This is so incredibly frustrating. I don’t even want to play anymore at this point. Can’t wait for Carnival Hunt to come out.

This is the one big thing they needed to make sure was accounted for in this afk crows system and they failed hard.
People have been asking them to "do something about slugging for the 4k" since hatch was reworked years ago. Apparently they decided it should just be two guaranteed kills instead.
BHVR seems to be completely not understanding that the survivor role only works if the players have hope. This entire patch has been "we're taking any chance you have away in many situations, and also here's a punishment for feeling hopeless".
At this point, it's just shouting into a vacuum. I've personally tried to point out that hiding for up to 6-7 minutes is valid gameplay in this situation (4 minutes of bleed out, a minute or so of hatch search, and 2 minutes of door mind games). For years, on these forums.
And that's literally the only play available when gens still remain here. Now there's no choice, no play except dying.
But hey, apparently being sneaky, or stealthy isn't the gameplay the devs want. They listened to people who want survivors to stand in the open next to gens (but ideally not touching the gens) so the killer can find them easily. That's the system we got.
Pretty good job so far.

Bringing this up again because, unfortunately, some MAJOR fine tuning is needed here.
People have reported crows appearing in chase, on hook, or while cleansing a Thrill totem.
Same. I get them very easily.
Just had a match against Springtrap. He slugged the 3rd, and left them on the floor to try and get me for the 4K. He proxy camped the slug and the gates (both within eyesight unfortunately). So I was playing safe either to get the pick up, or wait for him to hook and then I can try for hatch. It gives me AFK crows even tho I am moving around, moving across the map, repositioning, not just sitting in a corner somewhere. Crows. Here are the crows. He ended up hooking and then I got hatch….but I get crows for playing safe and moving around to get hatch?

So nothing about vault speed in power as well as movement speed when cancelling midair aka the two biggest balance issues with this killer. I see.
these are the biggest problems! every pallet is a free hit no matter what. wait for drop, user power free hit. no drop, can instantly catch you. mobility into cancel to an instant hit is also frustrating. The two worst things about this killer and they are left in.
-
I was having fun with DBD lately too. A shame. Every match is this stupid killer. Not fun anymore. Bummer. Other games for now I guess. Sucks.
-
This killer is not fun to play against.
-
event sucks. killers are sweaty and survivors just kill themselves. most un fun ######### ever.
-
Not fun anymore.
-
Yup. This game is ruined. I don't enjoy it anymore since the new matchmaking.

@Tekno_Badger said:
They'll never do that, they dont want us to know how bad the system is
Maybe not, but I think it would only help. A lot of players would simply want to just make this arbitrary number go up, simply because it's there, imo. I understand the player base doesn't really feel listened to, but don't ask don't receive. Just trying to be constructive and wanted to put it out there again.

Bunny Legion/Robbie the Rabbit is directly coming from Silent Hill though, how is that not horror themed?
Is it? Don't follow that lore enough to know. Poor example on my part. Point still stands with all the bright, random cosmetics tho.
-
+1 let us customize skins. Very annoying.
-
+1 I'm pretty annoyed they took away the 'cosmetic' glitch. What is the justification for this? It did nothing but bring enjoyment to the player base and even increase sales. This is the type of ######### that makes me want to play something else and not spend any money.
-
Yup. The game is super broken atm!
-
It's absolutely game breaking and disheartening. I just turn it off, can only take it so much. This needs to be addressed and fixed ASAP.
-
Ya, super unenjoyable to play atm. I just turn it off after a couple matches - no more extended play. When will BHVR get it together?
-
yup, this challenge ######### SUCKS. ######### does not work. bye k thanks for not working.
-
Don't worry about having fun, there are new skins they offer you to buy.....
seriously can't stand this ######### game sometimes.

MMR is turned off and my games are loads better. I don't get any survivors below purple (I"m a Red Ranked Survivor Main) and all the killers have been red or purple tonight. Night and day difference from yesterday with the MMR turned on. I don't know why, but the MMR seems to make matchmaking much more unbalanced and frustrating.
-
Played all night tonight. Survivor Main.
Consistently Red Ranked every rank reset.
Devotion 8.
Lvl. 74
Everyone of my matches tonight was bad, in the sense that, I get grouped with low ranked survivors and almost always low ranked killers (no killer higher than rank 8, but mostly brown). Most of my survivor teammates, also brown - regularly lvl 20. It's very frustrating and a huge turn-off for me.
Why, why, do I get matched with such low ranked players??? Makes no sense. I guess for the other 4 people the matching seems balanced, but for me it seems like you guys don't know ######### is going on. It's absolutely terrible. I can't stress enough how much this affects my experience and overall outlook on the game.
As a side note, and I offer this as pure data and in the most respectful way, as I do believe this game is unique, but I have stopped spending money on you guys. I would love to, but can't justify it anymore. A balanced, working matchmaking system at this point just a must. You guys are 5 years old.
-
what in the blazin' bajeezus happened to the hit validation on this patch. Looks like you are no where near getting hit and you get smacked. i'm sorry, but it's just very unplayable in the 4.5 patch. looking forward to an update so I can jump back in.
-
imagine wanting to nerf SPINE CHILL....LUL

Solo Survivor console main here. I don't think BBQ is OP. Only time it really hinders teams is when there are Survivors who are new or unaware of how to handle BBQ. You can easily counter or bait Killers who rely too much on BBQ tracking. Quite fun actually, watching them look around in a spot you baited them to (this also buys Survivors gen time)! Def annoying though when I have teammates who repeatedly get wrecked cus they don't know what's going on, but what can ya do 💁♂️ ...oblivious players are oblivious, they'll learn.

They're going to do that anyway because, even though I'm a solo survivor main, they're never going to be happy. I've escaped matches when the hooked survivor is on the other side of the map. I don't have borrowed time so it's just a 1 for 1. Plus if I get downed the killer is going after the other one. They'll complain anyway.
I've also had matches where I just couldn't get a rescue or even heal but did 3 or 4 gens and a chase or two but that doesn't yield a lot of points and they'll complain about that too.
Solo survivor main here also...so I totally get what you're saying. Although I don't hear the complaints as I'm on console and have disabled messages due to dm toxicity. I think a post game report would def help people see the work their teammates contributed towards (or lack there of!).

I'd be cool with this, but I really think it would be far down the road priority wise.
I can also see survs roasting each other over chase or gen times and such. Kinda glad I'm on console much harder to send these to each other.
I think it would do MUCH, MUCH more good than any potential harm. It would certainly show where you could improve each match and also potentially shed light onto other team mates in instances where they contributed a lot more than you were aware of.

I've had grunts of pain happen for several seconds after being healed by someone or when I heal someone. I think it's a healing issue not just inner strength.
Thanks for chiming in. When I heal with Inner Strength, the grunts never go away while in the Locker. By that point it starts to feel like I've been in there a while, so I haven't stayed until the crow comes to find out if it finally goes away. Guess I can try later.
-
I have experienced this also. Seems to be a common bug atm.
-
Just used a yellow medkit with butterfly tape and Syringe - ran out of charges without fully healing and ate the medkit. No Syringe was used. I got no heal.
-
Thanks for that insight, but I’m well aware character artists or environmental artists (another example) wouldn’t handle gameplay bug fixing. For the people in the back, “allocating resources”, and let me use this as transparently as possible, even though I have no place to do so, means pay more people to fix this broken game than to make cosmetics. That is all.
I’m using the cosmetics as an example because there seems to be no shortage of those. Repeatedly, we are offered new cosmetics to purchase. And while they may be fun to look at and keep things fresh for the player-base, it certainly feels like fixing problems with this game is on the back burner - and much of the community is becoming increasingly frustrated. Oh boy, new Greek cosmetics, now I can be frustrated in fashion.
This game is the most broken it’s ever been, at this very moment.
-
I can confirm! Happened to me going against wraith. I stunned him and he downed me so quick. I was wondering what the hell happened.
-
I've encountered the same issue.
-
Yes! Let's pick up sticks! Why not!

Ironically enough, I just went against a Vanity Mirror as I was reading this post. I felt bad for the poor bastard. God that add-on is useless. I am also a Michael main and I NEVER use it.
Possible proposed buff (this is purely off the top of the head): Vanity Mirror grants Michael Undetectable status for X seconds after stalking a Survivor. Possibly add a small cooldown? Or nah? I think this would help him reposition during some loops without the survivor knowing where he is.
Again, just off the top of the head. But that add-on def needs a little rework.
-
Came back to BUMP.
This is a great idea.
-
Def agreed on this statement. Should make dumb strong perks on both ends and see how it plays out. Lots of discussion on the board about making strong perks, then adjusting afterwards. It would also be a lot more fun. I saw someone on this board suggest a "BROKEN MODE" that would permanently be fixed to the game. Just broken meta with random crazy buffs to see how it shakes up the meta and what could be adjusted. Basically a permanent PTB that is just updated all the time with trial stuff/game breaking stuff until its good/balanced enough to be implemented .
-
@bjorksnas said:
This game could use a point based system for perks to make up for the disparity in strength between them, sure you could have your 4 meta perks or you could have your 6 or more niche perks that you enjoy
Not a bad idea!
-
Solid suggestion. Any shortcut or button commands we can use to navigate the UI/Menu would be very welcomed quality-of-life improvements. L1, R1, using D Pad to move over perks, buttons to add or remove them, etc. Instead of only having this slow, mouse-like curser that feels very clunky.
-
Nope. This is all things awesome. BROKEN MODE FTW!
-
There are many discussions on the topic in the forum you can find, likely on the first few pages. There have been some decent suggestions on the matter (or at least suggestions that are helping 'balance' the perk more).

You're literally tunneling
Yes, that is a scenario where Killer would be literally tunneling. Your proposed change would not help a survivor who is being tunneled. You were saying you want it to be strictly anti-tunneling. The situation is not remedied.
-
Yup. Just like a killer can use a NOED perk for a free downs. You can't get mad at a survivor using DS for a late game build, combining it with with Unbreakable and then getting into the situation where he gets out because of it. Same reason you can't get mad at a killer for using Noed and Bloodwarden to trap and kill everyone, especially if survivors don't want to clean bones. The fun in the game is having perk builds that benefit specific scenarios. Also, an endgame DS does not guarantee a free escape, but it sure as hell makes it very possible. Just like NOED doesn't guarantee kills, but it sure does help.
Again, this is just a comparison. You could complain about any perk being OP cus you got muffed by it. That's all this feedback forum is half the time. Hell, people complain about Spine Chill! Or BBQ!!😂
-
You can still get tunneled with DS. Very easy, happens all the time, everyone knows it. Just nerfing it does not fix the issue in terms of it being used offensively or it being geared enough to be strictly an anti-tunnel perk.
I down a survivor, hook him, he gets rescued. I hit him off the unhook, get DSed, and immediately run him down and hook him again. Current state of DS HELPS with tunneling, but does not prevent it. Your proposed nerf does not help whatsoever. There have been many posts on this forum discussing the matter, and the best suggestion so far has been to implement the changes you suggested above, and then with an extended sprint burst or something a kin to aid the survivor in actually getting away from a tunnel.
-
I know there's a lot of discussion on how keys/hatch/mori's etc should be balanced, but I just wanted to +2 that the door idea is really cool! What if you could also close the door after you opened it if you wanted, so the key would provide more of an extended loop route for a 1 time use? so spend a few seconds on a door, it opens, you run out, see killer following, close door and killer has to then go longer way. Didn't really think it out much, just kind of spitballing here. But, all in all, I think the door idea sounds like a fun mechanic.

Adopting a carefree attitude is imo required when playing DBD. These days I don't care about ranks or pipping, all I care about is having a good time, which sadly can be a rather tall order with this matchmaking system.
Dude, fair enough and also, a great way to approach it. That being said, having an objective is fun for me. It keeps the threshold of play higher and giving myself a bit of a challenge is what I find fun (in addition to trying to get specific builds to work) - the rift also gives me something to achieve.
You are spot on with the matchmaking generally just making things a bit more difficult and unenjoyable. How can you have fun when your team just throws the match or is outmatched and steamrolled. I see it as a waste of time. The matchmaking is the root of the problem. I'd much rather wait a few more minutes and get a lobby of reds than have a short cue time and get a lobby of rainbows. You end up wasting more time with thrown/quick/######### rainbow matches.
I don't think constantly harping/dwelling on the negatives helps all that much. But after you have a ######### night due to bad matchmaking, you just want to vent somewhere where everyone else understands. I hope they iron out the MMR system they were trying.

@IamDwight said:
I've said it months ago, but if there's any change to DS it should be:
If there are still generators that need to be completed:
DS will last indefinitely until the survivor performs an interaction. An interaction is: Touching a generator, touching a totem, dropping a pallet, clicking a flashlight, use an item, unhooking a survivor, entering a locker, completing a health-state of another survivor, COMPLETELY being healed YOURSELF (to prevent being sandbagged), etc.
If all generators are completed or EGC has started:
DS will last 30 seconds and will instantly be disabled if: You touch an exit gate, touch another survivor (even for a second), click flashlight, enter a locker, use an item, taking a protection hit for another survivor, etc.
----
I think this largely makes it fair for both sides and makes it a true anti tunnel perk.
Please explain to me how this prevents tunneling. This suggestion is nothing but a nerf.

How is that enough to make it an anti-tunneling perk? I understand making an adjustment to it, but all you've done is nerf it. You can still tunnel a survivor its current state, and your in proposed changed state. There is literally nothing with your proposed change that helps with Tunneling. It is simply a solid nerf with no solution to tunneling. If you want those changes you suggested to be implemented, then there needs to be changes to the perk that actually prevent tunneling ie. a longer stun, sprint burst, inability to pickup for a set duration, etc.

Yeah matchmaking is a mess.
I'm red rank. And I keep being paired with three yellow ranks and consistently face a red rank killer, usually rank 1. You can probably imagine the fun I've had with these games. It's basically the same as playing with 3 Blendettes. Everyone is self-caring or crouching in a corner of the map furthest from the killer not touching any gens.
Same experience here as a red rank survivor. I get matched with low levels who are too scared to do a gen or are literally crouching across the map in the corner. 🤦They throw, can't run a killer for more than 5 seconds, and don't try to save. It actually made me derank from 1 - 3 yesterday just because of ######### matchmaking! It's very frustrating. At least it makes me climb again I suppose. 🤷♀️ It's not EVERY match, but a LARGE portion of my games are like this. Some nights it's all night and I have to just submit to the DBD matchmaking gods and turn it off. And when you finally do get matched with other reds who are your rank, boy can you tell! I only play solo cue.
-
It's seriously starting to break me. I can't ######### stand it anymore. It creates a terrible experience for all players both experienced and inexperienced.
-
🙄Yup. Let's disable unbreakable endgame also. Also aura reading and exposed. Cus you know, game.
