Are you on Annon mode? If so it won't play the music. This is temporary untill next update when there will be an option in setting to turn music off for streamers is what I have heard.
that fixed it, thanks

maybe thats in the future patch? maybe no music until then? idk :(
I checked, no setting for that yet. It isn't until next patch.

I don't think they should be able to be used while running. To my knowledge, you can't use any item while moving besides maps. Either survivors are slowed when they begin to activate the EMP, or they have to stand still for a moment. This would make using them mid-chase much riskier since the killer can close the distance in the interim.
-
I think being able to run while you use an EMP is ridiculous. It's a simple fix which I think would make a considerable difference. To EMP mid-chase would require being a safe distance from the killer or risk being hit. This would also fix the altruistic EMP scenario which has happened to me a lot. Cleansing mid-chase should be risky for survivors or at the very least give the killer a chance to catch up some.
-
He feels miserable to play. Several times I infect a survivor, they t-bag me and pop an EMP in my face. It really does feel like I'm playing an m1 killer. Infecting survivors themselves isn't exactly easy either. It really feels discouraging when you try to infect someone with an EMP, knowing they can negate your effort in like a second or two while running no less. The camera POV feels janky and very disorienting.
I get there's a learning curve to him, especially finding good spots for camera/pod placement, but even then his power is so easily countered. Plague's vile purge feels more threatening than overclock imo so why does Singularity have such a hard counter to his power that costs survivors almost nothing? I've played him the past 2 days and usually only get 1 kill. The matches were I do well seem to be the ones where I use my power the least.
It feels very frustrating that the past few chapters have given us unpolished killers on release. Both knight and SM had fundamental flaws with their power and weren't "fixed" until long after their release. How are these issues not caught sooner in the development process?
-
I only play David unless I have a daily/tome challenge requiring me to play someone else.

Ignoring that these stats aren't really fully accurate... Skull Merchant kill rate is probably high because everyone gives up against her since no one wants to sit through a skull merchant game. I played against her three times last night and every game had a DC or hook suicide.
Now that you mention it, this has happened to me a lot too.

There's an upcoming tome challenge to escape as Ash Williams while also activating Mettle of Man. As a solo-queue survivor, I'm sure completing this will give me an aneurysm.

If you aren't tunneled, DH is better.
I agree. DH is pretty much only useful if you aren't tunneled, which is weird since the devs seem to be marketing the changes as "anti-tunnel". Now, its basically a perk that can only be used only twice to extend chases.

Good question.
It'll be powerful for sure, but the amount of attempts you had to get a successful Dead Hard meant that mediocre survivors could sometimes pull it off. It'll still be strong for good survivors, but for average or mediocre survivors it's dead in the water.
This begs the question though, why not just use sprint burst, a good survivor with sprint burst is like having a free Dead Hard every 60 seconds, it doesn't have conditions, and it doesn't require precise timing.
Dead Hard needs something else now because bringing OTR and Sprint Burst do it's job and some.
I agree with this as well, why not just use OTR and SB? Any other exhaustion perk can be used very often, especially with Vigil. DH is the only exhaustion perk that now has a finite number of uses. At this point, should DH even be an exhaustion perk?

Oh ok, I thought I read 3 somewhere. Thank you
I think the event is divided into 3 parts (1 part per week). Each week the color of the genmat changes and you get a different charm. I've escaped multiple times and only got the one charm, so I assume the other ones will unlock on 3/21 and 3/28. There's supposed to be 3 killer weapons and shirts for the original survivors, but I don't think those have been released yet. I've played a bunch of killer matches and never got anything from the genmats besides the bp reward.
-
Same here; I'm on PS4. I get the good skill check sound but the circle turns red and the glyph disappears. I tried the glyph multiple times in 3 games.
-
Clown's yellow bottles work too. Was able to get the achievement in a single match.
-
Malevolence (Killer Perk)
Start the trial with 1 token. Every time the obsession changes, gain 1 token up to a maximum of 8 tokens. You see the auras of all survivors within 4-32 meters (4 meters per token) of the obsession. When the obsession is killed or sacrificed, tokens are reset back to 1.
-
I only teabag if the killer was being toxic. Otherwise, I stay for the escape chase points, or to let the killer get a hit
-
Discordance is really helpful locating survivors. Also, if you're playing a killer with a smaller terror radius, M&A is really helpful too.
-
I'm honestly dreading trying to get adept with this guy. Either wait a year for buffs, or hope you go against a team of potatoes.
-
I feel like his blade mechanic should work like exhaustion; if you're running, the laceration meter doesn't decrease. You have to be idle for it to decrease.
-
I think its something with Trickster specifically. I have a much easier time playing Huntress or Slinger. I think after awhile, enough people will complain and he will get changed...again. I would just avoid playing him until then.

I think his speed is fine, it's just aiming in this game on a controller is less than desirable. It isn't smooth, so you can't really get in those extra knives here and there comfortably and reliably. Which you need to, since he's a very all or nothing killer.
We need linear ramp.
For some reason, I have an easier time getting hits on Huntress. Is Trickster's hit box smaller?

It's the recoil + stick feel.
He just feels so damn slow, especially when you're being looped with a wall where you can't get knife hits. I really wanted to like this killer, but once I get adept and the other trophy for him, I will never play him again if he stays like this.

Still the weakest on console by far IMO.
As a console player, I totally agree. I have some experience with Huntress. Even though I'm not great with her, I can at least get a few kills unlike with Trickster. There's nothing about him that justifies the 110% movement speed. I can understand that it takes a while to learn a new killer but he just feels so frustrating to play.

The idea sounds well-intentioned, but an “anonymous” mode for end-game chat just sounds like something people could use to be massively toxic and not be tracked for it.
also may as well add an option to disable the chat beforehand since they’ve already put a filter on it :v
The devs could keep logs of the player's actual tag. If they were reported, they could just look up the log to find their actual tag to do what they need to do.
-
Some maps need to have their totem spawn locations worked on. I think some of the maps that were designed later on have better totem spawns. Dead Dawg saloon seems to be a good example of a map with good hiding spots. I've gotten totem spawns on some maps that are literally right out in the open right next to a gen. There should at least be some effort to conceal totems instead of just plopping them in plain sight.

add a streamer mode, add an anonymous mode, done.
the fact that you went so far as to suggest that you should get compensation for being in a streamer's game is absurd, and you're placing an unnecessary amount of weight on self-employed individuals instead of the game companies that benefit from having said individuals give publicity for their game.
That's a fair argument. I think twitch should handle implementing a streamer/anonymous mode. It shouldn't be that hard. Streamers should be able to generate content and monetize it, but not at the expense of other players.

The issue with that is.
What if their name appears like **** or ??? due to how people have russian names or special letters that dbd can't comprehend..
Or what if it's too long to blur out by itself. going Overboard the blurring of said names,
Worse case Scenario, What if you verse a hacker but you still have his name Blurred out? that's kinda on You and You alone if you don't have multiple people reporting said Hacker,
Or people that take it too far in-end game chat (Everyone knows this type...) and tells you to Kind Your Stuff, Course i wouldn't let someone get away with it..
It's still a Multiplayer game, Weather or not you want to have your name shown is Completely bias in a sort of way,
You already showing your name to the 4 other players as it stands, Why does it matter if Your name is shown to the rest of the community on dbd or on twitch itself,
Before you do comment, Yes i do realize there's witchhunters out there, and that they also go after anyone that said person wants banned.. Not saying this is Right, but i'm not defending it either.. If ft's a hacker then yeah. like i mentioned above in the post. Witchhunt their ass off the game, (Despite this step not working..)
I think reporting is different. The devs have access to internal data that the general public does not. Even if the names are blurred, if the devs keep logs of matches, they can easily look this up and find the identity of the hacker.

To me, gaming is no different than walking down the street and suddenly a news crew is there on the corner doing a piece. You can't expect privacy in a public place - and to me a match is a public place. So there's no ethical question in that area as far as I'm concerned.
As for anonymity, that's on the player and his tag. I don't know how it is on consoles, but here on Steam we can pretty much change our tags at will and thus our in-game names. We also have the ability to lock down our profiles from unwanted intrusions and people sending us messages. So if we don't wish to be bothered, we have it in our hands to do so. So again, no ethical questions for us here.
Typically, the law allows you to be recorded as long as there is no expectation of privacy. But I think this opens up Pandora's Box. Let's say a streamer uploads content. If game play footage is considered public domain, and usable by anyone, what is stopping me from taking someone else's content, dubbing over it, claiming it as my own, and profiting off of it? I think this leads to a very slippery slope.

They aren't making money off your gameplay lol what happens if they go the whole match and barely see you and don't even mention you? They aren't watching the streamer in hopes that they'll come across you and if you are featured in a streamers/youtubers video guess what? Nobody will ever remember who you are. Nobody watches a streamer like oh my goodness I wonder who's going to be in their next match!!
Any streamer, whether survivor or killer, depends on other people to be placed into a match and to generate content. So yes, you are essential for the streamer to have content, thus you are helping them generate money. Even if you hide the entire match, you and the three others along with the streamer themselves where necessary to facilitate a match.

@Pepsidot said:
If these players are necessary for the production of profitable content, I think it is only fair they receive a portion of the streamer's compensation.
This has to be bait. Could you imagine if this was the case? 99% of *gaming* content on platforms like YouTube and Twitch would just be people playing single player games. Thinking that this is in any way doable, practical or necessary is mind-boggling to me.
I'm fine with people streaming multiplayer games. At the very least, the other players should remain anonymous if they don't give the streamer permission to use their game play footage in their videos.

I'm not sure what to make of this thread. This is not a debate about "Ethics". Neither of the things you posted has anything to do with what may or may not be "Ethical". Ethics is a lot more complicated than "they showed my screen name!!!" and "They should compensate players for randomly being matched with them!".
Do you realize how many online multiplayer games are streamed? Are those "unethical"? An example is League of Legends. Randomly matched with players, competitive, winners and losers. Should the Streamer have to compensate all 9 other players they get matched with?
I don't stream, I have no plans to ever stream, but this is honestly ridiculous.
The best solution here is that the streamers blur out the names of the people they play against. This comes at no cost to them and doesn't impede them creating content. People should be able to play a game without some streamer recording their game play without their consent and monetizing it. The argument I'm trying to make here is that a DbD streamer's content is not purely their own. Streamers are recording the game play of others without their consent and monetizing it. I agree that compensating everyone in the match would be a pain in the ass. Keeping the other players identities anonymous is very easy to do and I think should be a basic courtesy to others.

I hope you contacted said Streamer about this. Most Streamers I know (from viewing, not personally), really dont like if some of their viewers go on a Witchhunt in another Stream and usually, those viewers will be banned from said Streamers Livestream.
@Topic:
I think it is nonsense to even waste a thought about compensation or that your game might be livestreamed. Like, who cares? At worst, you get called dumb on a Stream. Most Streamers I go against have 5 viewers at max. And you want compensation because one Streamer, his second account, his grandma and his best friend are seeing how you are in the same game as the Streamer?
Same like notifying and asking for permission... Really, the DBD-Community is the most sensitive community I have ever seen in my entire life. "OH no, he is streaming! Everyone will see me :(((", really it is whatever. At worst, you get called dumb or something by the Streamer or their viewers, but who cares about that? (Aside from cases where smaller streamers get harassed by larger communities, but as I stated above, usually the larger Streamers are totally against this)
If anything, BHVR might include a note in their EULA that your game might be livestreamed and that you are giving permission to do so when accepting the EULA. This is the most what will ever happen.
Other than that, really, dont care about Streamers. Especially not about those with only a handful of viewers. Those are just normal players who like to show their gameplay, nothing more.
As an example, let says a streamer does a "50 killer win streak" video. Every single survivor's game play in all of those matches would be used to contribute towards this said video. None of these survivors would be asked for their permission to have their game play footage used for this video. Their names would remained uncensored as well. The streamer would then monetize this video without the knowledge of any of the players featured in the video. These are the scenarios that I find questionable.

Your gameplay has no monetary value to you or the streamer, it's THEIR gameplay and stream that is being used for their gain. You just happen to be playing the same game as they are, which you can't put a price on, that would be ridiculous.
But the streamer depends on YOUR gameplay in order to generate content. I agree monetizing everyone would be a bit much, so I think the best solution would be to blur out the names of the other players.

I don’t care about compensation. That’s like what maybe a few bucks? Not even that much. I would however prefer to be asked permission to show my name when someone is streaming the match. If I don’t give my consent then it blurs it out. I would like that for any game, not just DBD. I use videogames to get away from being a laughing stock in real life. I don’t want to see it on YouTube and Twitch too.
I agree, if streamers wanted to use my footage, I would be fine as long as I remained anonymous.

Normally when I watch a stream I’m watching it for them. If we are referring to the more popular ones I want to watch their play style you barely see the other people’s.
I normally am the same way. But some people are used in montages and don't have their names blurred. This can lead to players being harassed.

No, don't play multiplayer games if you don't like the idea of potentially ending up on someone's stream.
I disagree, I thinks someone deserves the right to play a multiplayer game without having their name plastered onto a video so someone else can make money off of it.

I don't think its fair that someone monetizes my own gameplay content without my consent. That's basically what streamers are doing.

I've used Bubba for several of the archive challenges, Like any killer, he has his strengths and weaknesses. I've gotten many 4k's with him without insidious camping or other dirty tactics. If you enjoy his play style, keep playing him.

Seeing how this is the case with every online game in existance it would very much surprise me if there wouldn't be something about it in the terms of use in either dbd or the platform you play dbd on.
I'm not going through all that text again but it may be possible that you already gave your consent.
I'm not picking on DbD in particular. I think this is more a critique of streaming itself. If I'm instrumental in someone else making money, it seems only fair that I receive some contribution of it, or my consent is gained before I'm featured in a public video. I think my post is more a question about streaming in general. Behavior doesn't have the power to regulate Youtube or Twitch or people recording their own gaming footage.
-
I originally made a post about this, but didn't get any response. Here were my suggestions:
- Make the knife trajectory/positioning more consistent and remove recoil. Why is this a thing? Huntress, Deathslinger, or Plague don't have any recoil with their powers, why would Trickster? Yes, he can spam his power but requires 8 hits to do a health state. It also seems like the knives are randomly being thrown to the sides. Both huntress and Deathslinger have consistent positions for their projectiles (center of screen). The unpredictability of the position of the knives you're throwing, the recoil, and 8-hit requirement make his power feel more like a hindrance than a help.
- Remove passive laceration decay. The closest example I can compare to here is Plague. Plague can puke on a survivor, not fully infect them, leave the chase, and still have some reward (survivor becoming fully infected or gaining a corrupted fountain). Trickster could in theory hit a survivor 7 times, break the chase, and gain absolutely nothing from it. Hitting a survivor with a few knives will highly incentivize you to continue the chase at all costs until you can at least injure them. This is ridiculous since killers often break chases to defend gens/totems or chase a more vulnerable target. Here are some of my thoughts on fixing this issue.
- Using M1 to hit a survivor does not lower the laceration meter (fully filling the meter to injure a survivor would still reset it). This would give you more incentive to use your power and allow it to be useful in more situations.
- The laceration meter is reset only when a survivor is downed or healed to the healthy state instead of passively regressing (this means a healthy survivor couldn't reset the laceration progress until they became injured).
- When a survivor has some degree of laceration, they will leave blood trails, even when healthy. The blood trails will become more distinct as the laceration meter increases (like the hemorrhage effect).
- This would be an alternative to b. The survivor would have to perform a mend action to reset the laceration meter. The higher the meter, the longer this will take. Certain actions could passively increase the laceration meter, like running (while not in a chase), or working on a generator.
- Allow Main Event to be triggered freely. Another incentive to using your power is to trigger main event. I would compare this to Oni's power. He has to injure survivors to collect blood orbs, then can trigger is power whenever he chooses. Imagine if Oni didn't have this choice and his power triggered as soon as the meter was full. The snowballing potential of Oni's power is much greater than Main Event, so why is there this limitation? I think once Trickster is able to trigger Main event, he should be able to activate it whenever he wants instead of within a few seconds of his meter filling up.
- This last point is probably the most debatable. If the other are changes are implemented, I don't think this would be necessary. My last suggestion would be to increase his movement speed to 115%. The other slow killers (Nurse, Hag, Spirit, Huntress, Deathslinger) have very strong powers. I don't think Trickster's power in it's current comes anywhere close to the powers of those killers.
-
To me, it seems like the devs have gotten lazier and lazier. Assuming we get a new map next chapter for the anniversary, we will have gone 12 entire months without a new map. The map reworks shouldn't really count. Refactoring an existing map shouldn't be as time consuming as creating a new map from scratch. It shouldn't have taken 6 months to fix Blight's camera pov (this should've been fixed in the first week or so).
The quality of the last 2 killers makes me believe they didn't set aside enough time for testing. I think they are barely testing the killers before the PTB, and the PTB is basically a formality. Most of the bugs/flaws found in the PTB should've been caught in their own testing before the PTB was released. They use the PTB as a substitute for their own testing, then don't have enough time between the PTB and the live version to fix these things. Hence we get crappy killers out of the gate that take months for them to get around to fixing.

My thoughts on your suggestions:
1) Not entirely sure how I feel about this one, maybe restrict the cue to being within a certain range of victor or charollette so you can tell if you're nearby but not from far away.
2) Totally agree, should always be able to recall
3) I think applying deep wound would be fine which is kinda what this is and also get you a bit more value out of victor hits
4) Mostly disagree, don't miss. Sure for successful hits though. Although I think it'd be better if victor could just stay latched onto slugged survivors to make it take longer for them to be picked up/recover
5) Sure, but I think it should maybe be killer instinct or victor's aura instead of the survivors aura
6) Yeah that'd be good
7) Sounds interesting, may need tweaks but the idea that victor can essentially be his own hook is interesting.
For #4, at the very least I think they should reduce the time window that Victor can be crushed for. Right now I believe it's 3 seconds. I think 1-1.5 seconds would be more reasonable. It would require a bit more skill from survivors to get the timing right to get a kick in when you're vulnerable.

I think we may need to wait and see with this killer. Remember when everyone was calling blight weak right after he came out. Let's give it some time before we jump to conclusions and demand huge buffs.
I started doing fairly well with Blight after a handful of games with him. His power has great synergy with a lot of perks. After about 10 games or so, I can get a decent feel for a Killer (not saying I've mastered them by any means, but I can get a decent read on their potential). The Twins is such an unefficient and poorly executed killer, I can do consistently do better with the low-tier killers like Wraith, Trapper, and Clown. I can play 10 matches or so with either of those 3 killers and get at least 2-3 4k's.
-
The best solution would be for the community to voice their discontent and persuade the developers to change this system, but that scenario seems highly unlikely. The second best solution seems to be survivors and killers collaborating to complete the more difficult challenges. Doing the latter is kind of lame and defeats the purpose of the game, but I'd honestly be willing to do it to complete things that would otherwise be impossible. The developers should really reconsider implementing something that will make people play their game in a way that wasn't intended. They should already make enough $ from people paying for the premium pass; most people won't get high enough to earn all of the auric cells back so that's $5-10 every 2-ish months from a lot of people. They should make the challenge rewards higher, make the challenges themselves achievable without collaborating with the killer/survivors, and remove the ability to pay $1 to move up a tier.
-
@Entity_Burger I'm not sure if it's a bug, but I was able to see lvl 4 of the tome. The challenges are completely ridiculous, like unhook 3 survivors during endgame collapse in one match, or sacrifice 3 survivors during collapse with NoED in one match, or sacrifice all 4 survivors in the basement in one match. Without collaboration between survivors and killers, these are next to impossible.
-
I agree. I counted the rift fragment rewards from the auris web; I believe it was 70-75. It takes 10 shards to tier up, so with 70 tiers you need 700 shards total. So assuming each of the webs is 75 fragments, completing all 4 gives us about 300. So we need 400 more to get to tier 70. So 400 x 800exp = 320,000 exp points. Let's assume we get around 500 exp per match, that's 640 matches. With queues and everything, matches are probably around 20 minutes; that amounts to 213 hours and 20 minutes of play time. The rift is open for 69 days, so to get to tier 70 you would have to play for roughly 3 hours every single day.
Personally, I think that's way too much. If we got maybe 500 fragments from doing the 4 tomes and only needed the remaining 200 from playing matches, that would require playing about 90 minutes a day for 69 days. That would be a lot more reasonable imo.
-
Thanks for the feedback. I was just throwing out random numbers for the three examples, it's difficult to come up with ranges and %'s without any data or testing. I do get killers are pressed for time (I play killer about 30-40% of the time). Maybe instead of 4 seconds, have it take 2 seconds so its about the same speed or slightly longer than breaking a pallet or kicking a gen. Also, keep in mind survivors have to find a good hiding place, then spend the 16 seconds setting it up. During that time they're not working on gens. Also once the killer destroys it the survivor is then only playing with 3 perks. Taking a few seconds to eliminate a survivor perk doesn't seem like that bad of a trade off. Again, it's hard to judge since there's no way to test it but I just thought the concept was interesting.
-
I'm specifically asking if the crystal bead will activate when this happens. So when DH goes off and the stuff is added to the map, will all of the other survivors see the auras as well?
