  • Can’t queue as surv. It says unready like it’s going to load but never does and I can’t unready to reset it or get out of the surv menu. I have to reset the whole game. But killer is fine.

I was able to play it on a normal PS4. I've since moved on to PS5, which is much quieter with better framerates. Not sure if it could now, since I deleted the game from PS4 (no reason to have it on there anymore)

Nice. Looking to upgrade myself but fund are tight.

Had the same problem with my PS4 pro.

Yeah, DbD broke my PS4 pro.

Now they’ll tell you to clean the dust, change the thermal paste etc etc but none of that worked with me. I surely hope it does for you.

The funny thing is no one wants to admit this game is actually capable of Breaking consoles, but it is. You can hear at that menu that even a brand new PS4 will go much louder than normal. Everyone calling it a hardware problem when tons of users had the same issue with ps4s that worked fine with other games.

Yeah. Refurbished mine after cyberpunk bricked it. Fan was going anyway. So I found a solution to my problem. Idk if it always work but if I play another game and let it warm up then dbd runs like normal. I guess it’s the initial boot up that heats up too quickly and registers as overheating.

  • @_HN_ said:

Sounds like a hardware problem to me.

Thought so too but every other game runs fine. It runs like cyberpunk back when it first came out. I played just fine the night before the update and when it finished downloading I loaded up and bam, overheat.

Well, it depends. What do you consider "tunneling"?

My definition of tunneling is essentially throwing the game to get rid of one person at all costs, eating their DS, attacking their BT, just chasing them relentlessly until they're dead.

But according to some survivors I've seen, "tunneling" is any time they're attacked at all after they've been hooked, without someone else going on the hook first. And sometimes even if someone else already went on the hook. Even if they're the only person I can find.

Although, there are a few times I might tunnel intentionally:

    1. You're running OoO and I suspect you're in a SWF, which becomes obvious very quickly
    2. You're being exceptionally obnoxious
    3. I'm losing badly and need a way to immediately and substantially increase my pressure to prevent a total loss and to stall the game, generally at this point your team has several gens done so I know you've already got points and likely a pip so I don't feel quite as bad, but I'd still prefer to avoid it
    4. It's the EGC and I have to choose someone to die, because there's no time to play nice once all the gens are done
    5. I forgot who was recently on the hook and am swinging into a pile of survivors

Yeah, I try not to give them a reason to tunnel me. Only thing I can think of is doing gens in their face but that’s only bc they’re stuck doing something or in an animation and that shits about to blow. Gotta get it before it regresses.

I'm sorry things are going poorly for you; solo queue frankly sucks.

You could bring DS, Unbreakable, and etc., play like a god and still get killed by your own team. I know I've been handed wins against a really good Survivor or two just because their teammates were bad.

    -

I'm a Killer Main, it's tough for me to give Survivor advice, but I'd suggest running whatever perks you want.

If you don't wanna run meta perks, don't. But also don't be afraid to run them just because they might annoy certain players.

I think acting respectfully in-game and in post game chat speaks a lot louder than what perks you use. I never look at someone's perks, see meta stuff, and think "What a jerk".

Additionally, try to find fun in things besides pipping or Escaping. You can't control whether you do either of those, so try to find something else to gauge victory by.

I know that's easier said than done, but there are people who play Killer and will do their utmost to kill people for having a funny name or playing a specific Survivor.

Being able to let that kind of stuff slide off you instead of bugging you will help a lot.

    -

I'm sorry if none of this helps; I hope you have better and more enjoyable future matches.

honestly, just trying to get some more content than just being chased out of the game. Like, I’m not always chased first but I feel like I get a huge target after I am chased. I’m not the best looper but I got some tricks up my sleeve. I’d hope that’s enough to ward them off but they just keep wanting me. It’s always after my first hook. It’s my mates sometimes that farm but I swear they could’ve found someone in the time and they come back for me. Like, me. Ignoring rescuer. Like, I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t a lot but I barely play an hour and a half a day if I get a chance. I want to at least feel the thrill a bit and not just be in the thick of it 24/7.

  • @TheRockstarKnight said:

If I think the person in question is a bit derpy and can be quickly and easily downed, I'll slug to either force someone to pick them up or eat their Unbreakable while I chase their rescuer. If nobody ever picks them up (their bleed out bar starts to run out) I'll hook them again/give Hatch if everyone else is dead.

If they have OoO and have non Rank 20 teammates, I have to tunnel them - they're just too dangerous to be left alive.

If they have a Key and gens are close to all getting done I have to tunnel them - again too dangerous to be left alive.

If they sandbagged another Survivor I will make sure they die and the sandbag victim lives.

Very kind. Idk. Just seems like they don’t want me in the game anymore. I don’t play better or worse than anyone except when I’m actually getting tunneled bc I panick. I try to be respectful and use nonmeta perks or items but I just keep getting kicked from these games. I’m usually just tunneled out mid game, 2-3 gens and everyone already been hooked or one person hasn’t. Idk. Maybe it’s just misfortune. Currently running blight Claud with shorts.

  • @ObscurityDragon said:

I aint a tunneler, but the reason i could tunnel someonendown would be the following:

-has OoO/did t-bag me or clicky me a lot of time

-tried to block me with Borrowed time when i got for his mate (15 secs aint that long and ill gladly eat your DS and get you in a bad spot then)

-bully squads or blendettes van also be a reason for a lot of people

-you barely hooked and gens are flying

Or simply...yeah wrong place/time as i searches the rescuer but he doesnt show up and i only find the person i just hooked....gotta work on that pressure

Of course i try not to tunnel, but sometimes its just the only thing you wanna do depending what you see, like many will tunnel the OoO

Pr spme people just tunnel to annoy others thats how it saddly goes...

Nice list. I’m never toxic, or at least am not if the killer isn’t. I don’t take op perks except DH if that counts. I just don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I’ll okay normal, and it’s not even like long chases and the others will do about the same. I just keep getting tunneled right off of first hook and don’t get to play much after. And it’s always aggressive. Like, just bolting back after a save. Like they don’t want me to play this match.

    @Exerlin said:

I have found that intentionally tunneling someone to get rid of their DS is valuable if they can be downed quickly. If the only injured player is the recently unhooked one and they are in a fairly unsafe spot, I'll chase them. If the unhooked survivor is the only person I see, I'm not going out of my way to avoid them.

That's generally why killers tunnel. If you want to avoid being tunneled, make sure you bring an exhaustion perk and learn correct pathing so that you can get to a good tile (or set of tiles). Doing that will make tunneling you too costly, and you will find that smart killers will opt to split their pressure instead of chasing you.

I don’t use DS, but I always feel like I should. Just never gets use when I run it. I do run to tiles and try my best, but usually I’m panicking at this point. So very easy to mind game me. I take DH, but just for fixing mistakes or getting that little extra distance.

    @kaeru said:

What is tunneling in your opinion?

I just don’t appreciate getting unhooked and then being chased immediately. I guess just that. Being chased after getting unhooked. Like, not having time to do anything else but run for your life.

Sounds like a hardware issue, if your PS4 is out of warranty you could always look at replacing the thermal paste.

Idk. Only ever happens with dbd. My point was mainly that my old ps4 can still run dbd. It did scare me to see the frames the first time but it just caught up and worked so I don’t mind it unless I spawn near killer and get chased.

I think it's more or less that FNaF is seen as more of a "kids" game, despite being six years old now. Back in the day, it was known for having one of those communities, one where it just had to breach everything even if it wasn't remotely related. Kinda like Undertale - I feel like the communities kinda ruined a lot of peoples viewpoints on the game. Personally, I don't really care if Springtrap made it in - I'm not a huge fan of FNaF, but it's not like I would despise it. I would be more or less indifferent. From everything I've seen, Scott seems like a pretty chill dude though.

I’ve seen someone say that chucky could work and a voodoo doll being carried by someone relevant. I haven’t seen but it’s gotta do with voodoo, right?? So they’d be normal mostly and then the doll could be the power. I’m not really looking forward to fnaf, but I would love it if the killer was like, the system or the location. Like, playing the killer would be like the FNAF games and you are sitting somewhere looking at cameras and trying to keep survs off stuff and set off traps to injure and down. It would be complicated to implement but I think it would be fun to try and survive some kinda all seeing eye/eye in the sky kind of being.

Dude, the frames is some bull. I got this ######### on my DAY ONE PS4 which has all kinds of warps and can’t run the menus longer than 5-10 minutes without getting an over heating error, but when I get in those games the frames and are #########. Then the game warms up and goes as usual. Unplayable my ass. Wait a minute and you’ll be okay. If I can bully some killers on my ancient setup, then these mfs just being picky.

  • Yeah. Was me the other day. Safety and depip only. But yesterday wasn’t too bad. We’ll see today.

The survivor on hook should be signaling if they’re being camped.

Yeah, but you never know if it’s camping or they want to get saved. Having to check wastes time.

  • @Ryuhi said:

Lead the killer as far away from any pressure as you can before getting downed.

Its a really simple mindset that goes a long way, and some killers will flat out just drop the chase entirely if they realize whats going on. Leading chases to areas with no gens, the opposite corner of the map from other hooked survivors/a 3 gen, these types of things ruin killer pressure and make your down much more worth it. Best part is, when they hook you, you're on the other side of the map from previously mentioned pressure, so they have to either let you get unhooked for free, or allow the other survivors to build more pressure easily.

Yeah, I try to get far from anything of value to killer as possible but they always seem to just leave and let a free hook happen if anyone has the balls. Too many scaredy cat survs in solo q.

    @TheClownIsKing said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/188923/looking-for-some-genuine-tips

My point of view is that it’s unwise to intentionally take a hook. I’ll take a protection hit to help break off a chase with someone else...if I think I can also get away.

Remember, the killer isn’t a bot, and isn’t under any obligation to give you a 2nd or 3rd chance. There’s always the very real possibility of your first hook being your death hook, and it’s perfectly within the game rules for things to play out that way.

Yeah. I try to treat every Hook like it’s my last. Can’t trust solo q teammates for the simplest things. Tbh, I let them die if I have to. Don’t wanna risk it if I really have to. I do try and take hits for those dead on hook but if killer continues chase not much I can do to stop it and let them just gunnel someone else out. I just wanna make the game last as long as possible to maybe get a chance to escape with as many people as possible. Tbh. If it comes to it and there’s 2 of us left I’ll left them die. Maybe u feel bad but I don’t worry so much in game.

    @Ryuhi said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1601039#Comment_1601039

and if the other survivors are dropping like flies, its pretty clear they're not going to get any pressure vs the killer. sometimes being able to distract the killer for the reset can save the game that bad teammates would otherwise ruin.

I'd rather take a 1-2 minute chase to save the game than end up in a hatch situation because everyone else died before i could get 2-3 gens done.

Yeah. I like bringing life back into the game. If I can get everyone else out I will. Some time it’s just not worth risking my own skin for someone else who’s just gonna go down and die anyway. I’d rather get my own time with the killer than die for someone who doesn’t deserve it.

  • Yeah. I wish rank up was harder so we get batter surv in red. Killers are good but team is lackluster at best.

  • Funny bc I can’t tell who has DS fr

playing killer. I like when Miller isn’t killer at death hook. Everyone on 2nd/3rd hook. Gives everyone a chance to get some bp and have a decent chase.

  • At 1% anything can happen. It can please you or annoy you. You never know 100%.

  • Tbh, kindred if a fuckinh great perk, but I don’t take it bc I worry about stealthy killers and they don’t show much they’ll show them there but if they activate stealth then it’s gamble again.

  • Yeah, I know but I like no mither and it’s got some p good synergy. If you wanna argue this I will say I am p drunk rn. So DO be warned.

  • @Orion said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1600810#Comment_1600810

You can punish camping yourself and prevent campers from getting BP by simply rushing gens and escaping. Of course, this doesn't usually allow you to get free unhooks, but if your goal is to punish campers...

Yeah, but it’s always a gamble. You can’t tell if they’re camping unless kindred. There’s gonna be someone who checks. At least one. I think it should just punish them more if the person getting camped gets saved. What’re the chances dole gets saved against a canker AND they have stake out. P slim.

  • @GhostMaceNotCrusty said:

The thing about punishing the killer for staying near the hook is because sometimes you have survivors who are super altruistic and are swarming hook or flat out abusing the mechanic.

Yeah, I know the fly swatter simulated too well. I think they could tweak it so if a surv is close they don’t lose bp or give stacks of stake out. If they can tell if killer is close then they can tell surv. You get assistant points.

    @Anghroth said:

Since almost everyone plays for bloodpoints, my solution would be:

if the killers stays within x meters of the hook and is not in a chase, he loses 10.000 bp every 10 seconds. Make it so it hurts those bastards.

I think they already do that but not to suck a degree. I just think camping should be punished more so people get the idea to not do it if they want something valuable.

  • @malatruse said:

I don't think buffing one perk is impactful enough to discourage camping. Or, I mean, at least not Stake Out.

Oh it’s just a dumb idea I got after getting camped. Like, only camping would make it work and it’s not much of a buff. It’s just normal unless you get camped and then you get stacks and whatnot. I know if a good camper gets you, then you wouldn’t get off hook and the stacks would be pointless. It’s just for if you DO get off then you got something to counter the lost time and BP from being camped.

  • kindred, lightweight, resilience, Spine chill.

Gotta see everyone at hooks. Best solo perk. Lightweight so I can run like a mad man and not leave much of a trace; it’s part of my makeshift exhaust build. And vault speed, baby!!

  • My issue with this is when you’re going for the pallet save and the killer is in the middle and won’t let you drop the pallet at all even when you can go under it a little too. So many saves gone south :(

  • @timbologna said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1582150#Comment_1582150

Doesn't help when it's that little run to the gates scenario and i'm not holding a survivor.

Oh, okay. My bad. I thought you meant when carrying. I find rancor works nice with nemesis to save someone at the end to one shot if you need it or mori. Can’t counter it but you know it’s coming so nemesis changes so they don’t know. I know it’s 2 slots and that a lot so at this point I would just make a general or toxic build to go along with these two.

  • Mad grit helps. If you land a hit it stops wiggle timer and if you don’t you’ll maybe scare off the surv(s) blocking you

  • Infections will find that one lurking around but I think mad grit is p good too against swf when they try to bully or body block.

  • I like all hex build on him. Good practice and some nice plays if they decide to do bones. I can usually tell they hate me from being obsession back to back, giving me players that counter my build or giving me players that I can counter after I’ve removed a certain perk.

  • Idk, man. I always liked having to play around ######### balances since it shakes things up. Too much of the same from dbd and it gets stale real quick.

  • With how they changed it it shouldn’t matter if surv switch or not. Your killer will get tailored survs for your skill with that killer. So if you’re getting switchies then you should be okay with that killer.

  • I suck so I use no mither, soul guard, tenacity and dead hard to get better in soloq. It’s rough, but fun when it starts working when I get slugged.

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

I had an idea for No Mither.

It could be presented that you share the pain of others. But you are used to physical hardship and can overcome the odds.

If you are in a healthy state and another survivor is hit, you become injured and put in to the broken state for 60/45/30 seconds.

If you are in the injured state and another survivor is hit, you are subjected to the deep wound effect and must mend before the timer expires. After mending, any remaining broken state time will continue.

If you find youself in the dying state, you can heal youself up to the injured state. After healing yourself or being healed, you are subjected to the broken state for 60/45/30 seconds. After this time period, you are automatically healed to the healthy state.

When using No Mither, taking protective hits has a bloodpoint bonus of 50/75/100%.

Sounds cool, but I wonder how this could play with MoM and Soul Guard.

  • I don’t play clown, but would it make a difference when you throw the bottle?? Like, if you throw it within the first few seconds vs. after 9 seconds.

  • 18-19 but I only play a few matches a day :( got a lot of challenges complete and saved. Still doing killer in 2.

  • I versed a trapper. I was first chased and first down for a bad play. I think I was doing archive challenge. I got to 2nd phase. I get unhooked and run over to a gen in a jungle gym. I run completely through the pallet safely, and see the killer. I turn around, run through the pallet and step on a trap that was in the pallet :( don’t know how I walked passed it before

  • I get you man. Whispers just adds a “terror radius” for the killer to hear when survs are near. Idea is cool. Though, I feel like whispers adding a speed buff when survs are near is more realistic. Like, I mean the devs would probably do that instead of add a whole new perk.

  • I’d like it if it was applied to players that have a penalty level greater than 1 or 2. Just so we don’t have it on players that internet is bad or something happened and we’re punished. Just so we know who will most likely dc and ruin the game for everyone else.

  • CANNIBAL_BEAN; red ranks but I play like purple. I’d wanna join in if there’s room :(

You can turn messages off completely, but its annoying i have to do that

Yeah, but then you have to turn it on. I’m saying to turn off notifications so you don’t know when someone is sending hate and when you do find out it’s usually way later when you don’t care. This way if your friends send stuff you can still get it. Though you might not see it until you check but if you’re expecting you’ll see it.

I got to be honest I wish they hid the killers name from both lists but especially tge lobby, tge messages from salty ass survivors gets old and I dont want to have to keep messages turned off all the time

Just leave notifications off and you’ll miss them for hours. I think you can pick who’s notifications can be shown but I’m not sure. I don’t mess with the settings too much.

  • Man, I got a 3k with Doc and a similar build. I had rancor so I got one of those annoying pricks with it at the end. All were friends and two were red ranks. I was just chilling doing challenges and these guys come up trying to be toxic. I don’t mind losing and stuff if the team is nice and just do gens and chase. If they bait, click or tbag I just wait for a good op later on and catch them in a dead zone with their pants down.

  • They only really tweaked the gen speeds a tad. I feel like it only really lets killers get one last good chase in before they’re all done now. Still pop left and right, but protecting gens close together is a little easier.

  • I hate doing the door opening challenges. Like, if I even get that far, my mates always open the doors :( then I have to wait until I get a game where I get go try and open a door again :(

  • im sure they did that bc everyone was using it. They don’t like it when all ranks use the same perk(s).

  • I like fitting to outfits. Like, the vial with any blight outfits. Or just matching event outfit with charm. I like the glowy ones in front of surv so you can see it and I always carry a brand new part and the altruism emblem charms bc they remind me to not be useless. So do gens or help the team at all times.

On hooks I like it to fit the killer mostly, but I mainly put the ones I like.

ohhh okay this could be the reason my 'luck' is so bad?? because I normally play in the dead of night and I get this happening all the time. I wonder why that would make a difference though, so strange.

Maybe at night when you get paired with someone just getting on their first game the map we just played getsa little more likely. Since going off everyone’s “luck” could discourage the player that’s just starting their rounds.

  • I know. I’m just saying, they had more to work with bc there was ######### going on at the time. Rn we just quarantined and sitting at home. No major holidays or events at launch. So they could do more relatable rewards and not have it be so empty before.

  • I mean, the last rifts were for events. This is just one in the middle of the year.

  • Can’t we just punish killer as long as hatch hasn’t spawned?? Since you can’t camp with your suggestion, then that would make for easy hatch plays with a key.

  • i feel like it happens often and especially late at night. Day games have somewhat random feel to the maps. But late at night into the mornings feel like I get the same maps from 2-3 realms and it burns you out real quick.

  • I remember them saying they were changing it to 200% sensitivity in the update. So 100% now would be 200% before. So 50% now would be the old 100%. They kept these in so you could use the low settings still if you liked it that way.
