TVs have picture settings. You can just adjust those. I did, and my game looks fine.

right but then the locker should block the scream but start a blind timer right. Is this a bug?
You're already blind in the locker. Permanently, no timer. So... probably a big/oversight. 🤷
-
They reduced them once. It broke Huntress. They're fine as they are.
-
Also happening on PS4.

But then shouldn't Calm Spirit do the same. Block the blind. You don't scream therefore you arent blinded. I would be fine if they were consistent.
The screaming doesn't make you blind. It's a separate effect entirely. So, no. It shouldn't block it. The bubble is a visual notification of the scream, they're the same effect. That's why not screaming blocks the bubble.
-
@sharpef3rn said:
Like my understanding was the locker blocked screams and auras. Thats all. But those perks for some reason get everything blocked, which makes Ultimate weapon stronger and Friends til the end weaker. And if the issue is that the scream needs to happen to trigger it then Calm Spirit is bugged because you still get blinded or become the obsession. Or if a locker is supposed to protect from status conditions being triggered like the doctors shock, which is negated in a locker but not by calm spirit. then it should also protect you from Friends til the End(Exposed part) and Blood Echo. Like no way I look at it does it have a logical conclusion.
It makes sense when you stop trying to think of it as blocking a perk and instead as blocking an effect. Survivors in lockers don't scream. Screaming is what triggers the aura bubble. No scream, no bubble. Same as how they block auras. Obviously, if you exit a locker while an effect that makes you scream or shows auras is active, you're going to be effected by it because you're not protected. Lockers don't block perks, just some effects.
The Obsession swap not happening is entirely a bug. And it's not locker related. I've had it happen to me as last Survivor left. Obsession got hooked and I didn't scream or become the new Obsession, and I wasn't in a locker. Seems to be tied to end game in some fashion, as that's the only time I've seen it happen.
-
Not a bug. It's to do with latency and timing. If hit late enough in the interaction it still completes.

Except those who are mad that only they died while their whole team escaped lol
Or nobody was doing anything and everyone died
Any Killer can tunnel. Had a Wesker and a Xeno today who tunneled everyone off hook. Only difference for Pig is if you run her the entire game you have to take hatch to escape instead of an exit gate.
-
Why not just make it: Push E to win. Would be the same effect.
-
Pain Res already sucks with 4 uses on specific hooks. It needs buffed, not nerfed.
-
I was thinking about a Left Behind buff earlier today while doing a hatch escape challenge with it. But my idea was different. After getting 4 Safe Unhooks/Protection hits a secondary effect would activate, allowing you to open the hatch without a key (but taking 50% longer than using a key (so 9 seconds)).
Makes LB better but also requires you to help your team to get full advantage.
-
There should be a "cool down" period for stopping regression. Just 2-3 seconds of uninterrupted repair, otherwise it starts regressing again.
-
The progress resets if you ever get anything but a great repair skill check, even after it's been completed. Get your greats, then don't touch gens the rest of the game, and it'll complete properly.
-
Because head traps are fine and no one with more than 5 hours legitimately thinks there's an issue with them.

Thanks, I was able to get it done this way. Sucks that you have to throw the game to complete it, though. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
We actually had a 4 man out in the game I did it, and I popped my greats extremely early. Before any gens were done. I just spent the game trying to take agro so the others could do gens, and being the team medic with Botany and We'll Make It.
'course, YMMV with that tactic depending on how good your Killer is.

I don't think this is going to count as an original cosmetic. Naughty Bear was a game that Behaviour developed when they went by another name called Artificial Mind and Movement and was published by 505 Games. Also because it has a different Mori attached to it I don't see them offering it with Iri shards.
He's available for shards now. So maybe it was just delayed... or it was a bug and the tag lies, lol.

Same issue. Tried removing/re-adding the tome entry, restarting the game client, doing another tome entry then coming back, nothing works. Every time I get all three done in-trial, but no completion once the trial's over.
You have to stop doing gens once you get your greats. You can either go have the Killer kill you or just spend the match doing bones, heals, and unhooks. Either way, don't do gens as any none great repair checks even after completion will reset the challenge.
-
I just assumed they changed it to look bigger and be more obvious, lol.
-
@CountDrunku said:
You have to do it with Feng. I did it, immediately stopped working on gens. I ended up dying but completed it.
I used a toolbox (ran out), worked on multiple gens, reset several times, went down and hooked twice before completing it in a row.
Perks were technician, this is not happening, deja vu, and alert.
Hope this helps!
It's not Feng. You can't get any missed or good skill checks after completing it or it resets. Your 3 greats have to be the last repair checks you do.
-
New update: Just had the error while attempting to load INTO a match, and still lost my items and add-ons. Also lost my offering. Didn't even get to play and still lost my #########. 😭
-
Not a bug. That's part of his stealth ability.
-
And it happened again. After dying in the trial I did not attempt to enter the Tome this time, merely return to lobby. I got the same dedicated server error and was kicked back to the scoreboard. I returned to the lobby and checked my load out and, once again, had lost TWO of my items and add-ons instead of one.
-
They probably disabled the skins until the proper release (likely tomorrow) at which point everyone will get them back.

The problem is that in a high rank match of equal skill, the killer can’t win. The game needs to be balanced to have MMR, but the devs refuse to balance for anything other than scrubs.
The Killer CAN win, it's just way harder than it should be, I'll agree with that. But that's a balancing issue and not an MMR issue, specifically. And we're apparently getting a huge balance patch soon, with base game changes and perk reworks. So we'll see where it all stands after that.

Steam is less than a fifth of the total platforms, yes.
I HIGHLY doubt that Steam is not the biggest individual platform. PS4 could maybe challenge that and certainly Xbox, Playstation and Switch together are larger, but individually, Steam is likely the largest but we literally do not know.
The only thing we know for sure is that the player counts have dropped drastically since August when MMR was introduced. I don't feel like it's that hard to put two and two together and realize that MMR was the last straw.
We absolutely DO know. You just have to look at sales figures to figure that out. Plus the fact that the game was literally free for a month on PlayStation and is part of Game Pass on Xbox. The game's sold over 25 millions copies, and it sure as hell didn't sell 5 million of them on Steam.
And correlation ≠ causation. I burped when I loaded this thread, but I'm pretty damn sure the thread didn't casue it. You are just using confirmation bias to see what you want to see. If MMR was legitimately the issue the current numbers would not be better than last year's numbers.

We have nothing else to go off of.
The people who ignore evidence are quite foolish, in my opinion.
People who ignore evidence are foolish, yes. But Steam Charts isn't evidence. Resident Evil was a huge chapter that brought in a lot of people who were never going to stay. But the total player base is still UP from before RE. There's 43,000 people currently on JUST on Steam, and Steam is less than 1/5th of the player base.

They responded to another thread saying they want the full total, inuding bonuses: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/325991/is-it-including-the-bonus-bbq-bp-or-not-including-bonus-bp-help-for-the-survey

say what you want about the playerbase at large (without proof btw) but the Charts show a very clear picture.
People hate MMR and DBD has lost nearly half it's playerbase since MMR was implemented.
Anyone who tries to use Steam Charts as evidence of anything has no idea how ######### works.

Yeah speaking about how horrible mmr is, is "bait" right? Even though the game's been bleeding players and they had to run "matchmaking tests" to try and fix it. Go ahead and call everything "bait" when you can't grasp the facts and logic behind it.
MMR isn't horrible. It does exactly what it's supposed to do. The issue is that a lot of players don't want to face people of equal skill, they want noobs they can beat with one hand and blind folded, so they whine when they actually have to try at the game.

He had the add-on that decreased stalking by 20%. But doesn't the Judith's Tombstone increase it by 200%.
Judith's makes T3 require 20 points on first activation. That can take anywhere from 24 to 240 seconds, depending on distance. If he was looking in shack window, he was close. Maybe 30-40 to activate it.
J. Myers increases the stalk rate by 20% reducing the time required by 20%. So instead of 30-40 seconds it would have probably taken 24-32 seconds.
Myers can stalk unaware unmoving Survivors very quickly.

Doing 1/4 of a gen in 5 seconds isn’t a good thing. Imagine if a killer got an add-on that allowed them to kill a survivor on first hook. Swfs can do a full gen in 10 seconds, all thanks to 1 add-on. At least the Anti-Hemorrhagic Syringe eats the medkit.
It's called "Tombstone" or, stepping away from add-ons, "Devour Hope."
Modern BNPs are fine. You can save them with a ward or AitH, and you can't use your toolbox until you use the BNP. If anything the Syringe and bottled time should be changed to be consumed, and consume all remaining medkit charges, instead of just deleting the medkit.

Yes, it is. If you're chasing without the intent to actually CATCH them, you're not playing the game.

There's also another detail: when I can mori someone, I usually do it in an angle with no objects obstructing my view. If its automatic, how can we make sure we are going to be able to see the Mori instead of clipping into a wall?
You don't Mori on the spot of the down. Watch the video of it from the stream. It teleports you both to a preset location (which also looks incredibly stupid and tacky) where your view won't be blocked.

Also I will repeat myself "But also
, leaves you slugged to chase out teammates,we don't actually know at the moment how the mori system works if there are 2 survivors and one is slugged. We only know what happens if there's only one survivor standing...."Yes. As the very last Survivor in the game, everyone else already dead or out before I got downed. I've gotten adrenaline from them closing hatch first. I've gotten Power Struggle when they went through a pallet. I've simply wiggled off because they couldn't make the hook in time.
I've also had it happen to me a ton as Killer where I'll get the down near an open gate, pick them up, and the closest hook is simply too far to reach. Survivor wiggles out and escapes.
An automatic Mori is just bullshit. Hell, even making it optional is kind of bullshit, but it's at least less bullshit. There's nothing wrong with the current Mori system. They don't need to be wasting time fixing ######### that isn't broken when half their game doesn't work.

Why even give the hatch in the first place? You seem to be arguing that you want to give someone a hatch but if you don’t down them before you do it then somehow it’s the equivalent of being afk which makes no sense.
And no, there won’t be a riot is BP were removed from BBP. You’re still engaging in “hyperbole”.
Do you not understand the concept of wanting to play the game that you're playing? I play the game from start to finish. The game does not end when the 3rd person dies. It ends when the last person is caught or escapes. If you're going to AFK and not play at the end, why did you even queue up to play at all, why not just AFK from the start?
The fact you can't seem to comprehend why someone wants to play the game all the way to the end is absolutely bizarre.
And yes, there wod be riots, and yes, that is hyperbole. Weird that you seem to understand that yet don't actually understand that. 🥴

Actually, these 2 are not the same. The killer still has a chance (and end-game perks exist for that reason too). The last survivor (after being downed) no longer can do anything to save themself.
False. I've saved myself as the last person, on the ground, and then escaped more than once.
-
@dugman said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2959296#Comment_2959296
Why do you have to “afk all game” to give someone hatch. Either lead them to the hatch or, if they refuse to take it, just close it and start the endgame collapse. At that point they either die or escape.
And by the way, I have gotten quite a lot of hits on people right at the edge of the gates because they misguessed where they were and the only reason they got out was I was in attack recovery. They definitely don’t “all escape” in those cases.
And I seriously doubt there would be “a riot” if BBQ and Chili is changed once the prestige thing goes live.
It's called hyperbole. If you're going to just AFK for hatch, why not just AFK the entire match? If your "solution" to fixing a bad design idea is to NOT PLAY the game, that's essentially what you're suggesting.
And those people didn't misjudge. They knew they were close enough to get out.
And yes, there will be a riot if BP is removed from BBQ. Lots of people only bought Bubba, with cash, for the BP on BBQ. And the prestige update doesn't fix ######### about the item/add-on grind.

And? Would still be funny.
I always thought it's hilarious how they stand there like the bravest soldiers taunting death but in reality they are never in danger because freedom is just one step away
The ones that actually let you hit them, the ones who could possibly die to this, are literally the ones being nice. They're staying to give your a few last points and Emblem progress.
The toxic Survivors leave before you can hit them.

For the sake of accuracy:
In your scenario if you mori a survivor on first down (no hooks) you get 1,000 points.
If you hook that survivor you get 200 points (Caught!) + 500 points (Hooked) + 250 points (Late Hook) + 200 points (Entity Summoned) + 500 (Late Sacrifice) for a grand total of 1,650 points. (Possibly 1,400 points - I dont recall off the top of my head if you get hooked + late hook). BHVR will definitely know to accommodate for this.
As for the rest, I can't really speak to or modify your preferences but I acknowledge them!
True, I did overlook the first hook event chain part of the scoring. My bad.
But that actually makes me fully expect this to be even worse, and the finisher Mori to be crap for points compared to a first hook kill. I do not trust BHVR to do this in way that doesn't screw up the game. They're not that competent.
-
@dugman said:
I disagree, having it be automatic makes sense
- If you want to let someone get out of the hatch you can still do it, just don’t down them
- Having it be automatic means you can get it even if they would normally be able to just barely crawl out the exit. This helps mitigate the whole dumb “sit at the exit so they can watch me leave” thing a bit
- Note that BBQ and Chili was one of the perks they mentioned is getting an overhaul the upcoming big perk update. So there’s no telling if your concern about that corner case of “I never hooked the last survivor and now I lose a couple thousand bloodpoints” will even be relevant, if it ever actually was. (Not to mention the Prestige system revamp will greatly reduce the number of bloodpoints needed to unlock perks on your characters so you may not even care about BBQ as much just from that.)
So count me in the camp of wanting it to be automatic,
"If you want to give hatch just AFK all game and let them do the gens and leave."
No. Why should I quit playing the game just to fix nonsense to that shouldn't be in the game in the first place?
And the automatic STILL REQUIRES THE DOWN. Meaning those exit gate people are still getting out. This changes absolutely NOTHING about gate campers. Plus, the ones who actually let you hit them are the ones being nice. The toxic ones run out before you can. So even if it does magically do something, it's doing it to the wrong people.
If BHVR removes the BP from BBQ they'll have riot, and they know it. It's not happening. And regardless of what they've done for Prestige the BP grind will always exist. Hell, I already have all the perks on everyone I use regularly so it doesn't even do much for me in the first place, and I still need tons of BP to keep stocked on items and add-ons and offerings.
Sorry, but the mechanic is just patently stupid. Removing choice from the player is never a smart move. Period.
-
1. No. That's boring. I'm not playing the game to be bored.
2. Mories are worth more BP than sacrifices, lol. A hook is 500, the sacrifice 200, so you get 700 in total. A Mori is 1,000. And there's zero chance they'll give you a free hook of any type for this.
3. See 2.
4. No. Because the exit gate thing would happen for, like, a week. Then they'll just tbag and Dead Hard out before you hit them and nothing changes except now the Killer experience is just considerably worse. Killer is already frequently unfun to play. I should at least be allowed to make my own damn decisions about who I kill.
-
@Starrseed said:
Something that came to my mind today was that with the new mori system we will see our fair share of cocky survs standing in the exit to taunt and get morid because they where to cocky and get downed because when it's automatic you can't fall into the gate ^^
Except did you watch? They literally fall first, then die. They'll fall out before it triggers.
And even if they don't, you'll get this for a few games for maybe a week, then never again. Because they'll just tbag until you're close and then Dead Hard out before you hit them.
