Completely eradicate the character from the game so I never have to deal with a stealth tunneling or box blocking Hog again. That would be a great change.
That would deffinetly be better than what she is now :D
Now how about an actually constructive suggestion? <3
What would YOU as a survivor main, like to see done to the pig so she's more fun to play against?
I asume you find it fun to play against a killer or you wouldn't be here, right? :) If you remove all the killers so you don't have to deal with tunneling, camping etc, you'd just sit on a dark map holding M1 right? ;)

A killer that can take control of survivors briefly, moving them out of position in order to strike.
A werewolf killer that can track the trail of a survivor, bypassing perks that block sound, scratch marks, blood trail blockers, and aura blocks.
A killer that can make obstacles that survivors can't pass through, but the killer can.
1) Sounds super fun, would it work (kind of like) twins?
2) That sounds kind of like adept Wraith on steroids xD
3) That... That's an amazing idea! That would be awesome, like the frost giant in smite? (if you are familiar with the game and character)

Well you would have to remove the flames because you will keep getting damage until you get downed. Also no "clean" stations that gives extra power if you collect them. It would be similar to Plague but not the same.
I get it! Instead of being broken and needing a follow up hit, it would do damage over time unless "cleansed/cleaned" Would it stop during chase? If not it could be op, but how do you explain it NOT burning during chase? 🤔
(Not poking holes in the idea, I love it, so I want to flush it out ^^)

Sure. I like the idea of having some flamethrower that does damage overtime to Survivors if they are on fire and they need to waste some time to clean themselfs from fire or they will lose health state, etc. You would have some ammo and you would reload at lockers for gas / oil tanks. Haha
They could LITERALLY just release a plague reskin and get the same thing? (more or less?) and if not, what would be the difference?

Reduce her RNG by reworking her RBTs. Each trap requires a certain number of searches, with one coming off first try, one taking two searches, etc., with the last one requiring 4, but these are in a random order. Then add a 5th box so she can’t camp a box for a guaranteed kill (effectively shutting down AFK pig).
Give her back her 28m terror radius and make combat straps basekit. She could probably use some improvements to her ambush as well, given how weak it is right now at most loops as the survivor can just run away.
Some addons could also be adjusted. Amanda’s Secret for instance is terrible.
That's basically what OhTofu said about the RBTs, now add " let the Pig jump a pallet when ambushing " that @TAG pointed out (love that idea btw, not BREAK the pallet with an ambush, JUMP a pallet instead! :D)

A spider killer that can crawl along walls and pounce like demo isn't such a stupid idea. Just incredibly broken and therefore unlikely.
I always use the old game alien vs Predator 2 and it's alien wall crawling ability for comparison.
It would be cool to be able to climb on the outside of high buildings in outdoor maps and pounce across half the map. It would be quite a "jumpscare" but also overlap quite heavily with demo, which might not be that much of a problem since they lost the licence.
THIS! This is the scariest ######### I've seen in a while :D

How does giving Survivors guaranteed self-unhooks help Pig at all?
Very fair point ^^" I'm just spitballing here honestly. The idea was something like PH cage, subverting hooks but tweeked so it's not the same and does not require survivors stepping in that rust trail or whatever it is. The downside being that you need to get survivors TO the trap that's fixed on the map like the boxes are instead of just hitting a button when you down them.
-
Or how about dropping RBT altogether
Instead, put hook alternatives around the map, the glass tubs from the movie, or the syringe pit, that require rapid skill checks to escape, and you have to escape yourself, other survivors can't get you out?
Though the flaw in this idea is already obvious: Camping. :(
-
what do you think of traps being activated after unhooking, would be closer to the movie and less survivor reliant?
And being able to put it on a survivor after hooking them
OhTofu had an idea of RBT to each take a different number of boxes to open, one trap is on the first box, the other on two boxes and so on, you don't know which trap is which when you set it, but you always get the same value
OR
Searching the incorrect box costs a health state?
I LOVE the idea of pig jumping over a pallet with her ambush and landing a hit!
Crouch should be instant like ghostface
Refillable traps on lockers, or is that too much? ^^"

yes it is cause you secure a kill which still makes your mmr go up so it doesn't matter about the other 3 survivors.
Who cares if it raises MMR, it just means he'll have a harder and harder time securing that one kill while it can't feel satisfying just standing in place looking at a survivor doing stretches' while gens pop in the background.
He's NOT having a good time I guarantee it, and MMR can't be seen, so he can't even flex, so what's the benefit?
-

@Tatt3dWon said:
I mean if you loop the killer you usually get face camped or tunneled so why take the chance. Why I quit playing its no fun anymore all I ever want to do is loop and that just leads to the killer securing that 1 kill since his mmr still goes up for it.
Face camping Isn't a viable strategy because by the time you rot away on a hook, the other three burned through the gens and got out. Plus you can wave in his face as he's "enjoying the game", like doctor strange, you are holding the killer hostage as much as he's holding you at that point.

Even before Oracle did that, this strategy for survivor has been working for years. I first noticed this about 4 years ago, around 2017 early 2018 when playing survivor
@UnKn0wN45 Pallet looping and Window looping is greeding mechanic that survivor are capable of doing against weaker killers. It is still very much a thing, but in most maps, you do not need to loop very well to escape because there is large amount of pallets that are both safe to loop and force the killer to break the pallet once dropped. so yes you do not need to conserve pallets to win if your team is efficient at generator objective.
preserve pallets was always just a myth. Shelter wood is perhaps only map where the myth might be partly true. I'm sure that MMR reveals a lot of false narratives.
This was sort of my point... Are there too many pallets? Considering windows can't be "broken" and made unusable without bamboozle or that demo perk they renamed recently that blocks windows near a popped gen, AKA dumb and dumber, pallets should be strong (safe) but rare, and windows should be much less safe but permanent, and common right? Instead we have a mixed bag of everything that gives way to infinites and linking tiles in such a way, that if you are Pig (my favorite killer btw and the reason i bought the game) you just have NO chance, even stealth is not viable because of spine chill ran mostly for vault build but having the added bonus of making stealth (more or less) useless.
To be fair though, if that was the case no one would ever survive an artist, or a nemesis right?

To be fair. The strongest killers ARE free with shards. Which you can grind...I can say a LOT about BHVR...Greed isn't really one of those things. They provide a LOT of cosmetics, perks, killers for FREE. They provide rift passes for 10 dollars....In which you literally get cosmetics + YOUR MONEY BACK in auric cells
Just for sake of argument. Are you American?
-
@DrDeepwound said:
you are correct, watch good teams its throw down pallet asap meta now.
I guess I understand, with killers like Bubba, Demo, Blight, Twins, Slinger, the joker wannabe whatever he's called, looping is sort of pointless, but where does that leave the rest of the roaster?
"So sorry, you suck?"
BHVR Can't be fine with that... Can they???
Actually... Why not... After all, it'll incentives you to buy the new and improved killers -.- I hate capitalism man...
-
I think OhTofu said it best: "Second chance perks suck because you feel like you are loosing to a perk, not to a player."
And that sentiment rings so true for me, I have no problem loosing to a better player, run me around for 5 gens while I'm missing every swing? Getting blasted with pallet after pallet?
HATS OFF TO YOU SIR !!! You are a N00b3 level survivor and deserve the win! GG, GL next.
But when I finally manage to scrape together some pressure with a hook, two slugs chasing the last survivor, outplaying them in a mind game just for them to dead hard for distance, the slug across the map to get up with unbreakable and pick up the other one, who then unhooks in my face because borrowed time gives his pall massive stones to body block without any risk TWICE because even if I do follow up and down him I'll just get DS ed and then tea bagged at the gates. I don't feel like I've been outplayed, just out meta ed, besides there are 4 survivors who can EACH burn a map offering, so I (AS THE KILLER) can't even pick the map WITH an offering...
Yeah, I'll just go play in traffic, it's more balanced...
And more fun <3
-
I'd play it INSTEAD of the regular matchmaking, especially if it's like kill your friends thing where you have all perks and all addons on all killers and survivors. However I don't know if it's even possible to program the AI for that, seems hard as hell O.o

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/312659/why-should-survivors-git-gud-but-not-killers
What you describe is confirmation bias. You see only survivors getting told to git gud. While actually both sides get told to git gud.
Just yesterday there was a thread from a new killer player who complained about the balance and most answers were some sort of rage comics.
Also, its save to assume that when someone writes gg at the end of the match, he really means git gud. Why? Because I almost never receive a gg when I win. Only when I lose.
But then again, this could just be my own confirmation bias.
Omg is "gg = git gud" a thing? I always write GG at the end of the game but ALWAYS with the meaning "Good Game" like WP = Well Played, not... IDK... Weep Profusely?
-
Um... Survivors chose what totem to boon, killer gets RNGed when your devour hope or ruin is in shack next to a gen -.-
If I could REhex my totems i'd gladly do it with a 20 second wait! Imagine, they break Devour with 3 stacks, you go back and rehex it with all the stacks!
Would that be fair?

The point of the perk is to stop you getting put back onto a hook until you have actively progressed the game through a gen, hooks save or even a heal. The survivor doesnt even have to fully complete the action they just need to tap it.
But having it the way suggest in the OP means you can actually abuse the mechanics to tunnel. Atm if it hasn't been 60seconds you just slug them, but if they tap a gen, heal or hook you can hook them.
Having it where it deactivates after you hook someone can be quite unfair, you cant control your team and how well they do. So not only can you be stuck with bad players due to a bad matchmaking but you can also be taken out the game super fast.
And what if the killer gets multiple downs? You can hook one, then when you hook the other the first loses his DS so you can basically full on tunnel someone.
Current DS helps a solo player have control on how quickly they can be hooked, most players dont wait 60seconds not doing anything and if they do easy game for you.
Perks like DS are great, perks like DH are not
Thank you for explaining your point of view so eloquently :)
I disagree but in all fairness I don't have a lot of experience in the game, and actually do need to "get good" (as killer) xD so my opinion is subject to change and is very much biased ^^"
-
Are you saying that it doesn't get abused? Are you sarcastic? Or do you genuinely think it's "perfect"?
To be clear, I'm not stating any opinion, would just like to understand you better :) <3

@pseudechis said:
if you cherry pick your topics you can kinda say anything but really the "get good" taunt gets thrown around both sides plenty, the whole them vs us is really tiresome. There are bad players on both sides asking for unnecessary nerfs.
A lot of the problem stems from the most efficient play often has some hard counters that make people upset when they expect to win.
Smashing out gens and ignoring anything else gets you to endgame very fast, its very efficient high pressure play by survivors, but then NOED often gets maximum value because noone took the time to cleanse or even observe where totems were so they expect to escape but end up on the hard end of NOED at its strongest, the end result is boo hoo nerf NOED I expected to escape and didn't..
The same goes for killer hard tunneling someone out early applies the maximum pressure a killer can and is often the most efficient way to play, so everyone brings 1v1 chase extending perks as a hard counter and we get the same dull meta and everyone going boo hoo DH rewards bad play and extends chases too much etc etc.
There are some legitimate topics about how some mechanics work and/or might be improved to attenuate their strength but 9/10 threads are "I hate this boo hoo delete it/nerf it please".
^ This...

Where are the statistics that say that the game is favoring survivors aside from the comments on these forums?
For a start there are 4 of them and 1 killer, you can be good, but can't be in 4 places at once, second the killer is playing in first person, and survivors in third, and even in non SWF teams, they can coordinate in pre game chat, that shows A TILT like he said, nothing else.
But again, you are right, someone like Otz, Tofu, Monto can still get regular 4Ks, the game is just designed with the tilt he mentioned in his comment, it's just some people, and these are proffessionals, can overcome it usualy by playing off survivors mistakes and nothing more.
However, your point is valid! It does suck when you are a new survivor and don't know the layout of every map and don't know how to chain tiles togeather and the killer is just on your ass the whole game tunneling you out of the match so he can maybe win a 3v1, my point is both sides have it rough :(

Have "second chance" perk equivalent for killers. Like,
Dead hard? Unrelenting hits a random survivor when you whiff (with a cooldown)
Unbreakable? Dearstalker makes it so if a survivor picks up a downed survivor within x ft. of the killer, the survivor that picked up is now downed.
Borrowed time? Make your choice doesn't require you to leave the hook
Etc. Etc.
My examples are BAD but you see what I was going for xD

To your last point, this game can be very humbling at times because you will have good games where you feel invincible and then you get humbled the next game struggling to get 1 hook... and everyone escaping and tbagging clicky clicky ######### at the end. It's all about balance. You do good, you get humbled....and then maybe you get on your basement Bubba insidious and remind yourself this game can be made unfun for both sides just as easily.
Absolutely! Humbling doesn't begin to cover it. And that was my experience before, some you "win" as in FEEL like a scary powerful killer, and sometimes... not so much -.-
but now it's always the latter. I can't get a single kill unless the survivors feel SORRY for me and GIVE me a kill... THAT'S WORSE T_T (but blood points, soo I'll take it xD)
They don't even leave unless they can make you swing at them as they dead hard out, before they waited to give you a hit for the road, a little more blood points, nice of them, but now, they wait for me to swing, and then they DEAD HARD out of the game? O.o What's the point?
Anyhow, I'll try the suggestions you wonderful people gave me, try different times of day and use the same killer (thank you all again so much!) and I'll be sure to give an update when I play more games and see if it helps.
Oh! One more thing, cross play ON or OFF? Its definitely a longer wait with cross play OFF, but I saw somewhere on the forum, that it helps, but I might have misunderstood the post xD

Try sticking to 1 killer. So your hidden mmr drops faster, if you lose.
If you continuously switch killers, then it will take far longer to drop your mmr.
That's awesome advice! I didn't think of that, I definitely need to pick a killer to main...

One follow up question, I get (now) how the MMR system works, but is there a way to set my preference to "I'll gladly wait for 20-30 minutes for a GOOD matchup rather than a 5 minute wait for a 7 minute game I get totally wrecked in"?
