Nobody likes delays though, just announce the release date later just in case things come up.
Even at a 5 Star restaurant if my meal is taking a long time I start wondering what’s going on.
-
They definitely changed freddy a week after he came out cause people cried nerf. That was a bad decision.

I hate this sort of fan gatekeeping I see going on across ALL types of fandom. You can support a game, sports team, etc. and critique them and want better from them BECAUSE you care. The "if you don't like it, leave" crap is how you get people calling your bluff and quitting, leaving you with garbage long queue times and a bad experience.
Ah that was the term I was looking for, gatekeeping.
Yeah if you do this, stop. There’s no reason for it.
-
Good lawd, you can learn from mistakes. Be a very good player and still notice blatant balance issues and design flaws. There’s nothing wrong with bringing them up here, it’s what a forum is for.
It’s not one or the other, but it makes sense people want to think this way since humans are so naturally inclined towards binary, black&white thinking.
Time doesn’t cause but it does correlate with skill, most of us didn’t pick up the game and be good with it.
Are there players who blame their losses on balance? Sure, but the type of people who do this will blame it on anything, like their opponent being a “tryhard”.
-
Adding to that, there are nasty players who attack the developers when they don’t get their way but they’re far from the majority.
Most of us try to be constructive with our criticism, but too often I see it confused for hate.
-
One of the best perks in the game, it actually reverses survivor progress instead of merely slowing it down.

It's easier to nerf 2 overpowered killers then to buff the rest, the whole idea of nerfing strong killers is that it allows you to make broader changes to gameplay like gen speed, healing speed, ect without worrying about making already overpowered killers even better. Kill Nurse/Spirit/Hillbilly/Fred and suddenly you have 17 viable killers instead of 4.
Huh? How does nerfing strong killers make the others more viable? That’s absurd.
You have it backwards, if they buffed everyone to say Spirits level then it would be fine.
If everyone’s “OP” no one is.
BHVR’s expressed no interest in changing generator speed far as I’m aware.
-
Sounds like your teammates are baddies if that worked.
I’ve only experienced a 4 man slug once against a Michael Myers when I first started playing.

If you've played the game a bunch, you start to get a feel for where survivors spawn. Even with very little playtime you start to realize that they tend not to spawn right next to you. If you check the further generators, you're bound to find someone.
If you want to avoid being caught first, I would suggest not getting on a generator right away. When they roll up and check the generator you spawned near, they won't hear any progress and they'll move on. Alternatively, tap it for a second, then move on. They'll start searching that area looking for a survivor.
^Good advice
Sometimes it’s just luck also OP, I’ve had days where I’m constantly found first. But I’m one of the players who likes being chased.
-
You have to have him in the center of your screen for a few seconds.
Sometimes just accept you wont reveal him, no reason to get downed just because you tried to reveal him.
-
Love/hate relationship.
It’s a really good game so the flaws stand out more.
-
”OMG soooo boring to play against”!
Translation: I can’t win against this consistently so it’s boring.
I feel bad for BHVR, they try to design a unique killer and entitled players whine.
-
I don’t agree with the Nurse nerf but saying she’s not that strong is hilarious.
-
They’re dedicating two of four perks to one purpose, it’s fine.

It's not simple when you have so much feedback at once. Could you keep up with the forums and reddit and all and separate the chaff? Also, just cause a Fog Whisperer or a Youtuber says it, doesn't mean it's true. They have impressions and opinion. Devs have hard data.
Things are never as simple as you think.
If they have hard data then why do they make so many obvious mistakes, like nerfing Freddy a week after release, releasing Mettle of Man busted as it was,
Either the data is flawed or they’re listening to the wrong feedback sometimes.
If BHVR’s hiring I’ll take the job, that’s my area of expertise.
-
I remember multiple fog whisperers and prominent youtubers saying Ghost Face was fine and BHVR changed him anyway.
It’s not hard to differentiate between players who know what they’re talking about and those who don’t, listen to the one’s who do.
It’s simple.
-
I’ll have to wait until after rank reset to get the Pigs adept, keep running into 4 man SWF with stacked perks and items.
I’m rank 10 atm, survivors are too good and I’m not good enough with Pig to defeat optimal squads.

Kinda surprises me that people actually think that. She's still by far the strongest killer in the game in the right hands.
Yet another example of nerfs not actually changing the game in a meaningful/good way.
Nurse was the same for years but now they nerf here cause survivors suddenly were complaining en masse.
Same with killers and Decisive Strike, it was nerfed yet it’s still a widely used meta perk.
Mettle of Man nerf “worked” but now it’s an essentially dead perk that’s hardly ever run. If I bought Ash Williams I’d feel a little cheated.
-
I’ve found the only real way to apply pressure is ending chases quickly, hooking people, wounding as many as possible, taking advantage of altruism.
This is why Pop goes the weasel is such a good perk, you can actually take progress away from the survivors instead of just making them achieve victory slower.
Saying “just apply map pressure LMAO” is unhelpful reductionism.
-
I’ll always like BHVR, just feel like they listen to reactionary members of the community who want to nerf everything rather than buffing things that really need it, they nerfed Freddy, a horror icon a week after his release and he was widely considered the worst killer until recently.
Decisive Strike was “nerfed”, yet it’s still a widely used perk.
Not saying we should never nerf things, just feel like they swing the axe too early sometimes.
-
The problem is they keep trying to balance based off of winrates, general stats, and not listening to skilled players.
They really don’t seem to listen to most of the Fog Whisperers at all, but correct me if I’m wrong.
-
I think it’s map design mostly, some of them just don’t accommodate killers who can’t get around the map quickly.
The only time I think “Wow gen rush”! is when I’m playing Clown or trapper or something and two gens pop before I can get across the map.
Just design better maps BHVR, make more of them like Hawkins or the new Badham versions. Rework Haddonfield next.
-
I think only licensed killers should have it.
-
I got hate mail today that just made me sad.
He said he was playing with a new friend and I ruined the game for him. Going for my Ghost Face adept trophy.
I don’t understand this mentality people have where they MUST win or the game’s not fun.

They can literally just disconnect the moment they get slugged if they wanted to. It's no more or less abusable than the current system. It just allows the survivor to keep the points/rank they earned instead of disconnecting or wasting several minutes
So your solution is adding to the issue?
-
@Elegant said:
Nah it should remain the way it is. The survivor should get the option to suicide on the ground whenever they get slugged. This would let them get out of the game without hurting the killer as well
Yeah, cause that wouldn’t be abused at all.

Clown, I love the laugh after hitting someone.

Yet billy is still pertty high teir on the killer list id say and wraith id put kinda in the middle and trapper is kinda meh i suppose hes one of those great at low ranks but high ranks will screw him over lol
Oh yeah Billy’s high tier now, he was solid then but his map pressure wasn’t as big of a deal since loops were so much stronger, stealth was stronger.
On the flipside, Trapper started falling out of favor since snowballing isn’t as big of a part of the game now as stopping generators is. Wraith’s “stealth” hardly matters anymore.
-
With Wraith’s strongest add ons I’d say he’s fairly strong, but BHVR likes making add on reliant killers for some reason.
The problem with the older killers like Trapper, Wraith, Billy, is that they were made and designed when the game’s meta was vastly different.
-
I go against Spirit all the time on PS4 so I’ve become good at dealing with her.
They shouldn’t nerf her, only thing that needs adjusted is prayer beads IMO, doesn’t have hardly any counterplay unless you have Spine Chill.
There’s a certain segment of this community that can’t adapt and wants to complain about literally everything though, first it was Nurse, then it’ll be Spirit, then Freddy. Killers complaining about keys, but moris are just fine.
They need to buff the weaker stuff in this game rather than taking a hacksaw to the stronger ones.

Blending is confirmed not a thing unless you are really new to the game.
Are you kidding? Prestige Claudette can practically disappear on dark maps.
-
I don’t dodge but if I see Blendettes in the lobby the odds of me slapping on a mori increase.

Add any addon that seems required to play the killer to their base kit.
100% this. Get rid of add-on reliance on certain killers. Add-ons should y’know add-on to a power, not be required to have an effective power.
-
Technically I’m a Smurf but in my defense my old account got perma-banned.
I kind of felt bad destroying rank 20’s but now I’m only at rank 12 and I’m running into SWF and killers with full meta loadouts.
-
So much hyperbole and exaggeration ITT, slowdown Freddy isn’t that bad. He’s an M1 killer that can be looped and led on long chases, with perks like Prove Thyself and toolboxes you can still just blow through gens.
I laugh when I see thanatophobia, it’s such a small effect that it’s basically placebo.
When you suicide and D/C all you’re doing is screwing your team over, stop it.

Second you said 360 (on console) I understand why you get tunneled. Sorry I don't feel bad for you anymore.
Edit: However, I hope you still have fun, I also hope none go out of their way to tunnel you down. (Throw the game/facecamp)
Even on console 360’s are trash, only works against new killers.
-
Why does everyone hate on Clown? His power helps in chases. His only real weakness is map pressure. He’s better than a bunch you have in B tier.
He’s Not the best but far from the worst.
This list is all wrong though, Huntress and Freddy need to be in A tier. Plague needs to be B at least.

I mean, you can blame SWF for that but isn't it the fact that you don't have good stuff and they do? This game is literally "Whoever brings the biggest guns usually wins", and they brought the big guns, you didn't.
I’m doing well, just salty cause It’s making some of the adept trophies impossible.
-
I like and respect BHVR but I’ll still call them on their mistakes and blunders.

@Corrupted said:
This is gonna be a very unpopular opinion but I think the whole SWF matchmaking issue was better before, it's better to have a rank 1+12+10+10 survivors vs a rank 9 killer than have a red rank killer vs green survivors and one red rank.
Why? Because the skillgap for survivor is much higher and harder than killer in green and brown ranks. Maybe even purple. It's much harder learning how to pallet loop, map design, where pallets are, etc. Opposed to just downing survivors. The mistake most newer killers make is chasing that red rank survivor for ages when they could've literally chased anyone else and downed them in less than 30 secs. Common sense dictates if I can't catch this guy in a reasonable frame of time then move on..
Every SWF isn't a death squad, some people do play this game casually, believe it or not. I suggest that when a SWF loads in, the killer can see all their levels? That way you can tell it's a SWF indefinitely and know what you're up against. Now if the case was three red ranks and a brown vs a green or brown killer then that's awful. That should never happen, but if averages were taken accordingly then it shouldn't.
No way, if you break off every chase that lasts more than 30 seconds you’re going to lose. I only break off when someone goes to a loop like Ironworks or Cowshed.
-
I just got hatemail from a dude saying he reported me cause I “took the game hostage”.
I’m supposed to just let the pink haired Nea run across the map for a rescue apparently. LUL
He also said I was a scrub cause he pallet stunned me 4 TIMES I’m shook man.
-
I am getting a bit tired of going against full meta SWF squads when I have zero good perks and add ons since I’m on a new account, no amount of skill makes up for all the insta heals, purple toolboxes and optimal loops.
I have no problem with SWF but it’s kind of annoying how it breaks the ranking system.
-
I play 70% survivor 30% percent killer.
I can’t stand DC’ers you ruin your teams chances with it. Selfish.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
So because your friends refuse to get better at the game, you want to enable the ability to bully killers again?
No thanks.
Seriously, maybe this is harsh. But get friends who aren’t scrubs. They’re not scrubs because they’re bad, but because they refuse to improve.
-
Predator, just not enough of an effect to be worth running.
Vigil, same as the above.
Thanatophobia I can’t believe people run this, one of the weakest killer perks in the game. Buff values very slightly.
Overwhelming Presence, rework entirely. Just useless.
Fire up, rework or buff so it’s worth using ever.
Autodidact, rework.
Buckle Up, rework, totally useless atm.

Instead of fighting against each other, I think it would be healthier if we would just nerf Moris and Keys together, so any side gets frustrated by them anymore.
You shouldn’t go around swinging the nerf bat purely cause someone finds something frustrating.

Can’t say I’m surprised the Fortnite player would mori spam.
-
My PSN’s TwistrBlitz if you need a good teammate.
-
You could try blocking them on PSN if you haven’t already. Better than nothing.
Other than that play SWF with people who can take hits for you.
