As someone who enjoys doing it when I need a break from toxic streamer wannabe nonsense from survivors, it absolutely should not be bannable, and if it is, then so should blendettes who never come out of hiding until the doors/hatch open.
There's inherent ingame punishment for the play style in lowered bp, loss of your rbt in later part of the game, and you'll probably depip since you won't have hooked all survivors nor really chased.

Remember bud, they don't ask how, they ask how many. Play selfish hockey, shoot from across the rink, never pass, only get those Ws boys.

I'm just gonna put It simply If you run NOED on an InstaDown killer you are bad. You shouldn't have to waste a slot for an InstaDown perk when you have a free one with your power. It should not be In the bloodweb of InstaDown killers and only In the bloodweb of killers like trapper and all the others who don't have Instadown.
Trapper does have an instadown, step in the trap, and down you go. And what if they have conditional instadown like Clown or Huntress? Or should NOED only be for killers who only m1 like Legion, Wraith, or Freddy?

Those are fair points. The Xenomorphs are also intelligent hunters I would argue just as good if not better than Demo. As you said Xeno’s thrive on tight corridors, however depending on the circumstances like buildings, trees ect.. they can use the environment to their advantage.
Regarding your point on the Xenomorph being disrespected AVP(2010) already did so for both Predators and Marines being able to kill them easily in multiplayer. The Marines in that game can punch one to death pretty easily, while Predators have all kinds of tools.
The Predator killing a Xenomorph easily is canon to AvP though. The original books had them as basically the Predator equivalent of deer, and provided the Pred had at least his wrist blade, they were little threat. The Marines being able to punch them to death was pretty dumb, but it required a bit of skill, not CoD press melee to kill.
But the biggest issue is that the Mouse owns the Alien franchise, which means negotiations might be difficult.
-
Also, it's probably there for the cross play coming up. Can't cross play with Freddy, but you could in theory be in a lobby with Switch players and the swap on to Freddy. Instead of dealing with either patching his model and abilities in so Switch players can deal with him, or the easier method, to prevent the swap. Not sure about why they didn't do it for Survivor's though, since Quentin would also be a problem.

Yup. I have. Because none of them knew how to hide
I see this kind of thing a lot on the xbox. I have been accused of hacking for running Nurses Calling, BBQ, Lightborn, Scratched Mirror, Vanity Mirror, Devour Hope, being a Deathslinger that can aim, being a Huntress that can aim, Bloody Coil on Trapper, Bloody Glove on Oni, and god knows how many more. Seems the prime times for entitled survivors are late night and morning.
-
At that time of night, it's more than likely all you'll see is SWF squads. Doesn't make them unbeatable, but it does make the job harder. Your goal is to identify the weak link, and take them down. This usually triggers musical hooks, and you'll have most of the squad on death hooks quickly. If you feel you're up against a SWAT squad (matching names, everyone has flashlights or toolboxes, matching characters and cosmetics) grab a green or pink Mori, removing one quickly makes your job easier. Note I don't reccomend moris for just a regular SWF, just the ones that are more likely to be toxic, since you have no obligation to let them have fun if they don't want you to enjoy yourself.
And above all, ignore their trash talk post game. Especially if they run the full meta perk package, which will give them around 10 extra chances to not die, which should be used to make a misplay less punishing, but in practice makes a risky play completely safe.

In terms of exhaustion perks.
Sprint Burst-avoid a chase. You take off running fast enough the killer has to decide if you're worth chasing. Positive is you either have enough time to get to a strong loop, or the killer says nah, and hunts someone else. Negative, the killer is now putting pressure elsewhere while you aren't on a gen, and the killer can always circle back before your exhaustion clears, and then you're running like normal.
Lithe, Landing, Dead Hard- prolong the chase, wasting more of the killer's time. Positive, you can pick when to trigger, and you waste the killer's time. Negative sometimes you don't have a good trigger or a trigger, or lag messes it up, and iri head doesn't care.
Head on- Waste everyone's time. Yay!
-
So, as I learned from watching Smash Bros. roster nonsense, people like to claim there are rules about the choices they make for DLC. The rules are never stated, they just what has currently been done to justify future choices. So, it started the rules were slasher movies, then horror movies( since Saw is dubiously a slasher, but solidly horror), then TV shows were okay, and now video games. FNaF is one of the most popular horror video games, even if the majority of the fan base is younger, thus all the questions. Personally I'd love to see a full Left4Dead chapter, putting in the Hunter and a map, or a Clock Tower chapter, but that's probably too obscure since there was a huge outcry about how Pyramid Head wasn't relevant, Scissor Man would make them scratch their heads.
-
Many people don't care about bp or emblems, they care about winning. And winning in their eyes is either the 4k, or the escape. Rushing gets that escape faster, while camping insures a kill. If a killer camps, he can expect the gens to fly by, or the survivors will become absolute idiots and rush to be slaughtered. He hopes for the second, but even if he gets the first he still will probably wind up with 2 kills. Not bad for the minimum of work.
-
Well, it's slightly better than the last version of this idea I saw, but let me start breaking it down.
1) All this does is lock out brand new players. Anyone with a modicum of common sense can get a survivor or killer up to 20 in about 5 okay games.
PS) So, you stopped iri hatchets and BNP, nothing else iri is truly dangerous, and has been pointed out purple keys work just as well.Moris are blocked by the only bp offerings, as well as shrouds and reagents. This will cause complaints for people that main this mode, since those items would stay on the Web, same as the unusable iri gear.
2) People will just quit until they find their friends, which is why SWF was added.
2b) Party chat and discord exist, survivors will go to that. Also, if you're doing proximity chat, make it so the killer can hear it, as well as talk.
3 and b) Kind of dumb, survivors will flock to maps in their favor ( red forest, ormond, haddonfield) with killer blocking one and then voting for one out of the 3 left with 2 votes( provided I understand you correctly) it leads to a 3 way tie at best, or survivors all flocking to one choice and killer just taking it.
3c) Survivors ban killer meta perks or things that counter their bs(lightborne and Franklin's come to mind) killer bans the meta perks, you'll see the same 3/4 perks banned every match, which again will cause complaints why those are even on webs if you can never use them.
4) Completely pointless, with killers having a much harder level grind. Emblem system we have is better than this.
-
Strong counter to NOED too. Don't need to do bones if we never do gens. This man isn't playing 4d Chess, he's at 10d Go right now.
-
Whoever actually makes the show. Though I think the CW is part of Warner. Though I don't think Supernatural would fit, mostly because David King is basically Dean without the hunter knowledge, and there wouldn't really be a good option for a killer or level, since they travel all over the US, and it's mostly monster of the week stuff, and the big bads would be too big. I really can't see the Entity convincing the Devil or Leviathan to be part of it's game.

What would a FNAF killer’s power be? Jumpscares? Hag already has that, and there’s (decent) lore behind it.
I get it’s a “horror game”, but think about how it could fit into DBD other than just because you like the franchise.
That's a problem a lot of potential killers have. Look at Jason, the last member of the Slashstreet Boys. In his own game he gets bear traps(Trapper), throwing knives(Huntress), short range high speed movement(Nurse, Spirit) long range teleportation( Freddy, Hag, Demo), stealth mode(Ghostface, Pig) a detection ability( perks) and Rage after a certain time that lets him one shot breakables(Oni specifically, but also Billy and Bubba to an extent). Nothing he shows in the movies could really be pulled out for a new power without colossal work, like grabbing through walls, or the whole Goes to Hell Jason possession thing.
And that doesn't count other horror icons who don't fit how the game works like Chucky, or the Puppet Master puppets. If anything the Puppets are more likely than Chucky just because of Littlest Reich.
-
Missed the time period, but they should be releasing on the store soon.

It's just that the only people that have the interest are fnaf fans. There isn't much to work with on a character that is nothing more than a rotting carcass in an animatronic suit. No survivors to base from, no map potential, and what about his "weapon"? It would just be his blunt hands. There are simply better options to work with that would fit better anyway. Just go play the two mascot-suited killers we already have lol.
His survivors could be one of the security guards, or maintenance techs or even his human form because the entity is nothing if not an #########. They can pull a Silent Hill and have the map based on a different game than 3, like the setting of a new one is a shopping mall, or combine together multiple pizzerias to make Fazbear's. And I mean his hands being weapons is fine, you have Hag and Demo just using their hands, and the Saw bros, Doc, and Oni use blunt weapons. He's got easy skin potential in the other animatronics, since whatever power they give him would likely work with the others, and the new linked outfits would prevent mismatching.
Not saying I'd be for a Freddy's rep, but potential is there. A damn sight more than Chucky, since he's way too small a character. Or Jason now, since all his tricks are covered by another character.
-
So, multiple prestiges as a bar for entry means that no one will ever play it. Most players will only prestige one character for the achievement, much less one per side. Then you have a banning system which if I'm understanding you correctly means the survivors can block off killers they don't want to see which will be the strongest ones, and then ban perks on top of that, so the killers they do see won't have perks that can really help their playstyle. There is no need for an alternating between killer and survivor banning, as they don't pull from the same pool, most games that feature a system like this have bans all coming from a common pool like champions that both sides can use, thus the alternating picks.
Then we get down to the meat of competitive mode, what defines a win. Does a survivor win if they escape? Do they only win if they get a double pip? Does the killer win for a 4k, or does he win for a merciless? What defines a competitive map? All the maps right now are designed for casual play. People can't even agree on what maps are survivor sided versus killer sided, and then you have killers who just do poorly on certain maps or survivors with cosmetics basically blending in.
And finally, what is even the point? Do you get more bp? Rift xp? Account xp? Are there seasonal rewards? You're causing longer queue times since there are now 2 queues, and even if this only appeals to 10% of players, that's 10% less in the main queue. It essentially splits the player base with the only variant being that survivors might not DS you, and you won't be facing iri Mori huntress.
I'll even pitch you a sample setup, presuming all survivors get to ban 1 killer, and 1 perk, while the killer gets to ban 6 perks to compensate for the killer bans.
Banned killers:
Huntress
Freddy
Spirit
Nurse
Banned killer perks:
Noed
Play With Your Food
Bbq
Infectious Fright
Banned Survivor perks:
DS
BT
DH
Unbreakable
Spine Chill
Adrenaline
You might expect the perks and killers to change slightly game to game, ie switching Huntress for Billy since she won't have instadown due to no red or purple add ons, or swapping bbq for Devour Hope so we never have to do bones, or a killer planning to never slug swapping Unbreakable for Balanced Landing.
Tl;dr: It's a mess that will expand queue times for very little reward, and very samey games full of sweat lords.

If Bubba does this all the time, I don't see how he's a level 1. He's not getting any points.
He's getting iri lightbringer, chaser, and likely malevolent emblems, and probably a gold devout for hooking everyone. Getting to and keeping rank one is easy, no bp, but that's not what he wants.
-
My bet would be Human Oni and Spirit, looking like they did predeath, and Young Clown, when he's at the top of his game. Though I think if they ever do Jason, he'll be a Set for Trapper or Oni, because there isn't much that he does that isn't already someone else's schtick.

So why did you use that name in the first place? It's like someone who is not racist would go out in a racist t-shirt and thinking people will just ignore it.
Because toxic as a term for trollish griefers is something that came in more recent years, and people have names from years ago, referencing other games or abilities and hadn't decided to change them. Like in Halo when it says TrappinMan was killed by X, someone might have made their GT a toxic fart for laughs.
-
Power is basically a mix of Clown and Plague, it's a slow that needs to be healed. Which means it's terribly unbalanced unless the duration is short, or the activation causes a large slow for him. If he hits you while it's up, he'll have an easy time downing his target, and depending on spawns he can tunnel easily off the hook, as it doesn't clear on the hook, like exhaust or deep wound.
Anyway, there's a different forum for ideas, so this will probably wind up there.
-
@Gylfie said:
It is true the PH himself can work around this by just not equipping any hook-related perks or by deciding to hook instead of using the cage. Survivors could be running hook-related perks and they'd be useless.
Just like Tombstone Myers, or running stealth perks against Doc, or healing perks against Plague, Billy, or Bubba. Sometimes the killer you fight against counters your perks, the same way you can counter the killer's power with perks.
-

He is not OP at all, pretty mediocre I would say. Have escaped every game so far against him. You are the problem not PH. Practice and get better at surviving.
This seems to be a lot of people's problem. They're so used to having second and third chances that something that stops it is considered OP. For other examples see Freddy's Lullaby, Huntress and Clown causing exhaustion, Deathslinger shooting people post Dead Hard, Oni, Billy, and pretty much anything that punishes a survivor for just holding m1 on the gen.

Could probably drop into the basement on any map also
All depends on where the basement is. In the killshed you should always be able to, but some other spawns don't let you come in form the sides.
-
To be fair, I feel that's true of pretty much all the UR addons. One really helps with a certain playstyle, while the other is kind of pointless, or only is really useful in an extreme corner case. Take Deathslinger. His coin helps out in a stealthier build, rewarding your long shots with instadowns, and a stealthy build let's you hit those long shots with a bit of ease. The Branding Iron let's you see the aura of everyone in your tr once you've actively hit someone with your spear, when you should be dragging them for the hit. More often than not you'll be too worried about dragging in your target than looking around for possible saves. You'll probably be running fright if you're that worried about saves, and taking it means you're not using one of his other addons.
-
Sounds like your teammates are bad at chases. If each of you were on a gen when Bubba chased his first down, you should have had at least 2 done by the time he even got them on a hook. The third should be popping while he's camping, and 2 people are finding more and working them. If you've got a smaller map, you can be done with most of your gens by the time the first camp ends, then all you need to do is open the door and leave. Or just stand next to the gate and wait for him to smack you for a bit more bp.
Since he camped the whole game, and if you open things quick, he loses chaser and lightbringer, his malicious and malevolent will be low to, for not hooking multiple times, and not getting the hits, so he'll derank, and if he's doing single hook kills, he'll be lucky to get out with 10k bp.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/157464/killer-choice-on-ptb
You didn’t do anything Wrong, but as others have said people are on the PTB to see the new killer or maybe try a killer who’s been patched in some way. Of course you can try any killer you want, especially if you have a build idea for one of the new perks.
However since the wait time for killer is usually horrendous on PTB and I know people DC a lot of it isn’t the new killer I won’t waste my own time queue if I’m not playing as Pyramid head
The problem is that it's the beta for the new patch, not new content showcase. So playing as old killers is necessary to test the new perks with them, especially if the perk can give them something they already have in their kit like undetectable or oblivious. Also they need to watch for bugs on maps, like how Deathslinger couldn't go into the gas Heaven basement, or Oni couldn't go into the Myers house basement, or the sinking tile on gas heaven. Then you still need to test to make sure things that shouldn't have changed haven't broken, like the huntress hatchet bug from the mid chapter update, or the spasmodic breath bug.
And then you still need to test the new map with old characters to make sure they work. That means droppable abilities ( Traps, Snares, Pallets) not going into the floor where they either don't work, or are uncounterable, alternate movements( crouching, teleports, charges, the upside down) to make sure they work right and don't wind up getting you stuck in objects, projectiles to make sure there isn't some wonky geometry that stops things it shouldn't, as well as different sized killers to make sure they can move everywhere, and things like Lithe and BL to make sure they trigger off everything they should. There's a ton of work to be done, and their in house qa can only do so much, which is why they have public beta, so that a much larger amount of testing happens, plus putting people who don't think like qa in charge of testing, so they wind up doing things no one ever thought someone would do.

Okay but how did they run to the shack if the map was The Game? It doesn't have a Shack.
I think he meant he was starting the match. Not playing on the Game map.

The best advice I can give is find the weak link, and make that your target. Also Sloppy Butcher and Thanatophobia work great against body blocking squads. Their ability to body block is based purely on their health, and the longer they take to heal, the longer they can't block for. And while they're getting smacked around during the block, the guy working gens runs slower too. My usual advice is if you see matching or themed names, presume it will be a sweaty game where you'll be dealing with them knowing every exact move you make.
-
The problem is rank means little, both survivor and killer side. I had a game against 2 reds and a purple last night, reds were 1 and 3 I think, killed 3 out of 4 with a add on less, offering free, level 1 pop clown since I just unlocked him. Would have been a 4k, but I got the last guy too far from the hatch to go close it. I've never climbed higher as a killer than purple.
Survivor side, you can still rank up if you're terrible at chases by healing other survivors, working on gens, and hiding. Killer side you have to go for maximum hooks and hits, while chasing quickly if you want to let the gens fall, or if you're bad at chasing, have to keep pressure on the gens for 10 minutes while also smacking people. And if a survivor decides to suicide or d/c, you'll be lucky to black pip, which gets worse if more than one decide to. I know survivors are more likely to die if one of theirs quits, but they can still get the lightbringer and altruism points.

His terror radius needs to be louder, thats why all the Deathslingers run it cause its so hard to discern.
You mean Monitor? Most Deathslinger's run it to lower their TR so they actually have a chance of making a shot without quick scope. Even though he has a gun, he's still got a range of 18m, and a survivor can get to cover pretty easy if they run spine chill.
If you mean that the Slingers run terror radius, I don't know how to tell you this, but all killers except jump scare Myers do.
-
Also, Survivors, if you want to farm, let the killer know, and bring your own streamers. Don't spew enough salt to fill a popcorn bowl when the killer takes you out for being a leech, bringing no more blood to the table.
-
So, the problem is most survivors with lights don't break hag traps, since you can just crab walk them, and I've had very few light burns on Wraith, most save the light for the save. And if you use the logic that Trapper and Hags traps can be countered, then Freddy is absolutely broken, as the only counter to his trap is waking up, but his traps will still be there, and he has a controllable teleport. The problem with PH is that he's like Plague.By picking him he weakens anything that goes off hooks, not just BT and DS, but deliverance, we're gonna make it, off the record, etc., provided he plays that way, in much the same way Plague makes perks that help or hurt healing pointless, if played using her power to it's fullest, since they'll either be broken and can't heal, or use the fountains to fully heal.
Also of note, he gets nothing he'd get from hooks if he cages, so no ebony and Ivory mori, no BBQ, no Pop, no Devour, nothing. So he's more likely to just be running bp items, and weaker perks detection and pressure wise. Also he has no mobility which means he has little pressure outside of chases. He can't zip around like Billy or Freddy, so he needs perks to maintain pressure.
-
You're definitely not in the wrong, and Ghostface is actually a good killer to test. He moves differently from other killers with his crouch and lean, so that needs to be tested on the new map, and it's a possibility that Pyramid Head's undetectable perk might interact badly with Ghostface's stealth, either breaking it when it drops, or making it unbreakable.
-
The Creeper isn't likely because of the man who holds the liscence. No one wants to work with him or pay him on it.
That said, Candyman is pretty likely, all things considered. And I'd love to see a Deadite killer(Evil Ash, Henrietta, or maybe the Cougar), and a Left 4 Dead monster( Tank would be my choice, but I think Charger is more likely.)
-
It has always depended on time in the game, and what's going on situationally for how much camping I do in a match. Normally none, but someone overly toxic will get me lovingly staring them in the eyes, the ring of bear traps around the hook making sure no one interrupts our special time. And if not only were they toxic to me, but to other survivors (pointing out other survivors to escape their death, bodyblocking someone injured in a corner, etc) they also get to feel that tender love of face camping.
Egc, I'll stand near the hook, but not face camping, unless it's a previously mentioned scenario. It's usually close enough to get the grab, if not then a quick 2hit, and dragging the savior to a farther hook to keep playing musical hooks.
I will say tunneling happens more unintentionally than intentionally. If I'm returning to an unhook and see scratch marks, I'll follow them. If the person I just hooked is there, well, I'm not going to ignore them. And if everyone is wearing the same costume, expect I don't care enough to remember who had the flashlight, the toolbox, and the med kit, since you can swap those anyway.
-
No. I've gotten Plague and Oni's power achievements without buying the chapters just the characters. And I had Leatherface's Texas BBQ achievement when using a splinter.
-
Even better, the variables are different between add ons that effect the same thing. Take the Spark Plug and Knife Marks for Bubba. Spark Plug slightly decreases the charge time, Knife Marks slightly increases it, so if you ran both it should cancel out, but you wind up with slower charging because the Marks slightly is still a higher number.

That's at least partially fair but as someone who JUST got into the game, I think it's a little unrealistic for me to spend about $70 give or take (and that's assuming you got the game itself free like I did with Xbox Game Pass) to get the all that DLC for survivors/killers that are specific in the Archive.
This isn't exactly a dealbreaker or anything for me with this game but that does suck. It doesn't seem like it would be very hard to individualize the Archive a little bit and not have a bunch of my Archive include The Spirit, one of the killers I don't have.
If you're talking about the current archives on Xbox, Lullaby is free it would be 14 dollars, if you bought both chapters, ten if you bought Auric cells. Eventually all the original characters will get archives, but non of the licensed according to the devs, and you can buy them with iridescent stones. And you can get the level rewards without the dlc characters, you just don't get a bit of rift xp and bloodpoints.
-
I go and play basement guardian. If they don't go in, they get no evader or unbreakable points, plus no chase bp.
-
From what I remember last time this was brought up, it's not a simple turn volume up to 5 fix. It's that the bugged sounds are tied to animations, so they need to go through and find the ones messing it up and repair it. It's sort of the same thing with D/C penalties, yes there are issues with the servers and crashes, but the bug reports should now increase to get accurate data towards fixing them, and not just seeing all the D/Cs from people getting mad and quitting.
-
Make sure you downloaded your DbD save from the PS cloud, that should put all your progression on the current system. But if it's thing she bought on her account, your save wouldn't have it. And if you don't have a save on the cloud, upload it so you can pull it back down. Your non primary console won't do it automatically.
-
The reason you would go with chatterer over a different cenobite is most of the others talk, especially Pinhead. It was a big complaint with Freddy, and I'd assume they want to avoid it with Pinhead.
-
I thought it basically rolled which ritual it was going to give you, then decided a variable if it had one, so the survivor ones are all generic, and can be done with any survivor, while there are 3 generic killer ones (Mori, Chase, and Sacrifice) and then the specific ones for each killer. So the more killers you have, the more likely you'll get a killer one.
-
Speccy - find the details of your computer's specs. Great for spotting issues or finding compatible upgrades. Download the latest version free.
Get your specs, because saying my game crashes, but only this game, not any other UE games, usually means something isn't up to par, and you're going to need the specs for crash reporting, since if it's an issue with a specific card or driver, you're going to need to tell them what you have. If you can't bother trying to fix it, or actually doing crash reports, and trying to get the issue fixed if it's on bhvr's end, then everyone is going to assume you're a salty baby who is mad they can't d/c freely anymore.
-
I run it when I have it, because of the bp boost and unlike most bp boosters, it's second effect is helpful more often than worthless. If you want it purely for detection though, there's not much of a point.
-
A lot of killer perks are situational, like Shadowborn vs. MnA, ironically I find Shadowborn better on Doc, since I get my big tr for static blasting, and MnA on Wraith, since his tr doesn't matter. The only ones which are usually non useful are Huntress perks, since Lullaby disappears quickly, BoP really only gives you BP, since the undetectable doesn't amount to much at Bloodlust, and territorial imperative only helps a basement build, either bubba or a basement guardian. Special mention goes to Demo's perks, since they sound okay on paper, but in practice they're basically huge gambles, though Surge can do well if you can get a good 3 gen going.

if you buy DLC, lol.
EDIT: Whait a minute. You need to combine multiple DLCs to upgrade m1 killer.. xD The storry is getting even more bs.
Oni is buyable with shards, but, and this is I feel the most important point. You can't if you buy dlc lol, for a character that's only buyable dlc. That's like saying if you play killer, lol.
Leatherface has a hard time against good survivors, but he wrecks potatoes, and he angers them with BBQ and Franklin's. BBQ let's you see where the Blendettes hide and if they don't want to get sawed, you whack them with a hammer and get a free toolbox.
-
Gen speed isn't the problem, but since map reworks take time, it is something that can be done as a bandaid fix a lot easier. They can spend months redesigning about 75% of the maps, or they can spend about ten minutes bumping the 80 to 120, or whatever other number you feel is appropriate, just pulled one out of thin air.

Most kids dont know what camping means and they throw it around every game. They think you chasing them is tunneling.
They think continually charging you and getting downed is tunneling. Usually I presume the first time to be rampant stupidity and just slug them. The second time though, they are too dumb to live.
