1.) Only if it is unintended. Putting yourself far enough away from a hook to wiggle off is intended.

2.) No, you are not a.... whatever bad word you put under there. They are, but not for the gameplay but for the bad form.

3.) Well, that's a personal choice. But this scenario had a solution you elected not to use.

    1) it was intended to drag the game out to be petty because I wasn't gonna farm. They definitely exploited this one area of the map. It's not like they waited for me to chase them. They literally just went there and sat there didn't move and let me down them because they knew that they'd be able to wiggle off. In the process taking advantage of an exploit and holding the game hostage.

    2) they def were for both form and gameplay.

    3) I can't really argue that accept by saying what rainehdaze said: if that's the only solution then that's a problem

  • @WesCravenFan said:

1.) What they did was not an exploit.

2.) You really are this mad over farming for an event that will be gone in four days?

3.) If you felt they were "holding the game hostage", you could DC from the match. It sounds like if they were trying to stall you out, this game lasted a lot longer than the 5 minute time out you would have gotten.

At the end of the day people are allowed to play how they want. I don't agree with messaging people nasty messages, though.

    1) An exploit is taking advantage of bug or certain mechanics of the game. Which they were doing because they knew I wouldn't make it to a hook and they just kept running back to that spot when I was stunned.

    2) I'm not mad I literally just asked if I was the one being an #########.

    3) I don't DC ever

  • Thank you lol ppl take this game so serious like it's life or death. And I just be in this forum like dude....... It's a game...... Stop getting so frustrated over something that's so trivial lmfao

  • Dude amen legion has been my favorite since he came out but since they nerfed his power which was probably necessary because he was really OP. At the same time though they really just made him a basic attack killer because it's almost a waste of time to try to actually make use of his power and can end up coating you the game. I also would I think it's dumb that the bleed out bar doesn't drain while in the terror radius of the killer.

  • I mean it's a game lol calm down. To base someone's morality and character because they play a game the way you don't want them to play it is extremely childish.

Even with BT I don't think you should unhook in front of the killer. If you can help it.

Well I mean BT is meant for unhooking in killers terror radius other wise it doesn't activate so I mean if someone unhooks me in front of the killer and they do have BT I can't really get too mad about it

Why are you writing to yourself? Do you need a penpal?

Lol funny... Not why would I post about it if I did that I literally never do that #########

I do it as a last resort. Some of my characters don't have Borrowed Time. But I always figure it is better to get you right before you go into next phase/die and possibly give you a chance to escape (as I do my best to take agro) then to leave you on the hook to speed up your death anyway.

I literally only unhook someone if it's going to be a safe unhook there's no reason to put both of our lives in danger and risk getting them downed and hooked again. Unless I have BT and am willing to take the hit and/or down for the unhook

  • @CountVampyr said:

I just had a Bill rush to me for a save on a hook while he was in the middle of a chase AND wounded, thereby keeping anybody else from doing it safely. Not that it ultimately made a difference because they were ALL idiots. Another person that was hiding near me waited until Bill was on another hook BEFORE running to unhook me, and by that time I was already in my second state. Neither of the other two tried to unhook Bill while the killer was again on my case. Sometimes it just doesn’t seem worth it.

I hate when ppl do that too. Especially if kindred is active like bihh you can tell someone is being chased stop bullshittin and come safe me fr. Why wait til someone else is hooked the first thing the killer is gonna do is go back to the first hook. The bill though is ######### dumb like maybe he had bt and wanted to save you but at the same he knew he was wounded like #########.

  • @StibbityStabbity said:

According to the rule book, you're supposed to be in the corner of the map and not at the hook. So get to it. I don't want to report you for blocking an unhook.

I really wasn't even mad at the killer like fr he just did what was more convenient. I'm pissed at my teammate for putting me in that position twice in a row. It's like ######### you didn't learn the first time.

I cant even grab a survivor.

I get a grab animation ans the survivor runs off.

I lose 3 seconds because of grab animation not working and you want it nerfing even more.

    Wow.

Camping is a tactical strategy in dbd. Stop complain about it please.

Exactly like fr?? You wanna complain about grabs when it has an obvious work around?? Being cancel the unhook animation. Makes no sense.

If you've been playing SWF like me, you have been sheltered from the horrors of "the solo experience". When you see a good teammate, you promptly congratulate them, because they're a diamond in the rough. Every one else is the most boosted assortment of players you've ever seen. DCers, immersed players, selfish players, clueless players, Self-carers, pallet wasters, etc. They're a dime a dozen and there's no escape from them. You will see them in all ranks, from grey to red. Your job is to carry them because they're little babies, or play for yourself and get chewed out by them. You can do a 5-gen chase and usually no more than 1 gen will pop. You can take a protection hit for them, and they'll go down 5 seconds later. It's mismatching at its worst.

All of this happens because there's a) not enough ranks and b) no MMR system. All it takes is a little play time and a few carries, and you're in red ranks. Beginners are getting matched with veterans, especially after every rank reset, which makes no sense because everyone gets rank reseted at the same time, but it happens.

Solo is an unviable mode to play in if you want to win, because your teammates do not, but the killer does. That's the problem, and until it's solved, the competitive player base is gonna be FORCED to play SWF and/or meta perks.

I mean I'm mid ranked survivor. I do nothing but solo and I escape a fair amount. Also I like just started playing survivor a couple months ago. I can't really speak for red ranks but like i feel like if you're solo queue games are going that bad you probably shouldn't be at the rank you are. Like even if I get a bad team sometimes I'm usually able to pull of hatch or work myself to get gens done. I do escape all the time but a fair amount. Yesterday I played about 20 survivor matches and I escaped about 12 of them. That's fair. You can't win em all.

This is my dream rework for the RBT:

When a generator is completed, or if the RBT was attached after the exit gates have been powered, the RBT will activate, starting its 3 minute timer. Survivors searching Jigsaw boxes slowly become injured as they interact with the box. Every time an additional generator is completed, the timer for the RBT is reduced by 45 seconds. Any survivor can search a Jigsaw box at any time. There are 6 boxes around the map.

Jigsaw boxes are no longer RNG, but rather they require you to interact with it for a set duration. After the interaction is complete, the survivor gets a Jigsaw key and are afflicted with the Broken status effect for a time. Survivors with a key can remove a RBT from themselves or another survivor. Removing a RBT takes 10 seconds, and includes 2 mildly difficult skill checks if removing a RBT from yourself (about 1.5x the size of DS skill checks). Failing a skill check will shatter the key.

Empty boxes do not reveal their auras

I'm not sure this would work but idk it sounds interesting though.

  • @DwightFairfield said:

It should be changed but not reverted, if a survivor can't escape because the killer is chasing them off the boxes and they can't leave through the gates, it would be seen as "unfair" and be reverted, or the pig's kill average would become inflated by the cheeky trap kills and she'd be nerfed to the ######### ground.

It should probably be changed so they have some power during the endgame, but not changed in such a way that it's essentially securing a kill if you put a helmet on someone after the gens are done.

I get what you're saying and agree on some things. Yeah it would be ######### up for ppl to put them on after all gens are done but I feel like the simple solution would be if the trap is put on before the 5th gen is done or before EGC is triggered or hatch is open it should kill if they try to escape. If it's attached after then have the set timer for when it activates start so they're forced to leave or take it off almost immediately because once it does activate they can't leave unless it is removed.

  • @Steel_Eyed said:

Look, if a Pig wasn’t able to get four or five downs (therefore trapping the caught survivors) before the fifth generator activates, the killer was probably going to lose anyways.

I mean they didn't finished the gens. They had 3 left. I downed and hooked the first 2 survivors 3 times and the third was on their first hook. The guy that escaped wouldve been on his 3rd hook had he been caught. The only reason the EGC started was because I closed the hatch.

  • I think they should have a gamemode where there are no gens and survivors have to survive for a certain amount of time. I feel like that would bring the survival and stealth elements heavy into this game. It would be a new challenge for survivors that find the current game mode too easy against most killers.

  • @aidNbsns said:

There are many people argue whether the DC penalty is warranted or not, this solution would make everybody happy. Each trial survivors gain the ability to vote 1 player out, when 3 players vote one person the entity will instantly consume that survivor (with the animation from the endgame collapse). Note this does not work in a SWF 2, 3 or 4.

To answer if this can be abused or not or what this has to do with the DC penalty. The point is to make players want to appeal to their team, and if anyone DCs it is a 12 hour ban every time, never getting extended even if many DCs.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

12 hour ban is drastic like what if I dc because of connection error?? Now I can't play the game for 12 hours! What kinda ######### is that?!

I mean, fix your PC is your game is crashing that much?

I'm on console and it's mostly the game because my internet is good my ps4 is almost brand new so it couldn't be either of those

  • @quoclong said:

"A loss for a killer is a de-pip, simple as that." That in itself proves your logic is failed. I have stated before getting 3k/4k (in certain circumstances) can result in a depip. And what if he neutral pips? Is that a tie? A PIP a win? U can get 4k and neutral pip. Can get 2-3k and get a pip+ (although for pip++ u would probably need 4k or 3k with 8+ hooks).

As i just said if you're not racking up the point you need for emblems and then depip then yes it's an L. That is literally the system the game has. What don't you get about that? Not once have I gotten 4k and depipped unless a mori was used before death hook on multiple survivors. I 100% agree that a depip is a loss because it eventually drops your rank where as exact opposite happens if you do pip. That sounds like win/loss to me. Obviously a neutral pip would exactly as it sounds neutral not necessarily a tie because a tie would insinuate that all survivors also neutral pipped which isn't the case.

  • @quoclong said:

There is a difference between slugging and letting a full health person bleed out just to get 4th kill. AND NO a killer does not lose in 3-1 escape ratio. What logic are u using? PIPPING? I can pip by letting all 4 survivors escape!!! is that a win for killer? Killer can get 4k and a survivor can PIP+ so did killer lose?

Well yeah I am using that logic. That's literally the logic the game uses so yeah. Depending on situation definitely. A 3-1 and then depip obviously means you didn't rack enough points even if you killed 3 survivors so yeah I look at that as an L. And survivors can pip in almost any situation so comparing a survivor pip to a killer pip is irrelevant.

  • @quoclong said:

There is NO PROBLEM of survivors holding game hostage. In fact it is the opposite. Too many try hard killers will leave a guy on the ground to get the 4k. To the point that he will bleed out from being first downed and then dying just so that the killer can waste time finding last survivor and get the useless 4k (because we all know killers LOSE if they 3k and 1 escape for god knows what reason).

Slugging isn't holding the game hostage though. It's literally just buying a lil bit of time to prevent hatch from opening and maybe getting the 4th kill. Where as hiding indefinitely til the hatch opens is keeping the game going way longer than slugging would. Killers don't get point for bleed out. It doesn't count. And killer can definitely lose with a 3-1 kill/escape ratio. Depip happens all the time for it. Sacrifices are major point on emblems.

  • @Artick said:

Hiding and not giving you a free kill is playing the game, just saying. I can see why it is annoying and I wouldn't do that myself, but if as survivor you know you will be dead the second you touch a gen then hiding and waiting for hatch is a valid playstyle.

Fr that's dumb. Not participating in the gameplay and just waiting and prolonging the game is annoying af with 2 survivors one person can at least make an attempt to loop the killer while the other one tries to do gens. It makes 0 sense for both ppl to be hiding and extending the game for no reason like if you don't succeed that sucks but at least the game is over and you can move on to the next one instead of staying in one get hiding and not getting anything out of it except boredom for both teams

The new executioner the oni and mike with his unlimited Evil within and the legion feral frenzy is 4 kills movement that should be nerfed no killer should be able to move that fast on foot for that long

At high ranks this just isn't true. Especially against a swf.

Low mobility killers are penalised due to gen speed. Even a large chunk of perks rely on the killer being able to quickly get to somewhere, either gen or totem, exclude them.

Combine that with the large number of very effective 2nd chance perks on multiple survivors makes it a nightmare for many killers.

The balance in this game is truly horrible.

This is why you only see the same 2-3 killers doing well at that rank. High mobility ones.

Straight up though! The balance is way too much in the survivors favor and it's kind of a bummer like I love this game but I feel like the survivors should be working harder to survive and the killers should have a leg up since it is a game based on killers and plus the fact it is a 4v1 there's no reason why the survivors should have so many advantages but the killers are always getting nerfed or downplayed JS

  • @Leachy_Jr said:

It would be kinda cool IG if they shifted a new chapter out of the way to bugfix and buff older killers that need it. I know a lot of the old killers are currently a buggy mess, especially with their animations.

However, every time someone suggests to push new content aside, you always get 2 responses:

"But they are 2 different teams working on new content and old!", and

    "BHVR is money greedy".

I wish they would get some of the people who work on new content, and make them focus on refreshing old content instead because let's be honest, killer changes and killer bug fixes happen WAAAAAY too slowly.

Yes exactly that's what I mean like there's a alot that can be done to the older killers. They don't change them enough they just look at the numbers and go well they're doing fine but that doesn't mean that those certain killers don't need changes or lil tweaks to keep them fresh because good survivors have gotten used to the older killers and know how to work around their abilities and downsides. And YES bug fixes come way to slow

Most of these arguments I already answered in this thread. Please read it, because I don't want to explain for the 9999th time that it is not about getting caught or winning or losing. And I also specifically addressed your main argument here - that also happens to be a common argument. Survivors being toxic is no excuse to keep rewarding killer's toxic gameplay. Two wrongs don't make a right. Moreover, about these types of survivor behavior that you mention, not only I don't do that but I also believe that the devs/game designers should address this as well. Except for looping. That's not really toxic, is it? I would only consider toxic if the survivor starts to teabaging in front of the loop (has happened to me as a killer, very toxic).

Touchè I would agree 2 wrong don't make a right but killers aren't rewarded for camping we actually lose points for it. Tunneling I can see being irritating but it is a strategy that's worth doing from time to time but it's also costly to the killer in the long run if not done correctly. I feel like alot in the game needs to be reworked but the devs just slap a band aid over it and call it good tbh. And I mean looping the same thing over and over yeah it's like stun me with a pallet and go to the next one that's why there's more than one it's kinda ######### to keep me going around the same one lol but at the same time usually it ends with that person getting downed

  • Dude it's bs to complain about it. As a killer main I know there are several toxic things that survivors do all the time to cheat the killer that's legit taking advantage of how the game works. Alot of survivors would say it's strategy, get better but it's ######### that literally can't be prevented such as body blocking, constantly looping around the same pallet or vault location. ######### I had a match where I downed someone and every survivor went and body block and healed each other while picking up the down survivor so I couldn't get anyone, definitely not a fun match it's bs. Killers get dinged in the post game for camping and tunneling is a legit strategy like if I already hooked someone why does it not make sense to try to hook the same person so I can take them out early and up my chances of getting all 4 ppl. As you pointed out there's ways to work around it for the other 3 survivors so instead of complaining about the killer why don't you question why the person being tunneled keeps getting caught?
