  • I was maining doc at the time, first survivor going Down was not to far from basement so why not hook him there? Done, leave basement because I am a polite crazy doctor, do some patrolling and the survivor is still hooked down there. Something ain't right here, I rush back to basement and looks like no one is there, keep walking and there you go, 1 was looting the box, other 2 in the far corner, get the looter first, hook! Then chase one of the other 2, got him, I grab him and rush downstairs again.... Hooked the third, now time to end this... Here is where amazing happens: not one but 2 survivors in front of me just unhooked them self at the same time, the rng!!!! Incredibly they both stand still, they didn't run away... I was loughing out loud, I guess both of them did the same... I let them go!! End up 2 died and 2 run away! Lot of fun

I love the game and don't hate the devs but their nerfs, monetizing decisions and sometimes shady practices piss me off so much.

A mature answer thanks. I think no one like the monetization but still, a company is a company, business is business and a better development needs more money to be achieved. I do not blame them for that, I am not always happy ofc like all of you, but I do respect their choices and I am the first ready to criticise. being angry doesn't automatically means write a full hatred post. Thanks for understanding and saying your opinion.

A community manager can't be aware of every bugs. A lot of bugs get found by the playerbase, so your point is absolutly illogical and can be tossed into the bin, sorry.

So what is the point of the discussion then? If you post here for answers and who is in charge just give it you and you don't accept it... What's the point? Ofc they can't be aware of 100%, of bugs, but still they are fully aware of the situation and status of game more then the players are. I do understand what your issues are, I also think you should accept his answer as: it random with no external factors changing that!

  • Anyway the doctor will be the next to be reworked so, wait and see how they change him. You are lucky that is a killer barely used imo, very small chase potential being a slightly more complicated M1 killer.

  • Elegant lounge for killers to discuss and drink a good coffee. Sorry guys for the typo, my first language is not English!

  • I am a main doc and freddy, and yes for low lvl players he's very annoying, but I do not see the need to nerf him. At high rank he's not good at all, once you know the mechanics he s basically a m1 killer that can prolong the game a fair bit... That's all!

As far as low rank is concerned, is normal that such a wierd killer is consider strong and annoying, you need to snap out and be careful of clones... For new player look like complicated and to much stuff to instead of doing gens, a bit of knowledge for survivors and our main doc will be much more less powerful.

I'd you hear laughing in the fog... Run!

  • Jon Rob just make a new music theme for the menu with huntress... Check his yt, cool and creapy

  • I when I go survivor (main killer here) I usually analyse the match thinking also that even if the mechanics of the game are perfect maybe 1 or more survivors didn't play properly/troll/dc... So the analysis is much more complicated.

From a killer point of view if I consider that I if play perfectly and don't get 4 kills (being the skill of the lobby very similar), we usually "blame" mechanics or loophole in the game.

Then here nobody is entitled... We are all entitled.

  • I hope so hehe, but he's really funny to play even I can't get the 4ks... The stalking mechanic, the survivors running in fear! Cool killer

so Myers is for Dummies or no skill required? because 12 games as Survivor... 10 Myers ... :D

So I think I'll be the perfect example: main killer here with the doc and freddy, not the best in the fog but I do have my fair share of good games, mainly I play for the fun of it....

Now is Halloween and steam discount all the dlc. So I purchased MM.

I try him already a lot, always got destroyed against him when I used survivors, so I was thinking was pretty easy and op... WRONG!!!

He's hard to play for me, he's M1 with a really difficult skill and perks to chose imo. You go to the ham and the tier3 will basically play against you, play to stealthy and tier1 will condemn you to a loss.

Fun to play but hatd to master I would say and now he shine because the gimmick of Halloween

  • @OMagic_ManO said:

Myers' stalking add ons are great, his rabbit add on as well for being spooky.

May you describe better your addons coiche? I just purchased MM and having a blast, would like to understand better

  • @Tzeentchling9 said:

A little known fact: If you don't DC, your chances of winning go up exponentially.

A lot of Survivors don't seem to understand that.

Absolutely right. DC is really a waste of my gaming time, when u are survivors if nothing is going the way you want just keep playing, sooner or later you ll die on that hook.

  • Unfortunately is just math:

    your rank

    +

Time zone where you live at

    +

The math behind each lobby with 4 survivors and 1 killer

All this must be related to all the other people connected, is normal that a killer need much more time to find a match. If I could make it easy and simple in a perfect scenario a killer will take 4 time longer then a survivor to find a lobby

  • @Avocet said:

I usually write “gg” out of politeness and to show my appreciation for the other players’ time and efforts. If I’m upset about the match for some reason, I don’t write anything or direct my “gg” at specific people.

I don’t expect to escape as survivor or 4K as killer. Therefore my “gg” is more of a “good try” or “well played” than “good game”. Calling a match a “good game” is too vague for me.

Quote him, perfect answer imo. Nowadays GG is more a form of politeness and mutual respect being in the same lobby and just spent the time together playing, no metter if killers or survivors.

  • @ASAPTurtle said:

Standing on a survivor blocks the prompt for the killer to pick them up. That can save lives. Spamming unhook on a survivor causes their body to not have collision. If done properly the killer could accidently hit the hooked survivor, you get the off them hook and both of you could possibly escape unscathed.

Both are new for me, appreciate a lot! Thanks for the useful input

  • This attitude in this forum is just bullsh... And sorry if I am rude.

First of all instead of raging with a new post you could just scroll couple of seconds to find similar topic already discussed in a more respecful way.

Second is a waste of time, they are well aware that a delay of this kind will be negative for the game, so devs have the highest interest in releasing the update ASAP.

Last, I still think this is not such a big deal as half community is saying. We are talking about a company improving (with no extra costs for the users) his own product. Yes they had a deadline, something wasn't at the quality level expect so they delayed without causing any issue for the users. The extra stuff when ready will be released.

At the end of the day is always Halloween in dead by daylight, not big deal!

  • Congrats for the job, must have taken looong time to do. Some are good, some to op and some just fun... Nevertheless you try hard to follow the flo of the game so, great job. I hope some devs will check something out of this, same good idea are there to use. Here my favorite my friend.

Crow bait is really cool, easy and make sense while useful.

Hex: Tangled Web sound nice from a killer point of view and the design is creepy enough to fit in, just not sure if it will be to op in certain maps.

Hex: prison escape is fun as hell but:what if both Gates are open at the same time?

Bed of thorns sound nice and different even from a survivor point of view.

Booby trap is challenging, I like it.

Ghost story, I am in love with this, even more jumpscare.

Clockwork is cool but really hard to pull it of, don't wanna imagine a 4 stack bringing this...

Bloody the water is useful and clever.

Jerry-rigged sound op but the drawback are heavy enough to make it viable.

Diligence is really team-work focus and we do need that.

Bear burden is amazing just for the concept of it.

Switcheero I just gona paste this: I don't really understand it, but I don't question it. Hehe

  • Sorry this is a bit off topic but, I am going to reach 50 very soon with my first killer, 🎭 question is: prestige my killer will just give me skin part for him? Thanks

  • The amount of answer let us all understand that the debate was necessary.

Many of you give really good answers, the focus point here is simple: from a balance point of view it will be disastrous?

That is the core of the discussion, but here we are shifting to other problems that honestly I do not see. Lot of you complain about the toxicity of the community, well let me say dbd is exactly like every other games, you have the toxic people and the genuine one. Lol, ow, dota, Cs, cod, battlefield, Sot, pubg, fornite... What's the difference?? None! People are people and we can't change that, so if devs think that this feature will brake the game well, I welcome this choice and I appreciate all your passion in this post.

Honestly, The better the perks you get on your killer the better you will. And it also depends on who you're playing..Some killers aren't good for all round map pressure and some are. You just gotta find your groove and once you do..You'll be slaying people in no time! I have faith in you! :D

Appreciate it, I do really. I main doc and freddy, I find them really funny to play with, I'll do my best to butcher them all!

  • Thanks @Carlosylu for the citation, the idea of a pre match chat is amazing imo. Not breaking atmosphere in game, giving you around 60 sec to organize something, useful and not game braking. Congrats

  • I would like to say something: main killer here and a noob one (I am honest with myself, I play for the fun... Because is the only good thing I can get out of it hehe).

I would like to be able to slug 4 man with 5 gen and gg.

Last time I try to slug to snowball and keep the chase constant... Well after 5 minutes that I downed 1 and 2 more rise from the ground like and hydra... Well I stop it, there were 60 survivors against me. Joke aside is not even that easy to just slug and win at my low noobish lvl.

Some credit to the 'boring' killer

  • @UgyBoogie said:

It would absolutely ruin the game. The game isn't build around a voice chat. A lot of perks and powers of the killer would lose their viablity if survivors were able to communicate freely. This goes hand in hand with the issue many have with SWF groups, cause they are able to communicate via third party programs. The overall game wasn't build around communication.

That said, even my own personal opinion is strongly against voice chat. I've got nearly 3k hours, all of them as either killer or solo survivor. And if the game had voice chat, I'd mute it 24/7. The lack of communication is precisely one of the appealing things for me.

Thaks to all of you for the answers.

I understand and you guys have a point but still: we have the choice to not to join the voice chat in order to don't be bother by screamers, teachers, troll... And you are right sometimes they can be annoying!

From and atmosphere point of view yes, indeed alone with no way to communicate is more immersive and challenging... So I do agree that a chat will ruin something in the game.

But as someone says here: why not a lobby chat during the 60 seconds before the match. Like being all together around the fire camp trying to figure out a strategy before the massacre begin. I wouldn't mind that

  • My freddy will be like and infestation for your nightmares in Halloween!

I am looking forward to seeing you soon in the fog.... Friends!

  • The dude that make this is an incredible artist, check out is plague music... Amazing!

  • Main killer is here, I do tunnel Steve but is an impulse... Cmon we all are hostages of the Entity, in a dark scary foggy place... And behind the corner you see a dude with an ice cream uniform!!! What you want us to do? Order a cone? Hehe joking

  • @UlvenDagoth said:

Killer is much much more stressful. You are on a time crunch, you have to deal with 4 people, you have to deal with 16 perks. You have to watch your moves, keep the chase as short as you can cause the others are working gens. You have to remember how to play your Killer to the best you can. You have to deal with alot of the maps being against you. You have to deal with questionable perks and Add-ons. YOU ALWAYS NEED MORE ADD-ONS.

There is alot more stress on Killer side I feel, and I have played both.

Loving the" always need more addon" haha 😂

  • Well add a bit of uncertainty and fear I think is possible, as before me other people already write, no matter what is implemented we will get used to it and not scary anymore. So why not adding some randomness to the game. Today what ever sound we ear we already know where it come from and the meaning.

Let's add some thunder here and there, some light and distant and some really powerful close to us, randomly generated every x and y seconds.

Let's add some dynamic light, the light goes off in one parte of the map and then comes back, then all the map got no light, then again and always generated randomly.

Let's put some scream in the distance, some weird noise behind us sometimes... Little stuff to always feel that the killer can be anywhere and we are not safe at all in the fog!

  • Thanks to all of you, I understand that my post make sense for low level killers, I will probably get used to the way higher level killer must play. Make sense, I already struggle now sometimes to kill them, give them freedom at high level must be defeat for us. Cheers always useful guys!

  • @BigBlind7994 said:

has to be a survivor main that never played alot of killer that writes those rules :D

Main killer, i played survivors few times... I just got 80 hours in game. Being a begginer doesn't mean frustrated 😤

  • @Carlosylu said:

Good sir... Killer main here... Red Ranks... If you LIVE for the 4k... If you "accidentally" tunnel the first survivor and then play as you should you'll practically always get that 4k... I was a "nice" killer who never tunneled, until I got that you need to do it to get higher in red ranks...

I'll tunnel the 1st kill every now and then and then change to a "nice killer" who doesn't camp nor tunnel the other 3... But it's just a strategy taht works really good

Unfortunately I am not at you level, not even close. I do read and understand what you said, so at high level tunneling the first one means almost always a total defeat for survivors? Didn't know that and thanks for sharing, I should probably change the title adding: ..... For beginner!

    Haha thanks for the answer

Ps: i am not gonna say this but I am curious to try what you said... But I never said that! 🤣

If Survivors swarm around a hook, I will stay there. If the hook is in my patrol path, I'll stay near it. I will never allow a free unhook.

If a Survivor runs right in front of me, I will down them, regardless of when they were hooked. If I feel like tunneling one Survivor, I will. It is simply efficient.

Everything you said is fine, you are not focusing on someone on purpose, so I do agree with you, the easy rules I wrote ofc needs to follow the flo of the game. I am the first to kill a survivor no matter how many times he went down if he's just in front of me. But we both don't chose to ignore everyone else and just kill kill kill the guy. So I do agree with you

  • @Pulsar said:

Yeah, just gonna ignore this one...

Why so? The forum is here to have an exchange of ideas, so please why would you ignore this post? Thanks for the answer

  • @Centrum said:

    Yeah..no.

If I hook someone and his friends are 3 feet away. I'mma camp. They don't deserve a free unhook for playing bad.

If I chase a Survivor and down him and he has a key & the hatch is visible. I'mma tunnel him so he can't use it to escape/allow others to escape.

You're rules basically say 'Give the Survivors free unhooks/escapes for...reasons'.

No, what you do is right in that moment, camping a hook is not downing a survivor 3 metres from hit just waiting to be destroyed.... Camping hook means being stationery so is impossible to unhook.

Tunneling someone with key is not tunneling but making difference between win or lose. In talk in general, only 2 rules to follow with ofc situational exceptions as you said.

    Cheers for the answer

  • Edit: I write this because some times ago I did the mistake myself to interrogate me on the correct behaviour as a killer.... I was wrong any behaviour is right, don't worry and don't stress yourself, you chose to be a killing machine, so be it!

  • This is my opinion: we should have a new killer eg:

Vampire style killer with ability that target one survivor, the survivor targeted will change to first person view and tier of blood will drop on the screen for a limited time.

Why this? First is a new cool ability and is far from useless, first person compare to third person is already scary and the field of view is limited, second with the tier of blood is even more limited making it a scary new way to escape a killer!

  • Well, here is the story (sorry for some errors my main language is not English!)

We are a group of 5 people all 30+, we all have our life, job and family but from 15 years ago until now when we want to relax and have some genuine fun we switch on our pc and play...

Growing up the tastes changed, from competitive fps to some more relaxed game until dbd makes his appearance in our free time.

Was few months ago, bored of our relaxing evening on Sot, navigation and freedom was boring after a while... We turn of our pc, grab few bottles of beer and start to play some old school table game. We had fun, some fresh fun until one of us ask: "is there any game that feels like a table game to play on pc? Something funny and challenging, where is not the balance important but the fun of it."

After few days of research here we are, all 5 of us. When the group is online we always go on costum match, 1v4? Something can be more fun then this? Laughing and screaming like teenagers, always something new happen, always a story behind a match. This is my story with dbd, more then the competition we love the genre, the pace but even more we love that dbd is something that played with good friends ready to have some fun, well it become a priceless IP.

  • "Thanks, come back again!"

    Cit. The Entity

  • Freddy and the doctor.

Is not about the 4k, is about playing with survivors mind.... Fear, constant unsafe, laughter and blood tier...

  • I feel you, noobish killer here as well, I started with some m1 to get used to the role, trapper is easy to start... Then I move to huntress adding pressure on the map... Then the twist, I discover how fun is for me to play with survivors mind and now I do main doctor and freddy. Doctor is just a sick killer, not really effective imo but surely the most annoying, freddy with the right build right now is really strong. Map control all day long and some nice trick for braking loops...

Mine are not really good killers nor I do so good, I am still a beginner but the fun I get put of both my main is priceless so... Play who ever is the most funny and enjoyable killer.

Be safe in the fog! Cheers

Premonition can give you information if the killer is nearby, but... Often times, theyll be busy chasing someone else and had no intent on coming to you. This'll just leave you with a feeling of paranoia until the cooldown is done and you can use the perk again to see that theyve left the area. Spinechill on the other hand will let you know when the killer has his intention locked on your location. Simply wait for it to light up and STAY lit up for afew seconds. It'll turn off and on when the killer is chasing someone nearby, but itll STAY on when the killer is walking to you.

Great explanation. Thank you, I will run spinechill from now on! Thanks community always very helpful

  • @LordGlint said:

Spinechill is one of my go-tos. Using that, you can pretty much pump out gens in peace, and disappear should a killer start making his way toward you.

I was running premonition, probably you both are correct, spinechill is the way to go vs him.

  • Thanks to all of you, I like all the answers so far and all of you are right. It's up to me depending also on the behaviour of the survivors, they troll me? Get hooked (when I can). I also do realize that doctor is one of a kind, annoying and frustrating, but I do think he's really cool to play.

  • Because a survivor teabag my doctor and nope, nobody do that while my sexy lough is on. So hook him and bash him like a pinata!

  • I don't get it. Imo as survivor morì is as scary as the worst nightmare. After I got down once I am always scared that the next will be the last.
