They're fine but still the most annoying killer in the game.
-
If anything he just needs a buff to where it doesn't take him so long to hit evil within 2. Keep him with the short lunge but up his movement speed without add ons.
Certain maps do him no favors trying to become a average movement speed killer if it takes you forever to get where the survivors are.
-
I'll keep it 100, I'm likely taking a month break after halloween is over. Most of the killers I enjoy using are average to low tier (Myers main) and its just becoming less and less fun. Couple that with mmr and the annoyance of boon totems and the meh halloween event I think a break is much needed

I think people are overvaluing importance of licenses compared to gameplay.
When I first played this game it drawed me in without even seeing the licensed characters first.
I get it that licenses draw people in but this game wouldn't be dead without them imo.
Maybe not dead but it certainly wouldn't as popular without them imo

Hellraiser hasn't seen a new movie in years, so most likely the rights to the character is probably dirt cheap which is why we're getting that before Candyman.
There was a movie 3 years ago that wasn't too bad, at least compared to Hellworld. Hopefully the remake isn't too bad.
-
As a die-hard Hellraiser fan thank you for this summary that let's people know just how different but amazing that world Clive Barker created is. It's got arguably one of the richest lore in horror fiction you'd find anywhere.
If they don't make Kirsty as the Hellpriest a skin then I'm all for either Chatterer or Dr. Channard as a skin.

26 people out of the games entire player base voting yes means include him? That is way too small a sample size

Well I don't think any of the killers added were "popular anymore" as the game is usually the first time I hear about them and they are all pretty old. The most popular one is probably Freddy afaik. Although that can depend on what exactly you mean by "popular".
"don't really hold a candle to them as well." That's all subjective to be fair. To me for example, Myers is just "guy with knife" whose hard to kill or something. Same with Jason. Leatherface is just "Ugly guy with Chainsaw". Personally near my bottom of interesting characters. Although that's probably partially because I didn't experience these as they came out.
Every horror character had their "5 minuets of fame". I've never even heard of Hell Raiser before this chapter. Same with Halloween and Bubbas movie.
Its cool to have these relics of horror as they were important for the genres history, but some more recent editions would be nice for those of us who the old ones don't really have an impact with since we don't really know who they are or experienced it the same way as those who grew up with it did.
There's no reason to keep it exclusively killers from way back when imo. Some more things from the current/recent generation of horror would be nice. At the least things that are at least somewhat still generally known, like the Xenomorph from Alien as that franchise still gets new content and Alien Isolation made a big splash when it landed.
For example, I'm not against Hell Raiser, but when was the last time it got content? 19 years ago. The original movie is 34 years old. Something more recently relevant would be nice is all.
Majority of the killers in this game that are licensed are still EXTREMELY popular not just with horror fans but audiences in general. If the first time you've heard of any of the icons is through DbD then that's more on your part for being unaware than the general population being aware of them. Michael Myers just had a movie drop three years ago to huge success along with a sequel coming this year and then a finale to the trilogy next year. Nemesis just starred in a remake to RE3 what, last year I think? Leatherface is still featured regularly in movies as well. Pinhead is getting both a remake and a HBO series and there was just another hellraiser movie less than five years ago. All these characters, just like the Alien are still getting shine and Alien is old as well. The only exception being Jason and Freddy as they're still caught up in lawsuits.
You could use that stripped to the basics argument with generally anything. Leatherface is a guy with a Chainsaw, Slenderman is just a viral faceless guy in a suit, FNaF is just chucky cheese animatronics that come to life. Behavior is aware that the 80s-90s icons would more than likely bring in more fans and money than anything of recent memory.

@MrPenguin said:
Yeah. Every licensed killer released I'm just like "oh, an old killer whose movie I've never seen, but I see in Halloween shops".
Not to say its necessarily bad, but I would really like some more recent things. As you said they have a lot to pull from like Slenderman, ect.
Would really add to the "oh I know this one" effect that the others lack for those of us who are not ~30+ years of age or just didn't watch a lot of horror in our younger years.
Like people are raving about Hellraiser and I'm just here like "who? why this man got pins in his head?".
To be fair Slender Man isn't really that popular anymore and certainly had his five minutes of fame awhile back. When compared to the horror icons of the 80's a lot of the newer horror characters/creepy pasta don't really hold a candle to them as well.
Definitely give Hellraiser a chance though as it isn't like most of the other horror film killers the game has. Why not give all of them a go as the 80s icons in a lot of ways was the golden era of horror.

Why not Hellraiser fans too?
I think it's more pro vs anti fnaf than just the Hellraiser fanbase to where the anti fnaf crowd is down for literally anything and everything but fnaf.

They're not, I'm sorry. You just watched them as a kid and they formed your taste, doesn't change the fact that hellraiser is known for being pretty garbo even by 80's horrors standards.
That's not a fact but simply your opinion which is cool, agree to disagree. The first two are classics, now if you're saying anything after say.. Hell on Earth or Bloodline let alone Hellbound then you'd have a good point.

Don't get me wrong, chances are it's most likely Hellraiser, but I still think Behavior might surprise us last minute.
I don't know, maybe I'm just holding out hope that it's something else. Because I have zero connection to and know nothing about the Hellraiser franchise.
You're for sure doing yourself a disservice by not checking out at least the first two films. They're different than a lot of the horror films of the 80's with some of the best mythology/lore you'll find in any horror franchise.

I once had a conversation with a flat earther and it reminds me of all the FNAF supporters who are in denial. Don't worry buddy, I'm sure they'll leave a bunch of questionable clues for the next chapter and you'll have your chance to create a bunch of FNAF threads again. Sooner or later the devs will get the memo and add the mechanical teddy bear to DBD.
At this point FNAF fans in a nutshell:

I swear with some of y'all they can literally spell out the word hellraiser and y'all would still deny it.

I'd be all for her Halloween 2 hospital outfit or even a Halloween 1 end of the film shirt with the knife wound on her arm

Fingers crossed he gets in this time with the new movie just around the corner. Hopefully next year we finally get Pinhead.

He'd be the first Killer I wouldn't bother getting. The movie is dumb, and his character design is just as bad.
A movie centered around a urban legend set in a area that most horror films never show featuring a ghostly killer that isn't your typical masked slasher or wearing a pig mask but has a simple design and is based on a short story by one of the best horror writers ever.. Yes this is movie is dumb. /s

Resident Evil is a tough act to follow, not sure Candyman quite does it. Would make sense to use another OC to increase distance before adding in a b tier horror icon. Not that I would complain, would love to see him.
If their next OC is anything like Trickster or Twins, no thanks, just bring on Candyman.

You dont mention the servers at all, because they are fine. You are playing on outdated hardware. Software evolves, and if you arent willing to upgrade, you will feel the results.
Try the PS5 version.
How about you help everyone out with our outdated hardware and buy us PS5's or the new Xbox since apparently to you they're so readily available to buy anywhere and everywhere.
-
Imo gen kicking feels pointless at times so either do something about gen tapping or make kicking one worth it. Maybe it loses 5-7%?
-
He's fine for the most part but they just need to make tier 3 worth using. Who gives a damn if the tentacle is longer? Surely there's something better than that. Take away the speed boost for infecting as that makes zero sense.
But they'll nerf something along the way if they make any adjustments anyway so might as well just learn to use him as is.

Nope.
I went down a couple ranks in a couple hours playing as Nemesis.

The disrespect to Texas Chainsaw Massacre.. boy I tell ya. It's a classic regardless and in certain ways paved the way for Black Christmas, Halloween and the 80's slasher craze. That dirty, grungy feeling, the bizarreness of it and the black humor. It's pretty genius in how it was banned in so many countries yet has barely any blood in it making you use your mind to fill in what happens. One of the greatest horror films ever and y'all put some respect on Sally Hardesty for being one of the first final girls.
Worst license is Ash vs Evil Dead, I love me some Evil Dead but yeah that just feels like something thrown together.

@Karao_Ke said:
His "infection" is such a joke. Not only does it give survivors a Sprint Burst away, but there's also no reason to vaccinate against it. All it does is allow Nemesis to injure you, something that should've been available from the start.
If they put some type of penalty onto it such as speed reduction for gens, totems, chests, etc then maybe it would be viable.
It definitely needs some changes to make not getting infected more worth it. At the very least tier 3 should just damage you outright if landed.

so, you're saying that the hits NOT registering AT ALL is totally okay?
Pay them no mind, this person literally believe every killer is overpowered and that survivors have no chance at all against them.
-
After getting my ass kicked on ps4 for the 6th time today as nemesis thanks to the awful optimization only to get greeted with a blue screen I just had to turn it off. Much as I love the character, I'm just not putting myself through it. This is reaching levels of binding of kin bad.
I might as well go back to clown at this point.. at least I can get 2-3k and have fun doing it instead of struggling to smack survivors with the tentacle.
-
I'm starting to strongly believe tier 3 should be more of a threat. While I'm not 100% sure if it does this already but the tentacle should either:
a) damage survivors outright regardless of if they're infected or not
B) if not damage, then cause them to go into the dying state in a certain amount of time if they don't use the anti-virus.
None of that matters though if it isn't a slog playing as him with the bad frame rates dropping
-
At this point I'm just continually playing as nemesis because I must hate myself. This is the only game I know that I play where when dlc launches its a heap more bugs and the optimization gets worse and worse

Worse than the twins lol
It really is.. my match as nemesis just froze. I don't mean to talk ill of the devs but do they test this game on every available platform before release? So far launch day for this chapter has been a absolute disaster low key
-
@whycantIwin said:
what do they get? a killer that freeze your game on console, can't even play the map that comes with this chapter, the grind, the skins prices, all the perks to know about, the layouts, the powers, poor them, they come for RE and they get this mess, I pity them.
They're definitely in for a rude awakening, lol. This patch is a mess
-
Sucks I didn't get to play on the RCPD map but I have a good time with Leon and Jill, loving their dlc outfits (sorry Redfield's).
My first nemesis match would have been better if the optimization wasn't so poor you couldn't get land a tentacle strike
-
To the OP oh yeah, I just played my first nemesis match and it was so frustrating. Trying to aim with the tentacle just for the game to freeze or stutter. The optimization is pretty bad..

At this time, I am not seeing the RE add-on available in the playstore. Is it not actually available currently there and must be purchased in the game store??
If you're on playstation i find it through the playstation store through the actual games page and then went to add ons
-
I'm sure the devs can figure out some mechanic for chucky where the hook will lift them up or something, similar to deathslinger's gun reeling them in.
-

Eh, I don't see pinhead working that way.
The cinobites play by certain rules.
Largely that it takes desire to activate the puzzle box. You basically cannot be tricked into activating it.
You also cannot trick someone into doing it for you.
But if the survivor feels like the puzzle box will free them from the trials, and entity, or they prefer it, they might want to use it.
Maybe the couple from hellraiser one, or two looking to use blood to revive someone?Yeah they definitely had a sense of code in the first two but once hell on earth came pinhead pretty much did whatever he wanted
-
If it's original hopefully it'll be more fun than Red Dead Undead Nightmare and Tyrone Biggums.
Betting on an Until Dawn dlc tho.. maybe this killer won't slow the frame rate so much.
-
Survivor: 6-7.5/10, I'm good at keeping a low profile and knowing when to rescue, do totems and when to do gens but sometimes I make mental mistakes running loops. I'm also pretty altruistic at times which backfires in my face.
Killer: 8.5-9/10, I know how to mind game and mostly when to drop chases. I have my good and bad games but I tend to struggle when I fall for survivor antics with flashlight clicking and stuff. I just beat myself up over silly stuff
-
Even though he's my true main I'll typically play Michael every now and then but October I play nothing else but Myers, it fits after all
-
I really hope it's licensed as I feel this previous chapter was really lacking and lately I've enjoyed the licensed ones a lot more than the original stuff. Maybe one year, perhaps 2049 we'll finally get a werewolf type killer
-
Its almost as if the devs never turned on a console so they can see the disadvantage they have inputting things let alone testing the patches they put out..
-
The devs might as well had just made it pc exclusive
-
If anything I'd just adjust his ability to get out of tier one quicker as sometimes it's a struggle to get out of it with swf.
-
They better leave their hands off my boy Mike
-
I thought the simpsons tapped out event was shaping up to be lame but this takes the cake. Even worse with the issues on ps4 and to have us play as blight whose bad as is due to technical issues just turns me off the entire event
-
Easily Legion, just everything about them annoys me from their backstory to game play.
I wouldn't delete Bubba but he's super annoying to play against
-
It's hilarious that BHVR can come up with all these intricate designs but still can't do a decent licensed face
-
I didn't read the patch notes but was the killer animation glitch even touched?
-
He's certainly more fun to go against than Legion
