  • I hope Jason finally enters the fog, I've been waiting way too long for him.

Besides him, I predict it will either be Predator or Stranger Things.

You made the post - if you wanted top 4 you could've said top 4 instead of 3. 😂

Unusual stuff you got there, but it does seem pretty cool. I might even check Serial Mom.

And yeah I guess should've made it top 4 😅

What if you don't have fun using those tactics. What you should then you but you still want to win? For those players nerfing tunneling but buffing killers would be the best option. I believe most players find tunneling unfun but still most killers want to win more than lose/depip so they are forced to tunnel. Before there was at least motivation to spread hooks BBQ bonus and old pop goes to weasel/ruin. Gens just seems faster than ever too.

If you don't have fun using those tactics, just don't use them.

There are a hundreds of perks and add-ons you can use. In-game there are also like 5 ways to kill a survivor (hooking, bleeding-out, end-game, mori's/ability-kills, ...). People just need to be a bit more creative in the way they kill.

Yes, tunneling and camping are the most straight forward ways to get your W's. But that doesn't mean they're the only option you have.

  • Honestly, just play however the hell you want. A killer's objective is to kill, so do just that.

Yeah I guess camping, tunneling, whatever; may be bit annoying for the survivors. But does that really mather for you as a killer though? As long as you have fun doing the thing you do, I don't see any problem in using some "nasty" tactics to win your game.

  • I have (sadly) noticed that Sadaka has a "secret" jumpscare in the killer lobby. Took me around 5m to try to get it back again, so it's quite rare.

It got me hard while reading her power ;(

  • It's so future updates won't be as large as they are now.

    Pain now, pleasure forever ;)

People are being obtuse and contrarian for the sake of it, I swear. Players were targeting POC while wearing the masks. The masks were being used as a tool in that act by those individuals. Players have voiced that they were uncomfortable with the masks to begin with. The tool is being removed to prevent players from using it in that manner in the future. This is not difficult to understand.

It may be a tool those people use, but it's one of many in DBD. If the devs are starting to act that way, why not remove all which could be used as a tool for racism.

Also, the fact that people are uncomfortable with the masks is kind of of no importance. It's a horror game, there are many things people feel uncomfortable about. There were people uncomfortable with the fact that you have to option to kick Victor, shouldn't mean the devs should delete Victor aswell.

Michael Myers is a terrible Killer right now, very underpowered and in a horrible state. He needs a re-work to update his kit and make him good. He is the most famous Killer on dbd's roster and it's sad to see him being the lowest tier of trash

A rework completely changes something, in this game always for the worse.

A buff makes something stronger, without changing it per say. Like Wraith, his changes were numerical (movement speed). A buff, not a rework.

If that is what you want for Myers, then perhaps it should be taken into account.

"Bubba's one REALLY was necessary though, it was just straigth on annoying the play as him."

    Not, it was not.

Bubba's weakness came from his movement speed penalty while charging the chainsaw, and from his add-ons not working properly. This could have been addressed without creating that "charges' system, or whatever the hell they call it

Mini-rework is a rework as well.

A rework comes with buffs and nerfs, and that's what I want.

Apparently we each played Bubba differently then.

I had occasional problems with the chainsaw not fully charging. Charging just not long enough, or too long. So the rework really helped there.

  • @GeneralV said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2605470#Comment_2605470

Trapper and Hag were never reworked per say, they received buffs here and there. Some of which were good, some of which were bad, but in essence they are the same killers.

Bubba's was unnecessary. They could have removed his movement speed penalty while charging up his chainsaw, and make his add-ons actually work properly, and he would've been in a good spot. Now he is just annoying to face.

Freddy's is the most atrocious and infuriating change BHVR has ever done.

Reworks are not helpful in the slightest. They are a disease, a type of evil.

    I hate all of them.

The Halloween Chapter must stay untouched, for its own sake.

A rework doesn't have to be a full revamp.

Trapper and Hag gained lots of little buffs which helped them a lot in the current meta. Yes, it isn't a full on rework, but they were changed nonetheless.

Bubba's one REALLY was necessary though, it was just straigth on annoying the play as him. He was just a worse Hilbilly. Now he's more unique and is mostly the same to face against.

    On Freddy we agree though.

Oh, good tap dancing christ. Halloween Kills was awful! Tommy in it? It was just, no and the survs were full out blown and true idiots, no. Micahel the very first Halloween film set a president, he was an icon that is where a lot of good stuff and true old movie stuff came from, even Rob Zombies first adapatation and reboot of Halloween was better then the new Halloween reboots! and sadly I have t watch Halloween ends cos I watched the first 2 and I don't like to not end such just by 2.

That's your personnal opinion I guess, but REALLY. The Rob Zombie onces were trash. Like absolute trash. But that's my opinions as well I guess.

  • @TheDarkTyrant said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/291633/petition-for-halloween-chapter-rework

Well not really. I don't know if you know but the Michael in game is EXTREMELY accurate since he is based in the FIRST movie. The new movie made him worse since he is basically Jason 2. A Jason clone. Michael is simpler and that is the version of Michael they got. Halloween. Not Halloween Kills. The new movie wasn't really that great so why would they adapt that version of him? Now reworking it, yes they should. But saying Michael is inaccurate is basically the saying Nemesis is accurate which both things are just completely false. If any petition is started for reworking because pf inaccuracy it is Resident Evil since that one got the absolute worst treatment.

I don't really think the same thing. Yes, Michael is a stalker so in that aspect he is faithfull to his first movie. But he isn't only a stalker, he is pure evil, he is the boogey man. And that's what the new Halloween movies were about and that's what I think our Mikey is missing.

  • @GeneralV said:

    I will pass.

Reworks are nothing but downgrades that ruin everything they touch.

And the Halloween chapter, largely responsible for DBD's popularity, must not be ruined.

I'm not so sure about that one, most reworks they did now were pretty helpfull. Like the Bubba, Trapper and Hag one.

We won't talk about Freddy though..

His lore is actually terrifying because it’s realistic. Somebody like Freddy Krueger isn’t scary because you know you’d never encounter anything like him in real life. Ji-Woon is somebody that could murder you or your family members. He’s just a legit psychopath who gets off on torturing people and hearing them scream in pain. That to me, is a lot scarier in itself than anything any of the current killer roster bring to the table.

I love horrors but they don’t scare me. What scares me are the nut jobs walking around in the world that could do something unspeakable to somebody I love. That’s who Ji-Woon represents. Real horror.

I agree his lore is pretty messed up, but its all about the looks. Not everyone reads the lore, so what are they supposed to think when they see your average bloody Joe with a baseball bat running up to them. Same with Doctor, his story is pretty #########, but the thing that makes him scary and fit in is his looks. You should feel intimidated by the killer. You shouldn't feel the urge to dance with them....

  • @NomiNomad said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1988957#Comment_1988957

Horror is subjective. I personally don't find it scary either, but that doesn't mean someone else doesn't. I guarantee someone finds it scary.

Just because you or I don't like it, doesn't mean we can say the game is dying, or that they should be ashamed because they didn't put in what you or I would've wanted. That's not how it works.

I'm not saying the game is going to die because of this, but come on. There's NO WAY ANY player of this game who thinks a guy in bloody flashy clothes is scary. Might as well be scared of P3 Nea...

  • @FrenziedRoach said:

Look, it's okay to not like a character. I support that.

But some of these reasons I see make me chuckle. I mean, you talk about how he doesn't look like a killer, and I'm reminded of Wednesday Adam's and Halloween costume of a homicidal maniac... which was her normal outfit because "we look like everybody else"

Look, if you don't like how the character looks, that's fine. But to sit there and say "They don't like the character because they don't look like a killer" is laughable. You are either not sure why you don't like the look and am pulling something out of your ass or you're uncomfortable with the idea that we as human beings are monsters deep down and being reminded of that is scary.

So if your average Joe or Megan turns out to be a serial killer I should be fking terrified by them?????????

  • @NomiNomad said:

How dare the Dev's try to branch out? How dare they cater to more types of horror? I only want scary men with masks and knives, thank you very much!

They should be ashamed for trying different things, or catering to another part of their audience!

Jesus Christ. This reminds me of the Smash community whenever they get a character that isn't Western.

I thought this was a horror game, how is this Asian Joker knock-off scary? I'm ok with trying with different kinds of horror, but this? I mean, you might as well put Mathieu Cote in the game and it would be scarier.

  • DBD just needs to finish the list of the big boys: they just need Jason and Chucky.

Chucky will probably be first because of licensing problems with Jason.

  • Ofcourse I'm choosing the most recognized slasher of them all

  • @Karao_Ke said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1899841#Comment_1899841

I mean, it's the same with DBD. There's a terror radius warning you the killer is near even though you might not see them. Same applies to Friday The 13th.

    True

  • @Karao_Ke said:

I said this on another post but I think it'll apply here.

I mentioned how in Friday The 13th, whenever you're close to Jason, your screen gets darker & your HUD slowly disappears until he goes away. If they implemented this in DBD somehow, it would not only make the game scarier, but also harder. This "effect" would obviously go away when you're in a chase. The point of this is to genuinely make you feel like you're in danger.

I always found this a bs feature. You always knew Jason was close even if you didn't see him.

  • @Milo said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1899584#Comment_1899584

    Yes.

And those are supposed to have jump scares by design. And if you get scared by them once in a match, you probably won't get scared the 2nd time.

I guess we're totally different in that aspect I guess...

  • @JPA said:

It doesn't really matter how scary something is as playing the game for 10s/100s of hours just leads to desensitisation. Once you've played the same killer or map 20x it loses its surprise/shock factor.

You sure? I still crap my pants when a Myers or Ghostface pops out of nowhere. Or when I think I escaped the Hag and she just out in front of me.

  • Everything is possible, so I would say yes. But it probably won't come out for a long time, because there are so many other more recognizable killers :/

  • They should make the maps more enclosed. Now you can see the killer from a mile away and just run away without worries. For example in Lery's I'm always tense because I don't know from which door the killer could jump out.

  • I was thinking exactly the same thing. DBD REALLY hates to give out iridecent shards I guess.

  • @jrinkwater said:

Its pretty easy when the opponent refuses to respect the killer is a threat.

You might be shocked how often purple and even red ranks won't even hide behind something and self care near the hook.

Even when I don't have NC, I can still hear them whimpering. Tunneling is quite frequently effective when your enemy assumes you're an idiot.

The important word here is 'when'. Only time survivors just stand right in front of me are when they have ds, borrowed and more of that bs...

  • @EvilJoshy said:

Looking at the killer causes some sort of debuff. I wonder if that would make the killer effective at looping? Most people look backwards when running to see what the killer is doing. If they look at him too many times they get hit by some status effect. Sounds fun but I bet the survivors will say "OP! Plz Nerf!!!!"

Don't worry about that, they ALWAYS say that.

  • How is tunneling even an efficient strat? You're wastin SO much time doing that. PRESSURE is the ultimate strat to victory in high rank games.

They make the entity try to sound like a lovecraftian creature according to some lore pieces. Although I agree with your final statement about it being a problem with them being not good or evil.

Then they can maybe solve this by making a reason for the Entity to do the killing itself.

  • I totally agree, it would be cool to see killers do a weapon-twirl or something. Though, I don't understand what makes it more competitive.

Lol it's a buisness. We need to to keep the game fresh and updated. If we want to continue playing this game then no these character and cosmetics should not be free. Those of you that can't afford them or that just don't want to buy/support them then just don't. At the same time don't make ridiculous claims like this please and Thank you. Enjoy the game :)

My point is that the iridescent shards price for characters is way too much. You need like 18 levels for getting 1 character which is the equivalent of playing like 20 hours. FOR 1 CHARACTER OF LIKE THE 20. Then you could get the problem of not liking your purchase. BHVR's answer? "Too bad, better luck next time!". Yes, you can buy it with real money, but why should you if you can get it for free? Having to pay money to get the licensed DLC's i get, but still..

    @Ohnoes said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1832273#Comment_1832273

Even for cosmetics in a game there are times where refunds make sense. Example: BHVR changing cosmetic prices one day after releasing them with no announcement. I don't feel OP's claim is a good refund reason but I do feel that situations like that most definitely are. And what happened in those situations? People were not refunded. Because BHVR has a terrible refund policy. It isn't as if it can't be amended. They choose to have one. Another thing that in regards to cosmetics would be amateurish mistakes like clipping, distortions, etc. Those aren't petty reasons. They're legitimate problems with quality control and shady business practices.

As for the "I didn't like it" reason: Amazon is a prime example(No pun intended) of a company that has a good refund policy. Steam allows returns in under 2 hours of playtime. EA allows you to refund within a similar window of time. The bios don't matter for characters. They have no influence whatsoever. You can watch videos but those videos to not express feeling. You don't know if something feels right to you unless you try it. The one thing you can say is that PTB is possible for that. Even then, because the PTB doesn't have the release ready character that is likely not going to be right.

    Also this ☝️

Here's part of their EULA (find it here)

If you can't be asked to read that, it basically says that DBD has "Virtual Goods" (characters/cosmetics) able to be bought with virtual currencies (shards, cells, bloodpoints), all of which have no monetary value. Any purchases made are "non-refundable and non-returnable and are not redeemable for any sum of money or monetary value or virtual currency from BHVR at any time". In lay-mans terms, anything you buy in-store isn't refundable.

AKA no, you can't get a refund.

[¬⏠¬] They should atleast lower the price for buying characters then or even make them free. I already payed 20 bucks for this game..

  • @CLB198 said:

Animations would be super cool. Survivor faces don't animate at all, even when they're making noise (apart from screaming) like when they're injured. It'd make the game much higher quality if they could do that.

Ikr, like when the survivors opening an exit gate they should show a sprinkle of hope, when they are freaked out their eyes should jump from one side to another, when having the exposed effect they should look terrified, ... But no, just the same old bland face.

  • I don't think they said anything, but I would assume they are going to update all the maps first and then update survivor and killers appearances and animations.

  • Dev's talked a lot about alternate objectives for survivors, endgame but then for the beginning, ... But nothing really happens. The chapters they design are really creative imo, but gameplay is average (Not the Twins, they are great :) ). Graphics upgrade are also nice I guess...

  • When killer: I kill as fair as possible, not when the survivors really piss me off

When survivor: I rescue good survivors but ditch noobies

  • @TheRockstarKnight said:

If you play enough of both sides/are willing to pay to complete definitely.

My advice? Don't worry about it.

Don't let the stupid charms and cosmetics on the Rift be your reason to play DbD. There's nothing on any Rift really worth stressing over, just play the game and have fun.

The Legion cosmetic IS slick though.

Oh, I see. But so far this seems like a decent idea for Jason. Even though I really don't want Jason in DBD due to: 1. He has his own game that can allow him to demonstrate his potential and 2. I don't feel like DBD would do any good for him. But after seeing this, my second reason by be swayed.

The Friday the 13th the Game's servers are officialy closed which makes the game dead. So there's kind off room for Jason imo.

I like the idea of throwing Survivors around a lot lmao, would be cool if you could throw them into other Survivors to damage/stumble them as well.

Hard to tell how strong it is without knowing how long it take to charge the meter.

Unlucky day looks really bad to me.

Throwing survivors against survivors could stun them both momentarily maybe.

Just a quick charge for the grab, you should be able to use it in chase. So what about 1.5 sec or something.

Unlucky day makes it that survivors around obsession gain decisive strike-like skillcheks, which should give the obsession a sense of solitude because the others keep ditching them. I thought that would be a pretty good perk, having a 3 v 1 either way.

As long as they fix the issues with Victor (which they seem to be aware of) then I think this will be a really decent chapter. Might just be my 2nd favorite chapter of the year.

After the Silent Hill chapter I suppose.

  • Lets' start:

Alien, Jason, Chucky, Springtrap, Pennywise, Candyman, mr.X, Samara, The Grudge, Servant Grunt, Chris Walker, SCP 106 or 173, The Purge, The Thing, Sam (Trick 'r Treat), The Nun, Jeepers Creepers, Herbert West, The Strangers, The Babadook, The Shining, Uzumaki, Night Gaunts, ...

After downing a survivor, chucky does a voodoo curse to possess and control them. The possessed survivor picks up the doll and you walk them toward a hook. The survivor can struggle out as normal, but you can use the knife carrying doll to damage other survivors. Finally, the possessed survivor can hook themselves

Or make Chucky threaten them towards a hook like he always does in the movies. Then maybe the Entity could take over.

  • After seeing Victor I also immediatly thought of Chucky. Who knows, maybe he finally has an ACTUAL chance of getting into dbd.

Only things that would be hard to find out are carrying and hooking the survivors.
