The solution is not to just slam the DC penalties back on, and pretend everything's right.
You should honestly take into consideration and think about WHY people DC. Find the cause and start eliminating the biggest ones.
Why do people insta-DC against Nurses and Blights? You know the answer to that, and you haven't done anything about it yet, despite the countless posts on the forums over the last several months. You can start here. Ignoring the problems is not good for the game or the players.
People insta-DC against Nurse and Blight for the same reason they insta-DC against EVERY other killer- they are selfish, entitled, crybabies. Stop justifying DCs, you're making the problem worse by doing that.
Survivors constantly DC for other reasons too. Someone cleansed against Plague? Devour Hope? Got downed first? Failed a pallet save? Someone got downed trying to help them wiggle out? Because they thought it would look funny to DC? They got slugged? They want to prevent a Myers achievement?
BHVR needs to implement a system that keeps track of how often survivors DC, so that they are more likely to queue with other survivors and killers that DC often. MMR + DCR.
DCs within a SWF should effect ALL of the SWF's DCR. Then SWF's will think twice about playing with someone they know might DC, further punishing players who DC. This will also help prevent DC's due to slugging or hatch.

Lol, did u at least research anything before comenting? reassurance gives u 30 secs, a gen takes 90 i dont know how 30 seconds is almost 90. maybe math wasnt your best subject at school, and i was terrible at math
Reassurance gives you 30 seconds on top of the 60 seconds per hook state. 90 seconds.

They should just make camping more skill-based if that is even possible, so that bad killers can't benefit from it but good killers can.
That will solve a great many problems, like bad killers skipping the whole chasing part of the game.
I played solo q survivor against Oni earlier today. He camped endgame (without his power). He was camping for a grab so I went for the unhook while a Steve bodyblocked for me. We survived.

MMR does not reset, the only time it ever has was when it was first introduced since they used MMR data from prior tests but wanted a clean slate to start on.
Oh. I feel silly. lol
Anyways, it seems like a SWF is the only reasonable way to get out of that situation, but yea.. definitely hard without comms. When I played survivor more often I would just add anyone that did well in games, eventually I had a silent swf. But even if you find one or two others to play with you're going to increase your escape chance a lot

Ranks/Grades and MMR are too separate things. Ranks/Grades do not contribute to matchmaking, it's just a monthly incentive to play the game for Bloodpoints. MMR is what calculates who you are paired with/against.
I'm aware but I was under the impression that MMR resets along with the Rank each month.

I dont really know how to put this, but Im stuck in a situation that is VERY difficult to get out of.
I recently got a PC and swapped from PS4 to PC (leaving stuff behind obviously), as a result, getting a new account (through Steam) basically has me at bedrock MMR, paired with brand new players that just hide the entire game.
Most matches result in me completing 3-4 generators and dying on first hook by either getting face-camped for running the killer too well (therefore teammates do not try to save me out of fear) or my teammates would rather continue hiding instead of going for the save.
Im stuck in a situations where I do everything yet never escape, and my teammates do nothing and also never escape.
https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ACDMD85NI69C/screenshot-2848-29.png
In this example, my only decent teammate was the Yui, they lasted pretty long in chase and did generators. My two other teammates hid for the entire match and both were producing constant noise notifications from having 3 AFK crows on them.
Also, I had spectated a match that lasted until the servers closed due to a prolonged time limit... 2 people were hiding from the start of the match FOR THE FULL MATCH TIMER (basically taking the game hostage for the killer as well).
Rank resets tomorrow. So in the chance for a fresh start; dodge lobbies.

I know this post may sound like I’m over reacting but seriously sometimes I feel like they are hacking. Like sometimes they would still gen rush even without gen rushing perks Prove Thy Self or band new part.
I’m really getting tired of these type of squads. I know they had always been annoying and usually there’s nothing a killer can do sometimes. I don’t mean to come off like I’m ranting but I feel like from my personal experience I keep getting them even I reported them and block them. I know blocking sometimes doesn’t work and I know the hacking issues are being fixed. I know that kind of stuff takes time and I appreciate for what is coming to help people deal with hackers. I apologize for making another us vs them type post. I didn’t mean to come off like that.
But yeah it’s getting really annoying even thought I would bring perks to help me with gens or at endgame and I know sometimes they don’t work, well at least from experience. So yeah I also understand camping, tunneling, and solo are still messy. I also understand sometimes killer has to camp and tunnel even though again sometimes doesn’t work especially against really good survivors and SWF.
Otz did a yt video showing the variations in speed for repairing, healing, etc. It's too unpredictable- so as a killer you can't really tell who's cheating unless they are very obvious about it.
Also.. killers don't know what to expect and I feel that the gen and healing times pressure some killers into tunneling and camping much more/sooner than they would naturally chose to do.

Fair enough. Obviously not an artist, wish I was. I suspected that as an explanation but yeah.
Anyway that would mean retconning written words but I guess if you don’t use multiple universes you are forced to either retconning Jeff’s lore, the base lore or Julies tome. I’d pick Julies tome and make them come up with the name of the Legion sooner. Even though the name is part of the whole point of that story it’s not a big deal.
Also considering the seriousness of what they just did as well as hiding the body in the car of the person who had got fired from the store that day it’s likely they’d get caught very quickly unless they went on the run and even then. Frankly I wouldn’t like that direction. It simply changes too much that is well established.
Possibly, Ormond is a small remote town out in the mountains and it was the 90's. Joey also didn't get fired that same day, he had just got fired from there recently.
But if the entity took them that night,
Feb, 1996: Susie "skipped school" for the chinese new year and stabbed a man in the back.
Aug, 1996: Photo of the Legion in Ormond.
Julie and Frank wanted to kill. So maybe that night Frank saw an opportunity to test Susie, and convinced her to stab him. Her actions were specifically to impress him, afterall. While Susie didn't want to kill the cleaner, we don't actually know why she didn't. She might have been having a panic attack from chaos in her mind when all the sudden her bestfriends were murdering someone.
If Susie stabbed the man with Frank before they all killed together, then it could make sense that the entity took them that night.
Btw.. I just read the description Susie's notebook: she repeatedly tried to come up with a logo for The Legion but couldn't do it.

I actually wrote a tome for Joey or at least in the style I thought it could be using Julies as a base going over some events and some of the occupations Joey held and why he got fired. I’ll show eventually when I put out my Joey to survivor idea out there in earnest with lots of art, the premise being in an alternate universe Joey does not stab the janitor and thus he and Susie get taken as survivors instead. Making good use of the multiple universes thing rather then an excuse to justify 4 Kates being in a game, make a mess of lore and sell cosmetics.
See some things I can justify or like explain like why Frank’s base lore of the stabbing is drastically different from Julies memory of it. Trauma or moments like that can cause people to remember it differently.
Unfortunately other things I cannot explain. As I mentioned earlier according to Julies tome they only come up with the name of the Legion when plotting revenge on the hardware store that fired Joey, but then how do they hire Jeff to do the mural? They are taken by the entity that night. On top of that Julie is an artist in her lore so why hire Jeff at all? I mean maybe she’s not confident in that style but that sounds very unlike everything else we know about Julie.
I mean if it were up to me and I had to clean up that mess I’d simply say different universe, the Legion came up with their name earlier and Julie is a musician and not an artist in the one where Jeff did the mural. However I’d establish that on the most part the base lore and tome comes first (at least for Legion) It’s a hand wave sure but what else can you do. There is still some good in it.
Wouldn't it be simpler to say that they weren't taken that night, instead of suggesting different universes? If they use Joey to further the story and explain what happens next in the woods, they could clean up the mess easily and the rest of the lore falls into place.
It actually makes perfect sense to me that they hired Jeff to do the mural. Being an artist doesn't mean you enjoy, are willing, or even can do any type of art. Sketching people is entirely different from letters. If Julie didn't want to do it, I'd relate to that as an artist who has always hated lettering. However, that's not to dismiss the possibility Frank could have simply got caught up in the moment, liking Jeff's style.
(The Lunar Year was Feb 1996, year of the rat. my bad)

This is from the lore page on the wiki and it's the same in game as of current.
All four were digging in the muddy snow to dispose of the body when Frank spotted something moving through the woods. He grabbed his knife and broke from the group to check it out. The Fog thickened around Frank, becoming so dense that he soon could no longer see ahead. He retraced his steps and stumbled onto an ominous trail. He followed the eerie path, as if called by the darkness. Julie, Susie, and Joey finished digging, but Frank was nowhere to be seen. Julie spotted his muddy footsteps in the snow and the three of them followed the trail, which took them deeper into the woods. When Julie, Susie, and Joey did not return home that night, their parents thought they'd run away with Frank. Each family came up with a different theory. The mood in the town changed, however, when a body was found by an abandoned lodge up Mount Ormond.
There is no other way to interpret that as that they were taken the same night they killed the janitor.
Honestly it's a mess. Part of me likes a lot of what they've got but they need to straighten it out. Especially what is reality and what is 'wishful' thinking. I mean I think I've heard cosmetics aren't canon and I think that's to justify someone wanting to turn Susie into a school age serial killer rather then the base timid girl that she is among other things.
Hopefully they will introduce more lore with Joey, and fill in the gaps in a way that makes the story clear.
Now every way I come up with to make sense of it feels like a stretch and like I'm trying too hard lol.

You’re completely avoiding the point. The best option FOR YOU THE KILLER is to just end the match. You choose not to consider the facts… that you’re just screwing over 3 people for your own convenience. It is not sportsmanlike in any way, shape or form. I didn’t say you were obligated. That’s kind of what I’m pointing out… you’re not obligated to be sportsmanlike… so most all of you aren’t. But own it instead of avoiding the truth.
I main Legion. Let's say after the next rank reset I let every group go that has a DC. Do you realize what that would look like for me?

I have over 1400 hours on this game and honestly you have to be lucky not to have bugs in your game
4/5 times of using dead hard the endurance effect does not work, I have many clips where I'm doing a perfect dead hard but it's just not giving me endurance and I get dropped anyways this is ######### frustrating
I get bugs where I'm stuck in a locker and the killer can't open it, bugs where I get dropped infront of a locker and the killer can't pick me up, bugs where you drop a pallet and the killer still hits you (probably just bad latency issues from your servers) Bugs when you use for the people on a downed teamate while the killer is using mori, bugs when I use specific offerings or items and they I can't use them when ingame,
Just a total garbage game, the more you play the more these bugs becomes obvious and the more it gets frustrating
Just Ircks the ######### out of me when this stuff happens and it's constantly
I played against a Wesker and I suddenly was unable to do anything but click my flashlight. Couldn't vault, use gestures, drop/pick items, literally nothing but run around, crouch, click.
Then another where I was doing locker DS to Head On against a Huntress. She got me out of the locker, I used DS and jumped back in. Then I used Head On and got the killer stun and exhaustion, but she wasn't actually stunned so she just downed me and picked me up anyways.
One time against a Legion my option to use Head On disappeared as soon as he got close so I ended up just fast jumping out..
But... those only happened one time and I don't remember anything else major happening.

If you're using DH correctly and it's never working, and you're constantly hit when dropping pallets, it's probably connection..

Except according to Frank’s or the base lore the entity takes the group that night while burying the body of the janitor. Susie doesn’t have time to develop this way. I agree though her time in the entities realm would likely grow her this way or if she had the chance to develop she would embrace her darker nature.
It is impossible that they were taken that night. The lore doesn't actually say they were, it is just easy to assume that because of how it's written.
Susie's student ID is 1993-1994. It's most likely her Sophomore year ID.
There is a photo of their whole friend group that is dated 1996. (28 August 1996)
Also, this is an assumption: the Lunar Year was most likely the year of the pig.. which was 1995.

The best example is Legion. In their main lore they were kids who wanted to terrorize Ormond not by killing, but by making chaos. They stole ,,Stop" signs, wrecked some stores and robbed some places. Never intending to hurt anyone. Then they kill a Janitor, but its becouse Frank made them do it. Also he was saving Julie. But in one of Suzie's cosmetic we learn that she STABBED a random seller to steal a Jacket.
What is the point of making a lore for lost kids manipulated by ,,Older cooler kid" into killing one person into making a lore about generic 4 man swf with knifes. Doesn't make sense at all
Frank and Julie had already touched the topic of killing together. Even though the Janitor wasn't planned, they were on the same page. Susie wasn't, so she was shocked. That's the origin story lol. Just because she was shocked and hesitant at first doesn't mean she stayed that way.
In the years after that (from the point of the origin story until she was between 18-21 and taken by the entity) we know that she went after the cheerleader that bullied her, the neighbors that she envied the happy life of, literally paints with blood, and even stabs an unsuspecting stranger in back in an alley... "She left him in the cold street, bleeding." just to impress Frank.
Frank may have forced her to take that first step, but being a killer was something she embraced afterward. She kills to impress / fit in with her friends, but also for her own pleasure and revenge.

If that's the case what percentage of High MMR players are SWFs and how many are solo players? I understand "not everyone" but a big portion of High MMR is SWFs and there is no amount of bs that you can tell me that would make me believe otherwise. A BIG chunk of High MMR is SWFs and I know you don't care your sparky attitude towards this tells me that you dont.. Also you wanna talk about "owing the opposition a good time or a break? Again what if the shoe was on the other foot and every chase I teabagged and flashlight clicked? Because that's something that ALOT of killers hate because it's "deemed toxic" lol something that DOESNT AFFECT GAMEPLAY for the killer 😂
Players that are high mmr meet more players that are worth being a SWF with, so ofc there will be more swfs in high mmr trials. A high mmr swf is only strong because the individual players were already strong. They are smart, competitive, productive, not stupid about altruism.
Removing swfs isn't going to make it possible to balance high mmr with low mmr. It might not even stop pregame planning or comms, since all they have to do is turn off crossplay so that they can get everyone into a discord or a party.
I don't suggest that BHVR make major changes that will destroy high mmr trials just because I don't like tbagging.
What I meant by players thinking that the opposing side owes them a good time or a break is things like:
-Hey I gave you my med kit so now you're toxic if you don't become a friendly killer
-Someone DCd so now you should let the remaining 3 survivors have a free win
-I just got unhooked so now I can stand in a doorway to bodyblock you and you're not allowed to hook me again cause that's tUnNeliNg
Players with that mindset are usually in low mmr.

Restrict SWFS to only custom lobbies lol but they won't do this because none cares about solo players
You want to restrict swfs to customs because you associate them with high mmr. High mmr solos and duos ALSO gen rush, are altruistic, productive, etc. They are good, without comms.
It's not about being solo, it's about being low mmr.(where swfs also exist) And yea, I don't care about low mmr. Players that are new and haven't practiced/learned(which can be done in customs), players who don't take the game seriously and don't care about winning, players that think the opposing/enemy side owes them a good time or a break.

Again your talking about teams so right then and there the rest of your words are falling upon deaf ears. 8 times out of 10 these superaltruistic teams are a SWF in which you may need to camp or tunnel but I don't care about that. I am talking about LOW MMR. Solo players and the new girls and guys. SWFS aren't really complaining about camping or tunneling because with the right strategies and comms they can negate that
Also don't forget that CUSTOM GAMES exist, where survivors can enforce whatever rules and perk restrictions they want. But for the sake of bloodpoints, I will say this:
The only change this game should make for low mmr survivors is a game mode where they can face an AI killer.
Seems impossible to balance low mmr and high mmr, so the game should always prioritize high mmr. And btw... high mmr is not limited to swfs.

I would love it to be possible to order characters by prestige level..

Why should he shut it as soon as he finds it? His objective was not shutting the hatch, it was to kill you.
If he shut it immediately:
-You could have been waiting at an exit gate, maybe even with Sole Survivor.
-You could be hiding nearby with a key, waiting for him to shut it and walk away.
-You could hide the rest of the end game collapse just so he had to patrol exit gates for nothing.
Being the last person standing doesn't mean you did or should win. If you know the killer is camping hatch, do gens. If you don't want to do gens, then I guess escaping isn't that important.
"Are you trying to make the killer role braindead?"
To me it sounds like you expected an easy escape, which resulted in him effortlessly killing you.

Players that DC often should be put in lobbies with other players that DC often.

I acknowledge they are more of a time waster for haulting gen work but my personal experiences I saw noone care about them on. Got gens down. Got headgear off. Wasted 4 RBTs. (That's another issue. Trapper has several on the ground to pick up. Huntress has closets. Piggy has a limited amount to carry)
I dunno about anyone else but The Pig doesn't seem like she's worthy of Jigsaw. 🤷♂️

If someone wants my attention so bad in a game that they want to chase me around, try to cut me off and block me when I'm trying to chase other survivors, and click flashlights in my face repeatedly, then guess what? They have my full and undivided attention. I won't pay attention to anyone else and I won't leave their sight. :)

@Nyxsie so I would assume by your POV you are a tunneling killer? You have the freedom to play however you want just like I have the freedom to call you toxic. Now this is basically an assumption that you camp of tunnel do you not get more point if you make the match last longer going after the other players while you have one person on hook because when you make the game play go back and forth it does create a better experience. To also comment on the wait time when I SWF there are several reasons behind why we get nearly 20 min waits which are due to rank, internet as well as my friends and I notice when we play all night the waits get longer and longer. I think a penalty would be better because it will get the killer off of standing there as if afk and give the others more of a chase and altruism score because survivors lose points for not being able to save other survivors so is it not fair that the killer lose points for not even trying to engage in fair game play.
You have the freedom to call me toxic, but you are the one who is ACTUALLY BEING toxic. It is so unbelievably pathetic that you, and everyone sharing your opinions, get on a game and then bash players for player it how the developers intended it to be played! Camping and tunneling are both NORMAL GAME PLAY. It really is sickening how so many survivors want everything they don't like and everything that is challenging nerfed or changed. It's a shame that such an awesome game and community is plagued with such toxic and ignorant people (survivors and killers alike).
I sure as hell hope you do actually go and find a new game, instead of trying to dictate and change this game to your liking. Get over yourself and go play single player Minecraft on peaceful.
Wake up.
-
This just happened to me last night too. Lol. But I found out it is mandatory that you report in game first so nothing I can do I guess even with video proof...
-
I think it's completely fair. I think a lot of people got into the habit of thinking anything they find annoying or challenging should be changed or removed entirely. (Also, thinking they deserve to win. It doesn't matter how good you are, you shouldn't expect to win every game. I swear, sometimes it seems like people want the game to be like 85% different.
You deleted where you said you don't want to play a totem build because you can healer/gen runner. That you don't want to change your playstyle for one hex. You are suggesting changing the game for your playstyle lol.
-
The max I have waited to get in a match was 10 minutes, including loading screens. Usually it's around 3-6 minutes.
Who are you to say that it's not normal game play? People can play how they want. You are making up rules on how people should play.

On topic: I will not sit in a game thats overly toxic. I will DC as I see fit. I came here to have fun.
I posted it here by accident. :( I was debating whether or not I should make a new post in the discussions section but I was hoping a moderator would move the thread.
If someone asked, I'd be commenting on a thread instead of starting one? Besides, I definitely don't ask for private messages with feedback about my gameplay lol.
Quitting the game isn't a play style. If you quit before it loads, you are making everyone have to wait for the game to comprehend this, then start the search process over.
I thought farming was illegal. So I guess I would just change that to breaking the game rules. I saw a survivor and killer working together before to hook and unhook a survivor. Killer never attacked the the farming survivor.

Again, everyone is missing my point entirely. I am a rank one killer main and a rank 3 survivor. I am merely pointing out that the uptick in aggressive tunnelling has increased since the DS change.
You said it's a problem, though. Tunneling is not a problem; it's just a tactic that some choose to do and some choose not to do.
