  • The game was made to be a game without communications. Therefore, SWF is considered cheating. If there was a chat / mic system ingame, SWF would be fine.

    1. Nice essay.

    1. NOED and RUIN are both noob stompers. They won't be effective at lower ranks.

    2. The chances of your totem spawning in front of a survivor are very slim.

    3. There are NOT 3 or 4 totem spawns.

Right, that's why i corrected my initial post with a later one that said there are more than 3-4. You gotta read through posts thoroughly. Believe it or not Survivors spawning next to Hex Totems are not as slim as you may think. Personally i have had more than a few games that i can remember where it has been destroyed before i can even make it there to monitor the area.

Once again ruin is only slightly over rated. I feel that you actually need Ruin at the higher ranks (1 & 2) because the game is that much Survivor favored and its mostly survivor favored because the majority of the maps are bad for Killers. That and SWF of course. So a game can go like; Killer see's Survivor near Hex Totem, Killer chases him or her. SWF tells the others where it is. Its so corny but it is what it is, this is the game. This is why i say that sometimes dual perks, other Hex Totems (although they can get bodied fast too by survivors spawning right next to them) and end game perks are more effective than Ruin. What do you think?

Read your post thoroughly? You just said you corrected it later. I don't check up on posts that I commented on weeks ago. Anyways, It's simply RNG, some totems may spawn next to survivors, some may not. You seem to be pretty unlucky!

    Leave?

You know what, the first time I bought this game, my first matches instantly threw me into the most cancerous toxic little [BAD WORD] I've ever seen that even trumped league of legends cancerous community. Everything from flashlights, to speed hacks, to cursing out their own team mates went down in those games....and that was from this year.....
I woulda left this game back then and got a refund.....but they had a decent report system so I dunno, maybe all those shits got banned....
People leaving, and telling people to leave, doesn't help my pigs queue times....nor does it paint this community with any sort of attraction for people to get into the game.

I meant leave the lobby. Wait a minute for the swf to pass and create a new lobby. How hard is it?

See this is the problem. Killer mains don't want their broken killer nerfed the way survivor mains won't let go of DS so we can never have a balanced game.

They keep begging for balance but balance to them = 4k every game. Every killer needs to be OP like Billy where almost anyone can pick him up and win.

    Here is where you're wrong.

The game is not about winning, it's about having fun.

I have a lot of fun playing as wraith and sometimes only getting 1-2 kills. If I'm playing a killer that can 4k every game, I don't have fun.

I wish a majority of people play to have fun. A lot play to win, whether it be an escape or 4K. They aren’t wrong in saying a lot of players want the game balanced around a 4K most of their game, not you in particular but I’ve seen a lot of people ONLY play to get a 4K and not the the enjoyment.

    Thank you.

Its a game, it will never be perfect, it will throw crap your way and it will give you moments of laughter.

Lets stop fighting "Killer v Survivor" and start looking at everyone as people looking to have fun. The game is unbalanced and will never be perfect so move on and just enjoy the fun times.

If you focus on the bad that's all you'll ever see.

    Just have fun! :p

Thank you, I'm tired of people focusing on winning rather than enjoying their matches and having a great time.

Agreed, with that comes survivor mains crying about killers camping, as if they expect us to not do our jobs.

    Great job once again, devs!

That's not any different than current BT. 25 seconds is more than enough time to escape after being unhooked. It's just more powerful in the mid game now.

Not always. The hook may be far away, or the survivor might not know where the gates are.

it's really pathetic that so many killers are whining about this idea.

it literally does NOTHING to you... it simply incentivizes more survivor play.

this issue is exactly why I end up playing more killer than survivor. (this and the abundance of campers on xbox)

1: Disagreeing with someone does not automatically make them a "whiner"

2: Killers have much harder jobs, therefore granting them more bloodpoints.

did I say ALL of them that I disagree with are whining? no, I stated that there are a lot of them whining about it and yes... that's a fact.

second, no one is trying to make killers get less for the work they do, they're trying to get more for the work that survivors do... so where's the problem you have with this?

I guess survivors should just risk their lives for their teammates "just because" ?

breaking totems and voluntarily slowing down the game just in case someone has NOED shouldn't be rewarded?

no, you're right, survivors shouldn't get any incentive to play the game since they're obviously not putting in anywhere near as much work as the killer, hell, they're getting too many bloodpoints already.

    * Who is whining?

    • I didn’t say people are trying to make killers get less blood points.

    • You act like survivors get much less blood points than killers. This is incorrect. Try “We’re going to live forever”

noone is whining, at all, definitely not about killers losing items, cause survivors never lose theirs. I was just lying to make my case look better

you're right,  it's a fallacious point I was making that clearly serves no purpose. it definitely wasn't meant to illustrate that killers are up in arms over something that literally doesn't affect them at all.

and once again, no, you're right, survivors should be forced to rely on a broken mechanic (taking hits for other survivors that rarely register) or throwing ourselves at the mercy of every camper for a rescue to get bloodpoints.

I'm sorry that I forgot how hard this game is on killers... I'll let myself out...

    Smart!

Honestly wolf do you have problems with reading comprehension? Not trying to be mean just need to know if I need to explain myself better because I keep repeating this but you don't seem to get it.

I'm not always "the one caught" so STOP giving me your "get good" speech.

Let me say it clearly for you..

    IT.IS.BORING.EVEN.WHEN.OTHER.SURVIVORS.ARE.GETTING.CAMPED.

    1) SURVIVORS.GET.PENALIZED.FOR.NOT.UNHOOKING.WE.ARE.DENIED.HOOKS.ALL.GAME.

    3) IT.IS.BORING.HOLDING.M1.ON.A.GEN.

You understand now? It's not always me caught, but us survivors don't like to see a teammate camped.

I'm going to be honest I really don't like you. You defend canping and tunneling and say its the only way to win at every turn regardless of the evidence. Not trying to be mean but you repulse me. I really don't want any further communication from you. Hopefully this forum has a block list.

Oh and fine survivors wont ask for dev help anymore. Im assuming you'll stop crying for killer buffs too then? Noed, healing changes, constant buffs for individual killers etc etc

I mean nobody is even crying for buffs. We'd just appriciate it if the game didn't end upon the first hook.

I see nothing here but opinion. Before making an argument, how about you include some facts?

    @The_Crusader said:
    Typical killer replies.

"Waaaaah i cant win aany other way waaaaah!!!"

So just have a guy do a gen, get caught, then stare at a hook for 2 mins until hes dead.

The rest? Just sit on a gen holding m1 for 5 mins. So much fun.

Dont you worry im done. Wont be touching it anymore.

Funny how you newbies try to justify it as if its this amazing strategy you've thought of. Newsflash kids, camping has been a thing in videogames for ages and its always had an extremely negative reputation.

I've just never played a game befofe where it's literally 95%+ of matches.

"Waaaah but survivors get all the buffs!! Killa too weak!!!"

How about you just get good? Rather than camp?

    @The_Crusader said:
I'm not a "survivor main" at all pal, but oh who would have guessed the guy who gets uppity whenever theres any talk of killers being toxic or being OP rushes to the defence of tunneling yet again.

You claim to not be a survivor main? Based on the flimsy thing you call an argument, you clearly are one.

It's not fun, it's strategy, although a bad strategy at that.

  • 7 Objectives for 4 survivors, (Gens + Gates) 2 of these objectives which take little time, whilst 12 objectives for 1 killer.

Tell me again, why should survivors get more bloodpoints?

  • How about instead of writing a post-graduate essay, you use blood warden?

Do you ever flip off people for fun? Just make sure you tell them "no disrespect meant".

Do you often compare real-life situations to things in video games?

    Oh, wait.

You do know REAL people play video games right? Disrespect is disrespect man. If you think just because you're playing a video game or on the Internet it's cool to blatantly disrespect people, you're part of the problem.

If you're sweating this much about disrespect in a video game, you're clearly taking the game you play to HAVE FUN too seriously.

My advice for you: Man up. We're all trying to have fun. If people find it fun to do that in a FICTIONAL situation, it's fine with me. However, if it is done in real life, I would completely agree with you.

Yet, the devs still don’t fix gen completion time.

I think making struggle phase more rewarding while in the killer's terror radius should fix camping. As in if you're being camped and you get to the struggle phase you get enough point to black pip or if you had enough objective at some point it might be enough to pip.

This will encourage survivors who are being camped to stay and waste the killer's time. Being camped is not fun and in most cases players just suicide on hook when they realize they're being camped to just go to the next game and that in my opinion is why some killers still do it looking for the one hook kills and easy wins.

I disagree. Killers get less blood points for camping, therefore making it a less viable option.

I would assume most killers who camp do not care for their loss of blood points.

So then what exactly is the problem? The killer isn't benefiting, suck it up and move on.

Well, now that you mention it, I suppose that it doesn't happen that often. And when it does (if the survivor team is competent), everyone else will survive. Still, it sucks to get camped.

  • Great idea! Let's also make a button survivors press to make 3 generators completed instantly! Let's also make it so survivors can kill the killer, to balance the game!! Survivors need a buff, they are so very underpowered!

    Yes, even worse than Freddy.

The Pig was a Killer I used the most back when I was newer to the game. Stopped using her at around Rank 7 in favour of trying out different Killers. For a long while in Rank 1, I started using Doctor, Hag, Myers, Freddy. All Killers that I enjoy, and believe all can be relatively strong. Then, after finally acquiring all the Killer perks I wanted, I decided to go back to my roots and play Pig again.

    Good grief is she AWFUL.

Going back to The Pig after playing other, better Killers was hard. One half of her power is an RNG-based minor inconvenience. The other is good for nothing more than a potential grab off a gen at the start of the match where your vision is abscured and your movement is slow, zero terror radius doesn't compensate for the weak awareness and map pressure and the RBT to slow the game down depend entirely on chance (mostly with them getting taken off in 1 box). And oh boy, is that Ambush bad. 9 times out of 10 it is better to just stand up and attack...a unreliable mindgame around palettes against a weak survivor is the only use for it.

It also doesnt help that i personally find Pig boring to play. Because one half of her ability doesn't require much input on your end and the other half is so niche, you're walking around as a basic Killer with no power. This means you get looped HARD. Of course I use Enduring, Bamboozle and Spirit Fury to counteract this, but it doesn't make it any less boring and frustrating.

So yeah. My two cents on The Pig. I honestly enjoy playing Freddy more than her, and believe that he is actually better, even if not by a large margin. I'll be happy to play other, better and more fun Killers who can handle skilled SWF groups much better. Really hope there are buffs planned for her, cause if you ask me? Pig is THE WORST Killer in Dead By Daylight.

If you got to rank 7 with her, she's clearly not that bad of a killer. Try getting from rank 20 - rank 7 with freddy.

There's already something exactly like this that exists: teachable / unique character perks. Unless you mean adding a 5th perk slot, or just buffing survivors outright, this idea wouldn't do much good for killers. Now, even if it was for killers too, killers already have their own unique abilities, so it would be much more useful for survivors. This would anger those who play killer even more, and in my opinion this idea is destructive and quite dangerous.

Exactly teachable perks which can be taught to everyone and I did talk about various debuffs which would come to certain survivors with the passives like for example Feng vaulting 10% quicker but her exhaustion recovery speed is reduced by 10%. This would make it so Feng can easier survive killers like the Huntress or The Nurse while also being weaker towards killers like Wraith, Trapper, And Doctor. It would make an actual Meta and provide actual reason to play new survivors other then "They have a nice coat."

So you just want to add an extra teachable perk for survivors?

Great idea, I think savable kits and load-outs would make adapting to different situations much easier. I hope the developers do implement this feature into the game.

  • Nerfing the killers with the best abilities won't do much good. Buffing killers with sub-par abilities won't do much good either. If these buffs and nerfs were put into effect, survivors would be more powerful than ever.
