I played last night form the first time in a while. The game actually performed well, but the Myers hair bug is awful. Please fix!!!!!!
-
Please release an updated version for Switch 2! I agree the game would probably play best on the console with the mouse controls. It is the most popular console in the world right now. Just do it already!!!
-
I don't think it has anything to do with the licensing issues. As you said, this same group is releasing a series called Crystal Lake. I think they wanted to release Jason for the anniversary event and simply didn't have the time or resources to create a new map in time. I hope and expect one to be released down the road.
-
countless other games from smaller developers have been updated for Switch 2. There really is no excuse. It's also dumb not to from a business perspective, since it is the best selling console currently.
-
Yeah, I tried playing today for the first time in a while and after 10 minutes trying to load a game I gave up.
What about a Switch 2 graphical upgrade? Plenty of other games have managed to do it.
-
I may not have even heard of DBD, let alone played it, if not for Halloween. Hoping it comes back eventually, perhaps better than before!
-
Terrible news!

Terror radius was nerfed so he is easier to prerun and lost his stealth (if we dont count that you can stealth around on indoor maps but it has its limits and most maps are open plus he is slower now by 5% in exchange for normal lunge). Slaughtering strike is bad he slows too much when he is charging it and reduced turn rate is terrible to deal with even billy has more room to turn or blight and they are both very strong killers on top of every tierlist for reason not to mention oni has more room to get that hit than now low b-tier mayers. Strike speed is slow, very slow which makes it easy to react and survivor has huge room for distance even more against mayers than against buffed pig and thats not her main power. Biggest and most harsh nerf strike has is the ability to get fast down like he could with tier two 99 and then get behind survivor and get tier 3 fast and get that instadown simular to ghostface but now you have big slowdown for no reason and on top of that cooldown after breaking something or missing with strike is quite big so I dont know why he has to wait 6 seconds to try agian, compare it to oni if he breaks palett or missis has he have to wait x seconds to do it again after action of break or miss cooldown, I dont think he has to.
I agree the slowdown is bad when triggering slaughtering strike. I thought it was a glitch at first. They should remove the slowdown.

After playing a few more games with the new Myers I have grown to like him. There are a lot of ways to play him. You can still play as old Myers with fragrant tuft of hair. I love the ability to switch between stalker and pursuer modes. On indoor maps, being able to switch and become undetectable is great. Slaughtering strike also isn't that bad. I think it could use a few tweaks but overall it is fun.
-
Nobody asked for this rework. People were complaining about tombstone, which they already addressed last time, but I didn't hear anything about wanting Myers to "dash attack" or turn him into something that is completely opposite from his character. Just change him back. And bring back vanity mirror.
-
There will be a lot of interest and it seems silly and financially not very smart to ignore the hottest console. It doesn't seem like it would be that difficult to either upgrade the switch version or port the PS5 or steam deck version.
-
Halloween Horror Nights just announced a "Jason Universe" haunted house. They must have had the deal for some time and just announced it today (Friday the 13th). I think it's promising that we will get Jason in DBD soon.
-
I believe the legal issues have been resolved. There was a release from the "Jason Universe" of a new image of Jason. The Crystal Lake series on Peacock is moving forward, and they said they will be brining Jason to various mediums, including gaming. So perhaps more good news is on the horizon.

I am currently downloading DBD on my switch 2 right now but it looks like it isn't updated for the switch 2 version yet. looks like it's still switch 1. Hopefully they will update it for switch 2??

How does it play on Switch 2? Any improvement?
-
If they can't get the upgrade to work, I would gladly pay for a new Switch 2 version as long as my characters and data can transfer over.
-
I primarily use vanity mirror with dead rabbit and monitor and abuse. It's a fine build for outdoor maps. Scratched is obviously better with indoor maps but it can still be fun and effective outdoors.
-
That is my favorite Shape build. I usually use Lethal Pursuer, Play With Your Food, Overcharge, and Monitor & Abuse with Vanity Mirror Michael. Sometimes I swap out Lethal as it generally only helps with this build at the beginning of the game.
-
I've never even thought about doing it, but I can see moving it to a cooler place for the Mori or maybe recreating a scene from a movie (e.g. Halloween). Maybe I'll try it sometime!
-
They should give players the option to choose bots to reduce wait time. I think most players want to play against real humans and are willing to wait longer if necessary.
-
Let's see how it plays out. Can't survivors just choose not to heal if they are in the Dream World? It doesn't seem like that strong of a buff against smarter survivors.

Getting out of tier 1 and not running out of tier 3 was very nice buffs but not to much different to how myers plays. The stalking from afar definitely helps get to tier 3 faster but tier 3 is still the same. I think he needs a faster breaking pallet speed when in tier 3 like how he has vaulting. Giving myers faster breaking speed can at least give myers some sort of chase power. The pre dropping gets so tedious and holding w is annoying. I play on controller so I hold joystick and my thumb starts to hurt from how much I have to hold it down when playing myers. Overall the buffs made playing pre buff myers better but didn’t make myers any stronger since being in tier 3 then and now is the same just more times so you can be more risky or careless with stalk. Hope the gets some more buffs
Agree 100%.
-
The only time I slug people is towards the end of the game when I have been getting flashlighted all game or when am unable to hook because of a perk that is being used. I still think they need to add a "quick heal" option after 60 seconds that would allow for either a quick heal or quick bleed out (similar to a quick unhook).
-
Is this achievement available on the Switch?
-
I haven't been able to play much recently, but I was finally able to play a few games with the updated Myers last night. Overall, it is definitely an improvement. I was able to get T3 quite frequently. Stalking from afar felt more natural. I don't think I ever ran out of stalk. Movement in T1 felt a lot better. I was still getting looped in T3 though and I was only able to get 1 or 2 kills a game running regular Myers. I think they should add brutal strength as basekit in T3. That would fit his character better and help counter looping.
I ended up going back to Vanity Mirror and got a 4K in the one game I played with it.I'm going to try some different builds with regular Myers and see if that helps. But overall I am happy with the update.

Fun idea!

This would not really solve anything. People play the game to actually play the game, not to be left on the ground for minutes. That they get a few BPs does not really fix anything.
There will be a solution for extensive slugging eventually. Hens wrote in a recent tweet that Survivors should pick themselves up after 2 minutes, which is a fair solution IMO. No Killer needs to slug for 2 minutes to create pressure or to wait out a DS (Imagine respecting DS in 2024 anyway, lol). 2+ minutes of slugging are usually done for griefing or to waste everyones time for a small ego boost by slugging for the 4K.
I agree. Easy solution is to allow survivors to pick themselves up after a period of time. Maybe 90 seconds. That would pretty much solve it.
-
I'm hoping for just minor tweaks to Myers: unlimited stalk for survivors, perk tweaks, and fixing his shoes (they are too light). Some new masks (Halloween 2, 4, etc) would be nice too.
-
Great summary, thank you!
And thank you, Devs, for keeping the Ivory and Ebony Moris and listening to player feedback. This is a perfect solution.
-
I like all of it. Great job!
-
I would also add that people seem to like going up against Scratched Mirror (aka Jump Scare Michael). He can pop up out of nowhere and people are genuinely frightened by it. But he's also not overpowering and obviously not good in chases, so it usually leads to a fun game for everyone.

Friday the 13th. Second choice would be the Shining.

I just wanted to note that PTB changes are not set in stone and are actively monitored for feedback and gameplay before things go Live.
that's good. Please reconsider this decision.

Freddy, oh Freddy, what do you see?
Chasing shadows in dreams, another futile spree.
You reach for Claudette, but she's always ahead,
while sneaky Jane hides with Head On in a closet.
Freddy, oh Freddy, what has gone wrong?
In this endless nightmare, you don't truly belong.
No lunge, now power - what's left in your grip?
Your strength has been gutted, a ghost on a slip.
Freddy, oh Freddy, you are a true tragedy.
The devs' wrath you suffered, turned into a parody.
Your snares and your pallets are but an illusion.
Once the king of dreams, you're now an intrusion.
Freddy, oh Freddy what can be done?
Once feared in nightmares, now outclassed by everyone.
Try as you might your reign's in decline,
the weakest killer - your fate is entwined.
Freddy, oh Freddy, where does it end?
After all these years, can your wounds ever mend?
Left to rot in the mud, shattered to pieces,
waiting for the day when your suffering ceases.

This poem was inspired by a losing streak on dear old Freddy. I spent quite a bit of effort on this, so cookies would be appreciated. 😋
I'm curious to hear the opinions of our resident Freddy mains, @GeneralV and @CountOfTheFog.
Beautiful. Simply beautiful. It brought a tear to my eye. Bravo!

Agree with everyone on here. Please don't get rid of the ebony mori.
-
How do you do that?
-
I don't understand the issue with "playing sweaty." This is a horror game. Isn't that the whole point?

Myers needs some serious numbers tweaks and some updates to what his kit HAS, but not what his kit IS. His kit overall is fine, it's the numbers being off and the need to rework several addons while basekitting others.
I agree. The OP had some good suggestions. Just a few tweaks but not an overhaul.
-
I would buy it, but since purchases on Switch won't transfer I'm going to wait for the Switch 2 to come out before I buy anything else.
-
They could implement a time limit for these situations - if there is no gen activity for X minutes (10? 15?) the killer can repair the gens and open the gate.
-
I'm a killer main normally but I've had a lot of fun playing survivor in 2 v 8 mode today. The games also loaded almost instantaneously.
-
it's just a microcosm of today's society in general, fueled by social media. Some people must have a strong opinion on everything and pick sides, whether it's political parties, sports teams, cultural issues, religion, global conflict, etc… with no empathy or understanding of the other side. Social media just amplifies the loudest voices and makes things worse. DBD is no different. There are a lot of DBD players who aren't like that and appreciate the challenges of playing killer and survivor, but their voices get drowned out.
-
You should be able to push someone away. That would solve most of these issues.
-
Midwich Elementary School. It's too dark for me and I can't see anything. It's the only map I have this issue with.
-
Use the perks that survivors complain the most about. I wouldn't have even considered certain perks and combinations but for all the complaints on here.
-
I had a survivor do this yesterday, but the other 3 survivors kept playing and all escaped. Maybe don't be so quick to give up (in video games or in life).
-
I can kind of understand not transferring the purchases made through Nintendo's eShop. But there is no excuse for not transferring the characters unlocked with Auric Cells.
Also, yesterday when I played I received a prompt asking permission to share my Nintendo Account information with BHVR. And progress is also transferred. So again there is no reason why characters unlocked with Auric Cells can't be transferred.
-
While I'm sure it's primarily a Nintendo issue, BHVR could offer a discount on Auric Cells or do something similar for Switch players. Many of us have bought a lot of characters on Switch and we shouldn't be the only ones to have to pay full price again.
I'm also curious as to whether cross progression could happen to the Switch 2 when it comes out next year.

- I've thought about several Killer concepts:
- - A human-sized marionette, maybe made of several different parts, that was revived by a cultist to do their bidding (which was mostly killing) and didn't stop even after its creator's death. Or maybe it was their little attempt of immortality gone wrong — and now its a puppet inhabited by a fragment of soul that is in constant agony
- - A shapeshifter. A Killer that can copy appearance of a fellow survivor to create chaos and spread paranoia. I think, there is a way to pull it off mechanically, albeit with some limitations. Essentially, after hitting a Survivor, the Killer can assume their guise. To survivors, they look like their injured teammate — and the illusion dispels as soon as they touch them or if the Killer chooses to drop the disguise. While in disguise, the Killer can vault over pallets and windows, but can't use items, interact with gens or chests. As for the design/looks — I think something with strong skinwalker vibes.
- - A spider-themed killer. I'd go full body horror here by making them a person filled with spiders. Like dozens and dozens of tiny spiders constantly skittering all over their body, crawling out from their eyes, mouth, splits and holes in their skin. Body contorting as it crawls on the walls while pursuing survivors. Movements uncanny (as if imitating the portia jumping spider).
- - An "imaginary friend". Something that looks like a child with a crude and unsettling mask covering their face. Their key ability— creating copies of themselves. Unlike with the Unknown's duplicates, these copies can move randomly across the map. Upon activating this ability, the Killer transfers their Terror Radius to each decoy while gaining the Undetectable status and becoming able to sneak up on Survivors.
Terminator T-1000 with shapeshifting would be a great killer in DBD.

Agree with activation button for T3.
