Honestly I'm assuming this is what they're going to do as it would be impossible to win against certain killers.
I agree completely - at most they could be used as skins so they wouldn't have their own powers but the same stated (M1 and weak aura with long wind up) but I suspect creating a killer specifically for the mode would be the better option.

I've seen nothing on this pray do tell yo what's this about?

this honestly would be an epic idea. Infection mode.
Simplicity itself! In Banana Eats the initial killer is decided by random (with chance percentage increasing in each round you're not killer) so it would eliminate queue times for specific roles as each of you get a turn in the lobby

Other games do something similar to what you're suggesting, but specifically with Unranked and Ranked gamemodes. In those games, you may need to play 50 or win 20 (or some other number) games in Unranked in order to be able to play Ranked. This makes it more difficult or expensive for cheaters to get new accounts to grind ranked, and will make it so that players actually have a bit of experience going into ranked so as not to ruin other people's games. The problem is DBD doesn't have a ranked gamemode, and some people might argue it's not a game that should. In addition, those games are still against people, which much more closely emulates a ranked game, just not for stakes.
Unless you were to force players to play at least 20 matches with bots, I don't think a few matches against bots would prepare players much more for playing the game. And even then I don't know how much it would do. Even a couple hundred hours into this game, most of the community will agree you are pretty new, and you probably will still struggle with a lot of the mechanics. Plus, I don't think many people would want to sit through that many matches against bots, so I think it would just drive a lot of new players away more.
Those are all more than fair points. All I really know is something has to be done to get the new players more in tune with the game and with there being no proper ranked system like you said, it means there's little option outside of the bot lobbies unless BHVR were to create a beginner lobby that would allow smurfs to have a wail of a time. I don't think it would be continuously Smurfs though and for that it's also something else to be considered.

Wholly agree. I'm jumping on whatever opportunity I have regardless of role and if you're not having fun play something else. I'm not even saying that in a sardonic way - please play something else and come back fresh. I had a period where I just wasn't getting anywhere and I took breaks and came back which led to me eventually getting good enough against good killers to actually have fun win or lose. That's the whole point - having a great match and respecting the tug of war.

Was there anything said about adding end game chat to consoles? I feel like I always miss out on the shtshow lol
-
I hate the lanterns. That's my one complaint otherwise it's a great mode - the lanterns just ruin it though - too revealing and ######### up the loot from chests with even more stupid lanterns

Because Communication never was the issue with SoloQ. Or never the thing which made SWF better than SoloQ. As I have written in my post, Survivors already get information, but dont use it. Like, you dont need Comms to see if a teammate who just got hooked in the Basement has Wicked and can unhook themselves. Saying "I have Wicked, dont come to me" would be extra information which would not even be needed.
However, if you would put 4 good Survivors together, they would not need a Chat Wheel or even Comms to be good, since they know what they are doing.
Overall, SoloQ is mainly a Matchmaking Issue and not an information or communication issue. But again, I also said that it will most likely not hurt at all, so I am all for it. But I dont think it will really change much to make SoloQ a better experience.
They boo but you're absolutely right. 3 other good players is a miracle but it happens and I've seen and done it all with those rare gems. I usually turn the game off after a match like that instead of ruining a good win high with a typical match afterwards lol

Are you asking for a tunneling bonus? Where are you wanting points from? 17k kind of implies 7k points from other categories. How did you gain those by being tunneled? When I see survivors get tunneled, they typically have 5k or less. 17k means you actually got to play.
Nah I understand where it's coming from - it's hyperbolic to say 5 gen loop (most of the time, but sometimes it really is like that) but it's more like taking a good chase, then expecting rotation but the other survivors dodge that so you wind up doing even more. When you see everyone at 25+ and you're down in the ranking it does make you wonder where the incentive to give so much is supposed to come from after a while. Don't get me wrong I still take the chases - that's the game, but obviously you should get some small bonus if you're denied any meaningful margin from the other categories.

I've always wanted a Big Trouble In Little China chapter with Lo Pan "The Sorcerer" as killer and Jack Burton as survivor. Legendary skins could be Wang and Gracie.
Lo Pans power would be a mix of Sadako and Knight: he can become incorporeal like she does and his power would be summoning the Three Storms like guards.
I just want to hear them classic Jack Burton one liners mid chase lol

It’s not to intentionally allow killer advantage. BHVR don’t care about high ping players ruining people’s games because of $. If they enforced a ping limit, it would exclude a certain percentage of the player base from playing the game and thus reduce their revenue.
That's exactly it - same reason they won't make a separate lobby for new players - they don't want to increase wait times and thus alienate the most impatient of the player base (which I imagine is many) so they'd rather let high ping and noobs who don't have a clue carry on as is.
-
100% a game with constant new achievements every release is a Sisyphean effort. I recommend not bothering.

"Why does the killer slug for the 4k?" I dunno chief why do the survivors always wait at the exit to give the killer some undeserved bags?
And don't try to tell me it ain't the same thing because then that's what we call double standards.
Absolutely. The answer is the majority of players are pieces of ######### lol

They're great, but there are tonnes bands that have crazy aesthetics so it'll be a hard sell when they're not as mainstream as Maiden and Slipknot. Having said that, they've stuck 9 Ice Kills cosmetics in and that band is a bag of dichs so 🤷
Gwar have a similar get up to Lordi and may be considered a more popular choice.

I don't main any one side, but you've also had no replies so I'm happy to throw in my two cents as someone who has raged many times in both roles and it's honestly - regardless of whether I'm killer or survivor - always survivors that annoy me. SoloQ is a maelstrom of idiocy and winding up in a game with even 2 other good players is a big ask. Often I think "they must be new" only to see they've P100'd the character.
When I play killer it's the futility against SWF's; you can do everything right but it's never enough because the perks they run completely out do your own. They know all the maps they know all the loops. Unless you live on the game as killer you're ######### and quick given how extreme the MMR jump is. It's alright to get wrecked every so often, but when every single game becomes an absolute slog it just winds up a miserable experience.
All in all I genuinely don't believe there will ever be a fix for that: the perks are meant to help the bulk of soloQ players but most of them lack common sense and the same perks make a crack squad indestructible. I've since let go of taking it even remotely seriously and play several other games so my Vidya diet is healthy. I think that's the main thing - don't make DbD your main game or you'll quickly hate it.

Don't let the salty babies ruin a good time with their silly words - I relish those messages these days, it means I'm doing well haha. I can't comment on CS as I don't play it but honestly I wouldn't even take it seriously if I were you - let the sweats take an easy win and sink down to your level MMR wise I guess. Gods know how extreme the jump is from playable challenge to this is pointless. That's my attitude to the whole game thinking about it
-
I honestly never play it. It was a fun little gimmick but my interest died as quickly as the mode came. Now Lights Out - that's a game mode I would play permanently.
-
I'll never understand why you get some nice visible panties and little skirts for Sable but none of the others. And before anyone judges this comment - I know you're all perverts too so get off your high horse.

Will something ever be done about the nonfunctional matchmaking? Because until something is done about it, I’m going to find a new lobby whenever I get paired with literal brand new players, which happens all the time. The best was earlier this week when I matched with a default skin Nea whose Steam profile showed zero hours in the game. As long as BHVR refuse to fix their matchmaking system, I’m fine with people taking it into their own hands.
See I play default Dwight with just his perks and a uni - because I'm an Xbox player however people can't see I've got 2000+ hours in the game and know what I'm doing. I feel like we should be able to quick access stats like that for console players so you can tell when someone is just posing as a baby for misdirection etc as that is the sole reason I do it haha get the killer all over confident in lobby

i am not obligated to intentionally throw the game in the hope it makes my opponent potentially enjoy it more
Funnily enough that's how I feel about hard tunneling.

I couldn't be ######### with it even as survivor. I've been loving the play whilst you wait in normal mode though and really love the 50/50 split between killer and survivor play. I used to just follow the BP multiplier but it's never active enough on killer side.
I'm curious about the number of actual players actually played this event - I've got a feeling Lights Out probably had a stronger run lol
-
Limitless teleport distance should be basekit. Erasing traps should take longer and involve skill checks like Demogorgons portals. 5% haste for 5 seconds if a trap is triggered or rubbed out so if you're in a chase you have a chance to actually cross some distance and gain at least some benefit against SWFs and good players who constantly undo the web and keep you busy. Trap mark should be a little less opaque so they're harder to spot.
Those are the easiest fixtures I think and generally a more likely update for her (if they remember she exists). Hags are really good in low MMR soloq so it's not as if she's ineffective, just needs a good tweak for nowadays.
-
There are enough people making the obvious complaints, but I've another - between the build up for the anniversary and the step away from the masquerade, I was wholly under the impression we were getting an actual new game mode that would replace the masquerade. Regardless of poor balance, I think this is probably the most underwhelming event ever and screams creative bankruptcy.
It's like they had the whole crew busy with Jason so they threw the keys to Dave the cleaner and asked him to do it.
There's a plethora of party games out there that are begging to be copied for fun - and I really thought of all things they would've looked at Roblox's Banana Eats. For anyone who doesn't know - Banana Eats is an asymmetric multiplayer where several survivors have perform a bunch of certain actions (solve little puzzles etc) and avoid another player who's a huge killer banana.
Another thing they have to do during the "trial" is find all the pieces of a cake and take them to the main plate to construct the cake piece by piece. Like, I thought maybe that's what we'd have to do for the Black Banquet - set up a feast before the killer can stop us - for an enigmatic group of masked weirdos in the fog. They also have an infection mode where when you're caught you're turned into a killer banana. The more killer bananas though, the slower you go.
It's great fun and I don't understand how the Devs could be so lazy for such an apparently huge event. They need to go play some party games then come back to the table with something genuinely fresh.
-
If we don't get a Jason X skin I'll be livid.
-
Screaming into the void with this one lol. The player base at large has zero common sense - the amount of times I've wanted to ignore healing for Resilience or any other perk benefit from injured state only for another soloqer to tail me and almost beg to heal whilst ignoring any other task is insane. You can see it now on 2v8: most surv games I have are sh*tshows because everyone is too busy running around trying to get heals in rather than grouping on gens.
-
I have what I call Legacy builds for both survivors and killers, where I use their 3 main perks and one universal (once I've got the achievement). I've essentially stripped myself back purely for the fun/challenge.
I would love an official legacy mode where whoever you pick you're stuck with just their perks. Would eliminate a lot of the argument whilst not being barebones or luck of the draw (CS).
