Ofc it's better. But I think you understand how much time (ages) it will take to move to Engine 5.
We'll probably have a Dead by daylight 2 at this point.
so long as dbd 2 isnt as laughable as Overwatch 2, but seeing as how both are similar... i dont think we will be pleased

I guess people can stop playing and/or spending money on the game if they aren’t happy with this. Why shouldn’t BHVR do what they can to maximize revenue? It’s a for-profit business and they wouldn’t be doing their jobs if they weren’t trying to increase the $ coming in the door. It’s impossible to make everyone happy, so they are going to spend time and resources on the characters that bring in the most revenue. I have zero problems with this
good to know some people want one char to have 50 skins while others have 3, i see something wrong with that. i agree to disagree, thank you

Auto suspension is a very bad idea. What stops people from mass-reporting big streamers, just to shut their game down for some time? We already know cheaters can insert themselves in specific games. Just arrange a few in a row, and bam, streamer’s banned.
That said, you need to file a support ticket on DbD’s site for the reports to be handled. Just reporting them in game will only work for chat logs.
my partner did that and got an email over 10hrs later saying "we will look into it IF there is cheating involved" even though the video clearly shows them teleporting around. my point is dbd support doesnt care enough so they need a system that will do their job a bit quicker

Eyre of cringe.
Garden of pain.
The pallet
Preschool
Cowshed
Raccoon city
These are just the worst one, there are others terrible maps too, but those are SOOOO bad that can make maps like Ormond, Haddonfield, gashaven look like a paradise.
And the worst part is, those maps ARE NEW, they are not from 2017, some of them are from 2022. Like what the actual #########. Who's the brainless doing the map balance?
Who thought a map with no dead zones, connected pallets, one of the biggest main builds in the game, WHO thought this was a good idea to add in 2022 (Eyre of cringe).
Or garden of pain, 100 pallets, god windows that are so strong that can make u fell like it's 2017 again, ######### that #########.
Not to mention the game, with it's reasonable amount of 25 pallets, wich at least 24.9 are god pallets. Fun gameplay indeed.
Please I beg u, think on the map balance when doing it, it can be as ugly as swamp maps, if it's balanced (swamp is also a nightmare). I would say the best maps in the game are: coal tower, wreckers yard, and... Well that's it.
careful, ive had a friend perma banned prematurely from outing the devs/designers like that

Correct.
Too much reward for something that isn't difficult.

Because Rank 1 doesn't correlate to high MMR.
I've also put an unholy amount of time into Killer. Way more than I should've but it's paid off by allowing me to win almost all of my games.
I WILL lose as Legion, make no mistake. He's not Nurse or Blight and I'll find a team better than me eventually, but it's easy to pip with him even if you don't 4K.
okay well in the meantime enjoy the bloodweb grind and getting nothing out of performing well. was just an idea to reward good players but that apparently is easy and my idea isnt that good

I just had a tense game against a swf who played really well. No toxicity. I got a bunch of hooks didnt camp or tunnel. Fun game as bubba on rpd. I got everyone to death hook except one who eluded me all match. I killed one. Then fought to keep the gens and lost. I found the one that was fresh hook as he was opening the door. He dead harded to open it but I caught him. So I bring him to the hook on the outside. With the door open the match is basically over. I was content with a tie. No one was going to get the unhook, but of course he 4%ed. So i rev up and hit him on the way out. Even with perfectly charged chainsaw sweeping I was unable to hit him twice, and what was a well fought tie turned into a loss. This is bs theres nothing I could have done to prevent that from happening.
Why are perks like DS and off the record turned off in endgame but not bt? Does the same login not apply to Base BT? It should be off in endgame. Then theres base kit unbreakable. I'm not going to go into why thats dumb but assuming it comes in it robs the killer with any kind of meaning counter to efficient teams. If I get one out then they are able to complete the gens often I find myself forced to slug to gain any kind of momentum. Those kinds of plays to create pressure is completely gone. No ones coming for the pick up because they can do that themselves consequence free. When bringing in base kit stuff please read more into it and test it more.
had a discussion on this earlier but surv mains claim since killer geta "half a brutal and 2 stacks of STBFL" (1/2 of a perk and 1/4th of a perk) then its justified that survs get a full basekit borrowed even in endgame and now a basekit unbreakable. dont even try to discuss it with many people, youll just get dunked by both people and mods because the 4 outnumbers the 1. Sorry my guy :/

It's not hard to double pip.
Play Legion. Trust me, it's easy.
play legion red rank 1 and let me know how long you stay red rank 1 and consistently double pip. i can tell you now it isnt this easy bs you claim it is.
-
@Lycidas said:
Yeah, achieving 100 double pips is not hard at all, even if you're rank 1
And you could, as @Pulsar said, play a killer with which double pipping is easier and prestige every survivor without ever touching a survivor
The fact that you have a chance of getting a token event if you simply pip makes thing even worse, basically you just play a lot (pipping is not hard, especially if you play a lot) and you end up with a bunch of tokens
you wont consistently stay at red rank 1 consistently pipping and double pipping as legion. mmr exists
-
@Pulsar said:
Basically invalidates the achievement of getting to P100.
How? It will reduce the time if youre really good but other than that getting there faster with the token idea just cements the fact that you are a good player and deserve the achievement other than grinding 2k hours into one character.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/348317/the-we-need-as-basekit-argument
I understand you sentiments but for solo q they are the ones that mostly needed these two abilities for basekit to be able to start feeling on par with swf.
slugging, tunneling, and camping are so easy to do and don't require a perk it is a little unfair to make a survivor have to use a bandaid (perk) to go against something that is not even needing a perk to do.
Kindred shouldn't be a basekit untill there is a big negative to the basekit version that makes you require to use the perk to make value in the basekit version
To many games where people solo q and never get healed, never get unhooked, or unhooked in front of the killer that I thin these were needed to benefit solos
The biggest mistake with this is if they ARE trying to make soloQ on par with swf kill rates will be at 50% at best and swf teams will never get killed. if they wanted to balance it out, nerfing swf would have been more optimal

Soul Guard is very situational and you would need to bring a Hex totem.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3201765#Comment_3201765
Again situational perks which once pallets are used up become less and less meaningful.
Sould guard gives the endurance effect when a survivor gets up from the dying state. this with the new unlimited free unbreakable is severely imbalanced

have you looked at the win% for killer at the moment .... and the win% of survivors (which also takes into consideration SWF).... pretty much proves that you're just whining ?
Lets try to be polite and not invalidate what other people are saying just because you dont like it. I am talking about the balance of the game atm and the devs themselves have said that the kill rate and escape rate are where they want it. this update would make that % change

STBFL doesn't work on blink attack (you get the stack, but it didn't reduces your cooldown)
I think they may be thinking of blight

Whispers will help a lot when there are two survivors left and are refusing to do gens and just hide. At least it’ll give the killer an idea that they’re in the right area.
Id rather not have killers get a basekit Aura reading perk. Perhaps this is just me being bad, but the games already flooded with aura reading and we (I) don’t need to deal with more. I’d like to have stealth be a little viable for those of us who are terrible at looping.
Understandable, im just wondering in the scenarios with 2 survs left, one gets downed and the killer goes to find the 2nd. the one left on the ground can now get free unbreakable but if they move away to get up later the killer having deerstalker would be useful for finding them if the match is basically over anyways

I mean, yeah, that just proves why they get small changes, can you imagine a nurse with a permanent STBFL 8 stack?
Yes but my point was that survivors got a basekit perk fullstop. killer did not, if you think it would be imbalanced for killers to get basekit 8 stacks of STBFL then i think its agreeable that its equally as imbalanced for survivors to get the full 10 second BT basekit no? (Trying to find common ground ty for discussing things!)

Unfortunately that doesn't help against SWFs or just decent survivors who go down under a pallet or go down in the open with a flashlight user around. This change will make it so killers have no way to counter people doing this and I honestly can't think of a perk that would help this.
Especially with flip flop/power struggle and soul guard being a thing

Deerstalker along with Whispers.
I dont think the Whispers would do much as some maps you will ALWAYS be near a survivor for whispers to activate but i agree with the deerstalker one. Im wondering if a toned down bbq basekit would encourage killers to leave hooked survivors to go for chases as they can now get to another chase more easily (maybe a 2 seconds aura or a killer instinct ping?) just some ideas

Let's be clear. This is not an US VS THEM situation. It is about balance. You should not expect to get something for your main just because some problem is fixed for the other side.
That being said, a new problem will arise from Unbreakable basekit, and that is Tenacity. Imagine a Tenacity Unbreakable build in a full darkness offering. You'll never find their bodies after you down them before they can get up.
The solution is to make Deerstalker basekit as part of this update.
Imagine soul guard with this update, I agree its not an US vs THEM situation, but this update would SEVERELY imbalance the game

@TotemSeeker91 said:
We did... it's called brutal strength and STBFL
We didnt get the full perks basekit (borrowed time used to be 10 seconds now they get 10 seconds basekit) if we were to get brutal basekit then we would shred pallets 1.87 seconds (40%) faster than the usual 2.34 seconds.

Tunneling is still SUUUUUPER easy, particular with the DS nerf.
If slugging becomes non-existent, I'd imagine there will be an uptick in camping/tunneling to compensate.
I agree but I think the devs will implement ANOTHER anti-tunnel perk to compensate ( we may see DS basekit sorry lads)
-
@SkeletalElite said:
You did get the same treatment.
You know in the update that increased the kill rate to over 60%?
We did not get the same treatment. Killers did not get any meta perks basekit at all, the game objectives and chases got reworked and balanced.
-
@Raccoon said:
Technically, killers gave Brutal Strength Tier 1 and 2 permanent stacks of STBFL.
Probably not the perks you're looking for, but they are definitely there.
Was STBFL a 10% recovery rate for killer? i dont remember but either way the devs gave survivors way more of an edge as they are basically going against 2 very viable strats killers have (tunneling and slugging) to make it basically impossible. I think if they are getting rid of 2 diff strats killers have then ruin at base should be implemented to stop genrushing strats survivors use. I just see some very clear bias is all and wonder when the devs will address it

Wesker has an addon to break pallets instead of vaulting and it's an iri.
didnt know, thats cool, i dont think it would take too much from wesker to take away the vaulting mechanics though as his 2 dashes are very similar to blight dashes only he is faster and you know how far your dashes go
-
@Crowman said:
There's a pretty sizeable cooldown after vaulting so it's not like you just instantly stick on the survivor after a vault.
If he didn't have the vaulting ability he might as well just be a M1 killer, because his power would be largely useless at majority of tiles in the game.
If they made wesker a pink addon to allow his power to break pallets instead of vaulting them I think it would be fair but your sentence doesnt make much sense to me as blight cannot vault pallets with his power and does great. Wesker has basically 2 blight dashes with his power so i dont see it as a bad thing to consider making it more similar to blights

@MikaelaWantsYourBoon said:
Endurance? No. It should not be reworked because a lot Endurance perks exists. But you can not stack them, so they are fair.
But basekit BT should be reworked. Survivor needs to lose collision. So it is still usefull against tunneller killers but it can not be use for bodyblock.
I reiterated what I meant to say so its more understandable, sorry for not making it more clear earlier!
-
@jesterkind said:
You currently cannot stack Endurance effects- if you're in Deep Wounds, any further Endurance effects do not work.
As for disabling BT in the endgame... honestly that might not be a bad idea, but I'm also not sure if it's necessary either. I'm sure that's something BHVR are monitoring internally, though.
I reiterated what I meant to say so its more understandable, sorry for not making it more clear earlier!
