  • Please @Peanits @not_Queen, we need an explanation D:

At least the mori was cool...

    Right?...

Nope, they even changed that (they replaced the flip phone with a random camera); it's less cool than how it was in the dev build.

PS: Pig was S tier before she was gutted.

  • Being able to change killer stats, such as movement speed, power cooldown etc, would also be great. It'd be great to program fan made balance changes to propose to the devs.

  • I think it would be way more reasonable if the effects applied to every survivor hit in a feral frenzy "combo" except for the first one.

    what I mean is:

-Hitting the first survivor in feral frenzy recharges your power and triggers killer instinct.

-Hitting the second/third/fourth before FF runs out applies the add-ons effect on said survivor.

This would encurage you to apply deep wounds to multiple survivors, which is how the Legion is supposed to be played for the devs.

    What do you think, @Peanits @not_Queen ?

  • The changes applied to the Pig have made her almost completely impotent during the endgame; also, one of her playstyles -the endgame build- is now completely gone, forcing you to play her only one way, which unfortunately makes her weaker, less versatile and less fun to play.

To make up for all of it, have you considered the changes proposed by the community, which mainly consist in letting traps trigger when attempting to leave via an exit gate, but slowing down/stopping the EGC timer if at least one survivor has a trap on?

  • Hey! We may have killed your favorite character, but look! Cosmetics! :D

GIVE US ALL YOUR F***ING MONEY YOU LITTLE TWAT. :D

  • @Peanits well, no one supported the Pig nerfs though. Not a single person.

Almost everyone suggested to just slow down the EGC timer whenever a survivor has a trap on, but who cares? Let's just COMPLETELY REMOVE HER POWER in the endgame amirite? Great choice, great example of good game design.

I'd better quit and go play Civilization V.

  • All Legion and Pig stats? Action speed, power duration etc. For Legion, it would be nice to have both pre-rework and reworked versions.

  • RBT time should still be active, just slowed down. Stopping the timer would make the ruleset N. 2 add-on OP. Also, like many others suggested, the EGC timer should also slow down if at least one survivor has a trap on.

  • I hope they fix the Spirits's sound bugs as soon as possible. Jumpscares and part of her mindgaming potential are gone at the moment. :c

Well, consider this: They announced the change on April 25th, which was also the last time the Patch Notes for 2.7.0a was altered on the forum. Does it make a lot of sense to announce that they are reverting the change, announce that change in the forum patch notes on the same day, and then backtrack on it again on the same day without notifying anyone?

Yeah, this is so weird. I may have gone crazy, but I'm sure it was there before it got edited, and it was there in the game too. I also asked about it in another thread as soon as I noticed.

I hope @Peanits gives us an explanation soon. :c

  • @TheBean said:

TBH I'm not sure if that change is in there yet... I couldn't find it on 2.7.0a PTB update list.

It was mentioned on the Dev stream on Thursday so it probably hasn't been put in yet.

When I checked the first time it was there, both on the forum and in the game. Now it's mysteriously gone though.

  • @TheBean said:

2.7.0a should be the version where the Terror Radius issue with the Pig traps was reversed.

Maybe it is something in the KYF mode.. but try it in live.

Hmm, I'll give it a try

I'll let you know if I find out more.

  • @TAG said:

Stupid question, but was there a point in the PTB where they actually did revert the change in-game, or did they just say they would revert it for the live version while leaving it as is in the PTB version? I play console, so I have no access to the PTB myself.

Unfortunately I'm not sure, but the reversion was listed in the patchnotes both on the forum and inside the game. However, now it's gone.

  • @Cymer said:

the devs feared that IF a someone is playing pig and after all the gens are powered and the endgame collapse is initiated aka the gates are open the pig COULD chase a survivor for a minute and put a bear trap IF she has any left, the survivor IF they manage to get up/unhook needs to have a chance to escape without wasting their time on searching boxes, avoid the piggy and take the gates/hatch.

If you get chased, the EGC timer is almost over and you get downed, you're dead. Losing is legit.

  • I'm pretty sure the ambush attack hasn't received any changes since there's nothing about it in the patchnotes, but I'll check it out too.

  • @Poweas said:

She was probably nerfed because she'd become top tier if untouched. And the devs don't want that. I personally think we should have at least tested it out.

As I said in my previous comment, they could have made RBTs timer stop when EGC is triggered and slow down the EGC timer if at least one survivor has a trap on, while still making it pop if they try to escape without taking it off. Lots of people are suggesting these changes over the ones on the PTB, and I think they'd be much better.

Making her power useless in the endgame does not make sense from a game design standpoint, since you can still use her traps, but they won't have any effect at all. It's like letting the trapper place traps, but not making them trigger when a survivor steps on one; It's as if hatchets and chainsaws couldn't hit, or as if Yamaoka's haunting didn't make you neither faster nor invisible.

  • Wait what? Did they increase her ambush attack duration?

Also, I don't see the terror radius RBT change reversion in the patchnotes anymore. Did they put it back?

Oh noOo! Please tell me, what gave it away?

I always thought I would be a good Survivor main :-( damn

    Lol

The fact you seemed unironic says a lot about DbD's average playerbase tho-

Pig was already incredibly powerful, easily S-Tier with Nurse (maybe even better than Nurse). It was about time that they nerf such a strong Killer, Survivors had NO CHANCE whatsoever to escape against her.

The devs were aware of that FACT and therefore decided to nerf her - the right decision!

Next step: Nerf Nurse, Billy, Spirit, Huntress and Hag because those Killers are also incredibly powerful and Survivors have no chance against them!

The Change to Traps not working in TR has been reverted.

And well, it is intended that a Pig Player uses the Traps during the game to slow the Survivors down and not in Endgame for easy Kills.

It's intended, but it definitely isn't a good choice. Not only is making her traps useless during the endgame a bad game design choice (she still has her power, she can still use it, but it literally doesn't do anything), but it completely denies any endgame playstyles, making her less versatile and less fun to play. Basically, it's as if the Trapper could place his traps during the endgame, but they didn't trigger when survivors step in them.

Every other killer could still use their power in the endgame, except for the Pig, which isn't logical and also nerfs her a lot, which wasn't needed at all.

A real logical change, in order not to make her OP in endgame, while still not nerfing her, would be stopping RBTs timer when the EGC is triggered and slowing down the EGC timer whenever a survivor has a trap on (the same thing that happens when a survivor gets downed or hooked), while still making the traps pop if survivors try escaping with them on.

A lot of people suggested these changes instead of the ones made by the devs, and I think they'd be perfectly balanced.

  • "The RBT timer now stops if the Survivor is within the Terror Radius, as opposed to when in a Chase."

While this change is good on Legion's deep wound since it prevents the moonwalk exploit, it's pretty bad on the Pig. You rarely chase survivors with an RBT on, unless gens are not being done and you're patrolling jigsaw boxes, which means there isn't a tunneling issue to be solved: rather, this change gives trapped survivors positions away (you see the timer stop when they're within your terror radius), which encourages you to tunnel them (I don't think the crouch exploit to restart the timer is worth it though, given the slow movement speed and the long timer). In short, if this change goes live, the Pig will become as annoying as former Legion, which is not good at all. This change needs to be completely reverted.

"RBTs only become active whenever a generator is completed. Inactive RBTs will no longer trigger when attempting to leave via an exit gate. *NOTE: Initiating the End Game Collapse will not complete generators, but will block them. This means that any inactive RBTs will remain inactive."

This is just a crazy nerf. It completely destroys any possible endgame playstyle by completely denying the Pig's power once all generators are powered. I understand her power could be OP during the endgame collapse phase, but this is simply too much and needs to be reverted or restricted to the last survivor remaining. Also, last gen completion not activating RBTs timer doesn't make sense.

  • @Sentry said:

Question: if i place a rtb on someones head during the after the end game starts does it activate

    Nope, it's completely useless.

  • It lets you know when she enters phase mode through an audio cue that is not supposed to be there.

  • @TAG said:

That wouldn't help much if the Endgame has its own kill timer.

Well, consider the BTR timer is 2 to 2 and a half minutes long, while the endgame collapse timer is 3 to 6 minutes long.

  • @Dwight_Confusion said:

Why would they change the pig? I don't get it.

It's because the bear traps could be too OP when the endgame collapse activates.

Maybe some tweaks will be needed, but since we don't know what changes will be applied, I'm worried of what the devs could do.

If any changes were needed, I'd suggest that every time the endgame collapse timer slows down, the bear traps timer also does by the same percentage.

We'll have to wait for the PTB to release in order to get a sense of it all.

  • @KingB said:

I'm assuming the timer will be removed once the endgame has started.

That could be a good change, by I'd prefer that every time the endgame timer slows down, the BTRs timer also does by the same percentage.

I'm all in with my iridescent shards that they are actually just going to release another cosmetic set and call that the "surprise".

Well, if it is the Feng bunny kigurumi one, I'm all for it.

  • @Salty_Pearl said:

I hope she doesn't a huge change, she's fine the way she is.

Yeah. Maybe some tweaking will be needed, but I'd prefer playing her without any changes during the PTB in order to judge wether she needs a nerf or not.

  • @TAG said:

I'm more than willing to hear them out first before overreacting.

Maybe you're right, but I'd prefer the PTB to be released without Pig nerfs, so we can judge wether they're needed or not.

  • Me too man. I was so excited for the new endgame, but it seems like BHVR can't help disappointing us. Every time they make a step forward, they make 46 back.

  • Nope. A staff member said she's gonna get a “Logical change ;)”, which probably means they'll nerf her to the ground. We're not allowed to have fun, we can't have nice things.
