Except shoulder the burden doesn't undo overall progress, it's a lateral move to stop every blight under the sun from tunneling someone out at 5 gens. If it actually removed a hook state from the killer, then it would be a major issue.

Except for every other killer in the game who also gets punished by shoulder the burden. Nevermind Vigil also removing one of the only downsides to actually using the perk

  • Obviously Escapist is incredible, but when I'm not doing Escapist I love Scout

Being able to restore pallets every 60 seconds works 2 ways, 1 you can always know at least 1 pallet nearby. 2 it lets you fake vault with the any means necessary, 3 it counters Nemesis zombies since you can stun them and Nemesis is popular 4 it supports the team as a whole by restoring expended resources, even if you never use it yourself.

Add on free iron will and immunity to the 12 meter scream and it's really good!

Edit: I forgot about the aura reveal to other survivors too. It's so helpful!

  • This is completely ignoring the fact that there are 2 killers in this mode (one which greatly benefits from injured people) and the fact that as a result of their power. You are being chased far less than normal.

Yes, Legion on their own isn't the issue. But nobody wants to play an amplified mend simulator because that's what Legion was best at. Keeping everyone injured for their teammate. Which meant you weren't chasing individual survivors for very long.

It sucks we lost Legion. But if we included them again, I'd frankly rather they have a different kit exclusive to 2v8, like a disguise killer as shown in their trailer. As while a 1v4 disguise killer would suck, in 2v8 they'd be able to pass off as a survivor far more consistently due to the sheer number of survivors. Add a sice ability to help in chases and the devs would have a great way to test the reception to a disguise killer and how they'd work. (This will never happen though)

  • Use it as practice for looping! Instead of seeing it as "the killer wouldn't leave me alone" instead see it as a rapid fire way to get better in chases.

If you want to counter it in the immediate: Use perks that help. DS and any other endurance/anti tunnel perks help. If you suspect a Survivor is being tunneled let them stay on the hook as long as possible as that's extra time you're buying. Take protection hits when possible and do gens

  • You know, that argument can be applied to any perk in the game:

DS feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then a Survivor forces you to eat DS and now you're losing suddenly because of one perk.

Pain res feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then a killer hooks a Survivor and your 99 gen gets dropped and blocked.

Exhaustion perks feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then the Survivor vaults a window and runs a mile, you down them but get hit by dead hard, you chase them down a drop and they run away, you catch a Survivor in a locker but get stunned by head on.

XYZ feels so unfair, you can do everything right all game then XYZ happens and now you're losing.

  • Honestly, any killer I haven't faced in awhile. Recently went against a Plague and it was incredibly fun avoiding their corrupt purge and baiting when I'd actually drop the pallet to stun her out of her power.

We lost in the end because there was 2 dcs, but I enjoyed the chase all the same!

  • Because:

    A. It was used primarily to go next, and people still bring luck offerings to go next

    B. It gives every survivor a 4% chance to just unhook themself for free, it may not sound like much. But that is a huge amount of pressure against the killer because the game decided to screw them over. If you don't think it's bad then look at how many games killers lose because one survivor had unbreakable.

If I could, unhook attempts that weren't guaranteed (deliverance, Wicked) would go entierly as being able to unhook yourself at best artificially extends games for no reason. At worst can cause you to lose the match altogether.

Maybe if they make him less Spammy then I'd agree

Increasing the cooldown would only lead to only taking safe shots making him MORE boring.

And lets not forget the projectile is small and you have to get 4 hits before you can hook someone

  • Because if they made the Survivor abilities as strong as the killers there'd be huge issues. People are forgetting just how spammable their abilities are. The entire map gets filled with party pallets very quickly which while not a big deal if you have enduring. Still waste time.

Don't forget blocking windows to deny bamboozle or other vault related perks or just to waste time on a god window (Gideon for example)

Only issue is remote breaking and even then. The killer still needs to carry you after and time is still wasted vs remote hooking so... What's the issue? That the 4s ability isn't as strong or stronger than the 1? The group with 8 charges that all regenerate separately vs 2?

    So we did more testing:

    • if you stand near pallet when he is on top of it during his vault animation, it doesn't matter how far you get:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/ZKEEPPYZ8G1H/deadbydaylight-2025-05-1521-44-52-ezgif-com-video-to-gif-converter.gif

    • It doesn't matter if Kaneki pulls on survivor or wall to vault. It can happen with both
    • If you are away from pallet while he is at top of pallet you can run back and he won't injure you
    • it's possible when he leaps on you to run away from pallet enough and then go back, so you can vault to other side
    • you can vault back from front of him, but it's way easier from side
    • this doesn't happen with Wesker, only thing what matters for him if you stand near pallet when he lands

My theory on this is it doesn't take into account the end of the vault. But only if the Survivor was in range when the Ghouls starts the vault. Like how their attacks are hitscan

  • I actually agree. And we should add bp for the sacrifices you would get when you surrender with all bot survivors. Just have it be an end trial button instead.

  • I've had Nemesis zombies more useful than the teammates I've had as survivor.

  • He is literally on pc/epic lmao. Unlike with consoles changing your name is free

  • @_Demidrol said:

This isn't right. Once all generators are repaired, it's only the second of the three stages of the game. There's a huge number of builds designed specifically for this stage. And if you want to end the match faster, you can open the gates yourself — that will trigger the endgame collapse timer.

    4 minutes and you're free.

There are far more killer endgame builds than survivor. The killer being able to surrender and take a loss isn't a big deal.

  • A rework to self care. My idea would be that after healing another Survivor for a health state you gain the ability to heal yourself at 70% current heal speed. The perk deactivates if you use 1% of the charge and regain a health state.

Pairs well with Claudette adept. Bottany + empathy gives you a fast survivor heal and self care gives you a 16 second heal once before you need to interact with a teammate again to charge it.

  • It's because survivor ques are currently +150% bp because there aren't enough survivors. It's the highest I've ever seen the bonus outside of 2v8 lol

  • I think it's the inconsistency that is the worst part. They added bots specifically so the game wouldn't be at a massive disadvantage but added a penalty to the action and made hook suicides free.

While killers get no way to leave the match without a penalty. Either they should accept both are bad and punish suicides made within the first 3 minutes (specifically struggling or failing 2 skill checks that early) or they should remove the dc penalty for both killer and Survivor so at least Survivors get a bot. And if the killer leaves the match ends anyway.

  • I can't even get into a game its so bad. BHVR just did a BHVR again

  • My main issue lies with the event specific power the haunt. I don't know why they nerfed it because its no longer powerful enough to justify the time spent acquiring.

Smokes are incredibly powerful but a short ranged, straight line damage that doesn't even go through objects and is stopped by the smallest collision?

These killers have a low skill ceiling so ppl pick them for a free 4k almost everytime, then there's killer players like me who actually play for fun and do fine getting 2-3k with my unknown, dracula and myers. Not every round has to be a 4k and devs need to stop pushing this idea.

You can literally argue every killer isn't skillful if you cope hard enough. Like for example Myers, Dracula and Unknown. It's simply a fact that Billy, Nurse and Blight have a higher skill floor sure. But they do still have high ceilings.

Thetes a distinct difference between a Nurse who fails every mindgame and one who knows how to counter them. A difference between a good Blight and one who's mastered bump logic. A good Billy and one who's mastered curving.

Then a different angle: She's boring to go against due to no real power. Just an M1 killer.

Most have a personal issue with her, due to BHVR releasing her in her initial state and being tone deaf on anything around her. Holding games hostage, etc. You know the issues. I can't just 'forgive and forget'. She is a stain on the game and all hate she gets is deserved imo. Do better, BHVR.

By that logic Survivors should be removed because they do and still can hold the game hostage. And the state Survivors were released in.

Saying you can't forgive and forget is just plain madness. You're upset about a killer that's not even strong when Nurse exists and can do this 10x worse (she's just so good you don't have to)

They will surely fix it sometime, but it doesn't seem to have a high relevance for them because it's there for a while. I personally don't use it but it's an exploid you don't even have to use intentionally, I've used it 2 times until now accidently because I dashed to close to a palette and I wanted to flick to the survivor xD

I was so confused when I did it accidentally too. I'd love to see it removed and Chucky get some turn capacity after scampering.

Because currently it's the only way to make scamper useful Aside from when you're using it for mobility

    I’ll start

Gens are fun to be on, it makes the game a bit scary when you don’t know where the killer is. It makes the game better and gives it pacing.

Stealth isn’t a bad play style, I take stealth and run a support build while others take chase, I sit back and heal, do gens and when I get them, boon totems. I’m there to help the others and I will take chase when the team needs it.

Both sides are fair, well mostly. I play at a lower level but I still think it’s relatively fair, all killers have the opportunity to get a 4k and all survivors have the chance to escape, however I understand the anti hook teams are unfair to killer and gen regress blight is unfair to survivors but for the most part it’s alright

You don’t need meta perks to have a good build, as long as you have a style that works for you it’s the best one.

Slinger is one of the best killers, he has the ability to pull survivors toward his, they escape they go to deep wound they get hit they take damage either way, and he can shoot through small holes, he isn’t as good as blight or nurse but he’s better then people give him credit for.

Jeff is the best survivor (he’s hot)

Nurse Isn't nearly as hard as people are willing to admit. She has a high skill floor but once you hit it. She's 90% muscle memory. And even on console she's still the best killer.

That was 2 hot takes but eh they're related.

I would love a month or two worth of everyone going perkless, just perks gone, keep your items, your killer powers.

I want to see data on how much skill it takes. Genuinely. (I've seen it done by Streamers)

but the amount of whining over abilities by perks is overly done.

Nurse, Blight and Hillbilly wouldn't be affected. Everyone else would have their kill rates plummet. Camping and tunneling would spike to the highest in history now that Survivors have no defence and killers have no slowdown.

Survivors would have a massive advantage due to being better basekit and medkits/toolboxes would be the only item you see since flashlight squads can't bully.

  • I had a claudette rage hack because I tunneled. 4 gens popped in 20 seconds (last 3 were within 8)

Do you think the hatch should be reworked into something that's rewarded? (ex: unhook 2 survivors, complete 1 full generator, and take chase with the killer for 60 seconds). That way the hiding rats who don't contribute to the team can't get easy escapes

It would make it feel far less of a pitty mechanic. There's no pitty mechanic on the killer side aside from getting to open the gate and force them to leave.

Yet Survivors get free escapes and a chance to unhook when you've already won…

I just want it to be consistent or earned I guess.

Killers always will take the path of least resistance. It's Just them being horrendously lazy and making up lame excuses for their trash behavior.

You mean like how Survivors shift w to make up for the fact they can't run a killer? Or how they rush generators because they're scared that any interaction with the killer will make them lose?

Did that make sense? No? Then why is it different for a killer? Both sides take the path of least resistance. And slugging can actively take more people off generators than hooking. Just like how comp takes deliverance so they can keep doing gens.

But sure, killers are lazy for taking advantage of a situation. Or they're lazy because hook's are becoming more beneficial for the Survivor than killers.

  • Killers are already starting to slug. But sure, give me more reason to bleed people out instead of hook anybody :)

  • @itsHammyyy said:

considering that skull merchant was nerfed for her 70% killrate, i mean. plague/ceno are next on the roadmap for changes and are also in the top 10 killers for kill rates, so i’m guessing the devs are going to follow in the “high kill rate = nerf” philosophy?

Wasn't The nerfs because nobody liked SM as opposed to the high kill rate? If that's true then it'd make more sense to say Xeno, Chucky and Knight would be next

  • Nerfing the A tier killers while leaving Nurse, Blight and Hillbilly as S tier is wild to me. Especially the first two. Nurse just needs an entirely different power she screws the game so hard (and no, she doesn't counter pay to win arguments. Most of the S tiers are free or grindable)

  • If theae nerfs go through then I guess the game will have another Nurse player. Ot several. If any killer can be nerfed because they're hated then might as well only play the strongest meta s tier killers till I get bored and move on.

  • @Nos37 said:

I only bought him to counter pallet rescues. Even with his addon to increase the duration of Mage Hand holding up the pallet while I pick up, survivors can still rescue. I have to equip Fire Up for faster pick up speed too. Haven't had a chance to see if that's enough to finally counter it as I've been playing a lot of survivor lately.

I did not buy Vecna for his other powers or his perks, so I regret the purchase. My experience and reasoning is unique, so my regret is less meaningful.

If your issue is pallet saves maybe you can try blood favour or infectious fright? Favour holds the pallet for 16 seconds which is more than enough time!

  • @Sarrif said:

Let's say survivors had a perk where the only way to counter it was for the killer to go to the basement for a minute and just wait around and until they did that their aura was permanently revealed. Let's say this perk somehow took up four slots as well, would that be okay balance wise?

That's not a fair comparison as there's a range limit to weave. But hey, still better than the killer running 4 slowdowns!

  • It comes partly from the fact you don't know how the match is going to turn out. It could be a game where you get 1 hook and 3 gens are done.

You can always pull back afterwards and be more nice. But the easiest way to slow down the game is a 3v1.

  • I also feel like since the 8 gen kicks. The other regression perks simply aren't strong enough. I've already had games where pop and pain res triggered the 8 gen kicks by themself. And I don't need a little 8% getting in the way of me popping that 99% gen.

  • This is a very unfortunate

    @Rauy556 said:

Its always seemed very weird to me how blight is consistently regarded as one of the most hated killers by survivors. Blight is by far the hardest 'feature' to learn in the game due to how overly complex he is at base not even mentioning his map dependent interactions. As a result, it should be quite obvious that a good blight player has clearly devoted a large amount of time to learn and become good at the character, so why is it such a big problem that they are rewarded with one of the strongest killers in the game?

I personally suck at blight (PS5 things XD ) but do not have any hatred towards anyone who stomps me with him when I play survivor, instead I am quite amazed and respect the fact that they actually invested the time and had the patience to learn the hardest killer. I think it is perfectly fine that a character that is difficult to play and master is extremely strong, as why would someone want to dedicate all that effort to a killer relative in strength to a legion for example, that is very easy and quick to get good at. (Granted I do think his basekit is fine but his add-ons were 100% overtuned in the past and NEEDED nerfs, but there are still a lot of players that complain(ed) about base blight)

I also think it is quite odd that players complain about blight yet they mainly play survivor which is some of the easiest gameplay in a mainstream game, seriously the hardest thing is to learn how to loop which is a universal skill relevant to all killers, where as learning blight is not a universal skill. I think its fair to complain and voice your opinion when something is disproportionate in terms of input required and in-game results but that just seems so outrageous when it comes to a character like blight. Like if someone dedicated that much time to be able to stomp players on a regular basis, they've earned it and instead of being upset that you lost, it would be more productive to just get better and dedicate the same amount of time that those players did to become good at blight and then maybe you could go toe-to-toe with that same player.

The fact you claim Blight takes skill but Survivor is "some of the easiest gameplay in the mainstream" is disheartening.

You are completely dismissing that survivor can, arguably, take more skill than any single killer takes to learn. Not only do you have to learn how to optimally counter 36 killer powers in this game. But also learn a majority of the add-ons as they can drastically alter the killers power.

Blight is hated simply for the fact he doesn't offer a whole lot in the way of counterplay. We can see this by the fact that Billy, a killer who requires skill comparable to Blight (if not even more since they get screwed over by map collisions more) is incredibly loved and respected.

Just ask Survivors what 3 killers they hate the most and you'll see for yourself. Most people would answer at least one of the following: Skull Merchant, Knight, Clown, Blight, Nurse. All of them have either little to no meaningful counterplay. Or their counter play is incredibly boring (drop pallet or run to next tile till you get cornered and die)

  • I'm all for reducing the power of Bubbas facecamp. But the devs tried that and players just found a way to circumvent it. So I honestly don't know how it could be fixed.

I do not envy the devs that will work on the change 2 years from now lol

  • @ChurchofPig said:

This is a rant, I'm saying it now because some things in here are ideas that literally sound like they're coming from someone upset and they are. They can be taken seriously, then can not be taken seriously, it does not matter.

The event queue was, at least theoretically, made so that people who wanted to play regular dbd didn't have to interfere with those who wanted to have fun and play the event. However, I can count on one hand how many times as survivor a killer did not camp, tunnel, or slug starting at 5 generators during the event. I play both sides so I really don't want to hear about "think of the killers' or "Oh but the challenges xyz" not a single challenge in the event tome says "Slaughter all 4 survivors at 5 generators no exceptions or your gaming pc/console is going to explode" because that's how killers are acting during this event. I believe right now, if you can prove the killer saw a different survivor but still chose to tunnel, then that killer should be banned from the event queue for however long, obviously not the entire time because limited stuff and things, but there should be a real penalty.

I have found between playing both sides of this event, both killer and survivor, the only side there's an active struggle on that hasn't just come down to "get better" is survivor. 99.9% of the issues I've seen from the killer side have legitimately just come down to "I could be better at patrolling" or "I should have dropped a chase sooner". Maybe that's me.

Sorry to the killers that are genuinely being wholesome and fun or just being normal and not a complete douche to face, but these are my legitimate feelings on the matter. If we're going to have a queue dedicated to the event and doing event stuff, people shouldn't have to deal with others sweating so much. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna switch to killer because I'm done with the other killer players today, you all are being insufferable.

Anyways that's my rant for now, thank you for listening. I feel better.

Banning killers from queing because you can "prove" they tunneled. Yeah sure that won't kill the gamemode faster than a 9000K hour Nurse.

Let's not forget the fact that evidence can be forged maliciously because its totally not as if this game has a sore loser problem… Right?

  • I'd say that mostly applies to console. As at that point you're going out of your way to message them. But it also depends on the context of the game.

A gg from a close match is goodsportsmanship. But saying gg after you get a 4 man out after bullying the killer or slugging everyone to death at 5 gens is not.

Essentially the act itself isn't toxic. But how you go about it.
