I agree completely. Slugging isn’t even on fair grounds when comparing skill level. I think it should never have been put in the game. Killers already have an easy way of finding survivors and they’re fast as hell. They don’t need ANYTHING else to lay waste to these survivors devs. Jesus. Me and my friend were playing earlier today and I find it so infuriating that killers also have the ability to slam you through vaults. I went through it, you can too. Why is there a need to have such range on melee attacks with these guys? It’s nuts... killers have to get their 4Ks otherwise they complain? Is escape not supposed to be a realistic option? I’m sorry I don’t come in here to die for you. Nah. I’ll go find another game.
Survivors have the same exact mentality so stop complaining. Let's just make slow vaults as safe as fast vaults while were at lul.

The game is based on points and killers get plenty from other things besides kills. In fact I see them consistently surpass the amount of points survivors get. Maybe rank 1 survivors might be gen rushing you making it not as likely. Slow gen speed down? Nah, that’s not fun. It’s already ridiculous how efficient some killers can be. Last thing I want to happen is to get stuck with 5 hour long generators rather than 5 half hour long generators. Sure perks and survivors are supposed to coincide for me to speed up that process but not everyone’s good at keeping the killer distracted long enough to get out against some killers that just have every counter to your counter, every tool they can possibly have to just make it seem all the more likely to get 4Ks. What the hell do they have to complain about?
Points dont always equate to pips.
-
He's probably just been insulted one too many times by toxic survivors. Just say GG and move on. This game is in desperate need of a little positivity and it would go a long way for the mentality that players have of the game.
-
Just deal with it. DC penalty is fair and justified for a heavily competitive game like DBD.
-
I live and die by Spine Chill/Resilience. Spine Chill to get a head start on getting to a loop or when hiding is the only choice. Let's me know if the killer actually looked at me and is just playing dumb. Resilience faster progress faster gen rush. I 99% my heals so I can keep it and get straight back full health at a moments notice. Sucks when teammates one tap me when I'm clearly trying to avoid them though. Make myself juciy bait. Also these two perks make vaulting just a little bit better and while not the most consistent it has saved my life many times.

You better get used to this. If the new sabo goes live this is what every single killer will be running. Devs idea of an "alternative objective" is apparently to make killers even more miserable then they already are. Now apparently I've got to mindgame in the limited time I've picked someone up in order to not have the hook sabo'ed in front of me in roughly 3 seconds.
Its really not that hard to play around hook saboing. Just run infectious and tunnel the sabo guy. You could also bait them to the wrong hook. It's really not that hard. If it's a SWF then who cares. They're were probably gonna bully you anyway.
-
I dc'ed when getting mori bagged once. Small time frame to sit out since I dont normally DC. Still getting punished because I wanted to leave that situation is dumb. I dont care to report players either because we have a small community. I'd rather not get people banned unless they're making homophobic or racist remarks.

Because the only incentive to play killer now is Bp's I think if you get found by the killer on the game it should be incredibly difficult to escape unscathed. I think it's very unbalanced in some aspect for killers. Killers have to run Devour Hope or builds like that but even by the time you get a hook 2 gens are done. It takes too long to get someone in a chase, it is fun on the survivors end though running the killer round like a scooby doo cartoon.. Imo every killer needs anti looping abilities and gain bloodlust much quicker. Survivors are too fast at finding pallets and window loops and abusing them for the rest to do gens. Sadly this is hard to balance so let's hope they figure a new system out.
Remember that ideal performance is 2ks for most killers according to devs. On the end it seems pretty balanced. If you disagree with that, it's an entirely different conversation though.

Regarding game breaking bugs, I’ve only ever experienced the one I mentioned (basement hook glitch). I’ve also had the one where I can run “through” the exit gate without the escape proc, but at least EGC made sure I wasn’t stuck there forever :/
Never has my game crashed, I’m on XB1.
I'm not sure what bug you're talking about tbh. I've seen a small handful of bugs preventing the game from ending even after EGC. I can only imagine how titling that would be even if you only had a five minute ban.

If my MM exp as a red rank survivor is indicative of anything killers are dropping like flies on PC as well.

If you can’t express your point without resorting to childish name calling then you won’t be taken seriously. Good day to you, bud.
Woah there bud. Careful with the insults. I hear people are sensitive around here.

Oh no. I'm so sad now. I'll make sure to be extra careful as to not hurt anyone feelings. The last thing I'd want is to be banned from the forums of indie video game. I just don't know what I'd do if that happened. Lets not pretend you aren't being petty if we want to mention maturity. My point still stands bud. DBD isnt stable.

Thr fact that you honestly want something like this is stupid. I personally wait at the gates to give the hit bp to killers. If im gonna escape ill at least give then a little bump to make sure everyone gets the most out of a game, but.... With people like OC with this kind of attitude. Seems killers only want to be treated special and never get the short stick. Seems people like you dont deserve stuff like that. I too see survs waiting for me, but i usually assume its for the same reason i do. Either don't go to the exit gates and let any potential end game kills slip by so you dont.have your ego shattered by such a small gesture or just take.the bp they are handing you and get into the next game. Although might i suggest you take a break after every time a surv gets out cause you clearly get tilted as ######### whenever it happens.
Dont listen to OP. 99.9% of the community are the same page with this. BP is something everyone benefits from.

Why are you being so aggressive? Where did I complain "OMG THE GAME IS SO KILLER SIDED DEVS PLEASE FIX!" I literally just stated I didn't like a map. Relax. Besides, that comment about pallets was more for Lery's.
Idk. Why did you take it so seriously? I just speak in a very matter of fact way. Have a good day.
-
Hybrid but new to the forums. Since I started as killer main I can say people need to realize how stressful killers games can be until you just get over it and realize the devs dont want you 4king consisently. So I dont doubt that killers can get caught up in their emotions and start demanding irrational things. Survivors though. Ninety percent of you guys will always be entitled unsympathetic little snots. That being said it only takes one weak link to ruin a survivor game, but four strong survivors will bend you over and take turns screwing you. This obviously makes game balance impossible to ever get perfect and people need to realize this.

Your ######### connection still effects games as killer. Dont know where this misconception comes from. Dedicated hasn't really fixed anything.

As killer, Haddonfield and Ormond. Ormond is big, terrible for stealthy killers because they stand out against the snow so much, and introduced my least favorite jungle gyms in the game. Haddonfield is Haddonfield.
As survivor, Lery's or The Game. Unreliable pallet spawns, meh windows, I don't like it.
The game is incredibly consistent with pallet spawns and every loop or jungle gym on the Game is a standard tile of OG maps. Literally just adapt. Game is so survivor sided. Only time it's not survivor sided is when a stealth killer is lurking around.

Also, had she not had unbreakable this match would have been over in less than 4 minutes, but.... that's not what we want, killer mains... right? We don't want 4 minute matches... riiiight??
No, you're definitely right. Any sane killer that wants to pip needs a match to last longer than four minutes. Then again maybe I'm insane for wanting to pip.
-
Listen. I just got a 4%. You're not gonna respect it, so take this shiv to shoulder asshat.
-
I think gens before friends is one of the most important unspoken rules. If they go into second state when they had every resource on the map to work with it's there own fault.
-
If you see a key just bring a mori and tunnel. Otherwise accept that you may lose to an item and try not to take this game to seriously. Keys are only really bad when multiple escape anyway since you can still pip otherwise assuming the game went on long enough.
-
Sometimes I get it off one try. Sometimes I go through all the boxes before getting off. The worst of all is when that damn pig keeps pressuring me off the boxes til my head my pops.
-
Most of the new maps are either incredibly killer sided or survivor sided. There is no in between. The OG maps are typically the best.
-
It's only BM when they dont let you give a slap on the butt on their way out. Free BP my friend. Take it however you get it. If it really bothers you that much you could always DC denying them of escape points..... oh wait. Seriously though unless they're spamming vaults and lockers its generally not considered BM.

It would certainly be interesting. I think there's a lot to learn by watching what other people do. "Where did they go?", "What did that mindgame look like to them?", "What did Meg do all game?" etc.
"What did Meg do all game?"
I often find myself asking this.

See I'd be down with that if it weren't for the fact that Freddy is played literally every other game. It's funny because killers will tell survivors to, "git gud" but killers refuse to do that. Lol. They just resort to the OP killer with the easy 4k. And that's what I'm seeing.
Well you're experience seems to differ greatly from most of the community. I red rank survivor and I'm getting tons of purple to green ranks that maybe need the helping hand, but they're not even playing freddy. I'm seeing a lot of doc becuase people are still sorting out their rift challanges and when I actually find balanced MM is 90% Billy. I also dont play Freddy at all becuase believe or not most killers do want a fair match unless they're just salty.
-
I'd agree if so many other killers weren't underpefroming. Let them have this one till the more general game balanced is sorted out. As soon as gen speed, map design, etc is sorted out he needs to be nerfed hard.
-
Yeah I have to wonder why it's even there to begin with. Whatever outfit thats apart of a full set is really dope. The skirt though. No thanks.
-
I did a little experiment to see if I could make people DC. I played in the most toxic way possible to see if survivors DC. They wont though. Makes me wonder what their DC penatly is already at. People fear the penalty enough to wait around for fifteen minutes being bored and frustrated. Fix the core problems of the game before having this ######### penatly BHVR. It's not survivors fault that killers are purspofully being toxic. Also killers are clearly fustrated enough to ruin other peoples fun says a lot about the state of the game.

That's the point. She stops loops with her power. Go against a good huntress and you'll know what I mean.
At the same time certain maps have a tendency to invalidate her power. The devs don't take killer powers and map design into consideration when designing one or the other. A game like Overwatch on the other hand can have maps the fit all the Heros tool kits and not have one seem grossly OP. Stealth killers are so dumb on indoor maps and Huntress just accepts the loss on those maps. This isn't right. BHVR is just bad at game design and they tackled a concept that even seasoned devs might struggle with.

And DS is like NOED to killers. You'd be surprised at how many people DON'T DO bones. They just dont want to. Besides if they start nerfing that ######### on survivors they need to start Nerfing ######### on killers perks as well :D yall already got the toolbox nerf..soooooooooooo what more do you want? Survivors to not have any arms or legs?
I used to side with killers, lately nope. I feel no pitty for yall what so ever. Keep crying about perks that will ALWAYS be in the game.
All of the crutch perks that ruin game flow need to be nerfed. That includes Noed and DS.

This topic has been brought up many many times. But it's a staple survivor perk so they won't touch it for at least another 2 years. It's like turning off aim assist in a FPS. If they did that soooo many people would suddenly suck and they'll stop playing. BHVR won't risk losing 4/5's of their customers.
Great point. So they need to revert the ruin changes then.

How about the matches that never end? =) which is not as rare as one might think.
I can't believe there was a point in time when I thought they were making the game better. They've just introduced a new plethora of bugs with dedicated servers and continue to not fix the problems that make players want to DC in the first place.

https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/132656/dc-penalty-is-sucking-the-fun-out-of-the-game
On the contrary; DC penalties are doing what they're intended to do -- forcing people to stay and complete full matches instead of bailing in the middle. As for the slugging, perk changes, etc. that actually started becoming a lot more prevelent after the Ruin changes -- because 99% of killers couldn't imagine playing the game with old Ruin, and when it was changed they simply resorted to overwhelmingly camping, puppy guarding, and playing as sweaty as possible as "payback" to Survivors (for some) or to combat not being able to 'slow the game down' like they used to.
All I can say is, if slugging is becoming as prominent as you're making it out to be - are you running Unbreakable to combat it? No Mither? There aren't many options, but that's what Survivors have at least. I haven't noticed very much slugging (only a few matches here and there); but I have been witness to the masssive influx of camping and puppy guarding hooks to guarantee kills because most killers can't 'risk' letting a survivor get a second chance because they can't slow down the game enough anymore or won't re-adapt to the new Ruin changes.
Why do I have to run a perk to combat toxic playstyles. It's one thing if he slugs and follows up with another chase asap. After I've sat there for half my bleed out timer, I'm ready to be hooked and get to my next game. I dont care about dying or killing. I just want to be able to enjoy the game the game at a casual level.

They didn't listen to the community? Did people lose their minds since the last time I checked the forum out and start begging to keep the DC epidemic alive. DC-ing sucks for both sides and it's only been a better experience since I've been playing again. You still get the occasional one as well as the sewies on hook but it's for sure gotten better. The hook sewies aren't even as common as I thought they'd be and I assume it's because people have a little time to calm their rage now knowing there's a penalty. At least as a survivor now you get a little extra time now when one of your teammates decides to screw everyone over. The slugging and whatnot doesn't feel much different to me then when I way last playing heavy maybe five or more months ago.
Why not address the problems that make people want to DC? Punishing players who check out becuase their frustrated with the state of the game will only fustrate them more. We have a player rentition problem and this isn't helping.
-
@Forge said:
The Killers should NOT have a DC penalty, or at the least, not be as severe. The reason? If we lose more Killers because they are pissed off from BS matches, then there are no matches. So, in a sense, yes, this game HAS to slightly cater more to the Killers than the survivors.
I dont agree with that. Even though I think the DC penalty is having an adverse effect on the games health it needs to be even for all.

That's why it's an offering. You can use a key normally (bring it or find it in a chest) unless the killer burnt the offering.
It's just an idea, the problem is that keys have 0 counter. 0. Not even Franklin's can counter them since now items are indestructible.
I guess I could see that. I feel it would have to be a pink offering since it would straight up invalidate the item that a survivor brought even if that item is bullshit. Nothing feels worse than getting targeted because you want to play a certain way or bring an item. I love arua reading keys(basically a fifth perk), but killers tunnel me because they assume the worst with keys.
-
Then keys don't get any use outside of arua reading. It's a tough situation to fix especially since the devs dont care to fix what is actually frustrating for veterans. Keys probably never get used it low ranks since they dont know hatch spawn locations. Data probably reflects that and we all know low rank players are important to the big picture.
Sigh.
-
Sorry bud. I feel like the problems are limitations of console. You can't buff her on console bc if you do that you buff her on PC. Devs don't usually separate balance changes even when statistics prove that its isolated to specific platforms. This is a common problem with Destiny 2 and I've never seen BHVR implement separate balance changes.
