  • Call of the devs on this one?! Are you trying to rub one out or play the game? They're supposed to be horrific figures and the female killers are not too pretty either. Hag is ugly, plague is disfigured, charlotte is plain ugly, pig has a pig head, spirit is a ghost and maybe she was pretty when she was alive but she is DEAD, that's not what I'm into. What are you on about???!!?!?

  • And the student's name was Albert Einstein.

  • Is enduring changed now? It reduced stun time by 40% last time I checked. Oh, you mean reduced DS stun. Yeah but DS is ok now. It does what it's suppposed to do. Still, I'm not a big fan of the perk that blinds you when you kick gens lol. It's kind of annoying but I don't mind it that much. Balancing surv vs killer is one of the greatest conundrums of the game. I saw in an interview once that the devs are aiming for a bit of chaos in the game so perfect balance is not a goal. What I think they should do is balance the early game. Make it so that survivors don't start working on gens right as the game starts because that's a huge head start when the killer has to find the survivors first. Still, the perk lethal pursuer is apparently really good on some killers for this exact reason.

  • Yes...the game is so uninspiring right now. I wish they would be more creative with killers.

  • Isn't the 4th survivor hiding prolonging the game more than it has to be too? Besides, the match is not kept hostage as you have the option to do gens in order to escape which is what you would do anyway. The killer is under no contractual obligation to hook ppl as quickly as possible and if he wants to slug for the 4k so be it. If you think killers are petty for wanting their 4k then why not just give yourself in when you see that the match can't go any further? Be the change you want to see. The other survivor may be reported for allying with the killer but that's it. I don't think there's any way you can hold the game hostage nowadays as everything has a timer ie. bleed out timer and end game collapse. Even with the last survivor, they either get hatch or the end game collapse timer starts. If anyone has any examples on how you can take the game hostage please tell me. Fair enough, someone can play scummy but if it's in the game then it's generally accepted.

  • I think I've actually quit the game after 770 hours. These past days have been the final straw. Play something else.

‘The meta’ is the game, that doesn’t make the killer meta

meta usually implies the best there is at a given time.

I'm not even talking about how broken they are, that they sometimes just show up 12m away from where the survivor is. I'm talking about on the new maps, whether they are bright as hell like Farm or dark as crap like Autohaven. So many people have so much difficulty sometimes, scratch marks will just suddenly disappear, and you'll have no clue where the survivor went until you see them, still running mind you, 32m away as the scratch marks are all dim, barely lit up and hidden by heaps of grass and debris and crap.

It's super obnoxious, sometimes a survivor will be running around the main building or shack on the new bright ass Farm map and I will actually lose them because the scratch marks are impossibly dim at times. I've seen a lot of big shot streamers say the same, this really needs to be addressed. It's a massive quality of life issue for killers.

Keep in mind that sometimes survivors will stop running and walk for a few seconds and then start running again in another direction so as to confuse you.

Might be how you’re playing honestly. Nobody wants to play in a kill simulator where killer is only one having fun.

dude. it actually is a kill simulator for the killer. what do you expect? He's not supposed to feed you cotton candy and play fetch with you. He's supposed to murder you. What game are you playing?

Why? You could either use Sacrificial Ward or use your own map offering.

It was just a thought but basically it'd be nice if you could get random maps BUT one particular type of map.

  • survivors hold w

  • If they would revive some of the weaker killers during that time people will be excited and won't even notice the lack of new killers. Then again, judging by the steam charts their player base is never really growing nor diminishing. With an idea that's so unique and fresh and fun? How? So I assume people come, play the game, get bored and leave. Imo they should really work on their player retention because one day another company with a big budget will do a better version and squander them.

  • You're probably right. And the issue here would be bloodweb clutter. Still, if I could use an offering that would aid my perceptual experience I would find it useful.

  • I guess that would help some killers but to be fair if it were to choose one of the 2 I would prefer the current bloodlust. There are a lot of infinites in this game that you just can't beat without bloodlust.

Yeah, I see what you mean. As is, though, the odds of getting Coldwind are already relatively low to the point where you probably won't get much mileage out of a "don't send me here" offering. Let's say you level up to level 50 and get like 5 of these things, which would actually be quite a lot for a specific green offering. There are 36 individual maps in the game and 16 realms. Coldwind is 5 maps for 1 realm. I don't know exactly how maps are chosen (for example, is the realm picked randomly first and then is a map within the realm picked randomly, or are all maps just put in a hat and it picks one at random), but the odds of getting a Coldwind game are still going to be well under 20% (which is what you'd need to expect your 5 offerings to prevent playing even one match on Coldwind).

Plus, just selfishly, I don't like any of the map offerings and view them as pure bloat on the bloodweb. I don't really care that much where we play, bringing one prevents me from bringing a BP offering, and they're all green rarity, so they're expensive too. Adding another one just increases the amount of bloat in my bloodwebs.

You would be surprised. I have been playing trickster this past couple of days and I keep getting coldwind for some reason. Like 80% of the games I feel. I know others have had ridiculous streaks of the same map in the past. Don't know why it happens but it does.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

There already basically is one, so I don't see the need for more bloodweb bloat - The Sacrificial Ward cancels out all map offerings and the base chance of any given map being selected is already very low because of how many maps are in the game.

I was thinking more on the lines of: "I never want to play Coldwind Farm with this killer" and put that offering on.

  • @Laluzi said:

On the one hand, I would love being able to go "I will play any map but Raccoon City Police Department this game", or being Trapper and going "Anywhere but Hawkins, thanks", or having a hex build and going "Not Autohaven"... but oof, can you imagine the bloodweb clutter? You already never find green offerings thanks to all of the map selectors being there; this'd just double that problem or create it on a different rarity. I think most people would rather pick a map than pick one map not to go to, especially because most people hate more than one map.

Now, if there was an offering to increase/reduce the chance of getting an indoor or outdoor map? Hell yes. That's broad enough to be worth adding while being impactful enough to matter.

You're right. With the current state of the bloodweb there will just be too much stuff. Not a good idea to add more stuff in.

  • The breakable walls are horrendous!!!!!!!!! Worst thing to come out of the game yet.

  • Thank you all for the suggestions! I was curious to see how others ppl see him and if I'm missing something.

  • I would change them so that they blow up in the survivor's face and kills them upon use.

  • @GoodBoyKaru said:

I don't think killer mains, but people who see things mostly from a killer perspective. A lot of people play both sides however have a serious preference to one side, so most of their opinions and decisions are made with that preference in mind- for example, I prefer playing survivor despite maining killer due to queue times and the fact that teammates are... yeah, teammates, so most of my opinions are formed from the perspective of someone who enjoys survivor.

A lot of people on these forums see things from a killer perspective, and that's completely okay. Lord knows that without killers continuing to play we wouldn't have a game and survivors have, and do still, need serious nerfs.

But on the flip side it's good to have people from a survivor perspective because there are definitely issues with playing survivor that need to be resolved, as well as having people who play impartially to reign everyone in when their ideas get far too absurd.

a killer perspective? aww, thanks <3 Your perspective is cool too!

Limit your traveled distance, try to avoid the corners of the map, if you dont need to go there. Let gens far away finish. Leave chases when the loop, the walls or the survivor would waste to much of your time. Play with the best addons of him all the time. Only use good perks, save the best for last is quite useful. Nearly never use your ultimate, unless you have one of those rare moments where it does something, its mostly just a waste of time.

My problem is that by the time I reach any survivor, they've already hugged a very safe loop and I cannot down them fast enough to protect other gens. If I leave the guy on the loop then he resumes the gen that I pushed him away from. I've tried monitor and abuse but it's kind of pointless as I'm not able to do much even with reduced distance and considering that trickster has a lullaby too it makes it even more difficult to close the gap...

I have seen a lot of negativity lately toward the game. Yes a lot of this patch was messy and the cosmetics for leon and Jill are just clothing. There are many other things I see people mad about and rightfully so. But what other game has all of these ICONIC characters jam packed into such an awesome game of cat and mouse? Where else can you stalk people as Mikey Terrorize peoples dreams with Freddy, Mow people down with Bubba.... I can go on and on and on but seriously guys this is the ONLY game of its kind and while its not how you want it to be exactly it is still THE BEST game I have ever played. No matter how frustrated I get at this game I thank EACH AND EVERY developer that has EVER worked on this game and I appreciate them for it. Can't we all just see passed the temporary nonsense and just enjoy the game!!

sure, the game is awesome in the beginning but the more you play it the more it's a diminishing return. The concept is awesome but the reality is that as a killer you have to sweat your donkey off and have the mental fortitude to ignore the bullying and blunt unfairness of the system itself while as a survivor you just have to swallow whatever comes your way and be at the mercy of the mood of the killer or your teammates. Sure there are some good games but the more you play the more you hate this game. It's like a bad marriage; it's all romance in the beginning and you feel like you've met your soulmate until you get to really know them and you realise you were just projecting on to them and they're actually a ######### person but you still love them and you've invested too much to just call it quits. Give it some time..the reality will seep in eventually.

  • Yes. Truly. I'm passionate about the idea of the game and this game is not too bad but I guess like others I'm starting to lose it and will leave the game soon. There is nothing worth investing in this game and I will die an old man till the devs make it worthwhile. At this point I think I'm just not admitting to myself that this game is not going places. If you look at the steam charts the game is on a floating point which suggests that players just come and go and therefore this game is nothing more than a party game for most.

  • I'm jacked just thinking about it lol

  • The buffs actually brought another dimension to him and a lot of new playstyle possibilities. He is great now! Try using your sprint burst after you hear the uncloaking bell.

  • The most satisfying thing is putting bully squads in their place. The worst is them putting me in my place😂

  • I agree with the opinion that it's not fun because it is effective. No one goes: "Oh no, you downed me! Please hook me, don't leave me here!" . Most survivors squirm away from the killer when they get downed hence they don't want to be picked up. You get a second chance when you're slugged. You're not guaranteed success but it's better than losing 1 of your lives.

  • Yes. Definitely. I would like to see more originality. Too many similarities. How about something really unique like a flying killer? It would probably never happen. So let's talk facts: Which combination of past killer powers do you think the next killer will have and will his power hit over pallets?

  • @Gay Myers (Luzi) said:

Like it has been said before, you do need to make a in-game report and depending on the offense, also send in video evidence. You can read here for more information: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules

In-game reports are mandatory though, without them, a case can't be looked into. There is no feedback about reports, any actions are kept private and not everything shows on the profile (e.g. Steam shows a game-ban, but softbans won't show up).

ok, thanks! I'll have a look on the link you posted.

  • Oh my...There should at least be a reward system for people who take the trouble to record and submit. Does the in-game system really serve no purpose !?......... seems a bit improbable. McLean said once that there is a department in charge of breaches such as hacks so they must be doing something...

  • There's many things you can do against deathslinger. Keep in mind that his projectile has travel time so if you're far enough and pay enough attention you can dodge as soon as you hear him shooting. Pre-drop pallets and he can't do squat to you. If your team spreads out you can beat him if he doesn't force a 3 gen on you. Also, deadhard when he shoots. Him pulling you around the loop is situational, most of the time as a deathslinger you'll just want to break the chain as fast as possible and go on with your day. Honestly, when I get experienced survivors I can barely reel them in. Sure, I can get the cheeky monitor and abuse hit but then what? They get sprintburst and run and I get basic attack cooldown+reloading. That's a lot of time for you to run and be completely safe! When you have trouble against a killer go online and search for strategies against them. Most killers don't cut it at high level play so you'll be able to find something to counter them with.

  • why the hate on slugging? you have the possibility of getting rescued without any repercussions whereas with hooking you lose 1/3 lives at the very least.

  • does opression work with eruption? as in eruption affects multiple gens per kick? probably not, would be cool though.

  • honestly they're the ones I play when I'm tired of losing although I agree they have some issues. What I hate is the cooldown on Victor when you down someone. It's like it's designed to be impossible to not be kicked by the nearest survivor. If they decide to go in pairs you're screwed. I swear some survivors have managed to kick Victor after the cooldown expired which infuriated me immensely. At least the respawn on him is decent.

  • if you're doing it to belittle the other party then it's toxic.

  • I hope it never happens. At least not while the game is in this state. Most toxic survivors I encounter are console players. I am relieved when the game ends and they cannot say anything to me but then again everyone should have the possibility of chatting post-game.

  • @BastardKing said:

I have always said that DCing survivors should boost the emblems of everyone in the game if they were not in a SWF, depending on how many hooks they had had.

Killer should get the equivalent of 3 hooks, some Chaser/Hunting, and 6 hits of Malicious, including BBQ stacks, emblems, and BP. (It gives Brutality right now, which is stupid, because you are losing sacrifice, which you cannot get back)

Survivors should get the equivalent of 1 unhook and one heals if they had 3 or 2 hooks remaining (Not on death hook), they should be considered to have survived one minute longer per DC survivor hook and their Emblems should be reflected as if they got an extra gen done. (Including BP to go with unhooks, heals, and gens)

Additionally, for challenges involving killing survivors in any way (Including killing all four in the basement, etc), a DC should auto count for killer. I am slightly more hesitant to count as unhooks for survivor, because that is more exploitable.

Additionally, if they leave within 3 minutes of the game starting, all items, add ons, and offerings should be refunded to everyone else.

I agree. A lot of survivors if not most DC out of spite for the killer so I assume knowing that the killer is going to benefit from their DC is going to deter them a bit maybe.

  • Dude, playing killer is making me depressed. Why do survivors always start on the gens and yet I have to "find" them first? Every start of the game I play gen patrol roulette and if I don't find them within first 2 gens rest assured the third is already done by the time I reach it. Oh ok, get corrupt intervention they say. We see all fancy events where the game is presented as a hall of fame for killers. Behaviour, you should be ashamed of how you treat your killers.

  • ok then. guess i'm just trash

  • @Drekathar said:

What are your thoughts on the games you're gettting lately both as killer and survivor? Mine have been really really tough and I'm getting players that are really good, way better than me I feel. I'm not enjoying myself and most of the times I soldier on and tell myself I can do better when in reality I don't stand a chance. It's not that I don't enjoy difficult games it's just that it feels like I'm just playing with handicap all the time. Like I would need another k of hours to be able to successfully stand up to the players I'm facing now. I'm 720hrs atm.

I forgot to mention that I'm talking about playing killer.

  • Trickster is fun to play but misses the mark. Why does it take so long to wind up? With good survivors they go round the corner super fast and you can't always just hop on to their back and spam your power; And why do I have to put my weapon down first to be able to activate Main Event? These small things really kill the momentum and are the difference between getting a shot and not. Is it worth being 4.4m/s and having to reload? Not really. Don't make him 4.6 m/s necessarily but I think if you just make it so that you can start firing faster and activate Main Event while shooting he would be good. I've been playing him for the past couple of days and I refuse to just play something else. I'm doing my best and I've reached rank 1 killer multiple times with different killers but my average with trickster is getting 6 hooks with all of them escaping lol. Sometimes I get 4Ks but it's because the survivors are noobs. And come on....you sweat as hell to get a few hits then you run out of knives and then your work just fades away with no penalty for the survivor. Super frustrating but at least it is challenging.

  • This type of emblem system makes survivors compete between themselves for points instead of co-operating and delegating roles. I've seen it a lot of times where multiple survivors will stop doing gens to race to the rescue hook just because altruism gives the most points. The game is promoting bad play. I understand that it gives people an incentive to help others but it is ridiculous how you have to be a jack of all trades in order to win. I wouldn't care if I at least got a neutral pip for not doing all possible actions in a single game but sometimes it's so demoralising to see you've been demoted for making the best choices for your team instead of just looking after your checklist...

This is what drives me nuts. If one survivor loops the killer for 2 mins, all the gens are done but you cant leave or you lose rank.

    Its dumb.

It happens to killers too though. I've stopped using red moris because I have to intentionally not down them too quickly before I kill them or I lose rank.

Yes. Looping the killer for 2 minutes is an incredible feat and gives your teammates A LOT of time to finish gens but you get punished for it . Even if say you loop the killer while your teammates do 5 gens which come on; you're a god if you do that; you lose 1 pip because you didn't do anything else. Also, with killers man it's so annoying. If 3 ppl dc at the beginning of the match and 1 gets hatch right after you lose 1 pip. If you down everyone and they suicide on first hook you lose points. If you finish the game super quick because you are a beast killer guess what, you lose points. How is this fair? You can only get merciless killer by stretching out the game. It is so annoying. I hate it.

  • Yes, it's dumb. It doesn't encourage efficiency or making the right decision in the moment. Say you enter a match where the killer does not catch you and you manage to also do a gen or two but you don't need to save any survivor. Well, if you're red rank you've lost a pip there. You just need to tick boxes if you want to rank up. I was in a game like that where nobody got caught and we did the gens super fast. Everyone escaped and depiped. Don't bother winning. Do 2 gens, 2 saves, 2 chases and you're good. Escaping is irrelevant unless you're barely piping. I'm a killer main but since I've started playing survivor at red ranks I've realised why most survivors are toxic and force the killers into chases just because or why they go to exit gates, heal up and then come to bully the killer. It's all about points. You need to be somewhere in the middle to have a proper experience. If you're unlucky or have played poorly you depip even if you've escaped; If you're way better than the killer is then you need to f around for a while so you don't depip. The worst of all is when your teammates get chased all game and they don't bother with gens and they also do trade saves and stupid stuff while you do all gens then you all escape. Guess who's the one losing the pip and having the least points in your team? After you do 2 gens or something your objective points cap and you are essentially doing work for nothing. Imagine that, you lose rank points for doing your main objective too much.

  • It is not a visual bug sometimes. It just happened to me, the killer dc-ed in the first 10 seconds of the game and when I went back to main menu I had actually lost 1 pip!!!! Not a huge deal but it's slightly frustrating...

  • It has started to happen to me as well and it is very sad. The imbalances of the game and now it is even more difficult as killer because of hackers. Upon a quick search I have found multiple websites selling cheats and it’s a shame...I wish there was something we could do.
