Yeah...ok...thanks...
Feels good that apparently by magic every single survivor I’m up against is garbage 😒
Most likely. It's kind of a thing that the vast majority of players are way behind the bell curve. Being "average" at DBD is not good because the average player is absolutely terrible.
-
I just want Forced Penance to affect your attack cooldown when someone takes a protection hit. It would be so much better then.
-
She goes completely and utterly invisible while moving almost as fast as Oni in Demon Dash.
What do you think?
-
Twins. At least with Slinger I can kill myself on the hook after he wins the chase for free. With Twins I have to sit there and wait on the ground while Victor pretends to be a good Killer.

-Blight having insane strength and speed because he's high off Entity splooge
Well, now I'm never gonna be able to look at Blight the same way. I don't know if that makes him better or worse though...
On Topic, this game isn't meant to be realistic. If this game was realistic, Dwight would be dead the first time he got hit with a gigantic club multiple times (especially from a guy with Oni's strength) or just unable to move from any basic attack. I mean, Pyramid Head's weapon could do some serious damage, with a cut or even just with blunt force.
Considering the original post was trying to justify their balance change from a realistic point of view, and I countered by saying realistically the opposite would happen, I don't really see your point.

Do you think none of the stealth killers are good? Because spine chill and paying attention counters them all... Wait not all maps are wide open.
Her dash isn’t amazing, but there are loops it shuts down that you can’t just run away from.
RNG isn’t always bad. For everyone that gets the hat of first try someone gets it off on their last.
Clown’s power is to eat pallets. Pig is better.
"Do you think none of the stealth killers are good?"
Yes.
" Wait not all maps are wide open."
Don't be Helen Keller.
"there are loops it shuts down that you can’t just run away from."
So when she crouches, you just W key on over to the next one.
"RNG isn’t always bad."
Pig's is.

Pig's power is to slow herself down and pretend to stall. Clown is better.

Then don’t talk about a “realistic” approach.
The thing is, the Killers are unrealistically strong, but their unrealistic strength is what allows them to prevail from a realistic standpoint.

I agree with Myers and Trapper being weaker, but pig definitely isn’t. RNG doesn’t equal bad. She has built in stealth and looping powers along with her slowdown with the bear traps. Sure her dash and stealth aren’t the best, but that’s because she was given multiple tools to help her. Clown is ok in the 1v1. That’s all he has.
"She has built in stealth"
Don't be Helen Keller. Or just equip Spine Chill. You have now punished her for using her power.
"looping powers"
Run away from the loop when she crouches. You have now punished her for using her power.
"slowdown with the bear traps."

Well your “realistic” approach isn’t really “realistic” either. You’re assuming the killer is some bug hulky guy who has the toughest legs and the best grip ever. If you’re carrying somebody and you jump from a 2 story building, there’s no way you’re going to have the same grip. If you’re carrying a 150 - 180 pound person on your shoulders, that PLUS your body weight would be way too heavy for your legs. So you’ll be bound to let go of the person you’re holding. So a “realistic” point would be, the wiggle bar would drastically jump, but if the survivor escapes they’ll be moving really slow for a couple seconds because they’re hurting
You have to remember, all of the Killers are given enhanced physical strength by the Entity. These are the same Killers who can:
-Break through entire walls in seconds
-Break sturdy wooden pallets in seconds
-Break an entire generator in seconds
-Fall from a height that would KILL you if you landed wrong and walk it off with no stagger whatsoever
And then we've got specific examples of Killers being extremely sturdy, such as:
-Trapper being only slightly inconvenienced by traps meant for literal bears
-Oni being able to punch through walls and handle a giant sword and death stick with no problem (plus just LOOK at the man and read his backstory, boi is literally a legendary warrior)
-Blight having insane strength and speed because he's high off Entity splooge
-Deathslinger being able to handle that rifle like it's a .22 LR handgun even though, according to math that I've done, it should weigh at minimum almost 50 pounds
-Demogorgon being an extradimensional apex predator
-Pyramid Head being Pyramid Head
I'd wager that a good portion of the Killers are quite strong and physically capable of keeping their grip on a Survivor all that time. And even if they weren't, the Survivor would 100% be dazed and stunned for longer than the Killer, meaning said Killer will have time to reaffirm their shaken grip.
-
Plague with no power beyond injuring people, Myers with his 105 speed at the start of the match, Pig with her absolutely nothing, Twins with their pathetic little haha kicky baby man of a Killer, and Legion with his self-Decisive would like to have a word with you.
-
Welcome to Twins. They're easily the worst Killer in the game. Victor is so much easier to counter than a lot of people on these forums realize to the point where a Survivor who understands what the counters are can basically render him almost as bad or even worse in chases than Charlotte.
And he can't pick Survivors up or use Perks.
And he can be kicked for doing literally anything.
They're so bad it's insane. It baffles me that people think these Killers are not only good, but top-tier. Genuinely baffles me. I would literally rather play perma-tier 1 Myers.
-
-Increase movespeed to 110%
-Remove the whole "farther away = slower stalk" thing. If Ghostface doesn't have it, why should Myers?
-Bring back the ability to ignore Spine Chill
-Reduce or remove the lunge penalty
-
If we're taking the realistic approach, the Survivor would be in for a much less smooth landing if they're dangling from the Killer's shoulder, leaving them dazed enough that the Killer can probably take the time to reaffirm their hold on them.
So logically, the wiggle bar should regress when the Killer drops.
-
Because Tombstone:
-Requires an assload of stalking
-Requires Myers to get out of Tier 1, and good luck with that if the Survivors have a head on their shoulders.
-Only activates temporarily unless you're running Infinite Evil Within 3, at which point the amount of time you spend stalking is enough for the Survivors to do 10 gens.
-Reduces Myers's movement speed by 9%.
-Can be countered by jumping into lockers or forcing him to lunge instead of doing the mori.
-
Depends what kind of playstyle you're going for.
If you want to be "meta" and have everyone injured so Victor can slug them all, I would recommend Sloppy Butcher, Thanatophobia, Save the Best for Last, and Corrupt Intervention. Sloppy to keep them injured, Thana to punish them for being injured, STBFL so you can hit someone as Charlotte and then quickly unleash Victor, and Corrupt because, you know, gens are a thing that (don't) exist.
If you want to play them more casually and have fun with the ability to split up with two Killers at once, I'd recommend Brutal Strength, Thrilling Tremors, Oppression, and a fourth Perk of your choice. Brutal to help Charlotte chew through pallets better, Thrilling to find someone on a gen near Victor when you hook someone as Charlotte, and Oppression to either kick that gen from across the map to throw that Survivor off before switching to Victor, or switching to Victor, doing your thing, and then kicking the gen to make it start regressing.

They do not. Nurse is weak averaged across all players, even across ranks 1-4. But when considering the very best players, she's top tier. Not quite #1, but close.
Keep in mind I have access to way more information. The periodic snapshots we share are because they are interesting, not because they are the sole criteria by which we balance things.
What criteria do your stats use to determine what this "very best" category of players is? Rank? MMR? Playtime?
Assuming you even told the truth about measuring "the very best players"—which, just saying, I'm very skeptical—Whatever the method of measurement is, I can guarantee you, it's wholly inaccurate to what actually goes on in a match with good players, bad players, throwers, sweatlords, and all the variables that simply cannot be taken into account with base numbers alone.
Evidence: So are all of the stats that have ever been released to the playerbase.
What I'm trying to say is: The stats you have aren't nearly as good of a measurement as you think they are. This game has far too many variables and far too little separation between casual and competitive, good and bad, fun-oriented and sweaty players for basic kill rate stats to be an accurate tracker. STOP USING THEM TO DETERMINE IF A KILLER IS GOOD. THEY DON'T DO A GOOD JOB OF TELLING YOU.
-
Just gonna shamelessly self-promote this little bad boy.
Rotten Pumpkin -Unchanged Black Heart -Reduces the stun caused by Shredding a pallet by 0.25 seconds. Rat Liver -Unchanged. I’m very on the fence about this addon. I don’t believe good Demogorgons need it but everyone says it should be base kit. Rat Tail -Reduces portal setup time by 1 second.... -
STBFL when conserving stacks while chasing the obsession.
Infectious Fright.
Aaaaaand that's it.

Okay, so when the devs say something you disagree with or didn't properly answer a question, don't fire back with a rebuttal or a question. Treat their word as Gospel and do not question it.

Bad idea. It's not like Nurse or Blight where you secretly unlock their top-tier potential. You either slug and camp and sweat like your life depends on it, or you're the worst Killer in the game. No in-between. They're an unfinished, unfun, unhealthy mess.

Why is this suddenly being revived?
I still stand by its usefulness to know when a dropped item is picked up again, particularly at broken hooks when a survivor is sacrificed, and for starting off immense pressure catching someone going for the basement chest.
They picked up the item and now they've left. What useful information.
If someone gives you pressure off the basement chest, that's not Hoarder being a good Perk.
-
That 64m detection range is useless to most Killers for the same reason a gen being blown up from across the map is. Like cool, you have the information. Now what? Unless you're Blight, Spirit, Nurse, et cetera, you're not gonna be able to get there before the Survivor hides or, in this case, gets the item and then screws off. It's worthless information.
And even if it weren't worthless, it's still not that good seeing as how it spawns 2 extra chests in a trial.
Hoarder is the No Mither of Killers because it helps the enemy team in exchange for an upside that isn't useful.

Hopefully dead.

What I'm saying is that a good Victor player is able to get you before you round a corner.
The Victor's skill is irrelevant if the Survivor knows how to effectively use corners.
It's like camping pallets against a Clown. You can be the literal best Clown player in the entire world, know all the big brain bottle placements, be an absolute god at corralling Survivors, but if they just sit at a safe pallet and drop it when you approach, there's nothing you can really do except break the pallet because Clown just doesn't have it in his kit to counter that. Victor is similar: That slowdown when pouncing limits him enough that Survivors who can effectively use corners are something he struggles greatly to counter, or just can't counter at all.
-
How you counter Blight depends on if you're playing console or PC. Blight controls and plays very differently on both platforms.
If you're playing console: Move your joystick to the left.
If you're playing PC: You can't.
Edit: It's more if the Blight is playing console or PC, for obvious reasons.

Charging pounce takes a single second, and Victor moves at 2,4m/s. Survivors move at 4m/s, so you can only make 1,6m of distance while Victor is charging pounce, so it's not as easy as you may think. He also has an addon that makes charging up pounce faster, so you make even less distance.
It's not about gaining distance on Victor. It's about rounding a corner before he can pounce. And if you're running around the small end of loops, which you should be against Victor, 1 second is more than enough time to round a corner.
Hell, even if you run around the long end, there are plenty of long loops whose walls are curved or crooked, meaning you can still round a corner. And until Victor is able to turn mid-pounce, he's not going to be hitting you around that corner.

Heal.
What are you gonna do, heal mid chase? against a killer that can move one half faster than you and see your blood pools?
Jump in a locker
Victor can hold you in for 10 seconds. Not much but enough for Charlotte to get close to get there and give the final blow, from experience.
Travel in pairs
Good luck if Charlotte is close then
Understand that corners exist
Wont stop Victor from downing you and Charlotte from picking you up
"What are you gonna do, heal mid chase? against a killer that can move one half faster than you and see your blood pools?"
Injured in a chase? Should have healed.
"Victor can hold you in for 10 seconds. Not much but enough for Charlotte to get close to get there and give the final blow, from experience."
It's 7 seconds, as 3 of those 10 seconds are spent waking up. More than enough time for the Survivor to break free, from experience.
"Good luck if Charlotte is close then"
Oh no, what's an M1 Killer with literally no power gonna do?
"Wont stop Victor from downing you and Charlotte from picking you up"
Of course, the thing that prevents Victor's pounce from reaching you won't stop Victor from downing you. Of course.

Victor is one of the strongest 1v1 abilities in DBD I have used. Especially with extra victor speed and attack charge speed add-ons.
Unfortunately, I don't like the character or aesthetics. But it doesn't make them any less strong.
Heal.
Jump in a locker.
Travel in pairs.
Understand that corners exist.
If you do any of these 4 things, Victor's 1v1 is now completely useless.

Imo this only works against bad Victor players. A good Victor can just use his 150% until his on your arse and pounce. If you're talking about looping really small trees and rocks you can just double back while charging pounce and it'll surely hit the survivor.
" A good Victor can just use his 150% until his on your arse and pounce."
He doesn't go at 150% while charging a pounce. He slows to a crawl. For a while. It's very easy to just round a corner while he's charging.
"If you're talking about looping really small trees and rocks you can just double back while charging pounce and it'll surely hit the survivor."
Unless you're talking about REALLY small trees, like tress with a diameter shorter than the length of my [pencil], then getting hit here is 100% the Survivor's fault. They can hear Victor the entire time and if they're using their third-person camera properly, they'll be able to see him well before he can see them and launch the pounce.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
I hate the fact that Victor's pounce feels awful to use for the killer player but it is also unfun for survivors as it is almost impossible to evade a good Victor player due to him being a 150% Demogorgon (and he even has speed addons for some stupid reason).
The best part is, if you know the counter, it's not hard to avoid at all. If you find something like a rock or a short loop it's so easy to just play Ring Around the Rosie with a Victor for an eternity. Now, the counter here would be moving back from the loop so you can pounce over it and hit the Survivor... but you can barely look up at all for some reason so doing that is next to impossible on most walls. And even if you could look up, you'd probably just pounce over the Survivor anyways.
Or, of course, you can just press the space bar on a locker and achieve total invincibility if Charlotte is more than a sneeze away.
-
I used to have a friend who ran Object of Obsession almost every single game. Not to be a dick, not for his SWF (he usually played solo), just because the information was really, really good.
For almost a year now he's stopped running Object in favor of Spine Chill.
That's how good it is.
-
Blight. For some reason so many people say he's bad, even going so far as to call him the worst Killer in the game. I genuinely believe that a good Blight is a stronger Killer than a good Spirit.
As a former Demo main, I disagree on Demo. His power does everything, but he only does everything okay. The portals are only okay in mobility and easy to counter, and Shred is only okay as a chase tool compared to stuff like the speargun or Punishment of the Damned. His constant notifications of where he is and what he's doing are also a massive hindrance, and it's VERY easy to W key him.

Surveillance requires you to actually kick gens which can waste huge amounts of time in some situations. Gearhead just activates as your playing the game and hitting people.
Surveillance also doesn't tell you when they get off the gen.
Gearhead doesn't last long at all, is reliant on Survivor luck, can be countered by Survivors who are good with skill checks, and is much less useful on Killers who are special attack-reliant in a chase.
Surveillance works when you want it, where you want it, and synergizes excellently with all gen regression Perks, especially Ruin, Surge, and Oppression.
-
@Withered8 said:
I've been running gearhead on a few killers recently and I've found it to be far far more useful than it's ever been made out to be. The information it gives you basically allows you to tell when and where survivors are working on generators much like thrilling but in some ways better. The fact that it procs after two hits means that you don't need to pick up or hook to activate it like bbq and thrilling but it also has the versatility to be used after downs to see which gens to go to after hooking a survivor, basically a thrilling which you can proc whenever you get hits rather than pick up people, allowing you to use it in far more situations. The gens also turn off yellow if the survivor/s get of the gen, giving you the ability to tell which gens more urgently need pressuring/popping and where the survivors are more likely to be at.
Don't get me wrong, the perk isn't top tier as it is limited by the basic attack condition (much like surge), but I feel it is incredibly underated for it's ability to act as a portable thrilling as such. Let me know if you think as such or if you still believe it is garbage.
Note: (I think someone else mighta done a post like this a while back but it's been a while and I thought I'd reiterate it incase not)
Yeah but why justify any of that when you can just, you know, run Surveillance?
