Is anyone else tired of the broken hitboxes after vaulting pallets or windows?
I don't think that there is ANY reason as to why a killer can hit us when we're 5 feet away after vaulting.
It's EXTREMELY broken and frustrating.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who's frustrated with this.
ESPECIALLY when you're being tunneled to hell and back the whole game.
I could imagine it may not be as easy as a fix as we, the community may think but with all of these updates and new things added, fixing hitboxes after vaulting should be a priority in my opinion.
What do you guys think?
I have been sick of it for a long time. You can't evade if the hitboxes allow them to hit any hit with ease and most of the time doesn't need to connect with the survivor for to register. Survivors then rely on perks and those just get nerfed...

Iron Will is currently one of the most dysfunctional perks in the game, I think it can be the same as before or bring a small buff.
Those that say it's fine are the killers who cried about it. I agree with you, if they are gonna made an impacting side effect such as "exhaustion disables it", then it should not be 75%. If you take away exhaustion, make it 75%. They nerfed it when they nerfed the perks killers cried about such as self care and DS so they gave them multiple nerfs. All it did was keep your noise silent. Quit acting like it was some super perk just because you're bad at tracking

It is Avg Zodiac92#166 I appreciate it 🙏
-
I was thinking might be related but wasnt sure if others experienced this with just public matches and/or after every match. I didn't play a custom just public matches and I also restarted the game but it just continues to happen..
-
Recently played a match where they all that with ashes perk and soul guard and kept running to the top. I definitely agree with the toxic behavior
-
Playing solo with cross-platform on. I play on ps4. Happens almost every single match. Won't be playing until it's fixed because it's just a huge waste of time. A huge disappointment when you load forever only to have to close out the game and restart it each time.
-
For me it happens after loading out of a lobby. Tips continue to roll but it never enters the match. I have to cancel the app and restart it, happens a few times. Happens when I am survivor and I play solo so its not triggered by invites. I play ps4 with cross play on.

killer is HARD to play with against strong swfs or survivors. Not easy at all. That's all I got to say to you.
Completely agree. As killer, it seems those are my ONLY match up. Takes the greater part of ten minutes to get a match and when I do, they are toxic swf teams. It's so obvious by the way they play too. All have infinite loops memorized, they troll you if possible while the rest gen rush. This game isn't balanced at all and killer is not easy if you're good.

Thank you BHVR for the recent fixes and the changes to the moris (look forward to see what you do with keys), but admittedly I'm really hesitant to play because I'm constantly being matched against players that are far more experienced than me. One of the last killer matches I played had my rank 14 Bubba going up against an all-rank 4 SWF.
I know the MMR is coming soon, but matchmaking in its current state is not fun. If you can shed any light on when it's coming it would be greatly appreciated.
I too would like to know. Current matchmaking is such bs. I'm currently holding between rank 7&8 as both killer and survivor. Why is that when one player in lobby is rank 5 or less and then the entire lobby, killer included is the same. Why is it that I get matched with an entire lobby of rank 16-20, killer included when I am rank 8?? Why is it when I'm killer, im matched only with red rank 5 and lower swf teams?? It's such krap and makes no damn sense. It needs to be a prioritized fix!! I'm just baffled hit validation was a higher priority than match making seeing as this happens to all players. The reverse is valid too. Why are ranks 15-20 being matched with purple and red ranks? It's so unfair to them. And why are these discrepancies so inconsistent

So to start off, the twins as a killer have severe issues that the devs did not see coming in internal testing.
Someone has made a post explaining the issues with the twins in an in-depth manner much better than I ever could, read it if you want: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/210797/the-way-people-play-with-the-twins-proves-an-interesting-point#latest
for those who do not want to read it I'll summarize. The twins have thrown the spotlight on the issues of camping and slugging.
Now the devs have said before that they consider camping/tunneling/slugging to be valid tactics. But, they have implemented perks that act as band aid fixes for the abuse of those mechanics. DS for tunneling, BT for camping, and Unbreakable for slugging. It is worth mentioning that the only one of these that completely counters it's related issue is unbreakable. The devs also have somewhat recently brought up the point of how fun it is to go against something.
Those tactics (except camping) can make up for shortcomings in the match. Tunneling can keep survivor on a hook, thus requiring someone to get them off. Slugging is used to be able to apply massive slowdown by preventing multiple survivors from working on gens, while forcing a healthy survivor to pick them up. The main point is these tactics slow the game down to a point where the killer can win against coordinated teams.
So with all of that in consideration, why have the devs not addressed these issues? They are aware that fun is a factor in gameplay. But have not made Any attempts to make protections from those tactics in the base game. Despite many survivors complaining about how unfun they are.
At the same time, they have ignored the issue of match speed, something the 'unfun' tactics are used to address by players. That issue was to be resolved by the Early game slowdown mechanic, something that has not been mentioned for about a year, despite many voting for questions related to it in the QnA vote.
So why have those core issues not been addressed in the four years this game has been out?
Give your thoughts, sorry if this post comes off in a certain way. The intention was not to talk smack about the devs, but ask a legitimate question.
I'm honestly glad you mentioned the camping and tunneling. Tunneling when used tacitly makes sense though its unfun for the victim. There needs to be some disadvantage for the killer who obsessively tunnels and camps same victims. I got chased a whole match by a demo who couldn't catch me until all gens were completed. Although i was quite good as a goat, it was really annoying to be tunneled and then the same as soon as i was rescued. It's annoying that they refuse to do anything against killers that hardcore camp and then tunnel once a BT rescue takes place. Instead they have this ridiculous penalty to appease those whining because people DC because they hardcore camp or tunnel them. No-one wants to deal with that, it's simply not fun. I understand DC in other situations but concerning camping and tunneling is my argument.
Now we have a new killer who only camps and slugs. She releases Victor while idle near the hook and then used Victor to camp so he can pounce as soon as they are rescued. If he pounces the rescuer them they just resume Charlotte and chase the unhooked survivor who has had barely any time to make distance. Or they camp the downed survivor so they can pounce a healer Happened several times to me and what I observed to others. It's completely ridiculous that Victor can continue to pounce survivors after downing an injured survivor. It's the equivalent to a killer not having any sucessful hit cool down. If he hits one then he should be forced to recall Or remain idle. I haven't played the twins yet but there doesn't appear to be any type of cool down or range penalties
Another way ######### is broken and this needs changed. Also its very annoying how a map that was already overplayed is now having its encounter rate even higher due to graphic design. Last few days I haven't played Ormond once and every single match is the junkyard. It's just really annoying and the reason why I have started not liking this game awhile ago and playing nee games. This is gonna be many people or new people will just leave sooner rather than later.

The amount of fun you have as killer directly starts dropping off the higher rank that you get. The survivors get more disrespectful, and all games become tediously demanding, requiring you to multitask at a high level while a survivor sits somewhere and holds m1 on a generator.
Just played 4 red rank swf teams with multiple rank 1s in a row as a rank 6 killer on ranked. Not only was every single one of them disrespectful during the matches, they all had something disrespectful to say after the match. Its like a tradition in this game to be as disrespectful as you can to the killer for some reason.
And to top it all off? There is zero reward for being a higher rank killer. Is the 4k still satisfying if you got crapped on and disrespected the whole match? At least as survivor the games stay fun all the way to rank 1. I do not deal with a fraction of the abuse on other competitive games like Siege or Tekken
Completely agree like 10000%. I used to love being killer, now I can't stand it and it's never fun. You have to play extremely sweaty matches and get bullied and trolled by other survivors. I am never matched with non swf. Almost every single match consists of them and ita highly obvious. From the names to the dedicated goat paired with gens popping off magically within minutes. Then you get the tea baggers and all of them rising you yo block you from hooking. Then they all rush after gates are open. There's always players with BT. They body block so you can down their teammate.
It always starts once you get closer to 10. Anything less than ten and your matches are full of this. For some reason that's how my matching is. There's absolutely no incentive for ranking up as killer. Still think there should be a limit of two for teamers.

-Oni's crappy camera when in a blood fury is a very stupid way to give his power some skill ceiling. I don't think he needs any limits when he's in his super mode.
-Nurse is completely unbalanced and that is fine, because vs'ing her isn't even playing DBD anymore.
-Huntress is not that good of a killer, carried by bad hitboxes and overzealous mains that were rejected from CS:GO. Giving her more strict hitboxes like with deathslinger (although still more generous give how fast he is) would send her to bottom tier, even with better hatchet reloading.
-Hag is dumb and this is a popular opinion but I wanted to say that to those who defend her in this thread. Hah, I win, bums.
-Demogorgon has a lot of potential and could easily be top 5 with some minor tweaks.
-Doctor is trash and only thrives when played by ridiculously good players. He's only used for griefing otherwise.
-Clown is better than Wraith.
-Wraith is absolute garbage without his best addons. Like, unplayable against decent players kind of bad, which I can't even say for addon-less Clown.
-Survivors should have a stamina bar of some kind to add more dynamics than just hopping from tile to tile, to which most are super safe anyway.
-Ruin-Undying isn't nearly as strong as people think, but it 100% carries so many solo games it likely needs some revision.
-Hawkins is fun.
-Sweating to eliminate a survivor from the game when not even a gen was finished earns the right for other survivors to grief you in any imaginable way possible, from immersed gameplay to keep the game hostage to taking your frames with flashlight macros.
-T-bagging is funny and shouldn't trigger anyone. But it's definitely fine if it gets your attention to a particular survivor more often.
-The DC penalty doesn't fix anything and mostly punishes people who are in unbearable situations.
I agree alot with OP and your post. So many valid things. I also wanna add playing bubba and using BBQ is predictable and boring and your lack of skill shows. Even with "buffs" hillbilly and bubba 100% rely on chainsaws snd body block for the down. It's pathetic and very boring. I don't know why people get so triggered with tea bagging lol

I play solo queue most of the time so I have loads to tell...
- Watching everyone selfcare on the opposite end of the map while slowly going into second state.
- Running the killer a long time only to get left behind because everyone is way too scared to come and get me
- 2 min chase, no gens get done, get hooked; O that's why they are all urban evading looking for totems.
- Getting blocked in a corner when I'm cleansing a totem until the killer comes, apparently they wanted that totem...
- Stealing my item out of a chest
- Me on hook, chase happening around my hook...Why!?
- 1 on hook, 1 slug, me gesturing come here!!! But nope slug does not move giving the killer no reason to leave.
- Bringing the killer towards my gen only for me to find out in the endgame screen he did that on purpose using bond
- Run off while I have we'll make it, because healing in a corner is better
- Not taking the hit for me while I gave you borrowed time and I'm already injured
- Not going for the unhook after I take chase letting the one on the hook go into second state because a gen is more important
- Blocked in a corner until my reversed beartrap ended my match
- Pointing at my locker while the killer is right there
- Vaulting the window next to me a thousand times to attract the killer while I'm busy with a hex and than try blocking my escape route
- Last 2 alive, let's do nothing at all and hide for hatch. I'm not the one hiding so I guess I'll die
- Crawling towards hatch, teammate takes chase right over my location pushing my survival odds to zero.
Some of these I did report, others are just misplays. Never a dull day in solo.😎
I only play solo and man these are spot on. So irritating. I will only chase around a hook when I have BT and I'm waiting for the killer to miss a strike.
I feel your pain and those toxic situations are straight BS

Curious if you're aware that items dropped via Franklin's Demise will eventually get eaten by the entity? It might not be your teammates taking it. If they did take it though, at least it's likely getting some use in the match instead of being lost forever.
Knowing of demise i have picked it up and returned it back to the player so they didn't have to lose it. I have used the perk myself and also lost my stuff many times

Oh heyyyy... thanks for blocking my path, and giving the killer a free hit.
I camp pallets when I know someone is being chased so when they run past I drop it on the killer because i know they saw their current chase run through it and aren't expecting me to be there; to try to allow you some distance. Works so many times
But I would never intentionally sabotage a teammate unless they were toxic to me

The other day I was opening a chest in the middle of the cornfield and another survivor went to the other side and stole the contents from me the second I opened it. I considered it an extremely ######### thing to do especially since it was a med kit and I wasn’t running self care. Not too long afterwards she got hooked so I did something that I never do: I ran over to the hook and tea bagged her instead of unhooking and then ran off. Somebody else was coming to her aid anyways so it wasn’t like she was put out for more than a few extra seconds. On her second hook no one came to her aid and neither did I (I instead opted to cleanse a nearby totem which was my rift objective and therefore more important). She wound up dying, as did everybody else, but hopefully that person went away with the feeling that maybe next time to not be a dick to your teammates. And for what it is worth that was the only person I treated that way. I actually died by using BT on another person hooked in the basement.
Any other stories?
That's horrible and I would have done the same, proud of you for doing that.
Once I was self healing and someone dropped a health kit and walked away. I decided for the hell of it to use it. Dropped my flashlight with good add one for one second and someone else walked over and took my flashlight. I was so pissed even more so when I proceeded to follow them wanting it back and they never did. Like that was so rude and felt completely planned.

I’ve just been thinking for a little bit and spies from the shadows might be better than whispers I wanna test it out but I just wanna hear from you amazing people
This is a legit question. Both are situational and both are only effective with the higher tiers. Whispers you would need T3 and spies is okay 2 or 3. Whispers you may search for a survivor and waste time not finding one and spies only matters if they disturb a crow while hiding. I have used both together with great result. Drawback is it will still activate for the survivor on the hook or if they are crawling in the dying state. Also calm spirit renders spies ineffective.
-
I completely agree. There has been so many times due to sweaty see or infinite loopers that I have only gotten them due to bloodlust tier 1&2. This is ridiculous. It's also so ironic how it takes me bloodlust to catch survivors meanwhile as a survivor killers gain speed on me like 15-20 secs into chase

I feel ya. I hate campers but if a swf pops hella gens and the dedicated troll tbags me i will throw the game for them and facecamp tf outta them
-
Yes me too!! I thought it was just me. Sooo many times I blind them and it doesn't stun them. Then a survivor isn't even pointing it at me long enough and it stuns me. There is so much inconsistency with it, its irritating
-
Chances are they matched you with a team which is all I get matched with. I'm beyond tired of it and its not fun at all. I'm so close to not play this game. It wouldn't even be bad concerning a team if they weren't obviously on comms and/or toxic players. I completely agree with you to say the least lol
-
I completely agree 1000%
I had some aholes yesterday too. One match they stood on a roof pointing away while I was on the hook. Until almost second phase. Them they all came and started to unhook me. Looked as so they wouldn't be grabbed. This went on for like 30 seconds until one did unhook. Of course the killer tunneled only me. Then I got rescued again only to be tunneled again. I had another match where i encountered a hole framers and I quit the second one. I'm so tired of these toxic players and teamers. I have been playing this almost a year everyday and I have been looking for other games. As a killer I am ONLY matched against teams of 4 obviously on comms. Mostly toxic but even then it's still irritating. Magically popping gens in under minutes. The same tricks I try as a survivor that fail are granted to them( like infinite looping, "missed hits" Downing but still able to do hatch or unable to close it) they always wait at gates to be downed and refuse to exit other wise. The players are bullies and toxic and its making me not wanna play anymore either. Everyone cries about DC but there are reasons people disconnect which refuse to he dealt with.
-
If you don't tunnel, just let them hide in there, they aren't getting anything done wither. It's only sixty seconds max. Also you could just watch them watch you and eventually they will come out. Or you can just slug them and then move on. Or just eat 5 seconds and let them get you plus they aren't always sucessful at the skill check. Unbreakable can only be used once and head on you can approach from the sad very fast and they can't use the perk
I have purposely hid in a locker so a killer would waste his time thinking I had DS because he tunneled me straight off the hook.
-
100% because they know survivors are waiting there just to tea bag or have them down them when they will just force exit anyways. It's the one part of being able to control of not getting toxic behavior. If you can escape, do it. If your gonna save someone then do that. It's annoying asf when they wait just to teabag. It's one thing if they tunneled you or camped you and you got away, but still. I agree with the comment that survivors are mad they can't get satisfaction from teabagging

That is some bullshit, and a lot of it clearly. I see the majority of the community wanting iconic horror characters like Jason, Xenomorph, Pennywise, Chucky etc. Oh and don't forget Sidney and Brenda. Springtrap compared to them is nothing in my opinion, Springtrap isn't a horror classic killer.
So agreed, we want classic killers added and this is a child's game killer. Please just no
-
I think it's a good idea but alot of comments are pretty legit too. I 100% am behind your message because I too am soo tired of it. As a killer ,I get to endure toxic 3/4 people teams who tea bag at exits and pallets, body blockers or just coming in with tier 3 perks all the same (PT,BT,Spinechiller,DH,OOO). These perks alone can be dealt with but a whole team on comms are usually being offensive with them not using them defensively. Only ones who ever think it's okay are the ones who do these things and play survivor main with their friends. It makes being a high rank killer unwanted. I think either lobbies should be split to being swf and solo Q or limit number of teams in a particular lobby.

I find routing is best for dealing with Freddy rather than looping. If your asleep and you loop a pallet Freddy will just snare you. If you keep running from gym to gym his traps won't do anything unless you come back. Unless he rigged the place up before the chase. Not a great solution but it works. I looped a Freddy on his own map for a good amount of time this way. Running from houses to the school ect. Remember your not suppose to be able to lose the killer every chase. If he downs you that doesn't mean he is OP. Your goal is to waste as much time as possible for your team to finish the gens. If you loop him for a few minutes and no gens got repaired that's your teams fault.
Another tip is if your asleep and Freddy is no where near you or he is chasing someone else, set off all his snares. Yes it will reveal you but those snares will have to be replanted.
His teleport actually has a pretty long CD unless everyone is asleep. When being chased by Freddy be sure to pass a glance back at him to make sure he isn't teleporting to a gen that happens to be where you are running too. Or try to loop him to places where the gens were completed.
I'm against changing Freddy because I remember when he came out and how weak he was after survivors learned how to counter him. He was the weakest killer in the game until Legion got here. Now he is at least A rank IMO. Going from the bottom to near top is a vast improvement. The only thing I would change about him is make BT work off proximity to the hook rather than TR. Your oblivious when your asleep so BT doesn't work unless your awake.
I always find its just his chase speed. I have acknowledged that to be successful against a good Freddy you need to stay out of sight. I enjoy setting off his snares when he's not around so it doesn't screw over a survivor that may engage with it during a chase. The clocks thing needs fixed for sure; it's hard having to travel across map to find one clock only to be out of dream world like 1.5 mins at most. Looping never really works against him. I never would have thought of technician, that's a good idea even with the new penalty.
-
Honestly it can be inconvenient especially if they didn't notice that the hit have them exhaustion and they think they are gonna lithe or DH last second, I have been there lol also its an add on and all add one are fair play, it's not like it's a natural ability especially since its assumed you are chasing, you hit them cuz they aren't close enough and boom they can't further that chase. I still think it's hella unfair a huntress came throw a hatchet and then immediately hit them with axe. Its literally a double hit and renders the whole damage speed boost useless.
Also complaining about all survivors using meta perks is ridiculous. The object is to survive, escape chases, avoid being hooked to third phase, finish gens and escape. Alot of the perks are good ones in many situations and would make it incredibly easy for a killer to down a survivor and hook them if they didn't have them available Sorry that these perks make you work for your kill but it's balance. There's even certain perks that are limited to one use. Even as a killer main, i wouldn't want them to not have it. It's just becomes frustrating when its a group team and they all have the same ones but then again you can see it in action and plan or predict for next chase.

This is a point I dont understand:
" If a game wore on too long, their add-ons would essentially disintegrate making them base abilities."
I mean, in general, I dont like the idea and the examples provided are not good (1 time use for Self Care, multiple uses for Sloppy Butcher, as an example).
But why should something get worse when the game takes long? From my experience, long games are more fun than short games (of course only if they dont get too long by endless slugging for the 4K or by hiding and not progressing the game). Because a long game means that the Killer is going for multiple Hooks, the Survivors are decent at Chases and the Killer is also able to apply pressure so that Gens dont pop too fast.
Which sounds like a good game for me with a lot of BPs for both sides in the end. And having Perks or Add Ons become worse overtime (or simply disabled), would just make it worse than it should be when a game goes on for a longer time.
I agree completely. Longer games really shouldn't affect how it ends. And i definitely dont think self care should be affected. It's extremely useful and can stop a survivor from quick death. Med kits run out fast and aren't extremely common in the web. You have to rely on finding other survivors and getting them to heal you, granted you have time for such a thing. Maybe for some things it could almost make sense but SC isn't one of them. Also agreeing that longer games are more exciting because the stakes are higher and all parties involved get alot of points no matter the turn out. Personally i don't think abilities should be diminished to single use because i also agree your turning it into a single use perk. And the same idea here would pitch survivors healing each other would be limited too
this idea sounds killer biased seeing as survivor perks were the pitch..... Have enough problems in game, leave good things alone I'd say...
-
I completely agree with you. Or I'll struggle but if it's apparent noone cares then I'll let it go. It's so frustrating going second phase off first hook because you could have had more gameplay as well as been more helpful. I have seen one saved get objectives done and escaped all because they got saved. Personally as a survivor I can get alot done when saved. I don't mind being tunnelled, looping them, as long as I see two gens popped as soon as they pick me up. It is useful to leave them on hook to finish gens but that's only if it's guaranteed they are 100% being camped but it's still bad play as a teammate. I'm compelled to save a survivor before second phase and its just so frustrating watching nobody care and who wants to do pointless hook struggle.
-
Killer mains love the chance to force survivors to make their wins. They get the chance to tunnel and camp and a survivor has to take it other wise way a penalty. They crutch with "second chance options" which just try to balance out the advantages killers have. Also it's not really second chance if the killer is gonna tunnel that person. Or they just slug and camp and now get to bait people effectively to get the win. Or they get wins based purely on perks and killer abilities and not actual skill. Like insidious bubba or camping GF.
Love the one sided perspective here, nothing productive just people talking krap to each other, even against those making suggestions or voicing observations.
Also I main as both and as a killer I never dealt with this absurd amount of DCs so chances are its your gameplay that is causing it. As a survivor occasionally it would happen which I agree it's frustrating. Sometimes looked to be connection time outs seeing as it happened as it was loading or immediately after match started. Also the complaining of hook suicides is ridiculous. You still get your kill and its less work for you. Sucks for fellow survivors but not all of them planned to help anyways due to Swf teams. And who really wants to play the match when they are being camped or were tunneled until they got hooked.
This is just so comical to know exactly what role you play based on comments.
-
As a main for both sides, these are my observations:
If there's a dc penalty people are gonna suicide on hook for many reasons:
no option to leave match without penalty which they would do so for some legit reasons but definitely some do it for having even the slightest mishap happening to them.
Killer is camping or tunneling them which is unfun especially when using insidious or relying on chainsaw. Or just targeting you based on character or skin or simply because they were your first target.
Glitches concerning hit validation including huntress hatchets
Seasoned survivor matched with baby survivors and seasoned killer (mmr fault)
On the hook and no-one is attempting a rescue or they're being camped so don't wanna attempt an unsafe unhooking
Dying state and no-one is rescuing you at all or the killer is just babysitting you waiting for someone to come along(same as hook camping)
There's the whole issue with fps, or their connection. Also can result in a disconnect outside their control and DBD can't differentiate
Killers going against toxic sfw teams who just keep trolling them. Happens alot to me but I don't disconnect because it gives them points but doesn't mean I want to because it's dun for them because they are in control of the game and most unfit for a killer because then they are doing a sweat match
The argument that unless they deal with reasons why they disconnect, hook suicides is totally legit. It is unfair to fellow team members or killers but that can't be helped until other factors are dealt with. As for the killer, you got the hook and kill and they didn't disconnect so why are you complaining? Because you didn't get the chance to camp and bait effectively or get multiple hook points? Maybe don't camp and it would be possible. Because camping is allowed, alot do it and no-one wants to play being camped or wants their fellow survivors falling victim to their bait.
You can always be rude and say play a different game or don't be an entitled baby but think about the logic of it all. If you have your sfw team or don't play killer, you have no idea what it feels like playing hopelessly if any of these conditions have happened to you.

Thanks for making that clear, I thought I was "winning" the game by just killing the survivors. This proves why I haven't been ranking up as well.
To add, I'm pretty sure you actually don't get much points for bleed out concerning the kill of the survivor.

When I see them tunneling or camping someone, i feel inclined to step in. I'll even take a hook just to let them get some room to breathe. It's such a dick move to be hardcore tunneling or trolling one. You can also usually tell the bad ones too...

I know there have been many threads with feedback regarding the Rift, but I feel like I need to express my own concerns about the Rift and my future with DBD. To put it simply, the current system of near constant Rifts being active is making me want to quit playing DBD altogether. I have completed each of the first 3 Rifts with 1-2 weeks of time remaining. In each case, I completed the Archives and landed at about Tier 65-67, and was able to grind out the rest of the tiers, but it left me exhausted from playing DBD. After reaching Tier 70 in all previous Rifts, I ended up taking breaks from the game and did not play until the next Rift started (which ends up being a few weeks).
This latest Rift, however, is pushing me over the edge. Despite playing a similar number of hours and keeping the similar playing patterns (usually getting at least the 2 games min per day, and more when time is available), I have completed the Archives, got to Tier 61, and have a week to grind out 9 tiers if I want to complete the Rift. Mathematically, it would take about 20 hours in game to achieve this. This does not count for queue times, loading times, BP spending, and max XP efficiency (i.e. getting out of the game right at the 10 min mark when xp gain/second stops). I do not think this is feasible to accomplish this in a week without ridiculous sacrifices, but it is obviously my choice whether to attempt it or not. What bothers me most, though is that I'm put in this position at all.
As a big fan of DBD, I've played about 1,350 hrs over the past 4 years, and never have I felt more irritated and annoyed about the game. I've participated in all the in-game events DBD has offered, including the crazy community challenges from year 1, and completed them all. I'm perfectly willing to do limited time events, but not ones that are 70 days long and restart a few weeks later. Because of the daily nagging to play (to get the bonus XP for Survivor and Killer), DBD has become more of a chore that I feel demands far too much attention, and consequently drains my willingness to play.
Obviously to some extent this is a self-inflicted wound. Sure, I should just "not care" about the Rift, but the Rift is designed to MAKE you participate in it. Regardless of what you do, the challenge widget pops up after every game and reminds you and gnaws at you that the Rift is going and you have challenges to do/prizes to claim. Again, this is fine for shorter events that last a week or two, but the Rift has become something that I frankly hate and despise. So much so that I am going to be more annoyed and pissed off that I got so far in the current Rift and didn't quite reach the goal; which feels like my time was wasted, which ultimately makes me not want to play at all. This endless cycle of Rifts is unsustainable (for me), and I really hate it.
Please... for those at BHVR that have any empathy for people's time, stop doing Rifts to often, and stop making them harder to complete (yes the community has done the math, we know you did this on purpose).
I have noticed the same thing and honestly thought it was just me. My gameplay was the same and the last rift I completed with like a few weeks before it closed. Now it's like 5 days and I probably still have like 9 to go. Plus I feel there should be better rewards that the constant trinkets which do absolutely nothing for the player. Especially since I unlock the pass

LOL, I find myself sometimes taking hits well beyond a corner.
It's like: "UM. I DISAGREE???"
I completely agree!! I have been behind the wall of a corner before she throws and I get hit and I have gotten hit completely covered behind a tree. The hits are such bs right now

More people need to start doing this, the amount of arguments I've seen about a killer due to the lack of experience they have against them/playing as them is insane.
It's obvious I'm mainly referring to deathslinger here, but this also applies to hag, PH, etc, you know them killers.
Just before I get called out, this does NOT mean I'm trying to say "Oh you're just bad against X killer, git gud". Some killers have some mechanics that are annoying, in fact every killer has something that can be deemed annoying, I hate michael and pig, the killers that are seen as the most "fun" in the game.
But do not complain about something that is caused by your lack of experience playing as or against the killer.
And even, if a killer is annoying you, play that killer and see if you find anything such as strategies, that could help against said annoying mechanic. Don't assume that you're some survivor god who knows everything and all possible outcomes against that killer, as it's likely that there's a main of that killer that knows 100x more than you.
I completely agree. I see so many complaints about even the basic mechanics of being killer that it's obvious they don't play killer. I started playing mainly killer and would complain about survivor things and then when I started playing survivor alot makes sense. I don't act like a toxic player tho, from either side, that's where it gets really annoying and even i complain about it.

I totally agree with you. I find that as a survivor who is rank 8, im always paired with a similar ranked killer and 14-20 survivors who aren't good and always unhook in front of killer without BT.
As a killer of similar rank, I'm always paired with 3/4 man sfw teams that pop gens fast and are toxic trolls towards me.
It makes the game unfun alot. Part of the game is hiding and blending in but not at the expense of letting eveyone else die. I also hate when a teamer DC and his teammate goes with them leaving the other ones screwed.
Tunnelers and campers also really suck.

Between the sounds, tunnel set ups and a brown add on being required for him, I really think Demogorgon is one of the weakest killers on the roster, and I've never seen the Stranger Things series so I don't know if Demo is a noisy boy in canon but...
...he should just embrace it as soon as you load in, just start screaming the entire match. It wouldn't be much of a change from how it is now.
It won't make him stronger, but everyone likes inhuman screeching.
In the series: When's close by hes not really that loud and he never clomps around or walks on two legs. It's why i don't like using him. He clomps and is so clumsy and not agile at all. Then I noticed as a survivor I can hear it all lol

Im not biased because I am a main for both. I always laugh it off when a killer basically has perks that do the work for them in addition to a killer that's really easy to win with like GF, wraith,PH.... It just shows their skill level when they must have something like this to win. I literally think the argument against survivor builds is ridiculous because it protects against the many killers that wanna camp and tunnel plus it only has one use each. And as for BT, very rare for a whole team to have it, so if you know they are the one with BT you focus on them not the survivor they just helped or you chase the survivor for a max of 20 seconds for when it runs out and then attack. With ruin, they do indeed to be applying the pressure but thats easy to do, its usually the catching them that takes skill. With tinkerer, even if they do gens you will be on them instantly and them ruin kicks in while you chase bringing it back down to 70% or lower. Like it is smart but OP to use that kind of combo. Personally I don't like to rely on needing effective perks to decide how good I am and if they get taken out then your useless...

Anybody else having the issue of disappearing survivors? Like I was chasing someone and just before I could hit them they just vanished into thin air. Not like ducked out of the way but like I seen them just turn into nothingness
Yes. I have. One match someone kept doing that and i assumed on hacker. She would rescue, i would chase it was like on some loop because she was in the location when I first started the chase. Then I just had that happen recently. It's so weird. Also I have had this teleport issue with a lot of other killers

Like i said, i keep playing killer but its mostly ruined because of massive SWF groups, they treat me like a joke and gen-rush me, it makes playing killer unfun sometimes and i feel we should be given the choice to play with SWF groups or not.
I have Aspergers and losing so badly to SWFs groups makes me feel very victimized.
There are times when i win, i don't always lose, but SWFs groups making fun of me still gets to me a bit.
Please, give people the option to cancel out SWF groups or do something to identify who is SWFs in the lobby or not.
I completely agree. Most people commenting against this play SFW I would imagine. I think we should be given the option because if we care about both sides having fun then the killer is not having fun. I am pretty good as a killer but when your chatting and coordinating its definitely not fair to the killer. Then the popping 3/4 gens in under two mins when your chasing their goat. Sometimes I destroy them because i know they are sfw that will come rescue and troll but sometimes they troll me and escape. It's frustrating and I hate playing killer because it never feels like I'm gonna get a normal match. They should change something that allows you to opt out of going against teams or limit number allowed. I was thinking seperate lobbies for like two player teams because alot of killers don't wanna deal with that and wanna have fun and some killers love playing against teams.

Nothing can or should be done to punish suicide on hook. But I do think there should be a mechanic to reward survivors for sticking around. You know.. a carrot instead of a stick.
Its been my thought but I think one generator should automatically start per disconnect. It's really hard when a teamer DCs and then his team follows. Or even at the start of the match when one DCs. I know sometimes it's connection and sometimes intentional but it's really hard to continue as a survivor. I don't support the time bans but feel the DCing could be appropriated other ways

I agree, killers camp and tunnel all the time and they deem it acceptable. I play both alot and its legit to use that combo. DS can only be used once so I just bite it early on then its no problem. UB can just br countered by picking them up. Plus just chase after DS that way you still get your next level kill or last stage of sacrifice. Never fall for the locker or doing an action grab just attack them instead. I don't think it's fair to so something about that build when alot of times its the only way to counter a killer who is camping you or has been tunneling you. Also I agree not all red ranks are good. It's the 3/4 man sfws that are the problem.
