To me BBQ is an optional tool for killers to use if they want to use it.
I think the survivors aura shouldn't be the same color as generators.Make survivors have golden auras so they stand out but if they arw hiding behind a gen then let the gens aura block off the golden survivor aura.
It's had a big nerf, let the perk do what it's meant for.
Exactly.

Discuss...You can’t use “average killer”. For perks like these, you must ALWAYS keep thevfact that hillbilly exists in mind. Him with bbq on rotten Fields is straight undeniable cancer. Also it does show auras as intended, and gens are meant to block ahead, which is why the gen color changed to a deeper color, to better block auras. Also lockers are solely dedicated to blocking auras, so a random ass perk shouldn’t defeat that entire purpose. Same goes for distortion.
So instead of using an average killer on all maps, you want my baseline to be a single killer on a single map? Great way to balance perks! Awesome suggestion! No wonder you are so giving with your opinions! They are fantastic way to balance a game!
Quit cherry picking what I say. I’m saying it should always be kept in mind if some perk or add on will break some function of the game. This is the exact reason tinkerer was completely changed. Quit putting words in my mouth.
So what function does a single perk on a single map with a single killer break the entire game? I quoted exactly what you said. You want to balance a perk that you feel is "cancer" with a single killer on a single map and I want that perk balanced across all killers on all maps... how am I putting words in your mouth? Removal of tinkerer which proves my point
What point is that? That the Devs were unable to support the original design and "reworked" it? Does that prove your point that Billy is OP? I think not... what it does prove is that you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about:
Source: https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Tinkerer#Rework
Tinkerer required an immense workload of additional coding each time new Add-ons were created, since the Developers had to work with a static buff and keep mind that Add-ons without it shouldn't be too weak and those with it shouldn't be too strong. They compared that workload to having to create an additional set of Unique Perks for the Killer, something they were no longer willing to do and thus intended for Tinkerer to be reworked eventually, which happened with Patch 2.1.0.

The issue is that some sort of auto aim is happening when I swing and move camera on console and whatever this auto aim is, it makes me miss way more than it helps.
I even had the auto aim kick in through a wall last night when I was walking by and the survivor was on the other side of the wall and the camera jerked in the wall direction.
It need a check box in options to disable. -

Letting survivors just walk by you is playing to lose.Maybe if you're a trash killer. If you're a good killer with a big lead then you can easily afford to play fair. I will go around and 3 hook everyone if they just don't do gens fast enough. I'm not sweaty for a kill when I'm clearly going to win anyway.
The Patriots should have "played fair" by letting the Chiefs win since they have won the last few Super Bowls.
Insane much?
This is what is being suggested. Playing to lose is playing "fair" now? Really?
You must like participation trophies. In the real world, these do not exist.
If you are good survivor, you won't get caught in the first place. LOL!
Don't blame "trash killers" for your mistake at getting caught. You failed, not them. Participation trophy denied. LOL!
Now, in reality, when I play, I go after the closest survivor when I return to the hook, I don't care if it is the one that was just hooked or the other one as generally turning around and going for the one shot down would take more time than hitting the two hit down rescuer.
It is playing the game smart. If you "think" you are being tunneled, maybe you were the closest one to hit. Blame the other survivor for getting away better than you did, not the killer for "tunneling" and wanting to win and "ruin your fun" in a team game. Wow... just wow... LOL!

I do not know what makes this game fun for you, so why should it be my responsibility to make it fun for you? I know some people enjoy jump scare killers, so is that how I should play every game? Wait, some people want to play against ultra competitive killers, is that how I should play? Some people find being hit not fun, so I can no long try to down a survivor? Please tell me whose idea of fun I should put into my killer style, since its now my responsibility to make sure every survivor has fun.
Those are very specific types of fun & unfun. Nobody, and i mean nobody in this world likes being camped from hook 1 and getting downed immediately after and hooked again. Everytime, no exeptions, and little gens done.
It's simple to not know what type of play an individual would think is fun or not. But that's no excuse. Because it's also simple to know what is simply unfun for everyone. Not only the survivor on the hook has no fun, the other 3 survivors do 5 gens and leave with no bp, maybe they don't even pip. How can winning be so unfun? Nobody thinks that's fun, so it's not about what people would prefer to play against, it's about basic knowledge about something that's obviously not fun for anyone. Probably killer included, i don't think camping is fun. Do you honestly think that walking around on 5% of the map, constantly looking at a hook is fun? No, that's why it's considered toxic. Because ruining someone elses fun is why you do it and then hide your pathetic sadness behind a : "yes, let me bathe in your salt yummy yummy. Ez kill" when people critisise you for it.
I'm talking about unneeded camping, which for me, and a lot of other people, is considered toxic.
"Unneeded camping at hook 1" is toxic? How does the killer figure out that it is unneeded at the beginning of the game? How can the other three survivors guarantee the killer does not depip? By running to them and getting hooked willingly? Working with the killer? What are you suggesting?
See my post above concerning "team" play... you are on a hook with a camping killer to let the rest of the TEAM get out... and your response of...
"Not only the survivor on the hook has no fun, the other 3 survivors do 5 gens and leave with no bp, maybe they don't even pip."
Please explain to me how completing generators AND escaping is zero blood points with excaping and not getting hit is not piping?
Here is a Emblem refresher course:https://deadbydaylight.gamepedia.com/Emblems#Survivor_Emblems
Don't lump all killers into "you ruin my fun by camping"... again, it is not the killers responsibility for "you to have fun". If the killer has fun by camping, guess what? You participated in that, but you ALWAYS want it the other way around. Selfish much?
Escaping and not piping? When is it the killers responsibility for you to pip? Do you even play? If you repair gens and escape without even getting hit... you win!
But a camping killer with only one hook and a sac with 3 others popping 5 gens and escaping without even hitting anyone else will downrank... that is all the punishment they need. Seriously. These silly ass arguments are what is toxic about the community, not camping killers.
-
@PiiFree said:
You can always trade hooks these days, there is no "idiot proof" camping, especially now with the unhook invulnerability.Yes, camping is a strategy. Is it a good strategy? Sometimes yes, but most of the time it's not. Is it scummy and unfun? For the Survivors for sure!
...but it's not toxic. It's just a Killer that doesn't give a damn about the Survivors fun / experience, nothing more. Many Survivors don't give a damn about the Killers fun, they do nothing to tune up the experience of the Killers so why should the Killer do that?
Name me one thing that Survivors regularly and intentionally do to increase the fun for the Killer while it actually hurts themselves?
I agree.
Describe a way that survivors make it fun for a killer? Anybody? Why is it required for a killer to NOT play the game as intended to "make it fun" for the other team?
Why is it OK for a killer to "just" get a 2k and "let" other people escape? They let you win, which is "cooperating with the other team" and a bannable offense... yes?Ever think that maybe it is "fun" for a killer to go for the quad kill? Why should I care about the OTHER teams "feelings being hurt" when I never at any point in time made you play the game. You know exactly what you signed up for... if you do not like what is happening, you are playing the wrong TEAM game.
The survivors signed up for a FOUR on ONE game and if you are one of those FOUR people that get caught... it is the killers fault?
I need a real life event here to compare to. So... give me any sporting event that, so the other team can "have fun", they "let them score more points?"
When, at any time ever in history, is it "ok" for a winning team, or "in the beginning" just step aside to let the underdog (survivors) score points and keep up. Is that actually fun for anybody?
This is what survivors want and it is absolutely ridiculous.Killers that play by the rules of the game ARE making it fun!
If you don't think it is fun to gather your TEAM and go rescue someone that is in need with a killer camping... then you are playing the wrong TEAM game.
If you think it is not fun to hang on a hook to give the rest of the TEAM time to pop gens while the killer camps, you are the problem, not the camping killer... in a TEAM game.
Be a TEAM player and suck it up.
If you are playing as an individual and the only thing you want is to escape via the hatch by hiding and whining, then you are playing the wrong TEAM game and you are the problem for all the other survivors and killers alike. -

No it's not ok behaviour but neither is naming and shaming on the forums and while BHVR can't ban until they get the ok from the console makers. That doesn't mean they're not keeping track of who's been naughty and who's been nice with the reports.
So you need to do the proper thing and take the video down and submit it directly to BHVR via a support ticket so that when bans go live those people get nailed.

I'll be willing to bet most of the tunneling is because your survivor group did like 3 gens in the first chase.I tend to not tunnel people as I get more points if they run off and heal because if I put them on the hook in the first place, I will catch them again and hit them twice to gain even more... After my P3-50 Spirit gains all level 3 perks (already have all perks available), I will no longer need points and will try and gain rank. I also need more practice finding people than standing there and waiting for someone to come to me that may actually never arrive (too climb the ladder).
However... this is why "garbage" killers, as OP put it... "tunnel"...
Everyone... be serious here... you are the killer... stay with me... someone is rescued from the hook... stay... with... me...
You must hit one of those people a single (one) time to down them... the other, twice (two).
Which do you pick because you need to put people down fast to delay generator repair?
If the player answering the question is a survivor main that never played killer, the answer is TWO!
If the player is neutral, while they play survivor, the answer is two, but while they play killer, it is one.
If the player is a killer main, the obvious choice is one... why make the game twice as difficult as it already is?!?All players, if wanting to "win", would pick "one". It is ridiculous to even suggest anything else.
With a voice com using SWF, anything other than answering one is basically an automatic derank... but killers have no idea if it is a "PUG" or a well coordinated SWF Rank 2 with 3X rank 15 bodyguards. Those garbage killers need to tunnel to fight garbage survivors. The easiest way to ensure a fighting chance with wild unknowns is tunnel everyone. Enough said.

Get real people. Get real. LOL!

As a side note: If I had the choice between killing strictly PUG or SWF, I would still go SWF as it is the most interesting and challenging... and if that option existed, hook me up with more BP if I pick SWF! (hint hint).
But if the group hasn't done a single gen you can afford to go after the "two hit" guy. I have no problem doing that I will even let the injured guy run past me without hitting them if that's the case. But most of the time, groups rush through gens which means I'm forced to go after the injured guy if I want to keep up.
Killers that outright for the injured guy with 5 gens and Ruin still up are the trash killers because they have no reason to do it.
Ruin can go away 1 second after playing to lose as a killer.
Letting survivors just walk by you is playing to lose.
Sounds like a survivor main justification. LOL!
Let's flip the coin... When all generators are done and not one, but two location are available to leave and impossible to be at both locations at once... how about all survivors just run to the killer and get hooked if they have not been on the hook before? I mean, hey, all generators are done so they have no reason to exit so fast and can afford to get hooked... Right? LOL!

Replay after the game is over via dedicated server save is one thing... watching a killers gameplay that you were a part of while it is happening is a big no IMHO.

It’s the best perk in the game, get over yourself. Maybe have some intuition instead of having the game make your decisions for you.
So I need to predict the future and be clairvoyant to play a game? I
your solution. Why didn't I think of that?!? Oh, I know... because it is ridiculous. LOL!
Take that quote and direct it to everyone who doesnt have bbq and chili. Stop being a dick. You get to see people when you hook people AND get bp bonus. You want it to give you instant kills also?
That is the point... I do NOT see the auras when I hook people. They are either hovering close by a person they are guarding that I hooked, behind a generator or in a locker... Now whom is being a dick? I never asked for instant kills, I am asking for a perk that shows auras to actually show the auras. That is all... LOL!
Seriously... I guess the devs listen to the 4 times more survivor cryers than a killers reasoning of a perk that no longer works as written with "brighter" gen auras and locker blindness... get it now?AND I QUOTE: After hooking a Survivor, all other Survivors' Auras are revealed to you for 4 seconds when they are farther than 40 metres from the Hook.
All except those hiding in lockers and behind existing bright auras... which means... this perk is "broken as written"... so fix the perk or fix the description. That is all I want.

With other people stating "hiding behind generators is intended"... then fine... fix the description from "ALL" to "everyone except survivors in lockers" which will help those that think people in lockers ARE revealed when they ARE NOT!

But let me tell you one thing: If you have problems with BBQ tracking now, try learn using Whispers. It's perk which much less counters and still works like it always used to. It's also the way veteran killer tracked before BBQ came out. The only thing you might look for is a good guide. I haven't learned or mastered it by myself. But it's quite reliable for tracking.
Question... Are you on console or PC? Is whispers directional? I will try it tonight as when I used it before, I thought it "whispered" in both ears to say someone was around and not actually directional but I seriously don't know and babeling. LOL!

At level 3, it is 32 meters distance... which in my mind is a long way and "large" search area just to know someone is around and hiding. Might help the locker situation while running Iron Maiden as I would be within 32 meters instead of on the other side of map with BBQ, but again, running two perks to counter one single action should not be intended, but who knows really.
I used whispers a bit but generally when I am trying to find someone, the "music" is playing (AKA after exit gates open and people are hiding around the hatch) or the game decides I actually am chasing someone but have not seen them yet and drowns out any crys/whispers anyway.
As a side note of which nobody even has mentioned... when I spirit walk, auras go away anyway... so BBQ actually is NOT a good fit for my favorite killer, but with the Whispers advice above... I will see what happens. Thanks @Freudentrauma

@Vietfox lol I think hes playing a different game to us. But Seriously @BlackViperCom You patrol the gens like a killer is suppose to and you will find survivors. There was a time when B&Q wasnt in the game and killers were getting 4k games. Plus killers were given a perk to counter people getting in lockers. Iron Maiden. You are getting stubborn with your perk and blaming the devs and game before adapting to the situation. Plus the surviviors will be getting complete blind status when they enter the lockers in a future update.I think everyone is playing a different game than me or just deranking to stay at 15 where needing help finding people is NOT an issue at all. Not sure if it is the case on PC's but I have literally heard survivor crys where no survivors are and the chase music completely overpowers any other audio. After exit gates open, using audio to find anyone hiding away to suck up more points via totems or hatch camping is impossible with the music playing. If I camp, I am abused and the game lasts way longer. In two story maps/buildings, the "survivors" sound exactly the same if they are on the same level or not. Maybe if the survivors had a red stain like I do and no ability to "crouch and hide" and could not talk to each other and report where I am or I had the tools to NOT need aura help finding peoples general direction, things would be different.
Also, yes... I have two P3-50 survivors and getting caught and camped/tunneled sucks... so... yeah, I get it... but when someone gets hooked, I also HIDE and not get caught... which is how one does not get camped so why are people complaining that I want to LEAVE the hook to freely rescue someone while that person gets points to do so and a better chance at getting out vice me camping the hook and pissing off at least two people... #########?
I phreaking hate ruin as a survivor but I now run it to slow the game down to even find one person while they run around looking for the totem. I use iron grasp because since Jeff hit the streets, everyone breaks hooks to get the trophies (adapting to the situation?) and I need extra time to get to another hook. I use deer stalker as I suck at remembering where someone went down if I get rushed by body guards. To counter people hiding in lockers, now I need Iron Maiden. To counter gen rushing, I need Discordance... That is 5 perks folks... without BBQ... So... yeah, with lots of possible "play styles", I run general perks to cast the widest net to have the best chance at not deranking as I am still trying to climb the ladder, but I cannot counter everything... which means lots of crap is broken to me (good players get away from me really easy, but I cannot do that as a survivor), but with brighter gen auras (thank you) and hidden auras in lockers, I feel BBQ is now broken. 100% BP bonus? Sure... IF and only if one actually hooks all 4 once in the game... it is not automatic. LOL!
If I camp, I get way less points as I am not cycling through people and they only get hooked once. It is best for everyone to "fix" or "buff" or whatever you want to call it, BBQ at this point so people use it instead of camping all the time.Right?!?
Anyway, thanks for the discussion!

As a PC player, I'm wondering why you look down when chasing a survivor, is there any reason for that?I just started doing this recently as for the most part, with the controller, survivors do a 180 and avoid getting hit (a lot).

Wow. Sarcastic headline created this? My bad.

No. You reek of entitlement. I'll just say I strongly disagree with this change. And if you can't see that tiny bit of their hand sticking out then you need to...Dev 3-78 with 95% achievements (including DLC with Plat on PS4) and I am entitled? Been playing for awhile. My bad as I am "already gud" LOL! :P
Well git gud. You're obviously not that good if you're complaining about BBQ not showing people behind gens. As a killer you should be able to find survivors without it. It's not a big deal. I've been playing since August 2017 on xbox and joined PC on August 2018 (strange coincidence) and I'm not much of an achievement earner. But I play the game for fun. Not to get achievements.
Look at the fun side of the game and play to have fun. If you're complaining about BBQ, then you clearly want to 4k like that game you shown every game don't you? My advice is, calm down, play for fun, stop attacking survivors.
So... let me get this straight... it is now the objective to magically find people throughout the entire map within 5 minutes before the gates open without some "idea" of where anyone is... and without camping and waiting for them to come to me... as the other "three" repair the gens with urban evasion and no scratch marks while they hang on the vine.
Sounds like survivor talk. No killer would say that is good times. Zero. LOL!

But, yeah, started August 2018 on PS4 and last month on XBOX.
And, sure, I am NOT "good" by any stretch of the imagination. I have made it to Rank 7 and working this season on making it higher as all the achievements that I can do are finished, but with sandbaggers with 3 body guards in the game, at rank 10 right now, I am in a tough spot and venting. LOL!

With an obviously SWF, I get stomped on and everyone gets out and usually only hook one person once as they pallet loop/etc while the other three pop gens very fast with great skill checks.
Just wanting a bone thrown at me is all.

Maybe I will just turn into a camper and screw it all. LOL! GG. See ya in game!

Dev 3-78? What’s that mean?
Devotion 3 level 78.

It’s the best perk in the game, get over yourself. Maybe have some intuition instead of having the game make your decisions for you.So I need to predict the future and be clairvoyant to play a game? I
your solution. Why didn't I think of that?!? Oh, I know... because it is ridiculous. LOL!
That’s not what I said. What I’m saying is the fact you KNOW people can hide behind gens and in lockers, but ALWAYS assume no aura means they’re near. You’re your own undoing
As I replied above, was not aware the gen blocking was intended and I can deal with that as I know where the gens are and can weed them out, but with lockers blocking it as well... seems kinda broken IMHO as a method to reduce camping and use the perk as intended to cycle through survivors.
Thanks for your reply! -

How do you "fix" a perk which is working as the devs intended it to work? It's more like you are asking for a straight buff.
I personally don't know what is worse, lockers or gens blocking aura. But I think one of them has to go, especially with the perk of Jeff. That's just my opinion. This is working as intended? Was not aware that the gens were supposta block the auras with BBQ. I can deal with gen blocking as I can just go to the gen and weed people out, locker blocking is impossible to combat IMHO without spending the entire game opening/closing.

You’re a dick for assuming all survivors are cheaters. That’s like assuming all black people are criminals. You’re a part of the problem with the division and lack of coorperation between the two sidesDid you even look at the video past 5:30? The rank 8 stayed on the rock up until 13:00 (after "pointing" to try to "make me leave for several minutes).
Just as I figured... this is "ok" behaviour and truly a toxic community. LOL!
-
Toxic for doing the objective? I should post my thousand screenshots of rank 2-4's exploiting the ranking system on PS4 every season with 3 rank 15-20's when I am between killer rank 8 to 13. Killers do not know if they are going against a rank exploiting groups that they "must" camp and tunnel to get absolutely any points... as the 3 "body guards" protect the high ranking person or if it is the 1 in 100 that is a "legit" group.
Ya know what the best solution that I can offer those survivors that do not like to be tunneled and camped?DON'T GET CAUGHT! LOL!!!

Survivors even whine about BBQ... yet that is THE skill to get my P3-50 Spirit moving off the hook... but guess what? Since the latest patch and "brighter" gens... with "smart" survivors hiding behind the gen to not get their aura seen... well, if you stop my method that I enjoy using for leaving the hook and getting some points by cycling through people (the whole damn point of the perk...) INSTEAD of camping... What should I do whiners? Just AFK and let you get out? Seriously people.
Get over yourself and learn to not get caught in the first place.
