Freddy better be on tomorrows roadmap

If not then all hope is lost and Freddy will remain in forgotten weak tier for another year. I don't have much hope sadly. Most underplayed, weakest (power) licensed killer by a mile.

Freddy is so bad right now I hardly think anyone would even care if his license got pulled.

Omg don't even put that out into the world I'd be so sad 😭

  • Freddy and Myers reworks both - and both got kinda acknowledged by the devs in the Reddit Q&As i think so even if not directly mentioned I would expect them to be featured in the next year in the midchapters

i still think the license being in DbD is important and Freddy still has fans - even when they acknowledge that the power is lacking..

I don't think Mikey needs as as big of a change as Freddy. In my opinion Freddy needs a rework from the ground up.

Whereas Michael just needs some buffs to his existing kit.

  • Careful what you wish for.

  • I want zblock back, thanks

People would care, because that would mean removing Badham. There would be celebrations in the streets.

  • Yeah I'm hoping Freddy and Myers are next on the list for improvements/reworks.

  • OH, Freddy needs help badly, but not before Myers. Not by a long shot

Freddy's pick rate is abysmally low. And for good reason. That's how bad of a state he's in. Whereas Michael is one of the top 10 most played killers. Michael needs buffs, but he's not remotely in as much of a bad spot as Freddy.

    Not by a long shot.

It is ironic but real that a major reworking or deletion of the Badam map would be more desired than a reworking of Freddy's.

I respectfully disagree. Freddy at least has a power to play with, while myers just kinda exists with a insta down that is kinda weak due to him heing the only killer in the game who can actually run out of his power mid game. Take away the tombstone peices and Myers pickrate will plummet.

This isnt even remotely up for debate. Freddy is in a much stronger position then Myers, so Myers should get help first.

People don't play killers primarily for strength. They play them for fun. If strength was the predominant deciding factor in killer popularity then the likes of Artist, Hag, Twins, Trickster etc wouldn't be sitting at the bottom end of the pick rates.

Michael is fun to play. You can do interesting things with him. He is versatile with builds and play styles. You have the jump scare builds with the mirror add ons. Vault master Myers. Tombstone Myers. Scream for Myers etc. It's never boring playing him.

Freddy on the other hand has nothing going for him. Not only is his power weak, it's boring as hell. His add ons suck. There's nothing interesting you can do with him. Oh he can teleport to incompleted gens. Why would anyone pick him when there's many other vastly superior teleporting killers. He can put down blood pools. They suck and are out classed by multiple other anti loop killers. Give me a reason why anyone would choose to play Freddy other than they manage to somehow derive enjoyment from him. But most people don't. That's why barely anyone plays him.

He doesn't even feel like Freddy Krueger. Michael may need buffs but his power captures the feel of his character. You can even do builds that reflect the different flavours of Myers from the various Halloween movies. You can go perma tier 3 with a pallet eating build for the aggressive kind of Myers like in Halloween 2018 or Kills. You can do they sly stalk and surprise attack Michael like in the original or H20 with the mirror builds etc. There's multiple YouTube series out there of people doing stuff like that with him. Especially with the jump scare builds.

Sadly Freddy doesn't have anything like that. Numbers talk. Many strong killers are not even scraping the top 20 let alone the top 10 when it comes to pick rates. But Michael is. Has been since 2016. That's staying power. Not because of one add on. But because he's fun. If people are not having fun with a killer then they're not going to play them regardless of how strong they are. That's why several strong killers don't get played much.

And you're trying to tell me it's not up for debate. Consider yourself debated 😉

Are you think a Forever Freddy problem can appear again ?

No, I'm thinking he will be changed for the worse. Maybe at the start he will be better, but then ruined the following patches.

  • I don’t care how weak he was considered but OG Freddy was a friggen blast. I legitimately miss playing his dream pull version and always will.

  • If BHVR wants some ideas for Freddy, then here:

    Hello, Freddy mains!
This is my attempt to buff Freddy to make him more fun, powerful and interesting. I'd like to hear your thoughts on this, so feel free to comment.

    • Freddy is invisible to everyone who's awake, and his terror radius is replaced by his lullaby for the awake survivors.
    • When coming close to a Survivor, he can pull them into the Dream World. They can intermittedly see him during this process.

    When in the Dream World:
    • Survivors suffer from a 20% action speed penalty.
    • Can see Freddy.
    • Can hear Freddy's terror radius.
    • Can see and be affected by Dream Traps.
    • Can see the Dream Projection happening.

    Freddy's abilities:
    • Dream Projection - Now works with finished gens as well.
    • Dream Hooks - 6 random hooks change into Dream Hooks at the start of the trial. Unlike normal hooks, only Freddy and asleep survivors can see and interact with them and the survivors hooked on them.
    • Dream Snares
    • Dream Props
    - This includes Dream Pallets, Totems, Chests and Breakable doors. These act all in a similar way, they can be put in spots where they could spawn naturally, and interacting with them makes them dissolve into blood and alert Freddy, with the exception of Breakable doors, which Freddy can walk through, making them dissolve and survivors can't walk through.
    • He can create up to 25 Snares/Props

    Ways to wake up:
    • Getting woken up by an awake survivor.
    • Waking up with a Medicine Cabinet.
    • Getting hooked on a normal hook.

    Medicine Cabinets:
    • Replacement for Alarm Clocks
    • Survivors can interact with them while awake or asleep, with the interaction changing depending on their state.
    • When awake, interacting with these will put survivors to sleep. When asleep, interacting with these will wake you up and make you unable to fall asleep for 20 seconds.

    Add-on changes:

    Red Paint Brush:
    • All survivors start the trial asleep.
    • Unlocks the Dream Snares - a rectangular puddle that is 2 m wide and 8 m long
    • Reduces the amount of maximum tokens to 15

    Black Box:
    • Asleep survivors are unable to escape through the Exit gates.
    • Increases the amount of Medicine Cabinets by 2

    Pill Bottle:
    • Replaces Fake Chests with fake Medicine Cabinets
    • When spawning a Fake Totem, it will look like a lit Hex Totem.

    Class Photo:
    • Suppresses the appearance of the Husk
    • During the Dream Projection, all generators spew blood. (removed downside)

    "Z" Block:
    • Survivors interacting with a Medicine Cabinets become Deafened until hit.

    Swing Chains:
    • Increases the amount of Dream Hooks by 3

    Unicorn Block:
    • Survivors become Oblivious for 45 seconds  when triggering a Dream Trap. (The timer doesn't reset when triggering a trap while already affected by this add-on)

    Nancy's Masterpiece:
    • Reduces the cooldown of Dream Projection by 4% for each asleep survivor, up to a maximum of 16%

    Jump Rope:
    • Decreases the time needed for a survivor to fall asleep by 2 seconds.

    Blue Dress:
    • Increases the amount of power tokens by 4

    Paint Thinner:
    • When triggering a Dream Prop, survivors scream and reveal their location for 3 seconds.

    Cat Block:
    • Survivors become Exhausted for 30 seconds when interacting with a Medicine Cabinet

    Nancy's Sketch:
    • Reduces the cooldown of Dream Projection by 3% for each asleep survivor, up to a maximum of 12%

    Outdoor Rope:
    • Increases the audible range of repair noises by 8 meters. (Removed condition)

    Green Dress:
    • Increases the amount of power tokens by 3

    Prototype Claws:
    • While asleep, survivors have 20% higher chance to trigger a skill check while repairing or healing.
    • Skill check success zones are reduced by 33%

    Sheep Block:
    • Survivors become Blind for 60 seconds when triggering a Dream Trap (Same condition as the Unicorn Block)

    Wool Shirt:
    • Increases the amount of power tokens by 2

    Garden Rake:
    • The Nightmare is completely invisible to survivors during Dream Transition

    Kid's Drawing:
    • Reduces the amount of power tokens by 10
    • Gives a 100% bloodpoint bonus in the Sacrifice category.

There's a lot of them there, so I think that there are at least 2 or 3 that could work.

  • Pleeeeeease he needs this more than anyone. He's the only licensed character you can truly say is in shambles design wise. Nemesis is at least imposing with how he can eat through pallets, Freddy has nothing.

  • Yes, Freddy is by far the worst killer I have ever seen. And I cannot see a glimpse of hope, too.
