Thoughts on decisive strike being 5 seconds again

I find it still a usable perk as it is but certain killers you just can't escape from.

Decisive strike always used to be 3 seconds. It was only changed to 5 seconds back when enduring worked on it. Instead of making it so enduring didn't work on it, they made it 5 seconds. Then later, they made it so enduring didn't work on it, but never changed decisive strike back to 3 seconds.

Back then, though, Decisive Strike hadn't been trimmed down as it has now, as it didn't have the conspic action nerf yet.

  • even 5 seconds has not been a problem tbh.

I think it just needs a rework. The suggestion I have, is as long as you have an item in your hands with charges, you can use it. It consumes the item (it breaks when you hit them with it) and you get to run away. Can only do it once a match, and disables during EGC.

It gives value to Franklin's Demise and other item perks, like Overwhelming presence. Will make a killer think twice before going for a crucial hook. Also, simply holding an item would be a deterrent. Fairly good idea in my book.

You want to make Franklin's even stronger? lol

The correct way to play against ds is to eat it and tunnel the survivor. Unless you are playing a bottom tier killer. Avoiding it makes no sense whatsever. Specially after the patch <3

Which is why we are advocating for it to be buffed where eating the stun becomes much more powerful and yet there is still valid counterplay, yes. You'll get there eventually.

I used to it eat when it was 5 seconds too. Why would you advocate for it too be so strong that the killer feels more at ease leaving the person on the ground in favour of triggering it. That would be insanely boring for both the killer and survivor. That was never the intend for ds. It was a weird side effect.

Just get the stun and go to a new loop if you can, thats what the perk does. Its insane how much you guys hate playing the game even when playing the game lol.

  • 5 seconds stun is too much since survivors use it aggressively. the change id make is have it able to used twice

people calling 3 second ds are either bad or lying to get it buffed to what it was before - the 3 seconds is enough to make it to a loop, instead of enough to make it to the other side of the universe like it was. use the stun to make it to a pallet or generic tile, near 100% of the time the stun duration is enough for me

ofc it doesnt work with nurse but nothing works with nurse which is why im pretty sure behind the scenes theyve got a whiteboard of ways to completely destroy nurse and all she cares for.

Make the stun 5 seconds. ######### it, make it 10. Actually punish tunneling, especially since Endurance stacking never left PTB and tunneling is easier than ever.

Now that it deactivates in end-game and any conspicuous actions, make it active upon both hook states, too. If someone wants to tunnel a survivor, then they can eat both stuns.

Damn, bro! I am all for limiting tunneling and curb the current tunnel pandeming, but you scare me! Like a dude on mission! Maybe meet in the middle, somewhere?

Because then it will actually give people a reason to stop tunneling. Which is the point of an anti-tunnel perk.

I haven't eaten a DS stun in years. It wouldn't be a problem because you can easily ignore the survivor or slug them. They can't even combine OTR and then force a locker DS because Deep Wounds will cause them to bleed out, so it won't have that great of a synergy with the other anti-tunnel perk unless you are genuinely being tunneled.

Or unless you are using it offensively? I'm not just going to leave the survivor on the ground after they body block with otr when im carrying another survivor to a hook or when im chasing another survivor. That person will obviously get tunneled. Making the stun 10 seconds or something insane like that just incentivizes offensive plays like these.

  • Sorry guys, the killer mains that are definitely playing against bully squads 9/10 matches say a 5 second stun is too much. You'll have to settle for your 3 second stun (actually 2 seconds) and hope it's enough time to sprint across dead zones the size of football stadiums to reach an unsafe pallet, at which point they will definitely stop tunneling you. Assuming it's not a Nurse and they didn't just charge a blink for 0.5 seconds and immediately down you again before you could even break line of sight.

Funnily enough, I ate two DS today, back to back.

The game was Myers on new Haddonfield, the survivors played like they wanted to bully me, but couldn't really get it to work, messed up all their flashlight saves, tried to blind me while I was walking towards them etc and soon two were dead. The two remaining survivors were pretty good and probably a 2 man SWF duo, a Feng and a Leon.

Eventually I downed both of them with Leon on the hook. I looked down on that Feng and contempleted giving her the hatch, because she gave me a good chase, so I picked her up, got DS stunned, palette slammed and she slid over the palette away and unhooked Leon. That moment my well-being evaporated and I downed both of them, again. Hooked the Feng, picked up the Leon .. and got DS stunned, this time there was no palette around, but he managed to unhook the Feng.

In the end both got hooked and they salted me royaly in the post game chat for being tunnel and camping trash. When I mentioned that I intented to gift Feng the hatch, but that whombo combo tilted me a bit, they responded "oh yes, the classical survivors must not fight back and using DS is evil." Well, I guess its all a matter of perspective. They hadn't to use their DS while the other survivors were still alive, so I guess I wasn't THAT much of tunnel trash. I get that their situation was pretty frustrating from their POV: they played a good game, survived till the end, then couldn't even get away after stunning the killer multiple times. But in this case a single one could have gotten away, it was their altruistic nature to try to get their buddy out that eventually made them use up their DS in pointless unhookings.

  • Those killers that you "can't" escape from probably wouldn't be deterred by a 5 second DS either, so try again.

You have the option to slug them and you ignore this option to tunnel. If the threat of the stun made you afraid to do so then the perk would be working substantially better than now.

  • DS should obviously be at 5 second again. And the anti-tunnel capacity of the Perk should be increased as well. Currently, the only Anti-Tunnel Perks around are based on Endurance, so once hit, they are all gone. 80 seconds OTR dont matter if you get hit 3 seconds after Unhook. (During this time you have the measly 5 seconds of Base Endurance).

Obviously stacking Endurance was not a good thing, but they should add more Anti-Tunnel options which are not based on Endurance. Because currently, tunneling is way too beneficial and way too easy to do.

But we all know that DS just got nerfed to 3 seconds to remove the Perk from the Survivor Builds to "shake up the Meta".

  • I agree that the DS stun should be 5 seconds. Some people argue that 5 seconds of a stun isn't enough for M1 killers like Trapper to catch up to the survivor who stunned them... well WHY did you get stunned in the first place, M1 killer Trapper? Were you tunneling perhaps??

Have you played survivor against a nurse, blight, deaths linger ,huntress, trickster, demo even a bubba...

  • Hey, think of it as I want to make the broken key even stronger lol.

  • Hey guys, listen. We shouldn't even be talking 5 second stun or not, because the fact is is that OTR outshines DS in every way. That's why we need to maybe stop thinking of DS in its current iteration, and start thinking about it in another because it could be something other than a anti-tunnel perk. That's why I suggest the item-in-hand only prerequisite. Now it can be a second chance off shoulder perk, giving you a chance at hopping a window, dropping a pallet after coming up short at a loop.

yes, apart from nurse i win most of my games. survivor isnt hard. ds works against all of those killers, and gives you the time to make it to a pallet or generic tile pretty much every time. dunno what youre on about

    It should be 5 seconds.

Having it not work once the gates are powered was the perfect change by itself.

Overall it benefits more survivors as now they don't try stupid saves at endgame so often and just take the 3 man escape. Before it was easy to snowball and get 4K at endgame but now they just leave.
