The upcoming Nurse-Nerf

  • Nurse Addons adjustments

  • Kavanaghs Last Breath - increased the blink duration by 30%
  • Heavy Panting - increased the blink duration by 20%

  • this keeps the speed the Nurse blinks at, a consistent speed with or without addons

Yes. And the increased blink speed made her sustained map traversal speed better, which was a very good quality of life for Nurse patrolling large maps outside of chases.

Her map traversal is still good as 13.33m/s is still faster than majority of the rooster outside of Freddy tp or Sadako tp.

Your issue is literally a skill issue.

  • Big maps need their size nerfed. Then range add-ons should be reworked into a different effect during said map rebalancing.

Also Torn Bookmark should be reworked again. Ideally, making her achievement not require 3 blinks so TB can be changed into something that isn't +1 blink. 3 blinks is just bad design fundamentally.

Other than that, everything else is perfectly balanced.

The big issue survivors complained about was the shorter blinks. But it is a noticeable nerf to her sustained map traversal speed, because it will take her longer to charge the max blinks.

”We” also haven’t been dancing around this. If you don’t think it will affect how you play, then that’s good for you, but I certainly will not be patrolling the map as much anymore, and I will feel zero pity for survivors for my increased proxy camping.

It only takes a second or two more to travel, at max range mind you*. You'll see, its really not a big deal for traversal (what these addons should always have been about)

*) nothing else has been changed

Nope. I don’t care about your shaming or the survivor handbook. I play to win. I don’t play to fit into your idea of what a “good killer” is.

What I meant was that a nurse who, after the update, can no longer use the range addons, and feels obliged to camp ... well, that's a very, very low level nurse, plain and simple 😁

I don't think you're understanding how the change worked. But ok.

The charge time is exactly the same. It's just the difference in how fast she blinks. The important part has ALWAYS been the distance you get. The difference isnt going to be that noticeable when traversing. Just chasing survivors. It's ok there. I believe you'll get better at nurse ❤️

Are you claiming that Nurse’s sustained map traversal speed will be the same? Because that is the very specific thing I am referring to. I care about how long it would take her to blink across a large map, using max ranged blinks.

That’s not what sustained map traversal speed is. Sustained map traversal speed is the speed Nurse travel at, for very long distances, which involves multiple cycles of blinking, then going into fatigue, then recharging tokens.

I've been saying that about range. I don't even think they need to be changed entirely. Just reduce the maps. Then reduce the add ons. Maybe to 3 % and 2 %. For a stackable bonus up to 5 % extra traversal.

In my opinion, there are a large number of maps that are too big, and a handful that are too small (Midwich/Gideon/etc), and they should all be readjusted to more moderate sizes (along with any other tile or balance issues such as endless god pallets on Gideon but no decent windows at all).

Whether the nurse is tp on 5m, 10m, 20m, 30m, whether she uses range addons, recharge addons, or addons allowing her to prepare a raspberry clafoutis... her tp speed will be the same 🤗

If you’re actually curious, on average across large distances, it’s about the same as a 115 walking. She does burst and fatigue/charge while the 115 does nonstop steady walk.

Yes. And it will always be a slower sustained map traversal speed than it is currently.

BHVR should have just changed the blink durations for blinks shorter than 20 meters, and kept the current max blink duration so that it didn’t mess up her sustained map traversal speed.

Nurse is a strong chase killer. She does not need better map traversal than what she has available to her after the range addon changes.

    • This would be inconsistent with other killers that have powers that are movement (with the exception of blight) should Wraith, onroyo, clown, and various others also count as special attacks when they use their power?
    • This already happens actually, it's just extremely hard to time.
    • This doesn't do what you think it does, fatigue duration is longer than pallet stun, as a nurse main i prefer if i get pallet stunned when it bugs out sometimes because i don't get my camera sent downward and can stay looking at the survivor and be stunned for less time.

I'm not suggesting making all her blink attacks special just the ones on the 2nd blink or later.

Excepting Blight you cannot use Wraith, Onryo, or Clown as examples to defend Nurse having all her blink attacks count as basic attacks. You are comparing the strongest killer in the game to 3 of its weakest. Those killers aren't even B tier. Also if a Clown hits a survivor with a bottle it does count as a special attack, even though it does nothing without Pinky Finger.

As for falling pallets interrupting blinks, how does it already happen? The only case I know of is if the Nurse blinks into where the pallet can be dropped and the survivor drops the pallet once she has actually completed her blink. It's about 50/50 whether or not the survivor gets away without getting hit, the window of opportunity is narrow. I think if falling pallets actually intercepted a Nurse mid-blink then she wouldn't be able to practically ignore pallets as she does now. If a survivor was camping a pallet she could still get the hit by blinking to one side of the pallet and dodging the stun zone.

It does exactly what I think it does. I don't think it would be a net buff or nerf to Nurse really. Sometimes she would be stunned for longer, like in cases where a survivor waits almost until the fatigue is over, and sometimes she would have her fatigue cut short, like if she used 3 blinks and was running Enduring. It would give her reason to run Enduring and it could be fun. Any camera bugs should hopefully be fixed.

Why am I trying to argue with a Nurse main? It doesn't matter what I say, you just don't want your precious main nerfed in any capacity.

Why are you arguing if you refuse to consider it an actual discussion and preemptively dismiss them for being a "Nurse main" as if that invalidates anything?

Also, every single Exposed perk has counterplay built into the perk itself. Nurse blinks have counterplay built into it itself. You have both sources for counterplaying Exposed blink hits.

Its not bug, its how the code works.

She doesnt have blink speed, but a blink always takes 2sec. So by default or with addon, 30m or 40m, it will always take 2sec, explaining the speed increased.

This happens to Spirit's addon, where longer phase addon also has fast recharge.

She phases for 5sec, recharge 15sec. Normally if she phase for 3sec, she needs 9sec recharging

    • With fast recharge (lets say x2 faster), she needs 4.5sec recharging
    • With longer phase (lets say she can phase 10sec), means if you phase 3sec, you only use 30% of power. Means you needs 4.5sec recharging

It was a bug. A bug the Devs didn't want to admit to until now, (because they caused it fixing another bug). The addon pass was 2 years ago and the distance addons will work the way it did then after this patch.

I do not agree. Bad nurses do not rely on distance addons. Those aren't the addosn that help bad nurses. The bad addons help bad nurses.

Like the flanel and the addon that make the nurse fast after a hit but removes the ability to blink, allowing her to down with 1 blink and 1 chase instead of 2 blinks.

-"Bad nurses do not rely on distance addons"

They most certainly do. There are a lot of people playing nurse that would be hopeless when you take away best in slot addons. I used to love playing against nurse when I had spirnt, IW and spinechill all working together. When Omega blink changed it lowered the skill floor because blinking was a joke with Omega Blink.

Now that you can't use SC anymore to help in chases and you must choose exhaustion or IW - Nurse is a lot stronger.

  • Starting to think that the requests for nurse nerfs won’t stop until she’s loopable.

so, when nurse is gutted, likely followed by blight and spirit, how long until survivors find a new killer to say is “unfun” and “boring”?

  • It's good as it does reduce the effectiveness of her most complained-of add-ons by at least giving survivors a better chance at avoiding her. She should still be a real challenge to face and will feel like it's a bit fairer of a challenge.

  • Nurse should still have her double pallet stun change reverted.

If a mad lad stuns a Nurse they deserve it

calling a "NERF" for just the broken addons getting a tonedown , doesnt change the actual basekit of the killer.

(same strenghts but no longer abusable by people that rely on those addons)

Regardless of how you want to view it. The addon changes are a nerf as bhvr said the addon speeding up the blinks was intended.

  • Nurse can still abuse exposed builds so not nerfed enough imo.

  • Maybe one day people will stop calling using stuff intended to be used as "abuse".

Here is a video of Hens stomping very good survivors with near perfect play on nurse with no addons or perks.

Is it really fair to use people who play the game for a living as an example? 99% of nurses are not that good.

  • The biggest tragedy about nurse is all these nurse mains in here thinking they deserve the constant stream of 4k's simply choosing and playing nurse with her broken mechanics allows.

But hey, let them tell themselves this lopsided balance is okay because it takes a couple extra seconds to traverse a map or two, or they have to sweat in the one in one thousand games they get a 4-man super sweat squad (most of those SWF players have enough sense not to queue together because of how broken SWF with comms is). Yet nurse players play every match in broken matchups like their lives depend on it.

4k'ing with nurse isn't impressive when she is broken OP. Why don’t they understand that? It's just common sense/sportsmanship. I don't queue with my friends at top MMR because it would be super boring winning every game in an imbalanced matchup. Yet Nurses do that every time they queue up. It is so insincere to come here and say nurse is fine.

The video from earlier in this thread of a just average Red rank nurse player with no perks/no addons, not camping and not tunnelling dominating 4 average red-rank survivors should tell you all you need to know against nurse. The only reason they almost did all the gens was because they were SWF, another broken mechanic.
