So much crying

Sick of seeing all the people crying over a crutch perk being nerfed and saying there quitting. Honestly if your going to quit a game bc they change a perk then maybe its good your leaving bc this game doesnt need such entitled players and before all you killer mains get your panties in a bunch you should know i play both sides equally, survivors didnt quit playing after balanced was nerfed or when self care was nerfed to the ground. Quit your crying and adapt

There is no getting good against a swf Gen rush team that can get all of the gens done in just a few short minutes. Killers NEED Gen slowdown against good players.

Right so punish a majority of players bc killers are suppose to win every game right?

it sounds like you just want to be spoon fed when you play killer

The same goes for killers not getting good, depending on one perk is not skill and it shows with how many people complain rather than just get good.

so suvivors just need to get good and hit skillchecks, then maybe killers need to get good and not depend on a perk to carry them and actually apply pressure instead of having tunnel vision

With gens being able to go so fast, ruin was more like a crutch for someone who broke both of their legs.

When survivors complained about being camped, and tunneled the entire killer community said: do gen, just do gens, git gud at gens, learn to hit great skill checks. Just because your meme of an answer actually worked doesn't mean you get to complain about someone taking your direct advice to heart.

Well in the games i play its not like that, poeple dc if its the plague or a billy

not defending dcing either i think people should be heavily punished for it and even killers to, idk what platform you play on but im on ps4 and there is no dedicated servers so the killer is at advantage most of the time bc they are the host

If thats what you want to think then thats fine, knowone is leaving the game bc of a perk change and if so then bye nobody wants your salty ass in this game anyways

  • I just think they shouldn't address it by changing ruin to a perk where you have to focus on gens while it ignores that you get one survivor off the other three will just get on another one and if you don't want that to happen you'll have to camp all the gens and doing so on a big map with a low mobility killer is hard the game isn't a 1v1 it's 4 survivors vs 1 killer, the killer has to juggle between those 4 survivors.

Im aware of that and im not defending the change, my point was all the people who are complaining and saying they are quitting dbd bc of it.

I where your coming at but the devs have been hacking at killers for awhile, while survivors have minimal changes.

And unfortunately its going to stay that way bc people are just toxic on both sides and just want to bash and upset the other side.

these forums are a perfect example of why this game cant be balanced, bc there are way to many one sides players who dont play the other side to see the problems.

both sides have issues and are not balanced,

the problem with this community is that they feel that there suppose to win every game they play and if they dont then the game isnt balanced and that just creates this toxic community as we know it

  • I play both sides pretty equally. I've never used Ruin on any killer build because I always saw it get cleansed too early, and then it's useless. And yeah, I've lost a lot of games to gen rushing. But I've had games where I've done great with other perks and have gotten 4k's early on without camping.

On the flip side, Ruin as survivor can be annoying. We all know that. But most of the time, one (or more) of the other 3 people will be looking for it, so I've learned to settle in at a gen and try to hit skill checks. And I'm getting better, so I'm pretty happy.

I don't know if the current rework is the best answer, but until it is fully released, there is no sense in freaking out.

Adapt to what? A perk that literally had no change since it came out? What exactly is there to adapt to if it was never changed?

Exactly my point, everyone just wants to jump the gun and throw so much hate to the devs rather than testing it out, hex perks have never been reliable and to depend on that perk just means there limiting themselves to becoming a better player at the game.

and im the same as you when i play survivor and killer, ruin never really effected me that much and the totem would just get cleansed in the first 1-3 mins of the game. So again i dont know why people make such a big deal about the biggest crutch perk on killers side

Ds is meant to help survivors against tunneling toxic killers and it does its job, not to mention it can easily be countered.

as for BT i think that it could use a cooldown or something bc it can be annoying as killer when survivors go for an immediate save

Oh I know about DS's strength. I always run it in red ranks due to the constant tunnelling there.

BT imo is fine. You can literally just go after the unhooker, it's meant to give the weaker survivor a chance

Yea but there are just some games you wont win, the game requires skill and if all 4 survivors are really good then its going to be hell for the killer.

the same thing can be said with a really good killer and decent survivors or bad, they just get smacked around and bullied bc of them not being looping gods or having good map awareness.

But taking away tools to help killers win against the better survivors isn't what should be happening they need to seperate them I had a full rank 2 team go against me as ghostface with ruin on badham and they got three gens done but they couldn't do really well on skill checks I saw them failing them and bad survivors should be given the chance to get better by learning against bad killers, I'm not saying you will win every game I'm saying you should at least have a chance even with ruin I have lost but !let of the time it's because it was destroyed fast and that happens I dealt with it survivors should deal with the skill checks and or finding the totem

I agree that changing ruin isnt the permanent fix.

ranking in this game is horrible and needs a complete overhaul bc it does not represent skill, i have played with and against rank 1s who belong at rank 15 and the same with rank 10s that belong at rank 1.

if they made an actual system that represented skill then that would fix alot of the problems but i just dont see them doing that

You say that to me but you don't say that to the survivors that say it's "frustrating" to go up against ruin and doctor and losing ruin is not bad on some maps but on red forest losing ruin is like losing your arms while you have no legs

  • To be fair to the devs and to the game, maybe we should wait until data is available to make any firm judgments about the Ruin change.

A DbD streamer I watch often - he is well known, very smart, and an excellent player - did a review of the announcement and was convinced that the Ruin change would be such a detrimental blow to the game that the survival of the game itself would be at risk. Then I watched this same streamer and others play the PTB. All of them performed about as well as they usually do. It's just not possible to make definitive statements yet.

Not to mention that a final verdict should come after people have had the chance to experiment with new builds. Right now the obvious ideas are the ones being debated and tested, but the dynamics of the game are complicated enough that new possibilities haven't even been imagined yet.

There were several good reasons to change Ruin. There are also potential drawbacks. Let's try it out and see how it goes.

The time for being rational and using good arguments to get through to the developers is long past. This is not a method that works in the slightest, as has been proven by their out of touch approach to the game.

You probably haven't considered this, but maybe people are leaving because this change, and the entire patch, confirms that the devs have absolutely no concern for how the game is to play as one of the two sides? The dev notes are entirely focused on the survivor experience, the part that tries to speak to killer experience misses the mark entirely, and the change that should be focused around making the gameplay experience better for killers (doc changes) focuses around survivor experience.

People aren't leaving "because" a perk nerf, people are leaving because as paying customers they are not being considered when changes are made to the user experience. Playing killer is a stressful experience where you're putting in more effort than the enemy team, and still relying on them to make mistakes for you to be able to do anything, unless you play one of the top tier killers that are constantly under threat of being nerfed either into being just worse or being less enjoyable to play. The devs clearly don't care for the player experience and are just hunting for a revolving door of new players to fleece with cosmetics or with the battlepass, who will drop off as soon as they gain any level of competence with the game because there's either no challenge on the survivor side, or the game is a slog on the killer side.
