Why is Legion getting nerfed when he is already the weakest killer in the game?

Seriously, the community has been begging for him too be buffed for so long, then you just go and nerf him for no reason. he needs buffs too make him good, not nerfs too make him even worse then Leatherface. Nerfing him makes literally no sense because he was already one of the weakest killers in the game, he isn't op, or even un counterable.

The community has been begging for Legion buffs for months now, there is no reason too kick him when he's already down. Please remove the changes too Legion and give him a buff too make him actually viable in red ranks.

It was a QoL change to maintain consistency (basic attacks being BASIC ATTACKS and not the killer's power), don't think they sought to gut Legion specifically.

Consistency is boring. Why have a different killers if they are all the same

Wow goodbye STBFL, it wasn't even that strong you lose a lot of tokens when hiting the obsession and you don't really cut a very significant distance but anyway the devs do it again.. *omega facepalm*

Is there a killer that can benefit from this mid tier perk anymore? because i think legion was the last one.

Demogorgon, Pig, Trapper all greatly benefit from STBFL (since they can catch the obsession without losing tokens).

But any killer can if you play them right. Legion used to take great advantage of it because of the extra tokens when stabbing in frenzy... but that's gone now.

  • The problem I have is with Nemesis and Beast of Pray — they basically revert Legion's counterplay and bring back Hold W2 win tactics. This isn't fun™ nor creative at all, it just makes him able to cheese survivors while they have no counterplay.

Here's what I'd do to make him viable while removing the cheese strategy:

    • Both the survivor and the killer cannot see the Deep Wound timer, just the Deep Wound bar to indicate someone is in Deep Wounds.
    • Survivor's Deep Wound timer will pause when within a 16 meter range to the killer.
    • Revert mending time back to 16 seconds.

Basically, the timer is not tied to the TR anymore but to a set distance to the killer. Since the survivor nor the killer cannot see the Deep Wound timer decrease, they cannot use the timer for tracking each other. 🤗😁

Personally, that really wouldn't make him viable, since his biggest problem is that his power still sucks badly. I think he needs a complete rework from the ground up, new power and all. No matter how they buff/nerf him, he's either going too be really cheesy and unfun too fight as survivor, or really weak and unfun too play as for killers.

  • Consistency is actually a bad word to use here.

"Why'd a poisonous knife suddenly stop being poisonous just vecause you're holding it differently?"

Myers, GF, Pig, Nurse, wraith, Legion, Spirit, Hag, Demoman all use their basic weapon for their ability-attacks. So it'd be consistent to count it as basic attack.

It would a little bit because survivors will have to mend more often since they don't know when their timer will expire.

Therefore, that means less survivors working on generators while in Deep Wounds and etc. — Unless they want to take a risk. 😁

  • @RIP_Legion

The most confusing thing about that statement are the persons actually upvoting this. He is the same person that explained the 4.6ms addon for nurse as great mindgame potential while they removed the complete mindgame of the killer. xD

The fact that they bring back old legion with this is just mindblowing, the very reason why he is in the state where he is right now. Give it a few weeks and people gonna complain about it so they have to change it up again.

    @Monlyth

I find your legion build questionable at best, you basicly have just 2 perks. Ruin will be disposed of quite quick and thana is a bad perk overall.

  • To make them fun™.

  • I honestly thought the "Legion is the weakest killer" phrase was a meme until these posts started turning up more. Legion is pretty strong for a killer who is designed to injure as many Survivors as they possibly can. Given the right add-ons and perks, they're pretty powerful. I can never say I've not lost once as them before, but I will say that I have ended games quickly using them. These nerfs though are kinda whack. On the bright side, now you can dodge a STBFL stack loss with Frenzy.

  • @Endstille I really can't take you seriously if you're going to call Ruin a bad perk.

Buddy, even in the highest ranks, no other perk will buy you as much time as Ruin. If the survivors are gen tapping, then it's going to take MUCH longer for the gens to finish, to the point where you're better off just powering through the skill checks. If the survivors are hunting for your totem, then they're not touching the generators. And I can't tell you how many free hits I've gotten because the Ruin totem draws survivors to it like moths to a flame.

The best players in the world use Ruin in virtually every build. To me, nothing indicates a lack of game knowledge more than believing that Ruin is a bad perk.

Well, even the best players don't hit the Great skill check every single time, and having the gen timer pause and regress is a very significant loss of time. And even if you're up against survivors who are botting and hit a Great skill check every single time, you're still preventing 2% progress for every skillcheck they land, which adds up fast over the course of a game.

Players like Otzdarva and Tru3tal3nt run Ruin anytime they decide to play seriously. It's considered the best perk in the game, because it IS the best perk in the game.

  • Oh wow yes I just now realise what that means that his Feral Frenzy attacks don't count as normal attacks. No STBFL, no Sloppy Butcher. That's something you really can't understand.

  • Blows my mind people will call ruin bad because they get a lousy spawn every now and then. For every game it dies within 10 seconds, I have other games where it lasts the entire game. I have tried ever perk under the sun and nothing compares to ruin.

  • Cause BT didn't need a buff and Legion didn't need a nerf.

But they wanted to throw a bone at the legion players, so they decided to make some changes.

The changes to his adons seemed a bit too strong (as if that is possible), so instead fixing the add-ons, they decided to nerf mending... Buffing the aLmOsT nEvEr used BT.

    Do you understand now?

    Neither do I.

I did that where? In Red Ranks ruin doesn't last a long time yes it does buy you time but it will not last 5minutes. Where is that incorrect? Good that you do not argue about the garbage that thana is.

But here's why this angers me the most, they aren't gonna do a thing to Legion for months after this, we're gonna be stuck with this PoS for months.

Ruin isn't bad, but it's simply too situational. it'll either last the whole match and bring the game too a halt, or it'll be useless because Survivors spawn on it, they know how too hit skillchecks, they find it first try, etc.

A better early game perk personally is Corrupt Intervention, it does what Ruin does, but it can't be broken in 10 seconds and survivors have too waste time looking for a non blocked gen, and it can give killers good early starts.

The problem with Corrupt Intervention is that it only makes it easier to find your first survivor, and doesn't actually do much to slow down gen speeds. You can only chase one survivor at a time, and the rest of the survivors will still be able to work on the gens normally while you chase a survivor.

The strength of Ruin is that you don't need to do anything to activate it or take advantage of its effect, it slows down gen repairs for all of the survivors at once regardless of their distance from you (And regardless of how good they are at skill checks), it forces them to waste time looking for and cleansing the totem, and it gives you an easy way to flush out the survivors by periodically patrolling your Ruin totem.

Frankly, calling the best perk in the game "situational" is laughable. There is never a situation where Ruin isn't useful.

And it allowed you to make a beeline towards the survivor that cleansed it, instead of randomly guessing which generators the survivors might be working on during the ever-important early game.

Getting a notification takes the guesswork out of which generators to patrol. You just learned the general area where the survivors are. Normally, when the game has just started, you don't know that. You can only guess, and if you guess wrong, it can often cost you a gen.

BBQ & Chili is the most-used perk because it's a useful perk that gets you bloodpoints. Streamers will always use Ruin if they're going full tryhard, but they won't always use BBQ because they often already have all the bloodpoints they need.

Well, anyone can be successful, with or without ruin. It's not mandatory against anything but the most well-coordinated, full-tryhard, Rank 1 SWF groups. It's just a matter of good perks vs. better perks.

4 sec cooldown and you lose power from just a basic attack, yes I agree

  • Why they nerf legion when he is one of the weakest killer in the game. I mean we did millions of threads explaining what should be buff and changed.

His speed have a revert but not totally because he move at 5,2 m/s and old legion was moving at 5,28 m/s. His vault speed have been revert though that is a good thing too. Now there is still two things they need to fix if they want to put them at mid-tier.

    • Remove the basic attack penalty.(gauge depletion on m1 attacks.)
    • Reduce his fatigue to 3s from 4s.

He make no sense for them to punish his power because legion can't kill with his power anymore. (except with frank's mix tape) but we are not gonna lie 80s to down someone with the power is a joke.

  • Hey maybe we ask for nerfs on bubba/clown/doctor and see if they go through with it? Just for the lulz

Mate it takes 8 seconds too do a totem, that is literally nothing. And just because you know where Ruin was broken doesn't mean you are going too find that survivor. It isn't the best perk in the game by a long shot, it is strong but not the best. It has too many downsides for an upside that is pretty much luck based.

Plus, just because top streamers and players always run it doesn't mean they want too run it. Tru3 constantly complains about how bs the RNG of Ruin is when it comes too spawning, and no one enjoys bringing a totem perk for it too be broken in 10 seconds and you pretty much wasted a perk slot.

Then what IS the best perk in the game? It says a lot about Ruin when streamers complain about getting screwed over by totem spawns, yet they run Ruin anyway and put it at the top of killer perk tier lists.

Even in a worst-case scenario where Ruin gets cleansed right at the start of the match, it gives you a noise notification that lets you know where you should look for survivors, at a time when you normally have no information on where the survivors are. Even at its absolute worst, Ruin gives you a major boon that you normally wouldn't have.

Every other stall perk comes with its own laundry list of downsides, with an upside that's much less powerful in a real match.

There IS no definitive best perk in the game it depends on too many factors such as playstlye and also the killer being played. Nobody needs an info where to look for survivors at the beginning of the game since you know the spawns anyway and go there. To argue ruin did the job when it gets cleansed in 10sec of the match is nonsense.

  • BHVR are honestly like Thing 1 and Thing 2 from the cat in the hat movie. They always do the opposite on what the playerbase asks them to do.

    Playerbase: Please buff Legion

    BHVR: Nerfs Legion

Playerbase: Please nerf nurses addons but do not touch her base kit at all.

    BHVR: Nerfs Nurse's basekit

Playerbase: Dedicated servers aren't ready yet. More tweaks are needed before they can go live.

BHVR: Forces dedicated servers on everyone.

Cleansing a totem currently wastes more time than mending Deep Wounds, which is hilarious, given its name.

  • So uhh, only read the first page but did no one tell them that Nemesis + BoP turns him into a "B+ to A-" rank killer? I know, having to use perks to make a killer strong isn't ideal, but when they allow legion to claw his way back out of that shallow grave bHVR dumped him in out back, well...
