More evidence that the de-pipping system should be done away with, ASAP. All matches safety-pip unless you DC and double the amount of pips you need. Done.

Reminds me that I should start the 8ths topic about this, until BHVR takes notice :)

do not double the amount of pips you need. 10 pips for iri 1 ALONE? dear god xD

i think i'd prefer a system that depips me than that grind....

  • nah, overdrive's fun to use. maybe it could be toned down a bit but i think removing it completely is a bit excessive. i do miss having both deaths and dooms though. i never really want to use iri engravings anymore because iris are so expensive. but i'd use dooms and deaths all the time. it's a very awkward place for engravings users.

  • i agreed with you until you added the mori basekit thing. i do think 3ks should be incentivized as healthy more, but i really hate the mori mechanic. i'd rather if i already lost, people just hook me rather than do the "funie animation xd" it just feels so unnecessary. i feel mori system should only stay for those "kill a survivor" tome/dailies and nothing more. don't want to go against mori's any more than that. i know you're not suggesting mori-ing be mandatory, but i can't in my right mind back something that'll get me mori-ed more often. i'm sure there's other ways to communicate 3k is good enough...

and yeah, i know it's petty of me to not like getting mori-ed and i know i am, it's not that big of a deal but i got a bone to pick with people who do it. i just associate mori's with the most tunnel heavy playstyle imaginable and they're not really fun for me to see anymore. like, i don't get those funny ghostfaces in my lobby who just tbag / crouch constantly and meme and do the funny selfie mori with you, i (pretty much all the time) get those uber goobers who just want to make the game miserable for one guy because they brought the funny offering. i think the mori system should be not incentivized imho based off my personal experience, but ik my personal experience doesn't affect what other people's matches are lol, this is just me ranting about this damn cursed system that brings out the worst in some people for some reason

That is not what I said.

There have been many, many, many posts over the last months that stated solo queue was so horrible and that they pretty much never escape. This clearly shows, that this is wrong. Does that mean that every solo queue game is super fun? No.

But if you're not having fun in a majority of your games, then why do you still play?

I have honestly never heard someone say that I "abused" statistics (is that even a thing?) before. You do know that we have SBMM in this game, right? Now consider again what you just said. If you were to die significantly more than 60% of the time, your MMR would drop in response and put you against players that are more your skill. Meaning, your games would become easier and your escape rate would balance out again. The same would happen, if you were to escape significantly more. The only regions where it would make sense for this not to work are the very extremes.

Highest high MMR and lowest low MMR can have some players with different escape rates because they can't go anywhere from there. If you're at the very bottom, then you literally can't decrease your MMR anymore. I didn't think it was necessary to explain this. But SBMM does not allow for the very extremes to happen for most players.

This of course does not mean that out of 10 games you will definitely escape 4. This is not how statistics work. But with a large sample size, the average escape rate in your games will come close to 40%.

I can only speak for myself but most solo queue games are fine. It's more the ones with me solo and 3 people in a SWF that go south quickly (though that is probably just unlucky). You'll win some and you lose some but you can still have fun. Most complaints about solo queue come down to: "Killer too strong, we all die every time." But this data clearly shows that this is not the case (at least not for the vast majority of players). That's what I said before. This is not abusing statistics but looking at the actual numbers and considering the large sample size as well as the influence of matchmaking.

a 40% ranking does not mean solo queue is "fine" for the vast majority of players. 40% escape rate isn't a majority of games, and it without a doubt does not happen to every player, obviously, because of the large sample size. this is you abusing statistics. you are blatantly looking at a number, and then openly lying about what it says in order to prove a point.

Is 40% a small number for escapes? dear god no. but it doesn't mean that solo queue OVERALL is fine for a majority of people. you're stretching the percentage and using it to suit your personal narrative that you already came to before seeing the percentage. THAT'S what I'm calling out. You already believed solo queue was overly complained about before the stats came out, and are using this 40% to justify your personal narrative you already thought.

that is abusing a statistic. you cannot just use a number and make it say whatever you want. it's not how statistics work. you are openly using it as a "people cannot have a long streak of unfun matches and if you do you clearly must hate dbd and should quit" sign, when you should know that's not what the 40% rating means. what you're saying is blissfully confused at best, malicious at worst.

  • i just don't get why wanting survivor prestiges to still be in the pre game lobby is something people need to "defend" or "explain". it's so sad that other people are pushing their viewpoints onto me and other people who feel the same way as me as if we're wrong to think the way we do. me personally, I NEVER do that with other people, i accept i can agree to disagree with people, but i'm so tired of the no nuance response everyone gives. like wanting survivor prestiges to still be shown (especially so i can lobby dodge) is some sort of wizard jujitsu that needs to be removed from the game because it's bad.

like damn, i have a p50 zarina and for all i know people hate me for it and tunnel me for it and dodge me for it but i'll never know, and i'll never care because they won't tell me that. like am i crazy for thinking this? i don't think i am. you're free to push for survivor prestiges being gone, whatever, i accept it's an eventuality because they've already spoken about it, and have already tested the feature in game before, but i want survivor prestiges to stay visible for as long as possible so killer still feels comfy to me. :)

Hopefully this next chapter comes with a new game mode like 2 killer vs 8 survivors. Cause I gotta agree with you on this it's getting really repetitive. I'm only still playing to complete the rift after I'm done with that I'll probably end up taking a break unfortunately.

    here's hoping :(

This is exactly the reason it should be removed. It also makes matchmaking worse since the lobby now has to back-fill. Personally I think the lobby should be scrapped altogether. You queue then get matched and load straight into the game. Seeing items/survivors/prestige/steam profiles shouldn't be available pre-trial since it only gives the killer a reason to dodge. You were matched for a reason. Lobby shopping needs to go.

"But you will use all the best Offerings and Perks trying to get easy wins too."

you don't know me, because i don't do that. xD

  • no. with how many different maps are used just to be a "win easier" assist, i have no interest playing the more boring map offerings.

if you want to bring maps that give you a higher chance of winning, i should be able to say "nah, i'm good."

  • i hope they take their sweet sweet time on putting this feature through because i like dodging p100 survivors in my killer lobby. :)

(do not talk to me about prestige not = skill. i already know. skill isn't why i dodge survivor teams, and i'm so sick of being jumped every time i say i dodge p100 survivors by people repeating the same information.)

  • this thread is so annoying. every time someone even dares mentioning they don't have fun being tunneled they get jumped by like 3 different people calling out double standards that the original person didn't even make. how is this even discussion? it just feels like a playground for people to just annoy people who are already frustrated.

  • since he's a good killer now he's attracted a lot more new players, i reckon. or people newer to billy. these people i find are unconfident with his power so they tend to proxy more often to try and get more saw downs because insta down dopamine. maybe when people have had more time to play overdrive billy the amount of proxy camp will go down, but who knows. billy is a killer people didn't play super much and will probably need time to learn.

  • yeah one week was pretty short. they could've at least made it two. especially since it has some fomo banners and badges. i feel either don't have the event on at all or make it longer. i didnt even like lights out but hearing people missed out on rewards because the event lasted so short (for really no reason) sucks. they're hosting a bloodrush (or hunt? i forget) right now because there's a dry patch of content and it's really upsetting. they could have just extended the lights out mode and also given the blood whatever it is on top of that, but it's always one or the other with these guys :/

sorry you don't know the history but 5 was made to counter enduring (which reduced the duration by 20%) so yes 4 is fine

dbd history doesn't really change the fact that 4>5 is not a massive number change, unless you want to claim you experienced a completely different planet than i have.

Or we could just balance the perk like civilized people and not just slap big numbers on it

3>5 is a big numbers change for dbd players apparently, i guess people forgot what number comes after 4, because you're here claiming 5 is a "big number" compared to 4, 4 of which being the number you claim is "fine" for the perk.

I think 4s stun and 4s with no power (doesn't drain power) would be a reasonable fix, it doesn't punish m1 killers too much and gives a second before ranged and mobile characters a big more wait time but not too bad, I just don't like 5s because more time spent with no input against it just feels bad

i mean to be fair if you're eating dses i don't see what 1 second changes lol like if you're eating a ds either you're tunneling or they're forcing ds, either which you can counter by simply just playing differently. ignore them if you don't want to eat their stun, or just don't tunnel...

  • you know dbd is in a pretty healthy state perk wise if on survivor side people are complaining about deja vu. deja vu is a good perk, don't get me wrong, but suggesting it gets toned down is wild. i genuinely don't think it's strong enough to justify that. if you're so concerned about gen speeds, look into toolboxes. i feel nerfing any even somewhat overperforming survivor perk and not giving any perk buffs in return is what's adding to the lack of build diversity you guys are seeing. if you guys want survivors to use different perks, encourage buffing weaker ones lol

  • @Nos37 said:

To me, working on a generator from 0% to 100% without stopping (if left uninterrupted) is the equivalent of the killer hooking the survivor, picking them up off the hook manually, placing them back on the hook, and doing it a third time to sacrifice them out of the game.

The killer can kind of do this now, but it takes 120 seconds (150 if Reassurance is used, 180 if the survivor self unhooks and Reassurance is used again, and 214 seconds if they also have Camaraderie). And that's just 1 survivor; there are four. Meanwhile, a gen only takes 80 seconds and three gens can be repaired at once.

Instead of increasing the time needed to repair the gen by a few seconds every 2 or 3 years, how about adding a basekit mechanic that limits a survivor's ability to repair gens? Limit it to 50%. Then they have to run across the map, get a special item / replenish a gague / increase their token counter, and then can do 50% more worth of repairs. Just like the killer has to lose time in chases between hooks.

no. i genuinely would rather have another added 10 seconds than this kind of mechanic, and i was already against the 80->90 change because i thought it was a poor way of going about things. maybe as a gamemode, but absolutely not base game. solo queue would be even worse than it already is to the point i think a lot of solo queuers would genuinely quit.

LMAO "if you have to slug to get 4k's, you're just not as good as you think you are"

Yeah this will be my last response to you, as with a comment like that I can tell that I am not dealing with someone who understands the game very well.

However for my last response I would like to inform you that the hatch is part of a common game mechanic known as 'RNG' - that results in the killer has no control over the hatch spawn. However what they can do is to prevent survivors having mobility to search for the hatch and the way to achieve this is to slug them.

The fact I have to explain this shows I am wasting my time replying to you champ.

lol. yeah this guy's definitely right. covering his ears and stopping communication because of how right he is and how wrong i am. xD

you seem like the type of person to be insecure enough to check my response anyways so i'm editing my post and quoting myself because i already went over this but you conveniently ignored it just to be childish in my replies:

"i genuinely feel if someone admits they have to slug as killer to get a 4k it's a skill issue. i don't care about people who say "oh hatch is rng reliant and not getting a 4k for my challenge kinda sucks so i'd rather slug to guarantee it" those people are just regular players and i don't mind those people.

people who spread misinformation (you HAVE to slug to get a 4k because of hatch) have a skill issue. if these people had gotten a 4k without hatch escape they would know hatch escaping or not hatch escaping as last survivor is just up to luck. in order to have the opinion that you have to slug to get a 4k, you have to have never gotten a 4k before without slugging. which, in my humble opinion, is an immense skill issue."

you are arguing against me, when i have always quite blatantly stated, "the hatch *does not force you* to slug for the 4k". if you are disagreeing with that statement, you are objectively incorrect. you can 4k without slugging. if you do not think you can, you just aren't experienced enough with the game.

i do not care about your statements about the hatch being luck reliant. i know it is. that's not what i'm arguing about. i'm not saying killers NEVER lose 4ks because of things out of their control (hatch luck). i am arguing against the belief you HAVE to slug in order to get a 4k, as that is an objectively untrue statement which only seeks to breed negative playstyles by misinforming people. slugging for the 4k is always optional. you can always get 4ks without slugging, as long as you're able to find the hatch before the survivor, or the survivor before they get to the hatch. what you and other people are perpetrating is a "boogeyman" scenario, a made up tale that is just to fearmonger people who don't know better. if you cannot help yourself but spread misinformation after 4k hours of dbd playtime, that's not necessarily a good thing.

  • @MrPenguin said:

You're not wrong in saying its not forced upon the killer, you can get a 4K with hatch in play.

But saying it's a "skill issue" is silly imo. You have to get lucky with hatch and then get lucky with gates. Neither of those are skillful. Either you get lucky or you don't. Only certain killers are able to increase their odds with the gates.

Slugging for the 4K is also up to luck. You have to hope to find the last survivor in whatever random location they decided to hide in or that they run in for the pickup and you catch them doing it. It just maximizes your odds compared to the alternatives. It's the best gamble. There's no reason not to take it unless you personally don't like it or don't want to.

None of these situations feel great imo. On either side. Dying or losing a kill just because you got bad gate/hatch RNG sucks, having this super long drawn out endgame because the survivor(s) are excessively hiding also sucks.

Having a survivor reveal mechanic in some form in these situations would at least help with the latter.

no, i genuinely feel if someone admits they have to slug as killer to get a 4k it's a skill issue. i don't care about people who say "oh hatch is rng reliant and not getting a 4k for my challenge kinda sucks so i'd rather slug to guarantee it" those people are just regular players and i don't mind those people.

I understand this concern, most players don't like when others bring Map Offerings. But do you think that this would cause a massive or even significant influx in Map Offering usage compared to now?

Surely people who actually want to use their Map Offerings on a regular or frequent basis would still have the exact same amount of Map Offerings to choose from.

The only thing deterring them is if they don't like the aesthetic/movement of a Survivor or if they are lacking specific Items/Add-Ons. They currently won't have many Offerings that they want to use if they don't have all perks unlocked on that Survivor, which would be the biggest factor.

Unless you meant for Killers, in which case I wonder how many Killers you see that frequently bring Map Offerings, especially ones that aren't just a Macmillan Bone or Azarov's Key. Obviously you'll see some others (Midwich, Dead Dawg, maybe Lery's/RPD/Hawkins/The Game for gimmicks) but I really don't think they're that frequent or that a majority of people want to use them over other Offerings.

Also note that while it will be significantly less than someone's total Map Offerings due to how many different Map Offerings there are, Sacrificial Wards will also become stockpiled.

Personally I'm mostly interested in just making BP Offerings role-wide or even account-wide. So if they could only allow those and not the others without any extra major hassle that would be more than awesome too!

i feel pooling map offerings together would increase the amount of map offerings used. even if it's not major, i'd rather avoid that honestly. like i said, if it was just stuff like bp offerings i wouldn't mind at all, i just think map offerings should be exempt, don't think people want to go against more map offerings games lol

  • hope is too strong? that's news to me. i could understand hope mft combo being too strong but i have little to no gripes with hope itself.

  • i go back to the hook and just go after the unhooker lol. it's really not that hard to not go after the same person again. and killers win 9/10 matches anyways in this gamemode. if you just find the injured survivor again just go patrol gens and find someone else. no one is forcing your hand to tunnel. if you're going back to hook and your first instinct is going after the injured survivor you may be part of the problem of why tunneling is so prevalent in this gamemode.

Well I have nearly 4k hours in DBD but I guess I need to play more, right?

If a killer wants a 4k, the hatch mechanic FORCES them to slug for a 4k. Personally I can't be bothered doing that when I play killer but many do bother and I cant blame them as the hatch mechanic is the reason they do this.

the hatch mechanic doesn't force you to slug for a 4k. if you came to this conclusion after 4k hours, you're literally just incorrect. you can get 4ks without slugging. if you have to slug to get 4ks, you're just not as good as you think you are. sorry. very rarely in the forums do you see objectively incorrect things because it's a bunch of subjectivity in here, but what you've said is literally objectively incorrect. if you're only getting 3ks because you feel the only way to 4k is through slugging for hatch gameplay, it is a skill issue on your part, pal.

But it comes with a massive downside for survivors - the forced slugging for a 4k. I am not a big fan of participation trophy mechanics and that is really what the hatch is. The vast majority of my hours in game is as survivor too btw

    forced??? lol

if you played mostly survivor and your take is hatch is a mechanic that FORCES killer to slug for the 4k then idek what to tell you. maybe play the game a bit more first and come back to me?

  • yeah i have not escaped once as solo survivor. i am definitely inexperienced with the mode, tbf. never once have when i played, (played about 8 games) did the exit gates get powered. closest we got was a trapper on borgo and we got 4 gens done. what i find a lot of is i'm always the one with no hook tallies because i'm the one doing gens. and i find when everyone or mostly everyone is on death hook, i have to take chase, but taking chase is pretty hard without being able to hear a tr or being able to SEE the killer unless i'm practically hugging them :/ maybe i'm just missing something about this game mode but it feels very tough for solo queue. at least, for my play style. maybe i should take more chases? but it feels like i have to run into the killer and give them a free hit for them to take chase with me.

As survivor I’m agreeing with killers, it promotes selfish gameplay on the survivor side and forces this weird hide it out contest and if you do try to make progression just kiss yourself goodbye. So like I guess I’ll just sit on this gen until the killer comes to me for last chase and get as many points as possible before I’m slugged or in a weird two man snowball. I most likely won’t finish the remaining amount of gens bc the other survivor is certainly hiding. Idk how other survivors don’t see this as an unwinnable situation and that they’re not already dead, it’s beyond me honestly. Hatch is cheap at the expense of two other players no matter how you look at it realistically. I’m sure if the hiding survivor spoke up they’d say they don’t really enjoy hiding around unless they just genuinely don’t care about the other survivor or killers experience and that’s fun for them. Which to that I say to each their own but if you enjoy hiding that much why not just play outlast?

that's your opinion, i don't agree with it but to each their own :)

  • @MaTtRoSiTy said:

I have been saying for years that I hate the hatch as it forces slugging for the 4k if killers don't want anyone to escape. I cant be bothered doing this as killer, unless they were a particularly unpleasant team to deal with but plenty do like you waste your time by slugging you to get the last person. There is no benefit at all to killers for the hatch mechanic

well, it's not for killers, is it? it's for survivors. it's like asking "why add a killer fov slider??? this doesn't help the survivors..." not everything has to benefit both sides. things can just be benefitting one thing or the other. and that's okay, as long as both sides get these benefits crumbs once in a while.

You (and the 7 people who liked your comment) probably read the title and called it a day. I even put a TLDR at the bottem where I said the following:

"Will there be a moment somewhere in the feature where we could expect a new concept for the endgame? Has someone thought about one, is there an idea floating around? One which includes more interaction between the two roles? Which feels more satisfying for both killer and survivor? The current endgame situation creates, in my opinion, toxicity and awkward scenarios."

.... I'm not saying to remove the hatch and just let the other 2 survivors die. Because that's literally the first problem I mentioned, the last 2 survivors hiding. That will be a huge problems if you just remove the hatch like that, so why would I keep it that way?

no, i liked their comment because i agreed with it. i read your post. i feel writing everyone who disagrees with you as "people who didn't read your post" is lazy and proves you're not really here for a discussion.

plus, it's not like you gave people suggestions or anything to discuss. you just said hatch bad in 50 different ways and called it a day. idk what you expected us to say, you expected us to be like "oh yeah this guy definitely likes the hatch mechanic no problem here" like no. you clearly want it removed. replaced, sure, but yet again, you offered no solutions. you just gave a subjective complain thread and are wondering why people aren't enthusiastically agreeing with you. obviously, your subjective opinion on hatch gameplay is different than other people's because not everyone's played through the same matches as you. that doesn't mean they didn't "read what you said", muffin. it's so tiring reading people on these forums unable to handle people disagree with their subjective thoughts about gameplay mechanics.

I agree with @aerie. If we remove map offerings, this would be a great change. I still have like 700 cakes on my Artist and it would be great to use them on killers on which I don't have them (anymore). However, with map offerings no thanks because this would be a horrible time.

yeah. imho this would be a great QoL change. it's just having a big stockpile of map offerings concerns me, either they're kept out of the big stockpile and make map offerings character-specific (even just temporary if they wanna make a change to map offerings later) or just take em out of the game.

  • i would back this after map offerings are removed tbh

Some people just like to jump on the train of “I don’t like her” because of those ppl don’t so I want to follow the popular opinion…

Skull Merchant is fine. If they removed the broken status affect it would be perfect. Her pick rate is 1.70% so it’s rare you’ll go against her, I’d rather deal with her than Knight.

your subjective opinion doesn't have any merit over other people's subjective opinion. obviously removing skull merchant is a bit extreme (i'm sure they were half-joking though, but ((in my subjective opinion)) her issues are so bad her design is borderline hopeless).

preferring her over knight is also subjective, people also would prefer knight over SM. i wish forum users could accept not everyone has the same opinion about killers, and you're allowed to agree to disagree on things without starting a debate.

also, assuming because someone disagrees with you, they're on some sort of "hate train" is very immature, might I add.

    Simple solution to tunneling:

Make not tunneling more rewarding than tunneling.

Right now, there is Grim Embrace and DMS, even with nerfed stbfl Killers are going out of their way to hook 4 individual survivors and purposefully ignore the obsession.

Yet countless thread about how unbalanced and unfair those perks are.

So you dont tunnel and survivors dont like it, you tunnel they dont like it either...

You can nerf and punish tunneling all you want, there is simply not a single strategy in the game that is more efficient than getting one person out asap and robbing the survs of 25% efficiency across the board.

People will always play versus games competitively. Even goofy and silly games like fall guys get completely min/maxed.

Its human nature that ppl want to win.

Encourage not tunneling. Basekit grim embrace, 10% repair debuff if 4 survs are 1 hooked, whatever.

Nerfing tunneling or implementing basekit bandaid "anti tunneling" buffs for survivors wont change anything.

basekit grim embrace will literally just make tunneling more viable because you get free slowdown leaving the hook for a few seconds and can come back and tunnel even freer because the gens are closed off, plus you can easily pair it with deadlock too to give you more time to tunnel. i don't trust that you're not being malicious with this suggestion. xD

Uhm, I do like ur analogy, it’s a well supported argument, I must say the tittle is manly the attract people to the thread but with no surprise, many have only seen the tittle, I do agree with u, DS should receive its stun time back, but I can’t see this happening without changes to killers baskeits, people refuse to understand that just buffing a already strong perk that now can be comboed with Off the record, DH isn’t going to be healthy and will generate aggressive play stiles that u can’t punish

so you're contradicting yourself. saying DS should not receive a buff in the title and are now saying DS should receive a timer buff. and you're mad people aren't a fan of your title. pick a struggle. maybe don't get confused people don't like your title when you have to lie about your thoughts just for interaction bait.

Keep it simple: If a survivor is in your FoV with a Flashlight, they can blind you. Easy to understand with no additional strings attached like "How close are they to the static viewing angle flashlights are based off of"?

Honestly, just play against the P100s. I get matched with a number of them (it's been long enough that they're becoming commonplace) and 9/10 are average. This screenshot I took was me dying on hook while these two P100s were hiding in corners. They even had health states to spare/hook trade if necessary, and the game was completely winnable. One was a Jonathan Byers too, and at P100 they had to have been playing for years, since the original ST chapter was released. And he still hid.

Don't be scared of them. If anything I get tempted to dodge them, as survivor, because they play like this.

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/OSMWFIHDA96C/18d685ca51981-screenshoturl.jpg

i'm not scared of them. it's a video game. relax. i just don't want to risk it, i play very casually. i didn't post this to get told i'm "scared" for not wanting to play certain matches out. so annoying. makes me wonder why i even post anyways with this community if i'm just going to get jumped and get called scared for taking 10 seconds out of my day to leave and rejoin another lobby

  • i don't dodge as survivor unless i requeue into people i had a bad match with (either because they were toxic in egc or not good in game) but this happens VERY rarely so i normally never dodge as survivor

as killer i dodge multiple p100s. like someone said earlier, i know that p100 doesn't mean skill, but i'd rather not take that gamble especially since i'm not very good at killer. i'd rather be pleasantly surprised the survivors are good rather than queue into people who have a higher likelihood of it. idk, for me it's justified because i don't like getting stomped especially since i don't really have a main killer i play and only really play killer for dailies. i think my best is hillbilly rn and even then i don't play him much and am still getting used to new hillbilly and addons.

  • i was about to write a comment about how i'm surprised they didn't just buff ds to 5 seconds again and check how that goes as it should be a relatively easy change, but knowing this game, that relatively simple change might make pig go invisible or something.

Its an accessibility feature that everyone is going to use for its advantages just like the Visual Terror Radius feature. The people who need it for accessibility reasons are in the minority, and without a drawback it is just a straight buff to anyone who uses it and essentially punishes anyone who wants to stay on the old FOV for not taking advantage of it.

I'm all for accessibility which is why I'm okay with BHVR adding the FOV, but if your accessibility feature gives you advantages over other players, it is completely fair that this comes with downsides. You are getting an advantage, even if you are using it for an accessibility reason.

punishing people with accessibility issues because "they're the minority" is such an awful and gross mentality. of course people use the new fov slider for the slight advantage but why do people with accessibility issues have to have a disadvantage just because people min max advantage on this game??? like i'm so tired of this mentality. i'm SO sick of it. you're lucky the moderation here is oversensitive because i'm trying so hard rn to be civil but i'm so grossed out you're filling my replies with this kind of stuff and i'm grossed out that you're even allowed to say it. people with accessibility issues getting told to just deal with this stuff because they're the minority is such a harmful approach and is why people are afraid to ask for more accessibility stuff, because of people like you shunning them for being in a minority

  • just went against the aforementioned The Build (trademark pending) and can confirm i am not excited

I'm all for either both sides have downsides or no downsides. I just think it's lame that one side has to pay a price to use accessibility features when the other does not. Needs to be equal.

yeah i mean like i said in the original post i wasn't saying you disagreed

Pracrice what you preach. Survivors got a gameolay advantage with the visual terror radius/lullaby. You can be given several seconds of a heads up BEFORE you can actually hear it. That can make a difference between a win and a loss.

    https://youtu.be/-j65wVBMqNs?si=Ce0ZJ12Ba0zPsneu

So survivors get a no penalty accessibility option with clear gameplay advantages, but killers no no no, if you have accessibility issues and you use the accessibility option, screw you - you have to pay a price?

not saying you're saying otherwise/disagreeing with this but quoting your post because it gave me the idea of a talking point:

neither should have downsides. sure, people who don't have accessibility problems use these features and get small advantages, but punishing people who use the feature for accessibility on the basis of able-bodied people using a feature for a small advantage is not okay, and the other person saying it's okay because of the small advantage it gives is pretty gross.

i don't watch many dbd streams anymore but when they did and used the visual TR it was very cool for me, as someone who is hard of hearing :) i think people need to stop thinking about the uber competitive nonsense and just make these features purely accessible features and not give them downsides. it's not very fair, especially since i've heard bhvr likes to tout and brag about their accessibility features during steam award nominations.

  • honestly feeling that way too. if i have boring games today when playing for the rift i'm just taking a break, this game is losing its interest and soul and they're back to doing the bare minimum again for content. no cool events anymore or anything. it's just meaningless grind after meaningless grind and it's so soulless

They shouldn't fix it at all in my opinion. There is nothing broken with having a larger blind angle when you have a larger field of view. Setting your FOV up high gives you a competitive advantage. I think it is perfectly reasonable that this advantage comes with a small drawback in return.

as someone who uses FOV slider for accessibility, it having a downside is inherently punishing me for basic accessibility. so i heavily, heavily disagree with you. i think punishing for accessibility is really disgusting, actually, and i hope it gets fixed.

  • tbh i've never gotten a survivor to p100 so i've not noticed but as killer i def dodge p100s. i'd rather not go into a match with them personally. if they hid the prestiges i'd probably stop playing dbd because dear god i want the option to dodge high prestige players if i want to.

yes, i've heard the "prestige doesn't = skill" argument a bazillion times. i'm more concerned that p100 players tend to bring items and offerings because they have a bazillion of them by being p100. that feels more boring than going against good survivors with no map offering and no boosted items. :) i feel most killers don't tunnel specifically the p100 because they're spiteful, maybe you're just the first they chased and they were going to tunnel first chase anyways. just an example. i feel this discussion needs more nuance because i can assure you most people who tunnel just do it because they want someone dead fast, regardless of who it is. i know getting tunneled isn't very fun but surely we can find out another option than hiding prestiges.... :(

(just an editors note - but obviously i don't tunnel and i'm not being malicious with this post, i play killer super casually and if this change happened it'd suck massively, i think i'm the only one celebrating this change not coming for a long time lol. i guess i will continue being a vocal minority then)

The killer accessibility feature fov also comes with its own penalty - you're more suspectible to blinds if you use it.

mhm. i remember them mentioning to consider fixing that, but with how slow fixes can come, it probably won't happen for years :)
