But that feeds the killer even more. He now has to deal with 3 survivors, having much more pressure. If you want facecamping to be punished, just stare back at him and flap your arms to show the others "Im being facecamped" so they hopefully do gens and the killer gets a boring stareoff with below 10k BP.

As soon as you send him back in action by DC you give him the fun back. Keeping him at the staring contest, gens popping in his back, might on the long run change his playstyle, if they have lobby simulator in trials as well

I only disco right when they get ready to death hook me or something if I get unhooked. If it's the first it's usually what I do and DC right before I die after the struggle. My teammates are usually smart enough to do the gens

I fall guilty to rage quitting from time to time (only as killer really) but every time I do I am barraged with death threats and harsh words, I feel as if I should stop playing this game for how toxic it is.

I rage quit sometimes because the killer takes the fun out for me. It's rare that I do though. Getting face camped or tunneled is very annoying for me. I'm not good at the game and I dont really run meta perks like DS or even Adrenaline. I stick to my fun wacky builds and get tunneled or camped because they cant catch anyone else. I cant even loop or time pallet drops. I'm just in the game to have fun and it gets ruined because of other toxic players.

Hello fellow survivor mains. I am a survivor main myself and I just wanna say, Let's try to be nicer to the killers who aren't toxic. Ik Both sides of the game have some Toxic People, but to the people who aren't toxic and just are trying to play, Let's try and be nicer to them. Especially if they are newer to playing killer and Don't know what they are doing. Let's try and be kind people to one another. And Ik ik, some killers have certain playstyle's they like that we don't ,but we do as well; have playstyle's we like but they dislike. Let's try and remember that at the end of the day we all Play this game to have Fun. So yeah, Love y'all and be safe out there during these Hard times ✌

I'm always nice to non toxic killers. This michael myers just not too long ago... ah it's hard to explain. He was a good sport is all I had to say. He was going up against me and a friend. He tombstones 2 others is when he realizes we were swf. He played valiantly until he realized he couldnt kill us both because we knew where hatch was. He actually messaged me and asked me to kill myself so my friend could escape.

He thanked me and we talked a little and he told me to tell my friend GG

  • I'm just a survivor main and I don't care for NOED or DS. I run what I want to run to make the game fun for me. Only other players ruin for me or... bull crap hit boxes.

I dont complain about NOED because I almost NEVER get hit by it because once I see how someone plays... I assume they have it and do bones... b iui t most of the time I do them anyway because I have inner strength .

I dont complain about ds... because I dont run it or go against it.

Hackers were giving multiple people 72 hour penalties for no reason, so they took it down to either fix it, or slightly rework it.

(I don't think they should increase the time, what if a power surge happens in someones house, and because of it, they get punished for 30 minutes. Not all DCs are intentional)

This literally happened today. Real bad storm and the power went out. Around the time you posted this too

You forgot the part "for whoever can make it to the hatch in time.". Which still begs the unanswered question of does the Survivor community also call out their own who ditch their teammates to get slaughtered? I mean, yes, you bring up a valid point: Well progressed match, more points than dying 2 minutes in but, still a shady move to take off without the others or only inform a select few of the option to escape. I mean, maybe there's just an inherent self serving side to the Survivor role that I'm unaware of as an outsider? I'm only able to call it as it looks from my perspective. Keep in mind; I'm NOT invalidating the aggression towards Killers who 4K mori in 5 minutes or whatever, simply asking if that "######### you, got mine" minority of your community is ever policed as well.

Side note: has there ever been a record of hatches working differently? I ask because you mentioned the 3 gen, 2 deaths rule for hatch but I have played games where it was opened with all 4 alive.(See my above mention of 3 ditching 1 scenario). Did I come across some kind of hack or bug? I play on Switch so I genuinely don't know if that's possible not.

I mean I had someone angry at me because they had got downed and I wouldn't use my For The People on them. They would have rather me get caught and they escape instead of me escaping when I was dead hooked too. I've actually never gotten yelled at for leaving with a key as... when I bring one it's a team effort as I'm SWF if I do and try to get as many people out as possible.

I've actually led teammates to hatch and then killed myself so they can escape

I had a match with The Hag and I fast vaulted got Lithe and then teleported backwards and was grabbed on the pallet 😂👍 but then I had matches as The Killer, and I know I grabbed someone off of a generator but then they start running.

My husband just had a match with a GF on the new map and he had already vaulted and touch the ground and started running only to be ported backup the stairs and pulled off the vaulting point

I've lost more teammates to suicide because of mori than actual moris

This. It's why I dont go to higher ranks. Green is where I stay

I literally made an account to post this. You are a rank 1 killer, yeah you're probably good, I don't know, but seriously, you're not going to win every match you play. Just like not all survivors are going to win. I'm down at rank 6 and there are plenty of times I don't escapse. Killers gotta kill, and survivors gotta survive. It's how it be 😄

Lowkey though, all the wholesome people are down in the low ranks, as you get past rank 12, people start to get a little mean. After rank 5 it's even worse. Y'all need to calm a tit.

I literally just made a post saying that green ranks is like tree he best place to be

Like just the other day a friend of mine got penalized for so.ethi g he didnt do. It said his game was suspended therefore he was sent to the main menu and bvn got penalized for it.

NOED is fine as it is, its high risk, high reward perk that can be easily countered by cleansing totems. Dont know why NOED should be nerfed only because survivors are lazy to cleanse totems during game and better go gen-rush. Its great counter to gen-rushing.

I dont understand either. I literally jump off a gen when I see a totem. I cleanse all totems as soon as I see it. I hate noed... so I do my part... make sure killers hate it too by never getting to use it.

So did the game crash (console error) or did the servers cause it?

    Two different issues.

It's also a 5 min ban. It takes what, 2/3 mins to restart after the crash/freeze resolves?

It leaves a 2 min wait. When lobby times are already 20 min wait, it doesnt owsnt seem like a big difference.

Potato servers dont cause the application to crash. Just to DC you.

Also, it's never crashed before? Yet now that DC penalties are a thing, it's happened for the first time yet you're saying it's so problematic they need to go.

    Something doesnt add up.

Like I said before and in other threads. 5 mins is short. If something legitimately caused you to get kicked, dont knowingly go in with it as a possibility until the problem has been resolved.

If I know what caused it I would have explained a little better. You're trying to fi d an excuse due to the lack of me explaining. The console did NOT cause the crash. The game did. Also you're wrong. It doesnt take us 20 minutes to find a lobby. Stop exaggerating. It took us 5-7 minutes to find a match so for the length of the ban is what it would have taken us to be in another match.

The console has crashed the game for me many times but never for him. I've gotten plenty of errors for playing games but surprisingly he hasn't. I've quit games because they happened right at the end.

So because the game crashed (not the console) you're saying dont play the game until the game fixes itself? We've already concluded it wasn't the internet because he was still connected. We both were.

Tldr; he was in game, kicked to the main menu, said the game was suspended, banned for 5 minutes, which is a long time for something he didnt do.

  • Oh lord. Can we get Khimari as survivor so we can use self destruct as a perk?

  • @Carpemortum said:

So by the time their net came back the penalty was over. Problem solved.

Unless it keeps happening and their internet sucks, in which case they need to sort it out before joining games knowing that they may get DCd by their net and screw over their teammates.

If it's not the net, as you're on the same internet, it sounds like their system, a random kick, or like a good cover.

All these excuses keep coming up now that people cant DC without consequence.

Actually the the game crashed. It wasn't over when he got back in the game either. So.. problem not solved. He didnt dc on purpose either so no excuses. He was about to escape. He was opening a door and poof. It froze and he was on the main menu saying the game was suspended so he was kicked from the game. We are in the same room and was playing g the same game (swf) and I was playing fine. He was literally 5 seconds from opening the gate as I said before.

The potato servers need to be fixed and the game needs to be fixed. Never has the game crashed like this before for him. He LOVES this game. He has never dc'ed purposely.

  • -slugs a survivor- "I'll be back" in Arnold's voice

-hooks a survivor- "I'll be back"

  • It's just not fun. I like to run what makes the game fun for me. I already suck at the game anyway so why not change It up and have fun? I play differently than everyone else so why would I use the same perks? Only meta perk i use is adrenaline but barely even that. I get left on the hook so long I quit bringing BT. I kinda just worry about myself in games now and if we all get out we get out.

    Is this good?

For a survivor, For a killer,

Let me know what you think.

People want the game to last like 30 minutes when in my opinion it's not supposed to be like that. The game seems very fast paced for the state it's in right now and I think that's how it's supposed to be played. Quickly.

I dont have time to be sitting around while the trapper sets up his traps for the first 2-3 minutes of the game. My goal is to survive not toy with the killer and let him kill. The killers on here like to play with their food and honestly I'm not putting my butt on a silver platter for them. They have to work for it just like I do.

  • @Nurgling7 said:

People are quick to point out how quick SWF breaks the game because it does.

You don't need a sweaty 4 man hit squad. I play with a friend who only has around 100 hours and only just now hit rank 10. The amount of information we share, even casually, just totally ruins the match for the killer in ways they usually can't even tell.

What gens are being worked on, what killer it is, what direction they are going, whose going to save whom, what gates are being opened. The list just does on and on.

As true as this is as I was reading this I had a basement camping bubba with insidious. Would have never known that without my friend telling me. He had a 3k because the other 2 didnt know.

As for body blocking, I've yet to see someone body block billy, bubba or oni :P

My dumb butt has done it and very rarely gotten away with it.

  • Yes let's bring logic it. Trapper can step over his traps after setting them briefly. He also can just step in it and keep walking after he rearms it.

  • @homagegray said:

Do I really have to point out that doing bones is incredibly pointless? Most other survivors don't do them, it takes time away from doing something productive, and you have no idea whether the Killer is running NOED until it's often too late. This perk rewards bad play on the killers side and punishes survivors for playing well.

The whole point of doing bones is to prevent this. NOED is fine. Survivor main who runs small game in his normal set up by the way. Bones are important too. Not just gens. This is why.

  • @ClickyClicky said:

I love low ranks so much I wrote a haiku about it.

    Jake down in 5 secs

    Claudette hiding in a bush

    Dwight pulled from locker

HEY I DONT GET PULLED FROM A LOCKER A MUCH AS I USED TO!!! As a survivor main who barely plays anymore I barely events lockers unless I'm literally right next to a person who's about to get hooked.

  • I like how people are saying pressure gens. A while back I was playing Michael with no addons or perks right? So we all at the asylum. Mind you I'm a survivor main but I love Michael, so I play killer from time to time. I was just playing around. I was green rank at the time.

I never kicked a gen. I got a 4k with 2 gens left. I never hooked anyone either. I just kept drowning them and waited for them to pick up their teammates and went after the healthy ones only. It got to the point where they bleed out one by one. I didnt go back to the one on the ground until after they fully healed and even then I didn't tunnel them. I just left them. For those that tried to loop me i popped my tier 3 and well.. downed them and left. It was a fun game.

    I forgot my point

  • @gantes said:

I've played quite a bit of survivor in the last few months - not that I prefer playing survivor, I just wanted to play with my BF and we unfortunately don't have KWF yet lul. One thing I see way too often is people escaping unbroken while some of their teammates die or people having their first hook when everyone else is dead.

Let's make something clear. That's NOT skillful. That's NOT something that should be rewarded by something that paints itself as a ranking system. Unless the killer is terrible, being hooked is inevitable if you're being somewhat useful for your team. If all you're doing is sometimes holding M1 in gens and crouching behind corners while the killer obliterates the rest of your team, you're a bad player.

Just think about it for a second. You're allowing your teammates ro repeatedly take the heat. They have 3 iives at best. Think of it this way, your team has 12 lives collectively. By avoiding chases for the entire match you're essentially wasting two of those while other people die.

Honorable mention to people who save their teammates inside the killer's terror radius and immediatly hide. There's a special place in HECK for yall. Seriously that annoys the everliving frick outta me as both survivor and killer.

People complain a lot that rank means very little, especially for survivor with all the questionable players at red ranks. A good way to start fixing that is keeping players who can only hide and are awful in chases from ranking up. When survivor emblems are finally looked into I hope that's adressed.

tl;dr: not being hooked all game because you're running the killer around too much and they eventually give you up: good. Not being hooked all game because the killer is deliberately tunnelling/prioritizing someone else: good. Not being hooked all game because all you do is hide, even when everyone else is on death hook: lack of very basic game knowledge, you shouldn't rank up at all.

What about me? I'm bad at looping so I avoid chases. I do however take heat if my teammates are looping near me I body block.

They’re not partaking in “normal gameplay” either by refusing to finish the game. It doesn’t matter if he did it before gens popped. They still have the option to finish the game and this survivor die by EGC or the killer. They’re too busy feeling entitled to a 4e. Get over yourselves. The killer is not in the wrong. He’s securing a kill.

Then the survivors aren't in the wrong by not leaving a teammate behind to get killed.

  • Dont really care for ruin as a survivor but... now my most favorite perk us no longer needed. Small Game.

Killers slugged and tunneled anyway before the change so... why wouldn't they do it now. They should just change it back. It would have gotten newer players for learn how to play better with a harder curve.

  • My friend picked up Doc right after the rework and was just shy of perfect games all 3 games. Maybe it's just you. Hes purple rank by the way and was going vs red/purple.

  • This is just... murder in the first degree...

  • My husband went up against a 4 man SWF all with OoO... he was tilted

  • His stomping is louder than the chainsaw

  • I gave one called the Business Hips build. Got the idea off of fortnite. The motto is always got somewhere to be.

The build is Fixated, Urban Evasion, Sprint Burst and another perk of your choosing. The basis of the build is to always be mobile and get to your destination as fast as possible by any means necessary

  • @Archimedes5000 said:

Then why are you surprised? If you bring all medkits when no one will let you go and heal. And if you didnt bring anything then well maybe you should have. Killer may be #########, but key is not a counter to tunneling.

People want keys to be nerfed because it lets people escape anytime they want and abandon your team.

    Keys are cancer like moris

Obviously you didnt read that he escaped with another survivor after 2 were tunneled to death. If you wanted more details on the match you could have said so.

The second survivor he escaped with was on the hook. He unhooked them and escaped with them. There was no team abandonment.

So I've been wondering as we head into 2020, throughout DBD's life, what's been your experiences of praise Vs toxic or abusive messages that have stuck with you, and what's the ratio of these messages?

To give some context of my experiences:

    Platform: PS4

Time played: Devotion 3 LV 50 (as it's on PS4 no idea how many hours this equates to)

    Killer/Survivor Ratio: 50/50

    Ranks: Purples/Reds

In my experience the messages I've received have almost always been toxic/negative and only today have I received my first ever compliment/praise after the game, which caused me to ponder if this was the norm or the exception.

On PS4 it's a real pain to message as there's no chat box, only the PSN menu which ain't the best to use. As a survivor, I've never received a message from a killer, but as a solo player who doesn't hang around to troll the killer, I guess there's not much to say. As a killer on the other hand, I'd say one out of every 10-15 games I'd receive some form of hate mail. If SWF are involved the likely hood of this tends to be much higher, as I think they need something to do while they wait for their friends still alive to die/escape. While I don't often camp/tunnel etc, if a certain survivor/survivor team decide to teabag etc, I will do whatever is needed for me to enjoy that game. From time to time, I will use Mori's/let the last survivor go, but I don't make a habit of either. I consider this a fairly normal attitude to the killer role. The amount of messages has always felt fairly high to me, but then I remember the days of CoD and all the on mic trash talking and it all seems a wee bit more normal.

A negative experience that has stuck with me, was a particularly sweaty game of Hillbilly Vs SWF, quite a while back. I felt both sides played well, and in the end despite all the gens being completed, none of the survivors made it out. My inbox was flooded with 10 plus messages of misspelt, angry, insulting mails and the fact I reported and ignored them seem to infuriating them more, as they spammed me over the next hour. Blocked and ignored but it stuck with me, how entitled some people felt that they should be allowed to escape because of XYZ. This is something I see often, but unless I as the killer feel like being merciful or wish to reward a good player with a bad team and allow them the hatch, then I don't feel they're entitled to anything.

Now on the other side of this, the positive mail I received today complimented me on my Devour Hope usage. Playing Piggy on Lampkin, things are pretty fairly matched, Devour hits 5 stacks and that's the end of that match for them. Received a nice message complimenting the surprise use of the perk. Was a lovely change in the sea of hate mail, as I was fully expecting it to be hate.

It got me wondering, what ratio of positive to negative hate mail do players receive and does platform make a difference when the chatbox is right there after a game, making the prospect of saying GG much easier? Thanks for your replies below.

I've I deserved to be ket go I would have escaped not have been sacrificed.

  • I don't think its op at all. I'm a survivor main and well as soon as I see one active totem I clean them all or even if the killer is playing badly I clean them because I assume that a crappy killer is gonna get sweaty in the EGC with NOED.

  • I feel this. I've never been red ranks before. The closest I have ever gotten was rank 12. That because I only swf and barely solo. Solo'ing is terrible because no one really knows what they are doing.

People lead the killer to me and sometimes it seems like it's on purpose, survivors blow up a gen and then fast vault over/into something. Come next to me just to self care instead of letting me finish the heal.

  • How about no. An easy fix for this would to be to run Brutal Strength next time. You have your fix just use it.

  • I've been running small game a lot recently. That and tenacity. Break all the totems and if someone is nearby when they try to save me I usually get away due to tenacity.
