  • who cares, games incredibly killer favoured you still wont loose your matches

  • devs just play killer they don't care

  • what a killer heavy update to nerf survivors - I wonder if they just want a 70-80/20-30 K/S ratio or want the entire player base to move to playing killer. What can you possibly enjoy from this game anymore

    you're missing a point here

dead hard also had a problem where people could "mysteriously" auto-use it (if you know what I mean)

and you couldn't prove it was cheat, you could only guess

now this will help to reduce it, there are plenty of good and fun perks to use, people should let dead hard go to be honest

stop camping and tunnelling then - the patch is an overall attempt at nerfing survivors more - theres no actual improvement to camping and tunnelling

  • @Coffeecrashing said:

This game also has bully SWFs, that try to make the game miserable for the killer. And if they are a streamer, then you can hear them make fun of the killer the entire match.

Are you ok with survivors that purposely try to make the game miserable for killers?

That is so bull #########, I've never come across a "bully SWF" in my entire time playing this game.

  • I just did a 40m game against a 3gen camping skull merchant - we lost so it rewards the playstyle and cue the toxic killer chat post game. Don't know how that is fun for anyone but hey these moderators and devs probably get paid well so they don't gaf.

You lost one second. ONE SECOND. And that's if you hit all great skill checks. If anything the new wiggle system has the potential to be much stronger. Ever tried to go through a doorway while carrying a survivor with Boil Over?

The truth is that sabotaging hooks and bodyblocking are way easier than getting the down. That's why it should be hard and inconsistent to deny hooks. Hooking is the only way to progress the game as a killer (other than slugging 4 survivors, which I'm sure you wouldn't enjoy either).

the mechanic does close to nothing currently - i have about 10 clips I'm putting together to show devs that the mechanic has no visible shaking effect to the killer. Killers can walk accross half the map currently with absolutely no sway - boil over is at best marginally effective - might aswell take it out of the game at this stage

The fact that the game's in a pretty good spot and has only been getting better recently would be a pretty solid reason to be optimistic, I'd think.

I'd struggle to even come up with reasons to be pessimistic. We've had a few sloppy chapter releases, but that's nothing new. A few annoying business decisions too, that's more of a legitimate issue. Still, hardly outweighs all the good that's come recently.

nah the game is far from balanced. They have only given the killer side of the player base any real improvements.

Looking back at all the things that has happend this year: 2022.

    1. a better Wiggle Mechanic
    2. Pinhead voice lines.
    3. WE GOT SADAKO and whatever his name was.
    4. New Haddonfield
    5. Legion addon pass and their new TR.
    6. Ghostface addon pass and non washing machine TR.
    7. The Dredge and Haddie, a Killer with locker tp. Amazing.
    8. Garden of Pallets.
    9. Map changes added to McMillian.
    10. The Huge Summer Perk Pass.
    11. Overall Killer buff and Generator Nerf.
    12. Old Dead Hard died.
    13. Bloodweb Grind was reduced SIGNIFICANTLY.
    14. Matchmaking Incentive.
    15. THEN WE GOT WESKER. Ada and Rebecca are hot too I guess. I prefer Sheva.
    16. RPD got reworked.
    17. Streamer privacy options.
    18. Flashlight changes
    19. Spooky Knight and Old Man Vitto.
    20. Custom Game Bots.

There is no way I can stay negative about this.

all killer buffs on that list.

Apart from these two absolute banger useless comments there's no icon or commination for survivors and nothing additional in the game to make it challenging. The devs wanted 60+% win rate for killers and I suspect its getting closer to 70% 4K's. Theres nothing new added to the game in the sense that it gives another objective or second chance. We had 4-5m games at the mid part of the year. Good luck being optimistic devs are very deaf.

  • Most people don't have time to play games everyday we need $

  • this games bad - the devs are pretty spoilt and just cbf making the experience nice for all partys

  • Yes I agree but meeting this mad respect killer is pretty rare.

  • @danielmaster87 said:

Solo doesn't need buffs. They need better matchmaking, which is why the devs are doing team MMR.

solo q simply does - convince me solo q isn't in need of help.

  • How is that salty/toxic - have you played call of duty? BF? WoW? Dota2? Overwatch? LoL? please get real haha

  • So are we talking about winning the game or whinning after the game... Killers are also strong... they win more than they loose - that's undeniable.

What do you want every post game chat to be like in that instance? People need some sort of outlet to express frustrations - and chat is one of them.

  • The games in a terrible state - survivor you usually escape 1 out of 5 maps and I usually get to Iridescent 1.

I'm not convinced that rank resets are a favourable idea.

And lastly this game isn't able to be enjoyed on a casual basis unless you SWF. Killer perspectives might be different

  • I think greater transparency is a good outcome for the community. When data is hidden it becomes a bit of a "Trust us" moment which I believe does not keep them accountable to the players.

I know its hard role to play, you have to deal not only with a killer, but 3 other guys who may not be as usefull as should... but

I play mostly killers. Im quite mercifull (unless doing challange). Im trying to hook someone 2 times before start killing, and even this is rare, mostly i let survs escape after some intense game and chases. Sometimes i lost track of hook count and sacrifice someone unintentionally (I just realize that iri memento mori is best tool to track survs hook count... if i can do mori with it, it means that person is on its last hook... this information should be available to all killers.

But sometimes survs are just bad... and its nothing wrong to be bad, its time to learn and play. I hooked everyone of them twice, and because i had challange i had to kill them all, better - this would lower their mmr and let them play with some worse killers. I let them finish 2 gens before first kill, and another one before rampage.

A the end screen, when I said "gg", they said: "i hate you killer" and this made me sad :(

played against a basement trapper who also slugged 3 people today. end of game he goes "gg ez no re - your all bad" "feed me your tears". Logged off after 1 game to read discussion to chill and then this post haha. If we all just went of our personal experiences we might as well give up.

  • cyber atlas man - I on average get escape 1/10 matches - people are doing 300 win streaks in this game as killers on YT. I don't know of any other games in the world that are competitive where players do 50 win streaks, 200, 300 some cases 500. If thats common for youtubers to make content like that not even in the top 10 leaderboard then im lost bro.

  • just lost to a twins with 5 gens to go - 4K - this game is loosing all legitimacy lmao

Returned after 2 months not playing this game since the huge patch. Played 3 games and got tunneled all the way until death.

    Is this fun?

For killers I bet it is. This game will be dead soon.

    gg ez

worst patch I've ever seen with this game - escape is like maybe 20% of games if your lucky - devs are too old & out of touch

Don't play the game if you dc. You can complain about balance, you can not have fun with the game anymore. BUT literally any other game will just start banning you with the amount some people DC. League, OW, any competitive shooter. They all start banning you for ruining other people's game's, in something like COD it's irrelevant because losing one player really isn't that meaningful, other player's can pick up the slack. In dbd, one dc is gg and everyone but that dc is just bored now. Seriously, just don't play the game if you dc/suicide more than twice a week.

It's bhvr it took them 5 years to change the survivor meta, they buffed killer when 95% of killer's were struggling vs survivor's. The solo buff is coming, they are slow. Imagine if killer's dc'd before 6.1.0 the game would of died, oh wait survivor queues were double current killer queue's because they all just stopped playing the game instead. I think the only reason bhvr doesn't implement a real punishment is because they know a lot of people will actually stop playing the game, due to always having the ability to get out of each game they want for free.

When you guy's defend it, you are just embarrassing your self's whether it be your own bias or your lack of awareness in online pvp games. And then I will see you guys in the same thread tomorrow repeating the same thing.

Killer buff was in June 2022, its been 5 months and the game is tilting back down slowly.

Its 6 month cycle has been more or less +-50k players for the last year.

We can probably agree that the only thing they really care about is cosmetic sales.

  • I've had an almost 1:1 DC rate every game played today. What a magical solo q experience

  • Happened to a buddy on RPD after unhooking also. around 5m into the game

  • I had a survivor friend crash after unhooking them - is there an error with hook animations maybe?

  • I just want to know what the average game times from each patch

Tbh that would be good change. BNP can be as unfair as alchemist ring or double range for nurse, etc.

On the other hand - I would appreciate some noob-friendly addon on flashlight that would help with timing. RN it's insanely hard to learn the timing if you can't ask friends into customs. All I ask for is addon that will widen time-window by 0.1s. maybe in can also have some negative like wide lense with making the effective distance half the original.

what do you suggest in regards to its replacement? My issue with all of these killer favoured sanctions is that while there are more survivors there is much less diversity of itemisation. New survivors bring perks not items and If the killer win rate is 61% as an average, imo you're limiting a teams availability to have agency within a game.

  • sure but what is the end of the discussion - currently a lot of killer mains are asking for a complete nerf to Brand New Parts

I’m glad the devs made flashlights more accessible for people with epilepsy but they way they went an changed them to do so made them feel so insanely clunky especially for me a console player i can no longer use them to try to mimic pc movement the beam bug for male survivors is on all survivors now an i know they said they would continue to monitor them which is why i have hope but flashlights do not feel right now especially seeing as they were always the weakest item in the game again i’m not saying clicking should return just the way they tried to limit clicking for flashlights is not very good

    Survivor items that are garbage

    Flashlight / Flashbang

    Maps

    Keys

    -

Basically forces toolbox . medkit run

because you are in that case one of the best dbd players in the world, I would suggest going comp to cash in on that, unless you of course WANT to pub stomp all the time

I don't think comp really pays anything in comparison to a game like dota 2 or fortnite. But would definately be worth their time for competitiveness ~ if you are really that great at gaming i'd suggest taking the talent to bigger games my man

  • @TheArbiter said:

While it sucks when a Survivor dc's, the killer isn't under any obligation to then throw the match themselves

Not wrong at all - theres just nothing in it for survivors. If the average game is 61% for killers it pretty much becomes 100% in that scenario.

DC's should essentially give bp's based on when a players dc's. Within 1m of game just do 10k bp's so all players don't loose pips.

  • @Omans said:

The easiest and most skilless strategy for killer is also the strongest. If you play that way as killer you can beat a team of players who may be on average better than you.

However, if you play 'fair' and spread hooks which is a far more skilled way to play, you are only putting yourself at a disadvantage, and it allows survivors who may be on average less skilled than you to escape even if perhaps they shouldn't have been able to.

It is a serious design flaw in the game, one that the devs either don’t know how to fix, or don't even realize it is an issue.

devs don't really respond to anything on this platform.

Theres no regular QnA, nothing to really show transparency between those who make the game and those who play it.

  • @Ayodam said:

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a survivor DC or give up on hook when the survivors are winning. It makes no sense why they would. If it happens, maybe they have to quit/leave because something is happening offline.

I get someone DC'ing or suiciding as often as a 50/50 chance since new patch.

I don't think people care anymore the player base is dwindling anyway.

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

I've been pretty vocal about VC for solo queue, and still think it would be a great QoL thing for solo q. But been thinking and there are a couple of perks that i think should be basekit should be added exclusively for solo queue players that would make the game more playable for them.

Deja vu, maybe remove the gen repair speed bonus but I fond one of the reasons solo queue games often end in 4ks is because randoms will just do whatever gen is infront of them and often end up giveing the killer an easy 3 gen. Deja vu if they utilise it means they will always work on a gen close to 2 others, naturally spreading the gens being worked and passively helping to avoid a 3 gen. Wouldn't hugely unbalance anything but just give less experienced players a nudge in the right direction and more experienced ones a little more info to avoid 3 gens like swfs can.

Left behind. In a 1v1 looking for hatch, killer has a definite advantage. They don't need to worry about getting caught and can move around the map faster and more freely, so killer will often close hatch before survivor can find it. Giving solo q players only a basekit left behind, perhaps with a reduced range, say 12-15 metres would help redress that balance. Don't think killer mains will like this suggestion, but hey, turning a few more 4ks into 3ks isn't the end of the world. It's still a solid win for killer, just allows individual solo q players a slightly higher survival chance.

I've had the hatch spawn at the killers feet multiple times and its one of the most frustrating outcomes should be atleast 20 tiles from any player

  • @Laurie268 said:

Pressing esc when you get hooked also lowers the sound of your scream

thank you ill give it a go!

  • @drakolyr said:

Not just hooks, its also if someone is sacrificed and on the whole map its way too loud.

Some survivors also moan louder and some scream longer when they are hit. (For example, Rebecca litterly screams 10 seconds loud?)

They should really give some audio options.

Yes for sure. Audio options in this is a must - probably all aspects of the game could benefit from this?

Its understandable frustration, but unfortunately the devs don't take the response the way you might think. It kinda ties in with the way people have been misusing the recently released kill statistics, as it is part of what makes them inconclusive: When someone disconnects through connection loss, or through using the leave game button, they get the penalty and the match is thrown out. This is to prevent those frustrations/connection issues/DDoSes/etc from affecting their statistic collection. They have admitted that they do not have any way of adjusting their findings on the "more subtle" methods of players skewing outcomes with things like suiciding on first hook, which on their end just appears like a normal match which almost always ends in a 3-4k due to how heavily it shifts the advantage. It makes all parties involve have worse matches, and still counts like a normal loss for other players who might otherwise have been able to escape, spiraling them even further down in MMR.

Climbing MMR with poor measurements is certainly an exercise in patience and optimism. You're going to lose your grip or your footing plenty along the way, and most of it likely won't be your fault, but all you can do is make sure your progress outweighs your setbacks. The higher you climb, the more you will be matched with survivors who overcome similarly, which is why climbing is actually desirable on survivor as opposed to killer. But again, whether it be through DCing or "sanctioned" quitting methods, those games are always guaranteed setbacks and drop all potential of either gaining ground or minimizing the ground lost. And most importantly they stretch to how that impacts the other 4 players as well.

Also thank you for the maturity at the start, that was very wholesome and i respect it :)

bro your comments are insanely long. Do you want to be a game developer? I don't get it...

    To offer some constructive opinions..

If a DC occurs within 30 seconds to 1 minute of the game it should not be scored or games should be without a penalty for others. Or a percentage like 5 based on average game times. Or until a specific action occurs like first sacrifice / hook.

In a lot of multiplayer games they do this setup - take Dota 2 for example - DC within first few minutes and MMR is not counted. Players free to go.

  • This game has been beyond ruined 39% escape rate is just sprinkled bull. I Escape 1/10 games not 1/3. Now if there was accurate MMR then technically 1 out of 4 survivors should escape a game and this is not reflective of game experience.

Then you are the problem. If you have a problem with some part of the game, take it up with devs respectfully.

Oh yeah, they'll get right on that. lmao

Devs don't reply to anyone - it's not in their job description I don't think, so why would they. I haven't seen a developer do a Q&A live - have you?

  • matches are very mixed experiences - no doubt the rank reset is playing into this :)

  • I've noticed the trend is significantly higher when a killer runs Lethal Pursuer in a solo q match and gets a hook within 30 seconds. This is usually when players go straight to a DC or Suicide. I don't have stats on this but pretty much most games just become garbage after that. Devs should understand the impact of their changes but who knows...

  • This game is actually garbage. Maybe 1 escape per 10 - 20 games on average in soloq as survivor. I'm getting to a 30% of my games 4K with 5 gens in about 5m. I'm lost to an argument on how this game is enjoyable.
