  • So I was playing Trapper yesterday, and as the match started I saw an offering for Badham... initially I thought "Oh crud Badham... here we go, this'll be rough", only to find 2 Sables running No Mither... Initially I was confused, wondering if this was some Weaving Spiders shenanigans or something... I checked main for basement, wasn't there, but I found both Sables down there... After downing

  • I've always been against the hard counter nature of Lightborn and just straight up removing flashlights from the game... it's especially annoying with regards to the challenges to blind the killer while carrying a survivor, but as we all know, Lightborn isn't particularly good, and once survivors realise you have it, they stop trying. So, I was playing with Shadowborn after the rework, and I dun

  • So this build is something I've never seen, and is pretty much a relic from old DBD... so I tried this build out for giggles to see if I could make the most M1 of M1 bullds... and it worked far better than expected. I have no illusions, strong survivors will crush me, but it was actually not awful as a build... Vanity Mirror - Gives us wall hacks in tier

  • Not gonna lie, I always hated getting hit by a Clown bottle... I'm already clumsy and his bottles always made me stumble around like even more of a goof and make a stupid mistake. Each Clown I've faced, I ended up leaving having never even seen him, and wondered what was going on. I finally got hit by a bottle after the rework the other day... and there is barely a visual effect... it's slightly

  • This is something that affects me on both these killers...and was wondering if anyone else gets the same? It feels like something you can get used to, but it's a little off-putting when trying to learn a killer. Whenever I teleport as either Freddy or Unknown, the direction I'm facing is almost never the direction I want to be facing, and it always take me half a second or so to get my bearings

  • I do not have as much hatred for Skull Merchant as others do, and I do think the excessive hatred of this character and insta-quitting against her is unreasonable for sure... but there are objectively problems with her new design that one can't in good faith ignore. I've argued many times I really like the new scan lines approach to her kit. It isn't binary like the old AoE scan system, and snea

  • Yes this is incredibly pedantic... but... Something that has irked me about the character from day 1 is stating that survivors hit by the UVX are affected by "weakness". I realise that the survivor is hindered for 3 seconds, but "weakness" I feel doesn't quite sell it to me... especially when the 'weak' partbof it lasts such a short time... Weak - 1. lacking the power to perform physically dem

  • With the new stats having been posted, both Scourge Hook: Pain Resonance and Pop Goes The Weasel are far more popular than most other perks... with its buffs we all expect GE to do the same. I want to first state that I feel like both of these perks are in a good place and don't really need a nerf IMO... but there is a chance they MAY get looked at with how popular they are, so it's likely worth

  • So I've long heard that Commodius toolboxes are better than Engineer's toolboxes from many sources, and I've just accepted it as fact. I created a build recently centered around Scavenger and my logic was, if I take the toolbox that expends charges faster, I can take a full set of charge addons, expend my Toolbox quicker and start getting Scavenger stacks to get it back... the value probably bal

  • I recently came to my epiphany about how DBD worked, and that is that survivors are NOT a team. They are 4 players who individually trying to survive, but also rely on each other. This is reflected in the bloodpoints reward system, the grading system and the store page itself. I've maintained for a while that MMR is working as expected in line with what the community asked for (Prioritise queue

  • Off the back of this thread: https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/404837/how-does-one-blind-the-xenomorph One of the things I really enjoy are the unique animations for pick ups/pallet break on Pinhead, Alien and Sadako. In fact Pinheads generator break is one of the coolest animations in the game IMO. Off the back of the above thread, I felt inspired to d

  • I was playing on Garden of Joy, went to unhook my teammate, and the prompt refused to come up. https://youtu.be/9UHSWJGP7DM?si=2sQJ7Yrw9Sm-fcXC I don't see any perks in play that could possibly be interfering with unhooking, so I believe this issue may be solely isolated to this hook specifically.

  • Obviously the PTB is the big talk RN, but as an aside... These I'm sure must be planned to come back, but any time frame on when we can expect them to return? I bought the DLC on PS5 the moment I saw it in the store, but I like to do adepts immediately on each new character I get, so haven't touched the ST cast while waiting for them. Any ideas or hints when we can expect them?

  • We've heard of the survivor handbook for killers before... but for my fellow killers playing mostly chill and for fun, what are your triggers that flick your murder switch on to showing no mercy and going hard in the paint? I personally have 3 (in order from lowest level to highest): - Hanging around and following me constantly for flashlight/pallet saves/instant unhooks. Using FTP+Buckle U

  • Description Was carrying Claudette as Huntress on Haddenfield and suddenly got locked in the carry animation. Suddenly Claudette gets dropped. No idea what the trigger was, I'm pretty sure it wasn't a head on, as I didn't see the locker go. In hindsightI should have checked for Head On + Quick & Quiet at the end... though the fact she goes to the downed state is strange... Here is the vid

  • Killer Mains! Of all choices you have, what single perk is the one that synergises perfectly for you and your Killer's play style? The one perk you can't live without? Can be meta for hard stomping SWFs, can be some mad cap BS perk for goofing about, or could be the perk you use for roleplaying... whatever your goal is for DBD, what's the one perk you prioritise more than any other? • This game should be fun... I've recently had an epiphany about DBD... and it's reshaped how I think about everything in this game. I'm primarily sharing because, this series of thoughts has softened the blow on a lot of the more annoying aspects of this game, that I frequently see complained about... There is a fair amount of bittnerness and burn out for people on DBD, and my reason for sharing

  • I've seen a few places now where people keep asking for Forfeit options and/or no DLC penalties. Suicide on Hook is of course an issue, and a common solution suggestion is to allow people to give up or allow people to leave for a bot. The fundamental issue with adding/allowing these things is how common they will become. If you take away DC penalties, you can't really give Survivors no DC pena

  • It's no secret that Hillbilly is pretty rough in general, but he is especially on console, and the problem is pretty obvious... it's that his ability to turn quickly for 0.75s at the start of his charge with his chainsaw lasts a very short time. This means on mouse and keyboard players can flick their aim while their turn arc is good to bend around corners... but on console, you're limited to yo

  • I've watched old footage of Freddy, and not gonna lie... his power seems pretty cool compared to now. There are some things I like about new Freddy, but overall the original idea was far more interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OgCvfzNyHc So.. If Old Freddy came back, he'd likely need some changes to fit modern DBD... what 1 change to his kit would you prioritis

  • With the loss of Stranger Things from the general perk pool, I thought I'd put forward a few suggestions to replace them. BHVR has said they have no plans for new perks, but maybe we can change their mind.... The goal to my mind isn't to necessarily create super strong meta perks, just some nice/decent perks that fill a roll in the general list that has decent usage to get going in DBD and offe

  • Merry Christmas all! There are loads of weaker perks that need buffs, but there are a few pretty decen/good perks that are good balance wise... just kinda boring and uninteractive. Do you have any perks you think should be changed to be more interesting? Nerfing is not the intention, just altered to engage the players mind a little more? My choices would be thus: Survivor: Windows of Opport

  • Although I am a little concerned about the 3-gen changes coming, I have a reasonable amount of faith it's going to be like the AFC. Restrained and something that doesn't affect normal play. I watched Scott's take on 3-genning and how he would fix it, and to summarise, the idea is map design is the issue, and the solution is to push gens to the far reaches of the map, and use LOS blockers so a 3-

  • I think the AFC was a huge success, and a great feature. It doesn't affect vast majority of killer interactions with defending hooks, and camping hooks is still viable when really needed... but it does stop the most agregious, boring and oppressive cases of Face Camping, opening up minor windows for survivors to play around or make trades, generally making the game more engaging for all. • This perk will never be that strong... but currently does the opposite of what it's meant to do, I.e. make it easier to follow scratch marks. By bringing scratch marks closer together, you don't get them on Windows/Walls, which actually makes it harder to track your target. As a buff I would suggest making survivors leave their normal scratch marks. Predator: Spawns an additonal closely boun

  • Myers is not on the list for a rework in the first half of 2024, but given BHVRs recent work rate, I have faith him and Freddy are in their plans. As such, this is my last suggestion thread for Myers, before I trust BHVRs eventual plans (I solemnly swear!). I'll add my thoughts and reasoning in spoilers afterwards... but the short is, these are additions that don't change his core mechanics much.

  • I've noticed a recent trend in this forum, YouTube and reddit, and other places online that Stealth is maligned as a problem in DBD, and lots of discussion about needing strong perks to be able to counter it, and perks that facilitate it to be nerfed. I'd first like to say, I 100% agree that rats are a pest in this game. Regardless of whether you're killer or survivor, nobody loves a rat... howe

  • I'm on PS5 BTW. I've been hit with this perk a few times now, and in all games I've had, I simply cannot see the aura of my totem... I have even had Open Handed a few times, which I think affects Plaything... and I still can't find my totem after running around the whole map... I've actually thrown a few games now, cause I've suspected there is a bug, and I've deliberately hunted my totem as so

  • So since the nerf, MFT has been in a sharp decline of usage, but I've actually been enjoying experimenting with using it recently. My best build thus far is: - Made For This We're Gonna Live Forever Botany Knowledge Balanced Landing (or your choice of Exhaustion perk). It's like a none scummy version of FTP and Buckle Up. Between Botany and WGLF, a slug is healed within 6.4 seconds from

  • I had a "Oh... that's why..." moment today, where after facing a number of Chucky's, whether it was me playing or spectating. I kept seeing Chucky players heavily commit to searches at particular gates, to the point it looked kinda fishy. As I'm in a cast and can't play killer right now, I'm 100% survivor, so I couldnt play him myself and I couldnt work out what was happening. Today I've finall

  • Rules: - Characters must be original to DBD, all OC DLCs are valid (even SM!). Entity itself is disqualified as a choice. Feel free to explore up to 3 killers and 6 Survivors to be featured prominently, but only 1 can be your last girl/guy, and only 1 killer can be your final encounter. Bonus points for deciding who dies in what order, and how. Bonus points for Easter Egg ideas for other me

(~7 seconds for 50%, ~14 seconds for 100%) New Haemorrhage : -9% per second heal progress after 1.5 seconds of not being healed. • Following on from UW post, I accept that tackling Ultimate Weapon is a complex thing that can easily kill the perk. https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/397529/the-ultimate-weapon-skill-gap This makes it a tough nut to crack... and my only thought for making UW consistently fair is to modify Calm Spirit.. and most people cite remove the Calm Spirit weakn

  • So as many people know, I'm quite vocal about this perk, but the advantage of discussing in this forum is your opinions get challenged and you're forced to reassess and sometimes even change your opinion. So to get on with it, Ultimate Weapon is a big talking point, with some players maintaining its OP, some saying it's only OP on certain killers, and some saying its strong but fair, and some sa

  • I want to say first... I love Deja Vu. It's one of my favourite survivor perks, so I'm not advocating for nerfing it... however... It's existence as is makes Visionary absolutely pointless. I'd happily run Deja Vu just for the permanent 3 gen detection alone, the extra repair speed is just an amazing bonus. Visionary allows me to see gens near me within 32m (boostable by Open Handed) and simila

  • There are A LOT of add-ons in DBD, and what makes them tough to assess is the fact they are so closely tied to a killers power. As such deciding what add-ons should be is highly contextual to the killer. After listening and watching a number of discussions on this, I'd say that labelling a killer with good add-ons should meet good scores for the following categories. Basekit - The killer pow

For me I'd have to say Jump Scare Myers, especially with Sloppy Butcher. It's not broken at all, in fact it's actually pathetically weak and only even serviceable in the right map... but it just annoys me. I don't like jump scares, cause they dont really get

  • To self unhook at phase 1 is 4%, and is intended as a last ditch Hail Mary to escape when all other allies are downed and all hope is lost. I'm a firm believer in DBD mechanics like Kobe and Hatch are necessary to avoid scenarios where all hope is absolutely lost as much as possible, because if there is truly no way out, then there is no point in playing. The elephant in the room is this mechan

I then thought about it more, and wondered, what if t

  • Bloodlust gets touted a lot as a band aid fix to map design, and as a byproduct is an unfair effect that helps less skilled Killers catch more skilled survivors. While this was the reason for it's introduction to the game, I feel the follow up assessment of it being unfair as a mechanic is not really accurate when you really think about it... and I want to explore a few points to hopefully convin

SM is a controversial pick... but I will praise the weight of that mori. Older Moris however lack behind at tad. Some of the classic Mori's are great... While this was kinda cute and clever... it sucks to play against, no one would be unhappy to see the back of this. Any normal person wanting unhooks will use Deliverance.
