  • Are you guys just not capable of creating systems that don't require reading a wiki to understand? Judging from the blog post , the new Archives feature is needlessly overcomplicated, just like the emblem system, and the entire per-character unlock process for perks. Are these things designed by DESIGNERS, or are they designed by engineers who have no firm grasp on how normal, non-technical h

  • Alright, I am gonna lay this out in one place, so I can copy and paste this entire thing every day if I have to. You're in for a long read. The single biggest problem with Dead by Daylight is the amount of grind that currently exists in the game. Here are the issues, and what can be done about them. -- 1) New players are intimidated by what it takes to even play the game at a reasonably enjoy

  • Here's a quick-and-dirty list of ideas to significantly bump just about every killer's power level up to something resembling an acceptable level. Nothing for Hillbilly, Nightmare, Nurse, or Spirit, since they are at the power level that everyone else needs to be brought up to. Maybe Demogorgon too, I dunno. He's too new for me to say. I have NOT put a ton of thought into this, but it should giv

  • Thinking about my feelings on the "overpowered" items and abilities that prompt so much hand-wringing here. I was going to post this as a reply in this other thread , but I figure I have enough for a good discussion here. Looking at the game from a macro view, I feel like the design philosophy that makes the most sense is that the killer should have access to powerful abilities that esse

  • What's the upside to this change? It seems like this is probably just gonna result in more lobby dodging.

  • Wild idea, but hear me out: Survivors rank up when they survive. They rank down when they don't. Sliding scale of pips, based on personal generator contribution. Killers rank up when they sacrifice survivors. They rank down when they don't. Sliding scale of pips, based on # sacrificed. Nothing else matters (unhooks, chases, power use), except to help Bloodpoint scoring.

  • Why do flashlights burn Wraith completely out of cloak and stun him? I just played a Wraith game vs. three flashlight carriers, and I basically could not use my cloak, even for the speed boost alone, because someone would always immediately flashlight me out of it. I understand and have no issue with flashlights as an overall game mechanic; survivors can use them to stun a killer, and the killer

  • Here's an idea for an easy Devotion reward: How about 1,000,000 Bloodpoints every time the dial cycles? It's something that's already in the game (meaning minimal development burden), gaining a Devotion level would be rare enough that this reward wouldn't happen very often, it would provide ample temptation to start prestiging multiple characters, and it would help with DBD's #1 problem -- the s

  • I was going to post this as a reply to the "What features would you like in this game?" thread that @Skairipa posted, but now I want to make it its own topic. Dead horse TL;DR: I would like to see DBD's grind reduced dramatically. Just a broad flat reduction. It's too much. I feel like I need to make a cut-and-paste thing for future use, because nobody seems to get it. But here goes. The g

  • Dear survivors, Whenever possible, I take relatively active measures to not tunnel any one person. If I see your teammate unhook you, and I'm nearby, I'm ALWAYS going to go for them -- partly because I rightly expect to be punished by Borrowed Time otherwise, and partly because I feel like that's just the better move altogether. Sometimes, I hit the wrong person because I'm at a bad angle. I'm

  • "Be chased by the Killer for a total of 120 seconds with Ashley J. Williams." "Escape and survive 1 time(s) with Laurie Strode." Please stop. Just eliminate the specific survivors from the quest requirements, and let us do them with whoever. Having to play specific ones is super-annoying. I understand it with killers since they're all different, but not with survivors. Give me a break.

  • Consider turning a few perks into baseline parts of the survivor and killer kits. It would help the overall quality of life in the game, by way of encouraging cooperative play, deterring camping, and helping killers find survivors more reliably. It would also remove some of the false choice that currently exists around a couple of "must-run" perks for many players. The existing perks would obviou

  • Getting this connection error, with code 8012: "Cannot connect to online services. Please try again later." It also can't sync my Steam data. Did the PC version's servers go down for everyone? What's up?

  • Why does this forum constantly save old drafts to this folder, even after you've finished it and pressed "Post"? This is super-annoying. The second I post this, I'm going to look at the My Drafts folder, and see a saved draft for this thread.

  • Freddy just feels... off... somehow. I dunno. Maybe my brain is just not accepting the new power set in the skin of a killer I'm already familiar with. And, granted, I've only played one full match with him, so take this with a grain of salt. Here are my thoughts: 1) His game brightness is totally whack. It's so bright that I feel it's distracting. 2) I was playing with dream pallets. I felt li

  • Had a Spirit game earlier today, two survivors with flashlights. I hooked one guy and all three were swarming me like locusts literally the second their friend got hooked (like, they were crouching right underneath me). Half the game lasted at this area as we played Musical Hooks. Flashlighters got exactly one save because I forgot to look at a wall during one pickup in all the chaos, but other

  • Topic. It would give players more options to sample a variety of characters and get an idea of how they actually play under realistic circumstances, and decide whether they enjoy a given killer's play style with a "full" build. Players would still have to put in time to unlock more ranks, and to unlock each character's perk slots, but man alive, it would be a marvelous QoL upgrade to have more o

  • This is super-disappointing. I'd much, MUCH rather have aura-reading on sleeping survivors, than a gen teleport. There is now a total lack of killers who are super, ruthlessly good at finding survivors without leaning on detection perks.

  • This is the third time that Bond has shown up in the Shrine in the last 9 weeks. These other perks have all shown up 3+ times so far this year, too. Ace in the Hole Calm Spirit Overwhelming Presence Remember Me Shadowborn Streetwise Is there no human curation to the Shrine? You'd think it would have a smarter self-selection algorithm that prioritizes perks which haven't been up there for

  • Couldn't the Freddy rework just be a new killer who uses the same concepts, but is just re-themed somehow? It seems like what was described on the stream could be the basis for a good Lovecraftian sanity-based killer. We've had all kinds of buffs and nerfs and adjustments since the game started, but this is going to be the first time a killer has been effectively removed, and replaced with somet

  • Some 48-hours-in thoughts on Ghostface after leveling him and playing him a bunch: 1) He's good. He's REALLY good. Ghostface might be a Nurse/Hillbilly/Spirit-level killer, but much more broadly accessible to players who don't want to spend 2,000 hours mastering a specific set of skills like some sort of Dead by Daylight Liam Neeson. This is OK; the game needs more strong killers. 2) He's stron

  • Hi. I'm new to the forums. I'm not new to DBD. I like the game, but I'm not daft enough to ignore the fact that there is some definite Stockholm Syndrome at work. Here are some thoughts on DBD's most pernicious problems. 1) The Bloodweb. I explained this one at length in another thread ( https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/69285/bloodweb-rework-not-in-sight ). TL;DR is that it takes a
