"Why would I respect someone who stubbornly refuses to listen to reason? Why would I respect someone that has no consideration for the feelings or plights of others? Those are not respectable qualities."
The hypocrisy in this statement. Especially since you're personally attacking me because my argument is in favor of the majority while yours is in consideration for you alone.
"Why would I respect someone who stubbornly refuses to listen to reason?"
You made me repeat myself like a dozen times in this discussion….so who refuses to listen?
"You are not the first person to try and pathologize me simply for having a bit of self-respect, and you will not be the last."
If this is a regular occurrence for you then you should take some time for introspective thinking. What about your behavior causes this to be so regular? If i had to guess you've developed a highly defensive maladaptive coping mechanism due to disapproval and negativity in your life. CBT will help with that. Therapy is not about affirmation. It is about the identification of maladaptive thoughts and behaviors.. and challenging them to improve yourself. The purpose of therapy is to help people better understand themselves, manage their emotions, and develop healthier ways of thinking and relating to others so they can live more balanced and fulfilling lives. At its core, it is about growth, healing, and building the skills needed to navigate life effectively. I would recommend heavily that you consider perusing it, namely CBT. Long term studies show that CBT is just as effective, if not better than typical SSRIs.

If I were to stop tunneling altogether tomorrow, go out of my way to never hook the same Survivor consecutively (I usually don't even keep track of Survivors' hook states), I guarantee you that Survivors wouldn't stop calling me a sweaty tryhard or baby killer or somesuch. They'd say I'm not allowed to play high-tier Killers, so I'd switch back to Knight. Then they'd say Knight is annoying to play against, so I switch to Wraith. Then they'd say my perks are stupid or I proxy camped too much, etc. etc. etc..
None of this is necessary; there will always be one more thing.
And if, at any point, playing with all those handicaps is finally too much for me, there'd be a whole lot of "gg ez" in the endgame chat.
The Survivor Rulebook for Killers can go to hell. It's a meme, and it should have died years ago. Stop trying to dictate how other people play.
I’ve been lurking cause new killer release and I’ve advocated for survivors in the past but I’m just commenting here again after literal months to let you know that other person is off the rails. Tunneling is hardly “toxic” and anyone trying to push it as such should really have their opinion disregarded.

Should be more like 30 seconds or so. Or at the very least 20 seconds, that way it would take a minute before crows start spawning on top of survivors.
Not to mention it seems like cleansing hex totems doesn't count as being not afk? If so that's just crazy.
if you don’t finish the totem it counts as no action. So trying to cleanse a Thrill totem and being interrupted will accumulate crows
-
It’s terrible. Killers playing Oni and Legion while Survivors had content removed (herbs).
It’s bizarre that the solution to nobody wanting to play 2v8 Survivor is to allow people to play it during Killer queue instead of making the role fun to play.

It's 14 meters now (15 with handkerchief). Keep in mind the minimum distance to grapple objects is 5 meters from your position, so you really only have 9 (10) meters of usable targeting for objects.
As someone who played a lot of Titanfall & Pathfinder in Apex, and plays grapple light on The Finals occasionally, the shortened distance just feels really bad when combined with the "misclick" (white reticle, no target) cooldown. It just doesn't feel smooth anymore. And to top it off, they introduced new hit-denying bugs when they changed his grab over objects threshold, and the pallet kick cooldown exists now too. So he feels extra clunky and annoying to play. But for some reason he can still insta-vault which just punishes the people who haven't learned to stop pre-dropping against him so like…
It's a sad state of affairs all around.
yeah, he’s a buggy mess. Strong power with multiple bugs (maybe?) that make him stronger than intended (maybe?)
Finding a balance for him to feel good to play as and vs is going to be difficult especially with him launching so powerful.
-
If you played so much that 18 meters is in your muscle memory then just do the same for 16 meters. Or you can use the handkerchief and get 17.
-
Us not reaching the milestones because everybody wanted to play Ghoul and 4K ASAP and nobody wanted to play Survivor isn’t BHVRs fault.

So I take it you don't know what an infinite is? Because infinites mean the average killer, not talking about nurse, kaneki etc, would not be able to catch up no matter what they did. It was the whole reason why balance was nerfed to have the speed boost at all levels so people couldn't keep it at tier 2 to keep JUST the fall stagger reduction.
Again allowing for infinites again is broken.I know what an infinite is. Nurse is right there. You mention Kaneki who is extremely bugged rn (including insta down no counterplay) and isn’t killswitched. They do not use the killswitch for these things.

Allowing for infinites is game breaking.
No, it isn’t. Harder to catch Survivors is not what the killswitch is for.
-
No, they cost you the game like the Merciless Storm bug or Kaneki’s bugs. They aren’t breaking anything @Pulsar edit: messed up
-
Ghoul has tons of bugs rn he is not kill switched. When Merciless Storm reset gens it was not kill switched. Kill switch is reserved for game breaking bugs.
-
No but I did have a game where I only had one on the old Borgo against a Sprint Burst prerunning BNP/Streetwise/Prove squad. My worst game ever it was a total wash. I was too embarrassed to defend the hook.
-
Eyes as Survivor and both as Killer. I’m not giving a Kaneki double BP so he can tunnel someone out of the game.
-
yeah the ghoul hex build is sooo weak.
I’m tired of people who clearly don’t run Hex builds complaining about them.
-
I’ve brought BPS/Cake as Killer but I’m not bringing them as Survivor just so a Kaneki player can get way more points than me

… people bring multiple haste perks at once when they're not just looking for a little edge because that's what makes them fun: getting the biggest speed multiplier possible. Rather than, say, just bringing a balanced meta build with a tiny bit of speed replacing some extra slowdown or info or what have you.
Except we're being forced into meta builds because not letting things stack will just slide it towards the individually strong perks.
I’m aware of that I was being sarcastic.
Nobody feels pressured to bring haste perks. And haste perks do not actually account for 50-100% of any given build like slowdown or second chance perks which feel required against competent SWF and Killers.
-
Glad they’re finally addressing haste perks. They’ve been bandaid perks for both sides for ages. Both sides feel pressured into bringing them to have a chance and they usually account for 50-100% of the perks on any given build.
I’m sure they’ll balance stacking other less important things like gen regression and 2nd chance perks eventually.
-
No idea. I’ve escaped like <5 times as Survivor and I have not lost as Spirit yet lol
-
I don’t want to play against the sweaty buggy Ghouls or the Champion of Light bug abusers for terrible BP. It’s literally so bad I can’t.
-
I hate this stupid event. It gives nothing for BP AND it fills blood webs with an ass offering. Can’t stand it.

Probably a weak bullet point from me. Like I said, I can get smoother with my rushes, despite the jankiness. But you can never be exact with cancelling it directly on them 100% of the time. Let's say you are: Survivors with smart movement who have a plan are not gonna just let you do that over and over. They'll go in directions that you can't simply get to them in 2 bounds, especially if there's los blockage. That's the kind of counterplay I want people to start exercising and discussing. What all the complainers are doing is shift W, but this killer kind of counters that, so they leave themselves wide open and then say there was nothing they could do.
Going over god pallets doesn't mean you auto-get them either, because they still have time to run. It's faster than Wesker's vault, and probably as fast as Chucky's Scamper, but you're still having to catch them as a 115% M1. Depending on the loop, as in most of them, that often isn't enough. They can also detach from that pallet to another nearby loop. Ghoul is not a one stop shop for downing survivors, whatever his strengths are. At the end of the day, he still has to down with M1, and if that was enough, why aren't Freddy or Clown or Legion near-undefeated?
I will start by saying I think his biggest weakness is clutter and chain windows. This is a big issue for him on indoor maps. But, I think certain maps being terrible for him and others being terrible for Survivors isn’t good for either side unfortunately (side note try Bamsnoozle on him)
For the pallets are you grabbing them as they drop the god pallet and going over it quickly? You will down them before they make the loop extremely consistently. It goes into my next point.
His power lets him circumvent things that normal Killers cannot keep up with. If a Survivor is going somewhere that is just terrible to chase other limited Killers cannot just dip out like the Ghoul can. Legion has to avoid stuns, 360s and run to the Survivor for his power and then do it 1-3 more times. Kaneki’s injury is free and comes with gap closing movement.
I do think Survivors who get hit and run into the open need to look at their gameplay but his gameplay loop isn’t hard to understand. It’s free injure→wait til pallet throw→jump over as pallet is thrown→hit. Or free injure→wait til pallet throw→break pallet→jump on them if there is more than one loop/jump at the loop if there is one loop. DO NOT use your power like you’re Spider-Man and try to outplay the loop with your power.
He just isn’t really comparable to Clown or Legion because he has far better mobility, less commitment and is good against strong tiles. Yes he has to M1 you but his power is better than theirs for the injury and the M1 down.
This ended up longer than I wanted but I hope it is all readable and makes sense! :>
-
You admitted yourself you aren’t landing your power consistently. You even made a comment earlier talking about how you lose distance because you jump past survivors.
Are you even using his power to stun Survivors and jump over god pallets? Canceling his power when you’re in the air and jumping beside Survivors instead of past them? I highly doubt it.

I'm leaping ahead of people with him, and it's just like any other mobility killer when you shoot past them: you lose so much distance that you might as well have just 115% walked normally at them.
Why are you shooting in front of them? You’re not supposed to shoot past them unless it leads to a down. You’re supposed to land in front of/beside them after canceling your power while you’re in the air. If you aren’t using your power correctly of course you’re better off just 115ing them down

I’ve felt the same playing against him. He doesn’t seem to have a tell for anything he does. I also think his mobility is far too oppressive, particularly in the late game.
Yeah I can’t say that having to watch a YouTube video to understand a Killers power is great for the game or solo queue.
I don’t like a lot about this killer but watching him leap away with Kindred is amusing at least. -

At the moment the game doesn't care about rocks between you and the survivor, if he's able to aim at you and you run behind a rock he will hit you no matter what. You can attack so quickly if you instantly cancel while sliding: you can't cancel while being in the air with your power, but as soon as you touch the ground you can cancel it and you'll still slide - so if you're sliding besides the survivor with precision you can m1 almost instantly, because the stun happens while you're sliding.
Also I don't call him bad, but some people seem to think he's a second nurse or blight for some reason. He's simply a better legion where you actually feel like you're able to do something.
thank you for explaining it to me! I guess it just feels unpleasant to play against them. I’d rather face nurse or blight tbh. I’ll just wait until killer queues go back down and try him myself in a couple days.
-
Typically I see a lot of the new killers on day one and today is no exception but I noticed that I saw more Rize than Kaneki. Anyone else experience this?
-
I usually wait to play Killer for a day or two so the queues are less extreme.
I’ve played against him a couple times and I can’t seem to figure anything out about him. How is he hitting me from the other side of a rock/debris? Why are they ready to attack again almost as soon as his jump ends sometimes?
Is there something I’m missing? why are people calling him bad?
-
2 kills and 2 outs on your first time trying a Killer against that stuff seems fine to me. What’s the problem here?
-
I voted no. Killer queues are too long. Survivor is boring with the XP bonus being the only thing making it worth playing and they’re taking that away if they extend it.
-
They’re absolutely broken and since they’re easy anyone can play as them to test it. The only game I lost as Legion was because my Wesker teammate was AFK.
They added an easy to play, strong in 2v8 Killer that makes playing Survivor miserable when they need Survivor players…it doesn’t make any sense.
-
No, I have a P100 Survivor and the Killers I play are P25+ at least. My BP reach the cap often because it’s so time consuming and boring to spend them
-
Because like many Survivor players said…they do not want to play with bots. So now you get 2 bots per lobby but you need people willing to put up with bots.
I had a bot escape with 9K points without touching a gen. And I’ve already seen multiple clips of bots just walking around doing nothing. People warned this would happen even on here, it’s no surprise Survivors don’t want to play with them.
-
For others I think it still is. I see a lot of slugging for 4K in my games and have for a long while now.
For me personally, 4K doesn’t really mean anything. I play Spirit with at least two slowdowns, if I’m not 4K’ing it’s because I’m 3K’ing and giving hatch. I haven’t lost on Spirit since the Tomie skin came out at least. 4K’ing is the standard for high tier Killers and my expectation when I play Survivor so it doesn’t mean anything to me.
-
Maybe? infection was problematic before but it’s been severely reduced and I think in general the only thing he has going for him is his ability to throw survivors. He has stuff in hit kit but it’s hardly oppressive and he has to hit you with his power which Killers should be rewarded for. He’s a well designed chase Killer whose reward for hitting his power is displacing a survivor and then later a small amount of slowdown and info.
Calling his kit bloated when Dracula is right there with a sidegrade as 1/3 of his power would be silly to me.

Is this another Huntress-Skin situation where people just bought the skin because it gave an advantage and are now mad that this advantage was removed?
If you consider not being bugged and working like it should an advantage?
I payed money for this skin because I like playing Spirit and love Tomie. I was finally able to play Spirit without her bugs AND play as a horror icon I love. Now, all 3 Killers I enjoy the most (Skull Merchant, Houndmaster and Spirit) are bugged, including the skin I just bought.
Suggesting people are mad because they’re not getting an “advantage” when they’re clearly upset about not getting a functioning product that they paid for is ridiculous.

I actually think slugging for a 4K at least in my games was less common before the finisher mori. I saw it sometimes but usually the killers I’d face wouldn’t bother. Now it’s pretty common.
It did happen less often before the changes I agree!
It has always been fairly common in my experience but after the finisher mori changes I’d consider it the “norm”. I expect it when I lose on Survivor.
-
Slugging for the 4K was already common but since the mori updates it’s like 8 or 9/10 games. I’m surprised when Killers hook the 3rd Survivor.
Full slugs are more rare like 1/15. See it most often from Meyers, Singularity, Twins (obviously) and Blight.
In the event I saw full slug strategies 3 games in a row! and didn’t play Survivor again for a couple days. Tried one (1) Survivor game again and same thing. I don’t really know what to make of it.
-
Yes, they are. Bottom tier killer with a power that’s bugged. Truly one of the DbD killers of all time

If someone has what seems to be a well constructed argument that lines up with your own observations in other games, it is a debate worth exploring is it not?
From.points others have expressed as part of this discussion, this individual does seem to have a rather poor reputation that leads the validity of their point into question...
However the point he's making is not automatically wrong because of it, and I do agree with him that a common thread of a lot of failing asym games is the killer side tends to become very unrewarding to play and subject to bullying, drastically reducing their power in the supposed power role.
I do feel his point is relevant when we keep getting threads flooding the forums demanding basekit Unbreakable, despite how God awful a suggestion that is.
I do agree asyms die when one role feels like it exists to be bullied.
I also agree there is valid concern to be had about a basekit UB for survivors and how it could cause the Killer role to be miserable.I don’t think this video is well constructed tbh and at worst actively discredits the opinion. I understand not wanting to make a giant text wall but I think you alone could have made a better argument than him and have brought up much better discussion points in the comments.
-
I’ve heard this name a couple times now so I just checked one of his Twitch vods to see how he plays.
The first match I skip to he sees two Survivors, chases one off and then goes for a pick up on a pallet and to nobody’s surprise they get the pallet save. And then complains that’s why you should slug? Who would even pick that up knowing you saw another survivor seconds ago?
Genuinely curious why you listen to the opinions of people who don’t even have Killer basics down? Is he someone you would consider a “competitive Killer”?
-
Yes, as if survivor wasn’t terrible enough. If the Killer has 80+ ping then every pallet should be predropped and you’re probably getting hit at windows. DbD is the only game I know where having a poor internet connection is rewarding to only one side.
Anyone with 80+ ping should be put into lobbies for people with bad internet connection. -
I don’t experience this in my games like at all, killer or survivor. I rarely see survivors self-destruct on hook for no reason and almost every time they do it’s because they have like 7 hooks at 4 gens. I more commonly see Survivors DC when slugged.
Also, I saw like 5 Killers DC when they couldn’t tunnel someone out while doing the event tome. Does that mean there’s a Killer DC epidemic?

Yeah, lets remove "hug tech" because that is an exploit, but "crouch tech" is a "tech"
I enjoy facing Blight and never advocated for him losing hug tech though.
This is effectively a buff to these Killers without changing their skill expression and lowing survivor skill expression. That is not the kind of nerf/buff I like to see especially for high tiers.

Yeah a bug being counterplay i don't think is what they want to encourage. And it happened to even weaker killers like demo as well.
Okay and it still removed counterplay from two strong Killers? And it happened to one (1) other Killer which is Demo, not multiple.
