No some maps have some dark spots anyway which is nice as it creates areas where juking is more viable. Thats a better way of doing things imo than making the whole map harder to spot survivors in.
-
What you can do is stay playing Meg and level up who you want for what teachable perks you wish to make a build from and feed the bloodpoints you make into them.
After you have that level up the char you like the look of best as they are just skins.
Google the DBD wiki for each characters perks.
Meg adrenaline, sprint burst.
Jake iron will
Claudette self care, empathy
Dwight Bond
Nea balanced landing
David dead hard
Laurie Desisive strike
To name a few that are part of the meta's.
-
I think it's certainly something that could be done and quite possibly should. I'd be down for it personally.
My only reservation is if they are capable of implementing it without breaking other maps in the process.

Well I think nurse needs buffs then? I mean we can clearly see that she has the lowest kill rates on consoles by 10%. I think you should spread that message right here in the forums. You can say hi to miaasma :D Go on make the thread and you will see the reactions of people :) You can by the way see where plague is right?
What does balance have to do with money? Oh right good balance brings in more people who want to play the game, but you prefer to ignore the top players (those influencers as you call them) so they rather switch to other games and advertise those. Yeah that makes alot of sense.
Look at dota again, the minority, the pro teams make maybe 1-2% if even that of the entire playerbase, yet the game keeps rolling in money so valve can host multimillion dollar events (TI being the tournament with the biggest prizepool).
Please explain to me how you keep getting 3ks the entire time in your ranks and don't rank up? I mean i get double pips with perkless freddy(old)/wraith/huntress in those ranks. Does that mean they are OP and should be nerfed now? No it means that the people that I played against were freaking bad.
I have again no clue why you think that good balance will make people leave? I don't get why you insist that red ranks balance is bad for others? Tell me when you ask for advice in any field, do you rather take advice from somebody who has 1hr experience or maybe from people who spend thousands of hours on it and is considered top in his field?
Bad players and lower ranked players need advice and not the other way around. This has nothing to do with elitism but common sense.
Come on nurse is Hardly played on console due to well using a controller issue.
Also never bring the likes of dota into the conversation when talking about DBD balance they aren't comparable.
In a sense the person us right when it comes to DBD balance since the large majority of players aren't in or goid enough to be in red ranks
While balancing around the top players is how most games to it they also seperate the playerbase.
DBD puts a 5k hour god player versus a 20 hour new player once a month and that's not even talking about the matchmaking where the ranks are all over the place.
So for DBD to truly balance they would need to make is so the above can never happen as no one want to die every single game. You also have to take into account if it did happen how many killers would there be compared to survivors in the different brackets?
It's not as easy when you think when a game need a 4:1 ration where as with other games of equal sides it doesn't matter.
This is why instead if a one for all balancing they should add good rewards for ranking up to make it really worth it and then balance it within certain brackets split into may be 5 tiers. At least that way people want to get better and at red ranks the killer players can get buffed while the new 20-16 ranks stay as they are or the killer is weaker so its fairer as let's be honest killer seemed simple at those ranks even when new.
Each rank bracket killers can become stronger and red ranks then become the place it's balanced for the best on both sides.
-
You will be back.......they always come back.......always!
-
The largest numbers come from free weekends and they always have which is normal for any game but they are artificial spikes in numbers and can't be taken into any consideration as it's not part of the normal player base.
If you look at the stats it always goes up and down between the release of new dlc.
The numbers have been steadily growing as per the graph on steamdb where the picture below comes from. https://steamdb.info/app/381210/graphs/

It's part and parcel with online gaming unfortunately. You need to have a really thick skin at times and if not then it's really something not worth subjecting yourself too.
I think stopping playing is probably for the best as it's obviously gotten to the stage where enough is enough.
One thing to keep in mind is if it's in the game camping, tunnelling, being slugged, looping, certain perks, taking hits etc it's fair game. Personally not likening them is one thing but none of it is bad behaviour or toxic that only happens after a game in chats.
PVP games are notorious for having bad communities. It never used to be that way originally but over the years it became a way for people to troll others and act like they probably don't have the balls to in real life.
At the end if the say something derogatory I do feel a bit sorry for them as they must not get much satisfaction from real life. It's kind of sad and I blame a big part of it on how online gaming changed players.
When I grew up we played in a room with all our friends taking turns and having a laugh in between or having lan parties at friends houses. Now people sit alone in a room with a headset on. Times have changed and along with that so did some people's attitudes.
I hope you find a game that suits you better and this situation becomes a distant memory for you.
-
The ptb is not just about Freddy but other fixes and changes like the map rework as well.
So all characters and killers need tested with a variety of offerings, add-ons and perks.
-
Happy Birthday I wish you all the best 🍻🎂✨🎇🍾
-
It's either quick or the whole one minute with the latter normally coming down to one survivor.
Personally I ready up once the ping has stabilised for what that indicator is worth.
-
They typically dont ban for simple bugs like this.
They have banned for some but only if it was one which could basically hold the game hostage such as the safe points for survivors where a killer couldn't reach them or the legion add-ons which held them hostage within deep wounds taking forever to mend.
-
Body blocking for others being carried is intended gameplay.
They promote it with WGLF, points and there is an achievement for taking 250 hits near a hook. Not to mention it takes people off gens, makes them want to heal if they wish to keep doing it. It's almost like another objective over gens and totems.
To be fair with the amount of hooks around unless there are more than 2 it's normally a non issue and if there is well as soon as you see it drop them and go after another.

Cheaters will always find a crutch somehow, right? I give up. This forum is so survivor biased, why even try? Everytime someone mentions some kind of help for killers, the survivor clan attacks them, calls them a ######### player, tells them to get better, etc, etc.I'm out. ✌
They can't do it simple as that. What you are asking is never going to happen. It's not about bias but you can play that card if you want but all that does is actually show your own.
To try and enforce this sort of spying on a PC for one would be a death sentence for any game as they are asking you to allow them to scan all your running pc apps or ram for the software and then sending a a signal to close it down or disable the Mic in Windows.
Even anti cheat software wont go that far.
I don't think you realise what tou are asking for is also against the privacy laws in quite a few countries. EU for one is very big on antitrust situations and have fines the likes of Microsoft and Google for breaches.
-
Both the games you mentioned have different dev teams and they have a different vision is what they want the game to be.
Nothing says in DBD one has to be OP that comes from what some players want not the devs themselves.
If anything the devs just want a fun game with engaging chases along with mindgames.
Maybe the problem isn't the game its you refusing to accept it for what it is.

How is that? Because I'm asking them to quit nerfing killers into the ground? Go play legion then. Go play wraith. Go play pig. Go play leatherface. Tell me I'm wrong. Try any other killer in red rank besides spirt, nurse, or Billy and let me know how well you do trying to main them with all the nerfs. I'll wait..
Already done that thank you and I can do well enough.
Wraith had a buff and at red ranks he can be strong in the right hands. Pig was a nerf to traps when egc was active which was needed but her main power the ambush and stealth not the one which is designed to slow the game down before that point and not kill. Leatherface well he needs some love probably a rework to gibe him some map pressure but I can do well with him in red ranks. Legion is another story his problem is DW is not a punishment he needs a complete overhaul.
You see how I posted the above? It's not crying or calling one side out saying its unfair it's called feedback without being overly dramatic and acting like those you claim to be at fault.

Out of the 90% green, 30-40% don't understand how to play the game, play stupid, or don't wanna learn how to avoid the killer, die, and complain that the killer is to OP, and that's when the first nerfs come. Then it goes live, and those percentages grow even more. How is that fair balance?
You do know you are acting just like those survivors with this post.
-
Check out the steam global achievements for the proof.
The figures are exact though as only 25% have levelled a character to 25 so going by that 25% of killer players may have in reality reached rank 10 and 40% of survivors rank 10.
It's not exact as it depends on how long they play for overall even after reaching certain achievements.

Not entirely true for all games, but for DbD it certainly is.
Another issue with allowing transfers in a game with microtransactions is what we are seeing with Sony's reluctance to allow cross-play/progression with other platforms in their games. Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo/Apple etc. take a cut for everything purchased on their platform. None of the platform holders are particularly interested in customers buying cosmetics on one platform, and being able to use them on theirs. MS and Nintendo are pushing for this, because at the end of the day, there is a bigger chance of more purchases being made on their platforms from people spilling over from the PlayStation playerbase, whereas Sony risk losing a significant amount of money allowing this.
That's what I meant. I was speaking specifically about DBD when I mentioned no crossover saves on any platform 😉
-
No platform has crossover saves.
Your best bet is to get a new ps4 if you want to play as fair has little to do with it when it comes to business.
-
Take your list and Jake has no downsides if you don't sabo so imwith the meta perks atm nothing would change for them.
Then you have tapp with 15% speed in terror radius again no downsides outside it.
You have two characters where you aren't hindered in chases and normal play resumes.
If it affects the normal chase and objective why would someone use that character?
Like all the others said you just create meta characters.
-
If you or any family member have a console XBOX or PS4 you can plug one in and use one of those controllers to play with.
Apart from that a mouse is your best bet even a cheap $5 one as without one you really won't have the same control and will be highly disadvantaged with the camera.
-
Going by what the time is say 1.33s it seems someone never got the memo and left the code the same and just changed the value to 50% as 2÷1.5 is 1.33s.
So it's 50% increased recovery and not 50% reduction as it was meant to be.
-
DS has been changed to an anti tunnel perk.
It's use before punished someone for simply playing where as now it punishes them for going after you once unhooked.
Think about it this way. DS now gives you a second chance when you are unhooked as it makes the killer not want to risk it. So the perk even if you don't use it still does it's job if not better than before as you don't just get 5s of stun to try and get away you get 60s which is enough time to heal and do some of a gen/totem and even if slugged it's still a perk which gives a fairer chance to be picked up.
-
Personaly I would prefer them to give us a choice when they renew of chosing a random killer or survivor one.
At least that way we can chose what daily we want for the role we are playing at that time.

Considering you did use a mori in this instance, that is to be expected. A mori makes the match significantly easier and the emblems reflect that. We are currently looking into the edge cases surrounding the emblem and making adjustments as needed. Recently, we've pushed some changes to the survivor side of things to make it more consistent, and we would like to give killers the same treatment when we have a chance.
I understand the Mori part but what about killer that dominate due to less skilled survivors?
The one thing I do not like about the emblem pipping system is a lot of it is out of your own hands and subject to how the other side plays which it really should not be. The other aspect is it does not reward you for being much better than your opponents.
Pipping should always come down to how well you personally play and if you play well you should be more rewarded especially as a killer. If you kill them all easily surely you should want them to be ranked away from those players as to allow them to stay in that rank bracket keeps them playing agaisnt less skilled opponents.
Some of the emblems points are more about luck rather than skill which also needs addressed.
Personally I hope the new system removes emblems as there have been more complaints regarding this ranking system than any other previous ones.
The victory cube while bad as it meant camping almost guaranteed a pip at least it also rewarded good players for well being good at the game.

I asked for proof that these claims of Survivors gaining the same amount of BP as Killer in a given period are accurate, so I am open to evidence that changes my mind.
I can't remember these stats being stated this year and let's be honest stats change all the time. Without recent figures what they said a while ago means nothing today much like why they released the new stats.
There is also swf who wait for their friends to finish the match meaning they can't instantly jump into a new one. SWF over all group sizes make up around 44% of the userbase.

@DarkGGhost said:
@visionmaker Ok let's me put in same way that you can understand as survivor you get most of the good perks free and you have to lvl less character as killer you have to lvl every single killer that you buy with money or play the game around 30-40+ hours ( for one killer) and don't forget that you have to spend more BP in order to have add-ons to use that's mean the killer need more BP. Before you say that the killer has BBQ that's better than WGLF the reason is that the one needs money to get it and the other not. Yes, the game is paid to win as killer you need to put money in order to have a chance as survivors you don't.
@miaasma The thing is most of the good killer perks have been 2-3 ( at best) time in the shrine and don't forget you have to wait until one day the perk you want to show up in the shrine if you don't want to put money on the game. And the reason this thread exists is that as survivor right now you can make the same amount of BP per hour ( without the use of BBQ ) and the problem is the logic that devs use " Well one survivor must make the amount of BP as a killer perk game" which means that the survivors can make more BP per hour. Now the problem is not the BP but how they treat killer and survivors ( survivors get a free mechanic that help them in the game and killer get perks that may help but you need to pay for them ).
There are more survivors and you are being quite ignorant by ignoring the fact that even if they are just skins some like to play a variety of them which they nees to lvl up.
You are also forgetting the add-ons for each item which also have rarity values and cost just as much as killer add-ons.
WGLF may be free but it also doesn't have any advantage in game just bloodpoints while BBQ gives aura reading as a bonus.
Bbq has also been in the shrine twice and is one of the cheapest dlc's to purchase if you wish too. The fact that bbq is in the top perks used while WGLF isn't common tells you something.
This us v them mentality is what is hurting the game more than anything else. The devs cant do anything for either side without it being met with hate and ridicule.
-
There have been numerous threads about long que times and the answer being given is due to the disparity of killer players to survivor.
On a lot of those threads someone asked about more bloodpoints for survivors to lure more people to play that role.
They have to try something as right now survivors can get instant queues while some killer are waiting 5 to 15 minutes so with this change if it works out as killer we can also get more matches quicker which in turn gains them more blood points overall.
Another option of course is to buff survivors to lure players.
Which one would you prefer to happen?

how does the reduction in teleportation cooldown and the traps (that are visible and so the survivor have to just avoid), are an improvement over the previous dream world where you had a debuff on all action speeds + see aura of survivor?
Did you read the post?
I will simplify for you.
The game can go too fast and people want another objective.
One killers whole power is to slow everything down which hurts the possibility of another objective or will need to be nerfed if it happened making them even worse in the long run and more tedious to play as and versus.
I won't comment on the new design as I haven't tested him out yet and will give feedback when I have on what I think may be weak or strong.
-
One thing you have to keep in mind is this change has the possibility to level out the game so they could look at how to slow it down aka the gen rush for all.
Let's be honest his whole power was to slow the game down which hurts slowing it down overall for all killers.
You also have to think about the annoying rng part of his power if they get out quick or the tedium of it when you dont and why he wasn't used much or liked.
The potential this opens is there. We just need to see if anything becomes of it.

So 60 seconds of immunity after getting taken off the hook for all four Survivors if someone is the Obsession? Seems fair.
How in any way is it immunity? They can still be downed again! it's a choice you eat it or wait the timer out.

The chance of being the obsession for using an obsession perk is slim?
So Legion gets reworked to be nothing but CoUnTeRpLaY and DS gets reworked to make sure Killers have no CoUnTeRpLaY.
K, then.
DS has a counter play don't tunnel off the hook or slug them.
It may not be perfect especially at end game but it is there and a choice you make.
-
@Andreyu44 said:

That means that if you're the only DS user in a match you should be the obsession.
Increasing the chance doesn't mean that you're not gonna be the obsession most of the time,it actually means the opposite.
Its a bug,end of the story.
As pointed out it increases the chance but its not guaranteed much like if you play a map offering there is still a random factor.
The reason for this again as pointed out is so the killer does not know who has an obsession perk like DS if they are not running any.
Its an intended feature.
-
The game was never meant to have the information comms gives and it ruins what a huge amount of people enjoy from the game.
Why should those who play as it was intended be punished by changing how they enjoy the game?
Then there are regions like Europe where you can have 4 solo players who don't speak the same language. Should they be disadvantaged due to something not intended?
-

@SenzuDuck Because adapting bypasses the point of the nerf. Slower matches.
So we need another one since the first one didn't work properly.
To be fair most wanted it nerfed due to it giving an extra health state only and many actually asked for of healing to be only allowed once per trial.
Those not healing are doing exactly what those players asked for and when people like myself stated this would happen as healing slowed the game down so it should be something players find beneficial to do we got told things like we just wanted to keep the healing crutch.

How we can slow the game and try to have fun when the game end in 5-7 min.Second objective is out of the question, devs never create a good one.
This post makes no sense.
You want to slow the game down but it seems only with your idea which is a verymundane method, makes the game boring and become a true m1 simulator.
That's a truly bad idea for the games health and why most ask for another objective.
The devs my not have a great track record but that's due to the current secondary objectives like totems being optional, one which is mandatory will always yield different result.
-
It's PvP so it can be made seen as competative but the devs generally use the words fun and engaging and not competative.
No matter what someoneone wants to view it as it's a grind game. Ranks only real purpose is for matchmaking and so you feel like you are progressing towards something to hide the grind behind.
-
It would still mean seperating the player base and if one becomes more played then that choice is removed.
I am a purist and hate the notifications we already have in game. I dont think they are beneficial and take away any need to learn from players and why we see those in ranks they dont really deserve to be in. Take a perk like Make a Choice, it would be much stonger is the players didnt get told it was active and would mean we would have to always think it was, not knowing is what makes this game what it is imo.
Too much info as survivor means it truly does becomes an boring M1 simulator as you dont have to think anymore.
-
What I would like is a few ptb's for feedback on the changes rather than the normal one and done release we have now.
I think a major change like this could do with more testing over a larger userbase and give the time for feedback to be more considered.
-
The community is way to toxic for any of that.
How many would scream down the Mic at someone not doing what they want? Play music? Just be overall toxic swearing idiots. It's bad enough when people have chat after a match not to mention what they write on profiles.
While notifications are another way they can also be spammed by trolls and it ruins immersion, many players like the idea of not knowing and why they bought the game which is evident with over 54% playing solo, why remove that? The only way it would work is by way of another mode but that happening doesn't seem likely as it would really be about seperating SWF.
-
Yeah right now they want a Steam id64 when using the report section of the forum but they could maybe have a match id instead to reference it and get the info from that when sending in the report.
I also doubt it's something they have planned for the release of them as you said they prob want to just get them up and running. I was just wondering if they are considering that option.
-
The problem with reducing her time for missed skill checks is for one there is a valid reason if the pig comes close again and you need to leave so can promotes a bit of tunneling.
Secondly it doesnt affect any competent survivors only the newer ones so it wont actually buff her in the right ways.
I would prefer them to work on her stealth and abush potential, maybe increase her crouch speed in and out and movement when crouched as that is her main power, the bear traps are just a time waster and not really designed to get a guaranteed kill, it should be every so often that happens.
2 and 3 I agree with.
-
I have a feeling you are going for the record on most downvotes in a set time period or more than anyone has ever managed to achieve as yet with posts like this.
-
With the new system if one leaves or gets disconnected from you it will make everyone go back to the lobby.
There is nothing to say that they dodged as there are other issues that cause someone to not connect properly.
-
The non heal meta is a by product of the healing nerf, it's what people asked for one health state only through SC or healing others, now players do it it's a problem.
Be careful what you wish for as it doesn't always work out as intended.
Punishing someone for making a choice a lot of players asked for isn't the best idea and its another perk buff which would widen the gap between swf and solo as solo would suffer more as they can't meet up to heal as easy.
Thanatobia may be a better perk if was kept at the currrent stats but on top of that it also debuffed the use of perks which aid you when injured so there is no benefit to them at all.
Adding more gen time with a perk isn't really the answer we need as for one it becomes highly monotomous sitting pressing M1 for longer and secondly it removes the possibility of another true objective coming to the game as it would need looked at again if that happened.
-
Some sounds could do with a slight tweak for survivor but as killer it is alot better and takes me back to what DBD was before the sound bugs were introduced.
I think the sounds are far better now.

Less than half of the people who bought Stanely Parable can hit the space bar to get the "You can't Jump" achievement.
Roughly 25% of the people who bought the game never even played it.
Using achievements for statistics isn't exactly accurate.
I was about to say something similar as only 26% of all DBD owners raised a character to lvl 25.
-
I think the better question is which is more frustrating.
Both are easy in the right hands and both are hard in the wrong hands it's a matter of perspective and how good you are at the game.
What it comes down too a lot of the time is how good you are compared to how good you think you are.
For me killer is harder as I have no down time and need to put out constant pressure which is more stressful so in turn I make more mistakes. Where as survivor I can relax in between chases and idly sit on a gen pressing M1watching and listening so my stress levels go down and I play better.
-
The funniest thing about the whole scenario that sprung to mind is people asked for more stealth play for survivors and they actually started to make more stealth killers after that point.
The devs do take feedback and ideas like some that made it into the game. Much like a killer that could jump pallets and through windows but it does show we should always be careful what we wish for.
Sometimes a logical change means things can change in other ways to compensate. Just a thought.

You can never have a balanced rank system as long as SWF is allowed to exist, unless voice chat is added to the game so that advantage is removed
Adding voice chat won't do anything but up the toxicity, randoms simply don't coordinate as well as swf can or synergise perks not to mention it hurts those without a mic or simply bought the game who don't want that option and the majority are solo with no chat afterall.
Can you honestly ever see the devs removing SWF from the normal play mode? They have never talked about it it is always buffing solo to try and close the gap.
At this stage it may as well be conceded that the game will never be balanced as some would like it.
