RPD. Easily the single worst map ever concieved in DbD.
Playing Billy, Huntress, or Deathslinger? Your power is rendered all but none-functional because of all the walls and tight corners.
Playing any killer that relies on basic attacks? You're at the mercy of the long corridors and plentiful god pallets.
Playing a killer that's good at map control? Your only viable option is to lock down a 3-gen and slow down the pace of the game to a crawl.
It's the only map that I never have fun no matter what role I'm playing, or if I win or lose. RPD is a fun vacuum. And it's ######### baffling that the "Re-work" it received did absolutely nothing to fix it.
Same thing as the bad ham rework. “Ok team here’s how we’re going to rework it, I’m going to change nothing and duplicate the map 5 fking times”

it depends on the character honestly...

I want freddy to say a snarky remark every time I hit a snare or fake pallet. And something cool when he teleports to my gen

Perhaps you'd think the game is more fair if Survivors simply started on hooks.
Actually an interesting idea for a game startup animation where the survivors free themselves from a hook?

Not really, but it wasn't a straight upgrade either. It didn't last as long, and it was guaranteed, so killers were more likely to count it out and just smack you the second it ended. Plus, it precluded the use of Off the Record, which was supposed to be DS's replacement.
Also, defending pre 6.1 DS? That perk was so insanely broken.
Outside of the EGC usage, DS would only hit a killer if they were actually tunnelling. In all other scenarios, it was useless. It was hard countered by just not tunnelling, and not pressing spacebar. In all the time that I played against pre-6.1 DS, I only got hit with it once, and it was an extremely obvious bait that I learned from, and I never got hit by it again.
For the record, I'm not opposed to the EGC trim at all, but the -40% stun duration was an entirely undeserved nerf that crippled the perk's functionality.
“DS would only hit a killer if they were actually tunneling” tell that to my 1000 or so games where a survivor forced me to down them while their team rushed the open exit gate, forcing me to pick up to try and secure a kill only for ds to hit. Also, you expect me to just not tunnel in EGC? I’m not going to just not hit them because “oh i don't wanna tunnel” im going to secure my kill instead of just letting them go free for no reason

Current Undying is a joke thought. Especially with the totem spawns.
No one is using hex perks anymore unless its a build with Plaything. Simply because Hex perks and spawns are so bad. Old Undying was a solution to that. At least partly.
Tbh hexes as a whole are stupid with these totem spots, I feel as thought it would be better if all hexes got reworked and turned into normal perks. Make them less powerful but remove the ability to outright disable an entire perk. Example: plaything instead of having to be cleansed now has a timer (60,70,80 seconds maybe?) where the survivor is oblivious. Not as strong because it’s only active for a limited amount of time but isn't a complete roulette if it’s going to be gone in 3 minutes or 30 seconds.
-
They should keep emps but only have a limited number of emps per game, like Wesker or nemi

As a player whos been here from day one I know exactly where they've went wrong and I'll gladly explain my stance, first off DBD is still a great game and that's why we're all still here after all these years, BUT this game could've been so much more and when the devs deviated from making new game modes and secondary objectives they basically doubled down on the cat mouse looping instead and in turn shrunk all the maps down and instead of adding more to the game to make it better for both sides they settled on the cat mouse looping game and got into a situation where certain maps can feel too survivor sided and certain killer powers feel like they take zero braincells to play as, ALL of this points back to them doubling down on this small sandbox style instead of expanding and giving killers insanely cool extra abilities with bigger maps or different objectives for other ways to survive or having more ways to fight back as survivor and now this game is dull compared to the potential it had and is a hold m1 and W simulator while running in circles , instead of a horror experience we get a see who can humiliate the other side experience for some laughs.

Yea but you could also Sabo all those traps back then and they didn't respawn along with the hooks, hed be stuck as a m1 killer with no power and he'd be forced to have iron grasp and agitation to get you to the basement from anywhere on the map
That isint about fairness it’s about what putting traps under survivors meant, everyone agrees it was unbalanced as hell in 2017

@Beatricks said:
I think the last straw was the big meta shake-up, although not necessarily in the way that one would think.
COH and DH were ridiculous perks and absolutely needed the nerfing. The two problem were that
A) One of the healthiest perks in the game, DS (deactivating after the exit gates are powered) got completely obliterated and there was no tool given for survivors to combat tunneling, which is the most effective way to win and certain killers are REALLY good at it. Mind you, this was after the devs said that they want to encourage other playstyles apart from camping and tunneling. Absolutely ridiculous.
B) There was no overall balancing of maps and Killers, all of which over the past couple of years were balanced around a de facto DH meta, where all survivors were pretty much expected to have 3 health states. That was then removed to 2 health states, but the balance that slowly formed in the previous years was based off of a now defunct system, resulting in killrates skyrocketing and SoloQ escape rates plummeting to single digit percents for the first time. Don't forget, killers tunneled a little less because DS was too much of a risk! So you went from 3 healthstates per survivor and tunneling being risky, to 2 health states per survivor and tunneling being the easiest it has ever been.
Meanwhile the devs are still releasing some laughably bad maps with oversaturation of pallets, leading to M1 killers suffering, despite the fact that playing Killer has never been easier (with the exception of the short timeframe where COB/Eruption/PR/OC was so insufferably bad, that even BHVR of all people realized it needed to go ASAP).
The game desperately needs a huge balance overhaul for ALL killers and ALL maps. Or it's just going to continue bleeding out players since SoloQ is dead and buried and Killer can be almost as miserable unless you are playing Blight, Nurse, Wesker, Spirit. Or you just go up against a SoloQ team that will melt even against no perks and addons and no tunneling because SBMM doesn't work, has never worked and will never work as long as it is based off hockey.

Not sure what you mean by "one shots" being removed, do you mean Exposed effects? I can't think of many of those that have been removed.
Ditto with Trapper, do you mean placing the traps directly under hooks...? I don't remember anything about Trapper being able to place traps under survivors, but maybe I just didn't notice that changing.
Flashlights and medkits have not been removed, that's very much an exaggeration. Flashlight saves actually got easier a little while back and haven't been nerfed at all, they only removed some power interactions and also locker saves, the latter of which because they were unbalanced. As for medkits, they were literally just balanced, so that they're only "pretty good" instead of "overwhelmingly powerful".
I don't think those perks are all meant to deal with body blocking, to be fair. Mad Grit is, and you could argue Starstruck is, but Iron Grasp and Agitation are both geared more towards being able to carry further to get to further away hooks; I've been running them in my Scourge Hook build for that reason. Even if they were all for the same thing, though, wouldn't it be better for the game to have more variety in which tools you want to bring for that purpose? They all work somewhat differently, meaning your build can be more nuanced and customisable. I think that's more fun, personally.
Back in 2017 trapper could place traps right under hooks so as soon as they got saved they got trapped

There are only very few killers in this game that you can play and enjoy.
When was the last time you played Trapper, Freddy, Myers, Clown, Pig, Trickster, Twins, Artist, Dregde, Hillbilly or Pinhead? The moment you queue up with any of them you either give up the match or sweat so hard that it takes years of your life. And these are only a few examples.
Most killers feel pretty bad to play right now, so it doesn't surprise me to see more killers that can deal with the current meta and less of those that can't.
all m1 killers with like 2 or 3 exceptions are completely unplayable and like 3/4 of he m2 killers are way to weak to be viable.
in other words your right

Wesker have direct mechanic to counter him with First Aid Sprays, yet people still consider him fun to play as and strong enough despite the first aid sprays.
The solution isn't to remove EMPs, but to change them to make them feel less annoying for Singularity to play against as well as just making Singularity feel more fluent to play as overall.
Wesker ability also gives hinderance, has limited uses that CANNOT be regenerated, his ability directly hurst people, allows for massive distance without set up, his power is just way better

I don't like :
- The fact that it's just one licence. Future content ?
- The proximity voice chat system (it was a chore to remove voice chat in F13H... each time u play).
- Progression system.
- Animations looks goofy and unpolished.
Maybe I'll try it if it's on ps plus one day. But I really hope that game does better than friday, predator and evil dead. Asymetric horror games need to have great titles.
For DBD, i like :
- The licences.
- The music (especially in the lobby. They did a great job).
I dont' like :
- Really slow at fixing things for a game this big (bugs, core issue). Not enough health patches.
- Matchmaking that doesn't work (it's often stomped or be stomped as a solo queue or killer)
- Stale after 7 years (we need another game mode)
- Too much bugs, some are in a game for a long time like the wesker bug who affect controler player
- Unpolished content at release (twins, first resident evil chapter, skull merchant...)
- No love for controller player (some killers are unplayable)
- No love for console player (need more options in the settings, better framerate on old devices)
- Some perk that doesn't performs the same way on systems (Boil over doesn't effect console and pc player the same way...)
- No testing before release (things like skull merchant 3gen was obvious even on paper... or chapters full of bugs like twins, nemesis...)
- No love for solo queue (sometimes I think the devs considered it as food to feed killer's kill rates for their stats)
- No love for M1 killer.
- Some killers have way too similar power (dredge / sadako - Demorgogon / Alien...)
- The survivors are just skins and you can take the same survivors as other players in a lobby which is dumb.
- Too much survivors
- Too much perks that do nothing on both side.
- The toxicity for the playerbase
- Unfair strategies (camping, tunneling, slugging, 1 hour 3 gen, on the survivor side, exploiting things... like circle of healing or boil over in rpd etc)
- The map offerings
- The game became too competitive for my taste (thanks to the streamer and their try hard challenges)
- Very good roster, but you only see the same killers over and over.
- Too much resident evil (I had seven wesker in the row recently, i stop playing for several days)
- Sometimes it's cheater paradise.
It's a love / hate relationship with DBD.

Could you elaborate what you mean?
I’m not saying just because a Killer is on the weaker end, that they should stay there. I’m also not saying that every Killer should be top tier and able to consistently deal with strong SWF (e.g Blight, Nurse), but just because a Killer doesn’t have the same strength of tools as higher tier killers doesn’t necessarily mean they NEED to be buffed to that level.
If we’re talking about add-on buffs, yeah, certain lower tier Killers certainly need add-on buffs to bring them up a bit. Pyramid Head comes to mind. He’s a solid Killer but suffers from generally poor add-on selection. Speaking of, Freddie’s add-ons aren’t amazing either.
I’m making a joke that there’s a good chance the devs will nerf something like freddy brush, the only Addon that’s actually good and nobody’s asking to be nerfed, they have a history of nerfing perks and killers and items that nobody asked to be nerfed :) examples:the random barrage of pig nerfs, the random billy rework. ect

I'll reiterate what I've said in threads past, because I truly believe it to be the problem:
People cry out for more balance but the reality is, the more we "balance" a game that was inherently based on an imbalanced premise to begin with, the more we're going to see matches where one side dominates the minute the other makes a single mistake. And this leads to more people being frustrated and less fun in the game itself.
This is the direct result of people caring too much about "balance" in a game that was fun BECAUSE of all the ridiculous things both sides could do. OP perks/mechanics/add-ons/etc in the past were definitely "unbalanced", but matches felt like they had a lot more stakes to them, or that they could change at any time, because either side could use these to swing the match in their favor.
I agree to a point, some of the old ######### was so broken it was insane (insta blinds, pallet vacuum, insta heals, infinites) I think most old perk mechanics should come back but some stuff was just too far (like killer being able to stand in front of a hook and survivors being physically unable to save them)
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Because META.
Every Killer is viable, but not every Killer is viable against top rated SWF groups. That’s why you see certain Killers so much, because they can actually compete at the highest levels.
Lower Killers are totally fine, and COULD be buffed up to that level, but with the way some Killers’ kits work it would be miserable. Nothing wrong with some Killers having more pulled back powers it means they aren’t literal nightmares to deal with at high level play. Look at pig for example, buff her RBT’s? She destroys solo queue even more than she normally does. Longer mending, longer Frenzy, less hits for a feral frenzy down on legion? Even bigger nightmare in solo queue.
The gap between Solo queue and strong SWF on comms is what makes or breaks Killer balance. We basically need some Killers to be strong and some to be average to create a potentially more even playing field for the player base as a whole.
Nah wdym? Have you seen Freddy paintbrush? It’s actually useful! That goes competently against his character we need it nerfed now!
-
