even if it’s a 1k, that doesn’t make it fair. why should that survibor be punished for the killer being trash? i’m not saying remove noed. i’m saying look into it.
But your example will never be fair. If you are able to run a killer for 5 gens, then there is a very big skill difference, and you should not have been playing vs a killer that way below your skill level in the first place. You dont want it fair, you just want it unfair for someone else.

What's that supposed to mean? lol
You often see complains in the forums that the devs favor one side other the others, but both killer and survivor mains claim that its the opposite side of which side they are playing.
-
Well, the main point (at least to me, when i play killer) is that i didn´t use moris for a long time. But since the devs announced that they will "look into them" i expect them to be completly useless if changed, at least if the devs follow some of the suggestions on the forum.
So, since i know that, i use a mori in every game i play as killer, because i want to use them up as long as they are usefull, instead of having an item i use next to never, like it happened to me with the instaheal items. Positive effect: i can handle swf if they stumble into my game. And no, i dont camp (mostly), but if you cant wait for a safe unhook i will hooktunnel mori the guy you just doomed by unhooking him in my face.
On the same note, i also used up all my keys, because they are up to a change too.

"playing smart." Isn't a thing, its child's play. We call camping puppy guarding but on a more serious level. Camping isn't a strat, its just saying "I suck so I'll resort to underhanded things to win." I ran into so many killers back then who didn't have to camp to win, they were on the ball and those were the ones that had me on the edge of my feet. Now people just camp because they can't get a 4k or getting a kill to even feel successful, its really pathetic.
Like just now, I got out of match with a Plague and she wasn't camping, tunneling or anything she got two kills and applied pressure. A feng min and I escaped but you don't need to camp, tunnel or slug to get proper kills.

Sounds like another entitled killer who supports making the game as boring, bleak, bland and just annoying as possible. Nice to know.
There is just one thing that is not clear to me: Whats your authority in this? Where you appointed, or voted as a judge for this things?
If not, why should everyone respect or even care your opinion, when you clearly not respect or care for those that differs from yours?

Fair point actually. The last person would just hide which would get annoying. I still don't think anyone deserves to escape in a scenario where no gens were completed but eh I guess that's reason enough. Just another demonstration of bad game design I suppose :/
One could argue that if you get 3 kills with no gen done, the game was unbalanced from the begining, because you got matched with players way below your skill level. So you got an unfairly easy match and still are sour about one escaping?
-
Well, killing survivors is an objective too. If you cant stay hidden stop blaming the other side for you just being bad at the game.
-
@Aven_Fallen said:
If you were Red Rank long ago, you should not have a problem being in Red Ranks currently. It just became easier for Killer, so if you were in Red Ranks months or years ago, you will most likely do fine now as well.
while you are right, your point has nothing to do with the topic.
It might be easier for killers, but that still doesnt mean its balanced, just that it is less unbalanced.
you know, 7 is closer to 10 than 5 is, yet 7 is not equal 10. And Killer got from 5 to 7, but 10 still needs to be achived.
-
Oh, i wasnt aware he can still see the aura of his cages. I thought that was changed to. Also, i am talking about the complains, and i read a lot of demands that ds, bt and others should work on cages too.
Every killer that changes the chase is considered having "no counterplay", because some survivor think that chases are the only thing the game should resolve around, and that they should be able to take a killer 1v1 in chases, even in a 4v1 game.
-
Is there any evidence you can only be matched with people that have crossplay off?
The way i think it works is that people are in the matchmaking queue until they get a full game, then it opens a lobby.
However, people with crossplay leave the queue so fast, that you don´t get to match with them, while you stay in the queue until you find enough matching player (which have to be in front of the queue).
I might be wrong, but that was my impression (or a solution of how i think it could be easily implemented)
So you would like to change that matchmaking to have ppl on your plattform match with you as a priority, even if it means they get longer queue times if for example no killer is found.
That leads to a lot of priority-questions. For the ones with crossplay on, what should have priority (at the moment its shorter matchmaking times) : Own plattfrom over game balance? Aka would you either play on your own plattform in an imbalanced match where the killer is either way above or below your skill level? Or would you prefer a balanced match, even if matched with other plattforms?
Its not a trivial matter (but i know its somewhat contradicted by not having a propper matchmaking anyway).
Your "request" comes with a lot of decission making, and in the end a lot of people might still prefer the current solution.
-
Because they are the only element offered to balance the power of swf.

- Looping is what seperates the good and bad players, holding W, hiding in a corners and holding m1 on a gen is not skillful in the slightest
- calling killers by their lore names is kinda weird other than mikey billy and bubba
But what about hiding in front of the killer? What about being chased by the killer, and you turn a corner and he can´t find you anymore. Is that skillful?
This mindset is absolutly bad, because people focusing too much on that, and thus some killers that counter looping suddenly have "no counterplay" even if lots of survivors can handle them just fine. Look at Mrs. "nocounterplay" Spirit that has a killrate 2,5% over the median.
And every week the forums are full of complains about her, because they is good at that one aspect of the game.
The thing that is soo bad is that many survivors revolve the game about one aspekt, and then want to be equal 1v1 with the killer in that aspect, even if its a 4v1 game.
-
yes i do, but i do safe unhooks if possible anyway, and that means the killer wont tunnel, because he is not near the hook.
-
Solo Queue is very dependent on the teammates you get. Sometime you have the first hook suicider, sometimes you get a great team.
IF the ranking system were better, it would all pay of, but sadly, i dont think the devs have a clue how to do it properly, thats why it is still "looked into".
-
Yes, but voice chat breaks the game too, and people use outer programs for that.
People use stretched resolution to see more of the game when they should.
You can streamsnipe your survivors if they stream.
To me, its all basicly cheating. You try to see information the game itself doesn´t want you to see, no matter if you get that info due to brightend filters, stretched resolution, or voice com, or watching their stream.
I know the devs can´t and won´t do anything about it, but the more common this gets, the less i play this game, for i dispite running in circles. If hidding is not an option anymore, i am out of the game.
-
while i agree with most points, i do hook suicide.
When? When i dont care for my fellow survivors. That usually mean they are no teamplayers. I had games where i found hex perks (or a chest), the other survivor fast vaulted the window to alert the killer, and cleanse the totem/loot the chest while the killer chases me.
I had lots of survivors trying to get rid of the killer by coming to me when i am injured (that made me stop using aftercare, it happend several times), i had survivors not healing me, so the killer would chose me as an easy target if he came by.
I had people bodyblocking me so the killer would hit me, instead of them, in addition to just pointing to my hiding place.
Can you tell me why i should want to play with such teammates?
-
Well, the map reworks removed a lot of looping opportunities for survivors, keeping chases shorter than they used to be.
However, to balance that out, you need to buff the stealth option for survivors. And thats what the brightness does.
Would you prefer survivors can neither run nor hide?
-
Again, its not the teabagging, its the thought behind that. you play with people who WANT to insult you.
-
Tunneling and camping is a strategy, and often employed by killers that are outplayed otherwise by the survivors. It basicly roots in the bad matchmaking.
Teabagging is a gesture invented and used to humiliate already beaten opponents, and was adepted to dbd as a taunt and an insult.
Insulting and humiliating your fellow player for playing the other side of your game is a very bad thing in my eyes. It doesnt even have game value. Its not only disgusting as a player, but as a human being, because to me, an insult is an insult, because thats the intent behind it, no matter if its sexist, racist or teabagging. I know that a lot of people might disagree, but i belive that the intent of an insult is what matters, and the intent is to emotionaly hurt the other person.
-
Basicly, the developer prioritize queue times over game balance, especially if it comes to swf.
First, if you search for a match, you search within a certain rank range. IF no match is found within that range within a certain time, the rank range is extended, and you search again. So, if you are a red rank survivor, and no red rank killers are availible, you also search the green ranks, and lastly, all ranks.
SWF is a different think too, since 3 rank 1 can hook up with a rank20 (that was a thing for a long time, because it would search for a killer based on the average rank, that then could be bullied by the superior surivvors). I know matchmaking was changed several time, so i dont know what metric is used to match SWF at the moment. Could still/again be the average.
-
To be fair, after the rework, i can at least see the auras on the reworked maps. Still no scratch marks, but at least i dont have to search for gens as killer.
The problem with reshade is, that it does not just affect auras or scratch marks, but everything. It even makes survivors brighter, and thus easier to find. Which is a bad thing, because not every survivor want to play "choo-choo we are running in circles". Stealth should be an option, because thats a part the game was designed around.
-
I think that summery is wrong. I play mostly solo survivor, and i still escape 3/4 of my games, and survivor is way more fun than killer, even though i play both sides.
-
I see people so often not crawling and think why. There is a hooked survivor, the killer camping, and the one downed stays by the hook, so noone can come in to save either of them. If he crawls away, the killer have to choose instead of getting both for the price of one.
Also, usually i recover, but if i suspect the killer will come back before i recovered, i will crawl away and try to hide. Even if the killer gets me, he wastes a little more time than me just recovering on the ground where he left me.

You could try... but at least that person has a few more attempts to get away from you. Rather than being tunneled and get the Mori right away. In general, the other Survivors aren't going to want you let you do that either, since they know every Hook puts them closer to a Mori. Thus it encourages safer unhooks. All in all, it is an improvement, but sure there will always be people who tunnel whether it is wise or not.
Well, if you are looking for a way to make tunneling unattractive, i do have a proposal, that even works with moris.
Give the survivors gen penaltys for being hooked, but a boost if someone dies.
Like, a hooked survivor gets a 25% speed penalty for doing gens for the first hook, and 10% for the second hook(state). If he dies, his remaining gen speed is added to the other survivors. Thus, it becomes more attractice to get the first hook on anyone instead of tunneling, and even the second hook before killing someone.
Yes, gen speed might have to be modifyed, but i think that could be a way to keep the game balanced and make tunneling unattactive.
Those numbers are just an example, and no proposal.

@Moundshroud said:
I don't see the problem with the Mori as it stands, but I also don't have a problem if they tweak them. I suggested they use the same logic they applied to the Keys, but tie it to Hooks rather than Generators:
4 Hooks = Unlocks 1 Mori
5 Hooks = Unlocks 2 Mori
6 Hooks = Unlocks 3 Mori
7 Hooks = Unlocks 4 Mori
*And you don't have to have been hooked once to get a Mori if one is unlocked. This change would mean there is no value in tunneling off the first Hook, and guarantee at least three more Hooks than the current Mori setup if you wanted to Mori everyone in the group. Of course this is just for the Ebony Memento Mori. I see any reason to change the other two at all.
But that mean you just tunnel the first guy = 3 hooks, hook another one = 4 hooks, just mori the 3rd, , and camp the second to death, then race the last for the hatch and mori him too (if only one survivor is left, hatch appears and he can use the key, so killer should be always able to mori the last one, right?). Doesn´t really solve anything i think.
If i play killer, i use moris almost every game. I leveled my killers using excess survivor bloodpoints, and have plenty of moris, all good perks, but not enough experience as a killer. Yet, i aways am paired against ppl way above my skill level, and swf in more than half of my games.
And since they want to change moris anyway, i can use them up as long as they are still strong.
-
Not because reasons, because one reason. SWF. Yeah, its kinda fair if both sides have overpowered things you can´t do anything about. Keys are fine in my opinion, even needed.
-
i run self care, and iron will, because i cant loop, but i know how to juke the killer, and iron will is needed. Self care, because random survivors will not always help you.
The other 2 perks differ. When dc´s are rampant (due to no penalty or something) i run left behind and plunderers instinct. i get a key every 2-4 games, and if you get one while one survivor dcs or kills himself on first hook, you still have a fighting chance. left behind had me finding the hatch before the killer, or even with the killer on my tails.
Otherwise i run either kindred or bound, and lithe/botany knowledge/dead hard/head on, depending on my mood.

Unless your'e going to give yourself up as a kill, I would prefer you to just get out.
Also just to be clear I have never seen a survivor give themself up.
I have seen several ppl doing that, especially if the killer got steamrolled. I saw it both as survivor and killer. But i never did it myself.

Well Scott Jund is a killer main and he thinks its a good thing.
And Otz and scott seem to both agree that spirit needs more counterplay. (and its not only them)
So its more like instead of "almost everybody" its more like 'people with empathy'
Well, i would say they are high profile players. Usually, the argument is you should not balance around the top 1%, so why is it different this time?
-
Why do many survivors dc if the killer choose the game?
-
The thing is, in high ranks, a lot of survivors know how to loop. While some killers ignore looping (and therefore are always called out for a nerf), good loopers simply can waste too much time for the killer to stand any chance of winning. In that case, securing the kill you got can be the better alternative. In addition, a lot of survivors that are being camped suicide or dc on hook, so it doesnt take 2x 60 seconds to die, but more like 30.
So basicly, it is the better alternative, depending on your opponents and the killer you play, and the chances survivors help you with that strategie is very high.
Also, if survivors get out of their way to rescue ppl from a camper, they are actually stupid. Sacrificing the hooked one (who should struggle to the end) while the rest genrushes would basicly lead to a loss and a boring game for the killer. If all survivor did that, camping would be a lot less attracitve than it is right now.
-
Also, one of them run plunderers instinct, which not only shows auras of chests, but also increase the chance for a higher rarity of the item you get. I run it often, and i get a key every 2-4 games. And no, the tally screen only shows items brought into the game, not found in chests.
As the hatch was next to the hook, i think they just found it there with the key in hand.
-
Well, i had a game with a 3 man swf where i got a key, and they knew. The killer found me, and i got him to chase me for 4 gens. When he finally got me, he hooked me and left. The 3 swf came to my hook and let me die there, took my key and got out.
their reason: i didnt work on a gen with them, and they wanted my key.
-
I would just say play killer if it is that easy. I wonder how fast your opinion will change then.
-
You can win these games with tunneling and mori them after the first hook. Since devs want to "look into" moris and keys anyway, there is no need to keep them.
-
Funnily, the toxicity gets less if you play toxic. Tunnel, camp, and mori, and they wont be as toxic as they are when they are winning.
-
The thing is teabagging was invented (although in other games than this) to be toxic.
To me, if i play killer and a survivor teabaggs, i think he is trying to morse code me a message. But my morse code reading isn´t the best, i usually read "can you please tunnel and camp me and my team?", and being a teamplayer at hearth, i fullfill their wishes.
-
First of, i dont have to change your mind, because you have no say in what perks i run, and i don´t care what perks you run.
But as a mindgame, say we are in a game together as 4 solo, and i dont run self care.
It happens often enough, that your fellow teammates don´t heal you, because they want to pressure gens instead. (also, if the killer comes, hehe most likly go for the injured one, giving these survivors an easy out). That means, i wont be the one saving you from the hook by a camping killer, because i wouldn´t save you, i would just trade places. The other guys are to busy doing the gens, they wont come either. I hope you enjoyed dying on your first hook because i couldn´t heal myself.
-
-
@kcwolf1975 said:
Is solo queue really that bad or is SWF just that strong.....
Its actually both. Solo is bad not because the other survivors are bad (even when they are), but because you can´t relay on them. You cant be certain they do unhooks, or gens, or anything really.
On the other hand, most swf play with voice chat, and that gives a big advantage against the killer, making the swf games usually very chilled, yet boring.
-
Because moris are in the game to balance other aspects, like keys and swf.
Fix the swf advantage, and moris wont be needed, and can change as well.
-
Seperate solo and swf queue, and balance both modes seperatly so both give you a fair matchup, whatever side you play as.

In normal circumstances I would DC but I guess punishing players for not waiting 10 minutes without being able to do anything is very healthy for the game.
The best part was when we later arrived the stream of the killer, who only made fun of our english grammar and got so salty against us when we just asked why slugging for so much time was even fun for him, ending on banning us and his chat calling us toxic survivors and that I should have just not got down (?????)
Edit: is funny how you can report survivors if they hide so much that you cant find them when not repairing, but you cant report killers for making you waste 10 minutes unable to do anything because they dont want you to die too soon.
Let me ask you, are you a hacker then? Because if your death timer is 10 minutes long, something is way of. So either you are not telling the truth, and all of your story has to be doubted, or something else happened you are not telling us.

That is the most backwards logic I have ever read, yeah just ignore the people have spend thousands of hours of their lives playing your game, they don't know any better
Sorry, but your logic is flawed. Would you let prison inmates make the rules for prisons, because they have more experience with prisons than most other people? Would you let big coprorations make laws about illigal buisness practices, because they are involed in most of them?
Well, the grandmother of my wife is over 100 years old, should she rule our country then? i mean, she had spend way more time living than most other people, so she know about life, politics, economics and everything, right?
Doing something from a single point of view doesnt make you an expert on the whole subject.

Problem is that, yes it is a team game, but it feels like I specifically am being pushed because 3 other people are incompetent.
All I want for NoED are two conditions, and maybe a safety clause. Change it so it's only after 5 generators complete, and shows Exposed immediately. If they want to add protection for those that did bones, that'd be nice but that's probably wishful thinking.
But that is a matchmaking issue, not an issue of the perk.
