  • I don"t see that as often any more. It has happened me a couple times a few years ago. I would be playing somewhere between 30-60ms and then I would randomly just teleport with 500ms +. Nothing really changing on my end so possibly just a network hiccup.

  • Players should not be punished for this. While I do agree that a VPN player or someone who intentionally raises their ping sucks, there isn't really a way to detect that. Just because some people are fortunate enough to get really good ping doesn't make those people more important then those that are less fortunate.

  • I mean do we really want the chain to have a hitbox the size of a semi like huntress hatchets.

  • The only thing I don't like is the need to escape. Maybe if it was base bp dependent it would be a little less frustrating. I like the idea of having to do this 4 times to get the pass. And the bp goal could be like 7k or something that is easily obtainable each match if you are actually playing instead of throwing.

I thought it was interesting how you can see exactly when my love for DBD died off. Anyone leave the game and come back?

Bro. Why you got a screenshot of my compendium.

  • I wish they would bring back perks that gave bonus bp in certain categories as well as old bbq and wglf. This coming from someone who has been playing since 2018 as well. I just like seeing big points at the end of the match :)

  • I've seen 100 during the event in the event lobbies as well as some weird times through out the day in normal lobbies. I also don't know how the bonus works entirely. There have been times where the bonus is higher on survivor for me but it would take a minute + for survivor but only a couple of seconds for killer queue.

  • Also need an opacity slider for when a survivor gets hooked and gen explosions

  • So people get punished for playing in a group. All this will cause it's killers dodging lobbies with that tag. so that 4 man, 3 man, 2 duos will all be subjected to longer times to get into a match as well as killers that think they have to sweat like their life depends on it. Not every swf group is this try hard group of people. Honestly, the majority of them are not even good at the game. This is nowhere close to the biggest issue in the game.

….Wait why would the best killer need to camp till second stage instead of actually hindering the rest of the survivors? What the heck kinda play is that?

Pretty sure they are talking about tournament play. Which the game is not designed around.

  • First, slugging and tunneling are strategies that are allowed within the game. There is no rules saying you can't do this to any extent. However it's something that is completely unfun to go against and sometimes even play. Sure, tunneling at that infamous max high mmr might be necessary. Doing that at lower mmr isn't necessary. Usually means there is a skill issue somewhere (more likeley in multiple places), and there are 4 voices against 1.

Overall. Play how you want to play. Just understand most people will be frustrated with you if you try to play in a sweaty manner on either side.

Why should someone be punished for not having the greatest internet.

Because this is an online game and having a decent internet connection is a prerequisite to playing.

So they should not be allowed to play the game? They paid for the game too. I would say most people who have a high ping can't really do much about it. Most of those people also are not trying to use their ping maliciously.

Sometimes the game just randomly has a lag spike as well. I've seen myself and others playing at 70 then it just randomly spikes to 400-1000 and fall back shortly after. Do you think that those people should get disconnected when that happens.

  • Why should someone be punished for not having the greatest internet. Your point of 150 being to high and that the game shouldn't even let them play is disgusting. I understand being frustrated about a high ping player, but you have to understand that not everyone can get the greatest internet or live close to a server. I'm happy you have great ping. Just don't get mad when you see the average ping range of 50-150.

  • This to me is a non issue. This is a game and needs to have something to work towards. And like you said the economy is pretty much non existent, so it's pretty easy to get what you want for a match. And if you can't, all you need to do is play a couple matches and you should have enough blood points to get that item in your blood Web.

With event offerings/items my best advice is to just focus on the survivors and killers you play the most. For example, there isn't really a reason to try and get the dowsing rods from this event on the pig if you never intend on playing her during the event. DBD has gotten much better about giving event offerings over the past years with them being pretty much gurrented to show up at higher level blood webs.

Overall, this would be fine. I would much rather the devs focus on more pressing issues. Like where is the swap rework :,(.

I might have been too hasty to answer this poll. You do mean that she should get a fatigue after getting stunned if she was was pallet stunned in her power while chain blinking, right? That was how I interpreted the question. In that case, I believe she should eat both the stun and the fatigue because the stun is a form of skill expression on the survivor's part, and Nurse is strong enough that having a reason to fear pallets wouldn't make her unduly weak.

If you just mean getting a fatigue after a stun when she's casually walking around, then of course the answer is no. She's not using her power, so she shouldn't get the weakness period associated with the power's use.

Yes this is what I am talking about. Sorry I meant to edit that in but got a little busy 😅

  • hmm interesting. I dont see this being used in many games but i can see it being used as a mini whispers if you can see the tv screen. Also I would be interested to know if this changes based on what quality setting you have the game set to.

  • i dont. I've been ignoring them ever since there were more then 8 pages of them

  • I have all but maybe 5 survivors p3. The rest are p2 and I'm waiting for the anniversary to p3 them so I can stack up those cakes easier.

  • I mean you can try. I doubt what that guy said would result in any sort of ban tho even if the reports were looked at in depth. It's pretty mild.

  • I'm pretty sure they just want to keep the build variety changing

  • Vommy mommy dlc when

  • I'm sure there will be cakes of some sort.

  • I hope it's not the killer and survivor that we're leaked

  • Sorry they didn't do all the gens in 4 mins I guess. I wouldn't say it breaks the game out just allows for certain builds to work better

  • Yes we all hate it. But that person would rather move on to there next game then sit on the hook for the rest of that game. They have the right to choose how they want to play and not everyone takes the game as serious as others.

Really though as a killer you should easily be able to recall how many times you hooked someone. There's only four survivors.

Could the same argument not be made for survivors? I mean, killers arguably have more to keep track of than survivors. So why do survivors need it so badly?

I think part of the issue was that if someone got saved last second before struggle you wouldn't know if they went second stage or not.

And yeah @Lynxx, it is pretty easy to forget what hook state survivors are on while playing killer if you are playing rather chill. I have several games where I have been surprised someone was on death hook without knowing each night I play.

You are going through a lot of effort to defend something that only has a negative impact on the game. No good comes from flashlight macros. None.

Again never said I was defending macro usage.

  • @Laluzi said:

@selflessnea It's incredibly easy to tell someone is using a macro. Are you kidding me? A player can only manually smash a key or mouse a couple of times per second - maybe five if they're tapping their index finger, a bit more if they're fluttering their wrist. An automated program does this much more rapidly. When you get that flat buzz that sounds like your computer's hard drive is overheating, someone is using a macro. It is physically impossible for someone to do that manually.

It's so easy to fix this. Contrary to what you're saying, a sensitivity cap that prevents the flashlight from being activated dozens of times per second is a simple implement, and it doesn't have to be at a level that would prevent clicking or quick adjustments to a flashlight save. Or you could just disable or drain the flashlight once it's been shown to be activating at a rate that can't be natural input. I'm an amateur coder and I could throw this together; it's not a complex problem. Again, humans can't spam click on a level of milliseconds.

The only purpose macros serve is BM. The only reason macros even exist is because they're unpleasant and it's an easy way to get negative reactions. They are not good for the game, there is no actual reason to preserve them and I can't really picture any motive to want to defend their usage beyond not wanting to lose a toy. If I'm generous, I could assume you're afraid they'll damage the actual use of flashlights, but it really would not be difficult to stop script clicking in a way that wouldn't affect human input.

And yes, noises can be a problem beyond "boo hoo bad feel get over it." Some people are prone to migraines over grating and repetitive auditory stimulation - I believe this is part of why they're changing Ghostface's chase music.

Some mice have the ability to free spin the wheel. So no, you can not tell someone is using a macro. It is physically possible for someone to do that manually. I never once said macros were good for the game today. I never said I had an issue with them implementing a click cap in a time frame. I stated that OP idea of putting a 0.5 to 1 sec buffer between clicks would be terrible.

I wouldn't go so far to say this action ( with or with out a macro) is solely used for BM though. Granted most of the time it is. It can also be used as a distraction/annoyance to try and deter the killer from going after a certain person.

Unfortunately yes, there is a small group of people affected by certain sounds. And if this really is an issue for them then maybe there should be an option to turn down or turn off certain SFX like some games do with VFX. But unfortunately, IMO, most people complaining about this issue are only doing so on the basis that it frustrated them that one match.

It needs to be known that I don't care if they change this. It has no bearing on how I play, or how anyone I play with plays. I just want it done in a way that doesn't remove the ability to stagger a flashlight save, bait the killer, or remove the ability to continuously chain blind.

  • @Laluzi said:

It creates an incredibly obnoxious loud noise that can't be stopped save by removing the macro user from the game. Flashlight blinds serve a tactical purpose, flashlight macros are just to try and grate on other players.

There's no reason for them to exist.

Its a non issue issue. There is no way for this to be fixed. You also cant prove someone is using a macro for this. There is no way to remove the click spam from the game (exept to give it a very small cooldown which wouldn't solve the issue you are having with this.

    1. It's often used in very toxic scenarios, as in those squads that seek to ruin Killer matches
    2. It can be a health concern to certain people. I don't want to type all that out so that discussion is already on my profile
    3. A very short cooldown isn't going to completely ruin flashlight positioning, if you're half decent at it

But i'm not surprised since it's a nea pfp

    1. Just because it's BM doesn't make it toxic. Using it has no effect on the match unless it gets under your skin. Get over it.
    2. If it really is a health concern then the issue isn't with the macro. The macro only makes a repetitive sound if that is the issue then they shouldn't be playing the game since noise can be made with no ill intent through normal gameplay.
    3. Yeah A very very short cooldown isn't as it allows a skilled player who knows they messed up the timing to re adjust it just slightly. I stated that in previous response to the OP.

But you probably wouldn't understand anything since you assume things based on people PFP.

What do you mean by you guys. The only reason I was even for it was the free 8k Shards. I could care less about the bubba masks. I didn't even notice half the time. But good on you for bringing up something that has nothing to do with this discussion.

I mean, there are people who have legitimate issues, such as photosensitivity... that's why the white flashlights has been changed to red/

There is not photosensitivity issues with flashlight macro. It only makes a sound.

There is no way to get around this issue since flashlights are in the game. You dont even need a macro to do this. It can be done by simply binding the use item to scroll wheel.

You call it waste of time. I call it more healthy game and less toxic tools for the people to have.

How do you even begin to think that this is toxic. That's like saying flashlight blinds are toxic. But yes making it so they can't macro it as fast (not the 0.5 to 1 sec you suggested) might make the game a little bit healthier.

  • Why? Getting rid of something that doesn't break the game in any way and only cause an annoyance to some seems like a waste of time.

Puting a cool down on it would be dumb since flashlight saves can have the timing re adjusted with a single click. They could maybe get away with a small delay much smaller then the one you suggested. Making it take more charges wouldn't make since either because the charges should only be consumed when the light is on.

Also scroll wheel is a thing so it doesn't even have to be a macro

I disagree with that. Honestly it is super rare to get BM'd in an FPS game.

Like I think in thousands of Apex Legends games I got BM'd literally once, maybe twice?

Rust I was barely BM'd. Call of duty I was usually in party chat and there was basically no BM, nobody has time to teabag in those games.

    Starcraft 2 I was never BM'd once. BF 2042 I was never BM'd once.

League I would say was the closest in terms of toxicity but even then it was typically your own team raging and not the opponents, which I still consider less toxic than DBD because that happens in your own team chat and is not usually broadcast as BM to the opposing team

DBD is like the only game I can think of where you explicitly can have toooons of time to BM and the lobbies are small enough the opponent can really take it personally. And the BM is like, constant. It's gotta be the most toxic game I can think of

I wouldn't say it's rare in FPS games. It's just not happening to you since the lobbies are usually bigger and it might also be spread out amongst a bunch of different players rather then one. It just seems more prevalent in DBD because in a since it's a 1v1 when interacting with the other side.

Also BM =/= toxic. I would go as far to say that DBD isn't even that toxic at all. People that can't handle any sort of BM will always call it toxic. The actions preformed mid game (camping, tunneling, slugging, clicking, t bagging, notification spam) are not toxic and people need to be able to move on past that.

  • I mean this is the same as most if not all pvp communities. You can't change how people feel about certain aspects

  • No, sounds awful. If this happens certain perks will need to be nerfed into the ground

  • How would you catch them if they have the power of God and anime on there side

  • There is a possibility with certain perks that this could be possible. Boon dark theory (2%), hope (7%), and blood pact (7%) would make them 1% faster then a 4.6 killer. There is also the med kit add on as well.

  • Personally I wouldn't care if they hid the names. I would be slightly saddened by the fact that now when I get matched with someone again at late night ques we wouldn't to be hyped about it. On that note I do think survivors should still see there teammates names so pregame chat ,while rare, can be simple.

As for stream sniping, unfortunately it is a necessary evil if you want to promote yourself while gaming. While I don't agree with stream sniping it's going to happen despite streaming site TOS. If you want to make it less likely to be stream sniped don't put ttv in your name. If you do put ttv in your name then you are advertising hey come watch me.

  • One thing that might help make the game more bearable is if you were to play with a friend. Even if it is survivor or killer just having someone to vent with and talk crap with makes every thing better. They might also keep you humble and call you out on any BS you claim is happening.

  • Idk about killer but survivor que today was terrible for night ques (EST). I can no longer go to the bathroom make dinner and take a shower between a match. How am I supposed to do chores when the que is only 30 sec.

  • No. The DC penalty needs to stay. If you are mad enough to rage quit then you need to take a break anyways. You will go in the next match with the same feeling and it would just spiral from there. Play the game out. Learn from your mistakes. And get better

  • @Raccoon said:

Amusing, particularly the last two sentences, but not unexpected around these parts.

    Thanks for the laugh.

    K :D

  • Damn. Now I'm going to forget to equip 2 more offerings.

  • Overall it's boring and a waste of time. I hate it when killers end up doing this and have no idea where the last survivor is. The only time I view it as acceptable is when the killer knows the general location of the other survivor ( either seeing them before the down or by using infectious) and they are not half way across the map.

Pick up the 3rd survivor put them on the hook and just move on to the next match. You are drawing out the game an extra 2+ minutes just for the chance at a 4k which you would probably have gotten anyway while still hooking. If the last survivor gets hatch who the crap cares. If it's that much of a blow to your ego then maybe you need to re-evaluate your life choices.

  • I dont think it matters and that people loom into this sort of thing way to much. If they remove it then whatever. It's only going to change that 1 game out of 100.

Plus if it is removed you don't get to see the stupid names some people have.

  • Maybe play the other characters more. All of them are viable in pubs.

  • Lethal since it allows you to find a person at the beginning and also if played properly allows you to force the chase near the gens that are being worked on.

  • Got removed after previous match so I didn't know.
