  • Only one? :p

I'd say Demogorgon. I've had some very intense matches against them. Probably my favorite killer to verse.

    Also he's a cutie <3

  • So you go to the home page of the forums and scroll down until you see this:

    Thanks for telling me!

Just got a notification for an update.

Not sure if this is exclusive to PS4. I've been watching some PC streamers today playing killer, and they've been waiting for over 10 minutes to get a match. For example, Scorpionz got so sick of it he has switched to playing Hunt Showdown.

    Hmm, odd.

I probably will throw the towel in as well, if it doesn't find me a match in the next 10 minutes. I've got better things to do.

A lot of people got the “patch update required” which is about 13GB so it may take sometime for people to download and play it first thing in the morning.

Are you talking about the patch from last week?

I haven't had issues like this earlier this week or last week. Or is there supposed to be another patch today? I checked my game on updates, but it said it was up to date.

If anything, I found matches faster than ever.

  • This might be another fun build to run if you can get it to work. I'm pretty sure Monto made a video about it recently, that's what gave me the idea. I like running breakout :p

I was able to prevent 3 hooks and save my mettle of man until 1 gen remaining.

    We all got out!

I do feel a bit sorry for the Clown though.

  • I've recently ran it for the tome challenge and I'd say it can be pretty decent, definitely as a solo survivor because you don't know what pallets your team has wasted.

The only drawback that makes me not want to use it so often is that fake pallets by Freddy/Doctor also light up as "real" with this perk.

LOL no. Very very very bad idea.

    1) Your a killer main, basically asking for a mechanic that makes it so survivor don't have to stop doing gens to save someone. MASSIVE 4head moment.

    2) Because I totally trust this game to not spawn me right next to the killer thus negating any benefits and giving them a free chance to STILL tunnel me to death.

    3) Going back to number 1, that's going to be boring AF. There is no such thing as altruism, or game awareness. Just sit on a gen all game no need to care about anything else.

    4) This would require an entire rework of the game's core mechanics. Everything changes if you do this. Perks, bloodpoints, emblems, game flow, everything. Might as well just ask BHVR to make a new game at this point. It would be a lot faster, easier, and cheaper.

IMHO both Hide or Die and Last Year (along with F13) are very gimmicky based games, meaning there is little to no skill involved and the designs are very generic. It's all just a bunch of silly stuff thrown on top of each other, hobbled together to make a "game". DBD is very skill based and competitive, but it can also be chill and fun.

You bring up some good points actually.

I think I changed my mind.

I already brought up that for this to work core mechanics, perks etc. would need to change, but I didn't really think about the consequences that would emerge from altruism being gutted like this.

Gens would get done much faster because survivors wouldn't have to worry about their hooked teammate.

  • Probably Self Care.

It feels like such a waste of time and knowing myself, I'd play very boldly, take hits for everyone and then just self care about a million times a match

    Also I prefer inner strength.

  • Yes, yes I do.

As long as I own the character and have decent perks on them.

Today I joined a lobby and saw 2 Kate's wearing the rift cosmetics from tome 2, so I put on the same cosmetics.

Unfortunately 1 of us didn't make it out alive :(

  • Ngl, I actually would like that.

It gives survivors a chance to "reset" without having some random person farm you and get you killed. This would also give a solution to camping/tunneling.

I can only speak for myself, but I'd gladly give up perks like DS and BT for a respawn.

But what do you mean with a different goal?

Edit: I can't see it happening though. It'd require a lot of changes in dbd's core, perks and things like that. But my final answer would still be yes.

  • Tbf I don't really have any expectations for killers apart from "Please give me a chance to play" and don't use a mori in the first few minutes of a match.

It's just unfun, spawning near the killer, getting chainsawed, farmed and then morid less than 2 minutes into a match. Had something similar happen to me today, twice.

When I play killer, I do try to play as "fair" as possible (no camping/tunneling until endgame) as long as you don't have the intention of frustrating me.

  • Fell for it too. First time I played on that map since it got reworked and I trapped myself there. Oof

Not too fond of it, but eh. It most likely will be a one time thing getting trapped there, unless totems spawn there.

I don't really like the idea of a no way out kind of thing, because if the killer (or a fellow survivor) wants, he can just go afk there and trap the survivor who's cleansing a totem.

If the path was wider, sure. That'd be fine.

  • I completed it Saturday because I had quite some free time.

I definitely agree that there's too long of a wait between tomes, but if they released all of them at once, a lot of people would already be at tier 30-40 within the first few weeks.

Also now that I've completed the challenges, it takes AGES to tier up now. Played a whole afternoon, 1 tier up -_-

  • I've mostly been using that one as well because I want to experiment with other perks than DS, but it's too good to not run DS in the locker build.

I've been running some altruistic builds on the side, but I haven't really found a great one yet. Currently experimenting with Solidarity and Autodidact.

  • I usually run the following 2 builds:

  • All the yes to a better tutorial system!

I'd like to think I'm a decent survivor, got hundreds of hours on survivor alone and watched many content creators that know the game through and through, but I still struggle with certain aspects, mostly the flashlight saves.

If only there was a way you could practice them without having to form a KYF lobby with at least 2 others willing to waste their time teaching you something.

It's pretty ridiculous that a rank 1 survivor (me), who's supposed to be the best of the best completely fails every flashlight save...

  • An hour?! Wow that's rough.

I really underestimated how well survivors can hide when I played Huntress recently.

The map was Dead Dawg Saloon. 2 of the survivors were Blendettes.

I manage to kill the 2 other survivors with only 1 gen left. Went patrolling and found noone.

After 5 minutes I decided to check all the bushes around the map (because all gens got regressed and at that point I wanted the game to end).

It took me a good 15 minutes or so to find 1 of the Claudettes. She was in fact hiding in a bush around the edge of the map... Luckily hatch was next to the hook where I hooked Claudette, so I atleast could start the 2 minute timer.

Is this on PS4? I did exact same thing and this person went out of their way to send me a friend request. And put a really toxic message that was sent with it. 🙄

Yes it is. I even blocked off my friend requests for it because afaik you can't report messages from friend requests.

I don't get it, people will do whatever is necessary to make you feel bad :/

  • Because people feel the need to gloat when they're in power.

When survivors are at the exit, barely anything can touch them. Kind of like the occasional Ghostface teabagging your dying character for 2 minutes to then mori you a second before bleeding out.

Both sides have ways to try to show dominance.

Also it's a pvp game, people are mean and sore winners/losers.

  • I haven't had that happen to me before, I think.

But I did get hit by the invisible skill checks bug today. Very fun. Much skill.

    /s

  • Happens to me as well from time to time. Today I had a rainbow of ranks verse against me.

Though they were most likely swf because they all had the same offerings and were very coordinated.

Usually I manage well enough, but there are instances where I definitely should not have matched against certain players.

My most embarassing match was against 4 rank 1's as a rank 16 killer that tried out the Doctor for their first time. All of them got out in minutes...

Second match as doctor I get another bunch of red ranks. They were what most would call a "bully squad". That match got me fuming (because I don't have any good perks unlocked while I face 4 people with meta perks and more experience...), still got a 3k because they were overly altruistic.

  • I found Plague's the easiest to get, actually. Hehe

Corrupt Intervention can do wonders for me early game.

But I imagine that's because I'm pretty low rank as killer. Still, that doesn't stop the game from matching me with red and purple ranks though >.>

  • Since I play on console, I'd say all the killers that require good aim/very precise aim (Deathslinger, Huntress and Nurse).

So far I managed to get the adepts for Spirit, Legion and Plague because they are the characters I'm most interested in killer wise.

Also killers like Bubba, Clown and Legion I would imagine have a tough time to get their adepts because they get mauled already in the red ranks.

  • A Nurse that manages to get blinks perfectly right on console always leaves me with a mouth wide open.

One of my friends mained Nurse, so I somewhat know of the struggles, lol.

Also I've gained some respect for Huntresses after having to play her for the tome challenge. My aim sucks!

Also it's pretty sad that I still have yet to pull off a flashlight save considering I have hundreds of hours on survivor. So whenever a random teammate does it, I'm impressed as well.

There should really be a practice mode for survivors and killers. The tutorial is not nearly enough >.>

  • Before I privated my account, I did get and send pleasant messages.

There are a few that apologized for not being able to save me, the GG's after a long game and I got 1 voice message where my teammate expressed how happy he was having me as a teammate.

I always am positive back to messages like this. I've sent some GG's and thank you's here and there.

Can't say I've never teabagged before. I've done it either due to peer pressure (if I play swf) or because either me or a teammate got tunneled the entire game and make it out alive somehow.

Also teabagging along with a Ghostface is the most fun thing in the game :D

Sometimes I crouch, uncrouch twice to say thank you or hello (or just to see Bunny Feng's ears flop), but now that I think of it, that might be seen as teabagging.

    Eh.

P.S. if the Claudette from a few games ago reads this, I'm sorry if it looked like I was throwing/BM'ing, but my skill checks were invisible and so I "missed" everything. (Pretty good job so far. Yes, I made a bug report)

Yeah, now whenever I face a Trapper, ima play super carefully lol.

    Hehe.

I always try to be careful against Trapper and Hag, but it almost never works out XP

They're by far my least favorite killers to verse, because I'm always the one getting stuck in every trap or am the one setting everything off. :D

  • It might've been my fault... (jk)

There's 1 game I remember that might've angered the opposing Trapper.

Basically the Trapper was having troubles catching other survivors and thus gens went flying.

All gens got popped and the totem in front of me lits up. I start cleansing and the moment it breaks, I get hit. Got instadowned nonetheless... (pretty good job so far).

I get hooked in the basement and he starts trapping the entire shack. I kobe, made him grab me, used DS, shimmered by all the traps and ran through the gate while a Dwight was twerking in the background.

    Anyway...

Might be a personal vendetta aginst Kates? When I play Nea I get hit on hook, mori'd off first hook and get dropped in front of the hatch and get it closed on my face even though I usually go out of my way to make sure I'm not playing toxic.

  • Apart from the empty spaces and the over the top grind, I'm not that bothered by DBD's battlepass. I've seen way worse in another game I play.

The grind is imo the biggest issue. Even if I put all my free time into it I don't think I could even complete it.

Currently I'm grinding hard, because I desperately want the Kate and Legion cosmetics. If I get far enough into the pass I might buy it.

I've completed all the challenges already (of this level) and on top of that played a bunch of other matches, yet I'm only at tier 15.

Last time I got to tier 65, I think? And I even used nearly all of the obtainable auric cells to skip a bunch of levels.

It just sucks that you're expected to play this game every day for a couple of hours, to complete the pass.

I hope I get to tier 70 before the pass ends.

  • I've changed up my privacy settings to disallow random players from messaging me, got tired of all the toxic messages I got from killers and survivors. ^^

Got called a sweatbag for not getting downed when the GF exposed me and I got put on a "revenge list" by a salty survivor because I killed him. :/
