Rank 1.
All killers.
The core balance of the game is pretty good, sure, some killers need "slight" buffs to become viable. Viable means able to win even against the highest tier of survivors. And that with skill. And Moris. And keys. All other things are pretty okay.
Yes, Moris, Keys and a little bit more things in this game is very frustrating to go against

I don't like playing killer and only do it for bloodpoints
long time ago I also play mostly survivor but now it turns back, and from time to time I play it again

@Scourge said:
if that counts i use to be at rank one
I play/played nurse, or huntress
I think many problems the game has in regards to balance comes from the fact that only a few select things are really strong. For example you are hard to find a killer on highrank that dosn't use Ruin because without ruin a game is over in 5 minutes or less.
yes, too many things in this game is overused

I don't think they really can fix the ranking system, because if they do make the system more stringent, high rank queue times would be ridiculously long. Look at Overwatch, look at Apex, hell look at Fortnite. It'd be even worse in DbD.
Ranking in an asymmetrical game is already a tough concept. I 100% think that removing rank reset and/or providing a reason to rank up (other than getting better teammates as a solo survivor) needs to happen.
I remember that after the plague came out where they raised the requirements for survivors very much (then lowered them) I waited for the match for r1 for about half an hour, so it wouldn't be a good thing if it came back again
-
@oxygen said:
I play whatever I feel like and if I play enough in a given month I end up at rank 1 eventually in my experience. You don't actually have to win/pip any more consistently than more than 50% of the time to get there with enough time invested anyway.
Do I consistently stay there? Nah, I bounce all over the red ranks and go up and down, down and up. But that's fine as I would personally uninstall the game before a week had passed if I played for maximal consistency or consciously went out of my way to chase rank/pips.
"Red Ranks" and rank 1 itself have a massive variance of skill. You'll find everything from genuinely incredible players to people that just sort of... ended up there through luck or who knows what, and everything inbetween.
yes getting r1 on killer is not impossible thing to do
and the range of players skill, just like the truth, this is the real beauty of high rank, sometimes you get noobs that I eat with 4/5 generators and sometimes you find a nice SWF where you can really have a nice fight, mindgames ect. like playing chess
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Pretty much all of them. I hate playing doc and hag though.
Depends on what day you ask me.
Rank reset needs to go and the ranking system needs to be updated. Then we can talk about balance. As it stands, I don't feel like the majority of rank 1 players are anywhere close to being equally skilled, and thus the balancing of the game is all over the place. I dunno why I'm the same rank as some of the top players of the game when I clearly shouldn't be. Same goes for some of the survivors I face.
I play only those killers who survivors for some reasons call broken
but how do you want to change the rank system, since it still selects players with such big differences in skills that it's a shame to talk
somehow I am not a very good killer but I have 1 rank, and I also often get survivors who have no idea what's going on in this game
-
@Mister_xD said:
i stopped playing for rank a while ago, though stil managed to get rank 2 last season.
honestly, i mostly play whoever i find to be fun (a lot of Trapper lately), though i feel like there needs to be done something about the gen times. like, currently i'm ~rank 6 and just had a game where they did 4 gens in under 3 minutes, which is just really frustrating (it was a big map (Suffocation Pot, so also some good amounts of loops) so it took me longer to get from A to B plus i've been in a chase with someone. took down 3 pallets and hooked him when the 4th gen popped)
I also don't play to have rank, my only objective is just to stomp survivor's to ruin thier experience xD
yea not many killers can apply pressure so games are way too fast, low mobility, no tools to break survivor's defense ect. that's major issue with game after this game started
-

Nurse
Wasted potential, so far.
Balance is pretty bad for certain items and add ons and genrush is definitely real. You are just "doing the objective" but the obj is too fast. Your fault for not doing bones and being hit by NOED when I'm Clown.
Nurse imo still have greatest killing potental in game so idk.
Genrush is just doing objective, is like complaining about killer want to kill survivors,
Noed is great perk imo, games needs secondary objective and totems is one of them.
Yea OP stuff best addons items broke game that's true

Yep. Been there. Before EGC, had a solo Claudette hide as last survivor with 1 gen left for 40m. Patrolled gens, checked lockers and basement. No Claudette. Went and made a sandwich, checked my emails etc. When I came back, I hear the last gen finally pop. I go to the gen. The hatch is open right next to it, yet she tried SNEAKING AWAY again just to grief me some more. Smacked her to make her leave the game but holy sh*t dude
damn, so close
-
@[Deleted User] said:
It can definitely be more fun, people are trying to have a good time and make plays, are more altruistic, etc. No hiding in bushes for 10m not doing gens and waiting for the other to die. I'd rather play swf over immersed solos any day.
I also remember the game when I on played Lery's with Nurse against group of random players and 2 of them died and 2 guys just sit in corner or locker and i can't find anyone, this took i think more than half hour, i even want to report this players bc this was so f boring lmao

except PBB she is balanced, so idk what's going on?

Thats not the problem. Nurse is fine. her addon change was needed but the base power nurse was not needed. The difference between nurse and spirit is thats Nurse in mindgameable and spirit is not. if she (spirit) has headphones your dead.
i agree, nurse addons change was needed, like exta blink or omega was just too much like now PBB, nurse imo is fine now, i think even they should just a little bit buff her addons, like very rare/ultra rare exhaustion addon but that's only my thought's. spirit even when i play against her with iron will she still have tons of tracking, she hear you interaction with gens, totems, your running, see your footsteps and listen even your breathing if she has good headphones

Did they immediately dc when they found out you were Nurse or left after getting wrecked?
as you can see I have some points, I also knocked them down, and they just DC, game was over

So...fair and balanced matchmaking
-
I play both sides and i really think base nurse is fine, addons just give her free win without skill.

As a Nurse main, I've gone against survivors more than capable of wasting my time. Playing against a Nurse requires skills greater than running left or right around objects. Map knowledge, movement, blink distance to time, and reading your opponent's moves. Skills that reflect true skill. Not this merry go round with other killers.
You survivor need to realize the power role is not on the killer side.
I'm agree with this but imo i'm not survivor main

Tru3 claims all the time Nurse has counterplay, so using one of his own videos to claim she DOESNT is ironic.
Ironic is tru saying "nurse have counterplay" when he play against her on lerys( hardest map for nurses) or when shes just bad, bc most nurses even on r1 pc they are really bad

Im so done with guys like you really... "Killer OP" ok nurse with omega or 5 blinks or Gengrab spirit are the only op stuff but that's it killers like Myers,Trapper,Billy,etc. Are weak against people that know what too do. Gens are too quick chases are too long and items or addons like key or insta heal are just a joke. Even with OP addons the killers are Trash.
but I am in favor of removing / nerfing all the things you mentioned like extra blink/range addons/keys/instaheals/beads bc you see this stuff in every single match, bc no one want to play weak chracter but seeing this all of the time is just boring as hell

You beat someone in Overwatch? You're a smurf abusing a busted hero!
You beat someone in a fighting game? You're a spammer or something abusing a nobrain high tier character!
You beat someone in DBD? You're just in SWF / Playing a strong killer (with strong add-ons)!
Conclusion? My defeat doesn't count because you didn't win "properly", so you didn't really win 😊
Ignore scrub whining and play for yourself, it's not gonna change. Far too convenient to blame some element outside of their control than accepting the fact that they lost. If it's in the game or otherwise endorsed by the devs and working as intended don't blame players for using it, if they have to complain about it then it should be directed at the game's design and balance, not players.
I do not blame players, I blame the existence of things that have an advantage over others that make the rest do not make sense to play

we would be totally wrong in making that assumption. we would be much closer to being accurate if we assumed all players have absolutely no skill.. just saying..
i'm at 5k hours in game right now and i still improve my game all of the time.. we can't assume people that have a few hundred or a few thousand hours in game have learned everything there is to know about a game that has no skill cap..
if players had learned even a little bit about the game there would be much higher escape statistics than there are, especially at lower ranks, but most people tend to play for the solo survival to ensure to themselves that they're "still the best"
I still think there are people who can't improve their skills because of perfection

I used to main Myers, but he is very prone to genrush so I am not having fun where I cannot do anything in a match when facing good survivors. I also main Hag and survivors just die. Hag is nice because she can skip a lot of survivor's BS same as Nurse, but her fatigue is what pushes me away from her which is a shame, because every time I make a mistake as the Nurse it's on me - I cannot blame the game for it. Fact is this game can be frustrating for both sides and when you face toxic players it can be even more frustrating. The best part for me however is playing with friends, we can talk, goof around, have fun together - the game is always in the background. I have 2800h in DBD and despite the fact the game has many problems I will still play it. There are also other games if you need a break.
i need a break? wait a minute, I have heard it somewhere "play something else" someone has already said that lmao

@chieftaco said:
i'm not sure i understand what you mean..
some characters are stronger than others, sure, but ultimately they still take a good player controlling them and a combination of skill and luck to pull off..
i made this as a joke last night but i think it applies here. here is a truncated game where a nurse wanted to put me down.. she wasn't a new nurse, rank 8, full loadout, nice addons, no problem catching others..
i ran around a rock for 5 full minutes with no exhaustion perks, no crutch perks period, yet my team was of players lower ranked than myself and the killer still somehow had them all dead at the end (not included in clip but i do have evidence in my possession).
your killer and survivor experience depends on the people who get in your game and how they choose to play it out, much more than their particular skill levels, hours, or strengths of characters.
just because players have maxed out all of their perks and have played a lot is literally no indication of skill whatsoever, and most of them have absolutely no skill other than what you see in the thumbnail below. it's the nature of the game. all we can do is hope these people at some point motivate themselves to get better at the game..
What if we assume that all players have skills at such a level that we are practically unable to improve them anymore, because they are close to perfection?

To be fair you do not have to take anything to have a chance at winning. Besides what is a win in DBD? Escape? You can escape and not pip. Kills? I killed 4 people many times and stil did not pip? So did I win or lose? I'm confused. My only gripe with the game right now is that it is riddled with bugs and I am forced to play against 3 killers over and over and over again at high ranks. That is what destroys this game for me - lack of variety despite the fact it has so many DLCs.
It should be that you don't need anything to have a chance to win, that's exactly how the Nurse works, Marth proved it by playing the Iron Nurse, on the first ranks, and before nerf exhaustion or DS so yeah

how you feel when you play killer
this is a hard question I was asked because i'm mostly play only nurse so yea, when i'm on this side of game is fun, only what i don't like is lery's or haddonfiled but when in game are 27 maps chances to get this bad maps are 7.4% so really small, rest are fine and idk in last month mayby i just have 2x 2 man escape rest're 3k or 4k.

I do not mind bringing a perk to counter something - if I don't it's on me. Fact is Spine Chill and IW are both good and underrated perks not only for Nurse or Spirit but all killers from the roster. I myself care about BPs when I play, the grind in the game is massive and survivors are not getting much BPS so WGLF is a must have perk for me. I also do not like running meta perks, because I want to have fun with my builds.
it's not about whether someone has fun or not, whether someone plays full-meta or not, it's about that because of game design you are forced to take specific things in order to be able to play the game in general and have some chance, this is problem.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
Remember you are still playing against people and people do mistakes and a lot of them. Sure good Spirits will be hard to beat but combination of IW, Spine Chill will do wonders against the Spirit or even the Nurse. If Spirit player struggles to find you - she is wasting a lot of time and if your team will be doing gens all will be fine. I myself do not like to be bottlenecked to using these 2 perks, because of 2 most powerful killer, but on hight ranks some perks are mandatory. Also do not take this game so seriously - at the end of the day it's just a casual game. Play for fun, goof around and you'll be surprised how fun your matches can be. Playing to win is fine but it will wear you out pretty quickly.
it is obvious, we would have to be robots not to commit them. just as the killers used to say about it when it was old DS, survivors said "just bring Enduring lul",killers said it was a bad game design when you need a perk to counter something, now when the same situation is with Spirit they say it's okay that the whole team must waste half the slots in order to BE POSSIBLE TO COUNTER SOMETHING, you must remember my friend that the sword has two blades, and you must be in relation to someone that way you want this person to be for you, otherwise you spit on your own words and you don't respect yourself

Well... A killer got nerfed, then the killers start to complain about some survivor abilites.
Then a survivor thing get nerfed and the survivors start to complain about killer abilities.
The only way out imo, of this cycle would be to buff every killer on the actual spirit level.
Then survivors could also ask for stronger perks, if they not already got them on the way to this goal.
Note: With that I don't like to say that spirit is op. Infact I believe she is in her perfect spot right now, after all I have read about her from Spirit mains and survivors.
If she would be (Spirit) killer about skill and prediction, not about easy tracking bc her "downside" not seeing surivors is a joke when she can hear breathing, grunts of pain, interaction with gens, with totems, with lockers ect. sees footsteps, see interaction with environment like grass, corn fields she just have this too much, it's not a skill like many ppl say, it's reading like from book, nothing else
-
if this killer was about skill and prediction not about easy tracking she would be fine

and some other change besides the vacuum of the pallets can be considered as QoL change?

Ofcourse... Survivors will only become better and better. Especially with SWF. How did survivors go down back in the days? No entity blocking windows, no bloodlust, double pallets on every jungle gym, all windows open! Revert those changes and I bet that killers wont even get a hit. They are balancing for green ranks. They will only get better and better. So they have to adjust to that.
i agree with nerfing pallets, windows overall looping, bc these changes doesn't nerfing survivor against killer who can ingore looping, but staight nerfing survivor's now just make 0% chance against top tier killers, they now have around 80% kill ratio on high ranks

That also requires you to make your build for entirely vaulting and nothing else, and its not worth it in the end

vaults speeds are fine imo like vault master myers can vault window faster than medium vault survivor so...you know
-
@Hoodied said:
Kind entitled survivor main, thats where you are wrong, they nerf things that are REQUIRED, Mettle got changed to its current broken status because it was easily too easy to activate and unpunishing, DS was changed because it extended loops and was pretty much a second chance, Healing was nerfed because of how fast you could heal before just to create adren rushing in its path
i mean i agree with these nerfs what you tell, but why after this still they nerf survior for example another time vault in patch 3.0.0 when after patch 2.3.0 they are fine
-
@Tru3Lemon said:
I think ppl dont understand why devs are nerfing the survivor
Right now they are focusing reworking all the maps so will be less loops on pallets less pallets and the most important infinites ppl say that infinites dont exist oooh boy they do exist survivors arent meant to escape all the time killers need more power since gen rush still exist also some survivor perks they need to get a nerf and others needs a buff or rework
some maps need rework indeed, that's fact not opinion, less pallet/safe pallets same with windows, they don't need more power, maps just need to change to be more normal m1 killer favor, but some survivor perks needs nerf/buff?, just bring here example, that's why this post is
