  • 4 decent survivors + MFT = lose

  • most I've seen quit are survivor mains who just liked the power trip of old dbd.

  • I agree. His power shouldnt be limited to chase. Being able to negate his radar makes his positioning pretty much pointless. Its not like theres 0 counterplay to it if crouch counter wasnt a thing. You can still just get hit and crush him... its one health state. If you are injured you can just go get healed or do a different gen if hes on one.

  • depends on how its implemented. Cleansing against plague isnt as simple as just doing it and you win... theres pros and cons so you have to think. A newer player should cleanse since they probably cant loop well enough to survive injured, while maybe an experienced survivor would be better off not cleansing to prevent corrupt purge. A coordinated team can also plan out everyone cleansing at once to reset all the purges. Its not just a one and done thing you do to counter her power, its a choice you make based on the circumstances of the game and your skill level.

Then theres EMPs. Infinitely generating, very short charge, can cleanse infinite survivors, can disable infinite pods, and can be used while running. There isnt a choice to be made here or a significant change to gameplay. You get an EMP, hold it til streamed, use it, repeat. In a massive aoe that will also disable the camera that streamed you. Drawbacks? 10% slower while charging. Kind of meaningless since good survivors will start charging when you swap to the cam anticipating the stream. Which essentially makes the intended drawback of the 10% bonus, which is aimed at regaining the distance lost while streaming them, pointless because its not active while you are gaining.

  • Og DH: Gave instant 4m of distance. ~5.6s chasetime increase.

Dramaturgy: Gives 0.8m of distance over 2s. Roughly 3s chasetime increase.

Much less powerful though I could see it maybe becoming a small problem.

  • (it only matters after its broken for 5 years)

  • if they have default cosmetics and/or are p0 on default survs.

    not bringing an item

    low hours

    • survivors complaining about perks being gutted bc pickrate
    • survivors wanting wesker gutted bc pickrate
  • because stealth wesker is goofy af

  • My brother in christ simply do the totem its not that hard

  • Yeah except legions counterplay only exists for swfs. No solo team can effectively communicate their position and spread far enough to negate legions power.

Not to mention he just has zero counterplay in frenzy. He becomes a survivor that can damage you. Super fun for the killer but hell for the survivor. Only 360s and pallet stuns are actual counters to frenzy chases, the former relying on the killer being bad/console.

legion is absolutely boring. Even if you run away to a corner of the map, your terrible teammates might not and end up giving him 3 stacks of frenzy. Guess what, now if he finds you its YOU who gets insta downed even though you are the only one smart enough to try and use counterplay!

Plus if you are on a small map no amount of spreading out can save you. Not unless a navy seal swf runs to all four corners of the map the moment one of them calls out legions frenzying.

    Reasons you lose to legion:

    • Bad teammates
    • Map RNG
    • Lack of communication

    How to beat legion:

    • Have good teammates in soloQ or get a swf
    • Bring a map offering/hope to RNGesus
    • play in swf

And then you end up injured all game and mending forever because your teammates cant counter and legion has almost no counterplay in chase. Pinnacle of fun.

Endurance DH is not a reaction based perk, they designed as a prediction based perk. So your reaction matters less than your experience and mind reading skills.

Plus like I said, latency is a real thing, not some theoretical variable. There are plenty of killers who play with high ping, making it much harder to time DH against certain powers otherwise we would see people getting hit after fast vaulting clearly non-reaching attacks.

DH is absolutely reaction based. You dont predict if their gonna lunge going around a pallet, you hold your dh and use it if they do. You dont just DH if the wesker starts charging up you do it when he begins the dash. Dont dont precidt when huntress will throw the hatchet you wait for the audiovisual cues can then DH. Only at windows and in deadzones against M1 is it prediction and skill. There is ample to time to react to every single power in the game, the vast majority of which cant just wait for the DH.

If billy is curving you, you are 100% safe and cant just wait to see him go around the corner. Thats not a prediction, thats a reaction based use of DH. A prediction dh would be using before anything happens in anticipation of something happening, which like I mention doesnt happen for pretty much every single power.

latency isnt an excuse for poor balance. I saw this argument for old DH and its still just as bad. FPS games dont balance around rubber banding, or add aim assist because you are ever so slightly in the wrong spot to hit the shot thanks to ping. DBD doesnt balance around ping making your game harder. You dont just add something thats really powerful on good ping and say its okay because people might have bad ping making it very hard to use.

Also we do see people getting hit after fast vaulting. There are videos of it everywhere, killer lunges, survivor is miles away, gets bonked anyway. Happens all the time.

I think I've seen Blight players bait it by not swinging during their rush. I guess the same could be said for Nurse as well as good Nurses already don't swing if they think they can't reach you to avoid wasting time.

Hitting a DH vs Wesker isn't that easy honestly, plus DH already has issues with latency. Many killers with M2 powers get a lot of generous hits and DH needs a lot of precision.

A newbie survivor is not gonna hit a DH vs Wesker, Huntress, Trickster (and Trickster also has visual bugs because first of all they don't know the timing and second they probably don't even know what special hits are.

There should be more perks for survivor that have a high skill floor and a high skill ceiling on an individual level, not them being removed and ending up with perks that are useful in a SWF environment but incredibly niche as solo.

Blights an outlier there, thats why I didnt mention him as one who cant wait it out. Nurse absolutely cant wait it out unless you are out in a deadzone (where you absolutely shouldnt be against nurse, so skilled survivors wont be). Against good LOS breaking survivors you already need one blink just to establish LOS, the second to hit. The only situation where you can wait it out in an LOS break scenario is if you PERFECTLY blink to the survivor, which is unreasonable to expect since you cant even see them.

Disagree DHing wesker is easy. Average human reaction time is 0.2s. Takes 0.5s to go the full distance of your first dash. So essentially unless they are using it like 30% closer than the full distance (a distance they can probably just lunge/dashing isnt viable) then the DH is completely reactionary and also lasts just as long as the dash does. The second dash takes 1 full second but unless hes super duper close to you its not hard to just react when he gets closer. Even if hes crazy close for the second dash a reaction DH can still force him to wait out most of his timer.

Well... yeah obviously a new survivor isnt gonna hit DH. Because their new. And bad. After like 5 games of using it though they'd have it down and be able to DH most killer powers. people being bad isnt a defense lol.

there should be more skilled perks. Stuff like SB and adrenaline are great examples.

  • scratched mirror suffering because scratched mirror 😭

  • This would be equally as annoying as old DH. One of its main issues was how its uncounterable on killer powers. How is a wesker/nurse/pig/huntress/oni/knight/billy/demo supposed to counter DH when its used on their powers? They cant wait it out and their so highly telegraphed that its braindead to trigger.

On command third health state will always be overpowered bad game design unless highly limited like it is now. I could deal with some dh buffs though.

    • Now can be used once on no hook. (basically 3 uses instead of 2)
    • (maybe this is overboard) if you dont tank a hit with the DH, that hook stage of DH can be used again.
  • game where you kill people as a main objective censoring the word kill

  • i didnt know there was a mens health month

  • I dont hate the idea, but i'm more for nerfing some of the charges addons. Maybe make commodius 24 charges and go up to 38 with double charges

Dead Hard was switched to killer-side validation because it had such a high pick rate. Wesker has a high pick rate, so why not do to Wesker what was done to Dead Hard.

wesker has a high pickrate because hes fun, dead hard had a high pickrate because it was uncounterable bs. pretty big difference there. Wesker doesnt needa ny nerfs and if you think he does thats a you thing.

Tunneling is the ONLY way to play DBD, if you don't do it and the team you play against has even a remote knowledge about how to run loops, you will lose to predrops and Shift W. Yea sure you can win against a complete beginner team, but 70% of the time you have to tunnel.

So how the heck did we get to have survivors that are FASTER than killers for 10 seconds straight, after unhooking along with the Endurance status effect? Chasing a 103% as a 110% is already painful enough, that 3% is so strong that makes TL mind games safe as hell for survivors. The "T" 50/50 becomes a guaranteed fake because what otherwise would be a killer hit, now because of the 3% translates to the survivor making it to the "L" safely fast vaulting.

TLDR: 113% is stupid, MFT is stupid, and something needs to be done about this.

    • Tunnneling is absolutely necessary to win as killer

This just isnt true. I dont tunnel in the vast majority of my games and 2k-4k in almost all of them. Only low tiers need to tunnel to get a 2k. Any other killer just tunnels for an easy 4k that could have been actually earned. If you actually NEED to tunnel to get a 2k-4k on actual decent killers then you just aren't that good at killer.

    • Basekit BT + MFT is broken and something must be done

No...? You're the one tunneling off hook. How about you go chase then rescuer? Nobody is forcing you to deal with basekit BT. In fact I'd the same combo is good since it improves anti tunnel. Do you also think that getting SB off hook is broken? They actually gain massive distance on you and you cant just wait out BT if they've got it.

    • MFT is stupid

yeah I agree. Its a 20% chase increase while injured for LOSING. Its not like unbreakable where while it only does something for failing, that scenario almost never happens and you have to escape with 3 perks. Except MFT rewards failing in chase with a better chase. absurd.

Dead Hard was validated on the Killer side.

Maybe Weskers power should be validated on the survivors side.

dead hard validation got fixed years ago. I cant see a single reason we should nerf weskers consistency because players have bad ping.

  • My idea for a rework:

After hooking someone on a scourge hook, all survivors within 32m of a scourge hook are revealed to you for 20s. Spawns one extra scourge hook.

I swear by Lithe myself. Saves me from having to walk around the map to prevent accidentally using SB

lithe is great too, trying to conserve it can be really risky but also super rewarding. For sprint burst btw you are meant to just run around the map and let exhaustion deplete while you are on gens. odds are it'll run out by the time the killer finds you, or be like halfway there and you can finish it off in chase.

Well these are really strong in an endgame perks.

Like for example with this build, remember me, night shift, no way out and deadly preference could make the game much more challenging for survivors

I do see where you're coming from tho, but for Animatronic fright is for rewarding the killer with one instadown for doing their job

And I honestly want to see more Moris I might teak the deadly preference bit more.

They've got strong effects but I feel there are better alternatives/dont work super well practically. For example night shift regressing gates is super good, 99ing is gone. But if they realize you have it they can just open the gate and deal with egc, which will take 4m to go down if someones hooked/in chase which is the only real reason they'd stay if the gates were open. I love the concept though, I had an idea for pain res where if you get a scourge hook in endgame then the gates regress to 0 if the perk is deactivated (so you cant get value from hard tunneling all game).

I like the design philosophy for animatronic fright but I feel the effect would be kinda unfun to go against. its not like getting hits is easy by any means but randomly getting instadowned for your teammates mistakes doesnt sound fun even if powerful. Its similar to STBFL in that you only get value as a skilled player. But against AF you would just get instadowned, rather than just gaining less distance off on hit burst and still being able to express your skill to not go down.

I'd also love to see more mori's! Their so cool yet so underutilized.

  • Camping is getting removed soon, that 3% bonus removes 20% of the killers speed advantage on you making chases 20% longer against m1 killers. Wesker grab on windows is getting removed, and killers can only window grab injured people so you would go down anways.

The regression from gen kicks is 2.5% instantly and then 0.25% a second. For example if you spend 15 seconds working on a gen it'll take a full minute to regress. That regression is meaningless most of the time and its better to just not kick. Also if you are having issues with nowhere to hide, if you know a killer has it you can always pre run. it only gets value if you choose to stay near the gen.

Survivors have got plenty of really good perks too. Sprint burst can get you out of any bad situation, lithe can easily extend a chase by 20s on its own. Both sides have got plenty of stuff.

I'd say the games more balanced now than its been in a while. There used to be perks that could triple gen kick regression and make it regress double automatically as long as you werent repairing it. Also most of those ranged and speedy killers can be countered pretty simply, look up a youtube guide or smth idk.

    in Balance? Comment by nars
  • i think night shift would be better as something tacked on to some other endgame perk, it doesnt really seem worth running on its own.

Im not a huge fan of animatronic fright, but im generally not a fan of easy instadowns. The event has shown me the face of bloodlusters getting rewarded for overcommitting and it scares me.

Deadly preference doesnt seems amazing, I like the concept but there are better endgame perks. if you want an easy kill endgame bring rancor. Plus if they get unhooked while the gates are powered they are definitely escaping.

  • I've been having a great time overall!

Killer: Im also a tryhard lol. Mostly play blight, nurse, wesker, and formerly huntress before MFT existed (im a terrible huntress mft obliterates me)

I find that on killer, controlling generators has gotten more difficult but its only impacted my winrate minimally. Yeah the gens do get done almost every match but with a NWO proc on wesker? I can get at least one more kill, bonus points on blight and nurse. I do my best not to tunnel unless I think its the only way I could get a 2-3k. Im not one of those guys that treats "tunneling when necessary" as "tunnel if it will guarantee the 4k". Im probably a bad example since I really only play higher tiers. I'd say I get around 8 hooks a game and 2 kills in a match where everyone is skilled.

Survivor: I dont play survivor much, I'd say Im of average skill. Current build is SB, OTR, reassurance, adrenaline.

In soloQ I find its actually pretty good. My only frustrations come from bad teammates/hard tunnelers rather than matches with actually good killers who only tunnel when they need to. I normally die but thats to be expected of soloQ and survivor in general since the optimal escape rate is 40%. Most of the time my teammates are decent, the killer doesnt tunnel and we get 2 out. Theres barely any regression left so gens are way easier to do in soloQ than you'd think haha.

I play way more SWF survivor than I do solo though. Like 5x more. I play in a 2 man with my friend, we're both good but I'd say hes a better survivor than me. He brings any means, head on, inner healing, and distortion. Half for the silly and have because its genuinely useful. We're always efficient on gens for the most part and one of us always gets out, normally both. The only time the killers gets us both is when hes either tunneling, our team sucks, or we're doing silly stuff that leads to our demise.

Overall right now I'd say that the game is a teensy bit survivor sided. Its not major or game breaking, just a minor favor towards the role. The overall lack of regression makes controlling gens more difficult so running NWO on every killer is an absolute must, noed on m1s if you so choose. I'd say at least one endgame perk is necessary for a strong build right now for killer. On survivor adrenaline gets value way more often than it used to since gens typically get done a lot. Everyones running it because of that too so endgame is a struggle without NWO to help clutch up. If you are hard tunneling though the gamer is killer sided for sure, but im counting it separately since most killers just dont. If you are playing fair then the game is a little bit survivor sided, if you aren't then ggez.

    nerf tunneling

I have never gotten a benefit from the killer lagging not once, so idk about that one buddy.

Also blaming people for the servers being terrible is a classic, I have 0 ping issues in any other game besides DBD currently. It is most definitely a dev issue they need to sort out.

I don't find Wesker overpowered and think he's hard to play in higher MMR's but he has a negative skill floor and it is entirely due to his power.

Two generous dashes in case you mess up the first one with giant hitboxes that also extend over vaults, free zoning without even trying, built in slowdown, great tunneling and camping ability, stagger is so minimal for failing his power that the majority of survivors will never be able to exploit it.

Blight's power is way more skill-intensive for sure.

Dont know what you mean there. If the killers rubber banding, you can easily escape. their movement will be so screwed from teleporting around winning a chase is impossible. So yeah a laggy killer actually cant help you. Goes both ways, if your laggy than you are done for because your pathing is screwed. And hits that look like they dont connect will because according to the servers your a few meters back from where you're downed. Theres a pretty definitive difference between lagging out and just having worse ping than the killer. 9 ping will obviously take priority over like 30 ping. And of course if you have 9 and he has 30, he'll be missing hits since you feel closer. Or he'll down you with the scream and everything just to see you running away because you actually didnt go down. Happens all the time.

Didnt blame people for terrible servers. The servers suck and all but if I can have a consistent 20 ping with a good router than so can you. Unless you live in antarctica or something. Sometimes the servers are just terrible but I dont think you'll deny that a good wifi plan will mitigate that somewhat.

Disagree, relative high skill floor. The hitboxes are only as large as the survivors, in theory it sounds big. But in practice he doesnt have any mistake correction mid dash like a blight or nurse (those two obviously have more skill to express, but landing the hit itself is more forgiving). Those two tokens dont correct any mistakes unless you are out in the open and he somehow misses an up close dash to infect you. And even then you'll pretty easily find some geometry to run around, or just dodge it. In an actual chase his powers incredibly punishing. Miss a dash and you lost like 10m of distance, not super forgiving. Also the stun timer (for both hitting and missing) is actually longer than blights fatigue. Weskers is 3s stun while blights is 2.5s. So idk what you mean about it being too short for anyone to play off of. Also that built in slowdown is there because his power is harder to land and less versatile in chase than other chase killers.

Compare to blight for example, a pretty similar killer in playstyle. They both use a sort of bump/dash logic to setup for future dashes/rushes. Blight, while much stronger in chase due to having more tokens and being more forgiving with hits is focused solely on that injury. It does nothing else, landing a rush just injures them. Wesker power provides slowdown because its harder to land the hit. I want to reiterate, its not harder to use its just harder to get the hit off. Wesker has no way to correct a mistake while blight has 4 other rush tokens and a massive hitbox on this lunges startup. If wesker doesnt predict you perfectly he misses and you gain more distance than you would off blight missing. Since its less versatile and powerful in chase while also being less forgiving it provides a higher value. His power would be B-tier level if it didnt give slowdown.

Also disagree about him getting free zoning. For one it takes 1.5s to charge so if you are withing 6m of that vault/pallet you are going to make it. With windows its probably closer to about 4m since he can hit you mid animation. On most loops you will definitely get there anyways. Shacks a good example of his zoning though. If you turn the corner and head inside and he charges up, you vault you die. But if you go for the pallet you also die. So your only real option is to try to bait out the dash/dodge it when he goes for it. If you outplay him then he loses distance and the loop resets entirely. Also if you bait the vault dash he just loses the chase, the vault typically helps the survivors more than it does him. He can only really get you with his zoning if he doesnt fall for your mindgames or if you run him to a loop where his zoning is powerful.

blights way more skill intensive and all but its not like wesker easy.

I should really touch grass I write too much

It was so weird to get used to play without it again.

I refuse to use windows because I know It'll make me a worse survivor. Not to bash on anyone who uses it or anything, but it does make chasing much more streamlined. You dont have to take note of where pallets are and build a mental map if WoO gives you a visual one.

I use MFT sometimes just because its fun, but i try my best to stick to SB. Honestly survivor chase is just kinda boring without SB for me.

You say that sarcastically like its not stupid that ping is killer favored intentionally.

The amount of VPN'ing killers or killers with terribad connections that just get free hits and ruin the integrity of the match is annoying enough to be a real problem.

Its even worse on Wesker 'cause that killer already gets handheld enough, don't think laggy hits should also be granted too.

It doesnt. if you read my second comment you'd know that the game goes off what happened first in real time. it hasnt favored killer since the game was p2p and killer hosted. The point of the first comment was to say its stupid to complain your ping is bad and pretend its an issue with game design. Not the devs fault someone has a bad router, they shouldnt have the balance for that.

Sidenote how does wesker get handheld? He already has to predict you perfectly and sometimes urobend just to get the hit. Not like blight or nurse who have lunges to correct imperfection, if he doesnt play perfectly then he misses and loses distance. Thats why his hits are rewarded more with basekit slowdown since their harder to land.

  • nah i just have nothing better to do lol. besides your the guy raging about killer pickrate

  • It literally just plays the game for you.

WoO: Optimizes pathing for you automatically

MFT: Extends chase by default for doing nothing

Hope: Near unkillable in endgame, actually unkillable with mft

Resilience: Just extends chase by dodging some vault hits. Combines incredibly well with mft, those tight hits that almost got you down now just dont. Most MFT users dont bother staying injured either.

Your poor attempt at a meme failed to capture the whole point of this post.

You dislike that you face wesker every single match. bhvr actually made a fun killer and now people are upset that hes actually seeing play? Would you prefer a nurse and blight tunneling you out every match? At least against wesker you have a better chance of winning. People who actually feel like the game is being ruined by people playing a killer too much are just absurd to me. The best killers are all very similar in gameplay anyways. You'd be doing the same baits and dodges against a blight that you do against wesker for the most part.

What even is the point of this post? "I dont like seeing wesker every game and would prefer being 3genned all game by a SM"? Oh noo, wesker is killing the game bc people actually like him... you'd get a lot more bored of a 3 gen merchant every game than a wesker.

  • I refuse to play wesker without jewel beetle + unicorn medallion

I think the powers were tiny bit too weak for survivor side.

i dont really know what else could be done. yeah party pallets arent the greatest and the vault blocker is hit or miss but I cant think of much else. Spawning actual pallets would be broken, a speed boost would be broken, tanking a hit would be broken. Maybe when you block a vault and you get a 15% increase vault speed on your next vault? And party pallet stuns are 1s longer?

Good killers dont end up using the exposure anyways. Honestly the exposure shouldnt have been a thing it was dumb. Killers should have just gotten the remote break, its powerful enough that its all you need. Besides it takes 2 seconds to break, making for a 2s vault blocker on pallets as well. Essentially two powers disguised as one. Then you also get bad killers crutching exposure and being rewarded for overcommitting.

  • to be fair survivors can spawn pallets and make god vaults insta wins

I was thinking about a chapter idea that dives into the concept of the killer turning survivors against each other.

Then it came to me a new status effect:

    Liability status effect

You are immune to damage for the duration of the status effect:

    ·     Hitting skill checks regresses healing and generator progress by -3%

    ·     fast vaulting windows block them for 14 seconds

    ·     fast vaulting pallets breaks them instantly

    ·     Sandbagging teammates in general grant special score points.

There can only be one survivor suffering from this effect at a time.

How is it fair that ping always favors the killer? I'm playing correctly, doing what I should do and still get punished

would it be fair if it favored the survivor? "I perfectly predicted your movement and hit that crossmap double dash! Its not fair that I played correctly but I stil got punished like I missed". As far as im aware it doesnt favor anyone. It goes on a time check basis, to see which thing happened first irl. Like if that wesker had landed the hit on his screen a few milliseconds before he missed it on yours he gets the hit. Stopped favoring killer when they ended p2p.

  • oh no ping exists this is weskers fault

  • he has 44 knives, not 60. He gets 60 from using addons. And if you get caught out in the open, thats entirely on you for being there to begin with. Just use sprint burst, its one of the bet perks in the game and has innumerable uses outside of just safety.
