There is a literal infinite portal chain loop, if the killer chases you near main building you can force them to drop chase unless they are nurse/blight.

Hm, I haven't found that yet. Well they should definitely change that, infinites are no fun. Update, I have now survived once on the map! A trickster was farming the whole time haha but I mean at least I know what it's like to reach those gates now lol

Most of those killrates are due to the average pub player being incredibly bad at the game tho. If you and your team are good at the game a killer like trapper should NEVER get anything over a 2k and im talking this 2k is done by the best trapper there is on a good map and prob camping basement.

However you will see some soloQ teamates go down like flies against trapper. As a way to see it, dividing numbers is NOT hard, its incredibly easy but if you judge how hard it is based on the results kindergardeners get when they try to divide you will conclude its something incredibly difficult.

Versing most m1 killers is a free win IF and its a big IF the team is good.

Honestly, there's a lot to unpack here, and I feel like I might start a new discussion about it. I don't get why stats are being ignored, leaving us with what feels like a just "trust me, bro" type of source lol. I don't understand how the kill rates suggest that killers, even those considered useless by the community, are actually doing well, but the explanation given is that survivors are just bad, not that killers are good. I've seen people wanting to focus on balancing around the top 5% of survivors but not top 5% of killers, focusing on a small percent instead of balancing around the majority of the playerbase etc.

I'm sure there are some fair and rational reasons behind these beliefs that are more than just insulting, so I'd like to start a discussion and ask the community to help me understand. From the examples I mentioned, it seems like the evidence points in a different direction, yet we're told to ignore it, leaving us without a clear way to determine what's overperforming and what's not. Thank you for your insight though, looking forward to opening myself up to some different perspectives such as your own.

  • What if certain perks/items/addons were banned in the casual mode? I feel like that would even further discourage people who want to play competitvely from slaughtering casual. I agree with most here that without some sort've rules they will dominate. Solo is a perfect example of this lol.

  • I'm so confused haha. I haven't survived once on the new map, and maybe twice have one or so other people survived on it. In my experience the killer only has to stay either above or below, as the gens are easy to patrol, and the ones up the top are in corners which means there's only 2 points of exit, and since there's no windows once those pallets are gone it's a dead zone in a corner.

Survivors want to go against killers that cannot win. If a killer can win, it’s too unfun boring no counterplay, and must be nerfed.

In your opinion, what are killers that "cannot win"? It's very confusing to see as many killers who are deemed "weak/trash" have some of the highest kill rates in the game, like Onryo, Freddy, Myers etc. (not saying they don't deserve some qol changes and thigns but they are successfull) The lowest kill rate (doctor) is still winning 50% of the time. Even kill streaks are obtainable with some of these killers, like Twins has like a 800 something win streak as well. So which killers are you referring to that survivors want to go against that cannot win?

To be fair "Lets talk about SM" topics is like everyday for whole year.

Yes, but that doesn't mean you should be rude to someone. There are posts because people are unhappy. BHVR notices when people are unhappy and changes are made. If nobody complained then nothing would change. Granted, there are many SM posts, but op simply talked about how cool they believed the killer could be and wanted to discuss it. Griefing should never be excused simply because people are tired of the topic.

  • @Royval said:

more crying about Skull talk about how Mage hand is op?

Genuinely, what's the point of saying something like this? Just to be…rude?

  • This feels a little like bait haha. But if it's not, I will say I haven't seen many people say he is OP at all. He's good, in my opinion, and his stats reflect that, but in no way is he over powered. He feels balanced to me. Fun to play against, meaningful counterplay, and a fun design. I like noodle man :)

  • I really enjoy facing him, though I've only escaped maybe twice out of probably around 15 games. But he's new so it makes sense. What I really struggle against though is the new map! I haven't survived once on that thing! It's so easy to camp the 3 gens in the dungeon, and then many of the gens on the top are in corners so your escape options are 1 of 2, and since there's no windows once those pallets are gone those corners are dead zones. I've faced wesker twice on there, chucky, even trapper, and a handful of vecna's but I have yet to survive on that map lol. All 4ks.

  • You've inspired me! I am pretty much exclusively a solo q main, as I personally find it to the hardest way to play the game so it feels so satisfying when I do survive. I do play killer for all the challenges and stuff, but very casually. That being said, I love the idea of playing a few rounds with one role and then playing a few more rounds with another. I too hate the "us vs. them" and am always open to new perspectives. Thanks for the inspiration :)

  • I understand the frustrations you're talking about, but I think most people are just going to tell you that it's part of the game and that you may need to get better (typically it's phrased as "skill issue"). I'm not saying you need to get better, as I think it's silly and judgemental to tell someone something like that without ever seeing them play, but I just want you to know that it's a response you may get.

Slugging is defended pretty heavily as a counter to any kind of unhook play, like flashlights, offerings, sabo, stuff like that, and with the buffs in tool boxes some have stated that they intend to slug regardless because of this, so you might have to anticipate this and perhaps run unbreakable or exponential boon. Camping and tunneling are also defended and accepted as valid playstyles, as is gen rushing, though many agree it's unfun.

In the current state of the game, I believe most of the community doesn't think the things you listed are problems in need of solutions, but on a personal note, I do agree that if everyone only focuses on their own fun then nothing will ever get better, it will only lead to more selfish game play which leads to a more unpleasant game.

Wishing you luck in your future games. :)

You have to follow the rules. If you follow the rules of the game, you will survive. Though, Amanda does have her demons, and sometimes her traps are inescapable. But, that's just… another part of the game.

We'll accept it when it's true. The golden age of DBD doesn't happen until killer is the power role.

Can I ask why you consider killer is not in the power role in DBD? And what you believe killer being in the power role would look like? I think 60% is a good compromise. Even top 5% of SWF has a 48% success rate. I’m worry that if you split the divide even further, people would have very little incentive to play the survivor role as the chances of survival are already less than half.

  • I think many killers that come out now are all about shutting down loops, which can be frustrating for survivors as the only "defense" you have against a killer is loops. So when one gets completley shut down you're only defense is gone. Looping is the most annoying things for killers so it makes sense people really enjoy the ones who don't have to deal with it.

But more shut-down of loops means less chase time which leads to people slamming on gens because if looping doesn't buy time anymore you just can't risk getting off a gen unless absolutely necessary. It's an interesting cycle.

  • As some people have already stated, I think they fail when the killer isn't in the power role. That's why I'm comfortable with a 60%-40% balance, because it's what keeps the game alive, as killer players don't want to play a game where the "survivors" are just as powerful, which makes sense because you're playing an iconic horror villain, and if there are four or more other players that are just as strong as you then obviously it's not going to be enjoyable. Because of this I believe survivors need to accept that they are not meant to "win" as often as killers and that the game should be balanced this way, and that killers need to accept that they do in fact have an advantage.

  • I pretty much exclusively play Solo q, and I do it mainly because I really like the challenge. I believe that solo is the hardest way to the play the game, and there's something really satisfying when you win because the odds are quite literally stacked against you. It feels more fuliflling to me personally than swf or killer. Problem is the high is few and far between but it's so high that you cant stop chasing it. So I will dredge through 15-20 matches where my team and I die just to get that one successful win lol.

Do you play alot of solo q?

Oh yes i agree with this too, the bleedout even if you would be able to hook is pathetic, but most of the time when someone comes on here to say they were bleed out, they did something to force the killer to do it that way. And if i hear 4 petrified oaks its pretty logic that the OP and his squad tried something and the killer just outplayed it.

And that is fine, it couldve had worked aswell. I just dont see why we gotta make a fuss about stuff like this. Same goes for the camping and tunneling discussions.

Yeah if there is one thing this community is good at it's complaining lol. Some stuff I understand because the game is always evolving and some things should definitely be changed. And to be fair, complaining by the community does result in changes (adren, gen regress, twins ptb, billy buff, etc.) I think people just are never happy though and they constantly look for the next thing to raise their pitchforks at lol. But thanks for taking the time to discuss this topic respectfully no matter if the views are opposing or not. I genuinely wish you the best :)

Just be careful with your wish for easyer sabo plays. Killers will adapt to it and just do the bleedout game. It will be a very annoying and boring meta. If it ever happens.

And it doesnt matter if its strong or not, the intention to make unhookable situations with petrified oak is the only logic reason why you would do a petrified oak in the first place. As i alredy said, i dont think its toxic per say, i just dont see any other reason to run petrified oak if not for making unhookable situations.

Sorry about the double reply lol I don't know what happened. I thought my comment got deleted so I did another one but now I see they were both posted. Sorry! But yeah, I don't think that this sabo increase is necessarily good either. It's not really something I think is necessary as I think successful sabo hooks should be rare, but I only used it as an example to support my point in offerings not being very strong. But yeah, I believe I agree with you, I just don't think that an offering should always equal a bleedout.

  • I think yes. The deadzones are unfortunate but that means that all the survivors are going down in the same place or that the killer is only hooking in the same place which both aren't great.

  • @Jim_Tonic said:

It still has no other reason than to make unhookable situations. Luckily the maps are all pretty much safe from that tactic. But the petrified Oak does nothing else than generate bigger distances between hooks.

Im not saying its toxic or you should not try to win, if the oaks are the way you try, then good luck. But i dont think we should try to justify it by something else than what it is either. Call it for what it is, its fine. And anyone who says its toxic is wrong because its in the game to be used.

I suppose where we disagree is that in my opinion, a petrified oak offering doesn't mean the game will be unhookable and is not very strong even stacked. I think the fact that they're trying to buff toolboxes for sabo supports this as well, because if unhookable games were very common or easy to get with an offering I don't think they would be looking to increase the chances of getting a save by sabo of a hook. I also agree it isn't toxic to bring the offering, as again I don't think it automatically means the game will be unhookable. And I suppose this also means in my opinion that just because the offering is brought doesn't mean you need to bleed out the entire team to counter, as what the original post stated that I replied to.

    In any case, gliyn!

I'm not sure where we disagree to be honest, as I also don't think it's toxic to bring an offering either. Unhookable situations can happen but are often rare as the hooks in most maps are close together. I think that sabo isn't often successful which is why they are planning on buffing the toolboxes to do so becuase often times if one hook goes down you can get to another even without petrified oak offerings. I think if it was too strong they probably wouldn't be trying to buff sabo.

Maybe where we disagree is that I don't believe petrified oak offerings are that strong on their own to create an unhookable game. It's much different than bringing boil over and just standing in one spot all game and then running back up to it when the killer tries to hook you, imo (had a match like that last week. the feng literally just stood there all game to be downed and ran back up and refused to do gens, get saves etc. it was rooouuggh and she didn't bring an oak offering of anything). Idk I think bleeding out a team because of some offerings is unnecessary, just like instantly dc against a SM is unnecessary as well. In any case, gliyn.

I do similar thing with The Pig sometimes, usually get survivors laughing about it (though I did have one P100 Kate that lost her religion and told me how she gets a 4K every match and escapes every match as survivor, getting Iridescent I on both sides every single month. Uh, yea… Guess you don't escape every match actually, Kate.) I play friendly to the end, stay crouched and just watch them with Amanda's Letter (Scratched Mirror if you know the more famous Myers version) then when the last generator is done, I stand up. If anyone runs, I chase them, down them, Mori them, and move on to the next.

Yeah, that's what I mean haha. I've had a few killers do that to me so sometimes it's hard to trust the whole "friendly farming" thing that op was talking about.

  • It was the streamer The Cool Mike Show. It’s an endgame build. He plays as wraith and essentially just locates the two gates and stands cloaked by a totem to ensure his noed works. He uses Rancor (stays cloaked so the obsession doesn’t know), and then Switches obsession by using Game Of Foot, and blocks the exit using blood warden. This allowed him to be “afk” essentially until end game where he was able to get a 4k by Mori for all survivors without a single hook. It was crazy to watch and crazy to experience in the actual game after that lol. If you wanna watch the vid it’s called “Most Effortless 4k in DBD” on his TikTok.

  • I always farm for my killer challenges. You just show youre friendly, hit the hook, and they literally line up in pretty little rows and you get your hooks in. I have literally never run into a single person that wasn't happy about farming. I'm not saying they don't exist but I think it's the smaller of the group. There is a chance they didn't believe you were genuine, as myself in solo q have run into "friendly" killers that have an entire end game build where they went "afk" and still got a 3k for literally standing there the whole time.

  • I'm sorry you've had such an unfortunate experience. The game is pretty awful with welcoming new players, and especially those that struggle. I'm sorry that even in posting this, you're getting replies telling you that you didn't do enough research, or that you're simply not good. I don't think these people understand that they're literally proving your point about the community being unwelcoming. I've said this in the past; I don't think the community is toxic but it is judgemental. It lacks empathy. People always talk about playing the game however you want regardless of what other people think and then wonder why everyone is angry at eachother and miserable lol. It's not all bad. But I'm sorry if your feelings felt invalidated. You have every right to feel how you feel. All I can say is that it's not all bad.

  • Animation lock-in blinds are tough for sure. I feel similarly about getting hit through an animation lock-in as well. But without those opportunities of animation lock-ins I feel like the game would be so much more stale

Making it harder to hook is clearly the point of the offering, but why is it considered toxic?

I have never said anything about toxic. It is simply something that is going to make me tryhard and just make sure you all die for this. Any hook preventing actions will make me do it, doesn't matter if was FTP+Buckle up, Background players, Sabo etc.

I don't think it is toxic, but it's definetly unfun for otherside, so I have no reason to hold back and I will try to make the game same for them.

I am sure to apply this on many survivors after toolbox buff…

Gotcha that makes sense. My apologies, I shouldn't have assumed you thougt it was toxic. I thought when you said you hoped the killer got a 4k it was becasue you felt that their play was toxic. But I suppose you meant you hope they got a 4 k because if the op is going to try hard then the killer tried hard and won.

It doesn't really matter, if it works or not. Issue is what you are trying to do.

There is simply no other reason, why you would want to stack this offering other than attempt to deny hooking for the killer.

Making it harder to hook is clearly the point of the offering, but why is it considered toxic? Or is it not inherently toxic unless paired with certain perks like boil over, saboteur, breakdown, exponentiol boon etc. In your opinion, is it the mechanic of denying hooks toxic and should be taken out of the game or is it toxic if paired with perks or friends? (If this sounds hostile it's not meant to be, just trying to understand why the op was being "toxic".)

  • @Jim_Tonic said:

well what other reason would you have to run petrified oaks if not for generating non-hookable situations? XD Thats litteraly what petrified oaks are for.

And it only ever worked on midwich when i did it with my swf. Probably works on hawkins too as this map is absolutely bad to play on for both sides.

It spreads hooks but typically not even very far, as there are so many on most maps close together. Even in the op post they had 3 people being to em and all 3 were on comms and it still didn’t work. If it was guaranteed to work everytime then I would more so understand the hatred but many times it doesn’t work so I’m not sure why it’s deemed to be so toxic.

  • @VomitMommy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3727285#Comment_3727285

    It depends what offering.

3 cakes? I will try to make it nice game, if possible.

3 Petrified oeak? That sounds like trying to make unhookable situation, so that's just asking to get bleed out. I am not going to be nice against that, it just screams bully squad.

It does kind of remind me of how survivors DC against a skull merchant because they assume the game is going to be a certain way simply because of what someone else brought. But SM and petrified oak both got their reputations for a reason so. I suppose it makes sense.

  • Not blurring the username is against the forum rules. It wasn’t right for them to insult you that way but don’t steep as low as them by blasting them.

  • @VomitMommy said:

Just for what you were trying to do, I hope the killer got 4k…

Can I ask what was wrong with bringing the 3 offerings?

  • I don’t think she got popular to hate because her powers were OP, I think she got popular to hate because of the players that played her. The community was very vocal about how unfun the tactics most SM mains used was to face, but enough players continued to play that way to the point where BHVR stepped in to try and put a stop to it. And while the rework changed her, it didn’t change those players. Players that will do anything and everything to win regardless if it means guarding a 3 gen from the start until the game literally times out. Those type of players are NOT exclusive to SM but she attracted them because of how easy it was to use her in such a way.

Certain perks/killers attract certain playstyles that many players simply don’t want to deal with. It’s like seeing a lobby full of toolboxes, it doesn’t mean they’re SWF or a sabo bully squad, but it happens enough times for the assumption to be made, and since survivors can’t lobby dodge a killer they do it by DC.

Obviously this doesn’t doesn’t mean every person who uses a certain perk/killer plays that way, but enough do to gain a reputation.

  • Think of a games difficulty settings; I like to consider it the "hardest" way to play DBD. You will get people insisting that survivor is brain-dead easy, that if you're not good at it then it's a skill issue, and will say that the stats prove nothing. But based on the literal facts, which are the stats, it is clear that it is not as easy as many preach it to be.

That being said, I think it's important to manage expectations. If winning is all that matters to me then I'll play some killer, as my chances of winning are higher. If I want to just goof around then I'll play with friends. If I want to seriously to try and win as survivor then there's probably discord servers for that. And if I want the hardest difficulty then I do solo q which is what I primarily play.

Once I stopped expecting survival to be half win v losses, the game got much more enjoyable for me. One of my very firsts posts on this forum was about Solo Q and asking if this is what it's supposed to feel like. Everyone said yes. And since then my opinions on solo have changed. It's not "fair" but it's not supposed to be and I understand that, so I enjoy the challenge.

  • This is a tricky question for me cause I truly believe any killer can be insane in the right hands especially with certain maps or add-ons, which is how it should be. I guess if you mean overrated as in overpowered I would say none, I think all killers are in a good spot, some could use some tweaks certain addons or base kit stuff but bothing crazy (aside from nurse she's def op). If you mean overrated as in idk why they're so popular I would say probably Clown.

  • I like to think of it as a way to test your skills without being perk dependent. It's a great way to see what you're capable of, and what other teammates are too. Yes, the tunneling and camping is frustrating but killers will do it no matter the game mode because it's the easiest way to win. So I guess it's not fun because it's better than the main game, but it's fun because it's a way to test your skills. Others may use their crutch but youre not and you can feel good about it!

  • I think he's in a great spot. You can do some nasty trick shots with his goo ball, and the ability to teleport instantly is nothing to snub at. He does still have good counterplay (if you couldn't dodge the goo balls or get rid of the teleport I'm not sure how any survivors would stand a chance) But still require a good amount of effort on the surv end. For example with Vecna's skeletons, a quick crouch negates that and it's not a good counter because the effort vs the value isn't fair to the killer. But the unknown you have to be mindful of where the teleport spawns are, run and look behind at the same time to watch for the goo ball, react appropriately either left of right because it can still get your through walls. He has a 64% win rate so I think he's healthy and games against him are fun.

  • People will always try to invalidate your experience by insulting you or insisting you just aren't good at the game regardless of which "side". Just try to ignore it and have fun. Don't let them spoil your mood :) keep on keepin' on cowboy

  • It's super upsetting when someone goes on 1st hook like that. I think it's a reflection of how those people feel with the current state of the game. I'm not saying it's a right decision, as it typically always screws your teammates, but I'm also not going to pretend like I don't understand why it happens. The current state of the game isn't super fun for many survivors, especially in solo q which is the majority of survivor players, I believe. The game is much different than it was a few years ago wether people accept those stats or not, and while I think this is a healthy shift, it's going to take time for people to get used to losing this often.

Sometimes just gg and go next means next, next, next, next, next and some people hit a breaking point, as I would expect any human person to. The best thing to do is just log off the game. But speaking from personal experience, you convince yourself that surely the next one won't be so bad because the past ten have been and it's a nasty cycle. You have to realize when you're getting tilted and just end for the day.

Going on 1st is not the right decision, but it's important to consider why so many people feel it's the best decision.

  • Interesting comparison. I’m not sure why there’s somewhat of a double standard but you’re not alone in noticing it. Someone made a post a few days ago about the bias between the way people react to things killers complain about compared to the way people react to what survivors complain about, and I think this may be one of those things. Even if the essence is completely the same, or stats support the point, or it’s just an opinion, often on the forum if it’s a survivor complaint it won’t be met with as much understanding, and often it’s made personal by insisting that the OP is simply bad at the game. “Skill issue” is what seems popular to say, a way to kind of invalidate everything that the OP expressed.

Your point I believe is strong, and if survivors or even 1 survivor were given the option to “lobby dodge” the same way, I believe the community would be quick to denounce it. Not trying to “us vs. them” as everyone is an individual, but the posts on the forums already seem to support this.

Both sides focussing solely on their objective makes the game a lot more unfun for the other side. Sadly, perks are used as a band aid to control these playstyles.

This game mode just showcases it perfectly.

That's why I think both should effect one another. If the same survivor is hooked consecutively, then gens get a repair speed buff. If hooks are spread amongst survivors, gens get a repair speed slow down. Both stack. I think it's a good compromise that would be healthy for the game. Because I've noticed the same as you with this chaos shuffle, killers need slowdowns cause gens fly and tunneling is still just as strong as it was a few years ago.

It seems like it's time for me to explain the point of this thread

On March 7, someone posted the following:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/407321/survivors-need-to-improve-and-get-better

My entire post here was an adaptation of that post, to see how people would react to an opinion of the same nature but from an opposite-side bias.

Since the thread my post was based on was made (9 weeks since the thread was posted) the most active dissenting comment received 44 vote-ups (as of the time of writing this post). The most active dissenting comment in this thread has 45 vote-ups within 5 days of being posted. The post defending killer players has achieved more upvotes in a far smaller amount of time than the post defending survivor players from the same type of accusations. I would hope some users of this forum could hopefully look at this fact and reflect on why people defending killer players would get greater and faster defense on the forums than survivor players facing the same allegations.

I appreciate this kind of "experiment". I do think there's a bit of bias when it comes to certain players vs others. This is gonna be a hot take, but I think both "sides" are flawed for different reasons and both "sides" deny up and down that they are and accuse the other of it.

!! I will preface this by saying this is just my personal experience from both "sides", and every individual is different, I'm not accusing all of one side or the other of being guilty of these things, it's just in the small puddle of this game i've splashed around in, this is my experience.

For example, when it comes to toxicity, I believe surviors are more toxic. If you are a character they don't like, don't get the unhook fast enough, accidently miss a skill check etc. they will throw you under the bus much faster then step in front of it. Survivors are more petty/selfish and play as if they're not in a team role. Many don't take accountability and blame every other thing than themselves, as admitting they made a bad play or mistake is rare from what I've seen. They need less reasons to turn on you or go out of their way to make sure you fail. Both sides can make toxicity personal, but as a soloq main, killers "toxic" is for pressure/securing kills and survivor "toxic" is a personal vendetta on a long list of possible reasons.

And in my opinion, while killers aren't as toxic, they're more entitled. There's not an equal amount of push and pull there. To this day many killers deny the stats about the killrate, either implying it's not actually more than survivors success rate or that it's even under the survivors success rate, how SWF survival rate sits at 43% in normal play and 48% at top mmr which is still less than half but still often described as too strong and unfair etc. Receive various nerfs they asked for to perks on survivor side but when nerfs hit the killer side to balance it out, they feel it is unjust or unwarrented. I think even your point in this post about there being a bit of a bias between which sides complain, shows that even if the numbers are there, it doesn't prove anything in some opinions.

I think the bias possibly stems from how bad killers had it for a long time, perhaps many may feel they deserve a compensation, no matter how unfair it is because it was unfair for them for a long time. So killer struggles are more understood because they've been victims for longer, sort've a, well you had your time and now it's mine. Which I can't blame them for feeling that way. I do think killer should be in the power role, I do think they should be stronger, and I'm okay with a higher winrate for killers as it contributes to the horror element of the game and I'm fine with where "balance" is heading. I'm not so fine with denying that the role is more powerful and is more successful and insisting the other "side" is "easy baby mode" even when the actual statistics prove otherwise. The denial is what irks me.

Both "sides" deserve understanding as many complaints from both "sides" are valid. But in any case, thank you for the experiment. I wish you and everyone else good games. Please nobody take offense to this, I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings or invalidate them, I'm simply stating what I have experienced, it isn't more or less important than yours or anyone else's.

  • I agree with this. I understand tunneling is a valid strat as is camping as neither are against the rules of the game though I would argue clearly discouraged (basekit bt, otr, ds), but the entire point of a game is to play it, and to go out of your way to make sure someone else doesn't get to play it shouldn't be part of it. This is on the devs for designing the game this way, but of course if that person is choosing to play that way there is a semblence of accountability because they are knowingly choosing to do it.

Hopefully the devs will be open to changing it up a bit. I think linking the gens to hooks would be a great compromise. If one person is hooked consecutively, then gens get a repair speed buff, making them take less time to complete. When hooks are spread amongst survivors, gens get a repair speed slowdown, making them take longer to complete. This rewards killers to spread their hooks by giving them time to do so, while also allowing each survivor to actually play the game. This doesn't take away a killers ability to tunnel, but it denies them the pressure it used to.

I just prefer FTTE much more simply because of the constant value and intel with hooking, knowing I'll either know where the obsession is, or another survivor who becomes the obsession, MYC I just never get any real value with, unless I'm running floods of rage

I can see that. Personally FTTE has proven to be really powerful in my solo matches. I don't think it's op by any means, but I don't think it's super weak either. I think it's in a good spot.

Ok read the perk hooking the obsession does cause someone to scream and become the next obsession.

But even then its not a good perk in my opinion 20 seconds of exposed is not good you would waste 15-20 seconds just to get to the person and then start chase 10 seconds of Aura reading is cool but hard countered by distortion which survivors love to run there's simply better perks with exposed duration Make your choice, Dragons grip heck even Hubris

I'm not saying its good or bad to use, as I'm a solo q main so I haven't personally used it as a killer. My perspective comes from my experience in going against it. It's like Adren. That perk is very specific to what and how it can be used effectively but when it is used effectively it can change the whole game. In my experience, FTTE can do the same, and has snowballed in more of my games then it hasn't. But when it comes to Distortion, I'm surprsied you run into it alot. It wasn't even in the top ten percent of most used perks from the last stats.

In any case, I'm indifferent to the FTTE perk in general. I don't think it's op, and I don't think it's super weak. I think it has a chance to give really good value, especially on high mobility killers, like many perks.

I mean, HUD already does this. You always see that survivor downed without being in chase and screaming. Sometimes you know where the killer and dude in dying state in completely different place, when he was up few seconds ago. There was not a single case that i didn't understand that player uses Plot Twist. It's just soloq survivors hate to use their brain and given tools, nothing new.

Tbf, There's been times when someone gets downed without much of a chase icon, either by a stealth killer or sometimes the hud doesn't always track if you're being chased. Sometimes for challenges you will have a "be chased by x amount of time" and even though you're in chase it doesn't count. DBD has lots of bugs sometimes.

However, I personally don't think some sort of indication someone is using plot twist is needed, as most of the time the context clues are there, like you mentioned. But just because they're asking for something that you or I don't need, doesn't mean they don't use their brains. No need to insult anybody.

  • Honestly with the matches I've had against Unknown the stats make alot of sense. Most of the time whenever I try to dispel a hallucination they instantly teleport to it. Some set them up almost like hag traps around one half of the map, on edge map far enough away from a gen you don't see it but close enough it doesn't take long to get there and just patrol a 3 gen that way. I do have alot of fun going against him, but he does typically steamroll my games.

Also I love that even with the 3-gen blocks in place it still happens almost half as often as it did before ha.

    Thanks for the fun facts!!

It's an aura reveal for 6/8/10 seconds, not the entire 20 second Exposed effect, but yes.

Oh sorry! I just edited my reply. Thank you for the correction. (Also if this sounds sarcastic I promise it's not lol)

  • FTTE reveals your aura for a duration of the exposed status effect.

(edit for duration I thought it was all 20 sec but it was max 10)

20s of exposed aint that good why not just use make your choice?

I'm not sure why most killers I face don't typically use make your choice. I run into FTTE much more often. Maybe because of the Aura reveal? You can't hide or anything once it's on you. Not sure.
