If we're removing Trapper can we please remove Hag too?
-
I'm completely fine with characters just being skins (except the fact that they're $15...) I don't really care that Mr. X doesn't have a tentacle, he could easily be made a skin and most people wouldn't bat an eye. It would be very easy for the survivors though and I would probably buy skins like Sheva, Ada, and maybe Barry.

Also if you dead hard into a wall the killer with hit you.
Not necessarily, if I know I won't make a pallet or window vault I will just Dead Hard into the pallet/window and the lunge will go right through me very often.
-
Well if you think that it wasn't fair then you can think that. In your mind you can just pretend that you won because you probably wouldn't have anyway.

Sooo turn free cosmetics into paid legendary $15 cosmetics?

Most streamers think that because they have 5 viewers they are right in everything they do.

And they could be losing even more money if their licenser takes them to court for breaching the license agreement by not fixing the glitch that messes up their IP.
This is the product they have to sell.
Sure, there might be better products they could sell, but they don't have those.
Yes I agree, the only people this is hurting in the end is themselves.

I've seen a mix of both. Some people just don't understand, which I get. Not everyone knows everything. It's been said that the first step towards knowledge is the phrase "I don't know".
On the other hand - sadly, WAY more on the other hand - I'm seeing loads of people who honestly just don't seem to care one way or the other. They want their cosmetics, they want them now, and they want them regardless of what they have decided are empty "excuses" on the part of BHVR. Even many of the people who have claimed to understand licensing restrictions still spew venom towards the company for taking their unlicensed cosmetic bug away, without apparent consideration as to whether there could be complex issues behind that decision or whether BHVR has any moral ground to do such a thing. The reactions, by a wide margin, boil down to nothing more than "the company could fix the game but instead they took away a tiny harmless bug and now I hate them that much more". Some people have actually used terms like "I know for a fact" before proceeding to throw out nothing more than angry assumptions.
I've been trying to educate rather than criticize but many people already seem to have made up their minds not to care.
Well to be fair, if BHVR wants to make money on cosmetics, they need people to buy them now and the way they want. If nobody wants a specific legendary cosmetic or only wants one part of it people won't buy it, simple as that. They're definitely losing money getting rid of the original cosmetic glitch.

Your items and offerings get refunded.

I've just never liked the idea of a voice chat ESPECIALLY in dbd because of the toxicity. It would be a lot better if they added some sort of ping function or a pre-made list of voice commands like "unhook me" or "do the gen". That would work fine.

Blast Mine vs RA is a joke perk. It is totaly fully countered by Ruin and If the killer has Pop it only eats like 3 seconds of the timer. Blast Mine is only good if the killer is greedy and want to Pop and then chase you OR when you want to troll him / fun build. Otherwise, RA is much more usefull than Blast Mine.
Yeah the problem with Blast Mine is that literally every killer will just pop the gen right after, it doesn't help with anything, it's just a joke perk.
-
Literally the only reason I ever bought legendary cosmetic sets was so they could be glitched. Of course it's still a glitch but I know for a fact that they were making more money because of this. You had to go way out of your way to do it, it wasn't like it was a standard option.
-
The answer is buffing solo Q and then buffing every killer in accordance.
-
It really depends on how much gets done in that chase and where you are. If my chase lasts 80 seconds and 2/3 gens get done I call that an amazing accomplishment. But sometimes a chase could last 60 seconds and my teammates weren't doing anything so it would be a very unsuccessful chase.

Hmm ok.
Personally, I try to bait it and time my delay of my lunge after they’ve initiated their DH. This usually results in a hit. If I’m using Coup De Grace and bait the DH before lunging then I’m absolutely guaranteed a down.
Well thus far I've been mostly attributing it to latency but maybe the actual lunge is longer/as long as a Dead Hard so I came to the forums to get an actual answer.
-
I've been against 2 basement Hags and 2 Ruin + Undying Spirits tonight. Other than that it's been pretty good.

Were they using Coup De Grace?
No and it has happened in many, many games
-
I don't mind what the fog whisperers do. A lot of game companies have a similar system like Nintendo with their ambassadors. It's very typical to just supply them with in-game currency/games and not much else. I wish BHVR would listen to them more but on the face of it I don't think they should completely get rid of the fog whisperer program.
-
@White_Owl said:
If my math is correct, Dead Hard let survivors cover 4.4 additional meters, while a killer's lunge attack is about 2 meters long, so the answer to your question is no. Still latency and timing are the main factors to take into consideration.
Well then DH is more than double that of a lunge, I guess it's mostly just latency then cuz even if the lunge was slightly after it still shouldn't hit.

What do you think is a reasonable time for a chase than? A time that is sorta in the middle between the killer and the survivor winning
Well this is based on top level play, obviously at that point you can slow down gens or do whatever you want to slow down the game but objectively killers like Pyramid Head counter pallets and windows and if he is good enough he can stop basically any chase with 2 easy hits. I'd definitely want chases to last longer than 15 seconds and if they do last longer than that they can nerf gens. This current balance doesn't work for anybody because the average kill rate is too high but objectively survivors are stronger.

And before you end up on the hook, you'll have a chase. Survivors don't spawn on hooks, last time I checked.
Well you'll have a chase for 15 seconds. I would think most people think that countering the only defenses a survivor has is not healthy for the game.
-

If you make killers stronger in the 1v1, there's a higher chance you won't have to sit on generators the whole trial, because they'll actually have the time to chase you. You'll also be able to perform hook rescues and heals and other stuff more often.
Not if they make killers that completely counter windows and pallets like Pyramid Head, Nurse, and Spirit, then you'll be on a hook the whole game.
-
1v1 is way more fun and is the actual interactive part of dbd.
Nobody wants to be sitting on gens the whole game especially when there are killers with little to no counterplay.

Chris/Claire may also be a rare sight because dbd doesn't function on over half the platforms right now and a lot of people are holding back their money, especially after the Jill/Leon set fiasco, until they can actually play the game again. Cause I see a lot of Cybil, Lisa, And Minotaur Oni in my trials.
Well that may be true but we won't know until a few weeks. I definitely don't think "dbd doesn't function on over half the platforms" because most of the people I play with are console anyway.
-
@GoodBoyKaru said:

Because BHVR is a company and if people have proven they will buy it at that price they'll price it there. If that's where the equilibrium price is then that's the best place for it.
They have to make money somehow. If you play enough dbd, the battle pass is a one-time purchase. Characters barely make them anything, considering their price, they must pay licensing fees for all licensed characters bought, and a lot can be unlocked for free. That leaves one final place for money, skins.
Which, again, completely optional.
I'm not saying they don't have the right to make it whatever price they want, just that it's unreasonable which it seems like a lot of other people agree with because Chris/Claire is a rare sight in the game.

Laurie is a character with 3 unique teachable perks. Chris is not, and therefore is significantly more of an optional purchase.
Yes but that still doesn't mean he should be 3x more money than Leon. They objectively put less work into making him, why is he worth 3x more?

The fact that during the SBM test. it took me almost half an hour to a full HOUR just to get one match and an extra 5 minutes Just to get into the game to just barely 3k that game cause i had to tunnel off hook, AND Camp just to force a death hook,
That is not good game design. i want actual fun matches. not sweat matches 24/7 on my main
I'm pretty sure literally nobody had more than like a 10 min queue, even god streamers, so don't try to act like you did.
-
It makes no sense that the skin for Chris is $15 while the Leon character is only $5.
-
Yeah there's another pip bug. It will probably fixed in the patch tomorrow.
-
You can go into the usersettings.ini file in the game folder and change the maximum to 120 FPS I think.
-
Playing as killer against only Solo Q survivors doesn't make you good at dbd. It just makes killer incredibly easy.
-
- I would rather wait extra time to find a game that's actually fair for both sides
- You would earn a ton of BP if the ranks were actually balanced, you could run the killer for a while, get lots of saves, and lots of gen time
- It sounds like you just want to go against people who are really bad
-
Well if you were genuinely called a wall hacker by a person who has 4k hours I'm just assuming those hours were faked/idled. Nurse's Calling is like a perk that literally everybody learns about when they have 10 hours, let alone 4 thousand.
-
It really depends on what type of player you are. If you play to win then the correct thing to do is to leave but if you just like having fun or are really selfless then unhooking would be the thing you could do.
Since there are no official "win conditions" I just like doing what Otzdarva does and if at least one person escapes through the exit gate I count that as the killer losing. I generally play to win so I would have just left but it's all on the player.
-
Demogorgon because he's good but balanced and he's fun to play as and against.

Aight, quick reminder for you. In the past Moris used to kill people no matter how many times they got hooked, they got balanced. Brand New Parts used to INSTANTLY REPAIR GENERATOR upon use, they dont anymore, they got balanced. Keys are basically unchanged since old days.
See what im saying? Keys are broken remnant of the past that should be changed long time ago alongside other things. For some reason they didnt. And this is why people have problems with them. And so do i. So i want to change them from being atrocity, into actual item. On item strenght level, not better than most perks strenght level.
Yeah I think keys should be changed like how moris were changed. Moris and keys aren't really comparable tho because back in the day a killer could just kill you while playing the game completely normally. If you bring in a key and want 4 survivors out you have to do all 5 generators and then go out of your way to find the hatch. Even if you just want 2 people out the hatch you still have to at least do 3 generators. It's not the same as just hooking everybody once and ending the game for free.
-
I think he's very balanced. His tentacle has the potential to be better than even Pyramid Head's shockwave attack but the drawback is that you have to hit them 3 times.
-

I mean, yeah, it is weaker than opening hatch. But thats the point. Its supposed to be regular item, not get out of jail free card. I dont want to turn one op BS into another op BS.
Well I don't think turning an OP item into a completely useless item is the right way to go either. It should be more balanced than that.
-
I definitely think the hatch should disappear but I think being able to open an exit gate is just way too weak.
-
Wow what a crazy mind game. Standing there.

I do feel like this is a much more pressing issue. Spirit in herself is rare to go against, while literally any team can do this. They didn't even have gen perks.
The fact that if survivors really wanted to, they could make games unwinnable for any killer, is bullshit. You can win against everything else, but not this.
This is just where our experiences differ. When I play killer I almost never get death squads like that, and even the statistics show that. Solo Q is by far the most common and it's why killers have 60 - 75% kill rate. When I'm survivor some nights I get Pyramid Heads, Deathslingers, Spirits, and Nurses all with ruin + undying. What you're describing is definitely a problem but I feel lowering the kill rate in the average game is more of a pressing issue just based off of the statistics and my personal experience with killer and survivor.

It is frustrating for both sides, but discarding the validity of this issue because of that is the textbook definition of whataboutism.
I never discarded the validity of the issue lol I'm just giving another perspective and how this doesn't need to be changed immediately because there are a million other issues that lots of other people would like to be changed immediately too.
-
@CoalTower said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294664#Comment_2294664
We all know Stridor Spirit needs changes. However, so does this. Whataboutism doesn't really mean anything here, especially with that example. If every match was like mine, Stridor Spirit and Nurse would be the ONLY killers that could compete, while it's still possible to beat a Stridor Spirit through genrush like this, and any Nurse that played less than perfect as well.
That's what I'm saying, I'm not "whatabouting" I'm saying that the same issue goes for both sides and it's extremely frustrating for survivor and killer.
-
@CoalTower said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2294655#Comment_2294655
Ruin+Pop. Didn't matter though, since Ruin was gone within 30 seconds, and it was Mother's Dwelling without a three gen, so I couldn't really get value out of Pop.
Well I guess it's a similar problem when I go against a Stridor Spirit on Wrecker's Yard with ass teammates and get my balls rocked. It happens all the time but I don't think they need to drop everything, change all the maps, the gen times, and the killers just for situations like that.
-
Well did you run any regression perks or actually use them effectively?
-
@TheClownIsKing said:

Unrelated but I really wish Bite The Bullet also hid your aura just while performing the healing action.
I HATE Nurses Calling so much.
Yeah Bite The Bullet is just really really unnecessary when Iron Will exists. Like they really thought it was a good idea to make a perk that's just Iron Will but only when you're healing? (yes I know it also conceals the other survivor's sounds and the actual healing sounds, but still it's just really weak)
-
I feel like most survivors do it to give the killer some extra points for downing them. At least, that's why I do it.
-
A huge problem I have with this game is how sometimes the descriptions are just straight up wrong.
Another thing that annoys me, why doesn't borrowed time work when unhooking yourself? "For 10/12/15 seconds after unhooking a Survivor, the unhooked Survivor is protected by the Endurance status effect"
You are a survivor! You unhook a survivor, it would make sense if it said "another survivor" but it doesn't!
