What about my question? What happens when everyone is asleep with no way to wake up? Do they just insta-lose?

Players can wake each other up, if Freddy is on their tail not giving them time to wake each other up then that's a good freddy! So if everyone's asleep and standing at the exit if this gets fixed/patched then they don't get a "Get out of jail free" card for standing at the exit in hopes of freddy smacking them.

This would discourage people from running to the exit while in dreamworld since there's no way out. I guess if you really want to counterbalance this, they can wake themselves up but it can only be once the exit gates are powered, takes alot longer, and it inflicts the exposed status on them which does not wear off until after they are downed in the dreamworld again. This I think would balance things out

  • oh but they'll try, they scream: "Held the game hostage!" in the report section.

  • @Nea_Death_Experience said:

Bro, dream world is free aura reading. Why did you let them get that close to the exit door?

    @MegMain98 said:

You have free aura reading as Freddy. If they manage to crawl out of the exit gates while downed when you have a permanent Deerstalker, that is all on you buddy.

It's called they stand at the very edge of the exit wounded KNOWING that when I strike them, they get an instant crawl escape and if i leave them alone, they'll just wake each other up and escape anyways.

You don't want survivors to crawl out? Simple solution:

Read above and how about you git gud. (oh noes! they called me a bunch of names! MOD! MOD! They're calling me names that are totally deserved but i don't care! spank them!)

Using RBTs is more of a means to slow survivors down. Does it accomplish that? Debatable. Some games I can get them to slow way down dealing with hook saves and working on boxes rather than gens. Other games the traps are just barely even a bump in their gameplan. That said as pig you're never really hoping to get an RBT kill until the end game, but honestly the best use is to make them go do jigsaw boxes and harass them into wasting time. Pig also does better sometimes if you just leave a trapped person on the floor. Let them bait their teammates in to heal and ambush them. Get two people trapped at one time at most and down them again to go for hooks. Others will make the save and then you just get them on death hooks. Save two traps for endgame. Get one down trap them and hook them. Or Throw them in the exit and run away from them enough to break chase. That can cause a RBT death or bait the last survivor.

and then you get called "a camper" its a lose/lose situation.

Nah, BT + multiple saved "nerfed" DS = Impossible killer endgame.

Heavily weighted towards survivors, as all things in DBD should be ;3

except when killers NEVER get a single kill or even a single hit until the exit gates are powered. I've played both sides and I know how easy it is to abuse the killers cone of vision. All i had to do was circle around a tree with the killer literally on my tail and I lost them and this wasn't some rank 19 nooblet either so don't use that defense.

An organized SWF team will literally call out your position on voice chat everytime they see you even if you don't see them. This makes it cake for SWF to evade the killer until the exit gates are powered. Throw in the fact that as you say "is weighted heavily towards survivors" and tell me how fair it is when a killer gets ZERO POINTS the whole match because the team was so OP and organized that even a pro killer couldn't even find them...

Oh and don't even get me started when they see the killer pop a point booster, god they go into uber troll mode to make sure you get as little points as possible!

    so eff you.

Next time i see your name in the forums i’ll either ignore you, or post the same “helpful” advice as most others here, “git gud”

    BT needs two nerfs:

    • Doesn't activate once the gates are powered. This will make it so the perk can't guarantee hook rescues when there's nothing the killer can do about it.
    • Can only activate after a survivor has been hooked for 15 seconds. This will make it so it doesn't activate on hook rushes.

No. The perk is great for countering campers, Tunnelers, and farming killers. That makes no sense to want "Can't guarantee hook rescues when there's nothing the killer can do about it" or "Doesn't activate on hook rushes". You basically want it so killer mains don't have to win some and lose some with as much chance as every other killer their rank, you just want them to be boosted.

Hows about OP and some other killers stop freaking hooking people near the exit gate and learn to drop bodies when someone is about to do a blind save if for some reason they think they can't look away, and learn to optimize their movements so at least if they do lose, they won't come on here complaining for nerfing everything survivors consider essential in their loadout.

How about you and every other survivor main out stop relying on an OP perk and escape with your own skill? don't sound so nice when its shot back at ya, does it?

Can you just write "Delete borrowed time from the game next time" because that is what you are saying.
In 15 seconds on the hook the killer should be well gone and it wouldnt activate anyway. Not alot opf people run borrowed time anymore anyway. ######### happens. The point of the perk is to get the save. Hit the person as they unhook and after they unhook dude.

Next time Can you just write: don't nerf my OP perk that gets me or my friend a guaranteed escape!!

I’ll throw in my 2 cents and try to as helpful as possible with advice that doesn’t rely on perks, powers, or offerings.

Firstly just accept that you’re going to come across 4 team SWF in coordinated voice chat bringing along a rainbow map, skeleton key, either torches or toolboxes (with brand new part), shroud of union, dead hard, self care, and decisive strike, and there’s not whole damn much you can do about this.

Sometimes you gotta take a deep breath, accept you won’t get any sacrifices, and try to play in a way that still nets you a lot of BP, and still contributes to increasing your rank.

So here are some things that apply across ANY killer to ensure you still score really well.

    * Identify the best gens, in closest proximity to each other and guard them relentlessly.
    * Kick gens, then chase. Unless there are survivors bold enough to wait until the last second to get off a gen, hit them, kick, then chase.
    * If you’re against a team that are constantly out chasing you or outlooping you, and/or drawing you away from “your” area, then get your hit in, then abandon the chase, ESPECIALLY if you’ve been drawn too far from “your” area.
    * Pallets. This requires a bit of a judgement call which will only come with experience. You can either practice timing your lunges, with a 50/50 chance of trading a hit for a pallet stun, or just get better at pausing righty before you know they’re going to drop the pallet, and avoid the stun. In either case always kick the pallet to score yourself the points. Make a judgment call on either resuming the chase if they’re still close, or abandoning it to resume patrolling/kicking “your” gens.
    * So you’ve managed to down one of these jerks? Avoid spamming the “pick up” button straight away. If you happen to be near one, turn and face a wall or tree and then pick up, basically anything that makes it difficult for another survivor to get in front of you with a torch. If you’re a bit more out in the open, do a bit of a little patrol to be absolutely certain other survivors aren’t hiding behind line of sight blockers in the immediate vicinity. Don’t dawdle though coz most downed survivors will try to quickly crawl to somewhere that makes it difficult to find them again.
    * Getting them to a hook. If you’re certain there are survivors with torches, immediately look straight up as you pick up a downed survivor. Be sure in advance where a hook is in the direction you are going or hopefully you caught a glimpse of a hook aura before looking straight up.
    * Hook blocking. If you haven’t been holding on very long, drop your survivor. If you’re certain they’re gonna wiggle free anyway, get those hits in on the nearby hook blockers, get your points before the stun.
    * So they’ve managed all repairs and you’re at the endgame. Pretty much all you can hope for at this point is 2 things. Getting hits in on survivors you come across before the gates are open, hooray for you if you get a down and a hook. Otherwise if they have the gates open, expect that they’re going to hold the game hostage unless you go over to the gate they’re in and chase them through the exit. At this point, if you haven’t yet maxed out your Deviousness category, stay far enough of a distance from the gate that they can see you, but see you’re too far to be an actual threat, and spam as much deviousness scoring activity as you can until they’re too bored tea bagging and finally exit the trial. Eg. I main clown so I bottle toss till they get sick of it and finally run off and finish the game.

So in closing. These tips don’t help you get your 4 kills. They’re just a way to get the best score you can against these kind of survivors that are difficult to down and sacrifice. I’ve played against many SWF using the tactics you’ve described, and I’ve played in this manner, and it’s been quite satisfying to still be the 2nd highest scoring player of the match without ANY kills.

    * Don’t pass up damaging gens.
    * Break all dropped pallets.
    * Accept that the only other scoring you might get are from chases and single hits, not very many downs.
    * Spam Deviousness at the exit gates.

Please don't talk to me like i'm some nooblet who can't even sacrifice a single survivor without facecamping. I may have very few posts on this forum but I have over 223 hours of experience in game. I get that you are just trying to help(I think...never can tell with this often toxic community. :/) and not trying to talk down to me but I wouldn't be talking about several issues you only(or mostly) run into post rank 14 or so if I wasn't experienced.

Of course, after reading my reply to you, he will most likely change tactics in order to try and remain unpredictable as he keeps trying to make himself sound right and me sound wrong.

    Spoiler alert @powerbats :

    You won't.

Stop now before you make yourself look even more stupid.

facepalm I can't believe you actually went there... This toxic community NEVER FAILS to NOT surprise me.

I point out a glaring flaw:

“That which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence.” –** Christopher Hitchens**.

It's not a glaring flaw, you pointed out something you disagreed with and claimed it was a glaring flaw. Just because you claim it's a design flaw doesn't make it so.

    I'm just a bad player.

Glad we agree on that, it's the 1st step in moving on and becoming a better player.

I point out that you refuse to see the flaw:

No you point out that I refuse to accept your baseless and inaccurate claim of a design flaw. The only flaw here is with your refusal to accept you're wrong and it's not a design flaw.

    I'm just a butthurt troll.

Well again it's nice for you to admit it again.

What's next? Because I'm pointing out how toxic you are that I am "part of that toxic community" and that a person like you never does any wrong and is the most perfect and best player in all the multiverse?

Ah yes the typical Straw Man and Ad Hominem when you basically admit you have no real argument so you've go to resort to logical fallacies galore.

Still reading?(inb4 you say that you didn't bother reading any of this even though you did) Good. Because what I said was that you allowed being a fanboy to blind you to the glaring flaws in this game.

No you resorted to the typical troll insults because you knew you had no real argument and your made up claims got debunked.

Also: If calling you a "fanboy" is an insult then I'd LOVE to see what "a complement" looks like.

    noun
    1.
a male fan, especially one who is obsessive about comics, music, movies, or science fiction.

Huh, that's funny. It's not defined as an insult at all, in fact, I'd say it was the opposite of an insult! But what do I know, right? I'm just a butthurt troll according to you.

Ah yes more troll nonsense because you still have nothing, what's next more insults and childish behavior most likely given how quickly you went troll.

But do tell how a intentional design aspect is a design flaw when it's working as intended whereas Legions Moonwalking exploit is in fact a design flaw.

In easy to understand terms that means it's a design flaw or not working as intended.

OH, so you're THAT KIND OF TROLL... must resist urge to laugh manically.

Okay lets start from the top:

You claim I'm a butthurt troll because I point out a glaring flaw.

Have the gal to claim that I can't refute anything you pointed out when you pointed out absolutely nothing.(seriously, I wanted to ping you for this one from the get-go but I thought I'd try to remain civil)

In your latest reply to me you quote me out of context right and left in some vain attempt to piss me off so badly that your ill-conceived notion of "I'm right and they're just a nooblet" would be proven true as I fire back with insult after insult.

But wait... I'm not flinging insults at all, I'm merely pointing out the flaws in everything you've replied to me with so far.

You claim that if i read your other posts that I'd see that you post bug reports and stuff that helps the game improve... well guess what? I Checked your profile and all of your posted threads

You know what I found? A player who mostly complained about bugs that have zero impact on actual gameplay with the exception of a couple which are actually nerfs but you did a fine job of disguising them as a "buff" with your description and most of the others you whining and moaning about the game "not working".

Funny...what exactly have you done that has benefited this community? Because from where I stand, You've done nothing at all.

Hell, the ONLY THING you were right about that i got wrong was the pig's gender... Oops, my bad.

Oh and lets not forget the torrent of insults you've been flinging at me from your very first reply post to me. You're calling me a troll who is flinging insults because they have no idea what they are talking about? Look in the mirror bub, I think you'll find that you're merely looking at your own reflection. ;)

You could just you know adapt and get better in how you play and not rely on your reverse bear traps to secure your kills since they're for delaying the game.

There's several Pig mains on here that can give you good tips on how to play better instead of blaming game mechanics.

The ability to adapt and overcome a glaring game design flaw doesn't suddenly make it "not a flaw". It merely means you've accepted that the game mechanic is flawed and there's no use fighting it.

Well guess what? I haven't and won't accept it and Its people like me that have made sure the Brand New Part got its nerf and why DP is also getting its nerf!

Oh look a troll that can't refute what I've said and goes for the typical insult that work on 4chan but not here and the only one so blinded here is you.

You can't see past your own failings as a killer and refuse to accept that not everything is bad game design and instead look for excuses.

Oh good grief, it wasn't people like you, it was people of the entire community that advocated with well thought out and LOGICAL posts that got these changes done.

If the devs listened to people like you the game would already be dead which is a good thing they don't listen to people like you.

Oh and if you'd actually bothered to read some of my posts you'd see where I've commented on bugs that needed to be fixed, buffs for killers, nerfs for survivors etc. But that'd mean you'd have to admit you tried and failed to troll me before even getting your facts straight.

Yes but the difference between other killers and Freddy is that other killers can keep pressure on survivors with freddy they just run to a gen and purposely blow it up in their face or purposely fail and self-heal check and then there goes Freddy's pressure.

    Two guides that helped me.

Here is a wall of text guide on Reddit.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/deadbydaylight/comments/92hxzi/how_to_wreck_with_the_power_of_darn_an_indepth

    Other tips:
    1. Self caring survivors are often better than dreaming survivors, especially when gens are nearby, learn transition mindgames and keep them hurt.

    1. Don't commit to huge chases when you don't have to. If a survivor approaches one of those disgusting huge loops let him go, pull others in the dream world and come back later and catch him off guard and hit him, if he runs up to the loop again you simply let him go again for a little while or just bluff a retreat and down him.
If you have Insidious, break line of sight and stay nearby behind cover, surprise them when they leave or heal.

    2. Analyse the pallet heavens (lots) and deadzones (few/none). Priotize catching any sleeping survivors in the dead zone.

    3. The new surveillance is like gods gift for Freddy.

    4. When someone unhooks in front of your face, hit the rescuer first. Maybe pull some others in the dreamworld to deny BT activation while keeping them busy. If there is a third then its sometimes better to let both run off hurt and go for the third while both are waking up and healing.

    5. Your main addons will be Dresses, Claws and Range addons. The block addons will deny you the mindgames, they kinda suck.

    6. For Freddy, the game is often a war of attrition. Bait pallet drops when pulling survivors into the dream world even if you don't intend to chase them yet. Once their items and pallets run dry they will start getting downed fast, especially when you use Bamboozle.

    7. Most perks are good on him, but some favorites include Bamboozle, Pop goes the Weasel, Sloppy Butcher, Brutal Strength, Ruin, Make your Choice, Enduring, Spirit Fury, Nurses Calling, Surveillance and Insidious. You can use most of them in virtually any combination.

    8. Stay unpredictable. Thats very important.

Translation: Freddy is so underpowered that your reduced to playing mindgames in order to have a ghost of a chance of getting a sacrifice.
