You mean Billy....an M1 killer where survivors control the chase. That was my point, thanks for proving it.

Also survivors don't quite want those killers like that do they? they wanted nerfed Billy which they got, and now they want nerfed huntress which they will get.

What? Literally like no survivors asked for a Billy or Huntress nerf. The only "nerf" I've seen survivors want to Huntress in particular is improved hitboxes and changes to outdated addons. But not a straight up weakening to their base kit power. As for Billy, the overheat mechanic was something that almost nobody asked for. Stop saying sUrViVoRs aSkeD foR thiS and acting like they're the ones who got Billy nerfed, when in reality it was just a questionable, odd choice of the devs.

A lot of survivors don't give a flying ######### if the killer is strong or not. They just want a killer who is fun to face. Fun doesn't always mean weak either, like some biased people love to think. Killers who are strong but fun like Oni, Blight, Huntress, or Billy are almost never complained about by the majority of the survivor playerbase.

  • Killer isn't as impossibly difficult as some make it seem.

Dead Hard usually has a greater impact on a match than DS does.

For how many variables the game has, it's actually surprisingly well balanced.

I've never thought of that, but that's actually one of the best suggested changes to Spirit i've seen.

Survivors can sabo the closest hook then body block the next one. When the gates are powered, it's a guaranteed escape. This also renders Blood Warden useless.

If that many survivors are alive to all body block a hook in end game, you should be worrying about how you let that many be alive past 5 gens, not the body blocking.

But, even in your scenario, sabo'd hooks come back extremely quickly, and dropping only does 1/4th of their wiggle bar. Drop them once, force the others out, and get the slugged survivor. 75% of a wiggle bar is almost always plenty enough time to hook a survivor.

Like I said before, a niche tactic that is typically countered easily if you just play it correctly.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1938100#Comment_1938100

As I already said, killer blocking the hook was terrible. But why wasn't survivors blocking the hook removed?

Saying that the killer could just drop the survivor (would break free, because the devs reduced the amount of times a survivor can be dropped, back when dribbling was a thing) or hit the survivors would lead to the same outcome.

    So where is this fair?

Usually to break a survivor free it requires multiple hits. If a team is sitting under a hook all taking hits that benefits you. It hurts the survivors more to do that because they're not on gens, and you're getting free hits.

If you drop, it still benefits you. You get a slug. If you drop temporarily and hit them away, it was 33% of their wiggle bar, so you would still have 2 more chances to hook. Hooks tend to be relatively close as well so even if you did drop, usually it would still result in a hook if you played the situation correctly.

Bodyblocking to free a survivor was and still is entirely counterable and niche act of altruism that actually requires teamwork and good decisions. The killer variant on the other hand was literally uncounterable and the survivors had no way to do anything.

    They aren't equal.

  • Stridor counters Iron Will. Iron Will is pretty much the only actual counterplay to a Spirit that isn't deaf. Stridor takes that and throws it out the window.

  • @Tsulan said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1937717#Comment_1937717

Years ago, killers could body block the hook. Making it impossible for survivors to unhook. Because the "hold m1 to unhook" prompt wouldn´t show up. Just like it doesn´t show up, when survivors body block the hook.

It was removed for killers. Why wasn´t it also removed for survivors? That would have been fair, because body blocking the hook is horrible for both sides.

Because unlike killers body blocking the hook, the survivor variant is actually counterable. Funnily enough, bodyblocking tends to be more beneficial to the killer than it does to the survivors.

A killer can hit a survivor out of the way or drop the survivor. A survivor couldn't save against a bodyblocking killer or get them out of the way.

Doors are stupid for killer too. Oh I walked a few steps too far to one door instead of doubling back, now the survivor gets out, because exits only take 20 seconds to open. That's like nothing in DBD time.

If you made it longer than 20 seconds it would be almost impossible to pull off a gate in a 1v1 unless the doors were on completely opposite ends.

Doors and hatch are fine. This game is heavily RNG and luck based. So is hatch. That's okay because of how the game is designed.

You honestly believe that a survivor being able to run the killer for the entire match, with nothing that the killer can do, is comparable to Spirit? You can argue she is too strong, but you can do some things to stop her. There is nothing you can do about an infinite.

Okay but removing infinites was still a nerf though.

  • The only time I'll do it is when the connection is terrible for a game, or when I run a killer for 4 minutes and see my teammates all in the corner of the map doing nothing.

  • @Epsydra said:

Yep. I do not know where you get that "information". It's called extrapolation, budy. A new word that you can happily take out to your mistress to have a post-it.

I don't know if you only take into account the ridiculousness of what you're saying : I'm doing well in SoloQ, so I'm ACTUALLY spending my whole game in a patch of grass next to the door. Wow. The new Einstein. A flawless argument. You have to be a lawyer, right?

Aaah, misery, we are supposed to be the most intellectually developed species...

Continue, it makes me laugh :'D

    Let me guess ...

You must be the kind of survivor who insults an entire eight-generation lineage in the end chat because no one came to save you from a facecamp + NOED killer, right?

    You're adorable.

    The human mind is fascinating.

《If I can't do it and I have a bad time, it necessarily means that everyone else is in the same situation as me. If anyone claims otherwise, it has to be a liar》.

You will go a long way in life with such reasoning.

I could literally care less if someone saves me from a killer face camping with NOED. It really doesn't matter because at that point I should expect to die. So no, I don't get mad at my teammates when that happens.

You're the dude who comes in here telling people to git gud while you sit and look at a corner. Shockingly enough, solo queue is a pain in the ass when you actually play the game and not sit idle holding the crouch key for 10 minutes.

So, based on your arguments, either we play SWF or we play our game hidden in a bush. Rather, it's up to me to ask myself how you play.

I have wasted enough time on this subject. Keep crying on the SoloQ as much as you want, I have no problem with it.

By the way, go also cry on the NOED, on Spirit, Nurse, DH, DS, BT, etc.

This community can only cry anyway.

Whatever you say Bush wookie. Keep doing literally nothing all game and saying "sOlo Q diFfiCulT? GiT Gud" to others after you escape with your 8k points.

I don't need thousands of hours to prove to myself that I understand the game better than you do. Either way, it's ridiculous of you to put your playing time forward and desperately try to demean me.

You are proof that hardly anyone knows how to play without SWF.

You're so used to having dozens of second chances against the killer that you come to cry when he becomes a threat.

Yep, you won't always have someone saving you with a palette, sabotage, or flashlight.

Yeah, your allies might not have BT and DS.

Yeah, your allies might not be able to escape the killer.

    Etc.

Stop playing around in front of the killer, and then you will survive. I've never played SWF and I'm doing great.

Bro since you're so cracked let's see some video of you in Solo Q. I'd be willing to put my left nut on the fact you're the type of player to sit and let your team die while you hide in a corner.

Alright, guy, first of all, FNaF is NOT a kid's game.

Especially given the blatant child murder going on in the plot of the games.

Second of all, while yes, FNaF spam is obnoxious as hell by now, there's no need to be a toxic doichebag about it.

Ignore it if you don't like it. Simple as that.

Not a kids game but its primary playerbase is children.

As I've been going further up in rank I've finally clashed with the extreme gen rushing meta and I was wondering if any seasoned killers may perhaps give me tips on maintaining pressure whilst only being able to be in one place at once, particularly with a killer like Wraith, who has no built in snowball potential or pressure.

Please no git gud or ruin undying ez or whatever, just actual proper tips and ideas.

    1. Run perks that synergize well with the killers power

    2. Slug. Survivors hate it, but knowing when to correctly slug can slow the game down a lot.

    3. Watch good players. Seriously, this is probably what will help you the most. I'd suggest watching ZubatLEL for both sides and taking notes. ScottJund has plenty of informative tip videos as well. This helps with learning what you can do in certain situations.

    4. Watch back games you get stomped and see your mistakes. A big part of becoming a good killer is understanding that not everything is the games fault, and having the mindset that you could have done something better or different is a good thing.

    5. Adapt to survivors playstyle and analyze a survivor in their first chase to see what they do and change your style accordingly. Also, be unpredictable in chase. Don't let the survivor know what you're going to do before you do it.

    6. Know when to drop a chase or who to chase. If a game if going bad, don't commit to the best player, chase and kill the weaker links.

  • He's a blast to play and has been my main for a long time now, but he is a complete snoozefest to face. The threat of him being able to insta ADS basically allows him to zone just by existing and puts the survivors into a lose lose situation. This is what makes him frustrating to some players.

If console players were in this boo hoo unplayable mess, we wouldn't have rank 1 console Killers. I see them CONSTANTLY.

Rank 1 could be achieved by a caveman if you gave him enough time. An absurdly generous rank system doesn't give any excuse to ignore the glaring issues on console.

Console players are absolutely capped in how good they can perform in the game at base and with certain killers. PC killers undeniably have an advantage over console killers.

If you can blame your equipment, you can blame yourself for buying crap equipment. Solution: buy better equipment.

MW2019 is 4x the size of DBD with heavy graphics and still can manage to run at 45+FPS on PS4.

It's DBD itself being shittily optimized, not his equipment being bad.

    He's on a PS5 not a PS4...

On PS4 DBD runs at like 20-25FPS average.

And again, you are giving people a platform to be toxic to each other and evade punishment. A lot of Console players don't even have Crossplay on.

You have an option either way to hide it if you don't like it. If they're being toxic, what will it matter if your chat is off? It really isn't difficult. If you have it on, you know that there is a possibility of them being toxic. If you don't want that risk: turn it off.

Almost every large MP game has some form of a chat. I'd like to see it because I actually want to ask someone a question or just say something to a killer or survivor I had a lot of fun with. I hate having a fun killer or teammate just to find out they're on PC. It's frustrating not to be able to communicate with others just because of my platform.

  • @Pulsar said:

    Do not.

I already get hate mail on Xbox and I do not want to have an endgame chat where people can call me awful things and go completely unpunished

They give an option to hide chat on PC. If it were on console, they'd likely do the same. If you don't want to see the chat, you don't have to. But on the other hand those who want to chat get the ability to.

  • Idk why the animation team has such an obsession with making animations so damn stiff and awkward.

    LOL

    Blight: busted FoV

    Billy: trash since the nerf

    Oni: Billy with extra steps.

He said most survivors want fair, fun and balanced killers. Literally nothing you listed changes the fact that those 3 killers, for survivors, are fair, fun and balanced.

Also, Billy definitely isn't trash. He's still low A tier. Is he more tedious to play now and slightly less fun? Yes. But in terms of strength, nothing has drastically changed.

I absolutely agree with you about his overheat being unnecessary though. I don't see why they decided to put resources into changing a killer that didn't need change.

  • 1. Spirit. No explanation needed. Just pain and suffering.

    2. Hag. The campiness and chase aspect of the Hag just make her extremely boring for most to face and play.

    3. Pyramid Head Or Freddy. I lean more toward Freddy in general, but if were talking a Pyramid Head who knows how to use their power effectively to basically guarantee a hit no matter what the survivor does, I'll take a Fredward.

  • Tinkerer is extremely obnoxious on killers like Freddy, but it definitely isn't overpowered.

  • In my opinion, DS alone isn't even that bad. The only change that I believe DS needs is the ability to weaponize the perk.

The real issue is Unbreakable when it's paired with DS. That is when it becomes truly uncounterable. DS is relatively counterable when on its own, but if the weaponization of the perk is taken away, it will be entirely counterable.

If someone does it once every 30 games, it's probably an accident. If it happens every 3 games then it's a bit more obvious.

It happened to me 5 times yesterday in about 15 games because of frame issues. Unless they remove struggle button mashing all together, a penalty for suiciding on hook is just stupid.

  • I would sacrifice my left nut if it meant having old Freddy back. I would only play Freddy and I loved him despite how garbage he was. New Freddy is just boring to me and I haven't played him since my first few games with new Freddy.

  • If you're going for just purely strength of the killer, Hag is the one for you.

Imo, the more fun killer of the two, is Clown. Hag gameplay is a lot of teleporting back to the hook. A lot of people find her boring because of that, but you never know, maybe you'll like that style of gameplay.

  • Honestly the game wouldn't survive a year without new killers. The game becomes very stale after a certain point, and a new killer or map every 3 months is really all that keeps many of us here.

It's sad though that we would have to give up content for some time in exchange for a functioning game. That should never be the case in any game.

  • @slim0b said:

Some perks in this game are capable of being meta instead of the same 6 killer perks you see but the stupid basic attack requirements applied just restrict them.

    Knock out

    Surge

    Gearhead

Why do all these perks have this dumb requirement?

Knock out used to not have it and it was fine.

Surge? Infectious with gens, not an oppressive perk and you can get it to work on so much more killers without the requirement.

Gearhead? Can't you just make it upon damaging a survivor? Maybe you'll actually get some value out of the RNG based tracking perk then.

It's extremely confusing. 90% of the restrictions perks have make 0 sense and just make them more unnecessarily unappealing compared to the meta perks.

  • I'll usually always let a killer kill me if they're a memer. Nothing in this game is more enjoyable for me than playing against memers.

If a killer struggles but still plays nice despite the fact I'll let them kill me too.

Exactly what has changed in your "rephrase"?

    • The Clown now takes less time to reload, but more mobility? I give you an example that I saw earlier in the forum: if you want to travel 50 meters, at 4.6 m/s it will take 10.9 seconds. At 5.0 m/s it will take 10 seconds. It's a second of difference, not counting that later you will have to recharge the bottles (+3 seconds).
    • The "buff" to the Wraith would seem like a "buff" to me if it weren't because when you are less than 24m away they can see you again as before (it appears that less, but the thing is that they continue to see you).
    • With the Trapper you are also more likely to get out sooner from his traps (many times it has happened to me that they have been in a trap for a long time).
    • Iron Maiden will remain unused, and Undying now if instead of breaking Undying they break, for example, Ruin, it can respawn up to 3 times (in addition to the totem it occupies at the beginning of the game), so Ruin can go through 4 totems different. Now with this change if they break Ruin, they just have to search Ruin one more time and it will disappear. It will not appear in 4 different totems as before. You don't seem to know how Undying works 😂
    • Now with the buffs to the perks of the survivors, new combos will be created.
    • Trapper traps are a nerf and a buff.

I still don't understand. What have you earned with your "rephrase"?

"Now with the buffs to the perks of the survivors, new combos will be created."

This is exactly what people have wanted. New combos being created means less UB and DS.

Most of the player base of every game is terrible. DBD is nothing new.

DBD is different because at the highest ranks they're still atrocious. Good players are absurdly outnumbered by bad. You don't see this in games that actually are competitive like shooter games.

Unlike DBD, players tend to improve quickly in competitive games. DBD is casual, so they aren't forced to. That's the reason the majority in this game are so bad. Because it is very casual.

everything you mentioned is a mistake made by the survivor, not anything you did as the killer.

    Good survivors don't get tormented.

His attack is loud, directional, and has warning animations with a slow travel. if you hit a survivor behind something they either let you or are really yellow/ green ranks.

Good survivors will not let you animation lock them, and if they do they probably have dead hard to counter it.

A good survivor will get animation locked at some point in a chase, no matter how good they are. Pyramid Head has a lot of control over when that happens too.

You're severely underestimating his ability to get hits through his POTD.

This is not a question of my skill, like everyone makes it out to be. I get to rank 1 every season. I stay there, even with joke killers like Trapper. But there are some games I experience, at least a few times a day, that no player aside from a strong Nurse or Spirit could ever win. Maybe I could have won if I'd gone for the 4-man slug from start to finish, but how am I supposed to know ahead of time that's what's required?

Maybe I just play too fair for my own good. I hate getting hit by DS so I usually don't tunnel, but that's not good enough apparently because I can't stop the gens then. And there's no defending the gens with a low tier killer. Use Pop, Ruin, Corrupt or whatever you'd like, and SWF will blow through gens like your perks aren't even there. And people make it sound so easy when they say "Find the weak link." The weak link, in actual matches, never simply present themselves to you, and are usually carried by meta perks anyway.

So, I often find that my losses are due to things completely beyond my control, and that's the case when most red rank killers lose. Can I improve? Sure, but not by much. The game simply isn't balanced for good killers to win like they should. It's balanced around clueless, casual survivors who buy the game and drop it after 3 months.

"But there are some games I experience, at least a few times a day, that no player aside from a strong Nurse or Spirit could ever win."

A few times a day? I haven't had a game like that in months. Almost every time I get pummeled it's because I did something stupid and lost the game due to my own error. If it's happening a few times a day it may be a you problem and not a SWF problem.

They were as unbalanced as the time was. Pretending that killers only got buffs is just plain wrong.

Agitation and Iron Grip should still get a buff. Even if it's just in form of a progress bar. Right now it's just a wild guess (or counting the survivor grunts, which shouldn't be required).

I still ignore Ruin and pressure the killer by just holding m1.

Yeah, that's why most Nurse mains stopped playing her, after spending 250+ hours on her...

Since their nerfs I haven't seen a single good Nurse or Billy.

People stopped playing the Nurse because of the bugs. Their strength level base kit was hardly even touched.

Funnily enough, i've personally seen more good curve Billy players after the rework than I did prior to it.
