There is no singular reason that people d/c and I wouldn't want to see the game be balanced over people who rage quit.

Where did I say there was one singular reason people DC? There obviously is not.

That is kind of my point though. “The DC rate goes up when penalties are off” does not tell us why people are DCing, what state the match was in, whether somebody had already left, whether the player was being tunneled, whether the event or perk meta was making the match miserable, or whether they were just ragequitting because they got downed first.

Nobody is saying BHVR should balance the entire game around people ragequitting. That would be ridiculous. But acting like disconnect behavior should be ignored completely because some people ragequit is also a gross oversimplification.

The penalty can be necessary while still being a bad or incomplete solution. It clearly makes some people stay, sure. But does that mean they are actually participating? Or are they AFKing, giving up on hook, griefing, or just making the match worse for everyone else because they feel trapped?

You literally said BHVR should punish people who grief matches because they cannot DC. That is what I mean. A penalty does not automatically create a healthier match. Sometimes it just changes the way people check out of it.

So no, I do not think the game should be balanced purely around DCs. I think BHVR should look at DCs in context instead of treating one overall statistic as proof that there is nothing else worth addressing.

  • @Mandy said:

I would say (as someone who sees the data) yes Disconnect Penalties are definitely necessary, whenever penalties are switched off the DC rate increases vastly.

I mean, I believe you that the DC rate goes up when penalties are off. That is probably true.

But that kind of misses the point people are making. Nobody is really saying “remove the penalty and everything will be better.” The issue is why so many people feel like DCing in the first place.

Like okay, penalties make people stay in the match more often. Does that mean the match is suddenly fun? Does that mean the solo survivor who had two teammates DC is having a better time because now they are stuck with bots? Does it mean the killer in a 15 minute sweatfest against a coordinated group is suddenly enjoying themselves because they have a cooldown hanging over their head?

I am not saying people should just be allowed to DC every time they get downed first or do not like the killer. Obviously that would make matches worse. But acting like the penalty being statistically effective means the system is fine is a gross oversimplification.

The penalty might lower the number of disconnects, but it does not fix the reasons people are disconnecting. It just punishes people for getting to that point.

And honestly, stats alone are not enough for a game like DbD. You can look at DC rates, kill rates, escape rates, whatever. But those stats do not tell you how a match actually felt. They do not tell you if someone got tunneled out at 5 gens, got left with two bots, spent most of the match slugged, or had to deal with a coordinated team making the game miserable even if they still lost.

So yeah, penalties are probably necessary. But that does not mean the current system is good, or that it should be the end of the conversation. The real question is what is making people want out of matches so badly that a cooldown is the only thing keeping them there.

    I agree with you 💯.

The only thing I would say is, he is not a breeze to play as and win. At least not for me. That’s a skill issue on my part though. I can’t aim to save my life.

    I definitely need more practice.

Maybe something that could add is while he is in his power, the closer he is to you when he goes to teleport in or manifest in, it will slow him down a bit more. The further away no penalty. If that makes sense. To give the survivor a chance to get some space.

Right on, I get that. I think the biggest thing is that any new killer will have somewhat of a learning curve, as people are unique in their skillset. After watching some gameplay, I definitely see the other side as well. It may seem like a breeze to some, but others (the majority) are still having trouble learning how to handle him.

But good luck on the Voorhees journey, Godspeed Spiderman!

Crouch. Then he can't see you. Also I have yet to see his spear go around corners. That sounds like bad internet and not a "Jason" issue.

Yeah, I did the crouching it it does help, somewhat. But, it doesn't matter as he is fast pretty much all the time. It seems like a breeze to play him as killer and win.

I didn't mean it literally curves around corners. I meant it just like when a killer hits/grabs you after you've already vaulted or how wesker will grab you when you've already moved around the corner, or Huntress' hatchets.

I definitely is a network thing. Especially since the devs have yet to figure out such a simple issue: hit validation needs to be done on the server-side, not the killer's. And also, they can definitely prevent players from being able to start into a match if their ping is high as #########. There are so many games out there with a fraction of the resources that have accomplished this issue. I will never understand why they still haven't figured this one out.

All you have to do is Crouch walk when he goes into his power. Avoid Lockers because of Killer instinct and stay out of the line of sight when Looping. If you can counter Huntress and Spirit. You can counter Jason.

I hope this helps you out

I honestly didn't know that. Thank you, and will try this.

  • @MechWarrior3 said:

He has 1 spear. If he misses he gets slowed down, and he's back to 4.4

Personally…for me hes been quite fun to go against. I solo q most of the time and have done quite well against him. Huntress just keeps firing midchase and hardly gets slowed down.

Nah, that "1" spear of his literally moves around corners a bit, kind of like Weskers dash. Also, what's the point of survivors going invisible when when in Omnipresent Evil mode if hey can still see our footsteps all the time anyway? I get he's new and we're still figuring out how to face him, but the devs don't make it easy when it seems like his power has no counterplay.

  • @Galafure said:

You are right. But sadly you just have to look at this forums page. Click the home button and you get an error message. They have put so little effort into their own "official" page, why would it be coded better elsewhere. I am not being rude, but how can you expect a decade old game to be better when they gave up on their home page.

They didn't build this site, internally. This is a vendor hosted site. Any errors may come from vendor issues or a misconfuration on the admin side. That issue isn't derived from code, whatsoever.

But honestly, having a DC penelty in general is pretty lame. It made sense back before bots and the meta shakeup, but now it just seems like they're actively trying to push players away. The only people that stay and "have fun" are streamers, sweats, or those who just like to mess around. Everyone else (probably about 90% of the player base) is widely ignored when it comes to fun.

There is no such thing as casual/party gameplay anymore. It's literally all about the money and it seems the passion has left.

unfortunately time constraints was the answer for the reason they were not initially in PTB - whilst we endeavour to get as much for the PTB as possible, sometimes things can only go to Live. It's not something that we want to do though, we'd much rather have things in a PTB where they can be tested and subsequently adjusted before going to live.

Because for the Live release they had already been adjusted on that build, so had to be reverted, and there was no time prior to the release to get them reverted and tested - as certification processes mean that we need to get these things done early. So we kept them to the next available patch.

The absolute mind-boggling thing about this whole thing is that you guys are always in a time-crunch because of a schedule you guys created. Like, you can just change the schedule to better suit the time it takes to fix/add the needed changes to fix/add whatever issue/thing it is. You guys, BHVR, are putting yourselves in this predicament.

I'm 99% sure that everyone would rather wait a little while longer for patches/version updates if it meant that we'd be receiving well polished content where fixes and new releases actually work, when they drop. But, instead, because of this "time-crunch" we're given these half-baked updates where it seems a lot of the times it generates more bugs than was fixed.

I understand that you probably have more design developers that can knock out more of the cosmetic/map/ui bugs, but honestly none of that even matters if that state of the game or QoL isn't good. From where I stand, it seems like the priority of issues isn't where it needs to be. Every time you release patches it seems like you worked or changed things that the majority of us didn't ask or cared for. But, maybe that's just you guys not being transparent enough with what's being worked on. Even the smallest of game studios have a less vague roadmap or trello board so that we can see, in real-time, what's going on.

I know it's not my place but I just can't help but feel like the same "time-crunch because of arbitrary schedule" excuse isn't quite cutting it anymore. You either give a ######### about your game's future, or succumb to greed and let it take a long time to die. But if you choose the latter, then all the people that cared will be long gone because the game is just something we don't recognize anymore.

I can see them do this:

→ Increase undetectable to 45s each time he tps

→ When TP he gets 15 % haste for 30s

→ Decrease wind up time, increase movespeed while aiming, decrease retrieve time, increase hitbox

→ Replace KI from area to aura reveal

    → Make tp speed faster

    → make grab distance bigger

    → both iri basekit

It's wild that you think this is needed, in case this is not a troll.

This game i asymmetrical, not balanced to one side, but a little to the power side.

Just because you're outplayed in one match does not deem nerfs or buffs. It just means someone was more efficient with their build.

    This is like me saying:

    • Survivor gains 15% haste after each successful pallet stun
    • Every time a survivor vaults over a pallet, make their scratch marks disappear for 45s
    • When vaulting a window, decrease their hitbox
    • When KI is active, also give survivors aura reading to detect the killer
    • Making vaulting faster
    • Decrease grab distance when vaulting anything
    • Allow survivors basekit healing and sabo.
  • Uhh are you trying to say you deserve a free kill because the survivors are using strategy to try and save the downed survivor?

Were you literally unable to pickup the survivor from a bug or were you just in a position where a survivor could blind/body block/save?

If it's the latter then it's on your for getting yourself in that position.

  • Well ######### I was giving the developers grace with postponing the anti-slug/tunnelling update but it's becoming more clear to me that they're just ######### terrible and have absolutely no clue about their game's health.

I don't "main" either roles, I play them evenly AND I solo queue like half the time I play surv. As to when it comes to my non existent biases, I stand up for the little guy, which at the moment happens to be killers. I care about nothing but balance for DBD, I'm literally trying to join the balance team once I'm done school. You're crazy if you thought that update was balanced, of course I'm not gonna tell you what I and others have told other survivor players already, its getting tiring.

See I just don't believe you. And honestly, you're not fooling anyone. Even the devs have their preferred roles and bias', the only difference is they don't let it affect their work.

By no means are killers the little guys. They are literally the power role, they literally over-power survivors. I'm happy for you and your journey of schooling, but I hope you sit and learn about core principals and interactive gameplay.

I don't think it's clicking, the patch is literally changing core gameplay, meaning they're trying to make tunneling only a small part, only-necessary, part of gameplay.

It's balanced in the bigger picture, not the bias mind of one-side.

All that tells me is the dude has massive survivor bias. Id support that.

Besides, that was a super neutral statement. Tunneling is a problem, its just that what was planned wasn't balanced and reasonably was delayed. Idek how someone manages to argue something like that, but that is a major sign of unfair views, and I'm not wasting my time explaining to him why thats wrong.

Haha wow, you just don't quit, do you? Of course I'm a little bias, and I'm willing to admit it. But in all honesty can you say the same about yourself? Everyone is a little bias in the role they main. And if you stand there and tell me you're not, you're just lying to yourself.

Like, I didn't reply above when you said I was "massively survivor biased" because it wasn't worth the effort. You're holding yourself to a higher degree when clearly you don't see your own hypocrisy.

I've already stated my position in this, here and in other threads. If you can't stand to reason or even try to see the opposing side's POV then I don't know what to tell you.

When you take it to a political level everyone loses. No one wants to stand behind an extremist of either side as when the dust clears you wont like what remains.

That's true and agree with the political statement. But, what happens when power is abused, how do we change it? Because right now the pendulum is swayed too far the one side. It's meant to lean a little more on the killer side, but not this much.

All this proves is your instability even going on to talk about "buzzwords" like agency a real term used a lot in ASYM discussions or game balancing/development as a whole.

Then going on about being a "Martyr" like you didn't just drink the kool-aid you chugged the whole punch bowl. This isn't politics, its a game yet you speak like you hate killers with a passion and have some agenda for it.

    Instability of what?

Words, even used properly, can still be buzzwords. What I mean is that these terms are being used in almost every post, until it dies out again.

Are you not fully reading my posts? I never said I was being a martyr.
Also, if I had a tribalistic view, I'd be a dye-hard martyr for the survivor role. While I do enjoy playing the mouse more often, I still love the cat.

Man can you mouth foam any harder at the prospect of killers killing. With this comment on a post about perks only being nurfed for "one side" ignoring the nurfs for the other.

Seems to me you just have some tribalistic view that wants to make the other side worse because you have had a bad experience.

Uhh, is this supposed to be some sort of gotcha? I still stand by what I said. While it's not on topic, I still wanna hear your reasoning and counter-argument.

Also, if I had a tribalistic view, I'd be a dye-hard martyr for the survivor role. While I do enjoy playing the mouse more often, I still love the cat.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/456443/tunnelling-every-game-since-dbd-deemed-it-not-a-problem

Who said tunneling wasn't a problem? They delayed the chnages cus they were too extreme and punishing for killers.

This is just objectively wrong. Your claim is just further proof for you and others like you with having the inability to adapt and learn.

This patch was a change the fundamentals to the core gameplay. The devs have deemed hard(out the gate, at 4-5 gens)- tunneling as being something they don't agree with and furthermore goes against what I believe is their intended meaning of what they actually approve for tunneling/slugging/camping.

I don't know if you were here for the 6.1 patch, but the survivors were given no grace. All the proposed changes were pushed through; it was basically a survivor nerf and killer buff, which affected the core function of the game.

I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings and makes you feel like your agency (new buzzword) is being taken away, but unfortunately, is should've never gotten to this point in the first place. Recently, as a survivor main, I've been playing killer, specifically as Billy, and what I found was:

    • Breezing through a match, playing super chill, and being able to get a 4k
    • How I was basically in control of whether or not the survivors were allowed to win or not
    • messing around/intentionally throwing chases because it was more fun to play non-sweaty because I know what it feels like on the other side.

I was hit with flashlights, t-bagging, super hard chases where I was outplayed, but not once did I feel the urge to make someone else's experience miserable.

I don't know if it's an ego thing, but winning every single game (3-4ks) is not intended. Sure, later when you rank up, it becomes super competitive and that's fine, people are allowed to play like that.

But, you have to understand that if you're hard slugging and tunneling, you're eventually going to be matched against those 4-person swfs and ultra coordinated solo queue teams that are going to devour you, because they know how to play against hard slugging and tunneling.

If you don't agree, then I challenge you; dedicate 2-3 days as playing survivor. Play as good as you can, then come back and let us know your experience.

Your name literally implies that you play sweaty, so it's only assumed that you're part of the hard tunneling/slugging/camping issue.

Can you stop with the "us vs them" mentality? People actually care if the game is good. Its not always some conspiracy.

what about what I said indicates us vs them? And do you believe that this game doesn’t already promote that behavior? What do you think maining a role is? I think what need to be talked more about is how toxic behavior is poisoning this game. What about making the game fair for both sides is “us vs them?”

  • @Shinkiro said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3996958#Comment_3996958

And here comes the us vs them.

People on BOTH sides that are actually capable of rational and objective thought were agreeing how god awful and game breaking all these changes are, because they are. That's how you know how bad this was.

Your second sentence is literally what you are trying to do to killers right now, forcing unfair and aisine gameplay.

There's nothing wrong with taking the time to get this right for both sides. Anyone moaning doesnt want that.

Please, explain how this is us vs them?

You know what was god awful and game breaking? Ever since the idea of "meta shakeup," there have been lots of nerfs to survivor gameplay and perks. But you know what's crazy? We adjusted, learned to play with what we had. You wanna know the outcome? We've learned to loop, be team players (for the most part), coordinate, unless you were new.

Then, it became more of a challenge for killers. They either got outplayed and resulted to tunneling and slugging, or learned to play and got better. You can't sit there an tell me you play survivor and say it's fun and fair.

The killers that never adjusted and learn to play kept on tunneling and slugging, making it their goto strategy. It's fine in certain games, but not all the time. You abuse the style, you ruin it for everyone.

Also, if you play the game as intended and not comp style, you'll soon realize how much you've given a buff as the killer than the survivors get theirs.

  • @Abbzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3996949#Comment_3996949

Skill is very unbalencef thing in dbd depends on many rng factors killer there is huge difference between blight or clown, map there is huge difference between farm map or crotus asylum and perks play huge role with addons too not to mention mmr which can put 1k hours killer against four +2k hours survivor team and yeas p100 nurse/blight has still chance against that team without need of camp or tunnel/slug but p100 wraith or trapper will be getting lucky to get 2 kills so theres your skill and how long you were off depends too I returned after 1 year pause and hit mmr from the start and my survivors were litteraly headless chickens running in straight line with no clue about mindgames. Tunneling or sluging is part of the game and these changes should punish killers that slug whole team at 5 gens or hard tunnel one survivor at 5 gens but tunneling at 1-2 gens left when 4 survivors are still alive quite evenly spread hooks shouldnt be punished thats same like giving survivors 25% slower gen speed because they did 2 gens in first 2 minutes of the match.

The amount of hours put into a game isn't a good indicator for someone's skill level. I've faced killers and survivors who have outplayed me with only having a quarter amount of hours. People learn at different levels. That's why sbmm exists. If you took a year off and came back, you'd be placed in a lower mmr bracket until you climb back up.

Yes, tunneling and slugging is apart of the game, as confirmed by BHVR. But, I think they mean in certain situations. Not as the only strategy, Tunneling at 1-2 gens, even maybe 3 should be find. This patch is literally only punishing killers that deliberately tunnel right away and slug.

Be honest, how much do you play the survivor role, if any at all? Because I feel like everybody making posts add the little "I play both sides pretty evenly by the way" tag at the end of their posts but actually lie about it. You can't tell me you play survivor and think there's nothing wrong.

  • This is crazy. Do they realize how killer-sided this community is. Like of course killers are going to complain about learning to adjust and actually play the killer.

Like I've said before, the loudest voice in the community will control the flow of the game. Even if it's causes unfair gameplay for the opposing side.

  • @Abbzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3996899#Comment_3996899

I dont know why someone told you the killer is better now but its becoming more restricted and punishing for tactical strategyes like tunneling or slugging some changes are needed but whats in incoming patch is overkill especialy for weaker killers so if you like pig you will have harder time now then you had in 2020.

So, I've said this in other posts but I'll say it again here. Dead By Daylight is not a comp game, it's a party game. If DBD was in fact a competitive game, then by all means, tunnel and slug right from the start, but also know that in a comp game there would still be ways to counteract that. Such as, survivors having the ability to fight back.

This game is meant to be played where fun on both sides is the ultimate goal. Do you realize how hard it is, pre 9.2.0, to comeback from a 3v1 at 4-5 gens? Even 3 gens? It's close to impossible, unless you're playing with a highly coordinated team; which for solo queue, would be less likely.

Do you realize the buffs a killer would have by spreading hooks and not tunneling? Plus, you can still tunnel if you've already reached your 6 hooks. Because by then, there should only be about 1-2 gens anyway, unless you're a pretty skilled killer where you can achieve the 6 hooks with more gens.

  • While I don't disagree that people are using AI, I would like to know; what makes you think they're using AI?

  • @jokere98 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3995879#Comment_3995879

you still get gens blocked if you kill previously hooked survivor. This system does not care if you killed him at 2 hooks, or at 6+

If there are 2 or 1 gens left and it's a 3v1, I'd say the match would be pretty even then. Even if the gens were blocked, you can easily keep pressure on the survs. Plus, it all gets disabled when all gens are completed anyway.

  • @jokere98 said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3995835#Comment_3995835

"This update actually seems more like a buff to killers, actual skilled killers, because they don't just rely on tunneling or slugging, unless it's absolutely necessary, which the system already accounts for."
    how does it accounts for?

Late game, if the killer hasn't received any debuffs (sacrificing before 6 hooks, hooking unique survivors) they very well can tunnel and slug without being penalized and still take the game. I've faced killers who can get 6 hooks, uniquely, before 2 gens are even completed.

The devs want the killer to have the advantage, they will never create a system that deliberately takes away any of that, unless you abuse the system.

  • @ThatRyanB said:

This is precisely the kind of situation we really want to see players exploring, poking at, and testing on the PTB. There's a ton of nuance when it comes to tunneling and slugging, especially when you factor into each Killer's unique quirks like you mentioned with Trapper and Sadako.

I really want to stress the "Test" part of Public Test Build here. We want to hear what feels good for you based on your in-game experiences, and we want to hear about what's feeling off. Just because a feature hits the PTB in a given state, doesn't mean changes (i.e. value adjustments) can't be made before it hits Live - that's the big ol' intent behind the PTB.

While there's a lot to digest on paper, I'm really excited to hear what folks think in practice. Speaking personally as someone who loves playing Killer, I hear the concerns we've been seeing from Killer players, but also want to ask folks to give this a chance, as you may be surprised by how natural it feels (but again, we're here to collect and share your feedback!).

From my honest experience in the PTB, I found that:

    • It's very hard to get the 25% speed bonus, as a survivor, unless the killer is deliberately tunneling
    • Most killers, experienced killers, have already learned how to play carefully, resulting in them actually getting their buffs more often then survivors get theirs.
    • This update actually seems more like a buff to killers, actual skilled killers, because they don't just rely on tunneling or slugging, unless it's absolutely necessary, which the system already accounts for.
    • People being upset because they can't make their session 1v3 right away grossly selfish, and unreasonable. I don't think most killers realize how unfun it is when you're at 4-5 gens and it's already a 1v3. If they do, they're playing the game how it was unintended. It's not about winning the fastest, it's about having the most fun; so the killers that only tunnel, camp, and slug in order to win are now forced to learn to play, and are the loudest on the forums.

    The Krause:

Mid-day, day 1 of the PTB, I would've thought the killer was A tier, as all new killers appear to be, at first. But, after learning to play against them, of course I was able to have more interactive, fun chases, etc.

The only thing I will say is that there should be a bigger cool-down, if any, to when they can switch to the floating-head form. There have been many situations when I'm looping the killer and right away, they switch forms and zoom up to me then back and being able to hit me, or hook someone and zoom right past me, immediately switching to the floating-head form.

I also feel like it takes an extremely long time to heal from the Leached effect.

    Michael Myers:

This change has actually made them feel worse to go against. Their prolonged dash, I feel like they're even more stealthy and harder to detect.

Every killer I've gone against was able to knock me down instantly 100% of the time with their dash.

I hope those numbers are adjusted because I will straight refuse to play against the Shape if these changes go through. No matter how long my D/C timer goes up.

My biggest fear is that BHVR are going to make nerfs based on the loudest outcries; in this case, would be the killers who are now being forced to learn how to play properly and not rely on easy-to-win strategies.

Lets face it, these forums are extremely killer-sided and DBD has one of the most toxic communities.

There's already posts of people who haven't even played the PTB and are complaining about the changes.

  • The toxicity comes from being angry, in the moment. It happens to everyone, designated for any role. It's just human nature. The best thing to do is not let it bother you; just accept that toxic comments are coming from a moment of irrational rage. I'm sure the majority of people who, act this way (we've all been there), feel some remorse or regret after letting out their anger.

  • It seems to also be just a survivor thing. I queued up as killer and was able to get into a match.

    Edit:

Spoke too soon. As it was loading, I was sent back to the lobby, with the same error.

  • Nothing about mute focus not working properly in this hotfix?

yiiike.. People complain about aura reading? Alright, killer brings gen regression. Wait, ok, I see. that’s not fun either? Okay, how about a totem build? Oh no, Thrill of the Hunt is annoying and unfun too?

    Got it.

    Killer’s learning.

So now it’s a meme one-shot build—maybe Haunted, maybe Devour, maybe make ur choice, friends till the end.

    Wait what?

    One-shots are BS now too?

Okay okay… how about a no terror radius build? That’s chill, right? Oh no, going down because you didn’t hear the TR is ALSO unfair?

Alright then… but surely an endgame build is fine, ye?

Like No Way Out, Remember Me, Blood Warden… maybe a cheeky little NOED at the end?

WHAAAT, that’s unfair too?? Noed is no fun skill issue stuff?

Like come on… what exactly do ppl want the killer to play?? Holy *** :D

Maybe some of you just the ones who want ompletely remove 1 role from the map?

But hey, your precious little baby hands aren't being held, right? More like being carried

Oof, but like… who actually wants to be babysat in the moment when you can’t even counter perks that are easy to counter?

Syringe, used once, consumes the med-kit

I can counter aura reading perks so the killer gets no value from them. But someone who heals themselves with a syringe? In many cases, you just can’t counter that at all.

BT can be removed by hitting twice, which for most killers, is pretty easy.

Free BT is also not supposed to be “the killer can’t tunnel and I get out of prison for free.” It’s meant to do what it usually does in most cases: help the person reach a structure or tile they can use to work with, without going down instantly.

    • Nurses - used infinitely, not even a cooldown

Why does the perk need a cooldown? Have you even read the perk description? It doesn’t need a cooldown because it’s already naturally limited to the situation where the survivor is healing.
Counterplay? How about not healing within Nurse’s range?xD to simple? .. big ouufh, must be hard to hear, i know.
You barely ever see this perk because almost everyone understands that (even the bad players).

    • Killer instinct - used infinitely, also makes the surv not be able to detect terror radius (But no hand holding right?)

Which killer do I need to play to get “infinite Killer Instinct”?
On which killer do I have the infinite KI?

    • Awakened Awareness - used infinitely, no cooldown

Lol… nobody plays that perk. Like, literally no one—except maybe if they’re going for their adept. But if the condition “while carrying a survivor” already counts as “infinite” for you, then that pretty much explains where you’re getting your idea of “infinite” from lol.

    • BBQ - don't even have to explain myself

What’s your problem with BBQ? Most of the time, the killer is so far away you don’t get any value from it. Just position yourself smart, expect them to come, mindgame the aura. If you’re scared of mobility killers with BBQ, just be sneaky and dodge through some locker or something.

    • Bitter Murmur - used infinitely, for basically free.

That infinite Bitter Murmur… yea, we all know it. I’d love that too. Please put infinite generators on the map. Not only 5. Infinite pls! And for every gen they gone, Bitter Murmur triggers—so the “infinite” condition is always met. I’m all in :D

    edit:

If we’re already talking about infinite: maybe soon BHVR will release the ‘Infinite Cooldown’ perk — you can use it infinite times, but it’s always on infinite cooldown :D

What do you mean "People complain about aura reading?" Why wouldn't we complain about how much aura reading killers have? Do you think I always want to be found and not be able to mind game? It's basically a wall hack.

It's pretty bold of you to say that considering killers were complaining soooo much about a little fog vial that blocks out their precious little auras and scratch marks for a whole whopping 2 seconds 😂😂 talk about big oofs

I'm not saying killers can't have fun, but where's the challenge if everything is handed to them for the easiest of conditions.

oh cool, kicked a generator, guess I can see all survivors within my range which happens to be like almost half the map. (obviously sarcasim)

And you obviously didn't read my post if you think I'm using the term 'infinitely' the way you're presenting. Are you still in school? Maybe touch up on your reading comprehension? I don't know.

    I previously stated:

BNP - used once, removes 10% of progress. Sure, it's permanent but can easily be reverted back to 0.
Syringe, used once, consumes the med-kit
BT can be removed by hitting twice, which for most killers, is pretty easy.

    So in the context of:

Nurses - used infinitely, not even a cooldown
Killer instinct - used infinitely, also makes the surv not be able to detect terror radius (But no hand holding right?)
Awakened Awareness - used infinitely, no cooldown
BBQ - don't even have to explain myself
Bitter Murmur - used infinitely, for basically free.

Means I was using it in that these perks don't disable after being used. You can use them perpetually during the whole duration of the map.

And I hate hearing these terms like "meme builds," like it literally means you're trying to troll for the shear enjoyment of making the other side rage. I'm guessing you play with toxicity in your vains, eh?

You are a newbie right? And not really playing killers.

What about the aura reading perks on survivors, the speed, the slow downs? What about the BNP, the syringe, the dozens of 2nd chance perks? The built in BT? If those are "hand holdings" then definitely survivors have more of them

Nope, not a newbie, just sick of all the changes allowing killers to have it easier. You mean the second chance perks like ds (which deactivates after using it), even sabo doesn't show hooks when the killer is using some type of blindness perk. Speed? Like tool boxes? That's a joke right? The only thing toolboxes are good for, these days, is sabotaging hooks, even then, the charges run out.

    • BNP - used once, removes 10% of progress. Sure, it's permanent but can easily be reverted back to 0.
    • Syringe, used once, consumes the med-kit
    • BT can be removed by hitting twice, which for most killers, is pretty easy.

What other 2nd change perks are you referring to?

    Killer aura reading perks:

    • Nurses - used infinitely, not even a cooldown
    • Killer instinct - used infinitely, also makes the surv not be able to detect terror radius (But no hand holding right?)
    • Awakened Awareness - used infinitely, no cooldown
    • BBQ - don't even have to explain myself
    • Bitter Murmur - used infinitely, for basically free.

I can go on and on

How about we make it even and make some of these killer perks only used once, then deactivate.

    • How about make iri hatchet for Huntress only work once, per surv, then deactivate back to normal hatchet strength.
    • I wish I can look inside a locker and see the killer within my radius

There's even a bunch of speed boost perks given to killer, which adds on to their already faster walk speed.

There's even a perk that tells you which generator is almost done.

  • Killers want as much hand-holding as possible. What with all the aura reading perks, speed, slow downs, just remove survivors from the ######### game, as that's what it seems like.

  • That's what it seems like.

  • I want the option as surv to see which killer is in lobby, simple as that.

Is not fair i always need to go against a op killer with meta perks, gods at looping and knowledgeable at everything.

If i want a chill match i should be able to have one, so if i see the killer as op and i want a challenge i accept if i don't want to i don't and i go to another lobby.

Call me bad, tell me to git gud i don't care, i just want to have some relaxing matches, is not like that since 2019

  • Once again pandering to the killers, making survivor gameplay even less intriguing and boring. I understand the loudness, but the opacity and limited use changes are crazy. Every other Killer perk involves some obnoxious free aura reading, but god forbid we have one thing that helps counter that. They've already ruined distortion, what more do they want?

Really shows who the devs favor in the game.

  • Doesn't surprise me. This dev team always seems to break something whenever they put out a patch. It's funny actually because they're doing the opposite of what a patch does. You'd think after all these years they would've learned to test their updates and submit them for code reviews.

The numbers must say and show that most people struggle playing him and he is not performing as expected. Just because you found a few streamers that do well on him doesn’t mean it’s the regular thing. There are people who 4k usually on Freddy and that does not mean he is overpowered. The same way people need to figure out how to play as him, people need to learn how to play against him, and more people learned faster to go against him than playing as him because it’s way easier to counter him than playing as him. To this day there are people who struggle against Hag or Twins because they’re not used to different gameplay that these killers require against them. Practice makes perfect!

    Cheers :)

I understand, as well as everyone learns at different rates. In this case, it seems that it takes a little more to learn to play them than it is to play against them. I'm not saying this as just a survivor main, because it goes both ways. There is lots of hate against the knight and SM, but it's because it takes a bit more time to learn to counter them. Although, I think it's mostly because of the 3-gen issue.

  • @adaw0ng said:

As he is now prior to his buffs he is not that strong at all, he has a lot of counterplay. You just need more practice against him and know when and how to use the resources to counter him in chase + EMPs. It’s a struggle to play him now. Will see his state after the buffs coming next patch.

    Cheers! :)

Nah, I've seen streamers just rip through people seamlessly. I know the EMPs seem like they're happening way too much, but this dude can spam cameras. Sure, the EMPs destroys them, temporarily, but they can just spit a new camera right next to the destroyed one, and so on.

That same line of reasoning, "You just need more practice against him and know when and how to use the resources to counter him in chase + EMPs," can be used vice versa; learning how to use his powers in a chase can make all the difference.

I'm just saying, it's way too early to add in some buffs.

Nah, I've seen streamers just tear through groups of people using him. He's able to spam his cameras, like sure, the EMPs can disable them, but he'll just shoot another camera right next to it and then continue to do so after the EMP blasts. That same line of reasoning you used as advice can also go both ways with learning how to play him. It seems like the new Meta these days is asking for nerfs to counter-plays, because the player doesn't want to learn looping/killer powers.

It's way too early for buffs.

  • Same thing happened to me, except with a flashlight save. It seems to be when the killer loses their grasp on you from a "save" event.

  • I feel like them adding Nic Cage to the game is foreshadowing that maybe he's going to be the star of the DBD movie.

I think BHVR wants at least a 70% average kill rate

What I don't understand is why the kill rate even needs to be that high. It makes more logical sense for the kill rate to be 50%. Isn't that what balance is? And also, by their logic, wouldn't that deem their POV to be killer-sided?
