And why should bodyblocking the killer be toxic?

BHVR can't you guys make the overall grind lesser for newer players or Player who has jobs? I work like 8 hours on weekdays and I can't see how to get my remaining killer to get all the Perks or Complete the tome by the current deadline. I'm just speculating here but are you guys intentionally making the tome grindy af so that people like me buy auric cells to raise it??

Anyone else with the same sentiments? Not everyone is a streamer who can play the game 12 hours everyday or not everyone wants to play 12 hours a day just to grind!

I need a break honestly from DBD. Been playing almost every day since the mid chapter for Clown came out, was hoping I'd take my break last week but the event got extended for some reason? Yes I literally tortured myself with the very bad desync, and nauseating UI we had before the devs finally changed it. The event was a good means for me to get more points put onto my survivors, and try to get every perk on all survivors... Last week I didn't really play the game to much as well as earlier this week, because I just wasn't having fun with a lot of my games. I turned cross play back on for the first time since it came out because the optimization was really good for the mid chapter, but once I started encountering hackers it's gonna be turned off permanently until an anti cheat system is put into the game. Wanna get back to Crash 4 since I haven't beaten that yet, and would eventually like to play Path of Exile since the game went free not to long ago. This is one of the many great things about taking a break from DBD, feels nice to be able to remove that massive rock off your back. Probably won't be playing the game again until the week before the new chapter, but we'll be keeping my eye on the forums. So to anyone who isn't on a break have fun!

    Don't delete play something else😂

I started playing DBD because of the killers and Played with all of them... I started with the wraith, I loved the "fake" stealth but as I got to better and better ranks, survs just started getting more and more toxic, constant flash clicks, constant teabag, and constant sabosquads... So I had to adapt, started with the doctor and everything was fun again... you gonna body block to unhook? I will shock you to oblivion, gonna flash stun after a pallet? shock, gonna tried to save your teabagger friend? blast and hit. But once again I got to even higher ranks and I started getting constant SWF with map offerings and keys, SWFs with the same clothes, and once again I adapted, I got around playing Freddy, and now? I am dirty Infinite Freddy main with Mori in almost every match...

Before you downvote and judge me... Think... Are you creating the toxic killers that you complain about so much?

You may think that it is childish and toxic to the game and maybe you are right. But I just got tired of getting spammed with toxicity, I got tired.

Have yourself a good day, and may our paths never cross on the trials because you will be here complaining about me.

Yes finally someone who gets my day bout dbd 😂🤣

So because the teaser we got is really short and I'm trying to latch onto anything I can to try and find out what the ability might be, I've become interested in the part of the video where the track is rewinded. This makes me think that rewinding could be part of the killer's ability. I made a fan chapter one time with a killer who's ability allowed them to "rewind", quickly returning them to their location a few seconds ago. My guess is the ability might include something like that. I also considered it was included just to pad out the run time of the trailer, but I feel like the track easily couldve just looped a few more times if the intention was to make it longer.

What are y'alls thoughts? Is the rewind potentially relevant, or am I just grasping at straws here because I just gotta?

I also think that this is in fact the killer teaser, cause the teasers usually are, and the screen we saw had a blood stain on it.

It be better if Jason was the next killer

    Okay here are my thoughts.

1: The survivor might be some kind of pop star, more specifically a K-Pop singer. People have said there's Korean text. Also, Magnum Opus is when something reaches its peak art and creativity which also enforces it.

2: The killer might have a strong emphasis on surveillance systems or has a strong correlation to them.

3: It might not be a licenced chapter. I really don't know what other character has that outfit and hairstyle. From most of the horror movies and horror games I've seen, this might be a unique chapter.

Feel free to add more to this.

    Maybe siren game

The Spirit in my eyes os the only killer in the game that needs a heavy nerf. Her phase walking is definitely one of the worst things to go against as a survivor.

The real problem likes on that there’s almost literally no way to tell where she is going or coming from, and as a survivor, it’s your task to figure out a way to get away from the killer but how can you do that when you can’t even see the killer.

Other fast traveling killers have a way of telling you when they’re doing it: Legion makes your heartbeat fast, Billy’s chainsaw can be heard, nurse faces a direction and has a trail showing where she is blinking to, blight literally makes a sound when he dashes. The spirit however has no cue other than a sound, and it’s pretty difficult to determine where it’s coming from either.

They need to make it so we see glimpses of her as she is phasing so when can better determine what she’s doing, her gameplay is way too guess filled and just like huntress main who know how to hit shots with iridescent head (which has been in the game for the entire time she’s been added and is still a major problem) is a little overpowered

Killers should be heard not seen😁

I'm a killer main and I got tilted and played survivor for a few weeks straight. Its definitely an eye opening experience. I see how I normally play and how the killer plays. Its easy to misconstrue actions on both parts leading to toxicity. Tunneling and camping was so bad, that I really try to go out of my way to not do it so the survivors can have some fun and get BP.

I think bones help give survivors more objectives, but it's not THE objective (well not until NOED activates lol)

I do think survivors are essentially reskins of meta perks. I think that if survivors should have a bonus if using exclusive perks almost like a 4th tier. This will make each survivor unique and make the killer think; are they running standard builds or are they running a possible tier 4 build?

I think another interesting aspect would be survivors to lay down traps to slowdown the killer. I mean we see it in most movies where they barricade a door or set up a basic trap to slow them down (Scream is a great example of this). Tradeoff would be killer has to get something in return as balance (trap setter itakes 45 seconds to set trap and is exposed 45 secs after setting trap or only obsession can set 1 trap at a time). I think that would add more dynamic to survivor gameplay and would slow down game since trap setting could take 90 seconds or 1 gen

Same here I try to not do all that I make fun & I try scare the stit out of you as well🤣

Just had a match where everyone was constantly grouped together and the minute I hooked someone they would unhook. Of course most of them had Dead Hard except one. They kept trying to bodyblock and would never leave the hook so forced me to camp. Finally downed the one who didn’t have dead hard and killed him. Everyone else escaped. Think they were a team cause I could never find them for the longest. Also I’m low level Killer 13. Getting ranked with sweaty tryhard reds. The one I killed messaged me accusing me of tunneling and I need to get skills. It’s not my fault they all hovered around the hook and I couldn’t leave. I seriously wanted to DC cause it was the swamp, everything was dark and all everyone do was crouch. I only get one kill and I get hate for it. And of course these survivors were toxic. Constantly tbagging and such. I managed to hook and chase others so I wasnt tunneling. I mostly camped the dude during endgame cause they were constantly around me. All of them.

It made me feel like a loser honestly. They had all the advantages in this match and I had practically none. I was the Huntress. I can throw a hatchet....yay. Honesty doesn’t make me want to play Killer anymore.

When I first started they said that to me to chasing someone isn't tunneling they just got mad cuz you killed them😂

To be fair those are not mid chapter patches but hotfix patches, but yeah sounds like.

Difference being you can probably expect both of those within a few weeks and not within a month or more.

BHVR is very, VERY slow. The fact they even told us anything is a huge surprise, the fact we have a rough guessable ETA and such is actually surprisingly decent of them. If they could actually get things moving at a decent pace for once I would actually be fairly happy with how they handle things.

Unfortunately BHVR moves at a snail's pace; so it will still be a while. Still, this is better than their usual "Lets ignore it for 3 - 6 months" tactic.

Also had a incident when you playin killer the survivor dissapears & survivor has invisibility

  • @FogLurker said:

There just needs to be more incentive to queue as killer. Perhaps something like they do in some MMO's where if you queue for a specific role that is lacking people (Tank or Healer), you get bonus items or experience. Since killer is always lacking in the queue compared to survivor, there should be a BP multiplier based on how badly the difference of Killer to Survivors there are in queue. The worse the difference, the higher the BP and it lessens if the queues are better: x5 BP, then x3, then x2, then x1.5, something like that.

Also something that would help that was mentioned earlier is duo killer mode because as of currently, I play DBD the most when I play with a friend and since it's 2 of us, our only choice is survivor even though both of us prefer killer. So until such a thing exists, it's mostly Survivor until you can play with friends as killer.

    People scared they play survivor

These are just random lines I thought of. It's not a suggestion since I don't expect them to ever be added, but still, fun to think about.

    Start of the trial

"Let's make this one to remember!"

    "They won't see me coming."

"Where, oh where could they be?"

Opening a locker with a survivor

    "Peek-a-boo!"

"Heeeeeere's Johnny!" (Don't lie; you imagine him saying this)

    *no lines, but low chuckling*

    Stalking

    "I see you!"

    "Shhh, stay like that."

    "I'll remember these [moments]"

    Marking a survivor

    "You're next!"

    "Better run!"

    "Now the fun part!"

    Post-Mori

    "The perfect shot!"

    "That's a keeper!'

    "Another for Philly!"

    Hooking a survivor

    "Sorry to leave ya hanging."

    "Now, stay put."

    "Bye-bye!"

    Survivor survives being marked

    "Dammit!"

    "It was so close...!"

    "Don't worry. I won't forget you."

    Downing a Marked survivor

    "Who's next?"

    "You should feel honored."

    "Sorry, pal. Not your night."

    Closing hatch

    "Time for a hunt!"

    "No escape for you."

    "Ready to have some fun?"

Or 1 2 Freddy's coming for you lol

As the title asks, you have a 4 second stun on a non-lethal power, while you watch survivors run away. On top of that when you slap someone it takes away from your power meter.

To me the 4 second stun is absolutely horrendous to play with on a power that does so little. Plus deep wounds is a joke of a status effect, and their entire power is based around it.

As compared to blight who only suffers a 2.5 second stun on a power that can actually down survivors.

    Anyone else feel this way?

Yea Killers shouldn't have a delay when you hit a survivor

I’m not a super good killer by any means, I’m only a green rank and I play on console so my experience is drastically different than a red rank on pc, but playing as a console killer is next to impossible due to the limitations of a controller, especially with the cross-platform system consistently matching me up against survivors on pc. Using a controller makes it harder to chase and hit survivors and causes you to eat up valuable time that could end up losing you the game, especially in game-deciding scenarios. Not to mention killers like huntress and deathslinger are so much worse when using a controller due to the lack of an aim assist (not saying that there should be aim assist for ranged killers because that would hellish to deal with). I’m honestly surprised that bhvr hasn’t already added mouse and keyboard support for console, it would make the game so much easier for console killers and it would kill off any problems caused by using a controller.

I play better on console then PC

It is just a thing to try cause why not? It is not the end of the world, and it is a game that you play for fun (at least most people do). First off, I do want to say that implementing these features would need massive changes in perks and gameplay in general, something that would most likely never happen. So, anyway, this is just a little post for fun.

Remove TR, Red Stain, and Chase Music-It seems the only times I’ve seen people be scared is when someone sneaks up on them. I would love to get scared more often. I just feel like it’d be scarier if Survivors didn’t have 100 different things that let them know where killers are (not hating on survivors)

Remove/Change Aura Perks-Perks that reveal auras, at least for the other side, would be removed. This goes with the whole stealth concept.

Scarier Maps-The devs are implementing darker and horror themed maps already, and I love it.

Prioritize Hiding over Looping-Lockers would be a tad more prevelant, along with other things Survivors can hide in/near.

Perks that implement different hiding styles-Things like Iron Will, that’ll allow survivors better opportunities to hide

I might add more things later, but these are my ideas atm. I’m not trying to nerf killer or survivors, nor am i saying that this should happen. Just ideas

Killers should be heard not seen redlight needs to be gone

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Almost every single time I watch the last survivor in the game and the killer does this, they either A) pull them off the gate, B) down them right before it opens or C) down them right after it opens. The killer then hooks or moris the survivor. Sometimes they go so far as to let them crawl until just before they can escape before hooking or killing them.

Yes there are occasions when the killer is genuinely being friendly but they're so rare that I gave up long ago. I don't struggle, recover, try to open the gate, or move. I'm not giving anyone the satisfaction of pulling one over on me and the potential reward is 5k bloodpoints.. I'll pass.

If they drop me ON TOP OF the hatch of course I'll take it. No way I'm crawling to it though 😅

Keep your blood points, Entity, you're not getting an ounce of hope from me!

Right now all survivors are interchangeable with teachable perks, any survivor can use any build. How about balancing the game a bit and give survivors ultra rare add-ons like killers have? So Claudette could have something like ultra fast heals or Nea could have no exhaustion balance landing. Give the survivor add-ons which are specific to their unique Perks. It could make the game more interesting and challenging. Most of the junk you get on the bloodweb is useless or has minor impact on the game.

Seriously some of the stuff killers get is insane in making the game unbalanced. Mike gets unlimited tier 3? Yeah try countering that. But with a little balance the killers could be forced to work instead of just using endless clutch add-ons.

That would t make sense survivor has killler perks

    • Why I am thinking that DS is kinda op ? Because when Enduring still didn't have nerf BHVR decided to buff DS and then nerf Enduring but they totally did nothing about DS and one thing, this one perk is strong and with combination of unbreakable, dead hard, adrenaline it's just to easy !

From perspective of normal main Killer it's irritating that one ######### uses DS I dunno, in locker. Yes DS is working even when you are not getting tunneled, repairing gens, hiding in lockers. Like I know some of you maybe are gonna be salty about it. But did you know that 2 workers is working on balance of the game and BTW - They are survivor main. Maybe some of you know that DEVS aren't really good at game and they know it but still they are thinking about them as GOD of this games and when they duck up they match, they are like "ok, (killer) is to OP we have to nerf him". I know that NOED is OP and maybe other perks for Killer, but still you need skill for them (NOED is for low skill).

I would really like to what you are thinking about it. But please don't be salty survivor complaining how Killers are Over powered because you are bad in this game.

Recent patches (4.2.0+) have KILLED the game's performance, I remember being able to run the game at 60 FPS at low settings without issue even with my 2 year old low-end PC before and now I'm lucky if I can get 40 without stretching the resolution. I have read about how it gives me an unfair advantage and I feel gross doing it but it's really the only thing that's working for me. Somebody please tell me they are doing something about performance.

I do not enjoy playing stretched because it looks blurry and gives me vertigo when I play for too long (besides the fact it's borderline cheating) but If I try to play without stretched, the fps often goes below 20 which is virtually unplayable for killers like Nurse which I play a lot of. I have tried to but simply can't stay away from DBD for more than 2 days, it distracts me from IRL issues so "just stop playing until they optimize it" doesn't cut it. I'm in college so it's not like I have the money to just upgrade my hardware which used to run the game just fine. I hope they fix this soon. Don't know what I'll do for fun if I end up getting banned for using stretched to be able to play.

But you didn’t just “disconnect 1 time yesterday”, you disconnected multiple times in the course of a couple days. You obviously must have seen yourself getting longer and longer bans, why did you keep playing? Just stop playing and figure out what the problem is if you can.

Think of it like quarantine. They’re blocking you off from spoiling the games of the other players that you are disconnecting from. Even if it’s not your fault that you got sick in the first place you shouldn’t keep going out and risking other people’s games when you know this is an issue.

Dcing penalty is great glad they inforced i had one game 3 survivors dced had one survivor found em & killed them

    title.

Recently I made a thread about what defines counterplay for me, asking for what defines good counterplay for others.

One of the reasons was that I've been wrecking my head if there is any actual counterplay to Freddy that isn't disadvantageous to survivors.

Like, with killers like Deathslinger, who's continuously tooted to have no counterplay, you do have the means to counter him in ways that hinder him (like going round in pairs to break the chain easier etc resulting in a stun for him and the reload time, while going in pairs also reduces repair time for survivors)

Spirit has inconsistent counterplay, but there is some that hinders her while giving survivors some benefit timewise.

But freddy? try as I may, I can't think of any.

Once you are asleep, you suffer from Oblivious, there's no way to avoid the snares (which are infinite iirc? correct me if i'm wrong), he can teleport willy-nilly etc.

Now, sure 'waking up' is a kind of counterplay, but not beneficial to the survivors, but to freddy.

missing a gen gives away your position AND skillchecks are random.

finding the alarmclock takes away precious time and you have to avoid freddy.

getting woken up requires another survivor to be awake.

I really can't think of any genuine counterplay, as there's not much to actually 'counter' him. it all seems to work to his benefit.

    1 2 Freddy's coming for you 3 4 better lock your door😂

I'm not new to the dbd community, but recently I had one of the most hilarious encounters in my life. I have been wondering, however, what the dbd community thinks about this encounter of mine.

A little stage-setting, I'm a killer main, typically sitting around ranks 10 - 8, not because I can't get to red ranks, but mostly because red rank survivors are more commonly toxic. Rank reset comes around, and I'm at rank 12. I decide to do a meme loadout on legion, bringing fatigue add-ons and a really bad ignore-the-obsession build (stbfl, pwyf, dying light, and rancor.). I get a pretty average lobby; a david, bill, zarina and a p3 claudette (All but the Claudette are crossplay). To my disappointment, someone brought a game offering, and my rule is "game offering = no mercy." But as soon as the match started, the zarina DCed. This conflicts with the game offering rule, because if someone DC's like that I typically play a lot nicer and try to give hatch. So I decided to just play normally. It's a pretty easy win, obviously. And I don't regret playing normally for that match. I didn't give hatch, and got a good 42000 bp (doubled by an anniversary cake I brought). In the chat, the Claudette started flaming me for not giving hatch. I laughed and said the game offering counteracted the DC. And then she -get this- told me I was a bad killer because I didn't give hatch, and that it was no wonder I was rank 12. She continued like that for several minutes before leaving the post game screen.

Now, don't get me wrong, I love this kind of thing. Seeing this made me laugh harder than I ever have at dbd before, and probably ever will. But I want the dbd community's opinion on this. Survivors and killers of all ranks and toxicity, give me your opinion and/or tell me how toxic I am.

Your not Your a great killer

  • @AskingForHelp said:

I don’t know what kind of stats you devs use to determine which side needs to be reworked. But as far as I can see based on my experience playing both sides I find that I have a way easier time playing killer than I do survivor. It seems my teammates get ran on consistently and I barely make it out once every 4/5 games. I think some of these maps are too small for many of the killers’ speed/abilities, lack of decent hiding, poor pallet placements, and vaults can be too easily walked around due to the fact that walls are never long enough to make a difference. When I play killer I do not really have a hard time getting at least 2 kills every game. But the majority of the time it is 3-4 per match. Survivors have to work hard for very little reward and killers easily reap in way too many points. It is a little stressful at times dealing with the good survivors. But the hiding spots are just becoming too obvious that I don’t really get fooled. I think the hardest part is dealing with the 360s. But why do survivors have to do that to get a chase to last longer? The game should naturally have stuff in it that prolongs a chase. It’s too easy to down, hook and kill. Especially when you consider the add ons and Mori’s. It’s pretty bad. I understand as a survivor you are 1 of 4 you’re not meant to 1v1 the killer. But you should definitely think about fixing some things so they can have a better chance at not going down. Killers have too much regression on survivor objectives to keep up with the rate that killers do their objectives. I do it all the time. Pop is OP 😂

Same here I can play killer better

No one ever just pumps out gens, it’s always trading up. I start with one, someone goes for the save and fails, and then the others try to save the two. And these are red rank survivors mind you, no clue what the deal is with that.

I play both roles. So no, it’s not “us vs them”.

I’ve been quick to pick up on a bubba camping the basement after hooking someone down there. So I’ll go jump on a gen.

I end up dead anyway. Why? The other two survivors refuse to acknowledge that rescue is impossible and so will hover around the basement entrance thinking something magical will happen that will allow them to rescue whomever is down there and not also be hooked as well.

I don’t think I need to explain what the ACTUAL outcome of those 2 survivors is.

    It's like s lights to a insect 😂 survivors can't help it

Survivors are not allowed to use DS, unbreakable, OoO etc

but I AM allowed to use insta downs, moris, every single strong perk possible and the reasoning is "im the power role"

so you tell me.. ME who has to deal with

    -potatoe teammates

    -Dedicated servers, hitboxes, bloodlust

-unsafe pallets in every corner, dead ends

-insta downs, moris, strong killer perks

even tho i need to deal with more things then you can imagine its a a.s*ole move when i bring strong perks?

BUT "survivor playing is so easy LMAO TROLOLOL"

yeah its very easy especially when you get dedi hits in every corner. go play soloQ with potatoes and lets meet again.

you dont want people to complain about your noed and mori then you also shouldnt complain about some solo survivors bring some perks to survive longer because they dont wanna get tunneled at the beginning of the match.

You are the survivor or the killer do what you want to do

  • @Raz_ said:

I decided to play one match today.. my teammates do nothing, i get hit by dedicated hits... i took a breath and ALT-F4 and wont touch this game again in the near future, im so sick and exhausted really.

    -Maps

    Either survivor sided or killer

    Dead ends

some maps have a crazy amount of pallets like fractured cowshed/Ormond

    Haddonfield is very balanced btw

Hawkins, dawg saloon full with unsafe pallets.

    Dedicated servers

Hitbox of survivors size of my refrigator

Bloodlust still not punshing, getting dedi hits and having a huge hitbox is already not enough not even talking about some maps having tons of dead ends.

ranking system/Ranking = everyone is a rank 1 nowadays means even a rank 15 reaches that rank and will play with me against a real rank 1 killer what makes the game just a frustrating experience

Killers also reaching rank 1 when they're supposed to be rank 10 because they get boosted by the baby survivors who easily reach higher ranks.. at the end killer disconnect against good survivors because they got boosted by baby survivors.

    SWF

M1 simulator as survivor, boring as hell.

playing solo against, moris, insta downs and all that sh't

    keys = BS

    the grind

performance/bad optimization (luckely i have a decent pc and can run it without issues but i heard a lot people have issues)

Events are = non existence, we just get stuff for free or BP events instead of playing a actual event where we have some fun

Camping, Tunneling big issue and unfun

there so many things what makes the game just not fun anymore and the list can go even further but i stop.

im just done with DBD for now, i spend around 600$ for this game, but what have the devs done for me or the community who supported the game financially? NOTHING! keep making people quit BHVR.

It...kind of is falling apart though. This is by far the most broken and bug-ridden update they've released in a LONG time

    @Hex_Stalk said:

Seriously, I don't give a damn about the disconnect penalty when a match is straight up UN FAIR.

Devs, see how survivors can be the sweatiest little tryhards in existance, see how camping and tunneling is boring and unfun, see how ONE objective for survivors has gotten boring and tedious. You say you want the game to be enjoyable when time and time again you have done the complete opposite, allowing patches to come out broken to the point where half of your community can't even play the game optimally.

I'm sure I speak for most of the community when I say this, we don't want better graphics, that isn't our top priority, we want a game that WORKS, is FUNCTIONAL, and FUN.

What's the point of the ptb if there is STILL problems upon release of an update?

I can only see this game dying sooner rather then later if something isn't done.

This is just for people like you

  • @Barlor said:

Yo, there is tons of threads in there about tunneling and camping, and how it's legitimate strategy and nothing wrong with that. Lately more posts stating, that it becomes more frequent so I just wanted to share a thought.

I'm, or I see someone else being tunneled ridiculously often. Few days back then I stumbled upon guy with steam profile description along the lines of "I'm camping, tunneling and I don't care what you whiners call me, I'm playing for my fun and I'm not gonna stick to your rules"

So, considering how majority of players thinks it's legit and ok, I feel like I actually should join them in that. I started playing game mostly as killers, so assume I'm killer main (more like 75/25 killer/surv), and apart maybe from the time I was learning the game I wasn't tunnelling consciously, unless guy ran straight onto me.

Recently I started playing surv more often, because I'm playing with friend. Due to constant camping and tunneling I just feel like there is no fun in playing surv, so I'm quitting this side, but I'm thinking about going back to killing. And not the nice guy killer. I've turned bitter, and as I said I feel like joining in what most of killers are doing rn, tunneling and camping. If they said themselves it's not reportable or anything, I'm gonna camp/tunnel people all the time, hoping they'll stop playing. Maybe if number of survs/players plummet, they'll address this type of playing somehow.

Honestly I doubt it, simply looking at forum, seeing threads about keys, moris, perks, addons being unbalanced and so for so long (at least now they admitted they are "looking into" keys and moris, and actually changed few perks for what it's worth)but imma give it a shot anyways.

Summarizing I'm just gonna repeat what most of you already know, that devs' priorities are BS, releasing new dlcs and skins, without focusing primarily on fixing old content, changing graphics instead of game mechanics and working on balance.

Cheers and have a great day.

Killer is funer anyways your making good choice

Sadly it seems that these fps issues are making us all die during struggle phase VERY consistently. 4th game in a row frames drop and I guess it doesn't register me struggling....fml. To all you fellow ps4 survivors this reminds me of raiding in wow on my toaster 2000s PC back in the day....miss a few frames and hope your not dead when it catches up 🤣

To all PC survivors watch out in your lobbies but remember it's not our fault 😥

You just mad cuz you don't know how to play try console it better

  • @Xbob42 said:

Had a game go pretty badly, all four survivors made it to exit gates, beat me real good.

So I notice they're healing at the exit gate before I get there, so I decide to just let them get their heals off for points. I go and get something to drink and use the bathroom real quick (not in that order).

I come back and there's like 6 seconds left on the timer and they're just now leaving. I assume they were just... sitting there? Waiting? Do you guys not want to get into the next match or something? I can't imagine it's very exciting just like standing there for 2+ minutes.

None of them were teabaggers or clickers or anything during the match, and they said the typical gg afterwards, so I can't imagine they were just waiting to teabag me, as they seemed perfectly nice. Do you get more points for late escapes or something?

    Dam door campers😂

I just came out of a game as killer where the survivors hid the entire match and never did a single gen, so obviously they all got sacrificed. However, to get the win, I had to play a game that was very boring and over an hour long with only a "brutal killer" ranking to show for it. If I wanted to leave the match and move on, I would have been given a DC penalty. How cruel. (although, without DC penalties, matches have a problem of being ruined every other game)

This is far from the only time this has happened to me, and it happens as survivor too. The killer first kills two or three people. Then, repeatedly downs the last survivor(s) and picks them up and drops them until they are no longer downed, then downs them again. This is so the three minute bleed-out time lasts much, MUCH longer than three minutes.

Matches in DbD are usually 10 to 15 minutes, with the rare lengthy match being about 20 minutes. Endgame Collapse was an amazing step in the right direction (and is what got me back into DbD after a multi-year hiatus due to matches being 2+ hours without it), but we need a timer before then to prevent matches from being 30 minutes long.

My suggestion is that after the 30 minutes are up, the match simply ends, and no players in the match get bloodpoints and everyone de-pips and is given a matchmaking penalty. There is no way to tell who is doing the hostage taking, so scorched earth makes sense (even though I am fully aware it is HIGHLY abusable). In addition, players should be banned for repeatedly drawing matches out to 30 minutes and can be unbanned via manual review. This way, if people that are often targeted by harassment, like Twitch streamers, are repeatedly held hostage, they can appeal to BHVR and get unbanned.

Although, a less foolish option would to remove any and all DC penalties after a certain length of time passes. For example, in addition to the match ending at 30 minutes, you can DC at 20 minutes and keep bloodpoints and items you earned that match. Again, highly abusable, but better than the nothing we have right now. I just want to play the game, not run in circles for literal hours waiting for the 4 Claudettes to do a single gen.

I had similar match found them downstairs in closets😂 got bored 2 bour 30min looking for them

Ok, I just go through a game where I sabotaged a hook before they could hook the other survivor. He immediately drops them and tries to come for me. I loop them for two fens and he lost me in the shack. He then proceeds to slugg EVERY survivor (except me) and tries to force me down as well as everyone else on the ground. Once he gets me in a pallet drop ( these hotboxes tho 🤣) he hooks me with everyone else of the ground for a 4k. This was a Freddy.

Why is everyone so angry with these sabotages? I'm generally concerned for the try hards because the sweat is so real I can't help but crack up everytime. I'm not throwing dirt on anyone, except this Freddy, but holy crap he was sooo mad 🤣

    Lmao😂

    Survivor rulebook for killers:

The notion that Killers must prioritize survivor's enjoyment before their own. Killers that cannot be easily countered are not allowed. Moris are gay. You must pick a survivor up immediately after downing them regardless of if they have DS or not. Killers must chase a survivor who teabags or clicky clickys. Camping and Tunneling make you a virgin, you must tolerate any racial slurs you receive, and ensure that the survivors always pip.

Ok, I know, I know, you've seen this argued before.

    But here me out:

Can we get rid of Ebony Mori's and only have the green and yellow mori and Devour Hope? At least with Devour they actually have to work for the killer whereas with the Ebony Mori you literally hook them, and chase them again just to kill them as soon as they get off hook.

In MY opinion, I'd much rather be killed by Devour Hope than by an Ebony Mori.

And don't come at me with " It's a totem survivors can get easily", "Survivors have a chance to run away" or " DS saves your from a mori". DS doesn't help if you're already down and not in a locker. And majority of the time you can't make it into a locker.

Its OK to keep them because people let's say they tbagging pallets & trolling the killer its for those survivors or any1 caught by the killer or gets in the way

Thank you for being considerate even in a competitive game. It means the world to me when I'm doing poorly as killer and have a player stare at me as they get taken by the EGC, or when killers who, even when they lose, still say 'gg' or something nice like that. We don't always have to play fair, and I think everyone falls into that mentality of 'well they can't win if we abuse this,' but whatever, it's a game lol. It's just super cool to meet players that respect each other even when things aren't going well for them. Sorry if this post is dumb, I just wanted to get this off my chest haha :)!

EDIT: So many people have seen this and commented!! I was half asleep and happy after a group of survivors sacrificed themselves on the cult symbol at midwich for me and was so grateful for nice players, and this post was made lol. I'm glad you are all sharing your stories and taking the time to discuss this together! Good luck and have fun in future matches, everyone <3!!

Yeah I try to be fair. I hate when I'm playing killer people tea bagging that not right

  • @Deadeye said:

Complete disagreement. Noticed already way less DCs within these 2 days

Crashes occur way too less and would not lead even to a 15 min block most of the cases and even if it does, it counts for maybe 1% of all players while saving 99% of the players from lame donkey play.

If a single hit by a bug causes you to DC, or for camping and tunneling, then you are exactly the type of person that the DC penalty was made for.

And if you're so smart to throw in rejoin mechanics, maybe think a bit further and provide mechanics to avoid abusing, like DC short before hook and then rejoin.

Most survivors you play DC just cuz you pick them to hook them
