  • I'm baffled by them bringing the Go Next prevention back. It was such a disaster with so many people getting unwarranted punishments so they just...turned it back on?

"We'll have those anti-tunneling measures in place in the next three to five years, but for now, here's a return to getting a penalty for being targeted instead."

  • I think they need changes. Either make them a bigger nuisance for killers to get rid of, or make them quieter/silent. They're much too easy to find as opposed to hex totems, which aren't as loud and often sound like environmental fire barrels. I've never even bothered trying to use them myself because they seem like more trouble than anything. Even when I've benefited from one by getting up from a down, if the killer is slugging then the match is usually such a mess at that point that it barely matters.

What I'd love to see is some better (and just more) invocations. There's a tone of potential with the concept and I also just love sitting in the little circle.

    @I_Cant_Loop said:

Yes. None of them of worth running in their current state. Whenever a solo queue teammate starts a match by blessing a totem instead of working on gens, I know the match is basically over already.

They could all use buffs to some degree, but it is a delicate balance since some of them could become easily overpowered (see: original Circle of Healing). Maybe something like a very slow passive heal whenever you’re in the aura of the totem? Something that could be useful enough to actually put in your load out but also waste a lot of survivor time if they want to get a full heal.

A passive heal would actually be worthwhile, particularly if you place it in range of a gen so you can heal and work. I feel like everyone who is injured currently runs to the totem like there's a doctor waiting over there.

  • Does this happen on both killer and survivor end? I've had plenty of games where people have used vials but it hasn't affected me being in chase with killers. Is it only affecting the person using the vial?

  • I haven't tried them myself but so far my soloq teammates have been using them pretty poorly. They also don't seem super popular for a new item. My party-mates haven't tried them yet and neither have I, and I don't feel much inclination to do so.

I haven't seen how they are on killer end yet.

  • Trickster. I think his design is fine and I really like some of his cosmetics but God, I hate him. The knife spamming is so obnoxious. There's nothing remotely intimidating or frightening about him. He's just straightbup annoying.

Legion. Same reason. The endless slash-and-run is annoying. I dont want to play against annoying killers. Even when we escape I still have a bad time.

Chucky. Not so much because of the killer himself but because of the people who play as him. I've been tunneled and slugged by more Chuckys than anyone. I don't think I've come across any chill Chuckys, or merciful ones. Instead I've had some NOED fake outs. They seem to think they actually need to embody the character in order to play as him.

  • This is a shame. I don't play as Clown much but I find him to be one of the few physically intimidating characters and I always like going up against him. Good Clown players who use the right bottle at the right time always impress me. Sad I'm just going to dread him now. Hopefully they'll repair this.

  • I would guess that decision came down to money since they didn't need a license and Cage was probably down for it. Would you be against a Boris Karloff, Vincent Price, or Bill Moseley character? I'm not saying Nick Cage is a horror icon of that caliber, but he certainly is an icon of some sort, and he's at least got a horror association.

Brother Nicolas Cage and Lara Croft are in the game, nothing scary about them. Houndmaster isn't very scary, and shes an original character.

Nick Cage is in a bunch of horror films.

  • Darth Vader might actually make me cool on this game I'm addicted too. The only thing horrorifying about the Star Wars franchise is how hard Disney demolished it.

  • I regularly have matches where the killer does abysmal, like 0-2 hookings. I'm very team-minded and have likely spent the match healing and taking hits for these random strangers. I'll get hooked at the very end because I was probably on the last gen and my team, who is completely healthy and in no danger, just opens the door and leaves. There isn't even a moment of consideration. This sounds really specific but it's happened to me dozens of times in soloq.

But because I'm team-minded I always go for the save unless I'm 100% sure it's impossible. I get killed a lot for it but I know what I'm doing when I make the choice. If your comfortable leaving people behind then do it, but to me, it's a team game and you're supposed to help your team.

Even when I play killer, I'm very aware of bad teammates on the opposing side. Some of the most memorable matches I've had are where there were only two people left and one is hiding and waiting for their more active teammate to get killed, so I team up with that more active player and we get rid of the coward.

  • Yeah now that I look at it, its updating, but its spotty. I was playing consistently during these periods.

    Screenshot_20250728-181210_Chrome.jpg
  • They're fine for me. My stats updated 14 hours ago.

  • Yeah it's pretty boring when you get to the leaderboards and see the same perks on repeat. I desperately want a perk free mode as an event. I'd love to see how people do without their crutches.

  • No one can convince me dbd matchmaking is based on anything but speed and convenience. The weird part is that my killer queues are almost all high performers. My survivor queues are super uneven. I chock this up to a lot of good survivors being in parties, which is likely why I encounter them more as killer and less as a soloq survivor.

  • I helped a Springtrap farm this on day one of his release. Survivors are more than happy to farm as long as they are established enough to get the idea.

  • I rarely see more than one Vigil in a match. Most people aren't going to stack it unless they're a very coordinated team. Even then, it's gonna be rare. I play in parties and we have never, ever put together a team-based build. The idea's never even been floated. Everyone runs what they like.

But if some teams do, more power to them. Strategy gets rewarded. If more survivors were strategic and united the escape rates would be much higher.

very similar experience here. Many of my survivor lobbies have literal brand new players. Just in the past week I’ve seen at least a dozen with less than 50 hours, and it was not due to lobby backfills. When survivor queue times are instant there is zero excuse for the matchmaking to be this bad. I would gladly wait a minute or two in a survivor lobby to get matched with players closer to my skill/experience level.

Yeah I wish I could elect to wait a bit for a better lobby. I'm willing to wait 5 minutes to not have a terrible match.

Btw, do you have this same name in the game? It always looks familar to me. If so, we've probably played together before.

  • Aesthetically, this is probably my favorite map. I love all the different stuff in the dungeon. I don't really have any issues on it either, as either role. As a survivor running a gen build, I usually quietly get the three lower gens done without much issue, while my team and the killer are busy up top. As long as at least one other person is working gens alongside my lower ones, we usually do well. As a killer, if I remember to police those bottom gens, I do okay too. I think it's just a map that requires a little more awareness of what's happening where than some.

  • It's fun if you don't take it serious. Though I do better as killer and think it's easier, I find the role more fustrating. I like survivor because it's harder but it's also as silly as I want it to be. I'm usually laughing at everything, especially when I bring meme perks. And honestly, when you land a good team in soloq and you mesh amazingly with each other, it's the best feeling. Killer victories are too lonely.

But yeah, the MMR is trash. I played a killer for the first time as a trial recently, I didn't even have them unlocked, and the whole lobby was high prestigers. I didn't stand a chance. My killer lobbies tend to be high performers, despite me being a merciful killer with an average kill rate. My soloq survivor lobbies are wildly uneven but usually full of low-performers who hide in lockers and behind rocks. I'll be the p100 and they're all p1-5. It's not uncommon for me to have games were only 2 gens get done and I did both of them alone.

  • I believe the DC penalty is disabled. Two days ago, a couple friends abandoned a game cause we got another invite. They told me to leave and said there was no penalty. I didn't test it myself cause I don't DC, but there was no penalty when my match ended and I got to their lobby, whereas I usually have to wait out friends' penalties.

Banning would be crazy though. It's not that serious. And I'd rather have bots than people intentionally dying and screwing their teams over.

  • I've only been playing for about a year. I seem to recall the game recommending playing survivor first and that went terribly for me. Not only was it unlike any game I'd ever played and I didn't understand anything, I couldn't even manage skill checks cauae I was too nervous, so I couldn't go on gens with teammates cause I'd miss the checks and endanger eveyone. There were too many killers to learn and too many perks to figure out, not to mention lingo and unspoken rules. People would send me messages that might as well have been in Latin. I don't really watch videos or engage with social media so I didn't have any outside guidance.

I switched exclusively to killer for a long while and that was way, way easier. You really don't have to learn much to be killer to just play and do okay. Survivor is much more nuanced. It wasn't until I made a couple friends that I went from scared of the killer and hiding half the match to running Scene Partner and becoming a complete clown. Playing with other people is the best help I got.

I've tried to get my partner into it cause he watches me play and hears me talk about it all the time and, at least, with babysitting and guidance, I can help him through a match. He also had trouble with skill checks but Technician is a good training wheel perk. But I didn't know that when I was starting, and you shouldnt have to have a chaperone. The game really needs a solid tutorial and a few mandatory matches with bot killers. Ironically, killers can play against bots but need the help the least.

It's actually very useful in solo q when you don't know from which side the killer is coming or in chases to see if the killer is trying a mindgame

I've definitely gotten use out of it. I particularly like it when the perk sees the killer coming towards me when I didn't, but I feel like I do just as well with Empathy, Alert, or Fogwise, without the downside. It's also super annoying when your trying to heal or do a gen and you just keep screaming. I'd love them to rework it so you can scream and do actions. I intend to bring it back when the 7 presets go into effect but for now I'm being boring.

  • I've never rage quit but I've got no issue with DCs. I've never really found this to be a big problem. Regardless of which role I'm playing, I'd rather survs be replaced by bots if they wanna leave. They're good practice for killers and more useful than half your soloq teammates as survivor. The intentional hook deaths actually ruined the match.

What sucks is when multiple people DC right at the start for no apparent reason and leave their unlucky teammates screwed. If I'm killer I just let the 1 or 2 humans live. Some killers extend the same courtesy to me as survivor.

What I don't like is that a killer DC just ends the match. I would really love some killer bots.

  • The perk I always bring for surv is Empathy. Gives me fantastic map awareness, let's me heal teammates, know where the killer is, and also shows me when I have a useless teammate who's hiding in the basement or behind a rock cause they got hit.

I don't really have a go-to for killer that's really interesting. I bring boring stuff like Lightborn and Iron Grasp. I just want to get to the hook without issue.

    @SkeletonDance said:

Scene partner if it counts to non meta

I love this perk and used to always run it. I find it hilarious but I have the opposite experience with it being useful and pretty much stopped using it. Not only would it get me found when I'm stealthing, but a lot of killers tend to take it weirdly personal, like your mocking them or something. It got me targeted quite a bit.

uumm.. okay.. aright, so I'm supposed to give up the pressure from my early down → just walk off and start setting up traps around the map while 1–2 survivors are already tailing me to immediately disarm them again? Meanwhile, the rest of the team gets tons of breathing room for free gen pressure. And then, as a slow M1 killer, my best option is to chase a full-health fresh hook target. And if someone actually steps into one of my traps by accident, guess what – there’s usually someone right there ready to bodyblock. So I’m now starting a completely new "duel" with a fresh survivor that brings me zero value, while the rest of the team feels zero pressure, because I’m off chasing someone who’s basically a reset. A fresh hook means nothing at this point.

But sure - ur a right – I could just throw all of that away and hope to pull something off in the endgame. It’s a gamble. A lot of teams can still be taken out in the endgame. But like... why would I rely on that? Then you’ve got people who argue the way you do: if I play soft during the early/midgame and then go hard and "dirty" in the endgame, suddenly that’s considered cheap too.(and like... if a 110% movement speed killer manages to get a 4K with 5 gens still up – no matter how accurate they are – I seriously have to wonder which side played that match poorly.)

This is all just one giant gamble that relies on survivors messing up. But I want my 4K — not a dice roll.

This sort of "my 4k" entitlement is exactly why the game needs adjusting. Killers think they deserve to win. Survivors expect to die. So very balanced.

You lot need to stop demonising the idea of people playing with friends.

I play regularly with someone who has played the game for years and they are the worst survivor. Not all SWF is a sweat team, some people are just hanging out with friends having a laugh. In fact that will be the majority of SWF you face. The majority of teams who batter you and you cry about being a 4 man SWF more than likely aren't. I have been accused of being in a 4 man SWF regularly when I am playing solo. You don't just lose to 4 man SWF, stop letting people fill your head with that.

The game should not be focused on the killer having an easy ride and having fun every match. There are 5 people in every round. Many killers have spent years saying "It isn't my responsibility for you to have fun" when they use unfun "tactics" to win the game. You can't now make it everyone else's responsibility to ensure you have fun as the killer

I didn't realize just how many teams I thought were organized SWF on comms weren't until I went from exclusively playing killer to playing both roles. When I play with friends, we do worse, hands down. We're all too altruistic and concerned with one another. We take hookings and deaths on each others behalfs constantly.

If I'm lucky and land a good group in soloq, I have matches where we work so beautifully together that I KNOW the killer thinks we're in a party. I wish the leaderboards would show you at the end who was in a party so everyone can get a nice surprise.

Tunneling is just how you win. What exactly am I supposed to do? Try to set up traps while gens are flying and the team is laughing their asses off, gens zooming past everything, doing the whole “come chase me” routine— always someone behind me ready to instantly disarm every trap? And if things do get dicey, they’ve got instant heals in their pocket anyway.

    https://youtu.be/QN7lU_orSMA

    https://youtu.be/QN7lU_orSMA

Should I go defend gens while people pre-shift into strong loops the second they see me? Nah. Sorry, little Sable’i — you might not like what’s happening right now, but this is the only way. We both gotta deal with it. You were just the first one I found — so you better fight for your life now.

“Or spend their time on the ground. When you down someone, you’re supposed to hook them.”
Yea? I picked up the Ace at the end. I hooked him. And I regretted it instantly.
Luckily it twon this shack chase — otherwise all three would’ve been back on their feet in seconds.

If it’s an exploit — then please, tell me: how else am I supposed to play?
And then let’s get good people in a nice map for good measure. MacMillan with some juicy god pallet spawns, maybe Autoheaven with the fun fun bus, or hey, let’s spice it up with Springwood.
No event stuff either, for sure.
The killer is ready to “learn” how not to exploit.

What’s the advice? Set up some kind of trap zone? Lock down a gen cluster and pray?
You think good survivors give a damn? They’ll just tap, disarm, distract, loop, reset, heal, repeat.
Go ahead. Show me the honorable way to win.

I’m so open to learning, I even brought a notebook. Page one says: “Don’t play killer.”

OK when you said traps, I was expecting Trapper, but you can do a ton with Hag. I get absolutely stomped by good Hag players with well placed traps and good predicting of survivor movement. She's one of the characters I dread going against the most cause her rare players are usually good.

How else are you supposed to play? Have you really never played that way? Like I said, none of these tactics even occurred to me until I was on the receiving end. I've never tunnelled anyone out of a match. Even when I accidentally pick up the trail of a recently unhooked survivor, when I see it's them, I turn around (plenty of killers swerve on me in the same way. Again, play surv and you'll see other playstyles from the other side.) I still maintain an average kill rate of 60% while often letting the last person leave. The only time I'll drop someone on the ground is if the team is crowding me with body blocks or they keep sabotaging the hooks.

The question that's come up again and again is 'is killer the easier role?" Only killer mains who never or rarely play surv seem to argue that it isn't. You're doing a good job at arguing that it is. The difference between the two roles is that killers can be cheap and completely remove player agency. Bad players can beat good ones with trash tactics instead of just becoming great at the game. There's no equivalent of this for survivors. There's nothing they can do to incapacitate the killer or put them in a guaranteed loss position. Absolutely terrible killers regularly get 4ks against my team with all gens done because they went into uber cheap mode at the last second. Four good survivors can be beat by a low-skill killer. That is the problem with this game. One side has to take undeserved Ls regularly, the other side is rewarded for being unable to take a deserved one.

I played against a Huntress last night that used no cheap tactics. Absolutely slaughtered us with a very simple killer. Didn't miss any of their throws. We didn't get one gen done. They were so damn good and I had mad respect for them. They also gave me the hatch because they were good enough to not absolutely NEED the 4k. Their kill rate is probably crazy even with the occasional mercy.

Also that's also one of the most cringe songs I've ever heard wow

    Ok. I tunnel. I camp. I slug.
Does that automatically make me a dick? Just because I play the game the way it was designed — a 4v1 where I’m on my own against coordinated teams?

I've never insulted anyone personally and I usually always type GG at the end. So how exactly does that qualify me as an bad person? :/

I guess I just have to get used to it — suddenly I’m the Big Bad Evil reincarnation of ultimate evil, just because I play a bit more efficiently as killer to win. Like that instantly ruins everyone’s fun and makes me the villain in this PvP fairy tale. Meanwhile, I’m really just trying to do what the game expects of me: do my job, killling.

First of all, most teams aren't coordinated. The game doesn't even have voice chat. Many people play soloq and have to deal with absolutely useless or selfish teammates.

Saying good game after tunneling and slugging is about the same as an insult. I've never taken that as anything but sarcastic when people do it to me. It wasn't a good game for someone who got tunneled out two minutes in or spent their time lying on the ground. When you down someone, you're supposed to hook them. It never even occurred to me to leave them there until I started playing surv and people did it to me. It's an exploit. They wouldn't be trying to address it if it wasnt an issue.

And really, what is the point? If you give the team no chance, why even play? You ever play surv? You might gain some empathy if you did, and you can see just how good those games are.

It doesn’t matter how long you’ve played. The game has clear win conditions that basically determine the kind of players you’ll face. Kills and escapes are your win conditions (aside from short lobby waiting time). If you play the way you described—super soft, letting people go more often, setting your own win conditions like 2 hooks—you’ll always end up in different lobbies than those who play efficiently to win. From your perspective, you have a completely different experience and different rounds. You’re facing different teams, even with 7 years in.

I mean, everyone can play however they want, every playstyle is valid, but if you consciously or unconsciously stay in a comfy low MMR zone, the tough matches will always be super rare. You’ll keep getting players who are usually less experienced than your 7 years and thus don’t challenge you.

If you go in to win and as Killer try to do your job as efficiently as possible, you’ll end up in different lobbies than you probably have now. (And personally, I like hunting for my 4Ks. That’s the game.)

I don't see how it's soft to just not be a dick. I don't tunnel, camp, or slug and I still do fine. It's just being fair. If people play better than me then they deserve their wins, but a lot of sweaty killer's will just slug a team that's better than them or take advantage of their altruism.

But my point was that if you've been playing that long you've seen how the game has shifted over the years. Every long-timer I've talked to about this says the same thing: the game stated survivor-sided, was balanced for a while, then became killer-sided.

But if we're talking about MMR, my games are all widely different and I don't believe the matchmaking does much. I'm right at the average percents for killer and survivor. As a killer, I get much more quality players than as a surv. But there's zero consistency. One player is a noob hiding behind a rock and another is a madter looper p100.

  • @BassGuitarRox said:

I think a big problem with this game is how obsessed killers get with chasing kills. When I play killer, I always spread my hooks / go for double hooks, then let go (unless I’m completing challenges). I genuinely don’t get why so many chase the 4K constantly (often relying on slugging and tunneling to achieve it), then they get to higher MMR, then complain the game is survivor-sided when they can no longer consistently win anymore. Maps are so small now - killers have some many gen regressing / blocking and aura perks. Survivor is rough now, especially when you’ve had the same gen get blocked and regressed 6 times in a row when the killer has not even directly interacted with the gen. Whilst your team mates give up because they don’t want to play against a particular killer / perk.

I’ve been playing for 7 years, and I can safely say, killer has never been easier - but older players get drowned out by newer players constantly venting their frustrations. I know balancing of killers is a big issue right now, but not everyone is supposed to go into every match expecting the 4K on a silver platter.

The toxicity has definitely increased since the finisher mori was forced upon us. I’ve had some truly awful games since this event started, I think a lot of people need to question why they still play the game if they clearly don’t enjoy it. (Putting a survivor pudding or mori on in event queue really is a crappy choice). I do reckon the MMR matchmaking does need some work, don’t get me wrong - matches should have more balance to them. It should always feel like a 50/50 chance or you escaping or getting killed. It’s very rare I have a match where I can say the killer feels like their skill is on par.

Wild you can give your opinion with 7 years of experience and people have no counter so they just down vote.

The 4k pursuit is, I think, the biggest issue. The mentality that you didn't truly win unless all 4 opponents lose is crazy and kinda depressing. I kinda feel every game should have 1 or 2 escapes. That's actually a balanced match. Once I get 2k I'm kinda good with whatever else happens.

The final mori has truly made things terrible. A lot of killers were already bad about letting the hatch even spawn, now it's like non existent. I don't even really get it because the moris are mostly hideous to look at. I only do them cause it's easier than the hook, but I'd like to skip them just as much when I'm the killer as when I'm on the receiving end as survivor.

How can you say the game is super killer-sided if less than 5% of your playtime is on killer? Also those matches w/ Michael are obviously very essy when playing a new killer against lower mmr people.

That's just this month, and the total is 12% killer for the month. If friends are playing, I play surv. About 30% of my overall time is killer.

They haven't been lower people. I usually have 2 players that are p50 or higher. The MMR never seems to give me noobs no matter who I play with. It's comes off as completely random.

  • I don't care about BP a whole lot but farming is a nice, friendly break from rough matches. The concept has been dwindling for awhile though, at least on my end. Chill killers are getting rarer.

The event is miserable as a survivor. I'm doing just enough to unlock cosmetics and whatnot and that's it.

What I don't get is killers who bother to bring cake and then tunnel people out, or slug everyone right away and we all get no points. Just out yourself at the start and bring a personal offering.

  • Some killers should be harder to use or more basic because challenges are fun. Huntress, for example, is super simple, yet people that are good with her are unstoppable. I've been hit with hatchets from across the map or through tiny gaps. It's hella impressive when someone is good with the more basic or difficult killers. I have a ton of respect for people who are beasts with, say, Trapper compared to some mediocre Kankei who gets 4k with zero skill.

You mentioned killers with strong add-ons. If such killers got buffed, those strong add-ons would need a hell of a nerf. Myers in particular has bonkers add-ons, and many of the people who use him probably wouldn't respond well to those getting nerfed.

  • Just outting myself as having no life.

    It's 91.4, actually 👀

  • I play both and I still think the game is super killer-sided. The issue is you can be a garbage killer and do okay or good by being cheap, but there's no similar out for bad to just okay survivors. If a survivor team isn't solid and team-minded then they're usually screwed.

I spend more time on survivor currently, am better at it, and genuinely try. I regularly get killed by absolutely terrible killers who panic at the end of the game and start slugging or tunneling. Egregious, multi-person slugging happens in at least 1 out of 5 of my surv matches. Since the change to be able to mori the last surv, I encounter almost no fun or merciful killers.

On the flipside, I put pretty much no effort into killer. I play super duper fair. No camping, no tunneling, swerving on recently unhooked survs, lots of mercy/hatch-giving, and only slugging if there's shenanigans. I still steamroll people much better than me. I've been playing as Micheal, who I have like no experience with, for the last couple days. 4ks almost every match with no red add-ons. I legit feel bad and sometimes apologize to people. They're better than me and I'm just crushing them.

I'm never going to feel like I have to play dirty. If people are better than me than they deserve the win, but people seem incapable of taking a deserved L. I'm all for killers getting hooks and kills as a surv when they earn them, but a massive chunk of my deaths are undeserved.

For example, here are some of my monthly stats. Note the insane difference in hours played versus how things have gone for me. My survivor is a p100 just barely being average. My Micheal is like a p5 lol

    Screenshot_20250719_233002.jpg Screenshot_20250719_232936.jpg
  • I really wish they'd just let people DC without penalty and become bots because yeah, there's a million ways to disengage or get killed on purpose. I never DC, but I'm all for it. As someone who plays both roles I'd rather have bots than deranged players who don't want to be there. Finding more ways to punish people and force them to stay isn't going to improve anything.

And the no-unhook thing sucks. As a survivor, I can no longer die on hook in a hopless match with two players left and give my remaining teammate a chance to find the hatch.

I have the same experience with both roles. Playing killer feels boring cause it's so easy to 3-4k most of my matches, whereas playing survivor is a frustrating uphill battle most of the time but I play survivor more cause I'd rather a hardcore challenge than boredom.

I've played since 2016 with 3.5k+ hrs mostly as solo Q survivor and I'm way better at survivor than killer yet still get substantially better results playing killer. Even against skilled survivors I can take them down with relative ease aside from a strong swf squad that comes along once or twice every 10 matches and even then I still often get a 2k. I'm not mechanically very good at killer but I know how survivors think and can massacre skilled survivor teams with just some basic game sense and sloppy execution on any killer I pick.

Rewarding bad killers is exactly the issue. Low skill cheese tactics like tunneling and proxy camping are way too effective. I actually feel sorry and sometimes apologize when I play killer and massacre the survivors because I know how broken and OP killer role is and how solo Q players feel. I'll go up against a squad with thousands of hours per survivor and just steam roll them on auto pilot after making tons of mistakes that would get me killed as a survivor.

Are we the same person?? I too sometimes apologize or compliment teams I ruined, with some self-deprecating comments thrown in. I'll miss basic attacks and have them breaking my ankles yet I'll still win. And I do it with boring perks like Iron Grasp, Lightborn, and Awakened Awareness. I'm sometimes saying "God, I'm sorry" to myself as I'm hooking people. I play killer less and less because I just feel bad half the time.

What you say about knowing how they think is a big part of it for people who play both. It's like I know what move they'll try and I can't just unknow it. But that's also what makes me empathetic. A double-edge sword, for sure.

What I don't get it why they let a role that's only 20% of the game be the easiest. People who love these IP characters and this concept will play killer no matter what. If surv is miserable and no one wants to do it then there's no game. But I guess we all keep coming back for the challenge of getting stomped by people who are absolutely terrible, and then having them tell us killer is the harder role lol

  • I don't intend to buy him so I've only experienced him as surv. The killer himself is mid, but I feel like you don't even have to be able to aim to hit with that axe. I get hit by unskilled players who I'm pretty sure would miss every throw as Huntress. But I'm not worked up about it or anything.

The doors need work. I'd like to see an adjustment, either a feature to temp lock them, or just don't spawn them right on top of some gens. Give survivors an incentive to use them too. As is, almost no one ever interacts with them in the games I play against him.

It'd also be cool if he'd look in the direction he's aiming.

  • I recently did some custom marches against her with a friend and I have to say, with a bad 3gen, it was basically impossible to beat her with mutiple drones overlapping on one gen. You either waste time disabling the drones over and over or you accept being injured and broken. You have to stragecially play for that 3gen as her though.

But I don't know what she was like before. I rarely encounter her in matches.

I'm only a little under the escape average but look at the difference in matches played as each. I'm better at survivor. I win many chases, get lots of pallet stuns, run a build that blasts through gens, and am a big team player with unhooks, heals, and taking hits for people in dire situations, even strangers.

On the flipside, as I said, I'm a fair killer and dole out a good amount of mercy, and still maintain an average rate without much effort. It'd probably be a 70-75% if I turned it up a little.

Meanwhile, I'm desperately trying to get my escape rate up, yet it's not uncommon for me to die 10 matches in a row. For me to play double the survivor matches but do much worse is not balanced at all.

I agree though, I don't believe it easy every match. It's just generally easier. The difference is my killer matches, even when the people are skilled, are easy like every other match or so. As survivor, even if we destroy the killer the whole match, they'll just panic and start slugging, or they'll have NOED. The issue is more that the game rewards bad killers but never rewards bad survivors.

Aren’t you contradicting yourself a bit there? Of course playing killer is going to feel easy if you go out of your way not to tunnel or camp, and even give survivors a free escapes. By doing that, you’ll stay in easier lobbies, consistently stomping players who are a lot worse than you.

Playing fair isn't going "out my way," I'm just not being a dick. I don't understand what the point of even playing is if you only get hollow wins with cheap methods. What's satisfying about slugging everyone or tunneling them out with no chance for them to recover and engage properly?

The game gives me MUCH better players as killer than as surv. I can easily identify when they're better than me yet I still beat them because, again, killer is easier. Eventually even a great survivor will screw up or misjudge.

Because my surv escape rate is low, I get saddled with both bad killers and baby survivors when in soloq. I'm a P80-something and everyone else in my lobby is like a P5. If my soloq team sucks or is selfish we can't win, even against trash killers, so I lose to killers that are worse then me. The same way I win against survivors who are better than me. That balance is the same regardless of which side I play.

  • If this happens to me, I often just give myself over to the killer so I can leave and the other person can maybe try for hatch. Playing for hatch isn't fun to me. Unfortunately, my reward for this free kill is usually to get slugged. So then I get to be stuck in the match AND not be able to do anything.

  • I'd be curious to see this too if for no other reason that I feel like I regularly escape him. He may be OP but the Kaneki players are some of the worst in the game. Many are terrible at chase, and they top my list of killer most likley to DC if things dont go their way. I guess people who are new or just not good choose him because they think it'll be easy but you still gotta kinda sorta know how to play.

Just the usual divisive “us vs them” garbage from survivor mains who claim that playing killer is “baby easy” even though they’ve never done it themselves before.

By the way, what is your overall escape rate, anyway?

Nah killer is easier. I'm a super fair killer. No tunneling and no camping. I also give unhooked people time to heal and will swerve if I stumble on them on accident. I give hatch a lot. Even being chill and merciful my kill rate is average at 60% and I still manage to get 4ks regularly.

I'm significantly better at survivor and do much worse (below the 40% survival rate). I take breaks from surv solely because I get tired of losing.

  • Actually thrilled about the seven presets, because fashion. Seven perk builds is cool too, I guess.

  • Yeah no i disagree big time. I cannot tell you how many matches I've been in where the survivors run circles around the killer the whole match and then the killer gets a 4k at the end. No matter how long a single survivor runs a killer all they have to do is camp a 3gen or start slugging.

  • Looking at everyones stats, I'm a little alramed...

    Am I an addict? 👀

  • I did ten matches, got tunneled and slugged in all of them, and then went back to regular mode. All I want to do is open chests, play with party totems, accept invitations, and be silly. Meanwhile, the killers are some of the consistently sweatiest I've ever seen. I might do some chill games where I'm not a total dick as killer, but as survivor I'll do the quests and that's it, which sucks, cause it'd be nice to enjoy it.

  • I'm all for DCing without penalty but what's the point of DCing at that particular point? You're saving yourself seconds.
