  • Counter argument. Myers is underrated in DBD.

You say you’re gonna bam console players.. yet the reports I’ve made against killers whom target me with intention to ruin game play.. are still playing... I guess it’s ok for killers to have constant retaliation against survivors they don’t like.. and get away with it.

So you want the devs to ban a killer because they killed you. You do realise that that's the entire point of the game, right?

Tunnelling is a legitimate strategy. Pick on the weakest target and get them out of the game as quickly as possible so they can't repair generators, which makes the game harder for the remaining survivors and easier for the killer.

Don't be such a salt bag.

I read somewhere on here that bans don't start getting handed out until you DC 35%-40% of your games. Although I don't know how credible that was.

    It's a made-up number.
I'd agree with your suggestion if the reset were daily rather than weekly, given those numbers.

Good point. Daily would be better.

It’s nothing to do with my connection ppl, I always play with friends, so when the killer DCs we don’t receive points! The pricks do it on purpose is what I’m saying jheeezzzze lol

The majority of killers don't like playing against SWF. As a killer, they are very easy to spot.

I don't DC from them purely because I don't tend to lose to them, unless I'm at Rank 1 and they're really well organised.

But if you were an average killer, trying to get better at the game and you kept running into SWF groups who teabag, flashlight, pallet loop whilst the others genrush, hook swarm, body block and ultimately, send abusive messages to you after the game, you won't want to play against them either. I'm not saying that that's the type of SWF group you have - but if the killer has had enough of been told to go and kill himself, I can understand why they'll just disconnect and move onto another lobby.

  • If you buy the game you can do whatever you want with it as long as it doesn't break the developer's rules.

If you want to want to walk around the map scaring pigeons, cleansing the occasional totem and touching the odd generator then that's fine. You're not going to rank up very much. The players playing the game as it's intended will rank up and will be put in lobbies with other survivors that play objectives, rescue survivors off the hook, engage in chases etc...

There are a lot of salty and sweaty people complaining about what other people do in DBD, whether it be face camping, tunnelling, pallet looping, tea bagging or flashlighting. Yes it can be annoying, but it's only a game and what they're doing isn't against the rules. So complaining about it isn't going to do anything except waste your time.

Complaining about SWF however is a whole other ball game though!

  • I don't know how you can say no to that.

  • We've got shirtless David. It's time for shirtless Myers.

(Credit to Chattywindow on Reddit for making this a thing!)

  • Trapper is OP? HAHAHAHAHAHA. What is Nurse then?!

As I posted on the Steam forums:

The logical solution would be to add voice chat in-game, thereby killing solos, and balancing around that as the baseline. I have no idea why they haven't other than some stubborn attachment to the original creative vision for the game.

The thing is most survivors already play in SWF squads. From watching the biggest streamers it's clear that the players already have de-facto killed the idea of 4 random survivors unable to communicate outwitting a killer.

The devs need to admit the truth.

I like that idea actually. Allow survivors to talk to each other in-game, eradicating the voice comms advantage that SWF groups have and buff killers appropriately to balance it.

If you only want a solo game, then go play a single player game.

No they're not. Multiplayer games are designed to be played with multiple players.

The ability to play with friends is a feature of certain multiplayer games. In Dead By Daylight, playing with friends whilst using voice communication grants an overwhelmingly unbalanced advantage to the survivors, rendering the game far more difficult and unenjoyable for the killer.

    Multiple players, i.e. friends.

I don't know any multiplayer game that doesn't have a group system designed to play with friends.

No. It’s not i.e. friends. i.e. means ‘in other words’. What you’re looking for is ‘e.g.’, an example.

Playing with friends is an example of multiplayer gaming - it is not the definition of multiplayer gaming.

Yes. Most multiplayer games enable playing with friends. But very few enable a group of 4 friends using voice comms to go up against a solo player. Most multiplayer games that enable playing with friends put you up against other groups of players that also have the ability to use voice communication

Imagine having 12 of the best COD players, splitting them into 2 teams but only allowing 1 team to use voice comms. It’s unbalanced. Just in the same way that having 4 people using voice comms against a solo player in DBD is unbalanced.

It really isn’t that hard to understand.

There is no easy fix for SWF. In and of itself, SWF is not toxic, nor a huge advantage. I destroy them on a regular basis with the Trapper using padded traps sometimes. If I can do it with Trapper, they can't be that great because I'm not a great killer and Trapper with padded traps is nothing to fear. That said, sure, there are those that are a biatch to face, just like there are some killers with certain perk builds that are tough. Spirit with prayer beads comes to mind.

The problem with any nerf in this game is that it hits disproportionately due to the variation in skill levels and how they impact the game. If you gave a 10% nerf across the board to all SWF action speeds, you would cause 80% of SWFs to get absolutely annihilated in 15 ranks of the game. Only 10% of the SWFs out there could handle that without breaking a sweat, the remaining 10% might find it a challenge.

Voice Comms - Most SWFs don't even use these correctly. They state crap that is obvious, "Its a Nurse!" Yeah? What gave that away, the sound of her screeching when she teleports? "Killer's chasing me!" Yeah, we noticed your icon was suddenly injured and you are running across the field. Heck, I've learned to use Comms against them. SWF member is looping me in a jungle gym and the rest are on a gen nearby. I hear the gen, but let the survivor loop me one more time and break line of sight before I peel off and grab one of the ones on the gen. I drop them to the ground and down a second. Just got 2 of them down because their buddy told them it was safe to keep working on that gen. Ooops! (I admit, this is not the norm, but there are some tricks that can be done.)

In all honesty, SWFs are not the overall problem. Most of the problem is in various perks, hit boxes, and how impactful a well organized group of survivors can be. Not sure how to fix that though, it is a glaring problem in the game and short of some full redesigns, or new game modes, there are not many options.

At rank 1 the SWF groups I come up against clearly have a massive advantage. Not only are they decent individual players, but SWF also gives them the ability to to communicate verbally, strategise, bring complimenting perks, items, add ons to the game and use tactics that a non-SWF group would not use. As if it wasn't difficult enough to 4k at Rank 1.

SWF up until about Rank 5 is usually fine, but past that it's just breaks the game. It doesn't make any sense that in one game you can be playing against 4 skilled individual players and the next, you're playing against 4 skilled players playing as a team with voice communication. It's like going from normal difficulty to veteran for a killer.

SWF obviously doesn't make sense. Keep it in causal - it should have no place in ranked play.

Nah the killers are over powered in general.. y’all take the game way too serious and expect to get kills easily the perks the killers got against the survivors are far outta te survivors league tbh.. everything about the killers is overpowered why get saved when the chase lasts 2-3 secs?? They’re speeds are crazy asl compared to when we run it doesn’t make a difference.. y’all literally blame the game like if the survivors made it expecting killers to get rewarded. Games broken either way 😂

    Are you high?

Have you ever played DBD before?

  • SWF and the toxicity that often comes with it has taken the enjoyment out of the game for me. I play games for fun. Playing against SWF at Rank 1 is not fun.

Developer #1 "Oh, I have an idea. Let's allow four survivors who already have a massive advantage over the killer, to be able to communicate to each other via mic during a game!".
Developer #2 "Sounds good to me."
Developer #3 "But won't that make the game even more unbalanced than it already is and put people off from playing killer?"
Developers #1 & #2 "SHUT UP!" Exit scene by tea bagging.

Until the developers remove SWF from 'ranked play' (which they never will), I won't play killer past rank 5. Or I'll just de-rank like a puss puss to keep the bloodpoints coming in.

Having played killer a bit, I can't say I've seen this yet. What I CAN say is I HAVE encountered pallet looping. I don't see this as a problem, it is literally all the survivors have. What are they supposed to do, walk up and say "here, hook me?" Besides, if they drop the pallet and they eventually will, once you break the pallet, it takes it out of the game. Point being, there IS counterplay to pallet looping.

The only counter play to hook camping is getting gens done, and you can't count on a random team to do that for one, and for 2, if you are the unlucky bastard to be first on the hook, it makes for a really ######### game.

Get to Rank 1 and you'll see it!

Pallet looping on its own doesn't bother me too much. Like you said, it's part of the game. But it's the combo of everything I mentioned that winds people up.

  • I'm only pulling your leg. Hitting it with a hammer probably wouldn't work.

What I do is unplug my router for about 10 seconds, shout at it for approximate 3 minutes, then plug it back in.

10/10 it works. Except for the times where it doesn't work, in which case I go outside and play in the traffic.

  • Fire? Are you mad? That definitely wouldn't work.

I litterally just faced a 4 stack claudette squad all dressed in the same exact ourfits with 4 medkits at rank 1 as the hag. A "low tier killer" and got a 3 stack. Thats a definite win in my book.

The biggest issues with killers I believe is that they cry that they didn't get a 4k, so they didn't win. Hell, i even accept 2ks as wins sometimes. Just because you didn't get a 4k doesn't mean you didn't do good.

Anything less than a 4K is a big fat L for me.

If I can't secure the 4K, then I take a red hot poker, and insert it directly into my rectum.

  • If that doesn't work, try applying a thin layer of mayonnaise to it. Make sure it's the full fat stuff otherwise it won't work.

  • Have you tried hitting your router with a hammer?

    That works for me.

  • SWF encourages people to play the game. Without it, DBD would likely lose players and consequently, money. From a business perspective, it's understandable why the devs aren't doing anything about it - why would they do something that could potentially cost them money?

But the truth is that DBD is already heavily weighted in favour of survivors. SWF gives even more of an advantage to survivors, to the detriment to the killer.

It is not fair, it is not balanced and it is not enjoyable for a killer. But the only way things will change is if people just stopped playing killer altogether. That way the devs would have to do something about it.

  • Try coming up against a SWF group all running DS, flashlights/firecrackers, pallet looping you, gen-rushing, hook swarming and tea bagging and you will have answered your question. If you pallet loop me, stick a flashlight up my butt and DS me in the space of 2 minutes whilst your friends have done 3 gens, you can bet your ass I'm going to take you to the f*** hut and spend 2 minutes nodding up and down right in front of your face whilst you die.

In regular games there's no reason to facecamp. If you go up against decent survivors, by the time the guy you've been face camping for two minutes is dead, at least 3 gens should have been done.

But sometimes it's nice to execute a bit of justice. If you're a killer main, you'll be sick and tired of the sheer amount of abuse you receive from sweaty survivor salt bags day in day out. Call it stress relief.

  • @Paddy4583 said:
1.Killers should have a toggle to pick play with SWF groups or not! Let them sit there till they get a lobby with a killer who doesn’t mind playing against them.
    2. Introduce a perk limiter so they can’t have more than 1 instance of the same perk in play in any one game.
    3. Killers get extra perk slots for SWF groups

True. SWF with mics get a free 'Empathy' if they have mics. If they're injured they can just tell their teammates where they are. That's a bit dumb.

  • Survive with friends is fun if you're a survivor. It's a load of dog poop if you're a killer.

The game is already weighted against the killer but SWF gives survivors a game-breaking advantage.

One of the difficult aspects of playing solo survivor is that you don't always know where the other survivors are, what they're doing, or ask for help if you need it. In a normal game survivors can't talk to each other - they can't tell each other where the killer is, they can't come up with a plan of "one person pallet loop him for a bit and the others rush gens", they can't tell each other where the killer is and send someone to the other side of the map to do gens, not to mention the fact that SWF get a free 'Empathy' because they can just say "I'm here, come heal me".

It must be difficult for the devs as they obviously know that SWF is ridiculous in ranked play. But because it draws people into the game they can't change it because without it a lot of people wouldn't play. Sadly, it all comes at the expense of a lot of a killers enjoyment of the game and will ultimately deter good players from the game.

SWF is here to stay but one way around it to make it sweeter for killers is to make it so they don't lose rank when playing against SWF and get bonus blood points.
