ye giving dsync advantage to killers is not really healthy for any game, people would simply vpn and get massive advantage.

I think this could be an ok idea if implemented correctly, but I don't really agree with your way of going about it, though I do understand where you're coming from. Having the ability to ban the same killer every match would be terrible, both for survivors and for killers.
If this were to be implemented, you'd need to make it so the survivors can only ban one killer at a time. Then, you'd also need to be able to ban a specific killer only once every few matches. So you ban Nurse, let's say, then after that game you ban The Blight, then The Ghoul, then The Knight, and after that Knight game (three games after the Nurse ban), you can ban The Nurse again.
This ban should be a unanimous decision among all four survivors; otherwise, no ban goes through.
Another thing you'd need to take into account is fairness for the killer. If you can have an option to not go against specific killers, then killers would need to have the option of not going against specific perks (DH, DS, OTR, Deli, etc.). So, using the same system we just made for banning killers, you ban one survivor perk each match, with the ban lasting only one match, and the perk you banned requiring three games to be bannable again.
I also believe this should only be available in a different game mode altogether if this were to be added, whether that new game mode be simply competitive, or something unique, idk. But this 100% should not be in the base game.
I don't personally think banning killers or perks should be a feature in the game, but this is just my idea for how it should work if it were added. Maybe if there was a competitive gamemode ever implemented, then there could be some validity, but I honestly don't think there's anything wrong with how it works now. Going against certain killers sucks, sure, but it's not the end of the world. You'll most likely go against a completely different killer right after anyway.
Overall, it's a pretty bad idea, and I 100% do not agree with it, but I figured I'd entertain it nonetheless.
read it again i made a note.

We get this suggestion on a semi-regular basis. I'll be blunt. It's a selfish idea, that would harm the game. We all have killers that we don't like, but that doesn't mean we have the right to ban people from playing them. Killer players shouldn't have to deal with either not being able to play, or having to endure obscene wait times, just because survivors don't like certain killers.
I have to wonder if you think that killer players who keep getting blocked from playing who they want to, are just going to play a different killer? Because my guess is that most people will just stop playing entirely. Which would be catastrophic for the game's health.
did u even understand what i wrote? survivors getting in the lobby cannot leave it without penalty, the lobby is locked, then u ban the killers, then u run matchmaking, then u get killers, the killers cannot be banned in the killer perspective.
-
alright i got so many downvotes for suggesting something that can change the game for better(especially for survivors), this reaction proves that this forum is is filled up with over 95% biased killer mains.

-
it would barely effect matchmaking time because u cannot ban multiple killers at once, also the most banned killers could simply get reworked so people stop banning them, simple.
-
both killers are pretty overpowered for pub matches, maybe thats what they meant when he is the same as nurse.
-
not a single fun killer left for me personally due to bad maps rng and killer powers.
the weakest killers are boring to verses, the strongest killers are annoying to verse.
now if maps were to be fixed and made properly(means no 2 meter tinny pallet loops or broken long chained tiles), then all killers would be fun, beside maybe ghoul, in my opinion A-S tier killers should spawn more pallets around maps. while others get less, just not unsafe ones, the unsafe pallets makes the game unfun, also bloodlust still exist even tho those pallets are so tiny lel.
-
the only solution is completely rework matchmaking system with visual ranks in rank mode where very low ranks will verse very low rankers, also rank should have restriction on the level played, so people with high rank should not be matched with low rank players in a lobby, but there would be the option for casual lobbies as we have now, also strict mmr system where games are more balanced, and new players could play against each other until they get better and climb the ranks and join their friends, or make a new gamemode in dbd like friday the 13th, a giant map with lots of people playing it with multiple escape routes vs 3 killers. could be really good and fun experience.
-
u can easily win games with all killers in pubs, if u truly master even the weakest killers u can still get plenty of wins, the reason games are hard on killers lately is due to the increase of cheaters in the game.

I've played 10 games against the new killer, haven't escaped once and in those games, there was only one total escape, and that was someone winning the hatch race. Fun times in solo queue!
the fact that people downvoted u is crazy, well spoken, most survivors share ur experience, but those killer mains in the forum wont buy it, they get 1 hard match against people above their skill level then claim the game is unfair for them, no accountability, pure ego.
-
problem with the new vecna is that he can miss an attack and still get a dsync hit, also maps are so small he can easily zone people in corner and get free downs.

I've got really mixed feelings. He's super fun to play as but I'm not great with ranged killers. I've played 17 matches as him and I've won 11 of them. It works out to a 66% KR so far. So pretty okay results, nothing amazing. I usually do better than that when I hop on a new killer.
Playing against him has been a different story.
I've played against him 28 times so far. In 8 of those I've escaped. That's a 28% ER against him. Only one was a 4e. Three were hatch, so only I escaped. One was a player who had me in the mori stance in end game and let me go, so that would have been a death if he hadn't been nice. Only 4 of those 28 matches were wins for the survivor team and in almost all of these matches I was in a party, so it wasn't just soloq confusion. The Henrys I'm going against land damn near all their hits. I've never had so many losses against a new killer so quickly. Usually there's a period of figuring out both sides go through but this has been stomp after stomp after stomp.
I don't know how much can be changed though. Nerfs might make him unplayable for mid players but in good hands he's nearly unstoppable. I'm curious to see where things are at in a few weeks with everyone figuring things out more.
facts, those people are killer mains they barely even play survivor and mostly stuck in low mmr cause their escape rates are low due to either them or bad teammates, also even if they were good and they had high mmr as individuals, getting a low mmr teammates would effect the killer u encounter, if u get in 4men strong groups in high mmr u will mostly get decent killers, sometimes really good ones and sometimes less than decent, but then they could say survivor isnt that hard because they are in a full strong team, they dont get the point of playing casually and get a good teammates that boost their mmr ratio in a lobby where the killer is far better than he should be for that lobby specifically even tho it should be a balanced lobby, but its only balanced when the strong survivor gets picked on early instead of the weaker links, but killers can spot weaker links and take advantage of it.

as a killer if ur under 3k hours u will always struggle, no matter which killer u take(exclude S tiers by basekit), it is what it is. same for survivor, also sometimes is also depend on ur build, and how much u invest in dbd, are u playing casually or u training in customs etc.

Bro, he’s fine. He’s been out for less than a week and I’ve seen plenty of survivors do just fine against him. And just stop with the “killer is ez mode anybody can win every match easily” stuff. Nobody believes that, but please feel free to post your stats or some of your gameplay to prove me wrong.
i see you havent even read what i wrote below, people are already on over 100 winstreak on this(BALANCED KILLER), i dont need to prove myself to a nobody and try to escalate arguments and create drama, im here to state my mind, like it or not, ur free to disagree, so if i do 50winstreak for example, u will agree with everything i say? clearly not right, but others did even way higher winstreaks than that, so u get the point? the problem isnt just the killer, is the fact that maps are small, gens are very close to each other, the killer can attack from long range, have stealth, very suited for strong totem builds, places him into S tier territory with certain builds, me personally i can loop the new vecna, but do u realize how sweaty i am? and even then its like sometimes i get random hit because of pure sheer luck of a killer or bad dsync hit outside the circle, and listen, u can disagree thats totally fine, but u will see he will get nerfed, there is no way hes staying this strong for long, the survivor experience against this killer is miserable and unfun, the people ive played with dont have much fun against him either, but if u have fun then good for u buddy, and i havent lied that killer is ez mode, go watch xeno getting 41perkless winstreak, yea xeno is a top player, but perkless bro, all i can say is that if u had full meta builds on killers, then killers is ez mode as long as u are half decent or more at killer, even Zubat place all killers in pubs as S tier, go watch his tierlist, go get some proper info if u cannot believe me.
-
Hens is currently over 120 winstreak on him, tru3 was on 45 so far with some medicore build, i see a lot of people now easily get high winstreaks on this killer easily, i dont even bother playing killer because its such ez mode boring experience since the pallet sizes got gutted, im over 12k comping dbd, this killer is ultra busted and u get hit even outside the circle when the killer have a bad ping or vpn, even if u fixed matchmaking this killer will still overperform, there is a lot of RNG involved and maps are so bad like let me show u what truly awful 3gen looks like,
111.jpg 222.jpgif it was a vecna for example he could sit on the gen closer to mid and put pressure on main and eleven and its a free win, most killers would have it easy with such bs 3gen(especially if they had fearmonger to counter springburst players). ive seen it all by now, fix ur game and maps, or fix ur killers, or both, dsync issues, and more.

The people who dont enjoy this game should stop playing completely. Not even launch the game. Why would anyone play a game that makes them feel miserable other than addiction? Maybe this is why the matchmaking and balance is as it is. You get free win matches then guaranteed losses to keep the addiction.
i also hope they fix matchmaking where they put the sweatiest vs sweatiest, and casuals vs casuals, the only issue will be the first 1-2 years where people will hate to struggle too often, but if bhvr will manage to pull through this then people will be happy overall, just make a proper mmr rank system where people get rewarded for being good and improve the anticheat map balance and dsync issues, even make higher fps viable would be really good for this game, for example start with 128tickrate servers.
-
u cant force people to stay, if people dc don't laugh, its a concerning issue, people dc cause they not enjoy the game or feel miserable from the experience.

You didnt read my reply did you
Insulting that you likely didnt read my reply, not even the first sentence, and then put a chatgpt response. If anything you are proving my point, you cant compare league of legends champ WIN rates to dbd KILL rates. Did you get it?
im over 12k hours in dbd, i played comp dbd, i read ur comment, and u said it is not the same but it is, Stats are evidence, and evidence says that the game is far easier for killers than survivors, the only reason u feel like the game is survivor sided is because of the game mechanics which allow survivors to fight back against a killer which makes the experience rough on the killer end, even if the killer won the game he will still feel stressed as if the game is not really killer sided, but it is, when balancing any game, lets forget about the league alright, in any game balance is made around the 50s, DBD is clearly going for 60-40 which is a fact. there is no balance in 60-40 buddy, even if matchmaking was fixed, killers would still lead in scores.

This is a wrong comparison to make. Im not gonna argue about whether it's killer or survivor sided, but that comparison to league of legends is just not right to make with dead by daylight. main reason being that lol is a 5v5 team game meaning that you could be great but your team could be worse causing you the loss. that's not the case on killer here. whereas on survivor one player could throw the whole match for the other three. On top of that the matchmaking in league of legends is robust and generally accurate especially in the higher ranks, so you can't just stomp a bunch of noobs forever like in dbd.
is normal comparison actually, either u like it or not, thats reality, we talking about power role and balance, when the developers said they want the game to be a killer sided game, it means it would be killer sided game, is that simple, lets do simple math.
Here is the breakdown of the math:
- The Baseline: A standard Dead by Daylight match has 4 Survivors.
- Your Performance: You get 3 Kills per match.
- Single Match Calculation: 3÷4=0.753÷4=0.75 (or 75%).
When you scale this up to 10 matches, the ratio stays exactly the same:
- Total Possible Kills: 10 matches ×× 4 survivors = 40 survivors
- Your Total Kills: 10 matches ×× 3 kills = 30 kills
- Final Calculation: 30÷40=0.7530÷40=0.75 (75%)
- By aiming for 60%, the devs are trying to push the average match slightly closer to a 3-kill game than a 2-kill game to maintain the pressure.
get it? the game is not balanced at all, it is actually very killer sided(unless ur playing the worst killers in the game which currently didnt get buffs but they will eventually).

@Pulsar said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4048580#Comment_4048580
Seems to be working fine for them.
Most Killers are at or above 60%, even in their worst matchups.
100% Correct, the game itself is not designed to be fair, a fair game is balanced around 50%, basically if a killer have 75% killrate it means the killer could possibly 3k every single game which is a win for a killer, since bhvr aim to give killers 60% kill rate condition as a main goal, then the game is far from balance, in fact those killers that are winning against much better players than themselves is due to this restriction on survivors, is that simple, hard to accept but its reality.
also if u check league of legends for an example, the highest currently at all rank winrate on a champ is 53% and the worst is 45%, and the power difference is huge between less than 10%.
-
@killer_hugs said:
it's killer sided. game is balanced so killers have a 60% average kill rate (although many are actually closer to 65-70%). competent killers easily win >90% of their games no matter what killer they're playing as. i don't consider myself a good killer and have a >75% kill rate on every killer in the game.
if your argument is that it's SWF sided that's just not true. we know that only 10% of players play in SWFs. we also know that even high mmr SWFs on average have an escape rates below 50%. thus the argument that the game is SWF sided falls flat when you're really only talking about a very small number of overall players being able to outperform the odds.
killers dont know how easy they have it nowdays, they dont know dbd before 6.1 patch where survivors could heal in 8seconds with good medkits and had basekit overcome, killers didnt had 2 stacks of stbfl, gen kick/pallets were slower, maps were bigger and safer, map offerings were viable as well, camping and tunneling sure was easier back then, but gens were faster as well, game was a different game, killers today are very spoiled and boosted, i remember when i started to play dbd, in the first month i reach rank 1 on both sides, i was so good even before 6.1 as a killer because i already knew how to deal with all scenarios, people just have it easy today with lots of 50-50 pallets and free hits and downs, in the past u had to break pallets to create deadzones, u needed to think, today playing killer is so easy and boring, i can pick up any killer, master it and do massive winstreaks on those killers because thats how easy this have become, before 6.1 as a killer u could respect 3k hours survivors, today 3k hours is like nothing, due to the fact that they have not as much options as they had back in the day, ur either ultra sweaty 3k or casual nowdays which is more common to be casual 3k, im currently with over 12k hours in the game ive seen it all, game is 100% killer sided right now, and if a killer lost to a SWF when using A-S tier killers then is 100% skill issue.
-
4Men SWF = A tier KILLERS, at the same time S tier killers are slightly stronger than 4Men SWF(we will ignore the likes of trapper and such killers which are not really commonly used, i see blight/ghouls way too often nowdays so i wont compare the low tier killers to 4MEN SWF since 4MEN SWF are a fraction of the playerbase and the low tier killers can do well against non 4men comp ready team).
and as you know most survivors are casuals and not a comp ready team which means all killers are viable and good for public matches, so with that saying the game is currently heavily killer sided, the fact that bad player in a survivor team can screw up and entire game is wild, game have terrible dsync issues and map rng as well.
-
yep, fix matchmaking, let the best players to verse each other as it is in other games, and let the casuals verse each other, also improve the anticheat and give rewards for rankings.
-
i like the idea, 2 separate killers que up, ends up in a lobby of 8 players, means 2 different lobbies which que up as a team/or randoms, each team is getting 1 of the killers on their side of the team and the match start for both sides, those with the bigger score wins, could be fun.

Unfortunately, cheating in online video games has become something of an industry of its own.
Bizarre, really.
yep they profit from it and it wont be stopped, hackers will continue to improve and bypass even the best defense, it is what it is. the best way to deal with cheaters is simple. making a separate rank from casual, also farm month in casual to be able to play rank, and invasive anticheat where u get quick ban for cheating, then the cheater will have to farm another month just to be able to play rank, this would literally destroy cheaters.
-
i advice u to use boon: exponential, unbreakable,ds, and exhaustion perk, with this build there is no more slugging, u will learn to use boons correctly to save ur team from slugs, also u will have unbreakable if the boon get sniffed out, and u will have ds in case u get tunnel and u will have an exhaust perk that can help u in chase.

corn maps are prob the worst ones currently for survivor, especially if u play against top tier killers.
-
What i want the most in dbd?
1, balanced maps for both sides.
2, better servers (fix the dsync hits).
3, no aura perks(use perks similar to spies from the shadow instead).
4, bigger maps, (bring back stealth).
5, separate 3gens from each other due to bigger maps(then remove the gen kick limiations).
6, Balance killers to be on similar tier field(not overpowered like blights and not weak trappers.
7, improve the anticheat and matchmaking(and show us the mmr level+rseasonal rank rewards).
8, nerf broken perks every 2 week(and buff weak perks every 2 week).
9, make ping system for communication(u could also add voice coms with option to mute players in game).
10,make in game recording system where u can review ur last 3-10 games while seeing all of the players perspective.
11, sacrificial ward should have brown offering for 25% to cancel map offering, and Purple for 75% chance to cancel map offering.
12, map offerings have 50% chance to get u to ur desired map(make maps stack to 2 people only).
13, Increase FPS cap to the highest level possible, this is 2026, next year is 2027, people already have powerful computers, make them useful and not wasted on low 120fps game.
14, Make Custom match available without the need of a bot for both sides so people can experiment(will help finding game breaking bugs and such to be taken care of and also will be great for practice overall).
15, u can make separate rank mode and casual mode, in rank mode u will be limited to yellow items/addons and perk limited per season.
16, if players are using the same outfits their outfits should by default change colors in the game lobby in rank play only where u wont have to select different characters to play the game( this way people could choose to play their favorite characters ).
17, make all items gain on survivors to be shared with all of their survivors.
18, unlock all perks to be viable for store purchase with in game shards without the requirement to unlock a certain character/killer.
19, focus on keeping the game as free of bugs as much as possible before getting it from ptb to live.
20, make more fun emotes in the game beside pressing 1-2 to come and go.
21, make characters have unique voices where they can talk mid chase and in game overall(with option to mute the voicelines).
22, show the perks of the teammates in the lobby and in game when pressing tab, include their cooldown while in game.
23, remove the free unhook when the killer is too close, just make gens slightly faster if the killer camp.
24, if all the above came to live then u can rework shoulder the burden perk cause it wont be needed.
this is a lot to ask for but if everything i wrote were to be in the game, the game will be 100 times better.
-
ngl i dont care about ghoul as much as i care about blights currently, 1 of my top killers is blight, i main blight/billy, billy is now my favorite cause it takes more skill, blight i already mastered years ago its ez mode playing him and in current tiles blight is ultra broken and unfair killer, ghoul is also very strong in the right hands, but at least u can somehow counter ghoul by running into him when ur a bit far from the pallet when he start to vault, u can mash spacebar and counter his vault grab, but i see so many barely decent blights saying ez in chat because their killer is so broken, im like bro i can do everything u did 100 times better, yet i have to lose to people that are massively lower in skill level than i am just because they use a broken killer, now of course if i run with a comp ready team i will win against those blights, but the argument could be twisted and be like well, what if those blights were comp as well, get it? the killer is just no brainer broken, nerf blight before touching ghoul, ghoul can be next i wont care, but blight is the current number1 problem, also totem build twins is very powerful and annoying just as blight ngl.
-
i always was against aura perks, aura is wallhack, simple as that, there is no skill behind it, the only reason it is acceptable is because it makes it harder to defend gens since u lose perks to use perks, but in the end, wallhack is wallhack and it give back experience to people overall, and also promote using wallhacks, people that play aura, i wont be surprised if they will not be able to play other games without wallhacks, due to built in cheats in games, they will just download wallhacks elsewhere.
-
i dont think u realize how close those 3gen are. this isnt ur average 3gen case(also killers can sit on their 3gen from the start if they want to), gl playing against singulariy/billy/twins/nurse/blight or any killer on those 3gen, i normally dont have too much problems with 3gens, cause u can teamup and push the gens slowly, but u have killers that already break the game without 3gen, and beside that u bring them those gift of a 3gen is not really a healthy move. either nerf the top killers or rebalance the maps for both sides, people who defend this 3gen spawn are really deluded, and killer already have a dsync advantage on hits, making this game more miserable for survivors, ive seen recently more pallets are being removed secretly under the radar, like in hawkins and such maps, gen spawns/hook spawns/ map size, pallet spawns and sizes, all of those should be rebalanced, or even be made differently for each killers used.
-
Blight needs a nerf first tho, Remove his tokens after he break pallets and 4.4 basemovement which will also apply in his rushes and then u wont have to touch his addons then, also ghoul mending should be removed. only if he hit u 2 times with m2 then u should be considered mended.
-
no idea, addiction i guess, over 12k here, i got 1 of the world best computers, we talking about oc 5090/9950x3d/64gb cl26 1500psu plat etc, and i even ordered the new 2k 540hz dual monitor (which also supports 720p 720hz) new asus tendem oled 0.02ms, i might get addicted to other games with higher frames if bhvr wont increase the the frame cap, eventually even consoles will have higher frame rates, when bhvr upgraded their engine they shouldve made it possible for dbd to run up to 480hz at least, the game already hurts the eyes when u scroll ur mouse around, better just make higher fps cap and it would be future proof for future pcs, i can easily run dbd on 400fps on my pc if it were possible, in fact with better coding i could run even 1000 fps.

The main difference between Ghoul and Blight is that it takes mastery to perform well as Blight, otherwise you are just an M1 killer who can't hit anyone with his power and is forced to eat every pallet, while Ghoul is literally "press X to win", even someone who just started playing DbD can easily 4k with Ghoul while eating with one hand and watching some Netflix on the second screen. The community is generally more tolerant to strong killers who actually require skill to perform well.
it dont require much skill to play blight, to master him yea it take skill, but to be decent blight player it takes no skill, and a decent blight is already too strong for pub matches.
-
seems like a lot of people here love to defend the idea of having wallhacks in a video game while being in a horror game where there should be no wallhacks, wallhacks ruins the element of surprise, it also remove skill from the game, there is nothing skillful when u just scan walls and following people behind them, before all of the aura perks, people used whispers/spies to detect survivors and it was fine and actually more engaging than just having aura perks, also maps are really small in the most part, i dont like the idea of having wallhacks in any sort of game(not just in dbd), bbq was acceptable since u could counter it and risk time wasting not doing a gen by doing so, while aura reading wont benefit weaker killers as much, it still benefit the strongest ones which cause a lot of problems in the game, for example pick a nurse, give her aura reading build, she will just flat out stomp u, there wont be mind games, there wont be skillful plays, it will be u getting 2tapped due to the fact that she can see u behind walls and can teleport on ur head, i will always be against aura reading perks, no matter which side of the coin it is for, aura reading is basically cheating but with certificate.

yep thats true, but people with 80+ ping shouldnt be rewarded in my opinion, i think the lower the better thats how it should be.

This is one of the most debated technical topics in the Dead by Daylight community. The "undeserved hit" (getting hit 5 feet past a window or after dropping a pallet) usually boils down to the discrepancy between what the Killer sees, what the Survivor sees, and what the Server accepts.
Here is a technical breakdown of how Behaviour Interactive (BHVR) could theoretically address these desync issues to reduce those frustrating hits.
1. Tightening Server-Side Hit Validation
Currently, DBD uses a system that largely "favors the shooter" (the Killer) within a certain margin of error. If the Killer hits you on their screen, the server asks: "Was the hit plausible based on the Killer's ping?" If yes, the hit counts, even if you were already safe on your screen.
How BHVR could fix it:
- Stricter Ping Tolerance: BHVR could reduce the maximum allowable latency for a hit validation. Currently, if a Killer has 150ms ping, the server gives them a generous "buffer" to make the game feel fair to them. Reducing this buffer would result in fewer "magic hits" for Survivors but would cause more "ghost hits" (seeing blood but dealing no damage) for laggy Killers.
- Priority on Vault/Pallet States: The server could be programmed to prioritize the Survivor's animation state over the Killer's position specifically during vaults. If the Server receives a packet saying "Survivor has completed Vault Animation," it should instantly reject any incoming hit packets from the Killer that occurred during the transition, regardless of the Killer's ping.
2. Increasing Server Tick Rate
The "Tick Rate" is how many times per second the server updates the game state. DBD servers typically run at 60Hz (60 updates per second). While this is standard for many games, competitive shooters (like Valorant or CS2) push for higher rates (128Hz or "sub-tick" systems).
How BHVR could fix it:
- Higher Tick Rate: Increasing servers to higher tick rates would mean the server knows exactly where everyone is more frequently. This reduces the "gap" where a Survivor is safe but the server hasn't realized it yet.
- Packet Processing Optimization: Even with 60Hz, if the server code is inefficient, it might process hit logic slower during busy moments (e.g., lots of status effects triggering at once). Optimizing the backend code to process physics checks faster would reduce the feeling of desync.
3. Dynamic Hitbox Adjustment (Hurtbox Manipulation)
In fighting games, "hurtboxes" (the area where you take damage) often shift or shrink during specific animations to match the visual model. In DBD, the Survivor hitbox is generally a static "capsule" (a pill shape) that doesn't lean forward when the character runs.
How BHVR could fix it:
- Trailing Hitbox Correction: When a survivor is running, their "capsule" trails slightly behind their visual model due to interpolation. BHVR could shift the hurtbox slightly forward in the direction of movement on the server side to match the visual representation better.
- Animation-Specific Hurtboxes: When a Survivor vaults, their legs often trail behind. BHVR could implement a system where the hurtbox is aggressively disjointed or removed from the window frame the moment the "vault success" flag is triggered, rather than waiting for the animation to finish.
4. Matchmaking Ping Limits (Region Locking)
The biggest cause of "BS hits" is playing against a Killer who is geographically far away or using a VPN.
How BHVR could fix it:
- Hard Ping Caps: Currently, the game tries to match based on ping, but expands the search if queue times are long. BHVR could implement a "Hard Cap" option, allowing players to choose to wait longer for a match to guarantee the Killer is under 50ms-70ms.
- VPN Detection: Aggressively filtering out players spoofing their region would prevent high-latency scenarios that the server currently tries (and fails) to compensate for.
5. Why haven't they fixed it perfectly yet? (The "Ghost Hit" Problem)
This is the main dilemma BHVR faces.
- Scenario A (Current State): The game trusts the Killer's client.
- Result: Killers feel good, hits connect visually. Survivors feel cheated because they get hit through walls.
- Scenario B (The Fix): The game trusts the Server/Survivor more strictly.
- Result: Survivors feel great. However, Killers will swing, hear the scream, see blood splatter, but the Survivor will keep running uninjured because the server said "Too late."
The Solution:
The true fix lies in Predictive Netcode. BHVR needs to improve the algorithm that predicts where a player will be in the next 100ms. By blending "Lag Compensation" (rewinding time to check if a shot was fair) with better prediction, they can reduce the window where these two realities conflict.Summary
To fix undeserved hits, BHVR needs to move the slider away from "Favor the Shooter" and closer to "Server Authority," specifically regarding interactive objects (pallets and windows). If the server confirms a pallet is down, it should act as an absolute shield immediately, overriding any latency-based hit claims from the Killer.

Tbh Im starting to see way more cheaters than those hardcore tunneling killers (the core of tunneling problem is when killer at the start targets only one survivor untill he is dead and doesnt go for others in between his hooks, I understand that if killer has no hooks on 2 gens left than it makes sence because there is no chance or super low he can win just by playing normaly with hooking everyone).
yep lots of cheaters nowdays on both sides, and the sweatier the game become the more cheaters will appear. sometimes gens will be oddly too fast even when u put lots of pressure, or some killers will be slightly faster than normal, now with all the new aura and movement speed buffs its really hard to tell if somebody is legit or not, sometimes ur naive and be like well it must be the perk, but the killer could have wallhack on u with speed boost and it will be really hard to know if he cheat if they barely increase the speed. which matter a lot, even 2% increase is huge in this game.

I'm just being realistic hereHard disagree. Focusing on the loud ones who you think are unreasonable is the exact negative bias I was talking about.
if you listen to most survivors they tell you they don't even expect to escape most of their matches...because they don't.Which can (and often is) caused by the exact reasons you listed, as well as others more unique to the role. Personal responsibility and maximizing agency are an end user issue, but even players you agree with are not immune to it. Someone who loses a lot but learns from ever loss will lose less over time, and someone who refuses to will fall into the same pitfalls continuously.
but most killers will not tell you they only expect a 0-2KBecause this community has toxic perceptions about how killers are supposed to "4K every game without tunneling slugging or camping, and anything less is just a skill issue." There has actually been a few content creators making videos about topics like killer anxiety, with a lot of it stemming from the standard people feel required to hold themselves to because of the sheer hyperbole of their opponents. And that aspect of it in particular is universal to both roles. Nobody wants to admit to something that would get them labeled a scrub, even if the person applying the label is being unreasonable.
no, they know they are the power role and feel entitled to at least a 3K average, and many killers even think 4K is the win condition. You'd be surprised how many killer players would rather have games not full of nonsense, with actual honest competition, more than just 3Ks and 4Ks. You're projecting a need to be validated through victory onto an entire role of the game, when it might apply to some but certainly not all (or even most imo, though its impossible to have a specific value ofc.) This type of villainization is practically mandatory to us vs them focused arguments.
and this difference in expectation is reflected in the stats. The game is centered around survivors having maximum agency at the start, with diminishing returns as the killer grows in strength relative to the resources they spend. Its also a game where one side has shared agency, while the other has individual. The amount of players who don't even understand shared agency as a concept is a far bigger contributor to kill rates at any point in the game's health than killers being big-mean-oppressive-doodooheads could possibly achieve.
Its important to note that these all have exceptions, and sometimes the exceptions are very relative to the "rule." Sometimes the vocal minority makes a perfect lil guy who needs to see the wizard for a brain. The only "truth" is that broad strokes kill honest discourse.
Zubat made a post about killer tier list, not only he made that post, he made it against top teams, and he even claim that all killers are S tier in pubs against casuals, are u denying it? Knightlight and other top players claim the same thing, if u lack skill u could just practice u know, it dont take much time to be good at killer, when i was a new player, took me few hundred of hours to stomp survivors and 4k nearly every game, and that was when legit the game was SWF SIDED, currently killer is easier than it ever was, and stats before those little 50-50 pallets existed already proven that killer is the power role, u denying it shows how selfish u are and that u lack skill,. im over 12k hours in this game ive seen its ups and downs, ive been in the comp scene way before u even started playing dbd, the game currently for pub matches is heavily killer sided, of course u will feel like well i didnt play chucky much i will play him once a week and then get stomped by other people that lets say are not better than u so u will know they are playing poorly, but u will still lose and thats cause u bad at chucky overall, but if u main a certain killer long enough and know how the killer power works and how to utilize the power of the killer, then there is nearly no weak killer in dbd, only few killers i would consider weak in this game, there are plenty of strong ones and even some overpowered ones such as blight/nurse/twins u name it, u flexing on that guy there in chat as if u know anything, the reason comp teams are able to beat blights in pubs is due to being far better than they are. just like other comp killers did massive winstreak vods. there is clearly mmr issues here, matchmaking not working well, and if it did work well, it would be great, in the end, the game is killer sided right now, and its a stomping ground being soloq, if hatch/lucky doors were removed u could delete another 10% of the escape rates of survivors at soloq. even if they did get like the escape it doesnt mean they won the game, it would be like well he played with 3men and that 3men died but he escaped so the stats gets to show as if the 3men stats are similar to soloq, as example btw. when im playing killer in current patch i barely even try im not motivated at all! i dont enjoy it, even if i were to lose a game, i dont feel like practicing the killers which i normally dont play, i dont blame the players if they beat me on a killer i rarely touch, i know i would win if i cared enough, its that bad currently, casual survivors that are not really skillful at dbd will die 9/10 in matches in many cases, bad killers getting rewarded for even making mistakes, nurse fail a blink = gets free hit if survivor doubleback, the only time recently when swfs were the power role was when pallet density was introduced, then i would agree the game was SWF sided, but not only they nerfed it, they made it worse than before the pallet density was even a thing, and now they pretend to revert the change which they didnt, they just half reverted it. keeping the killers in a power role stompinground. to be good at survivor is far harder than mastering 1 killer, since survivors have to deal with multiple types of killers, but killers have to deal with the same mechanics of survivors, get it? killer is easier to get into and easier to master. simple as that.
-
this happens because when killer mains plays survivors, they blame their team for losing so they dont complain about it, but when they lose as a killer they feel like the game is unfair to killers, funny right, A/S tier killers at current patch are stronger than 4men, and B tier are balanced, u have plenty of A/S tier nowdays so making such gap between killers is the biggest issue, because of the gap u cannot balance maps accordingly, in the comp scene u will see mid tier killers doing well. due to the fact that they are properly used, the 50-50 pallet changes from recent patched killer dbd for me, i will still play it, but i dont enjoy it, many of my friends took a break from dbd for a while now after the recent pallet changes which made killer ultra ez mode to gets undeserved hits.

Last two patches? I kinda fetting lost but pallet density update that nerfed all m1 killers and gave balanced even survivor sided maps like asylum more pallets, krasue which was op killer and got nerfed quite fast, mayers rework that made him worst untill they buffed him and now he is good I would say above mediocre killer, reverting pallet density update that nerfed loops very hard for uknown reason ……… I would say it wasnt one sided not to mention killers got many bugs and some bad bugs that make some killers unfun and frustrating to play as are still there.
pallets were unsafe, all top comp players are making meme videos about the pallets and how trash and unsafe they are while laughing at the people that defending those pallets. the revert didnt do much the game is still very rng favor, and recently ive seen really awful map rngs, they even nerfed the logs in the swamp maps, made them half their original size, like what is this ? u think this is fair? no way in the world its fair, especially when u run into blights which are very common nowdays when maps are so bad for survivors, many of my over 5k hours friends dont even want to play dbd after those 50-50 pallet shrinks, they dont enjoy the game! there is no skill in 50-50 just luck, killer with half a brain will always get a hit, really i dont get the point of even arguing about it, its obvious and clear that those tiny tiles are really awful choice, and the people that defend those will never get good in dbd.
